much in the same way that i think charlie overcompensates with excessive pacifism, i think vaggie overcompensates with excessive submission. i've long held the belief that charlie is painfully, intimately aware of her own capacity for violence, and comes down so aggressively on the side of docility and non-confrontation because she's desperately tamping down on that side of her, the side that she doesn't want to feed, doesn't want to be.

but vaggie is a little different. vaggie knows exactly what cruelties she's capable of, and she is not only declawed by her own shame, she also doesn't trust herself to make any decisions anymore, at least not any decisions that are separate from charlie's desires. so she overcompensates by dedicating her every action and intention to charlie. chaggie would nearly be a 24/7 d/s dynamic if charlie was aware of Just How Much vaggie considers herself in service to charlie. this doesn't mean she blindly supports charlie's every whim, but it does mean that even her dissent is still framed in her mind as another facet of loyalty to charlie's vision, that she might disagree with how charlie goes about doing things, but her ultimate goal is still to always help charlie get what she wants. "i'm supposed to protect you, i'm supposed to never fail you—if i can't help you, what's the point of me?" this startles and disturbs charlie to hear, and rightfully so, since charlie has been seeing their relationship as perfectly equal while vaggie seems to see it as a kind of unspoken vassalhood, which is not something i think charlie fully understands, if it all, even by the end of episode 7

the point being, both charlie and vaggie are holding themselves back all of the time, constantly. while charlie keeps her sharp edges messily tucked away, pretending they don't exist even though everyone can see them peaking out from under the closet door, vaggie is continuously grinding down her claws with sandpaper and then almost throwing up with self loathing every time they grow back, out of terror that charlie might see

she's a fallen angel, she's dating the princess of hell, she's got the biggest kill count of the main cast. she's judgmental, she's guilt ridden, she'll spend the rest of her days repenting but doesnt think it'll ever be enough. she believes that without a purpose she's worthless and she doesn't know love that isn't total devotion. she's a fighter, she's a femme, she's protective, she's easily angered, she's one of the most levelheaded of the hotel. she would die for the woman she loves but she fell for the one person in hell who would never ask that of someone. she's socially awkward. she was named vagina and by god she will not change it.

Happy Pride Month everyone, last year I did a series of Twisted Wonderland collage with fans labelling many of its main male characters as gay, so for this year I'll be focusing on the Hellaverse. That's why I'm starting things off with the Hazbin Hotel ship we all know and love, CHAGGIE.

I meant to upload this and the other collages I've done so far yesterday, but real life got in the way. That's why I'm doing this and keep your eyes open out for the rest of them and more.

i knew this chaggie still frame vaguely reminded me of something familiar but i just never realized the thought was even there!

charlie's low empathy/high sympathy desperation to help people without ever really understanding WHY they feel the way they do + vaggie's complex about needing to be useful to the people she loves or else she's worthless = charlie completely mistaking vaggie's self-sacrifical behavior for an expression of love and not the trauma response that it is, because all she's grasping are the literal words out of vaggie's mouth and not the alarming nuances of terrified self-hatred lurking underneath

Ive lost my hyperfixation in hazbin and this couple. For now i prt much just like chaggie. And i dont really have the dire passion that i once had. Maybe when season 2 comes out ill be all over it and have my hyperfixation once again. But right now im js kinda distancing myself from hazbin. Chaggie will always have a place in my heart and ill always love it for the healthiness and love they share and i hope someday ill have the same perfectly flawed relationship as them. For now thouh, im going to focus a bit more on my other interests, like Descendants: ror and Red Dead Redemption 2, and obviously INSIDE OUT 2!! I cant wait to show you guys art of my current fsvorites :>> 🫶🫶

Dont you worry though, im not going to stop makin art of Chaggie anytime soon! They just may be a little less frequent, but never once will i stop drawing my favorite babiesss!!

(Oh also arcane, whenever that comes out. I can just FEEL the hf rolling in once it releases. Mmm. Maybe not, i can never guess when i gain an interest 🤧)

Do you ever think about how Vaggie is quite literally the protector, the guardian angel, of the Hazbin Hotel, which is Charlie's whole dream? You ever think about how Charlie is Vaggie's metaphorical wings, she is her Heaven and her purpose to fight for love? How a demon and an angel (specifically, the princess of Hell and an Exorcist) fell for each other in the most tender way ever? How they mean everything to each other? How the key to their happiness is each other? How they feel capable of facing anything if they're together? How Vaggie considers herself Charlie's armour but then when the actual battle came to be Charlie was the one who had a shield, the protector (probably because she learned from Carmilla that Vaggie's fighting style was reckless and she wasn't going to let anyone hurt her girlfriend)? How they never separated in the last battle until Adam killed Pentious and then they kept trying to reunite despite Lute and Adam's efforts to separate them? How Vaggie survived and defeated Lute because she was fueled with her love for Charlie, because Charlie was her whole reason to fight and live? How Vaggie never doubted Charlie's project and was willing to see it to its end despite Charlie being mad at her? How she would have stayed in the hotel even if everyone else had gone away? How Charlie just had to mention in Cannibal Town, while still angry, that the hotel wasn't something she was managing alone, that she was doing it with her partner? How long before her talk with Rosie she had already bought a souvenir for her girlfriend, whom she was still angry at? How Charlie became Vaggie's hope when literally her whole world turned its back on her? How Charlie found Vaggie at her literal lowest point ever and saved her, healed her? How she fell in love with Vaggie when she was at her absolute worst, having just survived a brutal mutilation by the hands of the Exorcists? How Vaggie was probably the first person to ever be truly thankful to Charlie for her kindness? How Charlie was lonely, with a stranded relationship with her father and with her mother having disappeared and gone no contact a couple years before, and found true companionship in this kind lady she had found after the Extermination? How they literally say to each other that they love each other more than anything in this world?
