thatâs pretty - itoshi sae

sometimes sae feels like he doesnât know his girlfriend. like he just doesnât understand whatâs going on through her mind sometimes and that frustrates him sometimes. âthatâs pretty.â you say looking at a necklace in the window of a jewelry store, you two were currently walking around the mall shopping for some gifts for friends. âthen get it if itâs pretty.â sae responds looking at you like your an idiots for not going in and buying it.
ânahhh. i donât want it.â you respond curtly while window shopping at other stores and such. he gives you a confused look before rolling his eyes and following behind you. you run into a clothing store that had some merch and stuff in it, walking around you found a whole section dedicated to sae. âhahaha now this is would buy. itâs your U20 uniform.â ïżœïżœi literally have that at home y/n why would you waste your money on that knock off crap.â you sigh at his comment and hold up the jersey.
âsae itâs not about it being a knock off- itâs just about the feeling you know? if we werenât together and having the actual jersey at my disposal wasnât an option this would be like a dream. Itoshi Sae merchandise sells fast because youâre a hot commodity babe.â he just rolls his eyes at your comment scoffing and looking around the store. âyou like this?â he says holding up a silver soccer ball key chain. âitâs nice. you want it?â âno. you want it?â he responds holding it out for me. you give him a confused expression. âsae no- is shopping too much for you?â
he looks at you offended. âno itâs not! iâm just- iâm frustrated.â sighing you fold the jersey back up set it back down on the table. âcome on im hungry letâs go get some food.â you grab his hand interlocking your fingers together as you both walked to the food court. you get a box of pizza and find a seat in a secluded area. âsoâŠwhat are you frustrated about?â he doesnât respond and takes a bite out his pizza. âsae communication is key in every relationship.â you reach over pushing some of his hair out his face and gently hold his cheek.
âtalk to me whatâs wrong. is it something I did?â he set the pizza down and wiped his hand on a napkin before leaning back in his chair. he holds your hand no even looking at you. âi donât knowâŠi feel like our relationship meshes more when im busy you know? itâs like now that im in open season i donât understand you at all. i missed your birthday and life been trying to figure out what to get you as a gift for christmas but im stuck. this is so stupid.â you cover your mouth trying to stop yourself from laughing. âsae- seriously. you feel like we donât connect anymore? thatâs only because we were used to our schedule. and i told you not to worry about a christmas gift- Im just glad to actually have you here this year.â you respond gripping his hand. âdonât think that i need some gift to be happy. im happy where im at.â you say smiling softly at him.
~
âwhatâs this sae?â you ask holding a small gift wrapped box in your hand. it wasnât too small but it wasnât too big either so the only logical conclusion was that it was a ring. âdonât get any funny ideas idiot. just open it.â he says, this christmas we decided to do something simple which was christmas morning we spent with each other then in the evening we spend it with our respective families. we were sitting in bed wearing matching ugly pajamas with warm cups of hot cocoa on our bedside dressers. you slowly unwrapped the horrible wrapping paper the slowly opened the velvet box, it was a silver ring with a light pink flower on top. âitâs one of those fidgeting rings i saw online. i know you have problems with your anxiety and i remember you saying the other day you wanted to find a better habit than chewing on your nails.â he explained while pulling the ring out and placing it on your right ring finger. he then used his index finger to demonstrate how the flower spun once you barely pushed it. you smiled blushing at how thoughtful the gift was.
âsae- im going to cryâŠthis is literally the sweetest thing ever.â you said with tears in your eyes as you reached over wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him in for a kiss. he kissed back trying to hide the light dusted pink on his cheeks. he was proud of his gift through he didnât want to show it. âokay now open your giftâŠâ he grabs the box thatâs been sitting on his lap for the past ten minutes. he pulls off the wrapping tossing the trash off the side of the bed then opens the box. he held it up and it was a keychain, a silver soccer ball keychain. the same one from the mall a couple weeks ago, he looked a bit confused m.
âbefore you start complaining open itâŠâ you say holding onto his arm, your chin resting on his shoulder watching him open the locket. it was the very first picture you ever took together, especially when sae was still rocking those ugly diagonal bangs he loved. âoh god i look horribleâ he mumbles staring at the picture. you watch his thumb trace over the small image of your smile before looking at you. he lens down and kisses your cheek. âi love it. âs niceâ he say still staring at the picture while leaning into you. âim glad you like it. now stop pouting thinking you donât know me because this gift just proves home much you know about me and more.â
comments and reblogs are very appreciated my lovelies

Corrupt- Chapter Two: Seeds of Doubt

đ€ Pairing: Alastor x Nun!Reader
đ€ Smmary: In the depths of Hell, where redemption is a rare commodity, Alastor, the Radio Demon, encounters an unexpected challenge: a nun who has fallen from grace. Drawn by her purity and the potential for corruption, Alastor sets out to twist her faith and make her his own. However, as he delves deeper into her world, he finds himself entangled in emotions he never anticipated. Can she keep her faith, or will the Radio Demon corrupt her? đ€ Warnings: 18+, MDNI, religion, smut, nun reader, masturbation, voyeurism, corruption kink, Alastor is a little shit, graphic sexual scenes, nightmares, Sexual manipulation, Hallucinations, Hell. I think that's everything
đ€ A/N: Chapter two, sorry it took so long everyone. Not very long, not proofread, possible spelling errors
Sister (y/n) sat across from Alastor, her heart still racing from their initial encounter. The Radio Demonâs presence was overwhelming, his aura of confidence and power almost suffocating. Yet, she held her ground, determined not to let him see her fear.
