Eee Seeker Lennox is just chef kiss! What’s your hcs on frame behaviour differences with him and his fam to the autobots grounder frames.
Fr need more seeker Lennox in ma life xD if you don’t mind pleaseeeeeee write more
When it comes to Lennox family's physiology, there's differences that stem from them being Seekers as well as carryover from their old human selves.
Between Sarah and Will:
Think of Sarah more like a dark and matte version of Blitzwing from the Bumblebee film.
Sarah is larger and heavier compared to her husband. Her color palette is far more muted compared to Will's glossiness.
Seeker femmes don't have digitigrade legs as they require extra stability to carry the extra weight and density. Seeker mechs are geared towards agility, speed, and stealth.
Will has an extra set of talons in his lower legs. His kicks are far more deadly as he can extend the talons for a greater reach.
Yes. Seeker!Will has digitigrade legs.
Them as Seekers versus the groundbound Autobots:
Both are constantly communicating. While wingcant is culturally shaped by the city-state, there's a lot of instinctive movements.
Sarah has the capability to track down Energon deposits across the planet.
Sigma abilities. Will has a very advanced chameleon-like ability to blend in his surroundings. To the point of neutralizing his entire presence.
Typically, Seeker femmes don't have sigma abilities, but Sarah has one. She's capable of scrambling electrical signals that target movement within Cybertronian frames with a furious shriek.
Sarah and Will are aggressively affectionate to each other. Not just blending their fields together, but they have intense urges to constantly be physical. To the point of microtransforming their frames to either mesh into each other or be as close as possible. Wingspans tapping together or realigning to rest side-by-side in public. Nuzzling and necking in private.
Seekers are a very social frame-type. That instinct is made worse by the sudden cut from everyone else as they fled north and their new status as bondmates.
The Autobots don't have to worry about the Decepticon Seekers poaching away Will because the negative influences of no trine are kept in check by his and Sarah's sparkbond.
(If anything, they would need to worry about the Decepticon Seekers attempting to court or capture Sarah. Especially in the period where she's essentially a newbuild that's getting used to her frame but proven with a newspark!Annabelle.)
Ironhide being a goodsport as the pair aggressively rope him into activities that's usually between close ties among Seekers. But he's also needs to be a buffer between Sarah and the rest of the Autobots.
Seeker! Will has accepted that the Autobots are a potential flock, and Optimus acts as his Winglord. Seeker!Sarah, not so much...
The human sensibilities and the Seeker instinct war with her, whereas it's generally aligned with Will due to his exposure and close relationships to the Autobots as a human.
Sarah is slowly coming around as she uses Ironhide and Will to ease the Seeker agitation to defend or challenge down.
Worst comes to worst, Optimus may need to intervene and force the instinct to submit to the hierarchy of the Autobot 'flock.'
The humans thought it's a carryover from their humanity to be more comfortable resting in their root-modes. No. It's their social drive. Nesting is easier with bipedal frames.
The human influence on Lennoxes' Cybertronian frames:
Will's appearance is less of a Dorito and more similar proportion to his old body. His wings in root-mode seem to be split to create the appearance of two sets. One longer, primary pair and one shorter, secondary pair.
They're far more flexible. Especially Sarah, as she actually has a habit of yoga and stretching. Surprises the hell out of Ratchet when she's able to bend in ways that would usually put immense strain on her frame-type.
Far greater tolerance towards lower-grade fuels and able to digest a greater variety of raw ores. Their frames have an edge with more specialized platets across their entire frames to convert UV light into small bits of energy .
Their expressions are far more fluid, even with the more mechanical mandibles. Sarah and Will have a greater range of facial micro-expressions with their optics, conveniently placed ridges to mimick a close form of noses and eyebrows, and the shape of their 'mouths.' A major tradeoff is that their faces are far more vulnerable compared to the rest of the Cybertronians.
Annabelle's development seems both behind and advanced. Her plating is still too soft and lacks the typical density of her mobility. Her sight is more aligned with a newspark, but she has the vocal range of a near first-star sparkling. Ratchet is keeping a firm optic on the little one.

Danny Phantom A Glitch in Time and the concept of ¨Tikkun Olam¨
A few days ago i was talking to my friend @chestfullofnuttycream about Furiossa's A Glitch in Time theory about how the Ghost Zone could be result of the equivalent of a nuclear wasteland. While we were commenting on it she brought up the concept of ¨Tikkun Olam¨, which comes from jewish culture and how that could apply to A Glitch in Time. (For context she is jewish).
I got curious and decided to look more into it and see how it could tie with A Glitch in Time themes and lore. In this post i'm going to discuss the term and compare it to what happens in the Danny Phantom graphic novel. For that i'm going to cite this article that describes where the concept comes from and what it means nowadays.
*On note, i'm not jewish myself. There is likely some stuff that i could be wrong or innacurate, so feel free to comment or correct me about it.
Let's start with the mythos of ¨Tikkun Olam¨:
In reference to individual acts of repair, the phrase “tikkun olam” figures prominently in the Lurianic account of creation and its implications: God contracted the divine self to make room for creation. Divine light became contained in special vessels, or kelim, some of which shattered and scattered. While most of the light returned to its divine source, some light attached itself to the broken shards. These shards constitute evil and are the basis for the material world; their trapped sparks of light give them power.
So here already we see some parallels between the mythos and Ghost Zone's origins: The spirit and human-material world used to be one, until there was a great war that lead to the separation of the two worlds and thus with Earth getting ¨shattered¨.
¨All worlds were one, all beings were one, until disharmony struck. Life and chaos amounted to war, such as never has been seen before¨ ¨The toll became too much to bear, and the great divide occured, Spirit was separated from Earth, and one world became two¨.
As the legend explains, this divide isn't meant to be the ¨natural order¨. The current state of both dimensions is wrong. The world itself as its is broken.
While contemporary activists also use the term “tikkun olam” to refer to acts of repair by human beings, they do not necessarily believe in or have a familiarity with the term’s cosmological associations. Their emphasis is on acts of social responsibility, not the larger realm of sacred acts — and on fixing, not undoing, the world as we know it. <> The phrase “tikkun olam” remains connected with human responsibility for fixing what is wrong with the world. <> Contemporary usage of the phrase shares with the rabbinic concept of “mipnei tikkun ha-olam” a concern with public policy and societal change, and with the kabbalistic notion of “tikkun” the idea that the world is profoundly broken and can be fixed only by human activity.
Tikkun Olam is a term that has changed quite a lot since its origins through out history, it can have different meanings depending on the person. In current times a lot prefer to use it as a call to do acts that can help other people or fix the issues one can find in society. In this context the world is broken and it can be fixed through people's acts in different ways.
After Danny learns about this ancient history of the Ghost World, he says that he wants to make his new emotional drive to be fixing this divide between the two worlds. He wants to find a way to fix what is wrong with this world-perhaps returning to something like it used to be.
So what this would probably involve is Danny trying to find a way that ghosts and humans can coexist together again. He would try to find a way that can work together and not having to fight each other- like helping ghosts or showing humans that ghosts aren't their enemies.
Another thing that is worth of pointing out is that Gabriela has indirectly confirmed that she was inspired by Steven Universe in her reblog from Furiossa's post. Steven Universe's creator, Rebecca Sugar, is jewish and she has been open about her jewish heritage in the past.
Some people have talked about how Steven Universe is inspired by jewish culture elements for its narrative- one of these elements being Tikkun Olam- In Steven Universe the world and the people are presented as broken and it is something that the characters try to come together to fix it in different ways- Steven himself tries to find ways to repair the damage left by her mother's legacy, Rose Quartz, which gets explored through the show.
It is possible that Gabriela was inspired by these themes that were in Steven Universe and decided apply them to write A Glitch in Time lore and story.
Now i don't know if Gabriela herself is jewish- i haven't found much indication about this so i can't fully confirm. Another possibility is that she learned about this term and was inspired by it to somewhat apply them in A Glitch in Time.
But it could also be a case of pure coincidence because she happened to take inspiration from Steven Universe- thus ¨accidentally¨ writing a narrative that can be interpreted as taking elements from Tikkun Olam and jewish culture as a whole.
Whatever it is, it is still interesting to see that this is one reading that one can do of A Glitch in Time and see how certain things take inspiration from others. I'm curious to see how this theme is going to be contuined in the next novel along with learning more about how the two worlds became separated and Danny acting as a bridge between humans and ghosts.

