Danganronpa Girlies x Reader - What if you were their favorite gacha game character? Feat. Sayaka, Kyoko, Chiaki, Mikan, and Tsumugi
Tumblr media
A modern au in which the dr girlies are just as chronically online and cringe as we are
cw: ...... gestures at tsumugi. be warned, she's acting like herself (immoral, inconsiderate of human life, and should be in jail)
Dedicated to @wandiethewanderer and @cmiru for both being angels and sweethearts on my last post with this au T~T
-Sayaka-
Sayaka's situation with you is unique, to say the least. If you don't know about the Love Live franchise and how each of the fictional idols has their seiyuu (voice actor) actually perform as them and be super involved and all that, well now you do. This au is essentially exactly like that with Sayaka as a seiyuu, but with two possibilities depending on your gender.
If you're the same gender as her, she knew from the moment your seiyuu auditions were posted that she HAD to voice you. You were just... perfect for her, y'know? It's strange to say, but when she saw you, it suddenly clicked in her mind what having a soulmate feels like.
The problem is, she wasn't given the role. Those bastards for some stupid reason decided to cast her as some other chick??? Instantly, she becomes her own character's number one hater. They're nowhere near as cute as you are! And if there's ever any drama between her character and you in the story, oh boy. Prepare to find her on an anonymous post ranting about how you deserved better, how that bitch was so, so mean to you. Just trashing her to no end.
But no matter how much she hates her character, it's nothing compared to the burning rage and loathing she feels towards your seiyuu. How dare they steal you away from her? God, she'd totally get rid of her by trashing her social image if she could. When you're an idol, all it takes is one unflattering image to get leaked, one photo of you on a date with a mystery man... It would be so stupidly easy. But then you would get haters too, and she'd never hurt you. And so, poor Sayaka has to just grit her teeth and silently seethe while acting like nothing's wrong.
If you're not the same gender, on the other hand, she actually ends up quite happy in whatever role they give her. To be honest, she doesn't exactly care for it all that much, but the boost it gives to her career? Priceless.
But then the producers come up with this idea to release a new idol group that's... not girls? In this economy? Needless to say, she's adamantly against it. After all, the fanbase likes them for being female idols. If they diverge from that, the franchise's popularity will tank (and hers, of course, but she doesn't say that out loud). Still, they carry on with the idea, which is where you come in.
She wants to hate you so so bad. It's your fault that her followers went down 10% overnight and her dms are flooded with pissed-off fans lashing out. It's only fair, right? So why is her hand hovering over the 10 pull button? Why is your adorable face lighting up her screen after she spent a disgusting amount of money on you?
Sayaka still resents the other characters in your group, but you... Well, she can handle being a little less popular if it's for your sake.
-Kyoko-
When people at her school think of Kyoko, they imagine her cool, collected exterior. They think of her high grades and the way she calmly handles any situation thrown at her.
What they don't imagine is her staying up till midnight, staring at her computer screen and meticulously spinning around a 3d model of you—and definitely not the various, uh, angles she stops at. The thing is, it's not even sexual or anything on her part. She just genuinely is so interested in knowing every little detail about you that she fails to recognize how easily misinterpreted her actions could be.
There isn't a single piece of dialogue of yours that she doesn't have both written down and analyzed thoroughly. In this au, she actually gives up entirely on the whole detective shtick in pursuit of programming, all so she can get that juicy insider info. Not that anybody but her is privy to this information. To outsiders, she just looks like the same old genius Kirigiri.
Another thing about her is her insane dedication to rituals surrounding you. She will NEVER miss her dailies, new cards/skins for you, your birthday, etc. Girlie could be in a hospital and still manages to log in. The very definition of loyalty.
-Chiaki-
Ah, Chiaki. Even in a modern au, she's still a total nerd.
When news came out about a new game release, naturally, she pre-registered immediately. No matter what genre your game is, it captured her interest all the same. She's just a pro gamer like that.
To be honest, the game you're in isn't exactly... the best. It's awful, to be frank. Every screen takes way too long to load, it crashes at least once per gaming session, and the actual gameplay mechanics just suck. Yet, somehow, she keeps playing, all because of your voice cheering her on over and over. She kinda Stockholms herself into loving the game. Sure, it's lagging... but that just means she has more time to stare at you and admire your art. So what if resources are too scarce and you have to grind for eternity? That's more time with you, gosh dang it!!!
Chiaki, being her sleepy self, is part of the body-pillow squad—or at least, she would be if your game was good enough to warrant such merchandise being sold. There are people that take commissions for those sorts of things, but for some reason ordering one of you never works out for her? Whether it's shipping issues or some other random thing, it's like fate is working against her. Poor girl has to just tape a photo of you onto a pillow and call it a day.
-Mikan-
You know how a lot of people turn to fiction as a way of coping with real-life trauma? Yeah, that description fits Mikan perfectly. The public school system and its inhabitants aren't exactly kind to her, and neither is her home life. For so long, she simply accepted being treated like garbage because, well, nobody taught her not to. Until you came along.
You are something so terribly precious to her, being the only person who speaks to her kindly, as well as the only part of her life she actually has control over. She needs you. Mikan likes to think you need her too. After all, your game has quite a lot of parasocial mechanics. You tell her good morning every day, confide in her about your troubles, and even have an affection meter (which is always maxed out on her account). Don't you get sad and lonely if she doesn't log in? Don't you look forward to talking to her, just like she does for you? Please say you rely on her. Give her a reason to keep going.
Mikan's one of the heavy daydreamer types. She kind of has to, with how horrific her real life is. It's the only way she can survive. Out of all of her fantasies, though—of which there are several—her absolute favorites are ones where you're sick. Admittedly, they can get a little... much, with how poor your health is in them. The more ill you are, the more you'll depend on her. The more valuable she is. Don't worry, though. In all of her fantasies, one thing remains the same; you're fully taken care of and cherished so incredibly deeply.
