DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
#DPxDC#Kizzer55555 ideas#Danny makes a card game to save the world.#Technically he worded the ritual so that they had to ‘beat’ him as those are the most powerful barriers and most reliable.#keys can just get lost or stolen (like the one to Pariah’s Coffin)#A riddle would be useless once someone figured out the answer. Like how no one takes the sphynx seriously anymore.#(Sorry Tuck. But it’s true).#And there is NO WAY Danny is just leaving a hole open for anyone to pass through. No thank you!#So…beating him. But it’s not like Danny wanted to fight so…he edited the ritual a TINY bit. Card games are good. Much less painful too.#Danny Tucker and Sam made the most complicated card game they could imagine.#It’s based on their strategies for fighting ghosts. Capturing them in thermoses. And MUCH based on a on field battle strategy.#It often requires spontaneous thinking on the spot. So Danny? In his ELEMNT. It doubles as practice for his actual ghost battles too.#They had SO much fun making this.#Sam added an entire series of plant cards that act as traps and healing ointments and duds that just take up the field.#Tucker added legitimate hyroglyphics combined with Latin as well as English and ghost speak.#Yes. You actually have to speak that language to play. With proper pronunciation. (Amity Parker’s think the three are talking gibberish.)#I headcanon Sam and Tucker are fluent in Ghost.#Constantine WILL figure this game out SO HELP HIM!#Some of the cards also have combinations related to constellations either in name or placement on the board.#By the way the board is based on a Hexagonal summoning circle with Rhunes along the edges#And the placement of the cards on the board and on what rhune MATTERS.#Also the cards move disintegrate and have certain abilities. Think of Harry Potter Wizard Chess.#But they are normal when Danny plays at school. This is just for ✨effect✨ Against invaders.#Danny faces multiple opponents. He also halts alien invasions.#While Danny COULD stop crime on earth he’s not sure how to fight a normal human and hold back so he sticks to ghosts.#The Justice league are going crazy trying to figure out who this entity is and after deep research are convinced this is some sort of#Ancient being who has protected earth for millenia. They have paintings on ruins and everything.#Danny is not aware they think this.#Raven starts praying to Danny as if he is a god and wrangles the other Teen Titans into doing so as well. Danny is still unaware of this.#Danny is not a King or an ancient. Just a very VERY strong ghost.

That’s your dad?!?
First up, this is set centuries into the future. Danny is the ghost king and ancient of space and has taken Ellie (I like that name for her better) in as his daughter.
As is normal for all families, Danny and Ellie don’t always agree on everything. One particular point of contention between the two is Danny being overprotective. She understands that it’s in his nature as a protector spirt but that doesn’t make it any less annoying to have him hovering over her all the time. Just because she’s eternally 12 doesn’t mean she’s defenceless.
After one particularly bad fight between the two she flies off into a random dimension to get some space. The dimension she ends up in being the dc one. After awhile a just exploring and following the heroes of this world she has an idea. What better way to show to her dad that she can handle herself than by becoming a hero?
She introduces herself to the heroes of this world and (after confirming with JLD that she is in fact a ghost and she does in fact have good interiors) ends up joining one of the younger teams (I’m parcel to YJ but teen titans works to)
Now here’s the thing about Ellie. Just like her dad she sucks at explaining things. It just isn’t her strong suit. So when one of them asks about her death, she (after explaining they shouldn’t ask that) explains that she’s a neverborn. She never died, she’s just always been a ghost. Later on when someone asks her how neverborns come to exist she gives the ‘ectoplasm forming about an idea or concept’ explaining and completely forget to mention that’s not the only way.
Needless to say, the team think she doesn’t have parents. Especially adding on the fact she’s still a little pissed at Danny so doesn’t talk about him.
This lead to them being very confused when, in the middle of a huge alien invasion that they were very much about to lose, Ellie yells out “DAD!!!”
That confusion turns into terror when the night sky itself opens its eyes.

This is a couple of headcanons that come together to make a story idea.
Kryptonite has trace amounts death magic energy stuff in it. Not a lot (if I remember correctly, kryptonite was found under the surface of Krypton, so it wouldn't have been close enough to the people to get a lot of spooky magic vibes) but enough to provide a small boost in any death related rituals
Not that anyone really bothers. It's hard for non-superpowered, non-billionare people to get ahold of it, and there are better ways to boost your abilities if you need to.
That is until after the defeat of Pariah Dark. (Is Danny the new ghost king? New ancient of space? Just really strong and easy to find? Unclear!) When word gets around that he was defeated by a young ghost with a love of space and all things in it, kryptonite suddenly becomes the hottest trend among cultists trying to summon or control Phantom.
And it's making Superman and the Justice League as a whole very nervous that this many low level threats are just carrying around their tankiest of tanks weakness

