Ellis nodded as he cradled the beer in her hands; it was tough; she came to New York for a new beginning to start the next chapter in her life after high school; at least when things got rough, she had her best friend, Kyle, there to back her up and his bar was never far away. "You know, you and my friend Kyle who runs this bar actually, would get along, you're both pushers," Ellis commented looking at the bar for a second as if her best friend was behind the counter encouraging this situation.

"You're right; you'd think there would be a Relationships for Dummies book out there that would help or something that can tell me how to balance a career and a relationship, I definitely would pick that one up." Ellis said as she took another sip of her beer.

"Well, if you're willing to put up with me, then I'll give it a chance; probably gonna be a lot of late nights, and we probably only get to see each other on the weekends, if that."

"No, I don't blame you at all, actually. It's fucking hard out there, and the more times shit goes wrong, the more likely you are to boost those walls up, to wanna protect yourself. Watching everyone else experience the things you want is just an extra shot to the chest, trust me, I know." Mateo's family practically all left him behind, he'd never had a long term relationship end well, and his friend circle wasn't quite as deep as he'd like it to be. He could absolutely put himself in Ellis' shoes, at least a little bit. Which was exactly why he was trying his best to be patient with her, to not push her too hard in this.

There's a way to balance both, especially if the person is understanding and doesn't mind not being a priority 24/7. This guy right here has zero problem with it, Ellis. I wanna be your biggest cheerleader, actually, always rooting for you. Whatever you're able to give me will be enough, I promise. I'm really not asking for a lot." All he wanted was for her to give him a try, to stay. If she couldn't do it down the road that would be fine, he'd deal. He always dealt. His feelings for Ellis were too strong not to try though, he wanted to so desperately.

she looks down at you with defeated eyes. “sorry, he does this thing where he has to stop and say hi to every pretty girl he sees. then he doesn’t wanna leave.” she laughs. “i don’t blame him.”

and now you feel your face growing hot because that was entirely too fucking smooth and she’s just looking at you with a cocky half smile, finally steering him in another direction with a treat. “can’t promise it won’t happen again.”

"Like it or not you kind of remind me of someone I knew in high school so had to see if you're one of those narcissistic types or not. I have a feeling you are, you and I would make great friends. Besides someone told me you were the fun one"

“Now we can get past it,” Enzo stated as he looked at her before taking a sip of the tea he’d been nursing. He was used to the apprehension and fear because he hadn’t been allowed to explore the changing times and come into his own around others. He was forced to be an experiment and bide his time until he was finally free. He could be kind but also cruel if need be. “The question now is what you want with me.”

Ellis was hanging out at Kyle's bar, ordering an appletini and looking around as her drink was being made. Unfortunately, Kyle was not in tonight, so she had no one to talk to. She was just there for a few drinks to unwind and then take an Uber home. After receiving her drink, she walked around for a place to sit, mingle, and maybe flirt with a few guys, though she would not show interest unless she was feeling the guy, while looking at a text that came from her phone she got distracted and bumped into someone and looked up as her drink went falling to the ground. "And there goes my night, sorry...I..." Ellis suddenly lost words at who she bumped into, a guy named Adam, he was a kook like her but unlike her was definitely one of the spoiled ones but it didn't stop him from being cute, they had crossed paths before due to their families but never actually spoke.

"Um...sorry," Ellis said before retreating to the bar again to get another drink since hers was now on the floor. In the process, she told them about the mess.

"If it does, this would be my first time experiencing it, and it's both scary and interesting at the same time," Ellis said as she let out a breath. Why did romance have to be so damn complicated for her, her last relationship ended badly and ever since she had closed herself off and any time a guy go interested, her walls shot up like daises but nothing about Ollie made her tense up.

She played with the zipper on her jacket and sighed. "Well, if you want to give this a shot, I'm all for it, but I'd rather take it slow and steady; I've never been a girl who lives in the fast lane."

"and who says that sometimes those movies trope don't happen in real life, too? the movies have to be made off something, right?" maybe ollie was a hopeless romantic but he believed in going after love, no matter the cost. what if that person is the one and you held yourself back because of fear? "of course it scares me. losing you would suck but i can't live life in what ifs of the future. what if we make it? what if it's all worth it?"

ESPECIALLY having less feminine women without making them feel any less attractive. The way that Glory Ann Boggs is described as being tall and broad, a clear working woman even in her twilight years? Heavenly. Every moment spent on Marcie Walker and her large, protective body juxtaposed to her smaller and more cutting sister Ellie? Glorious. Hell, even just mentioning Nina Jennings in a smart, pinstripe suit that matches her car. POETRY!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!

The Wonder Women (Womans?) of the big and little screens.

Ellie Wood Walker (NOT Linda Harrison, as indicated above) was in a short pilot from the producers of the live action Batman TV series. It's available on the Interwebs, and the kindest thing I can say is thank the stars that it never got approved. See it here:

Cathy Lee Crosby was in a television movie, fighting a villainous Ricardo Montalban (where have I heard of that concept before?). This Wonder Woman had no superpowers and was presented as a super-spy. The telefilm was the pilot for a proposed series but, luckily again, it was not approved. Good thing, too, because this was 90 minutes of boring.

Lynda Carter. 'Nuff said.

Megan Gale was cast in George Miller's never-produced Justice League: Mortal film. While I wasn't a fan of most of the casting, I am a big George Miller (the Mad Max films) fan, and had high hopes for this one. Despite being greenlit, completely cast, and having production set-up in Austrailia, a dispute over tax credits ultimately led to the film never being made.

Adrianne Palicki starred as Wonder Woman in yet another unaired television pilot. Despite having a decent cast (Pedro Pascal, Cary Elwes, Elizabeth Hurley) the tone was all wrong. And the costume, which was rightfully made fun of at the time, had those awful blue plastic pants (although they were replaced with the traditional shorts by the end fight).
