making an external electronics box for my Ender 3 Pros
I really like the Ender 3 as a platform, but its super annoying that the board is on the bottom of the printer, so if you ever need to work on it, you have to flip it on its side, and so much debris falls into there, its kind of nuts
so i mocked this up, the black parts are the stock hardware, but oriented differently, and the grey bits, are new components
Ive actually added a door, so you can work on the board without taking it apart
its currently to big to print, so ill have to chop it up a bit more
but i like how it looks aesthetically

eden's garden minecraft server headcanons
Damon: Guy who loves elaborate piston doors. Thinks he's a better builder than he actually is. He and Eva take turns upgrading random stuff in each other's bases while they're offline as a show of dominance. His storage "system" has been a disaster since she was banned. Keeps finding chickens all over the place and doesn't understand where they're coming from.
Eva: Dug herself into a mountain 10,000 blocks away from everyone to build absurdly complicated redstone contraptions, none of which have much utility beyond being cool (eg. working calculator, world's most efficient pickle farm, machine that automatically launches chickens all the way to Damon's base, etc). Likes to build traps in random places. Currently serving a month long ban sentence for blowing up Wolfgang's entire base in a fit of rage (nothing survived. you can see bedrock in some places)
Wolfgang: Has been living out of Grace's basement since The Incident and spends most of his time out on quests to get her whatever items or blocks she asks him for. Building anything stresses him out because he's a perfectionist so he's pretty much embraced the homeless lifestyle.
Grace: Builds almost exclusively out of white concrete. Surprisingly good at making minigames and has recently been preoccupied trying to find the best way to build Minecraft golf. Never collects her own resources. Anything Wolfgang can't get for her, she steals from someone else's storage - usually Damon, Wenona, or Diana. She would love to steal from Eva, but Eva only has one chest with two string and a poppy.
Jett: Also makes minigames but they're kind of bad in a charming way. Claims that Mark lives with him, but Mark has never been to his base. Teamed up with Cassidy and Jean to build a subway system (ice boat tracks) between everyone's bases and has since become enamored with the idea of iceboat racing.
Mark: Does nothing but dig perfect 16x16 holes to bedrock. No beacon, no enchantments, just pure love of the game. It's stress relief for him. Anything he doesn't directly need for crafting more tools gets left behind in a chest. Every once in a while Jett comes by and throws him 4 stacks of cooked pork chops so that's all he eats. The others eventually realize that if they fence off an area and label it as 'to be cleared' he'll just show up and do it.
Cassidy: Technically the server owner but hates admining. Flexed her speedrun strats by beating the ender dragon on day one. Gave everyone a free elytra in the first week (Wenona threw hers into lava in front of her and they've been Minecraft enemies ever since). Spends most of her time either doing community projects or pranking people. Was in the middle of trying to convince Eva to help build a fully functional postal system before The Incident.
Wenona: Has a huge villager trading hall and a farm for pretty much everything. Half the server is indebted to her in some way. The true extent of her infrastructure is unknown even to her closest friends. If you visit her at the wrong time your game WILL drop to 10 fps. Has been caught online at 3 AM multiple times but always claims she was "just AFKing" (this is a lie).
Ulysses: Bad at video games. Can barely play and has a death count in the multiple hundreds. Makes a full map of the server every week or so. Whenever he isn't doing that, he just finds someone doing something interesting (usually Wenona but not always) and watches them like a personal livestream.
Ingrid: Better at the game than anyone expected and has died the least amount of times. Obsessed with armor trims and has a downright unreasonable amount of dogs. Doesn't trade with villagers but uses them as "background characters" for her medieval city build. Constantly the target of pranks like turning her house into an aquarium or encasing it in obsidian, but seems to genuinely believe her friends are just giving her gifts in silly ways.
Toshiko: Building in the same city as Ingrid but in completely different style. Somehow they've made it work. Never affected by the pranks against her basemate because the last time that happened she made them regret their entire lives. Tries and fails to hide the fact that she's afraid of the nether. Types in chat in full grammatically correct sentences complete with punctuation.
Jean: Has admin privileges and does most of the work on that front. Had the final say on Eva's punishment after The Incident. Can never stay in one area for very long and has built something unique in every one of his classmates' bases. Not all of them are aware of this fact. Has sooo many tridents and no one understands how he gets such good drop rates.
Desmond: Spawn-proofed his entire area immediately and now plays the game as a chill farming sim. Only leaves said area on special occasions. Has more food than he could ever use and doesn't care if people take it.
Eloise: Beat all the in-game bosses in a span of like a week then got bored and stopped playing (this is valid).
Kai: Built an actually really impressive castle, but it's all facade and no function (there are no lights on the inside and it doesn't even have a back). Lives in a pile of chests and shulker boxes in an open field. Can never find anything in it. Has a pink bed.
Diana: Plays with shaders. Builds beautiful landscapes like a painting in Minecraft and focuses a lot on little details and atmosphere. Loves doing interiors. Don't ask her what a repeater does because she will not know. Gets all her materials through hand-gathering and generous donations. Eva also tried to blow up her base, but she found the TNT and dug it all up, leaving behind only a few minecarts that did minimal damage.