Not-So-Common-Sense (Part 22)
Previous | Masterpost | Next
“Ghosts are a sovran people, more than that we’re a sovereign nation,” Hyena boomed, speaking over the assembly as he demanded everyone stop whispering and pay attention to him. He glared at the assembled leaders as he transformed in sparks and flashes, hair turning white and muzzle transforming into a snarling skull until he was fully ghost. “And I am done listening to all of this bullshit, so enough debating. Now explain to the Crown Prince of the Infinite Realms why you have allowed these people to violate my people’s rights and hold me captive.” Danny-No Phantom demanded.
He was glad he didn’t have a heart to be pounding in his chest as with a wave of his hand he created a throne of ice and sat down in it. He pushed his mask up and as it dissolved a circlet of shimmering ice formed around his brow. It wasn’t the official crown, he had yet to take the crown of flame but it was just a bit of showmanship to add to the effect. He needed these people to take him seriously after all. Jason stepped up to stand beside him, and to Danny’s surprise Deadman came down to take the other side, leaving Ellie to perch on the back of his makeshift throne, draping herself comfortably there. Danny settled himself more comfortably and confidently in his chair, and in his new role because whether he was ready or not it was time to act and he had the people who mattered behind him without question.
“Explain to me why we should not go to war.” Danny demanded in a terrifying shadow of his ghostly wail.
“What, no, the ghosts don’t have any sort of leader or structure. They’re completely disorganized,” Agent W insisted.
“That’s not true,” Deadman said, shaking his head. “Ghosts follow the strong and have always been a monarchy. We haven’t had an active king in centuries, since the last one went mad but it is well known that, when he is ready to, Phantom will be able to claim the throne. He is not lying about his position in the Infinite Realms and many spirits will follow him to war should he command it.”
“Including you?” Batman asked in a tone of mild curiosity that wasn’t fooling anyone that actually knew him.
“I recognize Phantom’s authority. The only reason I didn’t bow and acknowledge him when he answered the Justice League’s call the first time was that he asked me not to. More importantly many others, including multiple Ancients, recognize his authority and will follow him if he asks even if he is not yet the true king. His threats are not idle.”
“He should not be making threats at all! This is a diplomatic meeting,” One of the leaders exclaimed indignantly.
“Oh is it?” Danny asked, raising his eyebrows. “Because it sounded like what you were about to do was excuse and pardon their crimes against me and my people and offer them more resources. If that’s not what’s happening and you were about to mete out proper consequences then by all means, carry on and prove me wrong,” Danny said with a ‘go on’ gesture of one hand and leaned back in his chair, looking down his nose at the assembly.
Silence hung awkward and heavy over the room, which was all the confirmation Danny needed of the bad direction things were starting to go. He tried very hard not to fidget under the eyes of so many people. He knew that he was the prince, he was going to be the king overseeing basically an entire dimension with other monarchs and leaders under him, he was of a higher rank than anyone here! If only he wasn’t still so young, with so much more to learn. Speaking of which...
“How do you people deal with crimes like imprisonment and torture without cause? There are punishments for these things aren’t there?” Danny asked, cocking his head. He’d never paid much attention to politics, and what little he knew about politics didn’t really give him much hope for how this would be handled.
“Of course there are,” Diana said calmly, once again trying to force the room to move on or get left behind. He really did admire her ability to control the room as much as she did. “Since there is no question of the crimes the Ghost Investigation Ward did commit, the only question is what the consequences will be.” She looked around, but it seemed this time her attempt to nudge the leaders along had failed.
“With all due respect, ‘Your Majesty’,” Agent W directed at Danny, not even trying to hide her skepticism and contempt of his title. It made Danny bristle and got his hackles up immediately. To her credit, she didn’t flinch under his glowing glare. “It’s not our job to protect your people, we need to protect our own.”
Danny heard a few murmurs of agreement, he looked down for a moment thinking about that and trying not to bite his lip. He should stay, he should try to argue further and come to a peaceful solution, but he had been doing that for years! He had always just avoided the humans who hunted him, he had barely even defended himself from them for years, and he was done trying to be nice, to play by their rules.
“Right,” He said, standing up and surveying the collective leaders. “Who agrees with her perspective?” He asked scanning the collective.
There was a moment's hesitation before hands started to raise. He nodded firmly and looked back at Agent W. “Good, you protect your people,” he sneered, “ and I’ll do the same. Red Hood, Phantasm, let’s go,” Danny said and turned away, taking Hood’s hand and pulling him out through the wall, Phantasm followed. When Danny noticed Deadman looking torn, Danny gave him a small smile; “Stay with your team, there should still be one of us in the room. If they come to their senses let me know.”
He left the room through the wall and let invisibility cloak them as he grabbed Phantasm as well and flew straight up into the sky, not so high that Jason would struggle to breath but far enough they’d be guaranteed privacy. He let go of Phantasm since she could float on her own but kept Jason held close so gravity could not reclaim them.
“So, you’re not just giving up,” Jason said casually, “So, you have a plan?”
“Yes I have a plan,” Phantom agreed with a solemn nod. “It’s not my first choice, and I don’t really want to talk about it in case it fails. If it works I’ll let you know, if not you can help me brainstorm a plan B. Okay?” He glanced at the two of them, Jason didn’t hesitate in agreeing, Phantasm looked worried, but she nodded too. “Thank you. Phantasm take Jason please, you two stay put. I need to go… get something, and I have a feeling they’ll be calling us back soon once they see the storm they’ve unleashed on themselves.” He said with a thin smile.
“Right?” Phantasm said, she still sounded uncertain but she offered Jason her hand, and when he took it she took over keeping gravity at bay.
Danny smiled and drifted closer, kissing Jason’s helmet softly. “I’ll be back soon, just trust me okay?” He asked, ruffling Ellie’s hair.
“I always trust you, Cub,” Jason said, sounding tired but fond even through the helmet’s modulators.
“Just… don’t do anything stupid string-bean,” Ellie sighed.
“I’ll try pipsqueak,” Danny agreed before speeding away from both of them.
He needed to find his way back into the Ghost Zone but that wouldn’t be easy but it was far from impossible. There were natural portals opening up somewhere in the galaxy all the time, and Danny could get back in contact with Wulf somehow if he needed to. How he wasn’t sure, but he was on a time crunch so he had better figure it out fast. He didn’t want to leave Ellie and Jason hanging and time was of the essence. He had a feeling he could sense portals if he really tried, other ghosts seemed to know where they were after all! He just needed to get away from any distractions, to where his mind was clearest and his core shone the brightest, and for him that would always be space.
Once he was far enough away that the earth was a frisbee amongst the stars Danny settled into a cross legged position and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath he didn’t need and exhaled slowly, trying to remember what little he knew about meditation and, like, opening one’s third eye.
“Alright portal, where are you,” He murmured rolling his shoulders, only to jump out of his skin when he heard a crackle and boom right under him. He shot up as he opened his eyes, half expecting an attack only to see a swirling green portal directly under him. “Great, of course,” He sighed, and let himself drop into it.
The green resolved into the large foyer of the ghost kings palace surrounded by the observants and a few ancients.
“We’ve been waiting for you,” Chorused the observants.
“Great, how long have you guys been watching me? Fucking weirdos,” Danny muttered, but he couldn’t stay angry as Frostbite cheered and rushed in to hug him, scooping him up in a bearhug that would have cracked a rib if he had any. Clockwork followed more slowly, moving slowly and leaning on his cane, a thin smile on his elderly lips.
“It is good to see you, Young One. I'm sorry I know you haven’t had an easy time. I’ve been watching over you but didn’t feel it was possible for me to step in. Despite it all, you’ve done really well,” Clockwork said. He looked nervous, and Danny couldn’t blame him, he couldn’t count the number of times he had cursed Clockwork when things were at their worst, for not intervening to save him, but now…
“It's alright, I made it out and I found a new purpose. I assume if you had saved me I would have just spiralled or something like that?” He asked with a crooked smile that was really more of a grimace. It wasn't really okay, it would never be okay that Danny had lost his family and a part of him would never forgive Clockwork for having had the power to stop it and didn't. But he had also learned there was no point in holding Clockwork to human or present focused morals, he had his reasons and felt justified. Trying to hold Clockwork accountable would be counterproductive and maddening, he did trust Clockwork meant well.
“Something like that,” Clockwork agreed, mirroring Danny’s expression as he reversed into his child form. The expression looked very odd on his child-like face.
“We've been waiting for you,” the Observants chorused again, apparently impatient with the reunion. “Are you ready to take the crown?”
“Wow hello to you too,” Danny sassed, rolling his eyes at the ridiculous collective of giant eyeballs. “Yes, I'm ready,” Danny agreed, standing straight and holding his head high. He looked sure, even though he really wasn’t, but there was no putting this off any longer. “Release Pariah Dark and I'll be waiting for him in the world of our last battle.”
“That is not how-”
“I don't care if that's not how it's done, that's how I'm going to do it,” Danny interrupted the Observants. He really hasn't spent much time with them after his first defeat of Pariah and his capture but he was already familiar with the phrase.
“It is tradition to-” they started again and Danny interrupted with a growl.
“If I'm going to be king, this is a good time to get in the habit of obeying me. Release him, I'm sure he'll want revenge so he can find me in the world of our last confrontation and I'll defeat him properly this time, on my terms,” Danny insisted, bearing his teeth in a snarl. He knew that they weren't pleased, but he didn't care, he didn't plan on his rule to be dictated by trading so they could get used to it.
The Observants didn't have any mouths but he was sure that if they did they would look like they'd just bitten into a lemon. He'd never really understood why they were like this, Pariah Dark couldn't have been particularly obedient to tradition, but maybe he’d been gone so long they'd forgotten what it was actually like to have a ruler and only had the idealized version from inside their own minds. “As you wish,” they agreed sourly.
“That’s better,” Danny smiled thinly, there was little joy in this situation but he could find some in pissing off these uptight bastards. He nodded to them and looked back at Clockwork, he must know what Danny was planning and Danny was a bit surprised Clockwork didn't seem to have any objections. When he had intervened before it had been to stop Danny going ‘bad’. Maybe this time was different because Danny wasn’t planning to cause the damage himself, just… allow it to happen.
“You will be a good kind Danny,” Clockwork said softly. “Sometimes a leader has to compromise their own values to do what’s best for their people.”
“Ya, I’m not sure that’s what I’m doing Clockwork, those people hurt me worst of all, I think I have some pretty personal motivations,” Danny said bitterly.
“Even so,” Clockwork said with a shrug and a knowing smile that set Danny’s teeth on edge.
“Right,” He grumbled as he turned and walked back through the still open portal before turning and slashing through it from the other side. They would have a hard time opening another in the exact same location, not that Danny was planning on sticking around here, but the less of the universe and the more of Earth Pariah would have to rip through before he found Danny the better. He grinned far too wide and rocketed back towards earth.
He had done it! Pariah would be right on his heels and that bastard had no respect for human life. He would give the stupid humans something to fear~ By the end of the day they’d be groveling and begging for Danny to save them, and maybe he even would, if they asked very nicely.
He stopped on a dime next to his fiance and little sister again. They both jumped at his sudden appearance which made Danny laugh, Jason had taken off his helmet and his look of shock was particularly amusing! It was usually so hard to sneak up on the hypervigilant man. Danny reached out to take Jason back from Ellie and settled himself comfortably in Jason's lap while Jason wrapped his arms firmly around Danny's waist so he wouldn't fall. Ellie mimed gagging at the display of affection but didn't say anything.
“So, what did you do Danny? You weren't gone long enough to have gotten that far. Did it not work out?” Jason asked curiously and Danny gave him an impish smile.
“Oh no, it worked. I'm sure the Justice League will be calling us in just a few minutes once word gets to them about what just entered their dimension.” Even as Danny was talking he felt the change, the wave of dark energy that had just broken through the barrier between worlds. He didn't react, but it made Ellie stumble.
Danny remembered this dark energy from last time he'd fought Pariah but he had thought that was just because he had been nearby. It was disconcerting to know it could be felt at such a distance by those sensitive enough. Danny was sure he could handle this, but for a moment he was still worried he'd bitten off more than he could chew.
“Danny, what did you do?” She asked, sounding seriously worried.
“I released Pariah Dark,” he told her plainly, no point being cryptic now since this wasn't exactly a fun surprise. Her look of horror was cold water dumped on the burning coals of his rage and he winced.  “Go back to your team Starlight, keep them safe but don't get yourself in trouble. This is… not going to be pretty,” he told her gently. He wasn't ashamed of what he was doing, not really. But he did worry about how she would feel about him afterwards, especially if one of her friends was hurt in the fall out.
Jason's phone buzzed and he pulled it out of his pocket as Ellie rushed away from the two of them, back towards Titans tower. Danny watched her go, biting his tongue so he wouldn’t call her back and selfishly try to keep her safe. She and Jason were the ones he loved most but it would be selfish to hold her safely prisoner, especially when Jason's family was bound to be out there too.
“That can't be them already?” Danny asked Jason worriedly, forcing himself to look away from Phantasm’s retreating form to check the notification on Jason’s phone. She was strong and clever, she’d be alright, he needed to have faith in her.
“It's not, it's an emergency alert. He didn’t waste any time fucking shit up did he?” Jason asked, unlocking his phone and opening social media. It was already starting to flood with half corrupted videos and pictures of Pariah Dark and his army of skeletons. He had landed somewhere in the US by the looks of things, which Danny was glad of, and all the videos were full of screaming and fire. Occasionally he bellowed demands for Danny to show himself, but they were in ghost speak so none of the humans understood what he was asking for.
“Damn that's one big mother fucker,” Jason whistled. “So that's the mad king?”
“Yes,” Danny sighed, leaning his head against Jason’s chest. “Now we just see how long it takes for those idiots down there to realize the GIW's weapons are like water guns to him. I'm not going to negotiate with them anymore, but I will accept their surrender and once they've agreed to all my terms I'll deal with him.”
“Isn’t he coming for you? Why’s he in America?” Jason asked as he kept refreshing his social media feed.
“He can’t tell where I am, I could find him but I’m less flashy then he is, and I got used to minimizing my ecto-signature to avoid the GIW. Pretty sure he’s hoping that if he causes destruction he’ll smoke me out since last time I fought him it was to protect my town. Not this time, it’s not my job to protect these people anymore, they’ve made it very clear they don’t want me too,” Danny sneered, rolling his eyes.
Jason nodded gravely, and hugged Danny more tightly, he knew this hadn't been an easy choice. Danny nestled in against Jason's chest, his eyes glowing brighter than usual with anger and sorrow.
“How are you feeling, Moonlight?” Jason asked softly. They had some time as the GIW rushed to arrive on scene and prove how useless they were. “This means that you’re going to be king after this doesn’t it?”
“I'm not sure how I feel,” Danny sighed, biting his lip for a moment before continuing. “I wish it felt better, more righteous. I wanted revenge but most of the people being hurt had no idea what their government was even doing, and they're suffering for it, so I can't really feel good about it anymore. But I also don't exactly feel bad about it either, you know? And a part of me wishes I did because I tried so hard to be good when I was younger and how little I care now feels like a failure.
“But then again I guess it was Sam that really insisted I use my powers for good. I was a teenage boy and other than protecting my friends my first instincts were to sneak into the girls locker room, and douse my bully in half spoiled meat. Maybe I was just never that good.” He sighed, hanging his head and trying to swallow down the uncomfortable knot of shame and dread in his stomach.
“As for being king, I never really wanted to be king, but Clockwork seems to think that’ll just make me a better king, I hope he’s right. And I do think I'm ready, with you, your siblings, and Ellie I finally feel like I have a firm foundation again. Your proposal felt like the last puzzle piece I needed to feel whole, I'm as ready as I'll ever be.”
“You are good Danny, and you'll be a good king, but even good people have their breaking point. It's their fault they pushed you to yours. The Justice League and the Teen Titans will be on the scene to help evacuate soon and I’m sure it won’t be too long before those idiots down there will realize they’re up shit’s creek and call for help soon.”

