I have the hc that, after he got his back broken, Bruce sometimes used a cane. As he was healed by a meta (Shondra Kinsolving, I miss you everyday), he doesn't need it much at first, but with all the bs he did while healing, it still suffers from chronic pains that gets worse as he ages. On top of that, the hc that Bruce starts using glasses to read as he ages.

This leads to, one day, Dick and Jason stumbling on Bruce reading with his glasses, while using his cane. They are both hit hard with the realization that their father is getting older. That he is not the indestructible rock of their youth that can get hit with anything and get back up. That they weren't there to protect him, he needs them to protect him (especially Dick, who canonically feels bad about not being there when Bane broke Bruce's back)