DevLog #03: The True Weight of a Double Jump
One of the most common requests I received for Phoenotopia was to add a double jump. Of course, once the game was out, adding a new movement mechanic like that wasn’t feasible without dramatically altering the levels and puzzles. It’s one of those deceptively small changes that carries massive, far-reaching consequences.
Still, I mentally bookmarked the idea for our next project.
And now, in Star Iliad, we present to you: Blythe’s Rocket Dash!
(the tells of dash ability are built directly into her suit—no separate dash indicator bar needed!)
At first, I thought dash and double jump were functionally similar—so similar, in fact, that splitting them into two separate upgrades seemed redundant. Why not combine them into one cool ability: an 8-directional air dash? One upgrade, two functions!
Well, as it turns out, there’s a reason most games separate Dash and Double Jump. Giving the player too much aerial mobility too early drastically changes how levels have to be designed.
In Star Iliad, Blythe’s normal jump reaches 3.5 tiles. That means any platform 4 tiles up is out of reach, letting us create dense, puzzle-like platforming segments. But once you add a double jump—or in this case, a Rocket Dash—the vertical reach increases to 7.5 tiles. Suddenly, those once out-of-reach platforms are now trivially accessible, and the whole world has to expand to compensate.
Take these two areas as examples:
The Whale’s Blowhole (Pre-Dash): An early-game area with platforms spaced about 3 tiles apart, creating a tight, intricate route.
The Whale’s Stomach (Post-Dash): After acquiring the Rocket Dash, the spacing between platforms increases to account for the player’s enhanced vertical and horizontal movement.
Once the Rocket Dash enters the picture, moment-to-moment level design has to change significantly. It’s a powerful tool—and if not carefully balanced, it risks becoming the default solution to everything. Cornered by monsters or projectiles? Just dash away!
(Early on, this chest requires careful platforming on wobbly leaves and dodging enemies. But if the player comes here post-dash, they can just hop directly to the chest—bypassing the “intended” challenge)
My go-to methods for guiding or blocking players—tight walls, precisely spaced gaps—needed a full reevaluation.
You might be thinking: “Why not just make the walls higher and the gaps wider?” Sure, we can do that—to a point. But Star Iliad takes place inside the body of a giant space whale, and that carries anatomical limitations and caps how much space we have to work with.

(Our very first step into designing the map was sketching out an internal anatomy cross-section—and we’ve been filling it in as we go. This early decision has had profound pros and cons)
As we continued building levels, I started missing the denser platforming possibilities from before the player got the dash. I even debated splitting Dash and Double Jump after all—or at least pushing the dash acquisition further back in the game. It’s hard to argue with the tried-and-true design of critically acclaimed games like Hollow Knight and Prince of Persia, which separate these upgrades for a reason. On the other hand, games like Ender Magnolia go the opposite route, offering powerful aerial mobility early and close together – and it works!

