Rockaway Playland was open on weekends in the winter. Here, old and young alike enjoy some rides on February 16, 1953.

Feb 16 - put away yesterday's laundry plus did my once in a blue moon Folding Of The Socks. Which deserves the caps since I wear regular socks over support socks and sometimes wear night socks in winter, so that's anywhere from 14-21 pairs of socks worn per week, and I have enough socks to go 2+ weeks between laundry loads when I'm being particularly chore avoidant. Which means the handy heap of loose socks on top of the dresser can get... kind of huge. So yeah that was probably a good 40-ish minutes of matching and folding and putting away (see also: why matching and folding socks is a chore I avoid a lot).
Also stripped and remade my bed, and ran two more loads of laundry; the stripped set of sheets, and the set I meant to put on only to find something had been spilled on the stack since their last use and left a dark stain most of the way through the pile. So the nice blue linen set is currently in the wash, and I put a blue and white striped poly-cotton mix set on instead.
Laundry is still ongoing so I'm probably going to game a bit before heading to sleep. And yeah I also crocheted a lot earlier today, hoodie is progressing well.
For supper I combined the remaining leftovers of the pork stew from the other night with a tub of tortiere filling from the freezer, and made it into a deep dish cottage pie; I also grabbed some of the roasted garlic I have in the freezer to make garlic mashed potatoes for the topping. Yummy, but a bit over half the casserole dish is still leftover (which considering the stew was made from leftover pork roast and gravy makes this leftovers of leftovers of leftovers). The recursion must stop here! Like yes, sure, I can think of at least two different dishes I could turn these leftovers into in turn but this is madness already.

Sailor Ken Johnson of Buena Vista, Pa., is politely awakened and given a cup of coffee by Mrs. E. M. Keiser, supervisor of the USO lounge in Grand Central Station, on February 16, 1943. There were always a half dozen servicemen grabbing naps before train time. They curled up with, “Wake me up in time, please.” The USO ladies had a system: they pinned a time tag on the sleeping beauties, and woke them up with, “Want some coffee?”

Feb 15 - Have successfully escaped Timberborn ...because No Man's Sky just started a new expedition, and I love expeditions. Spent much of the afternoon and evening happily working through three of the five stages of the Omega expedition.
Supper was the pork tenderloin I seasoned yesterday, roasted, with sour cream & fried onion mashed potatoes, and mixed steamed veg.
Feb 16 - Ran the vacuum downstairs. Played the rest of the Omega expedition; just waiting for the optional community research stages to complete before I officially end my participation in it (and can bring back stuff I sent over from my save). Since I have the option of returning to the original save while the expedition is still in progress, I've done that. I am currently flying/porting around to all the bases I have on that save, getting rid of extraneous ones and, as a patch a while back scrambled the preview shots of what each base looks like, redoing those for the ones I'm keeping. Once that's finished I'll probably spend a little time playing through things on this save that are new to the game since I moved on from it, like hunting down a staff weapon. Also, I have a save I've earmarked to go full pirate route on, and I may actually play that a little in the near-ish future; Omega added the ability to force the surrender of pirate dreadnaughts, and I think that'd be a fun save to have my freighter be one of those. Also I haven't really played the outlaw side of the game, and it'd be lots of new stuff for me to try out.
Easy supper of one of the pizzas I made a couple weeks back.