Summary: The stage lost a fine actor, even as science lost an acute reasoner, when he became a specialist in crime. January, 1881: a despondent army doctor is offered a ticket to a Shakespeare play, and is instantly captivated by the fellow playing the Danish prince himself. Then there is a murder. Then they fall in love.

There is another way!
At Brown, a Rare Agreement Between Administrators and Protesters!
Protest is legitimate and what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza is to be condemned. But in a way that is worthy of people with an intellectual background at eye level with arguments. Not with rioting like in some universities, which is rather shameful for all involved!
Instead of seeking democratic dialogue and putting forward arguments that cannot be overlooked or denied in order to substantiate reasonable demands.
Senseless rioting and escalation by students, police and those responsible at the respective universities.
Sad, we say, and you wonder why the United States of America is so irreconcilably divided!
If the intellectuals or the future intellectuals can't deal with each other normally when it comes to different points of view! Or maybe they are even the same points of view, but why pick up the other when you want escalation?
Rioting for the sake of rioting, as an end in itself in the culture of agitation.
Escalation must be sought and wanted on both sides and so it is with de-escalation!
mod
Student protesters, administrators at Brown University reach deal to clear encampment.
Fight Trump instead of wasting your energy on riot that are not really democratic. A tip from us because what is important about democracy is equality and exchange of agencies to achieve the best possible results for all.

What's traumaendo?
It's a lot of things, but basically, in some way, your system origins are traumagenic and endogenic in nature
We use it because we are paragenic, which means we formed in part because of our madd. However, we have madd because of trauma, and when we formed, we were going through a particularly rough time emotionally. The brain was just like madd isn't enough. We need head friends, and now we make paracosms together ✨️

"EDUCATE WORKERS TO OFFSET REDS," Toronto Globe. October 17, 1933. Page 12. ---- Director of Varsity Extension Department Makes Appeal at Woodstock ---- (Canadian Press Despatch.) Woodstock, Oct. 16.-"We are trying to make a better world, and supply education as one of the best ways to do it," said W. J. Dunlop, Director of the Extension Department of University of Toronto, addressing Woodstock Rotary Club today. In a spirited exposition of the Workers' Educational Association he deprecated objections met with in Woodstock, expressed in refusal to allow use of the collegiate last season.
"In Brantford, Peterboro' and here," he said, "there came up the peculiar idea that if you are educating workingmen you are making Communists of them. I cannot understand it at all. There are some business men so short-sighted they say if the workingmen are getting together to study, then they are planning mischief. How on earth can you think that? We are getting the workingmen together to teach them; Communists among them, probably. I have seen Communists - brought to light by attending these classes. A Communist is not a man who knows something; get him in a e class and teach him something, and before long he ceases to be a Communist.
"Some well-meaning and intelligent gentlemen have had the idea there are Communists in the extension class here. If there are, it is the best place they can be; they learn something - there. They are in the collegiate at Peterboro', in the technical school at London, the university in Toronto, and schools in other places."