Conclusion: Embrace the Challenge!
Ultimately, there’s no “wrong” decision here 🤔
Rather, the designer makes their decision the right one with their ensuing design choices.
In the end, I decided to keep the dash as it was and embrace the challenge of designing around this early aerial maneuverability. They say the best creativity comes when your back is against the wall 💪
And, plenty of head-scratching and iteration later, I’ve since come up with some pretty “novel” solutions that still make full use of the dash/double jump combo—without letting it overpower everything.
For example:
What if there was a dangerous sleeping monster? And loud noises (such as from your gun or dash) would awaken the monster?
Or, what if there was a “goo” mechanic? Contact with goo monsters or goo obstacles could inflict “goo status” on you, slowing your movement, jump, and dash…
Or, what if there were tons of spikes? (And the spikes were insta-kill or something)
And more! The possibilities are endless. Which ones will make it into the game?
Let’s say these surprises are best discovered… mid-dash 😎
That’s all for this update—thanks for reading!
(Next update will drop at the end of July)

Not a request, but I like seeing what people's responses are!! What would be your dream minecraft update? Or a dream mob you would like added to vanilla :]
I have many viewpoints for this,,,
On a realistic side I would love an end update, cause I feel like that is what we're missing the most.
But also I'm someone who loves playing with certain mods, especially Farmer's Delight and Silent Gear, so I would not be apposed to more crops/cooking/farming upgrades or new ways to craft tools and armor to make the progression more interesting. But that is just me!! And tbh I probably would prefer to play with the mods instead, but it's still fun to think about how things like that could be made in vanilla
Besides that I'd love a few more bosses, maybe. I fought the Ender Dragon the other day and had a lot of fun, but I ended it super quick and I was left wanting more bosses to fight. I would go and grab some mods with more bosses but they don't have the same feel, yaknow? So I would love more vanilla bosses with actual boss fights (the Warden is just a nuisance to me and not a boss fight)
So yeah :'3 probably an end update or more bosses

Crow here: some deities followed q!phil from his hardcore world to quesadilla. One of them is the ender king who is a greedy bitch who, in hardcore season 4 lore, was tricked into stealing the ocean and drowning the end realm creating Endlantis.
Now, for some reason, the ender king is obsessed with q!phil, claiming that phil is, like him, greedy, and will soon know the price of his greed. He was responsible for some scary hallucinations back before the reset.
After the reset, q!phil has been plagued by crying obsidian (ek's calling card) popping up in his inventory and around his house, and he's been quietly freaking over that.
But hey, what's this, a fancy new diamond backpack (totally from the bunnies)? With a tier 3 stack upgrade and magnet? Ooh and it's dark purple, so pretty, hey kids you can sleep in *I'm gonna go steal some shit.*
Side note: if the villager thing is true/related, q!phil does Not know about it :D
Thank you so much for sharing btw
I would NOT have been able to figure out what was going on by myself lol
This is Very helpful /gen

I read a fanfic set durring the reign of King RentheKing and suddenly got an idea that was at first just a bit but I soon realized could actually do both that and set up consequences down the line
So the idea originally was that Cub, attempting to keep cards close to his chest, does not use vex or other magic around any and all non-hermits, instead reprising his role as The Court Magician and performing slight of hand and other tricks exclusively. Because of this, while The Core can tell he's hiding his abilities, Marcy doesn't actually think vex magic is real until the group encounters Sahsa and Scar at The Third Temple.
Now, how this starts causing problems down the line is because Player magic tricks are based around their own understanding of physics, playing with more obscure causes and effects, so The Core is aware of certain universal principles that it otherwise would not have been from The Hermits simply upgrading their tech base. Things like how certain items increase in size instead of decreasing as they're supposed to when exposed to player inventory, causing one object to have the appearance of another, or fishingrod activated enderpesrl stasis chambers aren't really the first thing one thinks to install when giving a less advanced civilization better tech.
Well, maybe the enderpearl stasis chambers. The Hermits may think to set those up in hermitopia just in case... and then have to break them on their way out in the aftermath of True Colors.
It makes sense Cub wouldn't outright show his hand with his Vex abilities as Scar might. They're both a little antsy about the Vex, these days - as Scar trying to dissuade Sasha shows - but Cub thinks ahead more. He's the one who makes schemes & plans for the benefit of both himself & his friends.
Him erring more toward his less fantastical, trickster-esque varieties of magic feels like a logical step when faced with all the unknowns Amphibia naturally represents, even before getting to the prying to gaze of Andrias & later the Core, from the shadows.
Marcy's face when Sasha turns up at the Third Temple wielding a magic she dismissed as myth despite the bemused looks she got from many a Hermit for doing so would be priceless, if it weren't for all the other baggage that comes with finding out Sasha's made such a deal.
But back to Cub.
His choice to conceal his Vex contracts & use the full bag of player physics interactions & mechanisms to play the trickster does have consequences, as you say.
It's not as if the other Hermits aren't using these tricks as well - & some are using many of them - but Cub is using a very wide array of gimmicks to play his role, so the Core very quickly gets to see the entire type range of interactions in one individual - internal inventory, item property adjustment, ender porters and so on - mostly untainted by a specific gimmick.
Other Hermits are doing wonders for the tech base, but their mixed approach makes it harder to tell what's one thing and what's another.
In other words, there's no variables for different Hermits' quirks or eccentricities when using their crafts. By using the way Cub does things as a baseline, the Core finds it very easy to decipher & understand many of the principles & concepts underpinning how "players" interact with the world.
Which only makes it easier to jam them when the events of True Colors come around, not to mention everything that comes after that...
(Also, do you mean Newtopia, rather than Hermitopia? I ask as I've never discussed the Hermits having a joint base prior to Season 3, as they did in the Empires world.)

