This goes for every other Cybertron, Destronger and Destron
Tumblr media
For those who don't get the joke, Robots in Disguise (2001) was originally an anime called Car Robots, which featured a new character named Fire Convoy.
Tumblr media
The rank of "Convoy" was an Autobot title made to honor Optimus Prime and held by bots who had an uncanny resemblance to Oppy, such as Lio Convoy, Lio Jr., Big Convoy and Black Convoy.

Relevant Info
-alright so this guy is just straight up a cult leader.
-some primes don't really take to the whole eldritch madness thing too too well. Case in point: him. He killed the senator he originally pledged his loyalty to and disappeared into the sea of rust. Some of his followers joined him. Most bots stay very very far away from the territory they're said to occupy.
-scratched off his own sigils and puts rust in his eyes so Primus cannot see through him. He can't get rid of the divine connection. Any damage inflicted on him will always heal, no matter how severe, so he has to blind himself every day.
-a lot of flowery language and a tendency to talk in riddles, but sometimes he'll break from that persona for a moment every now and then to make a shitty pun in the most deadpan voice youve ever heard.
-extremely down to fuck an organic if one should make it to his little kingdom, but he's gonna be fuckin weird about it
-a masochist dom. He will order you to hurt him and instruct you exactly how to do so. He will praise your willingness to destroy him like it's something holy.

Finally found time to take the HasLab Omega Prime out of the box
Tumblr media
Now I'm not a toy photographer by any stretch but this thing is beautiful....I just need a bigger space to actually show it off in

And behold, my attempt at one the "attach everything" fan-modes....the ladder gun makes it a bit unstable, but who amongst us is fully stable

Watching transformers rid (the old anime one).
Optimus immediately kidnapped a child for his own. “I’ll take care of you.” The second his dad was out of the picture. Like the fxck? Convoy?
Why did he bring him???
That’s one way to become a father.

I had received my Hasbro Haslab Omega Prime recently, so lots of pictures will be up soon.
Just from the initial unboxing, the one thing I really appreciate is the presentation of the packaging.
Love all the illustrations that adorn the outside of the box. It really pops! Shout out to the artists that worked on this.

My Haslab Omega Prime is here!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transformers Robots in Disguise from 2001 was my first introduction to Earth based vehicle Transformers. I watched Beast Wars back in the day and that was my first introduction to Transformers overall. The pic on the left is Omega Prime/God Fire Convoy in Japan combined from Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus while on the right its Omega Prime with the rest of Super Mode Optimus attached on. There is a secret mode where you can attach all of the Super Mode Optimus parts on him and this is what I made until they release an official video instructions on how it's properly done.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is Optimus Prime or Fire Convoy as he is named in Car Robots: Transformers in Japan with the Super Mode armor in base mode. Love that you can give Optimus the missile rack mounted on his shoulders just like in the original toy back in the early 2000s. With this new version he's got better articulation like an ab crunch and ratcheted hips, knees, and shoulders. He's got thicker thighs to even out Super Mode and Omega Prime's proportions. I did have to do some sanding in the inner spinal column because you have to push down on the body and out of the box it had no cracks on the abs, but I did the sanding to prevent future damaging there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now here is Optimus in Super Mode and vehicle mode. Like I said before from the base mode parts you can armor up Optimus into his iconic Super Mode. Still retains his articulation from his normal robot mode but not has finger articulation. This version of Optimus here is my favorite because of the vehicle mode choice. A fire engine fits Optimus so well because he saves lives like fire fighters. Optimus Prime needs to be fire engines more often! Bonus points to this version for allowing Cerebros, the bonus Titanmaster figure to sit in the bucket. Also the ladder extends and the missiles in it can flip out while the warheads are removable.
Tumblr media
The other two figures include in this are Ultra Magnus or God Magnus in Car Robots: Transformers and Bluebolts. The cartoon/anime really played up the anti-hero-ness of this version of Ultra Magnus and it really stuck with me as a kid. I love that the creative team really redesigned Bluebolts here. Originally 2001 Bluebolts was just a weapon pack for Ultra Magnus, but here the design team gave her cool modular parts and can still transform into Ultra Magnus' weapon pack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks to her modular nature Bluebolts can separate and fill out the empty spaces in Ultra Magnus' chest and back legs. Really smart way for weapons storage.
Tumblr media
I adore this vehicle mode for Ultra Magnus. He homages the 80s UM by being a car carrier truck but its more like what a car carrier would look like driving on the streets at least how I usually see them. Vehicle mode can carry up to 3 cars.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The photos don't do it justice but Omega Prime here can double hand the nearly 2ft tall Matrix Blade and you can pull off the Obari pose! Its freaking cool! God I love Transformers Robots in Disguise/ Car Robots: Transformers!

