More Omorashi Game Modding Adventures
I discovered there's a Regression Mod for Stardew Valley; while I'm not explicitly into diaper-play, I have to say this specific mod handles wetting/bladder needs surprisingly well! It also added a whole new angle of play in Stardew that alters the way I plan out my farm and it's actually pretty fun.
You end up with new meters next to your energy/health: Hunger and Thirst (and a bladder/messing meter, though I have messing turned off for my game). Even if you're not into messing, you have to eat -- or else your lil' guy passes out with hunger as I've found out.
And you know what, this has been surprisingly fun to have to plan around. I have to buy so much food, and this time I'm actually stoked about receiving the fishing rod because that's a relatively steady source of food -- if I can fish faster than I get hungrier, anyway. Cooked food feeds more, but at least fish are free to get (especially if you can find a blubbly spot.)
But then also, oops, you still have your bladder meter. Trying to fish while your bladder meter creeps ever so closer to full at the risk of pissing yourself in-game is surprisingly more fun than I thought it would be.
You have the option of peeing anywhere, but characters react badly if they spot you (and the flavor text is fun if you're into chiding/light degradation/shaming). Depending on what clothing you have on (underwear, diapers, thong, etc) you can get away with some wetting, but too many in a row and you visibly wet your pants with a debuff.
I thought this would just be a fun flavoring and inconsequential mod, but I'm so much more driven to actually make/use my kitchen, I hunt down food, I take into account how long I've got before I need to find somewhere to hide to piss (or I deliberately plan "wetting walks" while doing errands) and man.
Finally able to play the feral country-creature in my soul. It's so dumb but play's play, and if it gives me the dopamine in this economy then so be it.
The mod itself is a little broken in places (and possibly abandoned) but it works well enough to be functional, so I'm pleased.
Regression Mod found here: https://github.com/zippity21/Stardew_Valley_Regression_Mod/releases (As well as some reddit posts from ages ago if you google "Regression Mod Stardew Valley" but they link to an older version of the mod.)
#Omorashi#Omorashi Mods#Sunsho Rambles#I was the kid who would make player characters run around in games and pretend they went to go piss in corners sometimes#Now I can do it for real in-games ha HA#Now if there could be an omo mod for BG3 I'd be so stoked#Especially if male-centered#I also force-created a whole omorashi system in Sims 4 but I want to learn to make custom assets before I get in deep in there

forgive me for surely sounding dramatic but i feel like a lot of people's gotchas for when someone says something kind of out of line ("you say that but can't even ask for ketchup" "this is why you failed english class" are examples that come to mind) are like. not full on ableist but definitely smell like it. like perhaps these aren't as funny things to say as you think. you're just making fun of things people genuinely struggle with for many possible reasons that aren't related to their online behavior in any way
#the english class thing is extra annoying to me esp when coming from americans#you always complain abt your education system being shitty and full of propaganda. has it even occurred to you that it's even worse -#- in other countries? 😭 (also shitty teachers exist so sometimes you just have to learn reading comprehension on your own 🤷♂️)#but the can't ask for ketchup punchline is unfortunately too common and going strong for years by now#which. has always been upsetting to me. bc why is this the first thing you assume abt someone being rude#what a weird conclusion to jump to that shows that you're gonna make fun of someone for smth they probably already feel bad about#maybe it's not that deep but. it certainly comes off as unnecessarily mean and even childish at times#anyway. that's my rant for today. sorry. might delete this later

really been feeling the "i should've been born a boy" vibe lately but mostly it's so i could have been diagnosed with and accomodated for. idk. Something. as a child and then grown up in a school environment that put me in like, shop class, to build shit and be a tradesman, instead of failing multiple applied math classes cause school was like, idk you're a girl go be an accountant or something
#piri.txt#yeah yeah it's not all the school system it's not all society's fault etc.#but it's like#would i still have problems if i was a guy? yes. but i would not have the problem of being assigned female. lol#and now with the US apparently deep throating boots right left and center it's like.#that tweet that goes 'i might be trans but i have a job so i can't worry about that right now'#except in my case it's#i'm trans and i want a hysterectomy and hrt. but the govt + healthcare is in shambles so i can't worry about that right now#and then it's. well i would love to go back to school and learn a trade. but i can't afford that. teehee#idk man every day i just sit here and go 'in 4 years this will be over. in 4 years this will be over.please god in 4 years let this be over'