-Tsumugi-
I'm gonna be real. If you know Tsumugi, then whatever you're imagining this version of her is like, you're probably exactly right. Yes, she's absolutely insane about her obsession with you. Yes, she's handmade countless cosplays of you, one for every single outfit you've worn. And yes, she makes incredibly obscure references to you/your game every two seconds. But that's the surface-level stuff. So let's dig a little deeper into this one and explore the less-obvious.
It's easy to imagine her treating you the way she canonically does her standard favorite fictional characters throughout V3, but... if she's this in love with you, her passion is far from even her definition of normal. This is a passion that matches how her canon counterpart feels towards Danganronpa. And just like the canon, it's going to take her to a dark, dark place.
She latches onto you like a damn leech, making her entire personality revolve around being your number one fan. It's like her entire life before you got wiped out of existence. Nothing in the world matters more than you do. And yet it keeps turning. Her parents' expectations keep weighing Tsumugi down, demanding time and energy she isn't willing to give to anyone else but you. They're always nagging her about doing the chores, doing her homework, going to school every day. Always something she's supposed to do and something she's doing wrong.
So, she fixes the problem. One night, she packs up her belongings with the prepared excuse of a mandatory school trip. When the police call her phone on the way there and mention a house fire, Tsumugi does a damn good job at playing the sweet, innocent girl who's learning for the first time that her family suffered an unfortunate "accident". She has to, cause if they ever found out the truth, how could she keep up with your game's updates?
I wish I could say she feels even the tiniest bit of remorse for her actions, but she doesn't. She just doesn't. If anything, she feels relieved that her parents are finally out of the picture. Everyone treats her so gently now, so carefully, no longer daring to judge her or tell her what to do. Even her teachers back off and don't point out when she's on her phone mid-class, doing her dailies for you.
Eventually, this dream life she's living will inevitably shatter and fall apart. Maybe the police investigation reveals the truth behind that cursed fire, or maybe her facade simply breaks on its own. But for now, here you two are, now very truly alone in each other's company.

Y/N sits alone in her room, tears streaming down her face as she scrolls through social media. She comes across a wrestling post she made earlier and sees a comment that reads, 'You'll never be as good as the men in the ring. You should just give up now.' She feels a crushing wave of depression coming over her.
*Meanwhile, down the hall, Dominik Mysterio hears her sobs and rushes to her side.*
Dominik: Hey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?
Y/N: They hate me. They all think I'm a joke and that I should just quit.
Dominik: Those people don't know what they're talking about. You are so talented and strong. You have a whole community of people who support and love you. Don't let the words of a few haters get you down.
*Determined to lift her spirits, Dominik enlists the help of his wrestling family, the Judgement Day (Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, Carlito, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh), Liv Morgan, and Dakota Kai. -I hope you guys enjoyed this! I had fun writing it. I love you guys so so so so so much. <33333

we csn talk about the famous "tolerance" of the "superior" English-speaking people... probably trying to emulate her role "model", illiterate Liar, who is not even able to read the time and never read a book in his life. Apart from the fact that I can speak 5 languages, so you can choose and we would have big laughs at you trying to speak the one where yours comes from... sure you don't even know. Before talking about me and people you don't know on the internet, wash your mouth and only talk about public celebrities you adore. "On my for you page" I don't think it's correct in your own language. No doubt you can't even realise LIAM is a hater because you live up his arse. It would be interesting to find a psychiatrist and analize Liam dedicating his life to shitting on people... with stupid jumbled nonsense. And obviously not brave enough doing it in interviews and now even on the internet as a failed teenager... 23 years old, that means 7 at Oasis split, and you even call yourself an Oasis fan. Go back to your Lady Caca, you belong to shit, appropriate for yourself. About swallowing, that's probably what your mother did with womanizer Liam, that's how you were born for a mistake, and it's clear in your blog. I see you think Tumblr is your life, so you should get one and it's not you telling me what I should post. It's called truth, and that's why you're typically offended as a silly fangirl, as if Liam was your mother, trying to defend him makes you incredibly stupid, sure you can't even realise. Try another "fixation per week", no doubt you'll do better

The 16th Day of G-Witch: Father and Child
Alright, let's get this over with. Look, if you like this episode or Guel, you might want to skip this one because I'm about to be a hater here. Also as a heads up, I decided to avoid the shot of Seethia's body in my screencaps, because as much as I dislike this episode, that's still a tough moment and tough to look at.
This episode pisses me off, and it's IMO unarguably the worst episode in the entire series. It's all so incredible pointless and irrelevant to the main story, and ultimately a gigantic waste of time that should have been spent elsewhere. Olcott and the Dawn of Fold do not play any role in the rest of the series, and the short 5 second scene in the final episode felt more tacked on to try and even remotely justify why nearly an entire episode was spent on them. Guel is not that integral to the main story that he deserved a chunk of an entire episode dedicated to his development and essentially putting him in the main character seat for an episode. The only impact this episode had later on in the show was so Guel could recognize that one kid on Earth who let slip Shaddiq's secret. Which was already a ridiculous coincidence that it could have been replaced with nearly anything.
It's insulting and sexist that in the first Gundam series with a female main character, they completely sidelined her for an entire episode just to let the most popular male character play at being the MC for an episode that has almost nothing to do with the main story and was designed to be more like a traditional Gundam episode than what G-Witch was. It feels like something that staff were ultimately forced to keep in so the executives who feared the show failing could distract fans who hated it with the standard Gundam tropes and a male character in the lead role, like jingling shiny keys in front of someone's face. And the worst part is? It worked. A chunk of the fanbase LOVED this episode because it felt like a classic Gundam episode and made them want to throw away what made G-Witch special and unique for more of the same shit they've had for 40+ years.
And all of that cost the show time it desperately needed to spend on the main story and characters with way more importance than Guel or Olcott. The only good thing I have to say about this episode is that the Prodoros IS a cool mobile suit. I hope it gets a model kit someday.
