there's just something about older! joel miller who doesn't see how attractive he is. he thinks his wrinkles and graying hairs are things people don't like, the softening of his middle is telling he doesn't or can't keep up with daily exercise or that he indulges too much in his favorite foods- that they silently judge him on. but really, his broad shoulders, his capable hands, the soft and thick curls of his hair, the cut of his chin and the slope of his nose, the way he holds his hands to his waist and stands when he's thinking, the barely there outline of what he hides behind worn denim, the southern twang that gets thicker when he's just woken up or the low pitch of his voice- he doesn't see it, can't see it- the way it pulls people into his orbit

he thinks he's just an old man. but he's a gorgeous older man, whose lived his life and can help you with anything you might need

Can we talk about the fact how Henry really wanted to kill Erik the same way he took Istvan out? (If you duel him ofc) He really tried to pull the same move on Erik to disarm him.

Mickey 18, my beloved

As a system member that has to hold a lot of the anger and pain, and uses that to protect us, I really felt seen in 18's portrayal. It's easy to lash out, to destroy, to hurt, even yourself and others in the system. But after his initial attempted murder of 17, he really grew into a protector. A righteous source of anger. Against Timo, against Marshall. He stood up for himself, and for 17. Even if he didn't always think through everything.

I felt right there with him. Furious for them both, furious for the creepers, furious for Luko and Zuko. I cheered as he assaulted Marshall, I cheered as he sacrificed himself to save them all.

Mickey 18, I hated you when you first showed up, when you hurt your other, when you tried to kill them. You were trying to save at least one of them, so Mickey as a whole could keep on living, and you were the only one strong enough to do so. No matter how monsterous and heartless it seemed. However, I would be lying if I said I haven't done similar to us. In misplaced anger, in misguided rage. Like you said, though, it's not their fault. It's not their fault for how people hurt them. It's not their fault for how they cower and please to survive. You did right by Mickey. He needed you, and you needed him.

It's very hot of Dreamling Fandom to lean heavily into horror elements in the expressions of love. Normally I have to dig DEEP to find my blorbos lovingly tearing eachother apart (consumption as an expression of love optional) in grotesque and unhealthy ways but in Dreamling I have a feast of fic. Pun intended.

I love the softness too, absolutely don't get me wrong. But it's also a DELIGHT that folks also lean into the inherit otherness of One Who Is Also The Dreams Of Praying Mantises and One Who Chooses To Live Forever (and all the horror [and delight] that entails) and what a love between them might look like

I bring delightful news. Invisible Seams has received a French translation, provided by the wonderful Bedan! Massive thanks to him for offering his services and bringing this game to even more players. Translating a game of this word count is quite the undertaking, and I think he did a fantastic job 💖

Both the full version and the demo of the game have been updated. In order to access the new translation, redownload the game (make sure you got version 1.3!) and pick the French option in the Options menu!

Steve Bannon did a seig heil at cpac 2025 and almost nobody is saying a goddamned thing.

I get it; he isn't as popular or as fun to hate as elon musk. You might not recognize his name. But he performed a fucking seig heil at a conservative political conference and nobody mentioned shit. Do you actually care about us? Or do you only care when you get to dunk on someone with the rest of your in-group?

Since I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet (and before I keep rambling about it over at other sites) I wanted to share my thoughts here about the famous scene of Erik finding out about Istvan's death and him killing the white dog. But since I had only seen the ending floating around of it, I wanted to share the whole cutscene of it. Because I think, if you take a look at the whole interaction that goes on previously, things become a little bit more clear. Because in my opinion, the white dog we see is a representation of Erik, or better said, a part of him. Since I had found the dog's behaviour odd the first time I saw it. From the very beginning of the cutscene, we can see that dog being rather clingy, affection and attention seeking towards Erik himself. No matter how often he pushes the pup away or threatens it. The dog stays, keeps going and doesn't even look at Otto for a second. It stays with Erik, whining while it keeps trying to get attention and affection from him. But Erik simply doesn't give the dog that, even tries to ignore it. The first time the dog's attention shifts from Erik is once Markvart steps out and so does Eriks. Shortly after that, the dog growls for the first time, because of Henry around the corner and even Erik seemingly starts to tense up, but gets led away from Otto. Ignoring the fact that something was clearly off. As they move, the dog again stays rather close to Erik, once again whining and begging for attention. Yet, while they are talking, who is it who kneels down and gives the dog the attention it so much seeks for? Markvart. And who is the only person out of Otto and Markvart who makes a compliment towards Eriks skills? Again, von Aulitz. So now queue the messenger: who do we see going up that poor fellow all tense? Erik and the dog. And while that poor guy just tells them how it is, how Istvan is dead, it's the dog who starts barking while Erik is starting to lose himself to his inner rage over these news. Yet the barking irritates Erik so much that he clearly snaps and kills the poor and innocent animal. One can see it as if he is killing a part of himself. In my opinion the innocent and loyal part that was left in him because of Istvan, the part that was always seeking for attention, affection, approval and love. Erik stains the dog's white coat with its blood, like he later stains his white armour with his own blood during the fight against Henry after his madness had fully taken him over. Even Markvarts last words "Shame about that dog" could be reflected back to Erik, who is now spiraling down rage, revenge and madness. He was a loyal dog and Henry killed his "master". And now this "dog" will be no use for anyone anymore. We hear from soldiers how he got more aggressive towards them, even so far that he started to kill some who pushed just a little too far. Of course this is just my opinion of how one can interpret this scene. Some may just see it as a random dog who got slaughtered by Erik.