Transformers HasLab RID 2001 Omega Prime
Personally, this is my first HasLab piece, and I know people who've gotten them, and I've heard quite a few people talk about them, and the one thing that I kept hearing them described as (apart from Unicron, but it's also Unicron) is that they're very playable. Like, that they have that high quality feel, but you're not worried about them shattering or falling to pieces or anything as you're transforming them. And that's kind of my experience. There's one or two scary parts, but for the vast majority of this toy I had a lot of fun. Going through the instructions the first time was a little confusing, but I was easily able to figure everything out on every subsequent transformation without them. I don't know how easy it'll be to get one on the aftermarket, but it's a really fun piece. And as this is several separate toys, let's go through them one at a time.
Optimus Prime: You could have sold this figure alone. The truck is very solid, the robot is solid and easy to get in all manner of poses, the super mode parts are pretty intuitive, and said combined mode is the cherry on top. Like, there's tabs for almost everything, tons of extra joints to get things just right, it's very fun.
There are a few downsides, though. There are a couple of places that have specific order-of-operations, like with the knees. The ratchet joint on the ladder when moving it down feels very scary with how loud and rough it is. For all the locking points, the combined head just kind of sits there and rattles around. And the thighs are a little weird? Like, there's a thigh joint as well as transformation cut right at the knee, and they don't always like working in tandem together.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the ladder over time, but every other thing is just a small thing to look out for. (EDIT: I know about the wide-spread waist issues. I got one of the lucky copies where everything slides normally. If you get one, check it immediately.)
Ultra Magnus: A bit more complicated a figure than Optimus, but he has a lot more to do. Like with Optimus, when everything is together it is very solid. The car carrier mode can fit a small car inside it, if you want, which is neat. The robot also has a decent bit of posability to it; not as good as Optimus, but enough to get some good poses in, especially with the included stand.
His transformation is probably his one downside. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easily to replicate, but there are a lot of weird steps to it, like with his backpack. There are also a number of notable gaps, like around the collar and in the legs, but that's a necessity of the ultimate combination.
Omega Prime: Optimus has the same configuration as Omega Prime as he does in his Super Mode, so you don't need to do anything extra when switching. And like with Super Mode, it's a very solid combination. I'm not at all worried about it falling apart. It's also very posable.
There are tabs on the sides of the chest that have trouble locking at points, but they aren't required, luckily. That's really it, though. There's also supposed to be a canon full combined mode that uses every part from both Ultra Magnus and the Super Mode armor, but I haven't figured it out yet.
Tumblr media
Bluebolts: It's cool they turned Ultra Magnus' giant weapon into a Weaponizer. Like any Weaponizer, Bluebolts is capable of many different configurations, three of which are canon. Bluebolts can form Ultra Magnus' usual giant cannon as well as rifles for him or be separated into pieces to fill out some of Magnus' holes. It's just a neat little addition to the package.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cerebros: is here. The seats on Prime's ladders are both fitted for him, which means they should also be fitted for any Head/Power Master. Not needed, but it's cool he's here.
The Sword: Just briefly wanted to mention the sword. It's a bit unwieldy; you're really just supposed to have him hold it planted (I'm surprised they didn't add a specific bottom piece for just that). If you two hand it, you can get a few poses out of it, but not a lot, and you need to pull the handle apart and put it back together to get it in the right position for the hands to work with it.
Overall, I think this is a great toy. Four different figures of varying size, multiple combinations, lots of play value. It's a fantastic set of figures and a lot of fun. It's a shame how so many people have been affected by serious QC issues, as it's definitely negatively impacted people's opinions on this toy.

"Omega" level threat (Fan First stream hint).
"Fire" up your engines (Instagram post hint).
Background on the announcement mimics the combination pattern from RID.
HASLAB OMEGA PRIME IS REAL!
(Will probably costream too, but I'll get back to y'all on that.)