Review @ Bad Alchemy Magazine ( Germany )
Mit Schwitters („Merzbauten“), Baudrillard („Simulacra“), Debord („Dérive“, „Musica Psychogeographica“), Virilio („This Dromocracy“), R.A. Wilson („Discordia“, „Musica Eristica“), Thierry Hentsch („Mpire of Desire“), Thomas Frank („Commodify Your Dissent“), W. G. Sebald ('After Nature') als Stichwortgebern. Mit verneinten und dennoch angeeigneten Begriffen – ThisContinuum, Thisillusion, Thisquietude, Endotica, Thisowned, Etopia, Thiscordiana, Thisruption, Thisequilibrium... Die Sexploitation geschwärzt. Aus Dis- (miss-, nicht-, zer-, un-) wird This, aus Eskapismus wird Fluchthilfe aus den Ketten der „Buyology“ und der 'Tyranny of the Moment' ins 'Edgeland', in die 'Peripheria', die Einsamkeit, Thisneys „Mondo Lostalgico“. Who walks alone in the streets at night? The sad, the mad, the bad. The lost, the lonely. The sleepless, the homeless. All the city’s internal exiles. The night has always been the time for daylight’s dispossessed – the dissident, the different. Hier mit einer Sammlung verstreuter Hauntologismen, die als 'Atmosphera', 'Temporality', 'Lamento', 'Surrender', 'Darkspace', 'Summer Nightfall', 'Disengage' schon ihr Spätgeborensein, ihre Leeseitigkeit andeuten. Und ausgießen in klimpernder Tristesse, dröhnendem Moll und manchmal dazu raunenden Stimmen, kaskadierend platzenden Bläschen oder müdem Kontrabasspizzicato. Aber: 'You decide the end of the story'. from the number of asinine complaints about how "voting is NOT a form of harm reduction" because harm reduction is for ADDICTS! ONLY! I'm seeing around... all coming from OP blogs I don't recognize and which otherwise don't have much presence... well, that coordination alongside the timing of US politics sure feels like the Russian troll bots agitating again. (Yes, they absolutely infested Tumblr; I think @ms-demeanor had a great post about what the bots looked and felt like somewhere that I will have to try and track down tomorrow.)
The thing is, if you actually do know harm reduction well, the complaint makes no sense. It's not as if the origin of harm reduction is a secret or especially hard to find out more about. I am not exactly an expert in the field: I have a educated layperson's interest in public health and infectious disease, I'm a queer feminist of a certain age and therefore have a certain degree of familiarity with AIDS-driven safer sex campaigns, and I'm interested in disability history and self advocacy (and I would in fact clarify harm reduction as a philosophy under this umbrella). So I have about twenty years of experience with harm reduction as a philosophy basically by existing in communities whose history is intertwined with harm reduction, which means I know it well from many different angles, and I know how the story of the philosophy is generally taught.
See, this is a story that starts, as so many stories do, in the 1980s with something monstrous President Reagan was doing. In this case, it was the AIDS epidemic, and Reagan refusing to devote any money or time to what eventually became called AIDS (rather than the original GRIDS, which came with its own baked in homophobia). Knowing themselves abandoned by society in this as in all things, and watching as friends and loved ones died in droves, queers and addicts are two communities who see that they are the only resources that they collectively have to save each other's lives. Queers know that sex, even casual sex, is an important part of people's lives and culture... and people aren't going to stop doing it even if there's a disease, so how can it happen safely? Condoms. Condoms every time, freely available, easy and shameless, shower them on people in the street if you have to. (And other things: this is the origin of the concept of "fluid bonding", for example... both of which were concepts that were immediately adopted in response to COVID, like outdoor socially distsnced greetings and masks and "bubbles." That wasn't an accident. Normalizing sexual health tests and seeing hard results on paper before sex was a thing, too.)
Addicts, too, knew that using was going to happen no matter how earnestly people tried to stop. If it was that easy, addiction wouldn't exist. So: how do you make using safer for longer? If you could stop someone getting HIV before they could bring themselves to get clean, that's a whole life right there. If you could stop someone overdosing once, twice, a dozen times, that's more time you're buying them to claw themselves out of addiction and into a better place. Addicts see, right, needle sharing is getting the diseases spread, so cut down on needle sharing. Well, needles aren't easy to get hold of. Their supply is controlled because people who aren't prescribed needles are theoretically junkies, so taking the needles away makes it harder to use, right— and no one is complicit, and also you see fewer discarded needles lying around where they're unsanitary and unsafe, right? Except that people want to do a buddy a good turn, so they share if there's no other option, and they'll keep a needle going until it's literally too blunt to keep using if need be. So fighting needle sharing means making it easier to get needles to shoot up with: finding a place to discard used ones and get as many fresh ones as you need to use safely!
Making free needles available to junkies and free condoms for the bathhouses was not a popular solution with politicians, for perhaps obvious reasons. Nor was routine testing of the blood supply, because that cost money too. But these things work to stop the spread of disease. Thus the principle of harm reduction: policy interventions in response to communities that frequently engage in risky behavior should focus on whatever reduces aggregate harm by reducing the risk rather than by trying to reduce the behavior. The homos and junkies say look, all your societal judgement in the world hasn't stopped us being homos and junkies yet. You ain't going to look after us? We'll look after our own. And this is the form that takes. Not increasing the pressure to act like people who aren't is, but making it safer to be the people we are while we try to be the happiest versions of ourselves. Even if that means being morally complicit in a whole lot of casual sex and drug abuse.
The thing is, harm reduction is a philosophy rooted in the defiance of people who knew that their society thought they deserved to die painfully, young, invisible and alone. This is not the kind of thing that people come up with and get mad if you adapt it and share it, especially if you tell the story of where it came from. And importantly, harm reduction is not purely the child of addiction: that philosophy, from the get go, was cooked up to apply both to substance abuse and casual sex. It didn't just spread from addiction care; it was born straddling addiction care and queer & feminist health care.
So it doesn't make sense to see actual activists who know harm reduction well complaining that this is a term exhibiting semantic drift when we talk about voting as harm reduction. It's actually a good metaphor: you're reducing the overall risk of the worst case scenario metaphors by voting Democrat, at least until future votes can install a system where multiple parties can flourish on the political scheme. (Democrats and Republicans are essentially coalitions of a pack of arguing factions anyway, and those factions are essentially what would be classed elsewhere as a party in its own right; the US essentially just lumps political granularity rather than splitting it in our political system.) And anyone who understands harm reduction itself knows that.
So it's this wildly inorganic complaint being voiced repeatedly by different sources. Sounds like a pretty good flag for a potential psyop to me.
If you want to learn more about harm reduction and its history, especially from an addiction perspective, I cannot recommend Maia Szalavitz's Undoing Drugs: How Harm Reduction is Changing the Future of Drugs and Addiction (2022) highly enough. Szalavitz has a history of addiction of her own as well as being a clear and accessible writer with an excellent grasp of neuroscience and history. I have a lot of respect for her work.