If someone asked danny what he thought his life in the future would look like he would have said something like “Of course I will be an astronaut!” Or something to that effect
But what he did not expect was for him to have a protective and strong ass husband [Who is phantom and now the Ghost king and isn’t that something] with a little toddler who is 2 ( Dani who will be called dawn in this ) and a little protective toddler who is 4 (Dan who is called dusk) who he loves more than anything
And gain a ghost family who adores him (but for the price of another) who put up with his husband and adore him as well as spoil his Sun and Moon rotten
Now let’s see how this become as it has shall we?
====================================
Danny was having a bad day, first he almost miss class again [due to a mix of being to exhausted to get up on his on from fighting ghosts all night and with jazz being busy with college hunting so she couldn’t wake him up and his parents don’t even know what time he wakes up at for school]
Second Dash wouldn’t leave him alone and it was becoming hard to keep himself..well not really himself but recently he’s been feeling this that for a better word are not his to feel like when a ghost hit a bit to hard to feels rage and protectiveness wash over him anyway back to this.
Third Sam and Tucker were both out for separate reasons for Sam her parents had some kind of rich people thing to do and dragged her with them and tucker with his family were going to visit some relatives so yeah Danny had no one to hang out with.
Third apparently they had a test in English that nobody told Danny about so he knows he is going to fail that and some other things but it would get to long if we bought all that up but you get the point
So when Danny gets back home and all he wants to do is go to his room change into phantom and hug/chill himself out who is anyone to deny him [Like with the feeling feels that weren’t his, yeah he got the habit after a very bad day where his parents shot him in the back of the leg and it hurt bad so he hugged himself and apparently it was the right thing to do because he started to feel better! Not physically no it still hurt like a motherfucker but emotionally yes so he started to do that when ever he felt he needed comfort]
So Danny goes to his bedroom [not noticing the tall orange figure following him up] and closes the door [it was left ajar just enough for someone to look in] and changes into phantom but he hears the door open the door and he turns to see his dad looking at him
And the next thing he knows is a red hot pain coming from his side and blacks out
=====================================
It has been a week a long and painful week since his parents found out
After Jack [NEVER dad never again] he brought him down to the lab and tied him to a table and did…unspeakable things to him…have been doing this to him for a week
After two days Danny heard two more wails and he recognized the voices it was dan and Dani! [his children] and they were hurting them, Danny tired to get their attention to him to get them away from them but the damage was done and Dani and Dan went into their cores due to the damage but thank the ancients the cores were basically a undamageable and none of their weapons work on them
So that turns all their attention on him and how that would be their downfall [and the whole dimensions with them]
On day five is when Danny’s human “half” gives out due to no food or water and with the torture Maddie and Jack have inflicted on him it wasn’t really a surprise but what was when phantom and Danny unfazed and phantom was pissed they hurt Danny [his husband] they hurt Dani and Dan [his children] they weren’t getting of easy
So well they were fighting the now fully ghost Danny gets out from his restraints and grabs Dani and dans cores and pushes them inside him to heal them by essentially force feeding their cores clean ecto
Than phantom grabs him and pulls him fast to the portal and the go through and as they do they destroy the portal [not knowing that in doing that they let out all the built-up ecto and that essentially bombs the dimension taking everything with it]
And now that brings Danny here after healing and when the children cores got enough ecto that they could come out [as well as speed running a very loving relationship that is still going very strong]
And now Danny is very happy with his life now or well after-life
=====================================
~{ Now onto the DCU part! }~
When Damian got into a fight with father he expected to be benched as Robin for a few days or a week what he was not expecting was for father to assigned him to go and watch a warehouse that is known for not having been used for anything for longer than Damien himself has been alive [it’s due to a cult that hangs around there not that the bats know that]
So now here is Damien tide up in surprisingly good rope that he can not break free from in the middle of a summoning circle and waiting for the other to get here while the cultist surrounds the circle and start to speak in a language Damian does not understand and Damian doesn’t believe anything will happen
Until the summoning circle turns into a portal and Damian falls through as the others get there to help him
The last thing Damien remembers before he passes out is someone yelling after a while Damian wakes up in a bed…? A very soft large bed with a lot of space and as Damien takes in his surroundings he hears a door opening and as he turns his head to look he sees a tall man…? Woman? Person let’s go with that
They walk over to him and start cooing? At him and fretting over him [✨Mom instincts✨] and stuff a few days? [time is weird Damian has found] and the person has started to bring him with them as they walk around [Danny wants the little child to get some air and cleaner Ecto] and he has met the person’s children who are named dusk and dawn respectively and they have taken him as their older brother he believes this is due to the person [who he now knows his name is Solar, it’s not just everyone calls him that due to his space obsession] calls him his Stars much like how he calls this children his Sun and Moon
And with meeting Solar with Dawn and Dusk it is a guarantee that Damien was to meet Solar infamous husband Phantom [who he has heard about from the whispers of some of the working staff] and it goes pretty well [not that Phantom can do shit to this child his husband has already taken him in as his own] so he lets the child stay for how long as he likes
Meanwhile with the Batfam
The Batfam are freaking TF out about where Damian is and is he safe OMG-
=====================================
~{ And that’s all I can really do with the DCU part I am very tired if you can’t tell and now onto the details! }~
Now for Danny outfit I’m thinking something like this
Tumblr media
With this over coat
Tumblr media
And for hair/hair ornaments
Tumblr media
And for phantom you know the drill blue-greenish skin, white hair and pointy ears
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
~{ And that is about it! Sorry if the last part is weird I am very tired and sleepy anyway I hope you guys like this and see you gremlins later byeeee }~

Dcxdp Danny phantom and klarion are friends.
Danny as the ghost king who loves to prank loves teaching a younger appearance klarion all kinds of fun gags and tricks of magical nature. It's like the younger sibling he always wanted. And is a nice break from some of his royal duties. But things have been a little busier than usual they haven't gotten to really get out and have fun. Danny is 30 looks 20. Klarion is looking 14. But in the thousands for age.
Klarion is bored and upset. He wants time with Danny to himself. No interruption from clockwork or the eternal. Other ghosts. No one. It's not fair. He needs a plan to sneak Danny out of the infinite realm, hide him and not be the fall guy when they get caught. Because it's clockwork they will be caught it's the when. He needs someone else to do the summoning work. But who and how.
He lands on John Constantine. Clockwork doesn't like him much. And Danny inherited all the old kings claims. So he be able use that if things got dicey. And klarion is not a fan either of the jerk. To buddy buddy with nabou. So he has a fall guy to blame for the summoning. Just needs to setup a prank so good that John thinks he has no choice but to summon someone who could destroy the world.
Takes him a week to land on act like I'm gonna do it so he has to first. Easy. And he can brag to a bunch of villains to really drive the urgency. Perfect.
Plan worked like a charm. Maybe to good though. John got a bunch of heroes to help. No good no good. John is lieing to his super jerk friends. Klarion can see the seal. It will make Danny weaker and lock him to the jerk like a dog on a leash. Not to the artifact he said they could lock him away with. He's gotta fix this quick. He drops in the pawns he recruited to distract. While discreetly changing the ruin on the summoning without mucking it up so it doesn't work. All while fighting zantana, and racing the circle lighting up.
The summoning is completed. But something obviously went very very wrong. Klarion has teakle distract zantana while he goes over the summoning again to see what he shifted. Oopsie. The ruin for shrinking power turned to shrinking age. But thats ok. It can be fixed later. Maybe. Probably. He didn't get the teather changed before it set. But that's an easy fix by killing Constantine. But his friend is here. And now they can really play. So it's all good. Klarion is ecstatic. So much so teakle runs to him as he shrinks causing one of the supers to over swing on an attack on his familiar.
But Danny needs a minute. As he blinks wearily on his feet. Rubbing at his face. Ugh summoning. He hates summoning. And this had to be a strong one. Because he couldn't resist like most of them. Whatever once the brain fog clears he'll be good and can really give the jerks who did a real stern talking to. Or maybe he'll scare them. That sounds better. Standing infront of him is a blonde man looking like a dirty drunk cop dective from TV. Who is gapping at him as a cigarette burns on the ground at his feet. This guy has to be like a gaint too cause Danny has to really crane his head back to look up at his face. There is a bunch of commotion going on but he's to focuses on this weird feeling he has towards this weirdo. Who seems like he's confused. Maybe it was an accident. Whatever. Danny still isn't happy. He puts his hands on his hips. "Hey jerk face! What do you think your doing?" Then Danny's eyes went wide. "Oh by the ancients is that my voice! What's wrong with my voice!" Danny now clutched his throat before waving his arms wildly at the creepy man. "What did you to me you weirdo! I sound like a baby!"
"It a bloody fucking child."
"It's bad to cuss infront of kids Constantine." Someone else says outside the circle.
Danny's head snaps their direction. Danny's eyes widen as he puts his hand into view looking at himself panic taking over and he looks around at all these tall people looking at him or fighting. He opens his mouth to scream in fear or frustration he doesn't know till he hears a voice he recognizes.
"Don't wail, don't wail!" Danny closes his mouth and looks around for the source.
"Klarion?"
"Sorry my bad. I messed up change the circle so it wouldn't weaken you. And well oopsie " klarion rushed into the circle hugging little Danny tight. "But you are here. So now we can play." Klarion gasped as he pulled back from Danny. "I can be the big brother now!"
"Noooooo, klarion I was already a little brother. I wanted to be a big brother more." Danny whined. His white hair flopping over as he rolled his head in complaint.
"To bad. I'm the big brother now. We are gonna have so much fun. You just have to get rid of this looser so we can go do our thing." Klarion gestured towards Constantine.

Inspired by a fanfic called "The Ghost called Molly McGee" by dat_physics_boi
This is a au of Danny Phantom with the usual ghost king au stuff, but with one thing added, the ADVISOR.
The advisor of the ghost world is the one entity that every ghost ( even the ghost king) listens to because even though the advisor is not strong as the ghost king in fact they are strong as a regular ghost even though their portal skill is very great, they has a power that when any ghost is not listening to the advice from the advisor, the advisor can install dread as the ghost get more fearful as they don't listen, until the ghost finally listens to the advisor and the dread stops, even the ghost king and the ancient powerful ghost are not immune to the dread. This is a necessity for the ghost king for that not even a wise king is all knowing and prepared, so the advisor is there to make sure that the ghost king is on the right path like preventing war and can get the king to change laws to prevent bad time from happening. Of course even the advisor can be corrupted by power as the previous advisor with Pariah Dark is corrupted. While Pariah Dark is imprisoned, the previous advisor was still free and on the loose, WAS free until they are destroyed by a... What do you call a ghost about to be resurrected by his friends ( no seriously do any phantom have a term for resurrected ghost), the resurrected ghost ( let call him John Scroll) is a (teenage) paranormal investigator resurrecting for the 2nd time this week as he is killed by vampire (again) as he saw ghost like thing as the entity saw John Scroll and commented him to take the entity to the castle of the ghost king, John politely refused and feel dread as the entity keep demanding John, as the dread keep going higher and higher John decide the only thing to make it stop, exorcise the entity entirely, and he got a lot of blessings and 'magic' to exorcise the entity just before his resurrection is done. Even though no one saw the interaction, the consequences of the action about to be started as the advisor role can be claimed by combat like the king role can be also claimed, and John is now the new advisor even though he is alive (again).
John Scroll is a paranormal investigator who is equivalent to a mid level dnd character with decent abilities that help with the paranormal and supernatural stuff, even though he died a lot, and he hates war as he and his friends (who is a paranormal investigation squad) stop an event that will start a vampire frenzy and he died (again) as one of his friend is casing a revive spell ( which it take an hour or two to cast) and John is back (again) but something feel off, but before they can think about it the van of spookiness ( it a tricked out van for the team) arrived and the team (let's call them the spook squad or the spook) have to leave. A couple of weeks later as the spooks are bored while waiting for the next investigation job, a portal form under John and he fell into a council room full of a lot of ghosts and he noticed that from the explaining ghost king ( John learns the ghost king name is Danny Phantom ) that John defeats the entity that John learns that they were the last advisor and John gain the advisor power and responsibility (he gain an average ghost power like etcoblast, become invisible, and getting portal making power which he is able to anywhere, even go to an ghost free place) and John just after learning it he just order the ghost council to give john information about the reason ghost goes to the living realm and also order the council and Danny to only call him for important thing like if the ghost king is about to declare war or making a stupid law like barring people from the afterlife,( if you ask John why he chose that situation he will tell you about a time of a insane mutated ghost, which it killed him (again) in the past.)while John is with his friend doing paranormal/supernatural investigator stuff.
Remember what I said about John Scroll hates war, I am thinking of a situation about how Danny has enough about the GIW and the anti ecto law and want to start a war in front of the justice league ( having to add them to get more tag) and as he is speaking
Danny "angry" Phantom:" as you didn't notice about this law and as you didn't stop the Guys in white, I will confirm you are our enem-"
A cough is hard as a masked figure is staring at Danny.
Danny Phantom:" Oh uh advisor I am just making a decoration of war and I am-"
The advisor (it's John Scroll):"no you are not. What you will do is very simple. You will take back what you said about starting a war and just talk about simple things like peacefully getting the justice league help.
Danny Phantom:" I have to start a war so the world can LEAR-"
The advisor stared at Danny disappointed. And unknowingly to the justice league (except John Constantine who knows about the ghost realm thing ) using the dread power on Danny.
Danny just stands there for the moment thinking about what he says until he feels more and more dread as he is thinking about war less and more peaceful solutions to stop feeling dreadful.
Danny Phantom:"Fine I will stop with the war decoration and get their help with the anti-ecto law. As his feelings of dread disappear.
The Flash:" uhhh what just happened?"
John Constantine:" what happened is that the advisor does not want war and force the ghost king to listen to him. And if you don't follow the advisor command you feel dread."
Superman:"Wait how do you know that?"
John Constantine:" why else am I still trying to make a spell that makes me immune to dread from the advisor."
By the way, tell me what happens when John Constantine learns that the first name of the new advisor is also John what will happen?

