DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Dick is all about family and making you feel like part of his world. He drags you to Wayne Manor for the annual Christmas gathering.
“You’re not just meeting them you’re officially part of the chaos now.”
He insists on matching Christmas sweaters—preferably something embarrassing but endearing, like sweaters with reindeer antlers or Santa hats.
When you two decorate the tree, he’ll lift you up to put the star on top, even if you don’t need the help. “It’s tradition!”
Christmas morning involves him waking you up early with hot cocoa and a million kisses before unwrapping presents.
He loves going ice skating with you after all the festivities, holding your hand and showing off his acrobatic spins. “Bet you didn’t know I could do that, huh?”
JASON TODD ── .✦
Jason keeps things quiet and low-key, preferring a cozy Christmas at home over big gatherings. He’ll grumble if you insist on dragging him to the Manor but secretly enjoys seeing you happy.
“If Alfred offers you eggnog, don’t drink it. Trust me.”
He’s surprisingly thoughtful when it comes to gifts. He’ll give you something heartfelt, like a first-edition book or a piece of jewelry with a story behind it.
Jason will absolutely read you a Christmas story by the fireplace. He tries to act like it’s no big deal, but you catch him smiling when you lean against him to listen.
Baking Christmas cookies together turns into a disaster. He somehow burns half of them but insists on eating them anyway. “It’s the thought that counts, right?”
At night, he takes you on a walk through Gotham to see the Christmas lights, keeping you close to shield you from the cold and doing that sidewalk rule thingy.
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
Tim’s idea of a perfect Christmas is you, him, and a stack of holiday movies to binge-watch while wrapped in a blanket fort.
“We’re staying up all night. Sleep is for New Year’s Eve.”
He’s a last-minute shopper but somehow always gets you the perfect gift. He’ll blush when you open it and say, “I just… figured you’d like it.”
Decorating the tree is a fun and chaotic process because he tries to turn it into a competition. “Whoever hangs the most ornaments wins bragging rights for the year.”
He insists on taking a cute selfie in front of the tree to commemorate the moment, even if you’re in pajamas and your hair’s a mess.
You exchange heartfelt letters as part of your gift exchange, and his words always leave you teary-eyed.
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
Damian is a bit awkward about Christmas traditions at first, but he puts in effort because he knows how much it means to you.
He surprises you with a beautifully wrapped gift, probably something rare or unique that shows he knows you well. “I trust this meets your expectations.”
If you’re at Wayne Manor, he’ll grumble about the chaos but secretly enjoys seeing everyone together. He stays close to you the entire time.
You two spend part of the day at the animal shelter, helping out with the holiday rush. Seeing him with the animals melts your heart.
At home, he’ll insist on making hot cocoa for you. It’s surprisingly good, and he pretends not to notice your impressed look.
Late at night, he plays piano for you by the fire, begrudgingly admitting that Christmas music isn’t entirely awful.
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
Bruce makes sure Christmas is magical for you. The Manor is decked out with elegant decorations, and Alfred ensures everything is perfect.
He gives you a tour of the massive Christmas tree, explaining how each ornament has a story. “This one’s from the first Christmas Dick spent here. It’s… special.”
Bruce is incredibly thoughtful with gifts. He doesn’t just buy something expensive; he finds something meaningful that shows how much he knows and cares about you.
You spend part of the day helping him and Alfred deliver gifts to shelters and hospitals. It’s a tradition he holds close to his heart.
In quieter moments, he’ll hold you close by the fire, watching the snow fall outside. “Thank you for making this Christmas so much better.”
He surprises you with a slow dance to soft Christmas music, making you feel like you’re in a fairytale.

Madel Headcannons Pt.III
Helen has nightmares, it’s the one thing Madeline will never make fun of her for. She just holds her close, “I’m not going anywhere, you’re here. I’m here.”
Madeline is a chronic, constant hummer. The woman cannot shut up.
Matching booty shorts that say: Slut and whore, respectively
Helen trying (and failing) to fall asleep because Mad won’t shut the feck up because yapping is apparently a 3 a.m. sport
Nicknames like Madeline “Ass-ton” have haunted her since middle school (you’ll never who guess doesn’t let the tradition die)
The only thing Helen hates more than Madeline (only sometimes), is LED lighting. Madeline hates overhead lighting (“it ages me!!” “That’s literally not possible”)
The utter disappointment Mad felt when Helen reverted to her turtle necks, blouses, corduroy and tartan skirts. Helen asked: “Did you really think I dressed like a diva all the time??” “It would have been a nice change!!
