Best Cross-Platform App Development Frameworks

In today’s fast-paced digital world, businesses need to reach users on multiple platforms without excessive development costs. Cross-platform app development has emerged as the perfect solution, allowing developers to write a single codebase and deploy it across iOS, Android, and even web applications.
But with so many frameworks available, how do you choose the right one?
In this guide, we’ll explore the best cross-platform app development frameworks of 2025, their benefits, key features, and how they compare in terms of performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Whether you’re a startup looking for a quick MVP or an enterprise aiming for a seamless multi-platform experience, this guide will help you make an informed decision.
What is a Cross-Platform App Development Framework?
A Cross-Platform App Development Framework is a software tool that enables developers to create mobile applications that run on multiple operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows) using a single codebase. Unlike native development, which requires separate coding for different platforms, cross-platform frameworks streamline the process, reducing development time and costs.
What Are the Benefits of Cross-Platform App Development Frameworks?
1. Code Reusability: Write Once, Run Anywhere
One of the most significant advantages of cross-platform development is code reusability. Instead of writing separate codebases for iOS and Android, developers can create a single codebase that works across multiple platforms. This approach:

Flutter vs. Swift: A Comparison of Two Leading iOS App Development Frameworks

The most in-demand and well-liked technologies for businesses providing iOS app development services are Flutter and Swift. While Apple designed Swift clearly for the development of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS apps, Google produced Flutter, an open-source framework for creating multi-platform applications. With the native technology, can the pretender win out? Which one should you pick for the project? In this comprehensive blog comparison of Flutter and Swift, let’s find out.
What is your top priority for the business you run? Does it encourage loyalty? Enhancing your brand image? Increasing sell-through or making yourself more visible and approachable? Mobile application trends are your one-stop shop for anything.
This post will look at two distinct frameworks: Flutter and Swift. Let’s first review the definitions of these programming languages before we begin our comparison. While Swift is a native mobile app development language used for iOS app development, Flutter is a cross-platform language used to develop Android and iOS apps.
We will guide you through each of these frameworks and help you in selecting the one that best suits your long-term business aims and developmental goals.
A Short Introduction to Flutter
Have you been eager to create an iOS Flutter app but need more fundamental knowledge? Flutter is a very new framework that Google has developed. The development of a type-safe framework that manages numerous sophisticated features simplifies UI and layout rendering, and supports high-performance apps is the aim of the Flutter development.
As a result, Flutter offers robust application development for Windows, iOS, and Android on all platforms. It is a deliberate framework that assures developers are satisfied with the code they write by taking into consideration their advantages.
Also, the Flutter app development eliminates the need for platform-specific issues like UI frameworks and helps developers create apps that utilize the newest features available in the Android SDK.
Features of Flutter App Development
Google’s Flutter open-source framework encourages collaboration and community involvement.
See code changes in the app instantly without having to restart it or lose its present state.
Large selection of customizable widgets to build aesthetically pleasing interfaces on various platforms.
Use a single codebase to create apps for several platforms, doing away with the requirement for separate programming.
Seamless Google Firebase integration for simple backend service implementation, including databases, communications, and authentication.
A Short Introduction to Swift
Apple created Swift, a high-performance, secure, and compatible programming language. Because of its many benefits for developers over other programming languages like C#, Android development, etc., it was utilized practically everywhere in the world.
Apple suggested Swift in 2016 as it provides security, speed, and user-friendliness for developing iOS apps and writing apps for the iOS platform.
Features of Swift App Development
Swift’s source code is open for programmers to view, modify, and add to for free, encouraging collaboration and ongoing development.
Swift’s present syntax is designed to be both readable and writable, which reduces verbose code and enhances developer productivity.
The smooth integration of Swift with Objective-C allows developers to leverage pre-built tools and libraries easily.