Tumblr media
I've got to agree with Norea here. Nika is incredibly naive about the situation Earthian's face. Wanting to solve problems without violence is certainly a worthwhile goal, but not one that is always practical. Sometimes violence and war is necessary to overthrow tyranny and oppression. It was made clear in S1 than when Earthians peacefully protest their terrible conditions, they're met with violence by the Benerit Group. And when peace is no longer an option, you have to use violence to fight back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Likewise, I actually think Shaddiq gets a bad rap from a large part of the fanbase. Some of that is rightfully because of his actions towards Miorine, but a lot of it I think comes from the sort of people who just like to yell "WAR IS BAD" and do not comprehend that in some situations, war is necessary to overthrow oppressive groups like the Benerit Group and Spacian Governments.
Giving weapons to Earthain groups is a solid idea that will even the playing field and make it difficult if not impossible for space to opress Earth through force, forcing them to the negotiating table for equality, and if all else fails, kicking them off Earth and reclaiming their resources themselves. My only concern with Shaddiq's approach is that I'm not sure he wouldn't try to lead Earthians even further into oppressing Spacians as revenge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is actually the one time I don't fault Guel for trying to do something "heroic." Trying to save Seethia, while probably being ultimately pointless, was a good thing to do. It's just a shame that, despite literally having a child die in his arms due to an attack by the Benerit Group, he learns all the wrong lessons from it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This conversation serves absolutely no purpose. It doesn't actually make any sense (he was a member of Dominicus, Earthains attacked him and killed his family and now he...works for an Earthian terrorist group?) and ultimately it's a completely meaningless detail that has absolutely no effect on anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, the cherry on top, the downfall of Guel's character. I really tried to like him, but this was very much the beginning of the end. After going through a trauma conga line and learning NOT to play the hero, Guel finally sees what his father's company has been doing to Earthians his whole life, and even has an innocent child die in his arms because of the attack.
And the lesson Guel takes away from all of this is that he wants to save his father's company and keep the oppression machine going? I get that maybe Guel being the one to fail and not break free from the shadow of his abusive parents was the whole point of his character arc (Kashtanka), but it's still disappointing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And after all that bullshit, we drop these incredibly important details in a post-credit scene at the end of the episode. All of this information, from what Notrette intended to do with Quiet Zero and what happened to her, was way more important to the story than everything that happened in the previous 20 minutes. But all it gets is a short scene at the end of the episode and is never further elaborated on.
This should have been the episode we learned more about Notrette and Quiet Zero, maybe even more about Prospera and Delling. Instead we got Guel and Olcott's pointless adventure.

I already saw some asks about Jennie and CNBLUE. I’m also a fan of CNBLUE and I would love to see what kind of interactions Jennie will have with them! I was wondering would there ever be moments where CNBLUE members defend/protect Jennie? If so, how would they defend/protect her?
Really? That's so cool you like them, too! I love the love you all have for the group! :)
Oh yeah, I see them defending and protecting Jennie! I will brainstorm more ideas for this down the line!
I see all members being vocal about how she belongs in the K-Pop industry and has laid any doubts about her abilities to hang with other idols to rest. They'd even bring up her dedication to learning from her seniors and how much respect she has for everyone when people claim she is rude and disrespectful. They will disagree with the idea that she is "forcing her Americanness" and that just because she has an "American" accent when speaking in Korean doesn't mean she is being disrespectful. People try to criticize her for the smallest things but they'd be vocal on how well she speaks and say nothing but good things about her.
If they noticed one of her shoes untied or unfortunately a heel starting to break, they'd point it out and help her before she could fall. They'd point out to watch her step when she is walking down the stairs or so on as well.
With Jungshin, her nervousness for fashion week would be an understatement especially since it's a whole new world for her. Perhaps some person or a model in the fashion industry would criticize her as clueless about fashion and wonder why she is even attending. Before Jen could get the chance to stick up for herself, Jungshin would step in to defend her and her achievements with fashion such as Nike, modeling, etc to shut the hater up.
With Minhyuk I see him defending Jennie when some are upset at her being cast for a K-Drama down the line. People would judge a casting before the show or movie releases, assuming it was a bad move and someone else should have gotten the role. He'd be vocal about watching her act and that viewers are in for a treat when the show airs and to trust the casting directors and Jennie's ability to tell a story on screen.
With Yonghwa, whenever people complain that he decided to collab with her "of all idols he could have chosen" he'd defend her by saying she was one of the best experiences collabing with and their visions for music mix well together.

'Virat Kohli was getting out in slips' - Ravichandran Ashwin launches brutal attack on batter's haters
In the ever-evolving landscape of cricket, where opinions and criticisms abound, one name consistently remains a beacon of excellence: Virat Kohli. The Indian batting maestro, known for his unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of perfection, has once again found himself at the center of attention, albeit for reasons beyond his on-field performances.
Tumblr media
The "Slips" Controversy and Ashwin's Defense
Recently, a wave of criticism swept through social media, targeting Kohli's supposed weakness against deliveries that induce edges to the slips. This unwarranted scrutiny, however, did not go unnoticed by one of India's most astute cricket minds, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
In a powerful display of support and astute observation, Ashwin took to social media to defend his teammate, highlighting the sheer volume of deliveries faced by Kohli and the inevitable occurrence of edges in such scenarios. He eloquently pointed out that even the greatest batsmen in history have been susceptible to edges, emphasizing the need for perspective and appreciation of Kohli's immense contributions to the game.
Beyond the Numbers: A Legacy of Excellence
Kohli's career is a testament to unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and an insatiable desire to succeed. His statistics speak for themselves, with a plethora of records and accolades adorning his illustrious resume. However, his true greatness lies beyond the numbers.
He is a leader who inspires, a competitor who thrives under pressure, and a role model who embodies the spirit of sportsmanship. His impact on Indian cricket extends far beyond his individual achievements, inspiring a generation of aspiring cricketers to chase their dreams with unwavering determination.

The Noise of Criticism: A Distracting Undercurrent
While constructive criticism can be valuable, the relentless and often unwarranted attacks on Kohli have become a concerning trend. Social media, with its echo chambers and amplification of negativity, has unfortunately become a breeding ground for such criticism.
It's crucial to remember that cricketers are human beings, capable of both brilliance and fallibility. To judge a career solely based on a perceived weakness, especially one as nuanced as getting out to edges, is a gross oversimplification and a disservice to the player's immense contributions to the game.
