As someone who isn't in the bdsm scene but has done research, I feel violated. I know I consented to watching this; by choice, BUT I feel like this was forced upon me even though it wasn't. I would love if someone in the BDSM scene watched this and gave their opinion cause I feel like this movie broke the "rules within BDSM". Dogs Don't Wear Pants is a movie about a man who uses pain as his substance to process his grief years after his wife's tragic passing. I feel like this movie breaks duty of care. Yes, she's a Dominatrix but she's allowed her privacy and her safe space. Juha breaks that. Yes, BDSM can assist with processing trauma but the way Juha went about it felt incredibly unsafe and put not just his life at risk but also the mental health of Mona. Don't get me wrong, Dogs Don't Wear Pants is clever with how they use their lighting and how they use close ups to signify the pain of Juha. That's all brilliantly done but... I had to stop several times just to take a break, I don't like CNC (consensual non consent). It's not for me but watching this felt like I was being forced into a kink that went against what I consent to. It's incredibly pain inflictingly hard to sit through. When it got to the tooth pulling scene, I ended up throwing up.