Alastor leaned back in his conjured chair, his eyes never leaving her. âTell me, Sister (y/n) what brings a devout nun like yourself to the depths of Hell?â His tone was casual, almost conversational, but there was an underlying edge to his words.
She took a deep breath, steadying herself. âI donât know,â she admitted, her voice soft but steady. âI lived my life in service to others, in devotion to my faith. I never imagined I would end up here.â
Alastorâs grin widened. âAh, the irony of it all. A life of piety, rewarded with eternal damnation. It seems the universe has a twisted sense of humor.â
She frowned, her grip on her rosary tightening. âI refuse to believe that this is my final destination. There must be a reason, a purpose for my being here.â
âPurpose, you say?â Alastorâs eyes gleamed with interest. âAnd what purpose do you think you could possibly serve in a place like this?â
She met his gaze, her resolve hardening. âPerhaps I am here to bring light to the darkness, to offer hope to those who have none.â
Alastor chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that sent chills down her spine. âHope? In Hell? My dear, you are more naive than I thought.â He leaned forward, his eyes boring into hers. âBut tell me, Sister (y/n), do you truly believe that your faith can withstand the horrors of this place?â
She hesitated, the seeds of doubt beginning to take root. âI⊠I must believe. It is all I have.â
âBelief is a fragile thing,â Alastor said softly, almost sympathetically. âIt can be shattered with the slightest touch.â He reached out, his fingers brushing against her rosary. âAnd once it is broken, what will you have left?â
(Y/n) pulled back, clutching her rosary to her chest. âI will not let you corrupt me, Alastor. My faith is stronger than you think.â
âWe shall see,â he murmured, his grin never faltering. âWe shall see.â
You were startled away by the dream. A dream that felt more like a vision. It was as if you were there with him. You can feel the sensation of him touching your rosary and your breath shudders.
You lay in bed for a few minutes before you have to get up when the memory of what you did the night prior floods your mind. You Flush at the memory as embarrassment takes over. You cover your face with Your hands. âWhy did I do that?â The overwhelming feeling to go to confession plagued your mind. Oh, just how could you confess the sins of the flesh to Father Paul? What would he think of you? To know one of his nuns has committed such monstrosities and when you were meant to be in silent prayer as well.
You rise from your bed and do your morning routine, get dressed, and begin Your prayers. As you kneel and fold your hands while closing your eyes you hear the slight murmur of static, though faint you still hear.
You push out a breath, readjusting your passion, and reclose Your eyes. You start the prayers when the radio kicks on. You huff, getting up and turning it off. You kneel once more and resume your prayer.
Once again the radio turns on, louder this time. You get up, turn it off, and resume your prayer. This happens Several more times, each sooner than the last. Each time the radio turned back on the station changed. After about the fifth time it only played static.
You're almost done with your prayer, uninterrupted this time when the radio starts once more. Loud static fills the room. You get up once again and walk over to the radio, flipping it off. You turn around and it kicks back on again. You huff but turn it back off turning back around to restart the prayer for the nth time this morning. The radio turns back on.
You go back and forth turning off and turning around three more times. You're halfway across your room when it turns back on again. You groan Walking back over. The static is loud and you are surprised no one has complained. You go To turn it off and the radio is already off. You look around confused, even unplugging the radio thinking it will make the noise stop. The static continues.
You look around the room thinking maybe it's something else making The noise when you find nothing you decide to just ignore it and finish your prayer. You kneel and begin.
âO Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians. â
You finish with A proud sigh, you stand and dust off your habit when you hear it. The room fills the loud rumbling of a static laced laugh. Shadows dance along your wall with malicious faces as the lights flicker. You swear the temperature dropped, you can see your breath and you're shaking from the sudden cold.
In a mocking tone you hear the prayer repeated to you then followed by laughter. You grip your head huddling over. âLeave me alone!â You scream as you start reciting another prayer. The voice just repeats you word for word, voice laced With amusement. You're on the brink of tears when everything stops.
A knock at your door pulls you back to reality. âsisters (y/n), are you okay?â
You let out a sigh it's Sister Rose. She is like a grandmother to you. Knowing she is there brings you comfort. You open the door, telling her everything is fine.
You follow her to the kitchen and begin Your chores.
The faint buzz of static still lingers in the air, and every once in a while a radio would turn on unexpectedly, other than that you had a very normal day. Besides the shadow following you around.
you would see it linger on the walls across from you. Scrutinizing you.