Alright, you make a fair few points but I still have a few disagreements with your logic. Mr. Pirateking.
Like I said, I get where you're coming from, but nobody here is claiming to be an actual writer on par with the source material so you honestly should not have such ridiculous expectations.
Besides like I said before, established character/personality or not, people are allowed to make their own interpretations based on the specific versions they like and substitute whatever they don't with their own ideas just as official writers of the source material do constantly. If people want characters with their own little headcanons or fandom inspired tropes, it's their story they have full creative control.
If you don't like it that's fine, but that doesn't give you the right to bash other people's work over it just because it's not your cup of tea.
And to be fair, I've seen like dozens of prompts on just the DC side that cover stuff like Brucie Wayne that, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm like... 90% convinced might have been inspired by the DC Super Hero Girls version of the Bruce Wayne.
Tumblr media
As for John Constantine, I mean that's fair, but I think it's more often used more to signify how dangerous Danny and other powerful Infinite Realms beings are, though that usually applies to mainly just Ghost King Danny or Ancient of (Space, Protection, etc) Danny. Speaking of which...
Regarding Danny being stronger than all those other deities and characters, let's take a step back and break down powerscaling.
Let me set the record straight, as both a Fanfiction author and someone who has been a member of the VS community for a long while now, ever since little me stumbled across the original Mario vs Sonic Death Battle, powerscaling itself is a very interesting topic to me.
There are two very different types of Powerscaling, External and Internal.
In terms of External Powerscaling, which is the type most people think about when they hear powerscaling, heavily associated with who would win debates. Danny and the DC Universe honestly depends which incarnations of the latter you prefer to focus on.
For example Danny, via scaling to Dan's fusion with Clockwork as of AGIT, is at best Multiversal+ while most DC Heralds rank at Complex Multiversal to Outerversal depending on the character.
However in these fics that doesn't even actually matter since these fics, and stories in general crossover or otherwise, don't typically write with this type of powerscaling in mind.
Internal Powerscaling is what actually matters here and the kind you see in all sorts of series. Not caring about the actual specifics but instead characters ranked in-universe and who should be stronger than who.
Let me give a few DPxDC examples regarding Danny's power relative to the DC Universe and such.
Fic A. Danny is a member of the Justice League, he's stated to be on their heavy hitters but never outright stated if he's stronger than them or not. Which means he should be comparable to members like Wonder Woman, Shazam, and Superman.
Fic B. Dan is stated to have defeated the entire Justice League in the timeskip of years that passed, which given that Danny surpassed him and defeated him by the end of The Ultimate Enemy. This means Danny upscales the Justice League's most powerful members by an unknown margin.
Fic C. Ghost King Danny is being summoned by cultists and the Justice League Dark members are afraid of the fallout regarding what the Ghost King, believing it to be Pariah Dark, will do to their world. This implies that Pariah Dark and by extension Ghost King Danny, should be massively superior to at least most things the Justice League Dark have seen before, making Danny by proxy at least comparable to those like Lucifer, Trigon, and so on.
Internal Powerscaling is incredibly important in stories for narrative tension and to show who scales to what and how strong each character should be relative to others.
The Worf Effect especially is something series like Dragon Ball love to abuse in this regard with Internal Powerscaling, making a new unknown character dangerous by just making them near effortlessly defeat or match with an established character.
Though worth noting is stats themselves are not the "be-all, end-all" of determining a fight, as certain factors can allow weaker parties to overcome stronger foes such as being a far more skilled fighter, exploiting weaknesses, or through hax in some way.
But if Internal Powerscaling did not exist at all in these stories, why should the audience care about anything when everyone doesn't scale to anything.
Why should the Justice League Dark be afraid of the Ghost King at all, if the king isn't within the same leagues of power as their most powerful foes?
Why should Danny be afraid his own power, if his bad future self didn't manage to kill heroes like Superman or Wonder Woman?
Why should the Justice League be afraid of summoning the Ghost King, if the threat they're fighting doesn't warrant summoning the king in the first place?
Besides that's with more serious stories in general. Keep in mind most OP Danny fics, especially with Ancient and Ghost King, typically play the overpowered part as a gag in more comedy centric stories where it's just having fun.
If you don't like the stories or fanon concepts in them, that's fine and I can understand. But powerscaling accuracy is not something that should actually matter in a fanfiction setting, just as it doesn't matter in official crossovers.
In that regard, a certain Stan Lee quote comes to mind, "The person who would win, is the person the scriptwriter wants to win."
While it's very much a quote I've seen people used to try and shit on the vs community even if that misrepresents what the entire spirit of vs debating, in the context of writing a story in general it's actually amazing advice. Writers are not settling an argument of who's stronger, writers are telling a story for other people to enjoy.
It's not bad writing if John Constantine is afraid of the Ghost King, it's not bad writing if you write a DC character in a way that's different to any established canon just because you headcanon something, and it's not bad writing if Danny is stronger than a bunch of DC characters, Ghost King, Ancient, or not...
Listen, I can respect your opinion if you dislike specific concepts in the fandom... But I strongly disagree with your stance regarding powerscaling and character writing, especially when it goes against the entire spirit of not just creative writing... But a core fundamental of storytelling in general!
If this doesn't at least get you to reconsider your viewpoints even a little bit... Well, nobody can say I never tried.
Merchant Ziro out!
I love how Danny is the DPxDC fandom's (at this point is its own fandom) personal Barbie
He's the ghost king, he's a mechanic, he's a runaway, he's an ancient, he's an engineer, he's a barista, he's a regular guy, he's an eldritch being, he has trauma beyond comparison, he has no trauma at all, he's a child, he's a teenager, he's in his 40's, he's gay, he's straight, he's bisexual, he's whatever suits the character he's being shipped with, he's Damian's twin, he's a clone, he's Dani's dad, he's Dani's brother, he's both at the same time
He's truly made of play dough

DP X DC WRITING PROMPT #10
(#) = Notes at end of post
TW: mentions of human experimentation and blood
The Sapphire Stone Sits Highest on the Throne
The GIW have done the unthinkable. They've captured Phantom, King of the Infinite Realms and ruler of all who reside within it. The government organization tortured and experimented on Danny so much and for so long that Danny was forced to recede into his core. While a ghost's core is relatively strong by itself --only another ghost of similar strength could shatter it-- it's also extremely vulnerable to misuse if left in the wrong hands.
The GIW use the King's core to ravage Amity Park --uncaring if human citizens got in their way-- as well as the Ghost Zone itself. The Ancients combine their efforts to search for the lost, little king, desperately trying to find Danny's core and take it back from the blood and ectoplasm stained hands of the agents. As a result of their dogged search, the Ancients bring worldwide destruction down upon the Earth in their hunt for every single white suit agent remaining, scurrying from one hiding place to another like rats in the walls of a dilapidated house.
One by one, almost every agent was hunted down and bound in unbreakable chains of ice, awaiting their trials for the atrocities they committed against the Infinite Realms and its King. The only one left is the leader of the organization itself, the one who holds Danny's core. The leader, however, is extremely slippery and has managed to evade capture for months now, going so far as to throw their own men to the wolves if it meant an easy escape with the jewel-blue heart of a scared, grieving, and injured child.
At this point though, the Ancients have caused so much destruction and natural disasters, that the Justice League has no choice but to step in. At first, the JL actively try to fight the Ancients, not fully understanding the situation but having little luck in actually hitting any of them regardless. It isn't until John Constantine runs onto the battlefield like a bat out of hell and skids to a stop right smack dab in the middle of the fight that things change. He's out of breath, his hair is in disarray, he smells heavily of smoke and alcohol, and that's definitely a still fresh coffee stain on his weather beaten trenchcoat along with red blood painting his knuckles.
Normally, one small human wouldn't be able to stop the wrath of the Ancients when they've set their sights on something. This instance, however, was very different. As Constantine raised his hands up towards the rampaging Ancients about to unleash their fury on the JL, one thing managed to capture every single one of their attention.
That being the weakly glowing, sapphire-like core held in one of Constantine's outstretched hands(1 & 2) and the faint, echoing cries of a child begging the Ancients to put an end to the carnage they've unleashed upon the world.
Notes:
(1) Constantine gives little explanation on how he got his hands on Danny's core. Little do the JL know, it was just pure, dumb luck. He ran into the leader of the GIW right as the bastard was leaving a coffee shop. Coffee got spilled all over Constantine and, being slightly drunk off his ass, he decides to deck the person in the pretentious white suit and knocks him out in one shot. Constantine's about to walk away when he hears a child crying. He finds Danny's core in one of the downed guy's pockets and has a panic attack when he immediately realizes what it is. Danny explains what's going on and Constantine books it towards where he can sense a large amount of necrotic energy gathering. The rest is history.
(2) ALSO, sapphire is a pretty significant gem. According to the internet, the sapphire symbolizes wisdom, royalty, prophecy and divine favour. It's a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgement. Which just fits Danny PERFECTLY in this prompt, imo.

Shared sensation part.3
Danny couldnt feel his link anymore, his bond had completely dissolved when he died. Now even if him and his soulmate reconnected they could never revive their bond.
Danny still only felt numbness, well exept when he got electrocuted, hit with ghost hunting tech, or hurt with ecto plasma. Yeah not the best to feeling to only feel pain, but sometimes danny felt the pain was the only thing that kept him grounded.
It's been 3 years since he became phantom and 2 years since he became ghost king. And danny has learned a lot about being a ghost. Like 1) ghosts where suposed to still have their soulmate in death. The reson Danny aparntly didnt keep his bond was because he was rejected, at least that is what frostbite told him.
2) ghosts are very protective of their soul bonds and danny is no exception to this. He feels his core screaming for its other half every second of every day. Somedays the only thing keeping him going is his protection and space obsession. But still somedays it felt like he was going to go insane.
At one point he tried to order clockwork to tell him where his soulmate was so he could find him and try and convince him they could still be togeather even without the ties of their soul bond. He wanted to tell his soulmate he would do anything for them, he would protect him if he stayed with him no matter the cost.
"Danny?" Sam questions looking at him with concern "you good?". Danny blinked and nodded, they where currently in Danny's lair in the zone because after his parents found out about him being phantom they didnt take it well and let's say the GIW got involved.
"I'm fine sam, I just feel empty" danny says leaning back into his throne. "I understand danny, when the GIW blocked mine and tucker's bond it felt like my world was ripped away, it felt like my soul was in a void, I dont know how you are still sane" sam says sitting in her own throne to his right.
As a members of phantoms council she, tucker, jazz, even wes had their own thrones beside danny. "I'm not sure if I sould call myself sane, my morals have become very sewed to human standards" danny sighed. "Well you got rejected by your soulmate, died, got cloned by a frootloop, and got vivisected by your parents plus some. I'd say it's only fair your morals are fucked" sam states.
Danny chuckled "how is elle?" Sam inquired "oh shes good, in Rome right now" danny says happy to share what is going on with his daughter. Elle was made from his DNA, his ectoplasm, she is his daughter and one of the only reasons he hasn't gone off the deep end yet.
Danny held the goblet of ecto dejecto to his lips when he felt it. Cold and smooth metal in his hand. Danny froze "danny what's wrong?" Sam asked concerned. "Its cold" danny mumbled "what-" "sam I can feel the cold, the texter of the goblet, how-" danny questioned.
He stated at the goblet in his hand in amazement. Danny felt his core whirl in utter joy. "How?" Danny asked no one in particular.
Danny felt it. His bond was back strong and fresh, but that wasnt physicly possable. It goes aginst everything. His soulmate rejected him, he died whith the rejection, it is impossible for their bond to reform. So how is his bond back.
You know what. Danny doesn't care how. He has his other half again. And by the ancients he refuses to loose them again. "Sam tell the others I'm taking momentary leave. You and tucker will be in charge while I'm gone" danny orders and she nods without questions.
Danny rose from his throne. He will fine his soulmate. And nothing was going to stop him.