Difference Between Flutter and Swift

1. Integration and Development
Flutter and Swift vary significantly, and this distinction is crucial to the development process. Flutter app development differs from Swift app development when the development process is involved.
During the development process, continuous integration is provided by the XCode server to ensure that the iOS app can be deployed. However, this could limit Apple’s ability to scale its apps. They provide BuddyBuild, a less-than-ideal solution, for the apps.
The new method has allowed for the detection, development, testing, and packaging of any application using Flutter development tools. The issue is that there is no need to setup the process in any way.
2. Accessibility
The UI-UX design of the application improves for users with disabilities due to its accessibility features. By making applications available to everyone, you should also enhance their life with less effort through iPhone app development.
Since accessibility is already included within the UI Kit basis for Apple’s native tools, there is no compelling reason to import a separate framework to allow adaptability in native applications.
Apple provides the Accessibility API; however, to use the UI Accessibility method in an iOS application, programmers need to supply appropriate availability data for each UI component.
To create better applications with accessibility assistance for individuals with impairments, Flutter needs to be developed, as the information about improving the accessibility of Flutter apps should be included in the Flutter guide.
3. The Onboarding Procedure
Compared to developing iOS apps using Flutter, native iOS development has a less complicated onboarding process that requires less configuration.
All you need to get started is XCode and a macOS machine. There are several books and online resources available for learning Swift and iOS development. XCode and other Flutter tools are required in Flutter to start developing iOS apps. Since Flutter is still a relatively new technology, there are comparatively fewer development resources accessible for it than in developing native iOS apps.
4. Performance
You should be aware that Swift is the default language for iOS apps, which gives it a significant edge over Flutter when it comes to performance. Moreover, improved performance can be expected for tasks requiring a lot of computational power. When it comes to performance, Swift might be a superior choice. At this point, you have to take seriously every mobile app performance indication.
Still, Flutter doesn’t lag. Dart first makes use of an idle expert. Secondly, AOT (early) is set up to facilitate quick interaction between the device and the user. Flutter will perform nearly the same as native Swift, except when you must take advantage of the iOS platform.
5. Application Size
Flutter offers a minimal runtime that makes it easier to create fast and affordable mobile applications. Its numerous tools and optimizations, like code spitting and tree sharing, contribute to the application’s overall smaller size.
Swift, a native iOS framework, facilitates the development of compact and practical iOS apps. Its compiler contributes to both performance optimization and application size minimization. In addition, it provides a multitude of optimization choices, such as link-time and whole-module optimization. These help to further minimize Swift apps’ application sizes.

Conclusion
In conclusion, Flutter and Swift are both great options for mobile app development; which one you choose will depend on your requirements and preferences. While Swift offers native performance, a robust type system, and powerful development tools like Xcode, Flutter offers cross-platform development, hot reload, rich widgets, and quicker development. The decision between the two will ultimately come down to your priorities and the needs of your application. To gain conviction and continue with your Flutter development according to your demands and specifications, you can get in contact with the top Flutter app development company.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Does iOS development use Flutter?
Flutter has become known as a leading choice for iOS app development since its 2017 launch. Developers around the world love Flutter. They can develop apps for iOS, Android, web, and desktop with just one code because of Flutter. Over one million apps have been developed with Flutter as an outcome, giving it a considerable fanbase.
2. How does Flutter’s future look?
The development of Flutter has a bright future. With plenty of space for growth, the framework is still in its early phases. Flutter is free to use and available under an open-source license. Since Google is the one who developed it, there will be a lot of support.
3. Is every iOS feature available to Flutter?
Flutter can access some iOS features in its development. Still, in certain situations—especially for complex functions or platform-specific functionality—direct integration with particular iOS APIs may call for the use of Swift or Objective-C.