It would laugh, make facing and explicit gestures when it thought you weren't paying enough attention to it.
You walk through the halls, dinner is soon. The shadow follows you, you can feel its presence and the air has a slight static buzz feeling to it. You are alone. Or at least you think you are.
âsisterâ
You hear a static filled voice whisper.
You ignore it continuing down the hall. You can't be late. People will ask questions.
âSisâterâ it repeats
You blow a sigh out your nose quickening your pace. You pass a room that's door is open and you hear the radio click on. It's playing old time jazz.
â(y/n)â it says, this time a static demonic voice through the radio while jazz plays around it.
You stop at the door and stare into the room. It's empty, dark. You know it's someone's bedroom but the sister who's room this is escapes you.
You jump, squealing when the voice says your name again but this time from behind you right in your ear.
You turn around quickly finding no one there but you see the shadows dancing on the wall mocking you.
You move again quicker this time. You swear the lights are flickering but you hope it's your imagination.
A sigh of relief escapes you when you enter the kitchen.
Night greets you once again.
You are Just walking out of the shower A towel wrapped around you and nothing else. Water still clings to your skin.
You gasp almost dropping the towel seeing Alastor sitting on the bed in front of you. Well not Alastor his shadow is.
It's smirking at you then Dispears in a burst of smoke.
sleep is hard to find tonight. You toss and turn all night until your dreams find you once more.
âOh sister (y/n) a pleasure Once moreâ
You hear the familiar voice before you see him.
Alastor stands in front of you. He's shirtless smirking at you.
âCame back for round two my dear?â
âYou will not tempt me Alastorâ
He cackles And with a snap of his finger you're undressed on a bed.
You wear nothing but a lacy thong and bra. You gasp embarrassed. No one has ever seen you in such a thing. If the other sisters knew.
You feel the familiar heat in your cunt and you whine rubbing your thighs Together. Alastor starts telling You what to do and you don't know what's come over you but you listen.
Your laid out on the bed legs Spread touching yourself to his instructions. You whine his name begging him to touch you.
âNow now, Sister. Where is your control?"
You whine just wanting release when he slaps your leg with his cane telling you not to be such a baby.
Next thing you know you're jolting away, sweat clinging to your skin and you pant feeling how wet you are. Your hand slips down into your panties
âLord forgive meâ you whisper before touching yourself.
Your fingers collect your slick before rubbing Your clit then finding your entrance. You finger fuck yourself As you think about alastor. No man has ever made you want the sin of the flesh before. You never imagined a demon would be your undoing.
You whine his name as quietly as you can feeling yourself reaching your peak.
You finish back arching off the bed and moaning his name like it's a prayer.
Minutes pass and you lay there catching your breath before pulling out your Bible and reciting scripture.
âforgive me my lordâ

Not all disabled people can take public transport!
Access to a car is absolutely necessary for some people. One of the reasons (out of many) for this is how much extra stuff some disabled people have to carry when travelling.
Iâm one of those people and this is how much I have to bring for just 3 nights away (not including my carerâs stuff):

(ID: A photo of a pile of bags and equipment in front of a hotel door including a large tall box for a hoist, a tilt in space commode/shower chair and a pillow lifter. In total the pile is half the height of the door and extends over a meter from the door. /end ID)
So thatâs two large bag for lifeâs, a large rucksack, one gym bag, a smaller tote bag, my hoist (folded down in the big black box thatâs as tall as I am â and thatâs one of the smallest and lightest you can get), my pillow raiser, my tilt in space shower chair/commode (which canât be folded down) my big pregnancy pillow, and a few extra bits and pieces that didnât fit in the bags.
Taking all this stuff on a train would be ridiculous, let alone a bus! It took 3 able bodied adults 2 and a half trips to get it all from the van to the hotel room â it would take forever to get it all across the station and onto the train (and where would it all go when weâre on the train?).
Improving public transport is essential and good, just remember that some people will always need cars.

May I request #18 with Edward from Twilight? Please and thank you!
Absolutely, Okay so this is an x reader...Maybe Vamphunter!reader? So Bella isn't here. Either pre canon or AU. Up to you! Also, I took some liberties on the prompt lol.
Prompt 18: Lost in the woods, you're tired, thirsty and desperate when you stumble across a strange cabin.
CW: Observing?
Some time ago all the trees began to look the same. Some had orange and green leaves and others had green and orange leaves.
The knots had begun to look like eyes, watching you wander endlessly in circles. If they could speak would they laugh?
It was just like the forest to do something like that. When you listen closely you could almost hear it. A twinging laughter for the one that is always lost.
Except. you could hear it. Or hear... something.
You stumbled forward following the tinkling sound. Your steps soften to better listen, but the crunch of leaves beneath your boots echos around the forest.
A moment the breeze stops and you lose the sound but soon it is found again. The melody brings you to a windchime made of old spoons. the rain gutter from which it hangs from sags off the side of a dilapidated cabin.