Alright, here it is: the Konoha clan headcanons masterpost!
*well, it’s the non-story-relevant Konoha clans. I have a feeling I’ll learn more about the Uchihas and Uzumakis a little further into the show, so I’m holding off on making hcs for them for now.
**also I wanna hear other ppl’s clan headcanons so drop yours in the comments/tags👀
———
ABURAME CLAN HCS
General:
-any clan-born Aburame is technically eligible to become clan head and may challenge the current clan leader for the position if they so desire (otherwise, clan heirs are based on the current leader’s bloodline). A formal voting process is then carried out among all clan-born adults to determine who will lead, making the Aburame clan Konoha’s most prominent democratic clan (of which there are very few)
-however, they hardly ever actually have a change in power due to general contentment with how things are run: usually, the only reasons for a change in power to a new bloodline within the clan are the old leader’s bloodline ending or their blood relatives refusing the position. In general, political infighting among the Aburame is very rare
-they’re well-respected for their strength and usefulness, but other clans don’t make it a habit to socialize with them. As it stands, the Aburame don’t really have many notable relationships with other clans. Their closest relationship is actually with the Yamanaka clan: the Yamanaka respect the Aburame’s non-talkative ways, the Aburame have helped the Yamanaka with growing their flowers, and both clans have a sizeable presence in both the Torture and Interrogation unit and the Intelligence unit
-not many outsiders marry into the clan: this, coupled with the clan’s low birth rates, means that the Aburame are one of the smallest of Konoha’s major clans
-the Aburame seem closed-off, but they actually have a very communal culture where almost everything is shared. They also live in large complexes instead of single-family homes
-the clan culture values uniformity, which is why Aburames do not tend to show much outward emotion
-because of their unique physiology, sick or hurt Aburames are often tended to by Aburame doctors
-Aburames who have a very close relationship with each other often can recognize the unique buzzing of each other’s insects
-Aburames tend to like very bland food, and they tend to avoid spicy foods and alcohol because it agitates their insects
Traits:
-Aburame clan members wear dark glasses because their eyes are very light-sensitive
-their eyes are black and have no pupils, and the irises have an unusual hexagonal pattern
-Aburames tend to have somewhat poor vision. They sometimes use their insects to help them see
-Aburames are naturally susceptible to extreme temperatures
Attire:
-as insect hosts, Aburames value preserving their bodies’ natural states and thus do not engage in any form of body modification like tattoos or piercings
-the Aburame have much simpler traditional clothing than most other clans, but each member does have a special scarf to wear during formal events. The scarves are made from silk that can only be produced by a silkworm colony that is tended to at the center of the Aburame compound
-the coats that Aburame members wear for shinobi duties are made out of special thermal-regulating fabric
-the Aburame favor plain, simple, and uniform clothing. The only jewelry they wear are beaded charms that are worn either around someone’s neck or hanging from their glasses

Events:
-clan funerals are the only events where Aburames are expected to take their glasses off. They do this as a sign of respect for the dead
-Aburame weddings are very private. The only people who attend them are the immediate families of the people getting married
HYUGA CLAN HCS
General:
-the Hyuga clan is the most picky about other clan members marrying into their clan and usually do not allow for civilians to marry into the clan at all
-the Hyuga and Nara clans (and the Uchiha clan when it was still around) are the only major clans that do not allow divorce
-overzealous Hyuga children are told that using their Byakugan too much will cause them to develop wrinkles (it’s not true, but it’s effective in encouraging restraint)
-Hyugas are big fans of the arts. Many clan members are taught how to play flutes or stringed instruments from a young age, and it’s practically mandatory within the clan to practice calligraphy
-Hyuga shinobi practice meditation often, particularly “body scan” types of mediation that they use to get in touch with their chakra system
-extreme pain/discomfort and even extreme emotions can make someone unconsciously activate their Byakugan. This is especially true for younger Hyugas, as they have less training and experience using their Byakugan and thus may accidentally activate it while doing something like eating really spicy food or stubbing their toe
-overuse of the Byakugan causes itchiness and facial discomfort. The Hyuga have developed a special balm to help with this
Traits:
-most Hyugas are colorblind to varying degrees
-the gene for the Byakugan is extremely strong. All Hyugas born to two Hyuga parents have it, and even those with mixed heritage are very likely to inherit it
-Hyuga eyes reflect light
Attire:
-Hyugas are very proud of their eyes, and it’s the clan beauty standard for women to accentuate their eyes with makeup when they get dressed-up for events
-traditional Hyuga robes are very simple and are similar between the main house and branch house, but main house robes have more dramatic sleeves. Main house members also wear purple sashes: women wear them around their arms, and men wear them around their waists
-it’s tradition for Hyugas within the clan leader’s bloodline to wear their hair long as a mark of their status (though others are allowed to do so as well)
-Hyugas wear ceremonial hairpins at important clan events
-Branch house members wear headbands to cover their seals

Events:
-on the last day of the year, the Hyuga hold a remembrance ceremony to honor their ancestors. This involves lighting incense at the Hyuga burial shrine, a period of prayer to the ancestors, and a feast at the end
-the continuation of the clan leader’s bloodline is considered to be extremely important. As such, there is a big celebration each time a child of the clan leader is born. The clan heir’s birthday is also celebrated throughout the clan when they turn 3 and again when they turn 16
INUZUKA CLAN HCS
General:
-the Inuzuka are a purely matriarchal clan (and the most prominent of the few matriarchal clans in Konoha, since the other matriarchal clans are smaller and less powerful)
-they’re highly uninvolved with politics compared to other clans of their standing (in the past, part of this was because of misogynistic political standards, but now it’s partly out of the Inuzuka’s own spite and mostly out of their disinterest)
-anyone can marry into the clan and receive full clan membership, but only clan-born Inuzukas can receive facial tattoos
-the clan’s signature facial tattoos are done with a special ink by a designated clan elder. The elder trains an apprentice in how to make the ink and do the tattoos so that they can take over the practice when the elder dies
-it is considered treason of the highest degree for an Inuzuka to abandon their dog for any reason. Anyone who does so is disowned from the clan
-the Inuzuka have a “pack” culture and deeply value community and clan loyalty
-the humans don’t pick their dogs. Instead, the dogs are the ones who pick their human partners: something carrying a person’s scent (usually a piece of clothing) is presented to a group of eligible dogs, and if a dog chooses to be with that person, they will howl to indicate their choice
-dogs and their human partners are buried side-by-side in designated plots
-Inuzukas do basically all of their training outdoors, so they’re known to be good survivalists. Because of their sense of smell, they’re especially good at identifying useful plants
-the Inuzuka have a specialized method of drying and preserving meat in order to make a very tough jerky. Inuzuka children chew the jerky as their fangs develop in order to help wear down rapid fang growth, and it’s also a popular snack for both the humans and dogs in the clan
-Inuzuka medics are specially trained to heal dogs as well as humans
Traits:
-about half of the Inuzuka clan members are semi-colorblind. That said, while they don’t have perfect night vision by any means, Inuzukas have a better than average ability to see in the dark
-it’s a minor characteristic compared to their sense of smell, but Inuzukas also have a noticeably heightened sense of hearing
-Inuzukas are born with normal teeth, and their fangs grow in after they lose their canine teeth. The development of a child’s fangs marks when they are ready to be partnered with a dog
Attire:
-it’s a clan tradition for Inuzukas to wear their dogs’ puppy teeth (dogs lose their baby teeth like humans) as jewelry, usually on a cord around their necks
-Inuzuka facial markings are done with face paint until an Inuzuka turns 16. At that point the markings are tattooed on
-Inuzuka ceremonial clothing consists of a ceremonial fur (which is made from the skins of animals they hunt) and a red sash
-Inuzukas outline their eyes and paint their nails red during clan celebrations, symbolizing past victories in battle via the blood of enemies. The clan head also paints a small red triangle on their forehead

