Kerry and V op shopping (Idk what it's called in America) and they find a box set of the Simpsons early seasons on dvd in some dusty corner.

V, for one, has no idea what a DVD is. for two, the Simpsons are almost on like their 100th season and it's just a terrible show. He does not wanna watch it but Kerry insists — "the first twelve seasons are the only ones worth watching."

He has a DVD player from like 2004 in his garage for some reason so they watch it.

Wouldn't it be something that part of the appeal to Kerry of this kleptopunk he all but dragged in from the dumps is that reconnection to his past, to something more authentic, to someone more himself, brings a rawness to his life he used to live in daily, before his name got big and bright and lavish, and poverty wasn't only in the realms of aesthetic for him, brings back those memories of grungy dives and cramped bar venues and shitty managed apartments and food with the same nutritional value as literal cardboard and clothes not even off the racks but from thrift shops and bins, when he stood for more than hollow corporate flagging and politics of convenience, sees that same rebellion he recognizes in V, same spark, same thirst for life he used to have, or maybe the same naivety depending on the V, to think things wouldn't always turn out this way eventually, empty