Excitement exhausts the last of your hydration. Hours earlies your lips had taken on a sticky feeling but even that has left you. There was a single gulp of water left in your bottle and it was reserved for deaths door.
And here it was. The door was weathered wood, potentially built from something grown here in this forest. It looked like it might have been painted once but the hue of it decayed with the rest of the structure.
Dirt caked on the windows making inside impossible to decipher.
Your gloved hand knocks, twinging your tired muscles.
There was a shuffle, a few seconds of silence then slowly the door began to open.
It only cracks as far as to see half the face of its occupant. He looks at you wearily. "Can I help you?"
The air in your mouth sticks the word to your cheeks. Oh to be found.
"Do you have water?" you ask.
His brow knits. "No, sorry."
You look around tiredly. "Okay, do you have a phone I can borrow?"
He peers up at the burning sky. Light was a commodity minutes to diminishing. Soon the sky would wash itself of the day and night would prepare the hours.
He looks around. "Are you alone?"
Your lips pinch shut while you look for a safe thing to say. "uh-"
"Come in out of the dark." The words were not inherently welcoming. More annoyed than anything.
The exterior was generous with its interior perimeter. Somehow the lack of furniture made it feel smaller. Like a box made for animals.
Nothing but a singular chair, writing table, and a plethora of books kept the walls company.
Nothing of note. Mostly fiction and all of a similar sorrowful genre.
There was no food, no water, no electricity. Candles lining the two windows keeping the shadows from swallowing us whole.
"Cozy," you say.
He offers you the singular chair lowering himself onto the floor. "I don't often have guests."
You can't help but nod. "So what are you doing out here, in the middle of nowhere?"
He was gangly. Limbs folding over one another like sticks angling in odd directions. Despite this he was beautiful. The kind that would have sent sailors overboard, but in the most inhumane way it could be said. Or thought.
There was an imperfection that kissed humans. we were etched with trials and victories but mostly folly.
His skin was wiped of everything that could be traced with an intimate finger or fussed over. He was ethereal.
He regard of you was delt with a sense of healthy suspicion, but he saw no threat in you. It was true that your lack of direction brought you to him, but the question still remained.
Who found who?
"we're hardly in the middle of nowhere," He says, "The town in two miles east."
You slowly blink at him. "Thant can't be true."
He nods. "Just outside of Honeyville. Why are you here in the "Middle of nowhere?""
There was no answer that you could give that wouldn't warrant a good, thorough teasing. You sift though excuses in your mind.
Hiking trip gone mostly wrong, cryptid hunting, mushroom foraging-
He stares at you, smile growing and fading with each passing second.
Almost as if her can read-
"Got lost on a stroll."
He hums. "A stroll? Not cryptid hunting?"
Your brow lifts and you tilt your head. "Why, know of any in need or hunting? I'm more of an observing type myself."
He leaned forward his fingers lacing together in his lap like tree branches "Are you observing me?"
You straightened your spine. "Maybe I am."
"And what have you discovered?"
There were as many paths before you as there were trees just outside the front door. Lies, truths, half-truths, white lies, distraction, misdirect-
"you've lost your way," you say finally, "Found yourself separated from the pack. If I had to guess, I'd say, self-punishment?"
His eyes are focused souly on you when you look up. There was a glint of amusement, but more than that, there was unadulterated curiosity. "You are observant."
The tips of your lips turn up as you take the full water bottle from your pack. "So I've been told."
He leans back in his chair imitating a sigh. "So, do I get to know who sent you?"
The water stings coating your throat all the way down your chest. Getting lost really was the bane of your existence. "Does it matter?"
He shrugs. "I suppose not, though I am interested in how you found me."
"There was no need. It's a skill of mine. Get lost, something will get found."
"So what now?" He stands stepping closer until your knees knock against his calves. "Do we fight to the death?"
You sigh a heavy thing. "Didn't you hear me? I'm not really a fighter, besides I'm exhausted and-" you take three button mushrooms from your pack. "I'm starving."

Southernisms:
Dumb as a bag full of hammers.
Meaner than a skillet full of rattlesnakes.
I won't say it's far, but I had to grease the wagon twice before I hit the main road.
If a trip around the world cost a dollar, I couldn't get to the state line.
He looks like he was inside the outhouse when lightening struck.
She looks like she was born down wind from the outhouse.
Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day.
Never smack a man who's chewin' tobacco.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket.
Scared as a sinner in a cyclone.
Scared as a cat at the dog pound.
She's so ugly she'd make a freight train take a dirt road.
He's so ugly his cooties have to close their eyes.
So ugly his mama takes him everywhere she goes so she doesn't have to kiss him goodbye.
She looks like she fell face-down in the sticker patch and cows ran over her.
He looks like the dogs have been keepin' him under the porch.
He's about as sharp as a mashed potato.
So dusty the rabbits are digging holes six feet in the air.
It'll last about as long as a fart in a whirlwind.
He's rough as a corn cob.
He's got enough money to burn a wet mule.