Even though they don’t age - and birthdays are arbitrary - they still celebrate them
Speaking of, Madeline’s gift one time was: “I’ll do anything you want” “Anything???” “If you can dream it, Hel”…”Would you sign my Dogstronaut poster?” “HELEN SHARP”
Forget Helen, it’s Madeline and her 78 emotional support decorative throw pillows alive forever (and they ALL must be on the bed)
Helen has several Lego botanical flower sets in her office (gifts from you guessed it, Mad. Did you know Mad likes spoiling Helen? A lot?)
Speaking of flowers - Madeline loves flowers. Whenever she does live theatre, at least once a week Helen shows up at the stage door, like the adoring fan she is, with a bouquet for Mad
Madeline still has a princess phone at the house purely for the aesthetic and drama, she loved twirling the cord while she yaps
The library shelves are split between Helen’s book collection, drafts, and manuscripts - and Madeline’s scripts
Madeline unironically, unabashedly thinks Dolly Parton is the greatest gift to humanity
Helen has kept a photo of her and Mad during college in her wallet all this time, one of those strips from a photo booth
They have a bit going where sarcastically Helen refers to Mad as royalty, “Princess Maddy” or “the Queen of Madness” and at first it was a joke until Madeline started going along with it, “yes!! Finally someone recognizes my power! Bow peasant!!” *Helen realizes she made a HUGE mistake*
Matching engraved jewelry that says “my person”
Competitions of sneaky lipstick prints. Once Helen walked around with a kiss on her cheek from Mad the entire day and was ??? at all the weird looks she got
Madeline is INSISTENT that she is in charge of the aux cord. Helen will fully play Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & Billie Holiday in the car at 9 am on a Tuesday…Mad is a sucker for anything ABBA
Helen is so so so in love with animals (an SPCA commercial is her greatest weakness after all) and has several bird feeders in the yard…Mad teases, “sure Hel, you may not age on the outside, but on the inside? Serving old woman.”
Madeline is so passionate about old Hollywood, believes it a tenet of her acting inspiration
Madeline will periodically, out of the blue, renovate the house. “Why is there a chandelier in the bathroom Mad??” “I deserve the luxury of a well lit space!!” “Get a night light then.” Helen is so exhausted

The Wiccan Calendar: Lammas / Lughnasadh Fri, 1 Aug 2025
Lammas is one of the four “Greater Sabbats,” making it one of the most important days on the Wiccan Wheel of the Year. It is the cross-quarter day between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox, and it marks the beginning of the harvest season. Though it’s often the hottest part of the Summer, this is also the moment when the first hints of Autumn are perceptible—the first grains are ready to be harvested, the trees begin dropping their fruits, and the ever-shortening daylight becomes more apparent with each sunset. At this time we give thanks for the abundance of the past growing season and look forward to the remaining weeks of light and warmth as we continue reaping what we have sown.
Wiccan mythology holds that the God’s power begins to wane at this time, as the days grow shorter and the crops are ready to be cut down. In some traditions, the Sun God actually infuses the grain with his power, and so is sacrificed, in a sense, when the grain is harvested. This grain is then used to bake the first bread from the year’s crop, which in earlier times would then be taken to a church and laid on the altar to be blessed. This custom is a good example of how pagan religions and Christianity were able to coexist and even commingle for a time. The name “Lammas” actually comes from this tradition, taken from an old Anglo-Saxon phrase meaning “loaf mass.”
Lammas rituals are related to harvest and gratitude, and recognizing the manifestations of our intentions that have unfolded so far during the course of the year. Bread-making is a common way to mark the holiday, as it represents bringing the seeds of intention into full fruition. People also might make a corn dolly—a traditional poppet made from straw—for use in ritual and magic. Decorate your altar with the colors of summer and fall—yellow, orange, red, green and brown. Use harvest imagery like scythes and baskets and, of course, loaves of bread. A Lammas feast should definitely involve bread, as well as late-summer fruits and vegetables, corn, and other grain dishes. Spellwork related to securing abundance and a happy home is particularly powerful at this time.