back to pink
alexia putellas x cosmetologist!reader
summary: you persuade ale to change her hairstyle again
love, comfort, fluff
the sun spills into your studio in soft rays, casting a warm glow over the room as you adjust your station, your hands automatically going through the motions of preparing your tools.
you've always loved the quiet of the afternoons here. it’s your space, your little sanctuary, and today, it feels even more special with alexia sitting in your chair.
she’s been with you for nearly an hour now, scrolling through her phone, the corners of her lips slightly curled upward in that way that tells you she’s thinking of something amusing.
your heart flutters every time you catch her looking up at you through the mirror, her soft eyes full of a quiet warmth that only you get to see when she’s completely relaxed.
your relationship has always been like this, full of easy silences and stolen glances that say more than words ever could.
"so," you say, turning to face her with a comb in hand, "what’s the plan for today? keeping it simple, or are we doing something big?"
alexia leans back in the chair, setting her phone aside as she gives you a thoughtful look.
"i want a change," she says, her voice carrying that familiar mix of playfulness and seriousness that always keeps you on your toes.
"oh, a change? are we talking drastic?" you ask, moving behind her and running your fingers through her hair, admiring how soft it feels under your touch. thanks to you of course.
it’s natural for you now, this closeness between the two of you. she’s always been comfortable with you, ever since that first appointment years ago.
a grin tugs at your lips as a memory surfaces. "how about we go pink again?" you joke, remembering the bold look she had two years ago, right after the two of you first met.
alexia had come in for a hair appointment, and you’d convinced her—half-jokingly, half-serious—to try something wild. she had agreed to pink, and you had been in awe of how stunning she looked with it. it was also the day she’d asked you out, and the rest, as they say, is history.
alexia tilts her head back, her grin mirroring yours. "you know... i was actually thinking about that."
you blink, pausing mid-comb. "wait, seriously? you want pink again?"
"yeah," she says, completely nonchalant. "it’s been a while, and i think it could be fun."
"alexia," you laugh, shaking your head, "i was kidding! you really want to go pink again?"
"why not?" she shrugs, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "you liked it, didn’t you?"
"you looked incredible," you admit, your mind already racing with the logistics of recreating that look. "but are you sure? i mean, it’s... pink."
"i’m sure," she says, her voice unwavering. "besides, it’ll be our little anniversary surprise."
you tilt your head, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. she always has a way of making even the simplest moments feel special, like this isn’t just about her hair but about the memories you’ve shared.
"okay, pink it is," you say, setting the comb down and grabbing the dye and developer from your station."
but don’t say i didn’t warn you if people start obsessing over it again."
"let them obsess," she chuckles, leaning back in the chair with a content sigh. "i’m used to it by now."
“don’t get cocky!” you joke.
you start by sectioning her hair with careful precision, your fingers moving with the kind of practiced ease that comes from years of experience. you've always taken pride in your work, but when it’s alexia in your chair, it feels different—like there’s a personal connection to every strand, every detail.
you mix the dye, the vibrant pink color swirling in the bowl as you stir it to the perfect consistency. as you begin applying it to her hair, your mind drifts back to that first time you met her.
you had known who she was—alexia putellas, the star of barcelona, the captain everyone admired. but sitting in your chair back then, she wasn’t just the footballer the world knew. she was charming, sweet, and surprisingly easy to talk to.
by the end of the appointment, she had made the first move, asking you to dinner. you had been so flustered, you nearly dropped the hot curling iron.
"remember the first time i did this?" you ask, your voice soft as you work the dye into her hair.
alexia hums in response, her eyes closed as she relaxes under your touch. "how could i forget? i’ve never seen anyone so flustered."
"hey," you protest lightly, "you’re the one who asked me out! i wasn’t expecting it."
"i know," she murmurs, a smile playing on her lips. "but you said yes."
"of course i did," you say, leaning down slightly to press a quick kiss to the top of her head.
"who could say no to you?"
the dyeing process is methodical, almost therapeutic in its routine. you make sure every section is coated evenly, massaging the color in with gentle hands, knowing exactly how long to let it sit.
time passes in a comfortable silence, the only sounds being the occasional hum of your tools and the quiet rustle of fabric as alexia shifts in the chair.
when the dye has set, you rinse her hair, feeling the softness return as the pink starts to emerge. it’s vibrant, bold, and so uniquely her.
once her hair is clean, you blow-dry it with a round brush, giving it volume and soft waves that cascade down her back.
finally, you step back, admiring your work.
"all done," you say, turning her chair around to face the mirror.
alexia’s eyes widen as she stares at herself in the reflection. she runs her fingers through the pink strands, her smile growing wider with each second.
"wow..." she breathes, her voice filled with awe. "it’s perfect."
"you’re obsessed," you tease, watching her admire her new look with a gleam in her eye.
"can you blame me?" she grins, twisting a curl around her finger. "it’s brighter than last time."
before you can say anything more, the door to your studio swings open, and you hear familiar voices fill the room.
mapi and ingrid stroll in, their conversation cutting off the second they see alexia.
"what the—" mapi gasps, her eyes immediately zeroing in on alexia’s hair. "are you serious? you did it again?"
ingrid steps closer, her face lighting up with admiration.
"you look amazing," she says, her voice soft with awe. "the pink is perfect on you."
alexia laughs, clearly enjoying the reaction. "thanks," she says, running a hand through her hair, showing it off.
"but it’s a secret. you can’t tell anyone on the team yet."
"oh, we won’t," mapi grins, her eyes flicking to you with a mischievous glint.
"but i have to say, y/n you outdid yourself this time."
"what can i say? she’s got good taste," you reply with a wink, though you feel a surge of pride at their compliments.
alexia chuckles, still gazing at herself in the mirror, clearly enamored with the pink. "i love it,"
she murmurs, her voice softening as she turns to look at you. "thank you, amor."
you step closer, your heart fluttering at the affectionate term. "always happy to help," you say, reaching out to smooth a stray curl behind her ear.
"but seriously, you look incredible."
she stands up from the chair, taking a moment to admire her reflection one last time before turning back to you. "you’re incredible," she murmurs, leaning in to press a soft kiss to your lips. "and now... i can’t wait for our anniversary. this is going to be a surprise no one sees coming."
you smile against her lips, your heart full. "i can't wait either."