He's about as sharp as a bag full of wet mice.
It's as dry as the dust in a mummy's pocket.
It's about as scarce as bird crap in a cuckoo clock.
He's as tight as the pages in a book.
This race is as tight as the rusted lug nuts on a '55 Ford.
Itâs hot enough to peel house paint.
Running like a squirrel in a cage.
Safe as a tick on a dog with a stiff neck.
He couldn't pour rain out of a boot with a hole in the toe and directions on the heel.
If dumb was dirt, he'd cover about half an acre.
So windy we're using a log chain instead of a wind sock.
Tighter than bark on a tree.
As welcome as an outhouse breeze.
Her hair looks like a cats been suckin' on it.
We were so poor my brother and me had to ride double on our stick horse.
As bad-off as a rubber-nosed woodpecker in a petrified forest.
As confused as a cow on astroturf.
It was so hot you could pull a baked potato right out of the ground.
It's so dry the trees are whistling for the dogs.
Busier than a cat covering crap on a marble floor.
If things get any better around here, I may have to hire someone to help me enjoy it.
Well knock me down and steal muh teeth!
Cute as a box full of puppies.
You can't get rid of 'em. He's like a booger you can't thump off.
It's about as hard as trying to steer a herd of cats.
The wheels still turning, but the hamster's dead.
He's so confused he doesn't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his ass.
She was as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
So crooked you can't tell from his tracks if he's coming or going.
I wouldn't trust him any farther than I can throw him.
He's got more guts than you could hang on a fence.
So dry the catfish are carrying canteens.
So dry I'm spitting cotton.
So hot the hens are laying hard-boiled eggs.
Cold as a frosted frog.
Cold as an ex-wife's heart.
Cold as a cast iron commode.
Cold as a banker's heart.
She's about as useful as buttons on a dishrag.
He's tougher than a two-dollar steak.
Happy as a puppy with two tails.
Sheâs got enough wrinkles to hold an eight-day rain.
Thatâs about as useful as a trap door on a canoe!
Heâs busier than a one-legged man at a butt-kickin contest!
Heâs so dumb he couldnât piss his name in the snow.
That politicianâs so crooked he could hide behind a cork screw!
That baby was so ugly the Doctor spanked the Momma!
Sheâs so ugly sheâs got ten-foot pole marks all over her.
Itâs raininâ so hard it sounds like a cow pissing on a flat rock.
Heâs so bad off, his eyes looked like two piss-holes in a snowbank.
Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit!
Her hair looks like it caught on fire and somebody put it out with a brick.
He couldnât find his rear with his hands in his back pockets.
Itâs raining so hard the animals are starting to pair up.
His pants were so tight that if he farted, heâd blow his boots off.
Raising kids is like being pecked to death by a chicken.
Heâs so skinny, his pants had only one back pocket.
He was mean enough to hunt bears with a hickory switch.
He was ugly as a burnt boot.
Tougher than the back end of a shootin' gallery.
...Thank You, Dear Lord, for blessing me with being a Southerner.

I've Killed a Million Petty Souls, but I Couldn't Kill You
Chapter 10
AO3 link ~ https://archiveofourown.org/works/44541196/chapters/112035802
Once again, a big shout out to @justanothersadperson93 for the beta reading! You're a real one!
The waiting area was small and far too brightly lit for what was necessary. Kallus sat uncomfortably in one of the generic plastic chairs typical of office settings, alone with only his thoughts as he waited with an impatience that grew exponentially with every passing second. There were better things to do with his time than some yearly Imperial mandated physical that was completely useless, at least outwardly.
A personâs physical ailments were almost always overlooked irrespective of what they were; a body was a body to the Empire, regardless of what shape it was in. There were always plenty of menial job positions that needed filling. Mostly because the Empire plowed through stormtroopers like they were a never ending commodity.
Those with severe mental illness were almost encouraged to join both the Imperial navy and, specifically, ISB. It made no sense while also making perfect sense. They were easier to manipulate, especially when medication was involved.
Aliens were barred despite ability or promise. Not specifically on paper, but absolutely in practice.
It was one of the things the rebels did effectively right.
âAgent 021,â a woman barked out into the silent room for no reason other than the fact that she could.
It was impossible to stifle his exacerbated sigh as he stood and made his way to the door where the woman waited for him disgruntled. Apparently he wasnât the only one that didnât want to be there.
âState your name,â she said almost robotically as she led him down a long hallway.
âAlexsandr Kallus.â
She looked at the chart and then at him, âspell your first name.â
When she realized that it wasnât a misspelling he heard her scoff, âokay, then, pretentious.â
Another sigh and Kallus was led into a dark, empty, interrogation like room, I hate this part, he thought as he waited for the unnecessary embarrassment that he swore was just a mental torture tactic to help weed out âthe weakâ.
âState your name,â another voice ordered before he complied. âDesignation number?â
â021â he almost snapped at the modulated voice behind the two way mirror. Annoyance was beginning to become an understatement and they hadnât even started the worst part.