Another name for Lammas is Lughnasa, after the ancient Celtic festival celebrated on this date. Lughnasa honors the god Lugh, who is associated with the Sun (his name translates roughly as “shining one”) as well as many skills and talents, including building, smithcraft, poetry and magic. Irish legend has it that the festival originated with Lugh himself, when he held a funeral feast and sporting competition to honor his foster mother, Tailtiu. She had died from exhaustion after clearing the plains of Ireland so the people could grow crops. Lugh was also a great warrior, and many Pagan groups celebrate this holiday with competitive games in addition to harvest-related festivities. Wiccans and other Pagans who follow Celtic traditions may focus their celebrations on giving thanks for their skills and talents as well as for the grain harvest, but the emphasis is on gratitude all the same. Lugh, our Shining One
The doors of the kingdom of Tara have opened and Lugh, the ‘Shining One’, has crossed the threshold into our consciousness. It is the light of Lugh that will guide us in the month ahead. Today’s new moon in Gemini offers us the opportunity to ‘reset’—a threshold for new beginnings—and Lugh brings the illumination that will shine the path forward.
There is so much to say about Lugh, so today is just the beginning. We will also honour him again at Lughnasa or Lúnasa, the Irish word for the month of August, which bears Lugh’s name, but in truth is an honouring of his dear foster-mother, Tailtiu, Queen of the Fir Bolg.
Lugh (pronounced “Loo”, rhymes with “True”) is thought to come from the proto-Celtic ‘bind by oath’ or ‘light’. It is also a cognate of the Latin ‘lux’, meaning ‘light’. He finds kinship of name in gods like Lugus, who was worshipped by the Continental Celts, and Lleu Llaw Gyffes in Welsh mythology, whose name means ‘light’ or ‘shine’.
Lugh is also compared to Mercury in the Roman tradition, or Hermes in the Greek tradition, mainly because Julius Caesar, speaking about the Celtic Gauls (now modern-day France and a chunk of north-western Europe), says:
‘They worship as their divinity Mercury in particular, and have many images of him, and regard him as the inventor of all arts; they consider him the guide of their journeys and marches, and believe him to have great influence over the acquisition of gain and mercantile transactions.’
Julius Caesar, The Gallic Wars
For me, although I can see the comparison here with Lugh as he is a god of all of the arts, Mercury and Hermes feel more like Lugh’s foster-father Manannán MacLir, who is mercurial in nature like quicksilver and is described as a merchant. Personally, I make more cross-cultural meaning with Lugh and Apollo (more on this to come at Lughnasa).
Lugh also has a prominent epithet, ‘Lámhfhada’, meaning ‘of the long hand’ or ‘arm’. One of the reasons for this is that he is the sacred keeper of the Gae Assail (‘Spear of Assal’), which comes from one of the mystical islands, Goirias (or sometimes Findias), which are described as being north of Ireland and where the Tuatha Dé Danann learnt all of their magic before arriving on this island. The spear is a lightning weapon like Mjölnir, Thor’s enchanted hammer in Norse mythology. Similarly, it always returns to Lugh’s hand after it has completed its mission—usually deathas it never misses its target.
'I am Lugh Lámhfhada, Lugh of the Long Arm.'

Spells and Rituals
Imbolc is the perfect time to cast spells, especially ones related to new beginnings, fertility, and the hearth. Spells regarding birth and rebirth are also seasonally appropriate due to many animals giving birth at this time of the year.
Final Notes
According to an old english folk tradition, if the weather is fine and clear on Candlemas, then cold and stormy weather will reign for the remaining weeks of winter. And bad weather at the beginning of February is a harbinger of a milder winter, and an early thaw.
There are different meanings for what Imbolc means, some say it means “In the belly” because of herding animals being pregnant. But historically Imbolc comes from the Gaelic word “Oimelc” which means “ewes milk”, because some animals have just given birth.

I figured that if Dolly is my last magical girl design (at least in terms of a main protagonist since I have other magical girls I am planning to design for background characters and NPCs in Glitter and Guilt) that I should give her the traditional neck/chest bow.
