In 2013, le Pen called for exactly the kind of tougher laws she is now appalled by. Her demand went even further: a lifelong ban on politics for those found guilty of all the offences for which they have just been convicted.

Le Pen was found guilty of embezzling EU funds on Monday . Among other things, the court had banned her from running for public office for the next five years. She is currently leading in the polls. The judge justified the immediate ban on her standing for office by citing, among other things, the risk of her reoffending.

It is interesting to see how the right-wing populists squirm when it comes to applying the law equally to everyone.

Equality is and must be the highest principle and goal in a democracy.

Anyone who underestimates the potential of women and girls in politics, business and culture is doing themselves a disservice.

All right-wing populists, all right-wingers always talk about wanting freedom, but in truth, freedom from this group, this group means only individual freedom for some.

It is the freedom of entrepreneurs not to pay taxes.

It is the freedom of entrepreneurs not to follow the rules.

It is the freedom to ban content that questions the freedom of those who propagate freedom.

It is the freedom of the rich.

It is the radical de-socialization of the state to benefit corporations.

The freedom from labor law.

The freedom from trade unions.

The freedom from social security.

But also the freedom to make rules, to exclude, to persecute, to lie, to propagandize.

Freedom only works if equality and fraternity are included in the sentence.

Because freedom also stands for security, protection, health, free development for all.

Everyone is equal before true freedom. Everything else has to do with propaganda, which only has to do with the individual freedom of an upper class that thinks all the same.

The lean state is just the playground the rich need to have the framework conditions in which they have the freedom to act as they want without restrictions.

What they practice in their companies, they want from the state. If these entrepreneurs could open countries themselves, they would do it, since they cannot do it yet, they buy access to power or power itself with their influence and money.

When the women in Iran rose up against the mullahs, they were abandoned by the Western world. Many of the women fighting for freedom have since been executed, tortured and imprisoned, as there was little interest in taking military action against the mullahs to stop the murder of these women.

The ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement has brought new momentum to the protests and raised awareness of women's rights in Iran. The international community has been monitoring the situation in Iran and calling on the government to respect women's human rights without interference.

But now that the Israeli president has launched an attack on Iran in violation of international law, based on claims that Benjamin Netanyahu has been repeating since 2015 that Iran will have nuclear weapons in a few weeks, which was obviously not true, since it was repeated in 2015, 2018 and every time since then.

The United States of America is attacking Iran because a toxic right-wing politician has started a war and his country is now being bombed by the country he attacked. All the women and people who fought for their freedom by peaceful means needed the help of the superpower America, but that was probably not really in the interests of the previous government, and the Trump administration's interests are not motivated by good intentions either.

We abhor the mullah regime in Iran, let there be no mistake about that, but if international law no longer applies, then we cannot hold up a moral version of power against Putin. Then arbitrariness suddenly becomes the raison d'être of the state.