It has been so long since I've played unmodded single player Minecraft that I've forgotten the simple joys of the game. I've started a new world recently, and I've been having so much fun with it!! Just today I've nearly finished building an upgraded library for the village I spawned in, I've traded with villagers for tools, looted a bastion for ender pearls. This game has so much simple joy and beauty, and while mods improve it in a variety of ways, I think it's good to appreciate the beauty the game has on its own!!
Might post some screenshots of what I've built at some point soon, my house is a sandwich :3

talkin about minecraft
hey hi it's me noobette hello!!
im gonna try writing something that longer than what i normally post because im kinda bored right now and kinda wanna talk alot about minecraft
so yea
minecraft!
you know it
if you don't what minecraft is somehow
what rock do you live under, and can i join you so you're not lonely
big 3d sandbox game about blocks that released in 2009, created by Notch, a guy i don't feel like talking about much.
i've never actually beat minecraft at all
i've been playing for like
6-8 years at this point
i've only ever played minecraft pocket edition and minecraft ps4 edition
it was the only game i played like a month after i got my tonsils taken out
back when i was like 5 or 6 i played ps3 edition but didnt understand the controls lol
anyways, minecraft has been in my life for over a third of it, and yet i have not beaten it
and i don't really know why
sure it could be that i prefer the calm of a creative world to the chaotic nature of survival
but if that's the case, then why would i create all these survival worlds
i don't think the issue is how i like to play the game, but how the game is played, if that makes sense.
this is more of an issue with newer versions of minecraft, which is a sentence that has been said hundreds of times, but it's true! new minecraft just removes the fun!!
back in the older days of minecraft you just needed diamonds, blaze rods, ender pearls, and about a stack of dirt, and you could go beat the ender dragon
it's mostly the same in the new version too but now everything is made more complicated
like early stages are mostly the same, punch tree, get wood, get stone, go mine, simple
but now instead of building a little mineshaft to dig down, you wanna fine a cave, and hope it goes all the way down to deepslate, if you ever want hope of finding diamonds
then if you want enchantments, you don't want to get an enchantment table, no, you want about 15 librarian villagers to get the stuff you want, which turns villagers into pretty much a necessity instead of a "ooh hehe im gonna build a little village for the little villagers teehee"
then for the nether
here, you now can get material better than diamonds! this is not a bad thing by itself, but it's so hard to get that there's no real reason to get it! you need to go collect a smithing template from one of the bastions in order to upgrade 1 piece of armor!
considering it's an achievement to upgrade a diamond hoe to netherite, and you will mostly want to upgrade the rest of your tools, thats 9 smithing templates and 9 netherite ingots!!
and to get one netherite ingot you need 4 ancient scraps!! which means you need to find 36 ancient debris blocks, which are really hard to find!!! so it's really not worth it to get netherite at all!! and with all the new biomes and structures, the fortresses are harder to find, making it harder to get the blaze rods!!
once you have the blaze rods theres 3 different ways to get ender pearls now. you can either hunt down endermen, barter with piglins, or trade with villagers!! the ones that are easiest are villagers or piglins!! this means villagers are even more of a "god i really fuckin need it" thing!
once you get the eyes of ender the end game is mostly just the same
im probably just being stupid, but i preferred it when you had to get stuff by yourself instead of just buying it from a villager
i know it's not necessary at all but if you're playing with other people they're going to be way ahead compared to you
in my opinion the most recent update that i've liked had been the aquatic update because it didn't make progression any easier or harder
all of this is probably why i've never really beaten minecraft. maybe i should go and make a world just to try playing it the way i want to and see if i can beat the game
if i do i will update you guys on this
okay yeah it was not that long but eh
#minecraft#complaining#noobette minecraft stuff#putting that there incase i do make a world and play it