I was also planning on keeping Rattle and Dolly as wips lost in my files but I saw it was December 1st and figured they would be a nice way to kick off the holiday season.

Do they celebrate holidays like Halloween easter or stuff like birthdays
It's complicated, but yes, they do. That is, once you've been there for a while. The newbies are always the most miserable and don't care about that sort of nonsense. They just want things to go back to normal. To wake up from their nightmare.
The older ones recognize they need some sense of normalcy in their lives. Some will try and comfort the newcomers by getting them involved in little bittersweet celebrations and get-togethers to distract them from it all.
A regular Halloween tradition they have is a movie night in Jen's basement. They all write down what films they want to watch and then draw two from a hat. Last year's double features were Gabe's suggestion (Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Jen's suggestion (Carrie). In addition, they've also started dressing up in costumes as well.
Christmas...well...that's a difficult time for everybody. Some try and make do. Dolly is completely oblivious and goes all out with Christmas stuff. But at least folks look forward to scavenging through the new gifts that arrive in the dump.

dec' x 21 - wrapping paper
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prompt: wrapping paper Pairing: dieter x ofc!bryony Word Count: 993 Warnings: domestic fluff, tiny bit of French you can Google translate if you wish, it's also dieter - he has his own warnings Summary: Dieter and Bryony put up the tree - nothing much else to it. I was inspired heavily by one of @wildemaven's moodboards for this! AO3: Linked
x. masterlist
A/N: still not well, but have enough whereabouts to post what's already written over the next couple of days, so if you're following along at home - enjoy!
Tumblr media
Dieter, with a flourish, finished draping the last strands of tinsel around a gold-framed black and white portrait of Dolly Parton, one of many that decorated the living room wall. It brought a touch of kitsch to the holiday decor that was already out and filling the living room.
“Dieter, there’s tinsel everywhere” Bryony laughed, plucking a stray piece from her hair.
“It’s Christmas Daff,” he offered up as if explanation enough, “If tinsel isn’t sticking to you by the end of it, have you even decorated?” he retorted.
Dieter, ever the enthusiast for the festive season, had already placed the giant nutcracker hippos on the driveway, much to Bryony’s chagrin. “Every time I see those monstrosities,” she had muttered more than once, “I have dreams of running them down with my car.” She knew she’d never actually do it – partly because of the security cameras, and partly because deep down, they were a bizarre but endearing part of their Christmas traditions now.
But mostly because of the security cameras.
The tree stood tall and grand in the corner of the room, its branches bare and awaiting adornment. Boxes of decorations lay open at their feet, a mishmash of colours and styles, each with its own story. No real theme present, just an eclectic mix of both of their tastes.
Bryony with her elegant and timeless decor complimented Dieter’s ostentatious rainbow of decorations ranging from vintage baubles to a rubber duck dressed as Elvis.
Bryony picked up a bauble, inspecting it with a smile. “Do you remember this one?” she asked, holding up the glittery ornament. “We got it at that Christmas market in Cardiff.”
Dieter raised a pointed eyebrow, “How could I forget? You spent twenty minutes deciding between that one and another one that looked exactly the same.”
Then, Dieter reached into a box and pulled out a series of hippo-themed decorations. “Ah, the pièce de résistance,” he declared, holding them up for Bryony to see.
She groaned playfully. “No not the hippos again, please? Can we have a reprieve this year?”
He gasped dramatically, “Bryony Morgan, it's tradition!" he said in a very rare instance of using her full name as she rolled her eyes.
“Fine.” she conceded, not that she’d have any real say as three hippos had already graced the tree in the time it’d taken her to object.
Finally, the tree was a riot of colours, lights, and memories—every ornament had its place, and every light twinkled in merriment. Dieter stepped back, a satisfied grin on his face.
“Now for the passementerie,” he declared.
The sound of rustling paper drew Bryony's attention. Dieter had disappeared for a moment, only to return with an armful of gifts, each wrapped in paper that was undeniably Dieter—bright, bold, and bordering on the obscene.
Bryony eyed the wrapping paper warily as Dieter began placing the gifts under the tree. “Dieter, what is on that wrapping paper?”