realisation and confessions [genshin ver]
synopsis - how does she realise she has a crush, and how does she confess
includes - arlecchino
warnings - gn!reader, fluff, wc - 502
a/n: the second part to the request by @stimix !!
arlecchino was always perceived as stoic.
seen as a cold and calculating by most that saw her, even in passing glances. so it wouldn't be totally out of the question for some to assume or joke about the fact that she wouldn't trouble herself with a lover - or even that someone could love her.
even arlecchino herself didn't exactly see herself to be the kind to be troubled with falling in love with someone.
she has her interests, that certainly didn't align with finding a partner anytime soon, and she much preferred to be less perceived, arlecchino valued deception as it was quite a useful tool.
but by no means was arlecchino oblivious. she could recognise those small signs in her behaviour when she was around you and you only - the signs that would indicate that she had in fact developed some feelings that were more than a simple friendly ones.
but she wanted to make sure that it was in fact due to her developing those feelings for you. just because she recognised the signs didn't mean she would admit to them or even accept them straight off the bat.
so, almost unconsciously, arlecchino began to “dote” on you a bit more than usual. luckily for her, you began to take it as her being more comfortable around you and actually perceiving you as a close friend rather than something a bit more than that.
arlecchino would start being more aware of you, looking out for you more and being more initiative about talking to you rather than you talking to her.
and when you still remained constantly on her mind, or making her heart flutter with something as simple as your smile. she knew she had fell head over heels for you.
however, even when she finally admitted to the fact she held romantic feelings toward you, due to that stoic nature of hers, she found it hard to confess.
knowing that she had feelings for you made her practically fall for you even more. she reasoned that if she had fallen for you, then you were the one for her and so she should pursue you with her best shot. but for some unknown reason to her, arlecchino found it difficult.
being “in love” meant being vulnerable in a way that she hadn't let anyone see, and that was scary to her. but she'd rather not let her feelings affect her much more than it had, and keeping them bottled up would start affecting her more.
so eventually she would pluck up the courage to confess. arlecchino would be half torn between being blunt and upfront and doing it subtly, so that if she was rejected then it would be easy for her to play it off.
but eventually she would settle for being blunt about it.

Hello you wonder!
My request is just a first meeting with reader x a driver if your choice! (A meet cute, or a meet… not so cute). The driver lies about their occupation (or some other small info about themselves), for self preservation reasons (anonymity or whatever idk?) and reader just rolls with it.
Writing is something that just takes time, so don’t worry if you’re not constantly writing. It’s been years since I really wrote anything, but it’s a gift I’m sure you have :)
Keep your head up, and welcome to the community! ❤️
Thank you sooo much<3 this is my first time writing i hope you enjoy it i really tried my best🧡
Reader x Oscar Piastri
Sheltered Secrets - Oscar Piastri
Summary: they both meet at the library but one of them is hiding a secret…
780 words