continue being a little mean to toh fans please it is really irritating how some act like its got the best writing of any modern cartoon
Daawwwww I don't have it in me. TOH fans love it for a reason, and there are legitimately good moments! It's just not the most complex or well-written show out there—which it doesn't need to be—but I also totally get your exhaustion. It gets tiring seeing people praise it so highly over and over again when it's just like...fine. It didn't do nothing but it also didn't do something, you know? It's main couple is cute and queer, but that's pretty much all there is to them. It has a fun cast of characters, but they all tend to fall into archetypes. Luz is a sweet main character, but she doesn't have any real flaws and kinda takes a back seat to Hunter and Eda (the white people lol). Her foil with Philip was interesting...but then they kinda backed off and went the "you and Belos are nothing alike" direction.
((I'm also going to answer this anon with another: ))
And It's not that an unsympathetic villian is bad, or that Belos would even be sympathetic with added backstory, it's just that...there were a lot of interesting things to explore with his character that were left hanging.
Like, while he's definitely not at all a good person, it's intriguing that he would bother to recreate his brother over and over again knowing that each time the grimwalker was going to betray him. It's intriguing that he was even willing to kill his brother to begin with (though Caleb was super underutilized in general). Like, you can give a villain depth without justifying or victimizing them (hi Finnegran from tdp, I'll also add Spider Queen & LBD here). So it just feels like a missed opportunity all across the board. It's still surprising to me that we got a confirmation on the Wittebane backstory through an unrelated background character, rather than Philip himself (who had literally possessed a main character, and mindscapes had already been well-established....the pieces were all there me thinks).
And obviously it's like, people can love something despite it's flaws, and they can cherish it for the good it has, but they still don't need to praise it as an ultimate form of media, you know? We don't need to pretend toh was this dark and complex story—it was just a story a lot of people liked and resonated with. Which I'm glad it's there for those people, and I'm glad there are options when it comes to queer pieces of media!
That said the show with the best writing of any modern cartoon is The Dragon Prince (streaming on Netflix).
#Monkie Kid while very good is still not that good. I'm sorry lmk. I give you 2nd place. In my heart <3#Though we'll see. If s5 (or beyond) brings back some stuff from s1 the writing might just be that tight#(aka the skeleton key being given to MK in 1x08 & also the 1x01 seal)#Anyways I feel like I've been too much of a hater recently#but gahhh. toh just did not get that deep. it's like fake deep#Let me explain my thoughts:#Lilith cursed Eda. Spent years trying to force Eda into the coven system to undo her own mistake.#Only to then learn that Belos was never going to heal her sister. And does this impact Eda and Lilith's relationship in any way? Not really#Like yeah sure their relationship improves after Lilith leaves the Emperor's coven.#But I can't help but feel like that situation got boiled down to ''Lilith had a good reason for it so we forgive her :p'' and I'm like NO#WHERE'S THE DRAMA#THAT WAS KINDA SUPER FUCKED UP OF LILITH. A LIFE LONG CURSE THAT SHE GAVE HER SISTER. AND WE'RE GONNA LIKE#GLOSS OVER THAT????#tis not story telling for me. At least not any more at this stage in my life.#asks#toh critical

This week's deep dive rec is an installment from Kevin Perjurer’s "Defunctland" video essay series that digs into the history of the Disney FastPass. I'll let this Polygon review make the case for me:
With extremely thorough narratives, Perjurer asks questions that should interest even those who aren’t theme park enthusiasts: Who crafts the societal vision of fun? Why do fun places exist, and how do they get built? And is it possible for everyone who wants the experience to enjoy themselves at a theme park, even if they’re not rich?