He looked up, an impish grin on his face. “Oh, you know, just some tasteful nudes. Quite artistic, really.”
Bryony squinted at the paper, “Artistic?” she asked as she got an eyeful of a black and white sketched erect penis with holly framing its balls.
Dieter beamed with pride. “It's a festive little number I found online. Quite avant-garde, don't you think?”
“This is for my gifts?” she asked, wondering why she was even questioning it.
“Who else?” he chuckled, placing a particularly large gift front and center, two large breasts framed the centre of the gift above a bright pink bow. “Only the best for you, Daff,” Dieter replied, winking at her.
Before Bryony could formulate a response, something caught her eye. Hanging among the branches, nestled between the lights and tinsel, was a small Cartier box, its red hue unmistakable. She hadn’t noticed it when they were finishing up the tree, she was sure she wouldn’t have missed it.
“Dieter, what's this?” she asked, her voice suddenly soft.
He came up behind her, his chin resting on her shoulder.
“Oh, that old thing?” Dieter feigned nonchalance, but the twinkle in his voice betrayed his excitement. “Just a little something for you.”
Bryony’s voice caught in the back of her throat, it was a box big enough to be any number of things. The whispers of the tinsel seemed to quieten as she unhooked the box, her mind racing with the possibilities of what lay inside.
Dieter's presence behind her was a solid reassurance, his breath warm against her ear as he whispered, “Go on, open it.”
She glanced back at him, searching his eyes for a clue. “Dieter, this isn't…” Her voice trailed off, the unspoken question hanging between them.
He shook his head, a gentle smile softening his features. “Not yet,” he said with a quiet conviction that made her heart skip a beat. “But when the time comes, and it will, it's going to be everything you deserve and more.”
With deliberate care, Bryony opened the box, she let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. Inside lay a delicate necklace, its simplicity and elegance a stark contrast to the vibrant chaos of their Christmas tree. It was beautiful – a classic and understated piece. While the exact opposite of Dieter, much like Bryony herself, so very much him in its thoughtfulness.
“Wow–I don’t know what to say,” she managed to breathe out.
“Well that’s a first for you Daff.”
She fixed him with a look before tracing the outline of the solo square diamond that hung delicately on the white gold chain, “It’s beautiful Dieter, thank you.”
Dieter's hand lifted to cradle her jaw, his thumb tracing her cheek. “Just like you mon chéri.”
Bryony lifted her hair as she allowed him to clasp the necklace around her throat, the cool weight of it felt like a comfort as he adjusted it to sit just right.
Dieter leaned in, his forehead resting against hers. “Merry Christmas, Bryony,” he murmured.

𝓐 𝓑𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓯 𝓗𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓻𝔂 𝓸𝓯 𝓘𝓶𝓫𝓸𝓵𝓬
Imbolc is a Celtic tradition that marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. The Celtic pagan holiday falls on February 1st-2nd and heralds the change of the seasons and the shift from the dark days to the sun filled days ahead. This celebration, from information gathered from Irish poetry, dates back to early 10th century. From informaton gleamed the holiday was originally around the veginning of spring and aligned more towards rebirth. However, we can justify this with the meanjng of the word Imbolc. The holiday's name means 'in the belly of the mother' and within the earth at this time sturs the seeds of spring.
Brigid resides over this holiday and was originally worshipped by a class of poets and historians called the Filid. Brigid is a Celtic fire and fertility goddess, daughter of Dagda, lineage of the Tuath du Danann, and deemed one of the most powerful Celtic deities. It is also believed that she is a triple goddess due to the fact that she has two sisters with the same name but they seem to represent different aspects which is very much the summize of most triple deities. As time moved away from paganism Brigid was adopted into Christianity as St. Brigid and was still saint/goddess of dairy maids, cattle, midwives, newborns and nuns.
Per https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/imbolc:
"Brigid appears in the saga Cath Maige Tuired and the Lebor Gabála Érenn, a purported history of Ireland collected from various poems and texts in the 10th century."
"Myths about Brigid’s birth say she was born with a flame in her head and drank the milk of a mystical cow from the spirit world. Brigid is credited with the very first keening, a traditional wailing for the dead practiced at funerals by Irish and Scottish women."

