yeah, diabetes sucks sometimes, but every once in a while I see someone in public with a dexcom or pump, and I point to my own, and despite being total strangers we have this mutual shared understanding that no one else gets, and it feels like a secret club that we’re in that no one else gets to be a part of

there's something silly about realising you're not the only disabled person in the room and someone else gets your experiences

Angrily closing the Dexcom app on my phone cause it continues to SCREAM AT DEAFENING VOLUME THROUGH MY HEADPHONES. yes I KNOW my beloved’s blood glucose is high. We are all aware. The correction dose of insulin he has JUST taken is especially aware. AND STILL YOU SCREAM

Please read Dexcom G7 users!!
When you insert a new sensor, get into the habit of taking a photo of the insertion device. Photograph the side you scan into on the app, with the QR code, pairing code, LOT number, all of that. This ensures that if there’s an issue with that sensor, you can provide Dexcom customer support with the information they need to be able to send you a replacement. It’ll also save the date in your photos that you inserted it.

wait I just remembered something, but can't find clarification on the wiki about the info (it skips alot of seasons for some characters).
Aaron, in Emerald Secrect, nearly died and got some serious wounds from Aph and Ein. One of the things that was said to be damaged was his spleen and pancreas, right? I distinctly remember his spleen being listed but only like 50% sure about his pancreas.
Is there anyway to confirm/deny this as I have an idea. If he wasn't given super healing and medically heal up, wouldn't that mean that Aaron became diabetic?
The spleen is right by the pancreas, and damage to the pancreas can cause type 2 diabetes (by having the organ stop working), or even type 3 if it is caused by chronic pancreatitis (which is damage to the pancreas). Even if it was just his spleen, I feel you could make the argument that swelling around the area also put pressure on the pancreas and could have caused damage.
(Please let me know if I am missing something cause I am not diabetic, and if I am not understanding how diabeatis work from injury. I did a google search on mayo clinic and cleveland clinic about how the pancreas and diabetes is connected)
I just think it would make sense if Aaron had some chronic health issue from everything that had happened to him. As far as I am aware, he doesn't have any chronic issues or it is not potrayed on the show very well.

Not to be dramatic, a debbie downer, and all that, but like, if I end up kicking the bucket because I can’t afford a new phone that supports my dexcom app (and lets face it, will transfer my info from one phone to the other and have decent storage), then I guess I’ll be leaving this plane which means I want you to think about something.
Sure MAYBE we can use meters to check our sugars but cgms help monitor them BETTER. Sure we don’t NEED phones but practically anything you do nowadays is tied to the internet, communication, etc, making phones essential.
If insulin becomes so expensive that the majority or diabetics cannot access it, there is a problem, and I want it to be fixed before I am gone.
Oh, and stop using cgms and insulin for “weight loss”. You insult every diabetic out here by flaunting how easily you, who doesn’t NEED such items to justify LIVE, can afford to buy and waste such materials like cgms and insulin, things that most of us have FOUGHT with insurance companies to get for YEARS, and still have to fight for everyday. If you’re concerned about your health, buy a $20 blood sugar meter and prick your fingers the old fashioned way, that we always did, or better yet, go to a doctor. But stop insulting us and justifying it as if *you* are so concerned about your health when we are out here struggling to just stay alive.

I just did a Dexcom change and it said 14.7 and I haven't been that high without feeling it in years so I checked and it's actually 9.8 but it took 3 calibrations to get it to 9.8 and I'm sure you're not meant to just keep calibrating until it sticks.
This is gonna be a fun night!

What’s a CGM?
continuous glucose monitor. its a little plastic patch with a needle in the middle that diabetics wear to measure their blood sugar
they use bluetooth or nfc so you can see the readings on your phone. and you have to change them out every 10-14 days

for anyone who uses the dexcom g6 system w an apple watch: is the home screen widget finally a normal font size? I’ve been keeping my phone on ios 16 for the past few months since 17’s release since it wasn’t compatible with the g6 app software and now 17.0 is but I want to be sure that major issue w the watch version is fixed before I update my phone