Oscar had never particularly enjoyed libraries. The musty smell of old books, the suffocating silence, and the overwhelming pressure to be studious never appealed to him. But this time was different. Today, he needed a refuge, a place to escape the prying eyes of the world outside. As he stepped inside the grand, wood-paneled building, he felt a wave of relief wash over him.
As he wandered through the aisles, his fingers grazing the spines of novels and textbooks alike, he stumbled upon a cozy reading nook, where a girl sat engrossed in a book. Her red hair fell in soft waves around her shoulders, and she occasionally glanced up, a smile dancing on her lips each time her gaze crossed his. He felt a strange pull towards her, something he hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Mind if I join you? Oscar asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
She looked up, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. “Not at all. I’m just trying to escape reality for a bit.”
Oscar chuckled, settling into the chair across from her. “Aren’t we all?”
As they exchanged pleasantries, Oscar felt an unexpected connection. He learned that her name was River, a university student studying chemistry . As they chatted, he found himself wanting to impress her, wanting to share a part of himself that he rarely revealed. But with the weight of his own fame pressing heavily on his shoulders, he felt compelled to invent a different narrative.
“I work in software development,” he lied smoothly, crafting a story about designing applications for educational purposes. It was harmless enough, he convinced himself, a way to keep his life private.
“Oh, that sounds interesting!” River replied, her eyes widening with intrigue. “What kind of apps?”
Oscar scrambled for an answer, drawing from his limited knowledge of the tech world. “You know, stuff that helps students manage their studies better. Organization tools and time management apps.”
As the conversation flowed, he found himself captivated by Rivers passion for her studies. She spoke animatedly about different elements , chemical compounds , and the importance of protecting the planet. The way she lit up when she talked about her dreams made Oscar’s heart flutter. He realized he was falling for her, even if he was hiding behind a façade.
Days turned into weeks, and their library meetings became a cherished routine. They shared laughter and stories, bonding over their love for books and dreams for the future. But the deeper their connection grew, the heavier Oscar’s secret weighed on him.
One fateful afternoon, as they sat on a plush couch surrounded by towering shelves, River turned to him, her expression serious. “Oscar, can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” he replied, his heart racing.
“Why do you always talk about work in software development? I mean, it’s fascinating, but I feel like there’s something you’re not telling me. You’re not just a regular developer, are you?”
At that moment, panic surged through him. He opened his mouth to respond, but the truth eluded him. Instead, he plastered on a smile. “It’s just my way of keeping things simple. You know how it is—no one wants to hear about the boring stuff.”
River studied him, her eyes searching for honesty. “If you ever want to share, I’m here. I really enjoy our time together, Oscar.”
He swallowed hard, the weight of his deception suffocating him. “Me too, River. You’re special.”
The days passed, and eventually, the truth unraveled in a way Oscar never expected. While scrolling through social media, River stumbled upon a post about Oscar’s racing career. Her heart sank as she realized the fabrications he had spun around her.
That evening, she confronted him at the library, her eyes shimmering with hurt. “Why didn’t you just tell me the truth, Oscar? I liked you for who you are—not who you pretended to be.”
Oscar felt a wave of shame wash over him. “I was scared. Scared of being just another name, another headline. I thought if I could be normal for once, you’d like me for me.”
Tears welled in her eyes, but then she smiled through her sadness. “I do like you, Oscar. But you need to be honest with me.”
In that moment of vulnerability, he took a step forward. “I like you too, more than I’ve ever let on. I’m sorry for hiding.”
They stood there, emotions swirling around them, the truth breaking the barriers they had unknowingly built. In the quiet of the library, surrounded by whispered secrets, Oscar took her hand, sealing their newfound honesty with a promise—no more lies, just the raw, beautiful reality of what they could become together.
I really hope you enjoyed this i really enjoyed writing this like i said thank you soo much