A door to his side whirred open and Kallus closed his eyes as he looked up at the ceiling and shook his head.
Seriously?
A girl, barely twenty he would guess, came into the room with a cart that carried a small monitor and mess of cords just in front of an older man with a clipboard.Â
âIâll need you to undress,â she told him shakily. âCompletely.â
Kallus complied and he could feel the girlâs nervousness and discomfort radiate from where she stood well behind him. It was done purposefully. Every year âpatientsâ were prepped by the opposite sex. Every year they stayed the same age as said patient grew older. It was humiliating by design.Â
Another reaction for their records.
With his clothes in a neatly folded pile beside, him the medical âprofessionalâ hidden safely behind the mirror ordered again, arms out to your sides. Kallus complied and a red laser scanned him slowly and completely from head to toe.
âTurn around.â
The same happened behind him.
Full biometric scan.
If he were to fully defect, he would be barred from any mission that required him in person. There would be no hiding from the Empire. Ever. They made sure of it.
âTurn to face the mirror,â the voice barked as the girl anxiously wheeled the cart up to him and fumbled with a small bag of leads.Â
âHave you done this before,â he asked.
âNo,â she whispered shakily.
âTake a breath,â he told her quietly enough to not be heard without looking down at her. âTheyâre watching you too.â
The package in her hand crumpled but he heard her do as suggested before her trembling fingers finally pushed a small sticker onto his skin just below his left rib cage.Â
It took her a long while, but once she had him hooked up to the monitor she almost ran from the room.Â
Poor girl.
The old man that had stayed hidden in a far corner took his cue as she left and made a slow, almost predatory circle around him as he scribbled down his information. âLift your arms,â he ordered as he examined Kallusâ crotch far too long for it to be deemed âethicalâ to say the least.Â
A battery of questions about how he had been feeling physically came from behind the mirror as the old man circled him again.
Disgusted he wanted to yell at them but an outburst would only get him more time with the psychiatrist that would humiliate him next.Â
They wanted controllable machines and thatâs what he had always given them.
âFinished,â the voice told the old man before he set his clipboard down and began to unhook the leads from his cold skin. The old man again took enough time for Kallus to realize his lack of âpromptnessâ probably wasnât a part of the process and a wave of revulsion washed over him.
If you hit him, it will probably kill the old pervert, he thought to himself as he fought the urge to not end up in the brig for violence that would, again, only get him more time with the next doctor. Not worth the paperwork.
Kallus was beyond mortified, which was their intent. It was literally unnecessary, to anyone with a modicum of a conscience at the very least, and made him wonder what would happen to a civilian under arrest, or even just mere suspicion. If they would do it to himâŠ
The old man sighed, âI guess you can get dressed now,â he told Kallus as he looked him up and down one last time before he begrudgingly turned and pushed the cart out of the room.Â
Kallus used his hands to cover himself until he knew he was gone.
An obvious mistake, but he didnât care.
The rebels would never, he wondered, but ultimately knew.
The memory of a nervous woman trapped on a fancy yacht, one that was intimidated by a hostile man with the same intentions, suddenly played through his mind.
You're not any better.
~
A few minutes later, Kallus was dressed and lying on an uncomfortable couch type piece of furniture that was far too short to accommodate his height as he waited for what would somehow be far more uncomfortable than his âphysicalâ.
The lying position was meant to make the patient feel secure and; thus, in practice, make them open up more. At least that was what they were told because âvulnerableâ wasnât remotely close to how he actually felt. If âcalmingâ really was what they were going for then they had failed spectacularly.
Intended comfort wasnât what he was feeling. Scenario after scenario ran rampant through his field combat trained mind; he sat up.
âLie down,â the middle aged woman that walked in and sat down silently in front of him snapped. It was unlikely that she would cause a physical altercation with him, at least he didnât think, but she wouldnât, however, tell him to lay back down again as a second warning; lest he want said altercation.
There were few things that Imperial medical staffers loved more than restraining subjectively combative patients.
âDesignation number?â she asked without looking up from the device in her hands as he slowly slumped back to lying with a glare.
â021.â
Without an introduction of her own she asked, âare you having any symptoms of depression?â
Only all of the time.
âNo.â
âAnxiety? Panic attacks?â she asked apathetically.
You have no idea.
âNo,â he answered acerbically.Â
âFeelings of hurting yourself or others?â She ignored his tone.
Youâre pushing that already.
âNo.â
What felt like an hour, but was actually ten minutes according to the clock above her, came a question he had never been asked in a session before.
âTell me about your parents.â
Why?
He knew that she noticed his reaction because she began to type furiously on her datapad.
âWhy? That has never come up prior,â he told her with more nervousness than he intended.
Fuck.
She huffed loudly as if she was tired of being asked the same question by every other patient, ânew protocol. Answer the question.â
âWhat exactly do you want to know,â he asked as he tried desperately to use every bit of his training to keep his growing dread in check. It was barely working and he was afraid that he would quickly lose control.
