The other day, I saw the a gif set of the moment from the last season of LA when Deeks tells Kensi he has to joke otherwise he’d be too sad to keep doing their job. It reminded me of how stressed Deeks seemed throughout certain points of the last several seasons and how badly he wanted to leave. Near the end, we got fewer references to his mental state or fear of either him or Kensi not making it home one day, but I don’t think that changed (as referenced in many, many of my stories). So, I just hope that Deeks is happily retired from active field work and Kensi is soon to follow. I hope he’s living a peaceful life as a husband, dad, and lawyer or professor, or surf instructor or whatever job he finds next.