Chapter 2
Danny, in a rather impressive bit of quick thinking and reflexes, phased himself and his moped through the city bus that stopped abruptly in front of him and then pulled over to the curb out of the way of the suddenly time-locked traffic.
“I wonder what that’s all about?” he murmured, looking around for Clockwork. The Ancient of Time, and for the last year or so Danny’s personal mentor and stand in parent-shaped authority figure, usually gave him slightly more warning before freezing the world around him. Or at the very least, Clockwork hadn’t frozen time while Danny was in the middle of traffic before. Then again, there was no reason to believe that the time freeze was for Danny. It was probably something unrelated and on the other side of the world. Danny was just immune to the time freezes since he kept a time medallion on, or more specifically, in him. Without knowing when things would start moving again, Danny moved onto the sidewalk and continued on his way. He didn’t want to be between cars and trucks and buses when they started moving again and there were very few pedestrians this late at night.
“Oh well,” he said, taking off again, “If it’s my business, I’ll find out about it later.”
Danny liked to think he had really matured since leaving home. He wasn’t so impulsive and was much better and minding his own business. Unfortunately, the entirety of the Infinite Realms had become “his business”. The mantle of King now rested firmly upon his shoulders. Won by combat when he kicked the ass of Pariah Dark, it had been laying in weight for him to be ready for it. Clockwork explained, in one of his mentoring sessions, that “ready” was a fluid concept which was more tied to Danny’s own self definition than any actual age or power level.
This was why when Danny had graduated high school and mentally stepped over the threshold between childhood and adulthood, the Realms had crowned him on the spot. It made for a very eventful graduation ceremony. His parents, along with his entire graduating class, watched in shock as the Crown of the Infinite Realms exploded into existence above him and then several of the Ancients appeared to congratulate him. Also promising their support to his eternal reign.
Only after Wes had broken the charged silence with a sharp “I Fucking TOLD YOU SO” did Danny realized he’d been forced into Phantom form at some point.
His half-life was very busy in the weeks and months following his coronation. His parents had been highly confused, but accepting. He’d always hoped their love for him would override their blind hatred of Phantom. It was nice to be right for once. Many of the older ghosts took issue with his new position of power but none were strong enough to press the issue. Only a few even tried. Vlad, predictably, had tried and failed. He’d tried his usual manipulation tactics. Attacking Danny in front of his parents to keep him distracted and off kilter. The tables turned when his parents, actually geniuses when they were given all the information and stopped letting their own biases get in their way, quickly put together that if Danny was Phantom, then Plasmius was Vlad. He was shocked when they began attacking him instead.
The fight had been, in a word, short.
Danny moved to Gotham for a change of scenery. Also it just made sense. Sam and Tucker were both headed to Gotham in the fall as well. They’d received very good paid internships with Dr. Pamela Isley and Wayne Enterprises respectively. Being the Ghost King kept his schedule too full and unpredictable to hold a job, but it also came with access to the royal treasury and untold wealth. Danny forced Vlad to funnel (or rather, launder) the money through several of his companies and bought an apartment block. The top floor was renovated into an open floor plan apartment for the three of them while the ground floor had a line of storefronts that they could develop overtime to produce income. Two additional floors in the middle were simply cleaned and left undeveloped for now. They had rough plans for a greenhouse and maybe a VR cafe. It would be sorted out over time. What they had already had quickly established his own mini-haunt for the three of them to live.
During the first week in Gotham, he’d found the Planetarium and started volunteering. It would help him get connected to his new city and give him some reprieve from the infinite paperwork of the Infinite Realms. Danny reasoned that if it had waited this long then he was in no rush to burn himself out getting it all done immediately. He had actually been heading home from the Planetarium when Clockwork had frozen everything. He would ask about it when they met next week if he didn’t find out before then.
Danny was walking through the door to their shared top floor apartment when time continued ticking and the sounds of the city kicked back in. Tucker jumped at his sudden appearance as Danny rejoined the active timestream. Despite the fact that Danny appearing out of thin air was a fairly normal occurrence, it still made Tucker jump every time.
“GAH! You HAVE to stop doing that! I feel like you’re doing it just to get to me at this point. It’s rude!”
Sam, steady as ever, gave him a wave as he set down his bag and keys. “Hey, how was your day?” She asked.
“Great, actually. Sorry Tucker, it wasn’t my fault this time. Clockwork stopped time for something. I didn’t see him so no clue what it was for.”
“A likely story.” Tucker grumbled before returning to his laptop.
“Well since Tucker is just gunna be grumpy-” Danny’s playful glare was lost on Tucker, already focused back on his laptop. “I’ll just tell you about the hottie I saw at the Planetarium today!” Danny headed over to the kitchen, dropping into a chair at the tall counter to watch Sam cook.
“Oh? Cute guy?” Sam asked with interest. “Do tell.”
“We had a school group come through. Now, usually that’s either tired college freshmen or noisy elementary schoolers and a bunch of teachers. But we got some variety today.” Sam nodded in acknowledgement as she stirred what look like sofritas and veggies. Danny could see the other taco ingredients off to the side. He did love taco tuesdays. “Apparently Gotham Academy decided to come through today. The high school. I think it was voluntary attendance because most everyone actually seemed interested in the tour. There was an adorable little kid, super prickly little guy named Damian. You’d have loved him. Apparently Damian Wayne? Asked great questions and actually listened to my answers. But the hottie was the chaperone with him. This man. MMMmmm,” Danny bit his lip for emphasis. “Had to be over six feet, with wide shoulders and thighs like oak trees. Ten of ten, would climb.”
“Danny!” Sam was scandalized. She hadn’t shown interest in boys or girls or romance at all. Certainly not sex. Danny found it fun to shock her once in a while.
“We talked while the kids took turns at the telescope. He was chaperoning the event because Damian, his little brother, recently took an interest and the school apparently couldn’t get enough teachers to do it after hours. Jason, his name is Jason by the way, is going to Gotham U and he owns a motorcycle repair shop and volunteers with kids at the rec center in his spare time!” He stared off, starry eyed. “I wish I’d given him my number! Now I’ll never see him again. He was perfect! I’ll never find anyone that hot. That amazing. I’ll die alone. Doomed to rule the Infinite Realms in solitude until the inevitable heat death of the universe.” Danny flopped face down onto the counter. Dramatic devastation in every line of his body.
“I thought you were the Ghost King, not the Drama King.” Sam poked the side of his head with a plate of sofritas tacos before setting it down next to him. “Besides, you act like the heat death of the universe is going to destroy the Realms. You’ll keep being King long after that.”
Danny glared at her as he pulled his tacos closer. “You’re cruel, Sam. So cruel to taunt me in my hour of suffering.”
“You’ll get over it.”

Chapter 1 -
“B, I understand that you want to get to the bottom of this, but I’m beginning to think that you’re upset! This is a great change!” Nightwing stood with Bruce at the edge of the building overlooking the city.
Bruce was not upset, he was concerned. He did not like when things in his city changed without reason. He especially didn’t like when things in his city changed magically. The hustle and bustle of Gotham continued on the streets below. That hadn’t changed. But the sky overhead was clear. It had been for a weeks now. Bruce found it unsettling. A Gothamite at heart, he was used to the overcast days and cloudy nights. Sure, Gotham had clear nights once in a while, but this was the 17th clear night this month. It happened slowly. The smog thinning. The constant cloud cover abating. The moon was now visible to some degree almost every night. Shining down its reflected light in its various phases. And nothing else seemed to be affected. The rainfall hadn’t changed. The winds didn’t blow differently. The harbor wasn’t suddenly cleaned of filth. It was just clearer. And it didn’t make sense. He didn’t trust it.
The plants were certainly benefiting from better light quality, which did lead Bruce to suspect that Poison Ivy had something to do with the changes. But she was just as surprised as he was. She asked him to let her know who did it so she could send them a fruit basket! After clearing Poison Ivy of fault, Bruce was forced to reach out to the Justice League’s Dark division. Constantine had answered his call and arranged a meeting for tonight. He should be arriving shortly, having given Batman this exact rooftop as the easiest place to portal to, given the number of “curses and magical fuckery” that lay over the city.
Bruce wanted to take offence to that but he knew the city had its problems both mundane and magical. So he stood waiting. Brooding. Nightwing insisted on coming as backup though they both knew it was to help smooth communication between the two otherwise ornery men.
Nightwing and Batman both felt a shift in the air and turned to see John stepping out of a portal, which spiraled out of existence after his feet were firmly on the gravel roof.
“Batman.” Constantine said in greeting. “And the biggest Robin. What a pleasure…” he deadpanned as he lit his cigarette. He took a long drag and looked around and then up at the clear skies. “Oh, that is….something. I see why you called.”
“This started about a month ago.” Nightwing supplied after a beat of silence. “Not that the better air quality isn’t nice, but it’s definitely not natural. We were hoping you could help us find the cause.”
“Yeeeeeah, probably for the best. I’m not the best at scrying magic, I think Raven holds that title, but whatever is causing all of that-” he gestured vaguely to the entire sky, “-should be bloody obvious to anyone who cares to look.”
John pulled a map of Gotham from one of his coat’s many pockets and laid it on some nearby ductwork before pulling a pendulum from another pocket. Releasing it over the map, it swung wildly for several seconds before freezing. For a moment John thought it had found its mark, and rather quickly at that, but the chain was not taut. It had simply stopped midswing at the top of its arc, hovering somewhere over the harbor and pointing to absolutely nothing.
“Strange…” he looked to the Bats to see what they might make of it but they were also frozen. “Oh, bugger.”
“Hello, John Constantine”