Events:
-the Inuzuka celebrate the new year in winter. During this celebration, it is tradition for each Inuzuka with a dog to braid a short cord from their dog’s fur and give it to a loved one as a token of love and luck
-the clan has a group hunt every summer. They love the thrill of the hunt, but they also make it a point to respect the taking of an animal’s life and avoid killing just for the sake of killing. At the end of the hunting period, the clan gathers to celebrate their successful hunting and honor the lives of the animals they hunted
-when an Inuzuka turns 16 and gets their markings tattooed on, it is tradition for them to do a ritual where they do not let anyone see their face for three days. At the end of the three-day period, the clan members each contribute a piece of kindling to build a fire, which is used to purify a bowl of water that the newly-tattooed Inuzuka uses to wash their face and hands as well as the front paws of their dog. It is also tradition that they are not allowed to let anyone outside the clan see their face for another four days after completing the ritual (so not until a week after getting the tattoos)
NARA CLAN HCS
General:
-the head of the Nara clan is determined by bloodline, but a council of advisors to the clan head is elected democratically. This is somewhat unusual, as the other major clans generally have a council of elders to advise the clan head
-Nara members are granted full political power within the clan once they complete the clan’s coming-of-age ritual during their 16th spring, meaning they can participate in clan votes and hold clan positions. They actually grant this power earlier than many other clans: the age for it in most clans is 18.
-Naras are actually quite superstitious. Many of them engage in lots of little habits to ensure good luck and/or prevent bad luck (such as always facing in a particular direction when sleeping or keeping the windows closed on the first day of the year), which (among other things) has contributed to a stereotype about the clan being somewhat neurotic
-anyone who harms a Nara deer is considered an enemy of the clan
Traits:
-members of the Nara clan have higher than average rates of chronic insomnia
-like the Inuzuka, the Nara have a higher than average (but not outstanding) ability to see in the dark
-people joke that the Nara genes are the strongest in the village, since Nara children tend to have somewhat similar physical traits regardless of their parentage
Attire:
-Nara shinobi grow their hair out as a symbol of longevity and wear it pulled back as a symbol of discipline, resulting in their signature ponytails. A Nara shinobi wearing their hair down while on duty is frowned upon as undignified
-traditional Nara robes include a long, flowing black skirt, which is meant to symbolize flowing shadows. Their robes also are decorated with patterns meant to look like creeping shadow tendrils. The clan leader’s robes have a deer skin collar
-Nara clan members who complete the coming-of-age ritual wear a pendant made from deer antler that’s carved with the clan symbol, which marks the person as a full-fledged member of the clan (regardless of whether they are a chunin who is already considered an adult)
-also, while it isn’t a firm tradition the way the coming-of-age ritual is, many Nara members save the antler their pendant is made from and cut a second piece of it to make into a piece of betrothal jewelry (usually a ring) when they become engaged

Events:
-the Nara have a big bonfire in the winter, during which they light lanterns and hang them from the trees in the forest in a celebration of light (after all, there can’t be shadows without light)
-the Nara coming-of-age ritual consists of a nonstop two-day meditation in the Nara forest to reflect on one’s childhood and gain a clearer understanding of one’s adult path. At the end of their meditation, the person completing the ritual selects a single shed deer antler from the forest, which is then turned into their clan pendant. Nara children complete this ritual during their 16th spring (since the deer shed their antlers in late winter/early spring), so some people have to wait a little longer to do it depending on when they were born
-Nara clan funerals exclusively take place at night. They burn their dead and scatter the ashes in the forest (they also do this when a Nara deer dies)
AKIMICHI CLAN HCS
General:
-the Akimichi clan is one of the largest of Konoha’s major clans, probably because they have no restrictions on who can marry into the clan and they have high birth rates
-however, due to the potentially destructive nature of their clan techniques, not all Akimichi members are taught said techniques. A council of clan elders decides whether each child will be allowed to learn: the only exceptions are those who are related to the clan head, who are guaranteed to be taught the techniques
-leaving a plate of food unfinished is considered exceptionally rude by the Akimichi. In the early days of Akimichi-Nara-Yamanaka shared feasts, several Naras and Yamanakas found this out the hard way
-music is very popular in the Akimichi clan, but unlike the flutes and stringed instruments of the Hyuga clan, Akimichi music is made up of purely percussive instruments like gongs and drums. Unlike the Hyuga, they also do a lot of dancing, which is similarly percussive and utilizes a lot of stomping and clapping
Traits:
-the Akimichi have one of the highest life expectancies of the Konoha clans
-Akimichis handle their alcohol well regardless of what size they are- because of this, the clan has a reputation for being big drinkers
Attire:
-unlike the Inuzuka’s tattoos, the Akimichi’s facial markings are nonpermanent face paint. Each member chooses their own markings, and the different colors have different meanings (such as kindness, strength, and wisdom) that are supposed to represent the key trait each Akimichi wishes to embody
-the Akimichi wear ceremonial armor for important events to signify their strength as a warrior clan. They also wear tasseled headbands with the clan symbol on them: children’s headbands have one tassel on the left side of their faces, and those considered adults by the clan have headbands with tassels on both sides. The tassels have beads on them that are the same color as the wearer’s facial markings
-like the Aburame, the Akimichi clan places high cultural value in their bodies. There’s a big emphasis on taking care of one’s body within the clan, so they’re known for being very hygienic. Unlike the Aburame, the Akimichi also encourage decorating one’s body and dressing however one desires
-the clan head wears a long scarf that represents the vitality of the clan

