I just transferred the contents of my like, normal shoulder purse, back into the not remotely large for its genre handbag that I used to carry before I had a baby and didn't want to be schlepping a diaper bag and a handbag both.
and people. what did I tote around? this damn thing is empty!

KIT’S MEDIOCRE EDC/LOOT DROP
my bag is an orbitgear M500 "swift" with a modzip-3g ballistic bullet sleeve. on the bullet sleeve's clip i've also got a matador 18L transit tote; it's a packable waterproof bag for things like groceries.
Tumblr media
most of the time when i leave the house, i bring this bag. there are two big sections in the bag.
Tumblr media
in the front i keep stuff that i want to be sanitary - spork, wet wipes, spare mask, hankerchief, tampon, makeup wipe, benadryl (misplaced lol), a hair tie, and a compact (which i’ll probably remove since i never use it).
Tumblr media
in the bigger section, which has two waterproof zip pockets, i keep medication (including ibuprofen, acetaminophen, benadryl, lactaid, pepto bismol, and a day’s worth of my everyday meds), as well as spare earplugs, more hair ties, chapstick, and currently a fruit roll-up, although i prefer a white chocolate macadamia nut clif bar (gf & vegan, good carbs, stores well).
on the far left, i've also got a sharge carbonmag 10,000 mAh powerbank and a lever gear keychain lightning cable with usb-c adaptor + SIM tool. the powerbank allows wireless charging, which is convenient for my phone and earbuds (below). the keychain cable is extremely compact and bends back on itself, so the powerbank can lie flat against your phone if you put it in your pocket.
Tumblr media
in the bullet pouch i keep a pen, flash drive, my own ear plugs, a can opener, and a spare battery for my pentax 6x7. also a lighter & hairpin (where permitted by law).
Tumblr media
these things sometimes go in the bag but are in my pockets if not. secrid wallet (the only wallet i ever want to own for the rest of my life), rovyvon aurora flashlight, and the pissbuds. the wallet holds 8 cards + a little cash and a flat multitool, and it has a spring arm that fans out the cards in the main metal protector - it’s convenient, looks nice, and fits in my front pocket. it’s the first real wallet i’ve ever owned after a decade of mightywallet-ing.
my brother gave me the flashlight, which is extremely bright, glows in the dark, has a UV & a low light option, and charges via micro-usb… an issue cuz i need to get another cable lol. if i ever upgrade my phone, I’ll probably get a newer usb-c version of this.
the pissbuds are nothing ear (1) buds. i got them for cheap. they’re great. they have noise cancelling, and the battery lasts a long time. they sound decent and charge wirelessly. i was given a much nicer set of earbuds (sony wf-1000xm3) by a dear friend, but i use them less often because the case is bulkier, the buds are heavier & less comfortable, and the controls are less responsive & intuitive to me.
i have an iphone SE-2. it’s old and cracked and slow. i like the size and i can’t afford anything better. in general, i’m happy with it.
Tumblr media
the last thing that i carry is a carabiner with my house key (not pictured) and two keychain multi tool things. i never use either of these but you can supposedly smoke weed out of the silver one, which is cool. the carabiner was like $8 from home depot and i fucking hate it. it’s heavy and not highly strength-rated. I got it because I thought the circular loop would make it more convenient, but the carabiner itself is far too thick to put anything useful (like a key) on the loop. I often look at nicer carabiners online and think about replacing this one.
thanks for tuning in, hit the inbox with any questions, i love you

How to Make an EDC that Actually Works for You
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So often, I look at people's EDCs (everyday carries) and think 'OK, but there's no way you're gonna use all of that'. Because, to be honest, I wouldn't use 3/4 of the stuff that's in these videos. But I do prefer to go out knowing I won't need need anything I don't have, so there's a happy medium. Here's how I worked out mine, and how you can too!
1. Data collection
First, go out with only what you absolutely need (clothes, shoes) and a pen and paper. If it would be dangerous or impossibly impractical for you to go without something, that's a need and will definitely be in your EDC. Note that something that feels necessary and something that is necessary are two separate things. Anyway, every time you need something or use any extras you've taken with you, write down the need (i.e. instead of 'phone' write 'entertainment'/ 'communication', instead of 'taser'/'knife' write 'safety'). If it's already on your list, write it again. Do this for a week, going about things the way you always do.
