Ghosts of fingers along his spine. Breath on his neck, tickling him. A tongue along the shell of his ear. Those were much harder to ignore — whatever it was teasing him, brazen enough to slip below his armor, grazing him with long fingers, then holding him in slow measured pumps that left him breathing heavily, heat pooling low in his belly.

The touches vanished when Rook appeared, looking at him strangely and at the furious blush he could not put away fast enough. His focus was tilted on its axis, only hearing Rook's every other word, an itch under his skin that he thought he'd long since stamped out. He focused on his breathing, hands behind his back in fists, the sharp nip of his nails digging into his palm a welcome balm until Rook finally left.

That was when he caught them — the shock of deep violet skin and blackened fingers, twisted horns haloed by dark veilfire, and the glint of gold lining their necks, draping across their chests.

Okay so just a bit of context: I took a look at the prompt and immediately thought it looked like instead of...you know, trying to get out of a demonic torture dungeon, Natsu and Lisanna were leading the Scary Bird Lady to a birthday party.

Chinese Lantern Festival

I thought of participating (at least in some way) in a well known Chinese tradition - celebration of the beginning of a New Year with lanterns of different shapes and forms (hanging, flying and floating ones, you name it). And since it is a Year of a Dragon and I'm in a JCA fanart era,.. you knew I had to draw my beloved Shendu)).

It is said that some lanterns bear symbols of good fortune on them while others may have riddles being hidden in their design.

"As a tradition of Chinese Lantern Festival, guessing lantern riddles is as important as eating dumplings on the day. The custom is a unique form of Chinese folk culture, showcasing people's good wishes for the new year and inspiring wisdom."

So, I had an idea to use a Sign of Fire from the second season of a show instead of traditional symbols, since Pan'ku Box was a puzzle to be solved and fire is an essential part of any existing lantern (and it is Shendu's elemental power, after all) )).

Hope you'll enjoy this picture, I had lots of fun working on it.

This is a mixed media art, you will find the part I drew in a traditional way under the cut. You can actually see how huge my eraser looks next to it, haha, but damn, do I love drawing miniatures.

One more AU to propose: at the end of Brotherhood, taking ac3's declaration of how the Apple works as fact, Desmond sees the satellite not working, sees Abstergo failing--and rather than kill Lucy, either manages to turn and kill no one (unlikely, given Juno's influence) or ends up stabbing Shaun and/or Rebecca instead, with the idea that maybe, if he talked to the Templars, he could make them understand, that their plan is flawed, that they need to try something else--

Because if the Templars, in all their money and planning and resources are failing, how could the Assassins succeed?

(This would royally piss off Juno.)

I don't think this would go well. I think, even if he and Lucy succeeded, made the Templars change plans, and that worked, the result would be bittersweet at best. A lot of people dead or under their control, with the Assassins being in an even worse state. Power granted to the Templars that make them rise even higher.

There's a good chance they don't succeed at all.

But he'll never know if things would go better if he'd chosen the other path.

(Maybe there's a world where he does convince the Assassins and Templars to work together on this. But that's a much kinder world than the games see fit to give him. So that is out of his grasp.)

Yulaan vs. Yoshiya, in a fairly rugged and brutish martial arts fight between the two. As strong as Yoshiya is, Yulaan is stronger. But that's unfair because she's of a race literally built for combat. So you've got to give it to Yoshiya that he can stand up to her at all. Then again, Yoshiya is a yōkai of a martial clan of demons, so it's not an incredible surprise that he is capable.

Thinking of it that way, the Yabanverse when it stars these two is essentially Dragon Ball x YuYu Hakusho

If you ever wanted to see a Saiyajin face off against a Yōkai, this is about as close to that as you'll get.

The thing about storytelling is that there needs to be an introduction. The reader is meant to be familiarized with concepts existent in the story in order to be able to compare it with variations, subversions or elaborations of that concept. And even if people know what you're talking about, they may not know where you're coming from. Everyone knows what an earthworm is, but this is a dystopian fantasy sci-fi story; so is the fantasy sci-fi earthworm the same as real earthworms, or are they giant, vicious, carnivorous predators who lurk in their underground burrows and wait for prey to walk above them in order to strike? What is the status quo? And how important is it for the readers to get this information in order to have a greater comprehension of the story you want to tell?

If you want to craft a smooth reading experience, you don't start with a subversion. You first lay the groundwork for the developments to grow into whatever you want to convey.

Akira learned that Landorus destroyed and burned the city, but not for the right reasons. Convinced that he only did this for evil, Akira provoked him into a Pokemon fight. So, Landorus transformed himself into his therian form while Akira is forced to Terastal into their dragon type, to get rid of their ground weakness. Despite this, it's not sure that Akira will have enough attack power against a Landorus-T who is able to hit like a truck, but Akira won't give up yet.