🐧 + my beloved Estelle? 💜
Thank you so much Dolly (@faerieroyal/@daughter-of-melpomene)!!! 💕 Tagging; @manyfandomocs since I know he has Doctor Who OCs!!! 💕
Their favorite Disney/Pixar movie: Monsters, Inc.
Their go-to style of clothing: Estelle's clothing style is less strict about following traditional gender norms: her job at the cafe has a more casual dress code. The clothes she wears typically don't adhere to her body and run large and have a masculine edge, such as slacks, dress shirts, blazers and ties.
Their favorite vacation memory: The summer that both Rory and Estelle went on holiday to Scarborough with their grandparents during their childhood.
Their favorite fairy tale: It’s a toss between Puss in Boots or Little Red Riding Hood.
One hidden talent of theirs: Playing the trumpet.
One thing they've kept since childhood days: Her worn out set of the “Anne of Green Gables” novels, which originally belonged to her mum, when she was a child.
Their favorite holiday memory: Estelle’s favourite holiday memory was Christmas, when her older brother Rory first met his childhood friend Amy. Through Amy, she would tell both Rory and Estelle all of her imaginary adventures with “the raggedy Doctor” and play dress-up games with them both. Even though Rory did not believe that the Doctor was real, Estelle believed Amy, and it was those imaginary games that started Estelle’s love for story crafting.
Their first crush: It was a girl in her class during elementary school, and Estelle gave her a love note in the playground, which freaked everyone out, and one boy called Estelle “a freak” and was laughed at by the students.
Something they would never admit to anybody: Her Alektorophobia (fear of chickens or hens).
Their favorite wild animal: Alpacas.

DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Tries so hard to learn Turkish. His pronunciation is tragic at first, but he gets better.
“Günaydın, aşkım!” (sounds like: goon-eye-denn...ash-come?)
Absolutely obsessed with Turkish breakfast. He will wake you up just to set it up together.
“Wait, we get cheese AND olives AND honey? Every morning?? This is heaven.”
He wants to learn all the dances at weddings and ends up being the overly enthusiastic foreigner who somehow becomes the crowd favorite.
You catch him watching Turkish dramas and crying like it’s a sport.
JASON TODD ── .✦
Knows a few key words: “aşkım,” “hayır,” “çay,” and “ne?”
But also knows how to curse in Turkish and uses it with impressive accuracy.
Pretends to grumble when your family insists he eat more, but he secretly loves the home-cooked Turkish food.
He even tries to learn your grandma’s recipes. "Teach me how to make dolma or I’ll riot."
Super protective of you and lowkey fascinated by your history and culture he’ll stay up reading about the Ottoman Empire and then drop facts out of nowhere.
Brings Turkish delight ( is a proper gift there? ) as a gift when visiting your family, trying to win everyone over.
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
Has a whole Google Doc of Turkish phrases and cultural notes he’s compiled.
“So I shouldn’t use ‘tamam’ sarcastically, got it.”
He’s blown away by your language’s structure and will 100% ask you to explain agglutinative verbs.
(If your Muslim) Tries to fast with you during Ramadan even though he’s not built for it. He faints by iftar and you’re like, “Babe… it’s only day two.”
Gets deeply invested in Turkish poetry and tries to quote Rumi or Nazım Hikmet to impress you.
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
Starts learning Turkish just to communicate better with your family, even if they speak English he sees it as a matter of respect.
When someone in the League insults your culture, he goes full wrath mode. “Say one more thing about Türkiye. I dare you.”
Secretly loves the music, especially traditional Turkish instruments like the bağlama don’t be surprised if he’s trying to learn it.
Stubbornly insists on doing things your cultural way during holidays.
“We are having Şeker Bayramı with the proper sweets, and that’s final.”
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
Fluent in Turkish within six months. You’re not even surprised.
Will absolutely fund Turkish cultural projects, books, or charities if it’s something you care about.
Quietly joins your family’s traditions with full respect and zero complaints.
“Of course, I brought lokum. And yes, I removed my shoes.”
If you’re homesick, he arranges Turkish radio/music playlists, gets Turkish groceries imported, and turns the manor into a little piece of home.

Good morning Crane family. Since today is Thanksgiving, my question is: how do you guys currently celebrate this wondrous holiday? Also Ichabod, how would you have celebrated Thanksgiving back in your time?