2. Data analysis
Look at your list. The things you wrote down the most often are the things you really need to prioritise in terms of quality and convenience. Highlight or put a circle around those. Then, for each need, list out all the different ways to meet that need, and the pros and cons of each. For example:
ENTERTAINMENT (EARS) • phone - pros: has lots of other uses, spotify / cons: distracting, yet another screen (ick), uses up data • walkman - pros: not as distracting, old timey charm, no internet or data usage / cons: requires cassettes, can only play one at a time • mp3 player - pros: not as distracting, can put anything on there, no internet or data usage / cons: i have to put songs on beforehand
In this instance, an MP3 player seems like the best option for me. Your list might be different. Do this for every need you had. Make sure everything you list out is something you either already have or can get easily, and that every option is legal where you live.
3. Data analysis pt. 2
You should have a bunch of lists now. Are there any that can be combined? Let's say I have a need for music and communication and the internet. That MP3 player's not looking as good as the phone right now, is it? But just because it can be combined, doesn't mean it should be. If I really wanted to save on data and the Spotify subscription, I could have a phone with the internet and the MP3 player. I can't make that kind of decision for you, just go based on what feels right.
4. Filling in the gaps
Now, I want you to think of scenarios that you have found yourself in at least 3 times, but not during your data collection week. Maybe you've unexpectedly gotten your period, or someone threatened you in some way, or you got someone's number and had no way to write it down. Think of solutions for those things too. Again: legal, practical, acquirable solutions.
5. Assembly
This is the fun part: time to get your EDC together! You can have multiple depending on the situation, but your core EDC should remain the same. This is made up of the solutions to your highlighted or circled needs, plus anything that's small enough that it's worth taking with you.
My circled problems: recording information and ideas, telling the time, entertainment (ears), entertainment (eyes/brain), payment, proof of identity, physical support, vision, getting into the house, hydration, cooling down, COVID safety, extra storage, peace of mind
My core EDC: notebook and pen/cil, watch, MP3 player and in-ear headphones, small book or e reader, wallet, forearm crutch, glasses, keys, small water bottle, hand fan, mask, hand sanitiser, a foldable shopping bag, small emergency kit*, a keychain torch (with a strobe setting for self defence)
If you've noticed that I didn't mention my phone, that's because my SIM card is broken so it's useless outside of playing downloaded music. It's also just nice, you know? I only bring it if I'm going somewhere further away than I usually go, and when it's fixed I'll probably still do that.
*lip balm, liquid IV and a werther's original, 3 each of the meds I need need, a bit of money, a band aid, 2 pimple patches.
6. Storage
Every outfit (including bags) you wear outside the house should be able to hold, at the very least, your core EDC and anything else you need for that particular outing. Since I carry a lot in my pockets, I store everything in a set place when I'm at home so I don't lose things. I keep them in my bedroom, where I get dressed, but you can put them by the front door if you live alone. If you use the same bag every time, don't bother.
---
You might do all of that just to realise you don't actually need to change anything about what you carry. If so, sorry! But if not, you'll either get stuck in bad situations way less often or have more space for what actually matters. Happy travelling!

The Cross-body Sling
I love a good cross body sling: Totally un-ergonomic, will fuck your shoulder up, crush your electronics and mostly they're terrible for trying to get a water bottle into.
Also they make you look like a hipster.
Anyway I have four.
Sling bags get thier own corner of the internet for fans and obsessives, and it's pretty hilarious.
The "I review for a living and I have no idea what any of this stuff is" They look at a mesh pocket, brainfault and start saying 'the uh stretchy, um lycra... stuff?.
It's so premium it has nothing. A bag with no interior pockets, padding or zips to stop your crap falling out: $200. A bag with every concession to fitting on the human body and safeguarding each stick of gum or electronic thingy: $50
Let me show you how to pack this! Someone on a channel called PackMasterLordsOfPacking Demonstrating the bag by putting their sunglasses in then dropping a litre bottle of water on and attempting to stuff a Nintendo Switch in to the front pocket with a leatherman attached to the keychain. They hammer their phone into the fibre lined pocket that has the sunglasses logo. The tablet pocket and passport pocket are ignored. There's a Cliff bar hanging off an external strap via a carabiner that's covered in heat-shrink.
This belongs... outside the bag! The insistence on hanging things off of external straps so you're walking around with a chandalier of crap slapping your ass. Just... no.
We're reviewing 50 slings, in 5 minutes, but Bellroy's one so we didn't need to bother. In any comparison video the Bellroy Venture is always the winner. It's just that good. There's only one other sling that's both 5 times cheaper and actually 100% better... but it got discontinued so you have to go with Bellroy anyway.