Events:
-the Akimichi, Nara, and Yamanaka clans have a shared feast every summer in order to foster inter-clan relations, which is always hosted at the Akimichi compound. The signature dish served at the feast is a stew made with meat from Akimichi livestock, tree bark from the Nara forest, and herbs grown by the Yamanaka
-the Akimichis love their feasts in general. Weddings and funerals within the clan are both marked by feasts
-Akimichis are buried with their favorite foods, and the first cup of alcohol poured at an Akimichi funeral is set aside and left at the dead person’s grave
-the Akimichi like to have competitions of physical strength during celebrations, with the most common of these competitions being stone-lifting. Akimichi weddings also involve a wrestling match between the married couple, so they’re always great fun
-when a couple announces their engagement, the clan head bestows them with a caterpillar. They must tend to the caterpillar as it undergoes metamorphosis and becomes a butterfly, at which point they release it: the release of the butterfly signifies that the couple is ready to be wed. It is said that the longer the metamorphosis takes, the more blessed the marriage will be
YAMANAKA CLAN HCS
General:
-unlike the Akimichi (who grant members political power on their 18th birthday) and the Nara (who grant members power after the coming-of-age ritual during their 16th spring), a Yamanaka who is promoted to chunin receives full political power and status in their clan regardless of age, and all non-chunins receive power on their 20th birthday, later than most other clans
-several Yamanaka traditions include special teas made from different flower blends. One of them is a tea drank by a newly-married couple at their wedding to promote a love-filled partnership, one is a tea drank by a child on their first birthday to promote healthy growth and a long life, and one is a tea drank by everyone during the yearly Yamanaka springtime celebration to promote a prosperous and happy year
-Yamanakas have a reputation for being gossips. A juicy secret known by one Yamanaka is soon known by at least five of them
-when they get very old, it’s not unheard of for Yamanakas to stop talking and exclusively communicate mentally
-Yamanakas are very big on meditative practices and mindfulness
Traits:
-it is very rare for a Yamanaka, even one with mixed heritage, to have dark-colored eyes. It’s said that their light eyes allow them to see clearly into the mind
-for whatever reason, Yamanakas can’t grow facial hair
Attire:
-the vast majority of Yamanakas wear their hair long, but no one is allowed to have longer hair than the clan head
-most Yamanakas wear their hair in ponytails, but for ceremonial events, they favor more elaborate braided hairstyles. During the springtime celebration, they braid flowers into their hair
-Yamanaka traditional robes are sleeveless and patterned with flower designs
-the clan head wears a wooden pendant with the clan symbol

Events:
-the Yamanaka clan has a big springtime celebration every year when the flowers bloom, which is also when most of the courtship within the clan happens. They mark their years by springs, so it’s like their New Year’s celebration, and tons of friends and allies from other clans are invited
-before a Yamanaka wedding, the people getting married must spend three days living together. During this time, they are not allowed to see anyone else and are not allowed to speak to each other: this is supposed to strengthen their mental connection with each other

"it's the dancing that kept them going" Maintaining joy in your life as an act of resistance is the kind of motto more on the Left should embrace. "...joy serves as a healing balm that sustains both the people and the struggles inherent in revolutionary times." In the words of Audre Lorde from her 1978 piece 'The Uses of the Erotic': "In order to perpetuate itself, every oppression must corrupt or distort those various sources of power within the culture of the oppressed that can provide energy for change.” In other words, fight the good fight but don't omit having fun in the process. That's not being glib. You have to remind yourself what you're fighting for while providing for yourself (and the ones you love) the "energy" necessary "for change." It's a sentiment found in the work of the anarchist Emma Goldman, an expression that has been reduced to a paraphrase, "If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." She wrote in her autobiography 'Living My Life' about an incident where she was pulled aside and chastised for dancing: "At the dances I was one of the most untiring and gayest. One evening a cousin of Sasha, a young boy, took me aside. With a grave face, as if he was about to announce the death of a dear comrade, he whispered to me that it did not behoove an agitator to dance. Certainly not with such reckless abandon, anyway. It was undignified for one who was on the way to become a force in the anarchist movement. My frivolity would only hurt the cause. I grew furious at the impudent interference of the boy. I told him to mind his own business. I was tired of having the Cause constantly thrown into my face. I did not believe that a Cause which stood for a beautiful ideal, for anarchism, for release and freedom from convention and prejudice, should demand the denial of life and joy. I insisted that our Cause could not expect me to become a nun and that the movement would not be turned into a cloister. If it meant, that I did not want it.
'I want freedom, the right to self-expression, everybody's right to beautiful, radiant things.' Anarchism meant that to me, and I would live it in spite of the whole world - prisons, persecutions, everything. Yes, even in spite of the condemnation of my own closest comrades I would live my beautiful ideal." Back to Lorde, "In the way my body stretches to music and opens into response, hearkening to its deepest rhythms, so every level upon which I sense also opens to the erotically satisfying experience, whether it is dancing, building a bookcase, writing a poem, examining an idea. That self-connection shared is a measure of the joy which I know myself to be capable of feeling, a reminder of my capacity for feeling. And that deep and irreplaceable knowledge of my capacity for joy comes to demand from all of my life that it be lived within the knowledge that such satisfaction is possible, and does not have to be called marriage, nor god, nor an afterlife." .... "In touch with the erotic, I become less willing to accept powerlessness, or those other supplied states of being which are not native to me, such as resignation, despair, self-effacement, depression, self-denial."

like real people do ☢️ seungcheol x reader.
little is known about the apocalypse of 2017. a century later, archivists are now unveiling the relics they found from those who lived through that time.
★ seungcheol x reader. ★ word count: 2.1k ★ genre: alternate universe: apocalypse, alternate universe: soulmates (the only way for your scars to disappear is when your soulmate kisses them goodbye), angst, romance. ★ warnings: major character death. depictions of death/violence, injuries/scars. established relationship; suggestive scenes but no real smut. set in a fictional apocalyptic world. doubling down on the angst warning; i cannot say with any certainty that this is a happy ending. ★ footnotes: this is part of my follower milestone event. viv gave me an inch (a request for angsty seungcheol) and, in turn, i am giving her a mile (a whole thing instead of just a ficlet). mahal kita, @heartepub! this will be the last hozier brainrot i offer you— for now. + much thanks to @gyubakeries and @tusswrites for beta reading! love you both to the end of the world. ❤️🩹