A Call for Perspective and Appreciation
Ashwin's defense of Kohli serves as a much-needed reminder to appreciate the brilliance of a truly exceptional cricketer. Instead of focusing on perceived weaknesses, let us celebrate his numerous achievements, his unwavering commitment to excellence, and his inspiring leadership.
Kohli's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of perfection. Let us celebrate his greatness, acknowledge his contributions, and allow him to continue inspiring generations to come.
In conclusion, the criticism surrounding Kohli's supposed weakness against edges is a distraction from his true greatness. His career is a testament to unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and an insatiable desire to succeed. Let us appreciate his brilliance, acknowledge his contributions, and allow him to continue inspiring generations to come.

How did Listening to Kpop affected my life as a student
As a student, I prefer Listening to music whilst I'm studying, doing activities, or doing homework Because of the Catchy lyrics and melodies of each song I tend to listen to like: Feel Special by Twice and Fighting By BSS, these are two of the many Kpop song I listen when I'm doing my studies, activities or homework
Its vibrant melodies help me to concentrate and have clear thoughts in my studies. And its catchy lyrics keep me motivated to do stuff that is related to school. Listening to Kpop helped me to overcome some Difficult things that are around education.
Many K-pop idols also inspired me to be someone better because they portray someone hard-working, and have become significant role models, especially to me and other K-pop song enjoyers. They also portray someone who has a great dedication to their ability of the great song they create and the ability to overcome hardships such as haters/bashers. So that's all the things listening to Kpop affected me as a student, Bye see you again soon

Argentina NT and Their Capitan, Lionel Messi
I've been thinking about the Argentina NT team dynamics. How they are so friendly with each other. How they always talk about how nice it is be back practicing with their NT teammates. The early morning mate, their interactions during and after training sessions, the protectiveness over one another during matches, some of the selfless on pitch moments that helped win matches, their silly Instagram posts, stories and comments, their remarks about a fellow teammate during interviews and finally, their love and respect for their Capitan, Leo Messi!
And their dedication towards him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think you'll ever find any team that is sooo happy to be part of a team. And so caring and committed towards their leader.
Yes, Leo Messi is the best player in the world. But what counts in a team more than skills is leadership and teamwork. I remember pundits and haters saying that Messi is not a good leader. He cannot lead a team, bring about unison and motivate them to win. If Argentina plays badly, it's because of him. Not just cuz he didn't produce goals during the match ("He dissapears at the big moments!"), but also because he just can't seem to get his team to play as a TEAM ("All they do is pass the ball to him, hoping he could pull a trick out of his football cleats. There is no team here, just Messi + 10 men."
To some extent, this was true. The team was not cohesive. They were over reliant on Messi and the team was built around him. The NT had world class players, but they were a bunch of players put together and not really a unit. But due to the amount of talent in the team, they were expected to perform great. To produce results. The amount of pressure put on Leo due to this is only something I can imagine.
From an outsider's perspective, it did take a while for Messi to embrace the role of a leader. Everyone believed that he didn't do what a leader does to motivate his team. Hell, some believed that HE is the cause for dressing room unrests. But none of the outsiders really saw what went on in the dressing rooms. We saw how he interacted with his players on the pitch. And to most, he looked detached. They didn't see him egging his members on to play better, they didn't see him encouraging them, they didn't see him helping them out from the sidelines when he's not playing ("like Ronaldo does!").
He was quite. He was tense. He looked like he didn't care.
("He's just in his own world when he's with the national team")
But things started to change. We saw him step up for his team (not for the first time, but this was what everyone remembers). The Argentina NT was getting bad press and media attention in 2016. Reports had come out that Ezequiel Lavezzi had smoked marijuana during NT training camp. Leo took the initiative to bring the whole NT to the press conference room and announced that the team wont speak to the press anymore. “We received a lot of accusations, a lot of disrespect. The accusations against Lavezzi are very serious.”
It's safe to say many were surprised. Leo Messi was officially taking a stance and standing up for his teammates. It was fresh to see Leo taking his captain role so seriously and protecting his members.
And we started seeing more of this side of Leo. The captain side. We saw him really being there for his teammates. And maybe this side of him increased the trust his teammates had in him.
With Lionel Scaloni coming in as coach, it changed things up. More young players were brought in. Players who grew up watching Leo Messi play. They considered him their role model. They felt inspired by him.
Tumblr media
(15 year old Enzo Fernandez's letter to Messi after his retired from his International Career in 2016)
Team dynamics changed. The Argentinian National Team liked coming together for the international matches, meeting their teammates and doing familiar Argentinian things only they know of. They hung out in each other's rooms. They grew fond of one another. They became good friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for their captain, they loved him. They were protective of him. Praised him. Not only for his skills, but his humility, his leadership and his attitude. They'd take any chance to talk about him. Though they admired and looked up to him, they worked with him, then for him. They worked together, as a unit. They were there for each other and Leo. And Leo was there for them. A Team.
AND THEY WON.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You get it? It's like poetry, it rhymes.
Anyways, Argentina NT is the best team ever. They were a joy to witness. This team deserved to win the World Cup. No doubt.
The leader and his devoted followers.
The GOAT with his team of World Class dedicated players.
THE ARGENTINA NATIONAL TEAM.

I am going to ramble a bit but I will hide it under a cut because it's a bit long. It will be about the previous fandom I was active in around two years ago and how it affects me to this day. It's also about popularity and putting others on a pedestal.
If this sort of ramble isn't up your alley then feel very free to skip over this post! I don't mind. If you want to read more about it, just check under the cut.
The Franchise And Its Creators
====
THE FRANCHISE AND ITS CREATORS Around mid-2014, I joined the Wakfu and Dofus fandoms, a small-ish fandom as a whole but popular in certain circles.
For those who don't know, Wakfu and Dofus are (online, console, mobile, figurine, card and board) games, comics, animated series, specials and movies created by a French studio named Ankama. These two franchises are intertwined with each other as they play out in the same universe but in different timelines. I myself dabbled around in the animated part of the fandom; I was a huge fan of the two series and the Dofus movie.