Bayesian Active Exploration: A New Frontier in Artificial Intelligence
The field of artificial intelligence has seen tremendous growth and advancements in recent years, with various techniques and paradigms emerging to tackle complex problems in the field of machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. Two of these concepts that have attracted a lot of attention are active inference and Bayesian mechanics. Although both techniques have been researched separately, their synergy has the potential to revolutionize AI by creating more efficient, accurate, and effective systems.
Traditional machine learning algorithms rely on a passive approach, where the system receives data and updates its parameters without actively influencing the data collection process. However, this approach can have limitations, especially in complex and dynamic environments. Active interference, on the other hand, allows AI systems to take an active role in selecting the most informative data points or actions to collect more relevant information. In this way, active inference allows systems to adapt to changing environments, reducing the need for labeled data and improving the efficiency of learning and decision-making.
One of the first milestones in active inference was the development of the "query by committee" algorithm by Freund et al. in 1997. This algorithm used a committee of models to determine the most meaningful data points to capture, laying the foundation for future active learning techniques. Another important milestone was the introduction of "uncertainty sampling" by Lewis and Gale in 1994, which selected data points with the highest uncertainty or ambiguity to capture more information.
Bayesian mechanics, on the other hand, provides a probabilistic framework for reasoning and decision-making under uncertainty. By modeling complex systems using probability distributions, Bayesian mechanics enables AI systems to quantify uncertainty and ambiguity, thereby making more informed decisions when faced with incomplete or noisy data. Bayesian inference, the process of updating the prior distribution using new data, is a powerful tool for learning and decision-making.
One of the first milestones in Bayesian mechanics was the development of Bayes' theorem by Thomas Bayes in 1763. This theorem provided a mathematical framework for updating the probability of a hypothesis based on new evidence. Another important milestone was the introduction of Bayesian networks by Pearl in 1988, which provided a structured approach to modeling complex systems using probability distributions.
While active inference and Bayesian mechanics each have their strengths, combining them has the potential to create a new generation of AI systems that can actively collect informative data and update their probabilistic models to make more informed decisions. The combination of active inference and Bayesian mechanics has numerous applications in AI, including robotics, computer vision, and natural language processing. In robotics, for example, active inference can be used to actively explore the environment, collect more informative data, and improve navigation and decision-making. In computer vision, active inference can be used to actively select the most informative images or viewpoints, improving object recognition or scene understanding.
Timeline:
1763: Bayes' theorem
1988: Bayesian networks
1994: Uncertainty Sampling
1997: Query by Committee algorithm
2017: Deep Bayesian Active Learning
2019: Bayesian Active Exploration
2020: Active Bayesian Inference for Deep Learning
2020: Bayesian Active Learning for Computer Vision
The synergy of active inference and Bayesian mechanics is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of AI systems. Some possible future developments in this area include:
- Combining active inference and Bayesian mechanics with other AI techniques, such as reinforcement learning and transfer learning, to create more powerful and flexible AI systems.
- Applying the synergy of active inference and Bayesian mechanics to new areas, such as healthcare, finance, and education, to improve decision-making and outcomes.
- Developing new algorithms and techniques that integrate active inference and Bayesian mechanics, such as Bayesian active learning for deep learning and Bayesian active exploration for robotics.

So this is how Disco Elysium has been going, I am no longer quitting my job every time something bad happens, but I only have 2 points in both health and morale and brother says that's too low but I think it's fine since I can just chug medicine. Which is very cheap. Unlike speed. I would unstoppable if I had the funds to be on speed 24/7.
Anyway, I love Kim and nothing matters to me as much as gaining his love, or at leats his approval. Unfortunately, I keep doing stuff just because I can, so I end up doing things like exhorting money off a guy which Kim didn't like. I'm so sorry, Kim. I also keep getting morale damage because every time inland empire tells warns me against doing something that will remind me of my ex-wife, I do it anyway. So maybe I should restrain myself.
I barely understand the game's mechanics and keep messing up, but that's all well and good because it makes me connect with Harry. I like to introject characters when playing games.
Encyclopedia is my best friend, to no one's surprise.
#website told me long ago to choose sensitive cop on my first run#but my brother said thinker and i listened to him like an idiot#also i saw a lot of people call DE a visual novel but this is more like a point and click#i mean the genres are related but still#hell the way the point system works would make this closer to a dating sim than to a vn#brother didn't understand my point there bc he refuses to learn anything about dating sims#but i told him that even if he can't see it i am sure playing this like a dating sim with my objective of seducing kim#which i'm pretty sure one can't actually do but i sure as hell am going to try#try badly#i did get an achievement for gaining his trust during the autopsy tho so that's something#sorry guys for simping for a cop again#i know this is all besides the main point but wow this game is really dense and it takes a lot from me to process it#but wow the world the characters is all so well contructed so deep#like yeah these sure are people with lives outside me showing up to annoy them#qtzl txt