For the RO Jumble: Holland and F? 👀
Grouping yours and @agentnatesewell's to answer together—and thank you both for asking!! 🫶🏼
(answering for Felix specifically, but I'm not sure there'd be any real difference for Holland if it were Farah instead.)
They might take a bit longer to develop because I think Holland’s kind of unsure what to make of Felix at first—probably not until the last third of Book 1 does she start to get a good read on him. She doesn't dislike him: she just isn't totally sure how seriously to take him.
BUT—once she gets to know him better, Felix would honestly be such a breath of fresh air for Holland in so many ways. She’d definitely have to adjust how she handles relationships—she’s pretty secretive and guarded a lot of the time, always looking out for some catch she assumes comes with everyone. And Felix is so open and straightforward, I think it might take her a minute to get used to that because, honestly, there just isn’t any catch. Once she lets herself trust that openness and believes in him and their relationship, I think she’d find it super freeing.
Another big thing I think would matter in their relationship is how unwavering Felix’s confidence in Holland is. In canon, there are so many threads throughout the books where lack of agency (ha) is/can be brought up, and where they focus on what the MC is or can be instead of who they truly are. That doesn’t bug some of my detectives, but it really gets under Holland’s skin in a way usually reserved for feelings about her mother. She’s not an object or a thing to be owned, she doesn’t belong to anyone, she’s not just a vessel or a tool or just human—or at least she doesn’t want to be.
But Felix has never, ever treated her like she's anything other than her own person. He doesn’t try to fix her, change her, or talk her out of what she wants to do, whether for her protection or whatever else. He just loves her, and genuinely believes she’s more than capable of handling whatever comes her way.
Also, you know the flirty banter between them would be top-tier.
"It's not funny."
"Who's laughing?"
"You are. You're smiling."
"Aww, babe. Can you blame me? You're cute when you're all ruffled."
Holland scowled. "I'm not—" They brushed past another knot of shoppers, her breath coming out in a puff in the cold, "—ruffled."
Felix laughed. It was a light sound, unburdened as ever as it tumbled over the murmur of the crowded Christmas market, and Holland felt it dance up the back of her neck. It pulled at something inside her: an odd flutter in her chest she didn't know what to do with.
"Okay, okay," he was saying, easy and amused. "Maybe 'ruffled' isn't the best word..."
"Not the best word?" she echoed. "Honestly, I'd venture to say it might not even crack the top hundred."
He laughed again, then, at that; his eyes were like a sunbeam splitting the clouds.
"Frazzled?"
She looked down, nudging a piece of gravel off the icy sidewalk with the toe of her boot. "That's even more flattering."
There was a shift in movement out of the corner of her eye, and when she looked up again, it was to find Felix had slowed his steps so that he was closer than before. Holland felt her mouth twitch.
"Adorable?"
He was beaming, his voice a conspiratorial whisper even as he slung an arm over her shoulders.
Holland gave a long sigh, like something loosened within her against her will. "You're missing the point."
"Nope," Felix said cheerily. "I see the point, babe. I just think you're looking at it from the wrong angle."
They were rounding the corner of the square, the number of holiday stalls beginning to thin out with each step. Most of the stores along the street were shuttered, all closed up for the night, and aside from the odd pedestrian hurrying through the cold or bundled-up family leaving the market on the opposite end of the square, the town was quiet. Everything was bathed in moonlight, a kind of sleepy, faded-blue tone that made the cobblestones, the frost-touched grass, and even the wrought iron fencing along the storefronts look oddly otherworldly, like they'd wandered into some sort of monochrome dream. There was something...peaceful about it all. Serene.
Holland moved closer to his side automatically, to feel the soft heat of him bleeding through the heavy layers of fabric, chasing away the night's chill. It was nice. Sometimes, she forgot she was cold at all until she remembered what it was to be warm.
Felix tipped his head towards hers. "There's an easy fix to this, you know?"
Her bootfalls were softer on the sidewalk than they would've been at any other time of day. It was always like this, being out at night—it was like the entire world got just a little bit quieter, a little bit calmer, even when she was smack in the middle of town. Like nothing had any edges anymore, and everything that seemed sharp during the day was dulled into something soft and soothing.
She tipped her head back, glancing up at him. "Enlighten me."
"You could just admit I was right."
Holland snorted. "You weren't right."
The flash of his grin in the darkness was wide and instantaneous.
"Oh, I was so right." He grinned down at her, eyebrows raised. "And deep, deep down—way, waaaaay down, maybe in a place that I could only find with the aid of advanced geological equipment—you know that."
"I think you might be overestimating how deep—"
He kissed the tip of her nose, just a chaste brush of warmth in the crispness of the night, as quick and fleeting as the glimmer of a falling star. "Nah," he breathed. His smile hadn't slipped. "I don't think I am."
Holland took in a slow, measured breath. That strange little flutter in her chest was back. Something about the bite of the frost-chapped evening, or the shadowy blue darkness falling in silky waves over the square, or the soft glow of the multicolored lights strung between the nearby trees seemed to just...throw things off-kilter somehow. Almost like they were wandering along the borders of reality, treading across some strange threshold she could barely even admit existed.
Or maybe it was just him that made it feel that way.
"You," she said, "have an incredibly high opinion of yourself." But she was already giving in, lifting her arms and sliding them beneath his open jacket to wrap around his waist. She pressed close, her nose skimming up the column of his throat, breathing deep. "But since this is obviously so important to you..."
A smile against her hair, the edges of it clear and vibrant even if the expression itself wasn't visible, like a landscape brightening under the rising sun.
"I appreciate that," he murmured. There was a curl of humor in his words, and another of something warm, a crackle of kindling on a distant, unseen fire, "Almost as much as I appreciate the chance to say 'I told you so' for the second time today—"
"Don't push your luck," she warned him, though the threat fell short even to her own ears. Her words were all fondness, a low murmur into his collar that made him tighten his arm over her shoulders. It felt nice to have that weight, something to lean into.
Felix just grinned, his eyes glittering in the moonlit darkness like bits of the sky had gotten stuck in them.
#my G O D this got so out of control long im so sorry 💀💀💀#anyway ngl i really was on the fence about if they'd work but the more i think about it the more i think F would be really good for Holland#(ofc i think F would be good for almost everyone tbh—they're like the vampire equivalent of a smiley face sticker + i adore them 🥰)#(also @ Mar I'm working on your other jumble ask now! <3)#oc: holland townsend#ship swaps#answered#katie writes things