The woman was silent for a moment, âwhat do you think I should know?â
âIâve got nothing to tell, it was a quiet, normal childhood,â he lied.Â
A deafening silence roared through the room and he knew that she could wait him out.Â
He joked about transferring Rhoan to interrogations, but this woman could probably break the best of them, without really trying.
Itâs probably where she came from, he realized before he sighed and resigned himself to where the session was going to go. Regardless of how hard he tried.
Another mark on your file.
âStart with your father,â she told him when she knew that she had bested him.
âHe was a dick,â Kallus snapped before he could stop himself. âI mean,â he cleared his throat quietly, âhe couldâve been a little better to people.â
The doctor ignored the recovery statement, âI see here that he was also military, looks like⊠highly ranked in the navy. Is he why you joined?â
Didnât give me a damn choice. Kallus was more than sure the man wouldâve hunted him down for sport had he tried to run away from him. Very healthy relationship.
âYes.â
âWillfully?â she prodded.Â
Kallus scoffed unintentionally and the woman pounced.
âTell me why you joined the military,â she asked and he knew it was a baited question.
âAt first, no, I hadnât planned on a military career. But once I was put into military school, it was the only op-,â he started, âdirection, I could go in.â
âOption?â she redirected.
Fuck.
âAre they not synonymous?â he asked carefully.
Her eyes narrowed; she knew which battles to pick. She was good.
âI suppose.â More typing. âWhat about your mother?â she went on.
Kallus suddenly went numb. It was the only thing he could bare to feel when he was forced to go to the place where he kept her hidden from daily cognition. It was meant to be a simple defense mechanism, but it was far more effective than it shouldâve been.
Silence.Â
âWell?â the doctor asked with cruel disregard.Â
Oh, I donât know? I survived, she didnât and my horrid father blamed me every chance he got until he died himself.
âI didnât know her. She died in childbirth.â
âAnd how does that make you feel?â she asked as she scrolled through what he knew were notes that she had already read.
It had always pained him that he never got the chance to meet her. His father refused to bring her up, ever, and her side of the family wasnât allowed anywhere near him. Years later he found out that an aunt had petitioned the court for custody on the grounds of mistreatment but had been denied.
That tended to happen when a person fought someone with the type of connections he had. Connections were the only thing that could stop their money.
âI see,â she mumbled to herself. âThen who raised you?â
The only person that has ever actually loved me.
âI had a governess until I was four. Then another until I went to boarding school,â he told her as simply as he could, knowing that she was treading into memories that he had spent his entire life repressing and for good reason.
âAnd you got along with them well?â she asked as she looked right at him.
âYes, both,â he lied. It was really only the first one.Â
âYou deserve to be loved,â her voice screamed at him for the first time in years.
Fresh pain tore through him as the vision of her being dragged away suddenly haunted his mind once more.
âWhat happened to the first one?â she asked casually as his temper began to flare up at her even more.
âShe was fired,â he warned.
His father let him spend his formative years believing that it was his fault. Had I not taken her cookies, she never wouldâve chased me.
His agitation went purposefully ignored, âwhy?â
We were just playing.
âI donât remember, I was too young, I assume,â he lied again.
âGet out! Iâll be damned if that boy is coddled!â he heard his father shout.
The therapist typed for a suspiciously long time. âIt says here that you were delayed in speech until four. Do you know why?â
I was terrified of him.
âAgain, I donât know.â
The doctor looked him up and down and conceded, âI see.â
You see my fist across your face?
âSo, your father was military, probably gone more than he was there, your mother died before you could form a relationship, and you were raised by strangers. Is this all correct?â
Fuck. You.
âYes,â Kallus agreed as simply as he could manage. The discomfort caused by the man from the previous testing was becoming a far more pleasant encounter the further she went into his past.
âAnd now?â she asked.
âWhat about now?â he replied suspiciously.
âYou know exactly what I mean,â she warned with a hint of irritation.
âI donât have time to dwell on the past.â
The doctor scrolled more.
âDo you have any close acquaintances? Friends, so to say. Within the Empire or personally?â
Kallus had to look at the ceiling and dig his nails into the leather of the sofa to keep himself from literally killing her.
Jovan.
His first real friend in the academy, the one he betrayed because of the blind allegiance that he had let the Empire program into him. Terrified was an understatement when he thought about what might have happened to the man for doing exactly what the Empire was doing, just off the books.
I donât deserve friends.
âI keep mostly to myself. Donât really have time for a personal life with my position. It only gets in the way.â
The therapist didnât move.
He dared not even think of her.
Pushing him away saved Rhoanâs life.
âThe Empire comes first. Relationships hinder my full attention from completing my objective of keeping order,â he added hoping that it was enough to sway her.
It obviously was not.
âI donât have time to dwell on unnecessary things,â he added cautiously.
âIâll make some then. Tell me about Onderon,â she asked him with an ease that disgusted him and a disregard that infuriated him.
âI know the report is in there and that you read it,â he growled.
If she can somehow drag it out of me, Iâm finished.