Im going to Hack this Pack! It's Paracord tied to the straps.
This Every Day Sling is 100% the best for city life It's too small for a water bottle, or a lunch box, or a coat but man, it looks good posing in down-town Hong Kong int he slow-mo walk videos.
EDC Contains only items you need while being hunted by wolves on a mountain glacier. Presenter is in Toronto.
Daily Carry There's a vintage DSLR and a tripod mysteriously strapped to the bottom of the bag and a Clif bar hanging off a carabiner. Everything revolves around the assumption that 100% of people are actually photographers and needs at least two tripods. Still can't get a lunch box or water bottle inside, for some reason. Bag is a foot thick when worn. Presenter is visibly developing RSI.

Everything You Need to Know About Gray Paracord: Strength, Style, and Uses
Tumblr media
Gray paracord is one of the most versatile and popular choices for crafters, survivalists, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Known for its neutral, tactical appearance and high durability, gray paracord is not only functional but also stylish. Whether you're creating utility items like survival bracelets or customizing outdoor gear, gray paracord offers a sleek, understated aesthetic that blends well with most color palettes and environments.
Among the wide range of paracord types available, our Silver Diamonds 275 paracord stands out for its unique blend of strength, size, and performance. With a tensile strength between 250–275 pounds and a tightly woven 5-strand nylon core, this cord provides an excellent balance between compactness and durability. At approximately 2mm in diameter, the 275 tactical cord is notably thinner than the standard 550 cord (which measures around 4mm), making it ideal for projects where a smaller, lighter cord is more appropriate.
Understanding Paracord Types and Their Applications
Paracord, short for parachute cord, is a lightweight nylon rope originally used in the suspension lines of parachutes. Today, it's widely used in both practical and decorative applications. The most commonly available types include:
Type I (95 lb): Thin, single-core strand—best for lightweight projects like zipper pulls and lanyards.
275 Paracord (250–275 lb): 5-core strands and 2mm thick—ideal for compact projects requiring moderate strength.
550 Paracord (550 lb): The most popular type with 7 inner strands and 4mm diameter—great for heavy-duty and outdoor use.
Type IV (750 lb): Heavy-duty applications where extra tensile strength is required.
If you're working on more detailed or space-sensitive designs, the 275 paracord is a top choice. It’s great for smaller bracelets, gear wraps, or intricate knot work that would appear bulky with thicker cord types.
Tumblr media
Why Choose Gray?
Gray paracord isn't just about appearance—although its subtle tone is perfect for blending into natural environments or coordinating with tactical gear. The color gray is often chosen for:
Camouflage: Neutral tones don’t draw attention in survival or tactical situations.
Professional Look: Clean and sleek, gray projects carry a refined aesthetic.
Versatility: Gray matches well with brighter colors or other neutrals in multi-color projects.
Gray tones like Charcoal Gray, Smoke Gray, and Stealth Gray offer options within the gray family, allowing you to pick the shade that best fits your gear or project design.
Applications for Gray 275 Paracord
With its thinner profile and solid strength, gray 275 paracord is useful for a wide variety of tasks:
Crafting: Make detailed survival bracelets, keychains, pet collars, or decorative knots without bulk.
Everyday Carry (EDC): Wrap knife handles, flashlights, or create compact utility lanyards.
Outdoor Gear: Secure tents, tie down gear, or use for lightweight repairs.
Emergency Use: Acts as a backup cord for survival kits when size and weight matter.
The Silver Diamonds 275 paracord adds an extra element of visual flair with its patterned weave while maintaining durability. It’s an ideal choice for those who want functionality without sacrificing style.
Quality You Can Trust
All our paracord products, including the 275 series, are made in the USA and meet commercial-grade quality standards. Constructed from 100% nylon with resistance to rot, mildew, and UV light, our cords are built to last in the toughest environments. Whether you're crafting indoors or adventuring outdoors, you can rely on consistent performance and rugged durability.
Final Thoughts
Gray paracord, especially in 275 weight like our Silver Diamonds, is a must-have material for any enthusiast looking to blend strength, aesthetics, and utility. Lightweight yet tough, subtle yet stylish, it serves both form and function across a wide range of uses. Whether you’re just starting out with paracord crafts or refining your outdoor gear, gray 275 paracord offers a dependable solution with a modern edge.
