Woke up early on a Sunday morning, mum was just preparing to go out to the market so I had a steamed Meat Bun for breakfast. Not sure if it was chicken or pork filling but it was kind of lacking as this is not from the usual stall we often patronize.

When mum returned from her marketing trip, she bought me Economy Rice (菜饭) for brunch. The braised fried bean curd skin and the cabbage stir-fry partially covered up the piece of steamed fish fillet.

This is excellent. OP you should be proud. You'll be teaching your niece a skill that is becoming more and more lost lately, but is so important. Fish is extremely healthy for her throughout life and being able to fillet a fish yourself is a skill that will save her money in the long run. Beautiful.

Also, I wish this was available in a market sense. Toys are a great teaching tool. I'm not saying you must make this a business, but if you are so inclined, I think it would be such an asset for parents and home ec classes. Beautiful beautiful work!

I am on my way to being the best auntie ever or the worst sister-in-law that ever lived. Possibly both.

I am making my 2-year-old niece a plushy for her birthday. She is very hands-on baby and wants to help with everything and be involved in the center of attention. A few weeks after her birthday everyone is going dipnetting. She is two and can not help with dip netting or do anything but watch.

So I am making her a toy salmon. And I am making it so she can filet it. It has guts. It has bones. It is all one piece and child friendly, and I am debating using embedded magnets or velcro to hold the filets on.

She has a kitchen set with a little wooden knife at her grandparents house, who have already heard about this and think its a great idea. We are gonna teach this kid to clean and process fish. She already knows where meat comes from and she will want to get in and do what everyone else is doing which she can not do because the fish are only slightly smaller than she is.

aaaaa. iii needed to make something self indulgent!!!! and for me that means drawing Bonnie and also putting a frankly stupid amount of work into rendering food!! outside of the onigiri and spaghetti (kind of), most of these were firsts for me and GOD im so happy with the results. i’ve seen a few people say that my art makes them hungry teehee. i hope this illicits the same reaction! please enjoy :3