There was very little catering to the international part of the fandom when it came to the studio's attention and interactions. There were no English dubs or subtitles; international fans had to rely on English fan subtitles on ripped/pirated episodes of the show and movie, same for the franga/comics. Merch was hard to get. A lot of articles related to the shows and whatnot were in French only, which is understandable because it is a French-made product. But there's no denying that the international fanbase felt a little neglected back then.

Because I was very interested in the lore of both franchises, I had to do a lot of digging and translating to be able to fully indulge in it all. I went full in! I dug deep, created OCs, art and also tried to write fanfiction. I also shared news and info about the series and movie; I ran a fan blog dedicated to sharing things with the international part of the fandom. I was also often approached about lore, particularly for a few of the canon characters and one of the races that play a role in the Wakfu franchise; the Eliatropes. It was fun, it felt good to help other fans out, it was nice to make friends and be creative with others about similar things.
Eventually, the character and art theft began. We all know this is a 'normal' part of fandoms, so I won't hammer too long on it. My issue with it was the fact that my main OC, a female Eliatrope, gathered a lot of attention because female Eliatropes were a rarity in the Wakfu franchise. They existed but didn't get a moment in the limelight, except for one that even received her own game (Islands of Wakfu) but it was so obscure that a lot of fans didn't know about its existence. My OC was somehow mistaken as canon by plenty of folks and many others started to use her as a template to create their own (female) Eliatrope OC. I didn't mind, as long as they weren't straight-up copies and I tried to be supportive by answering lore questions and give feedback whenever it was asked for it (which happened a lot). Of course, copying and theft happened more often than not; over the five years I was part of the fandom, I sent out almost a hundred DMCA reports for art and character theft (like true theft; I could handle some similarities or one-time occurrences). One particular case went to the extreme but I won't beat that dead horse any further; it brought me enough misery to last me half a lifetime, that's all I'll say on it. I kept a lot of the negative experiences behind closed doors and dealt with a lot of it quietly to not bother, worry or burden anyone else with any of it. I wanted a positive and supporting environment for my followers, even if the truth wasn't as pretty.
====
ANKAMA'S STRUGGLE
Over the years, studio Ankama increased attempts to cater more to the international fanbase of its animated properties (articles in English, English dubs and subtitles, etc). However, the studio's struggle to garner the attention of international supporters (aka companies and sponsors) didn't go too smoothly, and to make matters worse, they were also struggling with finding a platform in France to broadcast the Wakfu series on after wishing to take a different and more mature direction. Ankama wanted more freedom with the Wakfu show, like less censorship, a serial rather than episodic, and it not being aimed at a young audience like its previous contractor demanded Wakfu to be. Ankama even turned to crowdfunding to get certain projects (like new Wakfu seasons) off the ground and let's just say that those crowdfunding projects are best described as tiny dumpster fires; they weren't pretty to watch. The first one was a disaster with plenty of displeased backers and the following crowdfunding attempts often didn't meet the end goal due to bad past experiences or the lack of interest.
Luckily, Netflix breathed some life into the international Wakfu fandom, which was great! But it was still received badly (mostly due to the awful English dub and sound mixing of the first two seasons and special) that the third season Netflix made possible was not getting the attention it deserved. It was also a rushed product due to financial and time constraints on Ankama's part. Netflix eventually declined a fourth season and it all fell a bit apart from there. Ankama turned to crowdfunding once more to try and make season 4 a reality. Last time I checked (which was quite a while ago), it did decently enough to make season 4 a reality. (Please don't ask me about it, I don't know anything about it.)
====
THE PEDESTAL
While all this was happening behind the scenes, I was starting to struggle with the reputation I built up in the Wakfu and Dofus fandom over the few years I was a part of it. The best way to describe it is that I had grown exhausted.
Aside from dealing with the theft and answering people's questions daily, I wanted to be treated as an average fan but I kept getting put on a pedestal. People went as far as to call me by titles (like lady Wish and miss Wish) more often than not. To be called and treated as such made me feel alienated, like as if I wasn't considered real. I often asked to just be called Wish, no titles/formalities required, and that I wasn't as 'popular' as they believed, but the majority of the people didn't seem to listen. People were either afraid or refused to interact with me because they considered me 'too popular', or simply wanted nothing but my validation, feedback and/or free art. I also had my fair share of haters and people that didn't approve of my 'status' in the fandom. Join the club xD I wasn't very happy with it either.
I really started to dislike being called 'popular' because it had such a bad impact on the people around me (and my own mental wellbeing). Friends started to become jealous of the attention I garnered and it dragged me down every time. At times, it would turn toxic. It was never my intention to make my friends feel like they meant less because they surely didn't. To learn that they believed others were only friends with them or only looked at their art/writing because they were good friends with me hurt so much. It still does. I refuse to believe that was fully true because I was (and still am!) surrounded by very creative people and they all deserved as much attention as I was getting, at times more. I wish others saw it that way too.
I was also heavily chained down thanks to the role (model) I played in the fandom. Too many people (especially young ones) looked up to me and there were a lot of expectations that I felt forced to meet. I started to lose the energy for it, but if I dared to stray a little from the path, the pitchforks and torches would come out. It was very restricting.
In the end, I felt stuck. Things started to grow toxic. There was a point where I began to dislike the franchise because of the bad feelings it brought me. I couldn't even get myself to watch the series or movie anymore. I focused less and less on the canon side of things and more on my own ideas, which was one of the only comforts I really had left in the fandom. I started to shut myself off, which upset a lot of people. I am sorry for that, I wish it didn't happen that way but I was at my wits' end.
When I realized and also accepted that I was no longer enjoying myself with canon or fanon, I knew I had to move on or stuff would end badly. It was a very tough realization and decision to accept and make; I literally dedicated five years of my life to the fandom. I spent hours a day digging for info and news to translate and share, doing 'research' for my fanfics, answering questions, and whatnot. I truly lived the fandom day in and out. It was the first fandom I ever actively participated in to this degree. What the heck was I going to do without that?