Ender Magnolia, Trailer Analysis Part 3
This time I wanted to talk about the spirits and combat. Might be spoilers so don't read if you don't want to.
Edit: found some more pictures so I added them.
So what exactly is a Homunculi? Well, the classic depiction of Homunculi is an artificial human. That also seems to be the case in Ender Magnolia, but the Homunculi fused with machinery. In my opinion, it might be more appropriate to call them androids.
Like I said in a previous post, Lilac can use the powers of those she purified. While not explicitly stated in the released information, Lilac might be able to purify people and machines. This time around, there are 30 spirits to add to our arsenal. I found quite a handful of them and even some names.
First up, the first spirit/homunculi we/Lilac will meet this swords lady.
She's super cool looking and a nice change from starting with the male Umbral knight to this female swordswoman. Interesting to note is that in the trailer, she does not only wield a sword but also seen wielding a scythe.
Because the homunculi are part machines, it's possible we can change what they wield as a weapon through the blacksmith that gives us upgrades. It might also be a different homunculi with a scythe.
Then we have most likely our first boss: the Remaining experiment. Based solely on her name, I suspect she might be this kingdom's first attempt at creating homunculi, but was discarded when they found a better method of creating/producing them. Based on that last image, which I believe to be this Homunculi memory, I know I will feel super sad.
Probably after that, we have our second boss fight: Caladrius. This dark angel will assist us by wielding a gun. He will likely give us a run for our money if the last two images are his final phase.
I also found another image with this owl. I did not see a spirit slot for this owl, so it might be an upgrade for Caladrius.

Next, I believe we have this wolf. AND I FREAKING LOVE THIS THING. A WOLF SO BIG WE CAN RIDE IT, I LOVE IT.
Next, we have this guy from the trailer, but I was able to find a better picture of him.
And I also found a picture of this guy.
And finally, we have these icons that I could not link with any Homunculi that have been revealed. Although I theorize the fist on the X-button might be a Remaining Experiment upgrade.

The enemies revealed in the trailer might have spirit counterparts, but I couldn't tell you which will and which won't.
I noticed five differences this time around in terms of combat. First, we can use up to four spirits around at all times. I like this as it gives me more battle options without switching my spirit set. At the same time, the R-button that we used to switch between our two sets is now a spirit slot. While this switch function might have become a different button, it could mean we have decreased from using six spirits at all times to four.
The third thing I wanted to mention is that we also have this ZL button. My guess is that this is the Last Rites function. Interestingly, we have a separate button for it this time around. At the same time, I am curious if this is another function entirely.
The third thing is that we no longer have a limited use on which spirits we can use. This might change along the line, but I hope it stays. Lastly, there’s no distinct difference in Sub and Main skills. Maybe they got rid of it, but they could also add it later.

How to Choose the Best 3D Printers
Here are key factors to consider when buying a 3D printer:
1. Print Technology
Choose between FDM, SLA, MSLA, or SLS based on your use case. FDM is versatile and budget-friendly; SLA/MSLA is great for detail; SLS is ideal for industrial strength.
2. Print Volume
Consider the size of objects you’ll print. Larger build volumes cost more but offer flexibility.
3. Materials Compatibility
Make sure the printer supports materials you need: PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, resin, nylon, carbon fiber, etc.
4. Ease of Use
Look for auto-bed leveling, touchscreen controls, Wi-Fi, and user-friendly software.
5. Speed and Accuracy
Higher speeds save time, but ultra-fast printers can compromise on detail. Balance speed and resolution.
6. Software and Support
Ensure the printer is backed by active community support, firmware updates, and good slicer software (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer, Lychee).

