- luke is a gamer that streams on twitch with his friends (percy, annabeth, etc etc). they don’t know he has a girlfriend as she wants to remain out of the public eye. during one stream luke acts a little off, making his friends and his chat suspicious (18+)

#ok besties please pray for me about the following things:#1) i just got home from my grandpa's funeral and can we pretend you knew the whole time and don't need to say anything #for whatever reason it is not something i'm wanting to process online or even really with in person friends #all's well and he's with the Lord and the funeral itself was gorgeous #but there's various pain and grieving in the family and also the family time gave me a good bit to think about #2) i have 8 days before visiting family ~again~ for a bridal shower in ohio #and leading up to this trip i was sick and the trip was moderately exhausting #and i'm feeling more and more urgently the need to actually let my body rest but the obstacles are constant #and during those 8 days i need to do a great deal of dissertation writing and editing #plus you know. easter #3) i just got sent an apartment listing for where i am moving and it feels real and pressureful in a new way #both the stress of should i go for this one do i want to deal with the problems?#and the sadness of committing to something new and letting go of here.#both those things i believe will be helped by me getting inside and eating dinner so i will be doing that soon #on the praise side this puts me close to some of my grandpa's siblings #who were all at the funeral and so excited for me #i really really love and admire that side of the family more the more i know them #they were also a really big family and very hardworking and faithful and! good at celebrating together!#ok that's all i love you guys. if there's any week to be processing big questions and having a funeral it's holy week

I'm about to take a nap but my dissertation coordinator just started "grading" my latest draft and one of the comments on it was THIS 😭 ohhhhhh chat he wants to kick my ass so badly

#tbd.#◜✧ . ❪ ooc. ❫#I feel bad for making him wait 6 months for another draft but I can't lie this snarky comment made me laugh irl for like 5 minutes straight #THE '3000 years ago since the last draft' DJASHDSAJDHSAJD THE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE ':)' DASJDGASDASDHASGDASHJDSA #I doubt he's surprised abt the millennia wait bc he was my coordinator during my bachelor's too & back then I was even Worse #(aka gave him 1 draft a few days prior to the deadline & he chewed me out for it but still accepted me & ONLY me for the dissertation)#so I'm praying everything's fine and I don't have to add/modify a lot. That'd take the stress off the BOTH of us #When words collide 😮‍💨 This whole experience is us 2 just working in our own ways & hoping for the best #Guy with adhd who can't work unless he's under pressure (me) vs guy who doesn't know I have adhd & doesn't want to stress me out (him)

200 words written today...ended up going down a YouTube rabbit hole about a missing persons/SAR case (spurred by the "National Parks will kill you" post that's going around again) and this has really cemented (a) my conviction to not go hiking in the California desert (if I must go hiking in the desert, I will go hiking in the Washington desert, where I'm from. yes, Washington has desert (the scrubby steppe-type that Wiki tells me is "cold semi-arid/semi-desert"), the rainy part of the state is actually not the largest portion of it) and (b) huh my default mental image of hiking, despite having hiked in central and eastern Washington, is still the Cascades, which is where in my distant distant youth (read: the 90s) I did actually get dragged out into the wilderness by my parents all the time. which is why I went to college and graduate school in cities on the other side of the country and also coincidentally why I went to texts rather than archaeology. I experienced enough being uncomfortable in the middle of nowhere before I turned ten and I prefer working with nice Latin texts in a library somewhere. actually I don't like working in libraries, but you get my point.

#it's true: I DON'T like working in libraries especially university libraries #I never have though I've done it at various points over the. you know. fifteen years of my time in higher ed.#in college I used to be a 'work in the cafeteria or the food court at the height of the lunch rush' person #grad school I was a coffeeshop person until covid made that tough and I've still not figured out what actually works now #(problem with the coffeeshops here is that they're not white noise enough AND I'm more likely to run into people I know)#libraries are TOO quiet and like...something about that is very stressful?#I wrote most of my dissertation in my home office (on a surface until the surface physically could not handle it anymore)#don't have a good set-up here yet #daily fic snippet

After like five months I finally updated my Taransusie Valentine’s Day fanfiction. I still have two chapters left to finish writing for it and I can’t say for sure when I’ll be done with the next chapter, but most likely not until end of August at the earliest.

#haven't been super inspired lately which means I haven't been reading enough. BUNCH of things happening irl?!#I've been sleeping 2h-4h a day to write up on my dissertation bc I have to present a chunk of it tmrw & submit another part by Friday #And I also talked to an instructor for my driver's license & I'll be starting driving lessons in June+I'll have to finish the dissertation #fully by the end of June. BUT AFTER THAT! I should have 1 day of driver's exam in July & my dissertation defense on 1 other day in July #Afterwards a few more weeks of driving hours & then the last driving/practical driving exam. THEN I /SHOULD/ BE FREE!#For a bit at least ADJSAHDSGADJSAHASDJ I'm not too stressed about the driving stuff tho. I'm mostly in the trenches abt uni rn 😮‍💨#I'll probs be (static silence) on here this whole week til Saturday. But I WILL find a way to be on here during the weekend #bc Tobias' birthday is this Saturday too (blud just HAS to eclipse me. SMH 🙄) & I really want to write his replies for his bday 🤧