Good morning, Deare Reader!
Thanksgiving, as a holiday, did not Exist in the 18th Century. We had traditional Harvest Festivals, and oure Ministers and Governours would occasionally declare Days of Thanksgiving, but it was not an Annual Holiday. Checking the Wiki-pedia, I find that the Holidaye was celebrated Informally in the Young United States from the War of Independence onward, but was nott made an Official National Holiday until 1863, by President Abraham Lincoln.
Days of Thanksgiving were held after Greate Disasters had ended, & generally, we spent the entire day at Church, singing Happy Songs of Thanksgiving.
In late Septembre, the English celebrated Harvest Home, when the Harveste was all gathered in. I have told Abby about it, and she thinkes it quite Pagan, though we did not feel so at the Time. There was much singing, and decorating of the Village with boughs. The final sheaf of grain from the field was shaped into a Corn Dolly, upon whiche was poured Rain Water, and this Dolly was saved until Spring Planting, to ensure the Fertility of the Fields.
Today's celebrations are much Simpler. In fact, they are even more simple since Abby decided she could not Stand to cook a Thanksgiving Dinner herself this year, and I suggested we Do as some of our Neighbours, and order our Turkey and Side-Dishes at the Farmers' Market. Little Grace helped me to bake Cookies, and we are Prepared for the Descent of our friendes and family upon our House.
I wish a Happy Daye to all, no Matter what you celebrate,
And remain,
Yr humble Servant,
Ichabod Crane

WESTON FAMILY
Born and raised in Helena, Montana, the Weston family started when Cash met Anita one night at a bar. He was a stunt actor and a rodeo cowboy, who was getting bigger and bigger at the time. After a one-night stand, Anita became pregnant, and Cash didn't hesitate to marry her, having been brought up in a traditional family. Anita gave birth to Morgan and Brodie on the 3rd of December 1992 during a heavy snowstorm. While their marriage wasn't filled with love, Cash and Anita stayed together, living with Cash's parents, Evelyn and Joe on their farm in Montana, where the two twins grew up around animals. Here, Morgan found his love for animals, and especially horses. The couple's love started to grow for one another, and when the twins were six years old, their little sister, Peyton was born. But Cash was still very absent during the twins' most formative years, focusing on his career rather than being a dad. He spent most of his time in Los Angeles or Atlanta, filming, and when he wasn't doing that, he was travelling to compete in various rodeo competitions. Morgan looked up to his dad, but it was his mom who he felt closest to, and knew he was getting the most love from. When the twins were six years old, their little sister, Peyton was born. When the twins were fourteen, Anita gave Cash an ultimatum; either choose the family back in Montana, or move to LA, so he wouldn't have to be away from them so much. He chose the latter, uprooting Morgan from everything he knew. He wasn't happy about that, and started lashing out, rebelling and going against everything his dad wanted; especially through minor criminal activities, such as trespassing, vandalism, and getting into fights. After a few years, Morgan was finally sent back to Montana, to live with his grandparents, where he instantly fell back into the comforting life that he was used to. Here, he stayed until he was 28, taking care of his grandparents' farm as they grew older. He travelled back and forth between Montana and Los Angeles for the holidays, but when he finally chose to move back to LA, it was mostly due to wanting to get closer to his family again.

Symbol of a sultry summer
Belarussian symbol of the corn dolly has its roots in paganism: a traditional symbol of fertility that was embroidered on the traditional Belarussian handkerchiefs, the rushniki.
The corn dolly, or zhatnaya baba, is a representation of the harvest and the cycle of life. It is believed to have originated from the ancient Slavic culture, where it was used as a folkloric symbol of abundance and prosperity. The figure is typically made of straw, which symbolizes the bountiful harvest, and is dressed in colorful fabrics to represent the richness of the earth.
In Belarussian culture, the corn dolly is often found on the traditional handkerchief, known as the rushnik. The rushnik was an essential part of Belarussian life, used for various occasions, including weddings, baptisms, and holidays. The dolly was often embroidered onto the rushnik, with the intention of bringing good luck and fortune to the home.
Today, the corn dolly and the rushnik continue to play an important role in Belarussian folk culture.