Cain and Abel Wept 7/?
Prev | Next
This a Fenton Family-oriented chapter with a bit of background. I hope it came out fine.
Danny dodged the big shadows sent his way. Another day, another challenge for the throne. Except for this time, it was an Ancient Danny didn’t know. She was a being made of pure shadows and darkness.
And she had just proclaimed in front of Amity Park, including the GIW, that Danny was the fucking Ghost King. That will be a joy to deal with later.
Danny needed to put a stop to this. The being had already destroyed infrastructure and caused too many injuries. Danny didn’t want any deaths on his hands.
His parents were following their fight with the GAV, too afraid of hitting him to shoot any ectoblasters. The GIW had no such problems. Danny ended up dodging shadows, GIW blasters, and the random attack from a townsperson trying to be helpful.
“Have to get away from everyone,” Danny muttered to himself.
He flew to the empty park and duked it out with the Ancient Shadow. If it weren’t for his intangibility, Danny would have a shit ton of bruises instead of the few he did.
It was going badly when it took a turn for the worse. The Shadow turned six stories tall and somehow, impossibly, got stronger. Danny was at the end of his rope. He could feel his strength waning. Already, a white ring had appeared around his waist three separate times. Even though he didn’t need to breathe in his ghost form, he could still feel his lungs burning. Danny was going to lose, and a chaotic shadow would rule the Infinite Realms.
No, he wouldn’t allow it; he couldn’t!
Danny felt power growing deep in his chest and raring to be let out. His ghostly wail came out of him.
The Ancient didn’t stand a chance.
Danny used the Fenton Thermos to suck her up and let himself float down slowly. He was too tired to notice Agent K hiding behind a tree; he was too tired to keep his ghost form.
Danny sure felt the ectoblast hitting him.
Danny let go of the thermos and held on to his now bleeding shoulder.
“Freeze, ghost scum, under the Anti-Ecto Act Laws, you are to be detained and taken by GIW to be neutralized.”
Danny gritted his teeth and turned to run (he was too tired to transform) straight into Damian’s sword.
Danny woke up hyperventilating. He touched his chest. He was trying to stop the bleeding and remove the sword he felt protruding from it. It was there, the cold steel chilling him to his very core.
(Not like his ice, though, not the silly little tickles of frost; no, it was a straight-up chill that froze to the bone.)
It took a while for Danny to notice the strong arms around him as they rocked him. Then he heard the words.
“It’s okay, Dann-o, we got. We won’t let anything happen to you.”
Through blurry tears, Danny saw his dad’s large figure holding him tight. His mom was on the bed scratching his head, and his older sister was holding his hand up to her chest and taking deep breaths. Danny soon mimicked her.
“I’m sorry,” he eventually whispered through a hoarse throat, “did I wake you?”
“Oh, sweetie, don’t ever apologize about something like this,” his mom said.
Danny was about to apologize again but bit his tongue; he didn’t want his family to feel guilty about him feeling guilty. It was a cycle.
Danny sighed and decided to be selfish for once. He sank deeper into his family’s embrace.
____
Maddie tried to stitch Danny’s injuries as her husband drove away from their smoldering home.
The Fentons had contingency plans in case something like this happened; she just hoped it would never come to it. Thankfully, Jazz was home from university that weekend and could escape with them.
She shuddered to think about what the GIW would do if they had gotten to her while separated.
Danny sobbed in her arms.
“I’m sorry. This is all my fault. I’m so sorry.”
Maddie ignored Danny’s (unwarranted) apologies. She had to focus on his injuries first. Then she could comfort him emotionally.
“Sharp turn,” Jack called out, giving her enough time to put away the needle before he made a crazy move to avoid a shot from the pursuing white vans.
Fuck. Maddie wanted to tear them apart for even hurting her baby.
Danny stared at her with big, fearful eyes, and she had a flashback of a ten-year-old Danny with the same look as they first brought him home. She had promised to protect him; instead, she had gotten killed. Now, he was being chased by a shadowy government organization.
“I’m sorry,” was repeated over and over again from her baby’s mouth. It should’ve been her saying those words.
____
Danny finally cried himself to sleep in his father’s arms; Maddie continued scratching his head. She never wanted to let her small family go. Now, she feared Bruce Wayne, Batman, would try to take her baby away. If not him, then the GIW. If not them, then Danny’s responsibilities, and if not those, then…To say Maddie had separation anxiety would’ve been an understatement.
So, for the time being, she put away all those fears and stayed in bed with her family as they held their youngest.
____
Jazz used the encrypted laptop and smartphone that Tucker and Technus had programmed. Code Blackout had been implemented. Before the GIW had blown up Fenton Works, Tucker had downloaded a remote virus into all of their techs so they would be unsalvageable. Danny had let the being through the portal before it had been shut forever.
Now, they were in a random, run-down motel.
Danny fiddled with a bracelet hiding his ectosignature, looking out into the distance.
Jazz knew better than to say anything, but she did put her arms around his shoulder before giving him a quick kiss on his head.
They already had gotten in contact with Vlad.
After Danny’s secret was spilled, it didn’t take long for his parents to put together who and what Vlad was. They had made a deal; Vlad left them alone, and Maddie and Jack wouldn’t hunt him down for what they put Danny through.
(That truce almost went out the window when they found out about Dani. To say her parents were murderous would’ve been an understatement)
Now that they were on the run, they needed all the help they could get.
Vlad had set them up with a contact that could get them to Europe, where the Anti-Ecto Acts didn’t exist. They just had to get to New York by the end of the month without being caught.
Easy.
Thankfully, both Vlad and Sam had deposited enough money for them to survive in an untraceable account.
Now all they had to do was wait and escape.
____
Jack had always believed in ghosts.
He had believed in them even when he was called a whack job. And when he found Maddie, well, he wasn’t alone anymore.
Jack had never really believed in God, but as he held his small family, he prayed to whatever higher being would hear him that he would be enough to protect his family.

We the Phandom like to elaborate on Tucker’s Pharaoh connection and maybe give him powers related to it.
Let’s throw that at a Corpse AU, because I love Corpse AUs and I was an Egyptology kid. Imagine for me if you will, all the usual Corpse AU stuff happens, and Danny has to admit his secret identity to a small group of detectives to get them to believe that yes, it was an accident and no, I don’t want to press charges now will you please put my carcass back in the ground this is making me very agoraphobic. And the detectives, naturally, want Danny to come out of the casket to his parents because Holy Fuck Dude, and Danny naturally does not want that. They reach a compromise: Danny doesn’t have to admit his secret identity to anybody else, but he does have to let the city give him a proper spot in the cemetery with a headstone instead of going out and making another unmarked grave for somebody else to find and freak out about.
Danny is wary of having a marked grave because he’s afraid his rabid fans or rabid enemies might dig it up. Enter Tucker! The ancient Egyptians were all about funerary rites, and Tucker convinces Danny to let him put some good old fashioned curses on the new grave. Egypt was sometimes a theocracy, it’s very possible that “appeasing powerful ghosts through grave magic” was Tucker’s ancestor’s/previous life’s whole job description.
Tucker starts getting occasional visits from cobras. Cobras do not naturally live in Amity Park, and they definitely don’t talk, but they show up in Amity Park and occasionally talk to Tucker. Why cobras? Because they’re associated with Meretseger, the guardian goddess of the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens in Thebes. The tomb builders prayed to her for protection from the snakes and scorpions that lived in the Valleys, and she was invoked to blind grave robbers with her venom.
Imagine you’re a random kid at Casper High, and suddenly a bigass snake comes from nowhere and crawls up that weird techie kid’s shoulders. It puts its mouth near the guy’s ear and he stands up like “excuse me teacher, the Guys in White are trying to dig up Phantom’s grave, can I please go chase them off?”
Imagine you’re Wes Weston and you know that Fenton is Phantom, and you see a snake whisper something in Tucker Foley’s ear. He turns to Fenton and says, just loud enough for you to also hear it because Fenton and his friends are all dicks, “hey, somebody just put a blunt on your grave, do you want it?”
Imagine you’re Jack and Maddie Fenton and you really want a look at Phantom’s body to see if there’s any clues to why he got so strong so fast. Before you’re even a foot into this grave, your son’s best friend shows up with an enormous snake wrapped around his shoulders and they’re both glaring at you. All of the usual wildlife of the night has gone completely, creepily silent (Meretseger means “she who loves silence”) and the cobra is absolutely making eye contact with you.

Because of this, the first time Danny comes across the ghosts he knew before as Phantom, those ghosts don’t recognize Danny. They’ve met Phantom who’s distinct in form. All greens and whites, a strong presence. Fenton is almost the opposite. Void dark galaxies and serenity. They’re the same person but look and feel completely different depending on form. If we talk Ghost King, I feel like Phantom would be the protector whereas Fenton IS the Zone. There could even be eventual mythology that makes it seem as if they’re two distinct beings when in actuality they’re one.
So when the ghosts see this ghost that was accepted into NASA? The job they knew Phantom wanted when he was alive? They rush to him when they finally sense Phantom pop up again to gush about how NASA accepted a ghost and maybe they would accept him too! Queue Danny being confused.
“They already have, didn’t you know?”
How? There’s been no signs of Phantom! Just another ghost with an obvious space obsession that was accepted as an alien. How was Phantom already part of it??
Danny gets this look of realization and goes “Oh. I thought you knew? You all call me a halfa. We have two obsessions.”
They get confused, they called him a halfa because of the older ghosts so they thought that maybe it meant half human. He had a human form! (On top of that, it doesn’t seem ALL the ghosts knew he was a halfa in the show so they can get away with not knowing.)
Danny, having already come to terms with the fact he was never human after dead goes, “No. You just saw the side I didn’t feed.” And shows them.
Gone is Phantom and in his place comes Fenton. Who is now very VERY well fed, if not more than his Phantom form now. If anything, he just looks and feels like a god.
It’s very obviously the start of his transition into an Ancient. One of space. One of protection. He feeds both in an equal balance.
When his NASA teams find out he has TWO forms though? There’s a lot of excitement, short circuiting brains, and Danny being mischievous enough to keep up the pretext that he’s an alien.
Humans just happen to call his species ghosts, yknow? He didn’t decide that.
(And technically they are from a different Realm so it’s not exactly a lie.)
I have an idea and idk if its been done before: what if “halfa” didn’t mean half-ghost? What it if meant two obsessions? Stuck between both?
Danny with space and protection.
Vlad with family and power.
I don’t know if Danielle would count in full as the other ghosts never actually call her a “halfa” to my memory and I feel like hers would boil down to “freedom” or “independence.”
The transformation we see is not a transformation of alive-dead state.
Fenton is space. Phantom is protection.
Vlad is family. Plasmius is power.
They are dead. Fully dead. Both had extreme wants and dreams.
Danny’s dream was to be an astronaut, but he died focusing on wanting no one to ever go through what he did.
Vlad wanted so badly to start a family with Maddie, but as he died he only thought about power and what he’d do with it to get back at them.
Two strong things at once in each of them opposing each other as they formed giveng them both the ability to go between the two.
If you look at the differences between their “ghost” and “human” forms, you’ll notice huge discrepancies. The ghost forms of both are of a healthy body type, strong. They’re the obsessions they constantly “feed”. If you look at their “human” form, they’re much weaker looking. Smaller. They’re both sadder in these forms. The ones they no longer feed into.
Because of the “lack of feeding,” these forms will not gain powers until they are fed into. It’s why they seem human and use the least amount of powers in this form. But they still have access to the baseline ghost powers.