Apogee Toolhead – Precision Meets Style for Your Ender 3
What happens when engineering, aesthetics, and community come together in a single 3D printer upgrade? You get the Apogee Toolhead — a sleek, high-performance toolhead designed specifically for the Creality Ender 3 and built around the Orbiter v2.0 extruder.
Born from a collaboration between the maker community and LDO Motors, Apogee blends functional airflow design, print reliability, and eye-catching style.
🎯 Why the Apogee Toolhead?
In early 2022, Jason from LDO challenged the designer to create a next-generation toolhead for the Ender 3. The only rule? It had to be built around the Orbiter v2.0 and reflect LDO’s commitment to quality, ease of use, and upgradeability.
Several iterations, thermal simulations, and community polls later, the Apogee was born — and it's more than just a pretty face.
🔧 Key Design Features
Optimized for Orbiter v2.0 Thanks to the centered filament path of the Orbiter v2.0, the stepper motor can be mounted facing backward without interfering with the Ender 3’s frame — unlike the older v1.5.
Twin Blower Cooling Adapted from the proven Mach Cube and CRTwin designs, the Apogee’s dual-fan cooling system is finely tuned through airflow simulations to direct cooling just below the nozzle — enhancing print quality without chilling the hotend tip.
Slide-in Fan Mounts Suggested by LDO’s Dave, the screwless fan mounts reduce vibration, simplify installation, and make maintenance quicker.
Sleek, Angular Design Inspired by stealth fighter jets, the Apogee is all sharp lines and bold symmetry — designed to impress before the first layer even prints.
RGB Hotend Lighting (because... cool) Totally unnecessary. Totally awesome.
🧰 Simplicity Meets Performance
This upgrade is designed to be builder-friendly. With LDO kits including all parts needed for installation, upgrading to the Apogee requires nothing more than two hands and a screwdriver — no machining, no custom firmware hacks.
Future upgrade steps will even include linear rail conversions and belted Z-axis kits, all in LDO’s signature plug-and-play format.
🌐 A Name from the Community
The name “Apogee” was suggested by Karls Vladimir Peña via the Orbiter Facebook group and captured the spirit of the project perfectly: The highest point. The peak. source: www.orbiterprojects.com/apogee-ender-3-v2/

Dear tech companies
Ok listen, I may not be qualified in any way to design or critique electronics, but I have an opinion. Tablets shouldn't be "phon but beeg," they should be what you can't or won't do with a laptop. Like having video input functionality without some stupid buggy app, so they work as a second monitor, or having customizable Ui like a computer so you can change icons and do more than mess around with widgets and backgrounds. I want something as open source as possible, like the ender 3. Have you seen what smart people with passion can do to open source code??? It also would need to be easily repairable/upgradable, like using nvme slots maybe to have lots of storage. A non inflated price due to competition is also vital. Most importantly, I want a well placed Aux port. Too bad this will never happen.
p.s. if you make this I'm buying like 17 of them

i hate it so much when companies aren't consistent with product naming
like, Creality has the ever popular Ender 3 printers, along with the Ender 5, and iirc there's been an Ender 2 too, so that seems like an obvious naming scheme right?
well fuck you, because they also have the K1 and K2, as well as something called literally just Hi, and the CR-xx series with like, CR-10, CR-30, etc.
and because that isn't bad enough, the first Ender 3 was just Ender 3; the upgraded one was Ender 3 Pro, the next one up from that was Ender 3 V2, then there was the Ender 3 S1 because fuck you, and then the S1 Pro, and now there's like, V3 SE and KE, and a V2 Neo, etc.
or Tesla with like, Model S, Model Y, Model X; sure, it's letters
except fuck you, there's a 3 now, and also one isn't model anything it's a fucking Cybertruck
especially in the tech field there's so much of that and it just absolutely drives me up the walls
as a positive example though i'll mention Audi (most of the time anyways); they have consistent naming across their model ranges where there's a letter or two indicating the model line (A for the normal regular people cars, S for the sporty version, Q for SUVs, etc.), and a number indicating the size and "premiumness" of the model (for example, A4 is a regular midsize car, A6 is a bigger more premium one, A8 is basically a luxury car, etc.)
well with the exception of the TT and e-tron models which are an annoying inconsistency