====
THE NOW
Abandoning the fandom was a scary step to take but not one I regret. I left the Wakfu and Dofus fandom behind me in late 2019. I feel freer now and so much happier. I no longer have the burden of expectations, being a lore guide or be forced to portray a certain role model weighing me down. I am no longer on that f*cking pedestal. I can finally explore interests that aren't exactly child-friendly without a big part of my following pummeling me down for it. (Don't worry, I always try my best to keep it in the appropriate places.)
Do I still like Wakfu/Dofus and all the stuff I've created with it? Yes, I do but I also want nothing more to do with it. Aside from the friends I've made there and also stuck around on my new adventures, I left the fandom behind me.
I still get approached at times about how my Wakfu OC, art and writing inspired someone and ask me if I could give them feedback for their own ideas or give them advice/information on Wakfu/lore. I am extremely humbled by it every time. It's great to see someone feeling inspired and be creative. However, I've moved on. I've left interacting with the Wakfu/Dofus fandom and fan-made stuff far behind me. I haven't touched it for almost two years and it shows on all the social media I share my art and writing on. I at times wish people could be considerate about the fact that I moved on but I also know and understand that not everyone knows my reasoning or my side of the story. I try not to be too harsh on it.
====
MY ADVICE
I don't hate anyone for how things turned out; a lot of it was my own doing by not saying no or taking a stronger stand.
It did teach me a lot of things, especially about caring for my own well-being and putting others on pedestals. Please be mindful when you treat someone like others treated me before; it's not healthy, for yourself and the person you put on that high pedestal. Take everything in moderation and consideration, that's all. Everyone's human, everyone has feelings, and everyone deserves a sense of being. Even your favorite artists and content creators. Don't treat them like an otherwordly being that you have to worship.
In turn, if a fandom or something you enjoyed is making you unhappy nowadays, you owe it to yourself to make or find a change. Be good to yourself, always!
~~
Thanks to anyone who read through this ramble. I needed to get this off my chest. I am not asking for advice, neither pity or whatever else. I just wanted to share my thoughts on past experiences because I have a feeling others might be going through something similar.
Thank you again, please take care.

This is an Andy appreciation post. I’m re-listening to Vale because I never understood.
It has much religious imagery but it’s *more* than just metaphors and analogies.
There’s four views I’ve understood finally and maybe more.
I will not mention anything of the specifics BVB is fighting against in Vale because like I said, this is an appreciation post and I don’t want to bring up anything negative if I don’t have to make it a point. If anyone wants me to go further into detail about what specifically I feel is going on, just ask because my gut has a keen reception on lyrics and events.
1. Religious persecution:
To the unawakened folks or the ones that progressively sin in the name of God.
Fighting for equality that when people fuck up, it isn’t the death of them. Just the death of an ego and awakening into more self compassion.
2. Talking to the fans that are blind to reality
In many songs off Vale, Andy always talks about preaching but never fully being heard from the blind and innocent. He’s tired but he will keep fighting, because he wants to make an active change to the community in a way he can but feels weak from time to time, yet never giving up!
3. Ashley
When Ashley was outed publicly, Andy never dedicated this song to him but posted the lyrics with no caption when Ashley was accused. Throw the first stone.
4. Letter to self: acknowledging this is an end of a cycle. Hint: the album name and song lyrics.
Our Destiny is a big one. It’s not just a rock love song about trying to save a destiny between two people. It’s saving himself from his past “sins” “fuckups” and saying it’s not too late to heal, which it’s never too hate to heal from the past and present. I feel like it’s “hey, I’m going into ashes now but I’ve already made amends with it and I’ll rise again and again, however many times to make it out of mental and physical surroundings.” Also, I feel it was referencing Lost it All in a way, like most of his songs do, it’s a personal and universal message that there’s so much shit in life that will knock you down and you will heal while STILL in a hurt place physically. I really want to appreciate that truth that there’s a lot of healing that still is in the midst of pain. (Props to you, Andy!) Many abusive childhoods can resonate with that as well as being stuck in relationships/friendships/or generational curses including being in debt. (Which he mentions a lot in interviews) I really do think he’s gonna get out because he’s such a wise soul and nobody gives him props to healing, and being such a mature wise man even though he’s not at his highest or best surroundings. I mean, I don’t know any other artist that’s stuck in a shitty situation and is still uplifting, real, and promotes healing and is why so many BVB army members resonate with the music. I really respect he says that people heal themselves but use his music as a resonating device to heal, when fans say he’s their hero.
Andy has overcome addictions, has had to protect his life many times, has written so much uplifting and real wisdom from a dark place of mind or just straight up otherworldly strength and vulnerability which I admire because it’s beautiful and real, doesn’t have many real helpful people around him, has been a real role model by himself, is overcoming shame and lies & generation healing, he’s really had to rely on himself and I’m glad his band members really allow him to take control of the lyrics in such an inspiring way. Even though he’s still dealing and people pleasing to toxic people, remember everyone, people in abusive relationships and are trapped have to people please in order to stay alive and not get harmed. Many don’t understand that if they’ve never been abused. (They don’t need to understand, Andy! We see it) His perseverance is real and don’t judge someone for figuring out their own life. Sometimes freedom comes from music (even though other aspects from the rock industry contradict it). Let’s be supportive of him right now because he’s branching off into a new territory and finding out what’s working for him SAFELY. Yes, I don’t agree with a lot of what he says in his insecure moments in interviews and lies in his book/irl (gotta remember that’s a trauma brain response), but his music speaks in a way that is truth and can help many people going through many things and express it in a healthy way. Also I believe many fans live in denial about his life due to the fact that they’re probably living through it in their own life and can’t recognize it in another person. Or are attracted to his light but want nothing to do to help keep it alive as in tearing him down (secret haters). Anyways, I respect him for going above and beyond and it’s really admirable because like I said, nobody in the industry has ever done what he’s done. His art is perseverance.