can you explain to me the levi au? i read the original post and i still don't get it
Okay so this is the post about Levi's origin but to summarize
Levi(athan) is an OC of mine who is the Ancient of Heroes (like how Clockwork is the Ancient of Time) and was the First Ghost King.
But he didn't like being the king like at all, so at some point he appointed the next King (my partner's OC Auberon ) and then he jsut left, hiding away at the edge of the ghost zone realm so no one can bother him there
He only come out of isolation just once to help kicking Pariah's ass to the sarcophagus and then peace out again
--
the AU kinda starts off with Danny finding out he looks like the first Ghost King and later on just.. accidentally found said guy just hanging around in middle of no where fighting monsters or sth
it's basically just grabbing this short feral man by the scruff and get him to meet and talk to ppl again
--
so when I refer to og!Levi, I meant this version of Levi, the I-haven't-talk-to-ppl-for-thousands-of-years-and-also-am-absolutely-a-feral kind of Levi
there's a reason for him going that far for isolation and I'm gonna explain it under cut bc it is long
So, I have drew this for angst week but in case it's hard read
Levi in this AU, his og AU, actually had lived through this timeline twice. On the first run, he was way more brass and way way more impulsive.
And he didn't really know how to properly do a King's job? so instead of getting help with the whole ruling thing, he took on everything on himself and it weigh him down really bad
I mean that's what heroes do, helping others by taking the burnt of it on themselves. and yes, Levi have a bad case of Saviour/Hero Complex because he literally was made from one akjsdnkajsd
oh yeah, in my AU, I hc that Ancients are made of concepts or stories ppl made. kind of like gods and such, stories and concepts given form. Levi is made from stories of heroes, ones who saved people and protecting others
so that's what he do, thats what his core is
which clashes with being a King all about, because when you're a King, esp on times of chaos n war, you WILL have to make sacrifices. And it cannot be yourself, bc ppl would still need you to lead them. And that fucks him up, because the whole thing with Heroes complexs are sacrificing themselves to make sure everyone else is safe
so he took everything on his own, stretched himself thin, and eventually got caught off guard n he failed to safe a town/village. It was literally destroyed right in front of him n that just broke him
he asked Chronos (the first timeline's Clockwork) to turn back time so he can fix this n Chronos refused bc duh its bad. .....so Levi tried to turn back time himself
But the problem with that is, time magic.. requires compatible magic user to use them. And Levi, who is very much not a time ghost, cannot use it. But he IS a very VERY strong ghost, so he brute force it, and basically broke the timeline all together
Chronos got there in time (lol) and tried to fix/sealed it, but it drains all his power, but before that, he sent Levi back in time to prevent this from happening in the first place
So here's Levi, back in time, to when he was supposed to meet Chronos the first time. But Chronos never showed up, bc he lost all power and essentially died, and have to reform again, to the one we now know as Clockwork.
And now Levi get to live through this timeline knowing what will happen in the future and can react accordingly. But it also made him a bit more distant? Keeping everyone's at arm length bc he is way older and more tired than he was the first time.
like if u know whats going to happen it'll be a bit harder to get super invested into what is going on basically?
So he's now keeping ppl at distance and doesnt really bothers as much to befriend ppl anymore bc what if he fcked up n got em killed again?
and then time goes on and he crowned Auberon and then he leave for good
So, there's Levi.. who haven't had.. or tried to make any meaningful relationship since (he did make frens but he left all of em behind so) and now are being dragged kicking n screaming to socialize agian lmao