When the fish started dying, you did not think: This is how the world will end.
Why would you? The decimation of marine mammals and seabirds didn’t make the news. The misguided scientific breakthrough that triggered everything was kept under wraps.
It isn’t until much later, until the damage is irreparable and the Rapture is imminent, that you will realize it.
The world as you know it is ending— but at least you have Seungcheol.
There’s some cruelty in the timing of it all. The two of you had just moved in with each other, coasting on the honeymoon phase of a long-term couple with a new thing to share. The paint on your apartment’s walls had yet to dry when the government declared a state of national emergency.
Dozens of other countries followed suit not long after, all blaming one thing or the other. Food crises. Social unrest. Cultural collapse.
“This is crazy,” Seungcheol grumbles.
The television is playing clips of a hurricane tearing through the Philippines. Extreme weather conditions, the reporters are saying. Due to the rise of CO₂ levels.
You and Seungcheol are sprawled out on the floor, watching it unfold. The furniture store meant to deliver your couch has delayed shipment until further notice.
Seungcheol has always been the sulky type, though the expression on his face nowadays has been less of his trademark pout and more of a serious frown. You can feel his growing agitation in the stiff way he holds you, in the set of his eyebrows.
“It’s crazy,” you agree quietly, resting your hand on his knee in a bid to calm him a bit. “But it’ll pass.”
Your touch seems to give some sort of reprieve. He rolls his shoulders. He unclenches his jaw.
“It’ll pass,” he echoes, reaching out to intertwine your fingers.
Neither of you knew just how wrong you could be.
April 8, 2017
Weird times. Cheol knows just how anxious I get when I’m cooped up, so he encouraged me to pick up journaling. I’m not sure how much this will help, but it’s worth a try.
It’s been a month since everything has essentially gone on ‘lockdown’. The news says that all of this started because researchers wanted to regulate harmful algae. Their genetically engineered virus ended up infecting all algae, and now the majority of phytoplankton are just... dead.
I don’t know what to write about. Terrible oxygen levels? Seafood costing a fortune? This ‘work from home’ system everyone is trying to figure out?
I guess I should just write about the good stuff. That way, when I look back on these entries, I can remember something good.
Today, Cheol tried to fix a leaking faucet himself instead of calling for a plumber. We flooded the kitchen floor, and ended up wet from head to toe.
I cooked pasta, called mom and dad on Skype, and watched the latest episode of Santa Clarita Diet.
Once everything opens up again, Cheol and I have to visit my parents. (And ‘get better screwdrivers’, he claims.)
When Seungcheol first kissed you, you did not think: This man is my soulmate.
It had been a clumsy, shy thing, traded way back when the two of you were high schoolers still stealing away from your eagle-eyed parents. Seungcheol liked to wax poetics about how it was perfect even though you know that first kiss was more a clash of teeth than anything.
You don’t discover the truth of everything until a couple of years into dating. Seungcheol had gotten into playing basketball, and, one evening, you absentmindedly pressed your lips to a scar he had at the bend of his elbow.
The mark smoothed out instantly.
Seungcheol had giggled at the development before spending the rest of the night kissing every inch of your skin that he could reach— injured or not. You still think it’s one of your best memories as a couple.
Kisses that healed scars. You hadn’t believed in the stories yourself until it had happened to you, until you realized how fortunate you were that your soulmate wasn’t halfway across the world or something. No, you had your soulmate, and he was more than willing to kiss away all your wounds.
You had counted yourself as lucky. You still think you are, even now, as Seungcheol strokes your hair and holds you to his chest in the pitch black darkness of your apartment.
His voice is quiet and small when he speaks up. “I’m sorry.”
“What for?” you mutter back.
“I’m sure this isn’t what you imagined,” he says. “For us moving in together and everything.”
An amused snort escapes you. Of course that would be your boyfriend’s concern. There’s the rotational power outages and the merciless prices of goods due to inflation, but Seungcheol is worried about your expectations not being met.
You shift in his hold. The days have been getting warmer and warmer, and the evenings are no exception. Seungcheol has taken to sleeping shirtless. You’re a couple of celsius away from doing the same.
“It’s not your fault that we decided to move in together for the end times,” you say into the skin of his bare chest.
He gives the small of your back a light thwack. “What have I said about the apocalypse jokes?” he chides lightly.
You roll your eyes. He shouldn’t see it in the darkness, but he knows you all too well. “And don’t roll your eyes at me!”
His reprimand draws a short laugh from you. Even that feels like a monumental effort, like it's a waste of good air.
Seungcheol doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about the two of you waking up in pools of your own sweat, doesn’t care that there are whole government newscasts on how to preserve oxygen in enclosed spaces.
He holds you like a lifeline and kisses you until you’re breathless.
“Cheol,” you whine against his mouth, the protest already at the tip of your tongue. The end is near; sex should be the last thing on your mind.
But then Seungcheol’s fingers toy with the hem of your shirt, and he sounds so, so sweet when he mumbles, “Yes, soulmate?”
That’s always gotten to you.
“Unfair,” you groan as you work on shucking off your own clothes. “You’re so unfair.”
In between giggles, he kisses every part of you. Again, and again, and again.