5. He’s been a role model for so many hurting depressed people because they resonate to his own story and his strength is a catalyst for their own strength. I dislike when people deny he’s been living in trauma and overcoming many times in his life because that’s literally what this band was formed into. There’s so much evidence in his life and in the music. He’s had to take on a role for his (hurt & healing) self and it naturally became a safe space for BVB army to interact and resonate with him. He had to do that at 18/19 and if anyone’s that age or older, you know that age is just a child. I applaud him for being that young while having no parental guidance while creating something beautiful and divine, though I do empathize for his inner child. His albums are art that are darker, not evil, and is a place where children/adults who were rejected in any form can find solace in their own mind and thus can create healing. His words are moving and you have to applaud the man for keeping it together when people of all directions were hating on his every move and it was because he has such a big heart and everyone around him wants to keep him caged out of selfishness. Even when he had meltdowns and (not saying he couldn’t also be toxic because everyone has the capacity but meltdowns get overlooked because it’s a spur of the moment thing and everyone thinks it’s a violent episode but it’s due to triggers as well as not being sober) still wanted to show up for everyone including his own self that he knows himself to be, that he didn’t want to let rot. He’s really a strong soul and it gets overlooked a lot. He’s striving for betterment of himself for more than a decade (with so much persecution even in his own circle) and people keep wishing that “I hope he gets out” and this is how he’s helping himself for the moment until he can actually get out. So again, props to him. We’re proud of you, Andy! Keep going! We believe in you. Keep taking care of your overall being. Thanks for believing in us all of these years. Some of us even made it out of the hurt place we were in and are living happy, peaceful, healthy lives after trauma.
^^i literally almost teared up reading this. this is exactly why i love him so much (& what made me fall in love with him/BVB in the first place) you said everything perfectly. i honestly wish i could pin posts on here bc i really want this to be the first thing people read on the blog. as much as people think this blog is supposed to be outright hateful, (although it contradicts the name of the blog lol) i can assure you it's not. as fans we want the best for our favorite artists and when an artist has helped/continued to help you and so many other people out of dark places it sucks to see that through that they can't help themselves. i just want the best for him and for him to be 100% happy again. that's the purpose of this blog.

“i’m a freak, i’m a pretender, i never really had a place”
On May 7th 1981, the desperate screams of a twenty-six year old Grace Hessman were heard through every corridor of that usually quiet hospital as she gave birth to her first and only child. The little boy would be named Matthew as a sweet tribute to his maternal grandfather, who had passed away the year before. In an ironic way, when growing up, the boy would be just like his grandpa. Friendly, nice, almost funny... He made everyone smile at all times and he loved the attention family members would give him because of it.
That was until his teenage years. At the age of fifteen, a wave of boredom seemed to have run through him. Now, the only joy he felt was when he would be with his paternal grandparents or chat with his friends. Other than that, no one could get a hold on him.
It wasn’t long until the boy started hearing the joke of “he just needs a girl to cheer him up”; his uncles and aunts were very quick when it came to that. He would just roll his eyes. He didn’t need that. He never wanted that. In his eyes, relationships were boring. A big example of that were his parents. He would always wonder how they even tolerated each other after so many years of what seemed to be the most unsweetened marriage. They were mediocre and, for some reason, he was the only one who could actually notice that. It wouldn’t take much to predict how that boy would deal with romantic feelings for the rest of his life. And, because of that, it was a surprise when he brought home a high school girlfriend, at the age of seventeen. Arthur and Grace couldn’t even hide their confusion. Somehow, their boy wasn’t a total hater when it came to romance.
The fact he brought a girlfriend home was just the beginning of his “wild years”. The boy who had been very closed off was once again friendly. His mood wasn’t so grumpy anymore and his mother, being a teacher in the school he studied at, couldn’t help but observe him at lunch breaks and wonder how he could have changed so much in so little time.
That exact thought crossed her mind once again when he was eighteen. Matthew had just randomly expressed that he wanted to try joining the Air Force after high school. He received his parents’ confused glances that night. After all, that was the first time they were hearing something like that from him. Not to mention the fact that he had never really been exposed to or expressed interest in military activities; they didn’t even know if those existed! It was a complete shock. But, eventually, the idea grew in their minds. Their son was polite, brave and pretty much independent. He would do well and they didn’t really need to worry about anything. He would deal with everything in his own way.
And, just after high school, he happily pursued his dream. The Hessman boy got out of town and made everything to reach his goal.
And he eventually did. At least, for about ten years.
At the age of thirty-two, after a career dedicated to the maintenance and repair area, he decided to retire from the Air Force due to a work accident that earned him some weeks in the hospital.
After that, Matthew moved to Colorado. He lived in Estes Park, a quiet town surrounded by mountains. There, he took the opportunity to become a handyman; which, for him, was the easiest and best decision to make, considering his situation. It didn’t take long for him to start loving his new routine. After all, his new job was easy and rewarding and the place he was living in was a dream for him.
And that love for his new life lasted for some years. Weeks after he turned thirty-nine, he returned to Fairview after his parents moved form their old house. He made the decision to renovate the house he grew up in and, after a couple of weeks of staying in a nearby hotel, he finally moved in. That would’ve been a great thing if the town wasn’t going through such a chaotic event; but he could definitely say that about his mind too.
His thoughts were messy in the month of december. After hearing the news of Rose Moore, he got the news of his own parenthood. He couldn’t say he was shocked. After some nights out and a couple of casual encounters that weren’t really thought of, that wasn’t something he could be shocked about. He had not been careful and he knew it. Now, he had to deal with... That.
And it was killing him inside. He never expected that to happen to him but, somehow, he was excited. Even though Matt didn’t actually plan something like that, it was always a wish of him. Of course, raising a child is hard, it takes effort and patience, but he was still excited. A little Hessman seemed like the extra piece to his life. It was like a bonus ingredient. An ingredient that wasn’t mandatory to bake a cake, but one that makes the cake even greater. Maybe, just maybe, that was all he needed in his life, at that moment. A bonus ingredient in the form of a child.
But he couldn’t help feeling worried. What type of dad would he be? His mind would instantly say “a bad one” and he couldn’t deny that something like that would make sense. He never really had a good role model to start with. His father was always at work, for some reason. And Matthew refused to settle down with someone. His fear of becoming mediocre just like his parents was always gonna be bigger than any love he could possibly feel for someone. At least, that’s what he thought. That’s what made sense.
