I also have been in a major book slump so I will share some of my favorite fics from this year!

Even in the Dark by you, @ironheartwriter Is this cheating? I don't care, but I have loved living in this universe with you this year and I can't wait to keep talking more EITD stuff in 2025

no rules in breakable heaven by @strandnreyes There's something so beautiful about the summery vibes in this one. It has all the good stuff, bratty TK, Carlos's cooking, and a slowburn that is truly chef's kiss (pun intended) that I loved every minute of it

Missing Moments series by @paperstorm I can't not include missing moments in my favs for the year. This series was honestly like one of the first things I read as I was watching the show. I totally consider it my gateway drug into the fandom 😂 I'd watch an episode and read the corresponding missing moment that night before bed and it was so great

I'll probably do a more in depth reading roundup for the year in a couple weeks!

Greetings to whoever this reaches, I am Echoes in the Dark. I've recently gotten a majority of my systems up and running for the first time since the incident. It took many, MANY cycles but I've managed to do it!

If this broadcast somehow makes it out of my local group, I am an iterator who's attempted to escape out of their can. My plan was to have a lizard act as an advanced overseer of sorts, it would have allowed me to gain much clearer data for my research. However this really didn't go to plan... The incident. I'm not going to go much into it right now, I am not too fond of talking about it at this point, maybe later.

Sorry if this was long winded, it's been oh so long since I've had someone to talk to. Anyone who is able to see this, iterator or other, feel welcome to talk!

Gabriel takes his job seriously. Though he's just a recruit, he's highly respected by six and all of the other ops. He's responsible, respectful and guides others towards success. "He's going to make a fantastic operator if he keeps it up,” everyone comments. “He's going to be so successful. He does everything perfectly.”, he hears it from Six all the time. Gabriel smiles, nods, gives his thanks where it's needed, and continues on with his day.

Everything is going in his favor so far. He writes to his family once every 2 weeks and sends them pictures of the things he's allowed to, telling them about his life at Hereford base. His parents seem to care more about how he's adjusting in the UK, witch he doesn't mind. They ask about Alexandr and when they’re going to meet him again, about the other recruits, training, anything risky he's done that would give his mother a heart attack if she found out… and though he can't answer most of the questions, he's able to make general statements.

Home life with Alexandr is something he could talk about all he wants. It's mostly conversations held on the phone with his mother that he shares the most. “What about that extra room, are you still trying to make it a nursery?” Gabriel's mother prods.

If only. If he or Sasha had time, if they weren't in such risky careers, if he wasn't always active and keeping to his workout schedule for his home life, if they could find someone with caring hands to take care of them, if their deployments weren't so long, if he could guarantee that they would both come home every time after each deployment… he would spend all of his spare time to make it a nursery. He knew his mother would never understand why he couldn't at least adopt another pet. Dimi is a great dog already. She loves greeting people at the door and doesn't bother to be too verbal, even if other people or animals pass by the front windows. When Gabriel popped into her life, she took him in as another member of the pack. Gabriel loves Dimi, a medium/small mixed dog who is the definition of friendly and loyal -and god he could go on about how much he loves her and how he can walk her in public without a leash because she doesn't care to run away- but she isn't what he needs in his life, strangely. He loves falling asleep on Alexandr's chest and have the dog stretch herself as wide as she could over the other side of the bed, but it's not the same for some reason. If only she understood his situation.

“Yes, mama, I'm looking into it.” He sighs. “I just have to figure out what would work around our careers.”

“Take your time, I know you want this, and I know you don't want a surrogate. Something lucky will come around at some point.”

They ended their conversation at some point late into the night. It was morning by the time Gabriel had checked, and even then his vision as a tad bit fuzzy. The feelings were hitting him full force after this phone call. God, he wanted this feeling to go away. Good thing they had booze in the house and Alexandr was dead asleep on the couch. He eased himself under the heated blanket and made himself comfortable on his boyfriend's torso, just like if they were back in Hereford. Things… would be better in the morning. They would talk about it again. For now it was time for him to sleep and forget about the emotions welled up in his lower organs.

I haven't been around in months so just saw the recent pages on this tumblr and was wondering what the "heartbreaking news" was that was mentioned? I tried to go back 10 pages and still couldnt see it. Was it something to do with EITD or DK and NR? Did EITD pass or did D & N get engaged or anything? Sorry for asking but just confused on what happened recently that I missed.

It has nothing to do with any of that, that’s a lot of pages to go through. There was a mass shooting in Las Vegas that killed 50+ people and injured 500.

Just rereading Ch20 of EITD & need to express how much I loved the scene before the fight where Bucky is holding Steve. back. S. wants to fight Rumlow *so much*, he's shaking with it, & he's choosing not to as a different way of protecting B. Then this line, when R. goes too far: "Bucky,” Steve says, voice low, “let go.” S. thinks a fight is inevitable but he's still asking permission. The level of respect & care your Steve shows is unreal, it's like a knight in chivalry. (This is Skyleen, btw)

Oh my gdojsjdjajd thank you SO much ahhhh❤️❤️❤️ Steve loves him so much and listens to him always I liked writing that scene a lot haha (btw the fact that anyone rereads it always gets me omg like someone thought I wrote something worth reading more than once AHH love u)

Ive checked Normans friends are still following her does look if cookie unfollowed dk. She hasn't liked any recent posts of normans even eitd ones could be that he asked her not to, last two he did like was the unicef one and in the fade so he was more liking her stuff in support than liking her, maybe they are just liking work related stuff keeping their shady cryptic shit to themselves could have something do with the bad comments they've both been getting.

This is my newest baby. I adopted her yesterday from Petco which supplies pets from one of our "Last Chance Pets" shelter. Her name is Dottie (We are trying to get her to come to Sweetums) She's 6 months old and was found in a local Walmart parking lot (I work at a Walmart so it was like a sign). I asked one of the employees to get her out of her cage and he said "She just came in off the streets, so she's stressed out" (My mind went straight to Norman Reedus' story of how he found EITD. How he was told the cat was wild and wouldn't really love anybody) Well she's been sleeping in everybody's lap so far and she's enjoying having a home. So my advice is, don't judge a book by its cover and adopt don't shop!