Cheol and I are on the run.
He keeps telling me not to call it that because it supposedly makes us sound like criminals. I think it’s just funny, and God knows I need something to find humor in.
As badly as I want to say “we have gone through worse before,” that would be a lie. We’re out of our apartment and trying to make our way to some place where there’s better air quality. In the meantime, we’re living out of his car. It’s so funny to me that I’ve started laughing until I’m crying.
Anyway, the good stuff: Today’s sunset painted the sky purple. We snagged some still-cold cans of Sprite in an abandoned 7-Eleven. Cheol spotted a family of ducks crossing the road, pointed it out, and said “us, soon!”
Us, soon. It feels dangerous to hope, but that’s all I seem to do nowadays. That and being on the run. (Cheol made me strike out that last part, but whatever.)
When Seungcheol finally admits to you that he is scared, you did not think: This means that things are much, much worse than I thought.
Maybe because there were bigger concerns, like the car’s blinking fuel warning light and the scratches littering Seungcheol’s arms. Like the fool that he was, he had gone against your well-meaning advice to not look for help.
He did not return unscathed.
Your lips are pursed in a thin line as you rip open a Band-Aid. It’s one of the few that the two of you have left, and Seungcheol seems to remember the fact. He reaches out to stop you.
“Hey, c’mon,” he urges, obviously trying to aim for levity. “You know there’s other ways we can fix me up, right?”
The frown that tugs at your lips shows that you’re still less-than-pleased at his little stunt.
“Maybe if you didn’t head out in the first place,” you grumble. “We wouldn’t need any of this.”
Seungcheol looks like he might push back, but seems to decide against it at the last minute. Instead, he wraps his fingers around your wrist and gives you a gentle tug.
“It won’t happen again.” His tone is edged with remorse, enough to almost convince you. Almost.
“No more playing hero?” you ask.
A corner of his lip twitches upward. “No more playing hero,” he concedes before tugging at you again.
You let him. You move closer into his space until you’re practically in his lap, until you’ve got a better view of the angry red cuts on his skin.
Tentatively, you press chaste kisses to the injuries. Seungcheol’s hands find purchase at your waist and he tilts his head back, letting you work your magic. He’s quiet as your lips trace over each gash and wound, as you take away all the hurt with the ghost of a kiss.
After a moment, he mumbles, “Is it bad that I want you right now?”
“Seungcheol.”
“Okay, okay.” A beat. “I want you all the time, actually.”
“Shut up!”
The sound of his laughter fills the car. It’s enough to have you forgetting his murmured confession of fear, the vulnerability that he had tried so quickly to cover up with affection. For a moment, there is nothing else in the world except this, except you, except him.

Is it weird to say that I’m starting to forget what it was like before all of this happened? Cheol is trying to assure me that it’s to be expected, that we’ll all be back to ‘normal’ soon, but I don’t even remember what normal is like anymore.
I can’t forget. I don’t want to forget. And so here is a small list of things I took for granted:
The first breeze that tells you winter is coming
The kindness of people who don’t know you
The smallest fish in the sea
Date nights with Cheol
Clean water
Breakfast
My parents
Cheol says there might be some biodomes ahead. Oxygen-regulated habitats. It sounds like something only the rich can afford. We don’t have a lot left between the two of us, and it’s getting harder to jump from building to building.
But there’s something waiting for us on the other side— right? There has to be.
May the best of my todays be the worst of my tomorrows.
When the gunshot rang out, you did not think: This is it.
Seungcheol never gave you any reason to think that way. He had held your hand as you raided rundown grocery stores. He had positioned himself in front of you when there were stampedes. The world might have been ending, but he was with you.
He was with you even when the strangers you ran into started getting more aggressive. He was with you even when fights would break out over necessities like water and medicine.
“People are dangerous when they're desperate,” he’d tell you softly— still his rational, kind self even when faced with the worst of mankind.
He was with you. He was kind. He was yours.
Even when the bullet lodged itself right between his ribs.
There is not much that you remember after that.
The people dispersed. The cause of the fight— a can of chicken noodle soup, once your comfort food— lay forgotten on the floor.
The love of your life, staring unblinking at the sky.
When you sink to the ground, you’re moving purely on instinct. Your quivering lips press over his chest, over the red blossoming and staining his shirt.
You kiss him. Again.
And again.
And again.

The kisses don’t work on bullet wounds.

You’re so unfair.
I still want you.

What now?
My love, it’s only a matter of ███████—

It is our deepest regret that the author is unnamed and that they cannot be properly credited. However, we know of two things with certainty.
We know of a man named Seungcheol, and we know that he was loved.

Rachel Leingang at The Guardian:
Millions of people are expected to protest against the Trump administration on Saturday at roughly 2,000 sites nationwide in a demonstration dubbed “No Kings”, planned for the same day as the president’s military parade and birthday. Interest in the events has risen since Trump sent national guard and US Marine Corps troops to Los Angeles to tamp down mostly peaceful protests against ramped-up deportations. “We’ve seen hundreds of new events on the No Kings Day map since the weekend,” said Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, one of the groups behind the “day of defiance”. “We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people register for those events.”
A website for the protest cites Trump’s defying of the courts, mass deportations, attacks on civil rights and slashing of services as reasons for the protests, saying: “The corruption has gone too far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings.” Actions are set for the country’s largest cities and small towns, dotting the map from coast to coast – part of a strategy to show that opposition to Trump exists in all corners of the US. No Kings is not hosting an event in Washington DC, intending to take the focus off the military parade and show the power of the people outside the nation’s capital. Philadelphia will host a flagship march instead, and a DC-based organization is hosting a “DC Joy Day” in the district that will “celebrate DC’s people, culture, and our connections to one another”. “We did not want to give him the excuse to crack down on counter-protesters in DC,” Levin said. “We didn’t want to give him the narrative device to say we’re protesting the military. Instead, we wanted to make him look as small and weak as he is, and protest everywhere else in the country.” In early April, the “Hands Off” protests drew a few million people to more than 1,300 locations. Levin expects No Kings to be bigger, despite Trump’s threats to meet protesters with “very big force”, which the White House has since tried to soften. Trump, in a press conference this week, said people who protested the military parade “hate our country” and were “going to be met with very big force”, though he said he wasn’t aware of any planned protests against the event. The press secretary Karoline Leavitt later said Trump “supports peaceful protests”. Asked about the No Kings protests during a White House event on Thursday, Trump said: “I don’t feel like a king. I have to go through hell to get things approved.” Organizers have expanded capacity for pre-protest trainings, given the increased security concerns after Trump’s actions in Los Angeles. On a “know your rights” call led by the American Civil Liberties Union on Tuesday, a host said, at one point more than 18,000 people were on the call. Questions included whether to attend if you were a legal immigrant with a green card or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Daca) status, how to respond if violence erupted, and what to do about potential agitators.
Tomorrow, millions of Americans opposed to Tyrant 47’s anti-American regime will be protesting at No Kings/No Tyrants events across the nation in blue, purple, and red locales.