With thoughts like that racing through his mind, the only thing he could think about was to hide those news caused by his drunk and irresponsible acts on some random night. After all, if no one knew, no one could gossip about it. But how long can he actually hide something like that?

Dedicate this to haters! To all those who told you that because you were born here, you can't. That success is not available in your region. You had the luck to be raised in a land full of potholes. Of challenges, and reasons to give up. In a country that teaches you to handle disappointment and frustration everyday. Making you live in a constant necessity to reinvent yourself. Not for pleasure but for survival. Almost 2 million km² of "NO". Waiting to be turned into "YES". Like when someone dreamed of starring in Star Wars. And people told him: you can't, you aren't handsome enough. Or like when someone wanted to evolve Mexican cuisine, and bring it to NYC. And people told him: you can't do it, nobody pays that much for Tacos. Or that time that someone wanted to star in a Broadway show. And people told her: you can't do it, there are people more talented over there. Or like when someone imagined himself playing along the best soccer players, in the most important team. And people told him: you can't do it, you aren't good enough. Or that other time that someone dreamed to build robots to send to Mars. And people told him: you can't do it, that is for geniuses. After dozens of closed doors, you inevitably learn how to tear them up.
So no, you don't need contacts, or money. You don't need the easy way. Because in Mexico, opportunities aren't found, they're made. It's true that we don't have trustworthy institutions or accessible education, not even tranquility in the streets. But what we do have are GUTS, and desire, and ambition, and creativity, and pride and an enviable resilience to defeat any challenges on our way If life were a video game, Mexico would be at the expert level of difficulty. The most difficult way to play: full of obstacles, with the most enemies and most risks. But if you can finish the level, if with your talent you can finish it Being successful in the rest of the world would be child's play. It will be difficult, in your way to success you are going to be called: crazy, naive, egocentric, outsider and idiot. But if you learned how to handle it all, if you learned how to dodge every obstacle... A f**cking meteorite would be needed to stop you. If you do things right, you will become an inspiration to the 120 million more that still don't believe that it can be done. You'll become another reason to never give up, another role model that inspires everyone to continue bringing down walls.
So if you have an idea, a project or a dream, it doesn't matter how far it seems, you're in the right place to make it happen. And no, there are no impossible goals, there are no achievements out of your reach, there are no challenges that you can not beat. Nor industry that you can't conquer. Keep falling down, keep getting up, keep shutting mouths up. Keep building bridges and paving roads.
Even if nobody understands why, even if it's easier not to do it, even if you feel you can't do it any longer. Mexico has been preparing you since you were born, for this. So when people tell you that you can't simulate outer space, do it! When they tell you that you can't sing in front of Hollywood, do it! When they tell you that you can't use only natural light, do it! When they tell you that you can't be the best dancer of England, do it!
When they tell you that you can't record it all in one take, do it! When they tell you that you can't produce successful shows in the most competitive industry, do it! When they tell you that you can't direct the best orchestras in the world, do it! When they tell you that nobody cares about the story of a mute woman falling in love with a fish monster, do it!
And when they ask you: How the hell did you do it? Tell them: "I'm Mexican."

1) You're tired of being "average". 2) Your dreams don't work unless you do. 3) You recognize that an action plan means you can't sit on your ass & expect things to "magically" happen. 4) You want to prove your "haters" wrong. 5) You realize that whatever "higher power" you believe in did not design you to be lazy or complacent. 6) Money & success mean more to you than sleeping the day away or constant partying. 7) Your kids/family need you to be a role model & show them that hard work truly pays off. 8) You accept that your lack of effort allows the next person to take your spot & that's unacceptable. 9) You wish to fulfill your destiny & make the dash between your birth & death dates have meaning. 10) Ain't no way you will be out- worked, out- shined, made a fool of, played, etc. Grab your life by the balls & take ownership of it. This is YOUR life to live- why not live it to the max? Stop accepting mediocrity from yourself; you were not born to do the bare minimum! Step your game up, level up & watch your life improve. Don't get big-headed, humble yourself & remember those that helped you along your journey. Twiztid - Generation Nightmare Review
By Joey C.M.
Tumblr media
Being that I'm no stranger to the juggalo scene, I dabble a little bit in Majik Ninja Entertainment from time to time. There is a ton of hatred from those who picked sides and rightfully so. All that said, even in 2019 and beyond theres juggalos who use the old 2008 excuse of "if you were real juggalos you wouldn't choose sides" to which I call bullshit. I'm all for no unity because then everyone looks like a sheep. In spite of all the politics involved with both psychopathic and MNE I try to look past any beef and actually enjoy the music. Last year MNE won the album of the year with the release of Alla Xul Elu's The Almighty and this year Twiztid announced not only a new A.X.E. record but also their own record titled Generation Nightmare.
So we'll start positively; rap wise it is pretty spectacular. Different and refreshing especially when Jamie Madrox is on the mic. The production is on point and many of the instrumentals are rather original. It spans 20 tracks and it shows the 2 were really dedicated to making something new... This is where my optimism ends.
This is NOT A GOOD RECORD. For every song that Madrox shined on; Monoxide ruins it by sounding like he has no effort whatsoever to record a decent verse. A recurring theme with the Majik Ninja camp is them constantly saying how they are 'hated' by many. That said, Twiztid says the word 'hater' more here than on anything else I've ever heard before, this includes the works of Lil Wyte and Bukshot. The rock(for lack of a better term) tracks on this record are so bad that they immediately take away any likeability from the record. Every rock song on here bastardizes the actual good rap songs causing a triple negative effect, a triple threat if you will. I mean goddam! When monoxide does his rock vocals he sounds like the dad who wants to look cool in front of his kids friends. However, the worst song on this is a track called "role models" where the boys take jabs at pop culture. Really stupid. I know that the demented duo has made rock songs in the past but at least those songs didn't feel as forced as these do on Generation Nightmare. This record is awful and I'm not just saying that, I mean it when I say this is absolutely terrible. I couldn't even give it a second play after I played it the first time.
RATING: SUCKS.