Realizing that I went and wrote a bunch of intentionally aro relationships and my partner was like, "Idk, it seemed like normal relationships to me," and I was like, "I mean yeah it's not that different from ours, I guess, I was kind of going for 45° off from 'normal' romance," and they're like, "Okay, but ours is also pretty much like that," and I'm like, "Yeah, true," and now I'm like, damn hold up, are we both some kinda arospec and THIS is how we figure it out? Because I wrote a long-ass fic about intentionally queer-coded (among other things) robots? Life is weird, man.
Like I've been prone to extreme long-term crushes on a very few (mostly unattainable) people over the years, but I wouldn't have known what to do with them even if they worked out, and cough my ex was not even one of them. I just kind of assumed I was failing to feel a thing I was totally supposed to feel, there, and quite a lot of that relationship emotionally was me going, "Okay, I care like This, but I think I'm supposed to care like That? I'm pretty sure he cares That way. I'm not sure I do, but I mean, there's really only one way*, so maybe I'm just misreading this and actually I do care like That, I'm just bad at it."
*This was me being very incorrect, it turns out. There's all kinds of ways to love someone. It's a very inadequate and nonspecific word.
When I confessed my feelings (which I'd been sitting on for a year) to my partner, their reaction wasn't to be particularly romantic about it. In fact they told me they'd help me move to California if I wanted to. And after I got over my initial confusion of being kissed on the forehead (which is also not super romantic as a gesture and I couldn't decide how to even read that so I kinda skipped over even trying for a while), I was thinking, Awesome, that is a yes. They have promised to assist me with difficult stuff, and said nothing at all about emotions, because that's not a big deal anyway. The important thing is that I can rely on them and vice versa. Cool. We are basically together forever now. Which ended up being true. I just never moved out and now it's like 13 years later, go figure. But that's not what I think actually passes for reciprocating feelings for most people? Worked great for me though.
Anyway I feel like I have accidentally learned something about myself, lol. I guess romance is okay I guess, like it's not repulsive, but seriously, it's WAY more satisfying to me to guess someone else's Quiplash answer because you know they know you would think it's fucking funny, and you do, and because you think it's funny and you're well aware they know your type of humor and you know theirs and that you wouldn't expect them to use "cum" as an answer because that's not usually how they roll, so of course that is the only answer they can possibly give, which is instantly evident to both of you with no conversation whatsoever on the topic. When you got just one brain cell and it's quantum entangled with their just one brain cell so you have a lot of null discussions where nobody has to say anything but it's fully understood anyway, that's The Dream, if you ask me. And like I don't really think that's romantic by the usual definition. You can have that with friends and family, too. But that is what it turns out I prioritize in relationships, which I'm starting to feel like isn't what the majority of people are here for?
TFW it's hard to tell because I've been assuming I'm totally alloromantic so everything I experience must be typical totally alloromantic stuff too, but I'm starting to think it isn't maybe? But how do I even tell, this is like being colorblind, lmao.
#tfw you based a completely ace/aro relationship system off what ends up just being your normal IRL relationship#my partner read Failure To Compile and just went 'so we're coprocessors right' and I said 'yeah basically'#it was apparently not at all subtle to them and why would it be lmao they basically just Know What I'm Thinking#we have a lot of conversations that are just...*several facial expressions and a glance or two* them: 'no.' me: 'OH COME ON'#and yeah that's The Experience. 'what if an entire subculture's relationships were all like that' well it'd be great that's what#and also evidently immediately recognizable to a bunch of arospec readers#making me have to also question some long held assumptions about myself#well that's cool though. I'm always down to understand me better. and hey what a funny way to do it too#what's the point of writing something and trying to get kinda deep with it if you aren't learning from it really#this just means I'm so successful I even got myself somehow#flawless victory#aromantic#arospec#also yes the Quiplash thing happened for real just last night#I said their answer before it was even revealed and they just assumed I had somehow loaded the stream faster than them#because obviously I know what they put right?#I laughed my ass off tho