Some of these I definitely think can work on a case by case basis, but they don’t make sense when applied universally
Like… there’s no evidence that ghost king was ever a respected position. People actively feared Pariah, no one served him besides fright knight, and the mindless army of skeletons. The ghost zone seems to be comprised similar to Ancient Greece as in, we call it one thing but it’s really a series of independent city states with their own rules and laws and leadership. It doesn’t make sense they’d actually need to make Danny king unless there was actually needed, like a Fisher king situation
Tucker being a hacker genius, there’s a little basis for this in season 3, early he was based much more in reality and used a well known back door to change Skulker’s schedule, but Butch ran with it a little
Everyone being liminal… this just doesn’t work with canon. Liminal is not canon so applying canon is a bit dubious, but I’d does contradict how rare ghosts are and how unique Danny and Vlad are supposed to be. Especially when it’s treated as a generic power up. If it’s basically just giving them the Captain America super serum then what’s the issue? Why is the government not using it, why is it seen as a bad thing, and why is it not more common, especially in DPxDC where if it’s truly that common most of the justice league would be liminal by that logic. Let it be rare. It can be a cool idea but when more than a couple people have it it really raises a lot of questions about it
Danny being Dani’s dad, that’s a case by case situation. When it’s treated that way, it feels like there should be some complicated emotions and things to work through. Years down the line makes it seem more like they’re treating it like a joke which is fine, but when it’s earnest I think you tend to need to show your work on that one. How did you get there, show a bit of the emotional labor. This pretty firmly changes their dynamic so assumedly you’d put that in to explore that dynamic. It makes more sense when you take the time to explore, aka show, how the dynamic came to be
Sam and Tucker having powers… hit or miss honestly? Like we canonically have Tucker get powers TWICE in the show and he pretty immediately starts abusing them. Logically he’d struggle with those same urges that made him a menace with ghost powers and literally led him to enslaving his entire class. So in character using his powers for selfish reasons at the expense of others is his default and probably should be addressed in character. Sam, we don’t get a canon version but personality wise she’s very much an enforce what she thinks is right. She has a strong moral compass, but is headstrong and doesn’t like to compromise
My rant about Danny Phantom and DPxDC tropes
This is just going to be a listing and rant about some of the Danny Phantom and DPxDC story and prompt trends I tend to see around Tumblr. I want to make it clear that I don’t care if you like the things I don’t like or dislike the things I do. Everyone is entitled to their own tastes so long as they don’t harm others and that includes headcannons and fanfics. So don’t be a dick.
______________
______________
Danny is the Ghost King: I admit I really like this one, but I also admit it doesn’t make a ton of sense.
I like OP Danny, I think it’s fun and it fits how several of his enemies can easily be called gods or have global-level powers— Vortex with his storms and Ember with her mind control/power siphoning being key examples— and having him basically be the leader of an entire infinite dimension filled with several godlike beings makes him come off as super badass.
On the other hand, this headcanon typically leans into Danny getting the job via Right Of Conquest against Pariah Dark. The thing is, Pariah wasn’t a recognized ruler. He was a tyrant and conqueror that few if any actually wanted to follow. He didn’t have ‘divine right’ or the willing submission of his subjects. He was the Ghost King because he had the power and desire to force his will against the rest of the Realms. Hell, he was so hated that a cabal of super-powerful/ancient spirits deposed him and locked him away for hundreds/thousands/millions of years and NO ONE other than Vlad tried to free him! So Danny beating him shouldn’t suddenly make him a legitimate ruler.
That all said if you go with the less used reasoning that the Ghost Zone NEEDS to have a single ruler for whatever reason and Danny beating the previous singular ruler/being one of the few ghosts/spirits who have the power and fame required for the position I have no problem with the idea.
Danny is Dani’s dad: Another thing I like, but also another thing that gets messy when you think about it.
Cloning as I understand it basically gives you a genetic twin, not a genetic child. So even with Dani’s genes being modified somehow she’d read more like Danny’s sister than his daughter. So unless you want to throw in that Vlad used some third party’s genes to help stabilize her, Dani is not genetically Danny’s kid.
Ignoring genetics and sticking to emotions and such, emotionally and mentally Danny is a teenager and Dani is somewhere between 8 and 12, way too close of an age difference for Danny to really take on a paternal role for Dani. And even if you say that Dani is mentally younger due to her being force grown it would still leave Danny as a very young teenage parent of a preteen and Dani in a very weird state as her physical and mental development would be at gross odds with how she can filter information.
If you deage Dani to a toddler however and have Danny be AT LEAST 16, things could make more sense as far as them seeing each other as parent and child go.
Danny gives off Uncanny Valley vibes: This has no basis in canon, be it for full ghosts or Halfas or anything else. That said, I love this idea and have no further notes.
Danny is an engineering genius: This is one that comes up pretty sporadically, and I guess it MIGHT have some basis in canon if you stretch some things, but it’s not something that was ever explicitly stated or even heavily implied. I still like it though and think it’s really fun when used for things other than just saying Danny is smart.
Tucker is a master hacker: I get where this is coming from and I understand the vibes, plus it has more of a basis than Danny being an engineering genius, but this also doesn’t really have any real basis in canon. The only ‘hacking’ that he really does is against Skulker and that involves the ghost first assimilating Tucker’s PDA, giving him a back door into Skulker’s systems to do one specific thing. So while fun in some cases, I don’t like it when it gets blown out of proportion and having Tucker being on par with the likes of Tim Drake, Barbara Gordon, or Cyborg as a computer genius. He is smart and he is a programmer, but he’s not a super genius.
Everyone is Liminal: I don’t know who popularized this idea, but I don’t like it. The idea that just being around ectoplasm makes someone liminal sounds like something that the Fenton parents would have been at least vaguely aware of if they were already smart enough to wear hazmat suits for protection when working with ectoplasm, so if they knew it would make people basically proto ghosts/ensure they would become ghosts, they sure as hell wouldn’t have set up shop in a city.
Not only that but we already know that the GIW is willing to use heavy artillery and lethal force on people they think MIGHT be under the influence of a ghost or could be ghostly themselves. So if a whole town was showing up as being so ‘ecto-contaminated’ that they are not even registering as fully human anymore you KNOW they’d start coming in to commit genocide.
The GIW isn’t a legal government body/their actions have violated their purview: Admittedly this one isn’t very common, but I HAVE seen it used a few times, so I’m going to talk about it.
First, I really like this because it avoids the trap of just saying ‘Oh the government is inherently evil and wants nothing more than to commit war crimes and genocide’, so big points there. Beyond that though I also just think it makes sense. I mean the US Government has a LOT of departments and I can see them having a small agency dedicated to keeping track of ‘supposedly’ paranormal shit for one reason or another, but I can’t see them getting a lot of funding— like the amount of discretionary funds needed to buy out all of Fentonworks— without them having to bring up the evidence before Congress and the Senate. From there there would definitely be ethical concerns regarding their actions, legislation would be introduced en-mass, and it would cause a national if not international uproar.
So for the GIW to work they’d either need to be a whole sale corrupt and rouge agency taking money from third parties— like Vlad— and going way beyond whatever authority they might have been legitimately granted to do most of the shit they end up doing, or they were never a government body to begin with but a special interest group funded and staffed by fanatics from around the world and are committing several additional crimes in addition to war crimes by impersinating a government agency.
The Anti-Ecto Acts: I honestly can’t remember if these are canon in some form or not, but I see them brought up a lot so I’m talking about them either way.
These make NO SENSE.
Getting something like this through Congress and the Senate would be INSANELY difficult even if you had evidence of an immediate threat. You can say ‘they hid it in another bill’ all you like but that kind of thing is way harder than you think. Even minor bills about laws and regulations that are just being put through for renewal get read over to make sure things aren’t slipped into them. And bigger, more complex laws take months if not YEARS to get passed and end up getting combed over with a fine comb. There would be no way these Acts could be passed without it being a major event that would be dragged out and debated for ages seeing as it’s literally about declaring a complex species non-sentient and opening them for no-holds-barred scientific experimentation and termination. Religious concerns would be brought up, ethical bodies would be formed and disbanded every day, calls would be made for third-party research, and more than a few people would demand that diplomacy be tried.
And if you tie this into DPxDC it makes even LESS sense as it would be against several laws, acts, and clauses that are meant to protect metahumans– please note that metahuman does not just mean having the metagene in DC, it means having extra-human abilities and powers including magic or alien blood.
Sam and Tucker have powers: I mean, there were entire episodes dedicated to Tucker being jealous about Danny having power and Sam pushing Danny to use his powers for social and/or political causes, but I can get behind the idea of the trio all having powers. So long as Sam and Tucker’s powers aren’t based around ghosts at least.
A big point of Danny Phantom’s story is that ghosts were super rare and believed to not exist before the start of the show and that Danny and Vlad’s powers are unheard-of anomalies caused by the Doctors Fentons’ experiments and creations so having other people get ghost powers in more ‘natural’ ways really undermines that and isn’t supported by canon at all. Yes Tucker was being used to resurrect a Pharaoh or something and Sam was the favored puppet of Undergrowth, but that doesn’t mean they would KEEP their powers after the ghosts giving them to them were removed from play. We see this in the episode where a bunch of Casper students get infected by ghost bugs, they got powers while infected and they lost them when the ghosts were removed. Beyond that we also have the time Jazz was almost sacrificed by Johnny to get Kitty back into the living world, she never got any powers from that despite being infused with Kitty’s power and essence and when said essence was removed she returned to a fully mortal human teenager with no powers.
Make Sam a witch or give Tucker nanite implants or something and I have no problem with this idea.
Danny becomes the Ancient of Space: I’ve already said that I like OP Danny, but I don’t think this title makes sense.
Yes I like giving Danny space powers and/or an eldritch space form, but I don’t like calling Danny the Ancient of Space because we don’t know how a ghost gets that title. Giving him this title seems to stem heavily from Space being the equal of Time which is Clockwork’s domain, but the thing is Clockwork isn’t called the Ancient of Time, he’s called the Master of Time. So I just generally feel like calling Danny the Master of Space fits better even if Ancient of Space sounds cooler.
Now onto more DPxDC exclusive stuff–
Jason is a Halfa/a developing Halfa: This is another one of those things where I just think goes too hard against the lore of Danny Phantom to make sense. Just dying and coming back to life does not make someone a Halfa, even if they don’t come back as fully alive. Not only that but it takes a LOT of ectoplasm and power to make a Halfa with Vlad and Danny being blasted with an opening portal and Dani being specifically grown from the DNA and ectoplasm of an existing Halfa. It just feels like its cheapening the existence of Hafas if they could have been created at any point in history using natural resources or general necromancy magic.
The Lazarus Pits are just rancid Ectoplasm: This just doesn’t work in my mind. Yes they are both green and are connected to death, but they don’t function or act anything like each other. Ectoplasm has shown no indication that it can be used to heal wounds or that it can be used to resurrect the dead outside of the creation of Hafas. The Lazarus pits have showcased no ability to be used as an energy source or for the waters to be in any state other than liquid, though it is a highly flammable substance in some interpretations while Ectoplasm can apparently be volatile enough to explode if not properly treated and filtered.
This idea also just cheapens both the Pits and Ectoplasm in different ways, with the Pits making it so Ectoplasm isn’t nearly as rare or tied to ghostly phenomena in the mortal world as we were lead to believe and Ectoplasm being readily available post-Fenton Portal activation making the constant search and hoarding of the Pits kind of useless. That and the Fentons apparently have Ectoplasm filters that I’m guessing could at least partially purify the Pits.
Backtracking a bit to the Jason is a Hafa/developing Halfa thing, a common way for that to be implemented is by saying the Pits are rancid Ectoplasm and he’s got a stunted Core. Well if that was the case than Ra’s Al Ghul would be just as far along as a Halfa as Jason if not being a fully fledged one himself at this point because while he might not have stayed dead as long as Jason in a single stretch– depending on how you look at the timeline of Jason’s revival– he did definitely spend more communicative time being dead over the centuries he’s been alive.
And finally, we know what rancid/corrupted Ectoplasm does to a person. It gives them Ecto-Acne. Which at best puts you in the hospital for years before giving you superpowers and usually would just slowly and painfully kill you.
Danny goes to Gotham: This one really just depends on WHY he goes to Gotham. Like, there’s nothing wrong with having a character go to a new city as the basis for a crossover, but I feel like it should make sense at least you know? And to be fair, most of the posts I’ve seen that talk about Danny going to Gotham do in fact make sense. So yeah, solid trope.
Danny and Damien are Twins: I have no problem with this in a vacuum, but I think people take it too far and ignore things like basic logic. Namely, the fact that for them to be secret twins then you have to acknowledge their looks. If they are fraternal twins then there is no real issue here, but if they are supposed to look super alike or even be capable of being mistaken for each other then there is the minor issue of their ethnicities.
No one ever suspects that Danny isn’t Jack Fenton’s son, and since both Jack and Maddie Fenton are caucasian, that means that Danny looks fully caucasian. Meanwhile, Damien is at very least one-quarter Arabic through his mother– I can’t recall if Talia is one hundred percent Arabic or not but I know Ra’s is– and is often depicted as having at least a dusky skin tone. So if you want them to be identical twins you’d have to say that both Damien and Danny appear to be completely white ethnically.
Maddie Fenton is a former member of the League of Assassins: Two issues with this: One, the League isn’t exactly big on letting people walk away from it, and Maddie isn’t exactly trying to hide from them. And two, we have seen Maddie’s canonical biological sister so unless both of them got away– which is even less likely than one person being allowed to leave– and only Alicia is smart enough to stay low-key, this one doesn’t make much sense.
Danny is dating Jason Todd: I get it, Jason is the second hottest Batfam member and he has some surface level similarities with their temporary white streaks and dead guy themes. But outside of that this one just doesn’t make sense. At least not to me.
For hobbies/civilian life, Jason is semi-canonically and very heavily fan-canonly a literature nerd. Danny hates his English class. Danny is often depicted as liking rock music and video games in his downtime, Jason… I don’t know his music taste is, but he is a neat and tidy book nerd.
For vigilante/hero life, Jason is extremely violent and open to using lethal options to the point where he has attempted to kill at least one of his brothers in nearly every timeline and is a mass murderer/serial killer with a higher body count than some of Batman’s rogues. Danny won’t even keep his worst enemies like Skulker trapped in the Fenton Thermos long-term and never even tries to injure potentially dangerous humans like the Guys In White.
These two personalities aren’t a case of being mix and matched, they are very strongly opposed to each other on a philosophical level and a moral level.
Danny is dating Tim Drake: Again, I get where this comes from, and to be fair it makes a bit more sense than Danny X Jason in so far as Tim not being a violent bipolar and him actually seeming to share some hobbies with Danny, but it still doesn’t work in my mind. That stuff that Vlad did to cause Danny to call him a fruitloop? Tim has done almost all of it. He’s a stalker, he clones people when he can’t have the real version, he has used his resources to fuck with people– though Tim’s actions in that sense aren’t nearly as bad as Vlad’s–, he has gone batshit crazy in grief before… need I go on?
So yeah, as much as I like the idea of neurotic sleep-deprived heroes falling into each other’s arms, this doesn’t work. Tim is too fucked up for Danny to want to get involved with. It would be too much like Maddie deciding to give Vlad a shot.
Danny is dating Cassandra Cain: Not as popular as Danny X Jason or Danny X Tim, but I’ve seen a couple of these.
This has some of the same problems as Danny X Jason in that they don’t seem to have any real hobbies in common, but it has the advantage in that their temperaments and personalities are at least somewhat more in line with each other. They both really like and really don’t like fighting, they both have issues with their parents who want them to follow in their footsteps while also being open to killing them, they latch onto friend groups as family, are both anti-killing despite being super lethal living weapons, they tend to be pretty chill out of combat situations to the point where they can even be blase about pretty crazy shit, et cetera. But they don’t have many if any overlapping interests… then again, most people tend to say that Cass and Stephanie are pretty close friends, and I think that is canon in some timelines, and as I will be talking about soon Danny and Steph have a fair bit in common so… yeah.
This one has some really good fanfics running for it though, such as ‘lex luthor's ascent from supervillainy to fatherhood’ by Halfgone over on AO3. A fic that I highly recommend.
Danny is dating Stephanie Brown: Even rarer than Danny X Cass as far as I have been able to see, but it’s also the one that makes the most sense in my eyes. The same snarky attitude, love of puns and messing with the people they are fight, they both have issues with their parents, they fight for things that their fathers’ are completely opposed to, and depending on the DC timeline and your stance on Danny being Dani’s father both are teenaged parents.
They also don’t, as far as I can tell, have anything that makes them opposed to each other. So while this one doesn’t have a ton of civilian weight behind it, it also doesn’t have anything against it. A solid choice despite not being very popular.
I still prefer Danny X Cass or Danny X Raven though.
Danny is gay/bi: I have no problem with this. Let me say that again, I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THIS. I think that as a fictional character being used in fanfiction things like sexuality can be altered in whatever way the writer desires– it’s different when it’s a canon continuation of an existing work, but fanfiction is anything goes– but dear gods people PLEASE pick better dating options for Danny. I know that people think Jason Todd and Tim Drake are hot and fun characters, and they are, but as I already ranted about they are NOT good dating options for Danny.
Personally, I think Cyborg works better, or some incarnations of Conner Kent.
Danny has been to Krypton: For most timelines used this requires some time travel along with the intergalactic travel, but I find this one to be very fun. Be it just Danny having visited Krypton and having some stories about the place, maybe some souvenirs, or Danny accidentally/on purpose being revered as a god of the planet. It’s a fun addition or starting point to a story.
Kryptonite is Ecto-Candy: This makes no sense and I don’t like it enough to ignore that. Krypton blew up in the mortal universe within the last fifty years according to most canon timelines and even if the ENTIRE planet became Kryptonite– which it might have to be honest, I’m not sure about that– and 50% of it fell into the Infinite Realms– which makes no sense statistically even with natural portals being a thing– that still isn’t a lot of mass for an INFINITE dimension, plus the timeline would make it a relatively very recent thing to ghosts. And that’s ignoring the fact that Kryptonite is not in any way, shape, or form the same thing as Ectoplasm no matter how you split it outside of that one issue that says Kryptonite is the crystalized screams of horror and pain of everyone who died on Krypton.
Danny is a Martian Manhunter Fanboy: No real notes here. It fits, makes sense, and is often used in a fun way.
Danny hates rich people: This one is funny sure, but it doesn’t make sense. Sam is rich. Danny was rich for a bit. Ghost King Danny is beyond rich. Danny is often written in fanfics to be friends with the likes of Pandora and Dorthea who are both rich. Really he just doesn’t like Vlad because of who he is, it has nothing to do with him being rich.
The Justice League abandoned Amity Park: I don’t like this one. It just doesn’t seem like something the Justice League would do. They have too many heroes that specialize in the paranormal and Batman sure as hell wouldn’t let something like an interdimensional portal remain open without being super on top of it and studying it in case of a worst-case scenario like what happened in Reign Storm.
I’ve seen variants of this where the reasoning is that John Constantine labeled it a no go zone to avoid the possibility of a superhero getting possessed and used as a meat suit to cause mass destruction and chaos, which does make more sense, but if that were the case then the JLD would be aware of the situation and would at the very least check in on some of the bigger events like when Undergrowth attacked, Vortex’s whole deal– particularly when his storm covered the entire world except for Amity park– Pariah Dark’s invasion/abduction, when Fright Knight attacked, and when Clockwork showed up and Dark Danny followed suit.
So really this idea just seems like a way to include shallow drama where Danny hates the Justice League or other heroes in general and feels upset that he, as an untrained teenager, was left to defend his town all by himself… just like Static Shock tends to do.
The Justice League thinks Danny is Immortal and hundreds/thousands of years old: No real notes here either. Danny has time traveled in canon, there are a lot of fanon things involving him doing it even more, and I can definitely see him playing into the bit to avoid being treated like a kid who needs to listen to his elders ala Billy Batson as Shazam.
Clockwork is Chronos: This requires a LOT of hoops being jumped through and a lot of ignoring of the mythology of Chronos himself, but they are both super powerful time deities so… I see where it comes from at least. And it allows for stuff like saying Danny and Wonder Woman are family.

There are a lot more tropes and such that I’ve seen here and on dedicated fanfic sites in the Danny Phantom and DPxDC fandoms, but this is already an incredibly long post so I’m going to end things here. If anyone has anything they want to add or comments they want to give, feel free to leave them! Just don’t be a dick and don’t PM me anonymously with insults and threats. I’ll just report and block you.