âYes, I did. But I need to know how it has affected you in your own words, being in a combat role and all,â she informed him sardonically over the rim of her glasses.
âThat was a long time ago,â he almost whispered as an old tightness in his chest that he was far too familiar with began to spread.
âYes, but you watched every one of your men be killed while you were incapacitated,â she reminded him against his will.
The sound of an explosion suddenly erupted in his ears.
âI need to know how that affected you,â she asked knowingly picking fresh one of myriad scabs that pockmarked his memory.
âHelp! Someone stop him! Please!â voices shouted through the pounding of his heart in his ears.
âHow do you think it did, exactly? I doubt youâve ever seen combat,â he snarled through gritted teeth. âYou would never understand.â
âMake me,â she instructed without looking up at him.
One of his hands unconsciously tightened into a fist that he couldnât relax and so he was forced to quickly move his other hand to conspicuously to cover it from her view.
âThere was an explosion-,â
âStart before that. What were you doing before it happened?â she pushed with a complete disregard for the fact that he obviously didnât want to relive the worst day of his life, especially with a stranger that didnât give a damn about his mental well being even though it was her literal job to do so.
Kallus had to use every tactic he had ever learned to steady himself. His childhood was bad enough, but thisâŠ
âWe went on patrol first thing in the morning-â
âFirst thing?â She cut him off. âYou did absolutely nothing before? Just got up and went?â
It was the biggest regret of his life up to that point.
We skipped chow. They were hungry and preoccupied.
âYes. There was a scout report. We had to go out immediately,â Kallus informed her matter of factly.
âAnyone got a ration bar? Iâm starving!â a voice called out loudly, giving away their position.
âI understand,â she said without emotion.
I swear on the stars, he seethed through barely controlled breath.
She knew, âand you blame yourself?â
âObviously,â he snapped before he could stop himself. âI watched them die, completely incapacitated and defenseless because of it, one by one because they were tired, hungry, and miserable.âÂ
They didnât stand a chance, he thought as he saw his own huddled body as it sat catatonically in the airlock of a ship he had flown out into random space.
Alone and with intent.
He couldnât stop himself; she had finally crossed his line. He knew better, but proceeded regardless.
âWe had been stuck in that fucking jungle with zero reinforcement or supply drops for days,â he snarled as he shot up. âThere was a reason that the citizenry stayed behind those damn walls!â
Alexsandr Kallus suddenly realized that Bahryn wasnât an isolated event.
âThat was years ago. I donât see the relevance today,â he told her with restraint.
She was either oblivious too, or simply just didnât care that she was forcing him toward a traumatic response, or it was her intention. âIt was your very first mission. That obviously had to have an impact on further assignments.âÂ
No shit. It still does.
âI did the mandated therapy. Itâs fine now.â
Why me?
There were twenty other men in his platoon. The one that he was in charge of. The one he was supposed to bring back to camp unharmed.Â
But he didnât.
If he ever expected anyone to die, it was him, and it was why he considered desertion for almost a year afterward. The next assignment he was given, far too soon, gave him panic attacks daily. They were going to die too; he knew it was just a matter of time before he got them killed as well,
unless he kept everything in complete order. As long as he could control the situation nothing could go wrong. At least thatâs how he learned to cope with it.
The doctor set the datapad in her lap and leaned toward him. âYou compartmentalize well, agent. All of these events have their own perfect little segment of your memory. A short term means at self preservation that has gone on for too long.â
âAnd how do you know that exactly,â he seethed, ready to fight physically regardless that she was a woman and smaller than he.
âAnyone else wouldâve broken long ago.â

sleep meme.
type of bed. large, bordering on king sized. each monarch is given an expansive room and a bed to match, and Midnaâs is no different. the bed itself is low and affixed to the floor, but has a lip so that the bedding doesnât slip away. there is a round half obelisk jutting up from the middle of said lip at the head. the the top corners have columns that rise towards the ceiling and hold a separate piece of material that allows several sheer pieces of drapery to flow over. all metallic and stone surfaces are adorned with insignias and carvings that range from echoing sacred beasts of the past to mere decoration, along with soft pulsing lines of teal that are commonly seen throughout the realmâs architecture. the bedding is a monochrome array of soft blacks, silvers and reds, not unlike the cloth Midna wears around her waist when out and about.
number of blankets. several, though they range in shape and size. cloth is a difficult material to produce in the twilight realm, even if their ruler has the pick of the pile. sheâs kept several small circular blankets from her childhood, two of which will adorn her bed or lounging areas should she use them as a cover to and from her bed. theyâre all faded because of age, and torn in places given how much theyâve been used, but Midna keeps them regardless, and if theyâve been taken to be washed or placed somewhere else by someone they are usually folded and waiting for her to use from where she left them before. typically she sleeps with two large sheets that are on the bed, and then will throw smaller ones off or on throughout her slumber.
number of pillows. thereâs one long pillow that spans the width of the bed at the top and then several others that Midna will use to rest her head on or cocoon around during sleep. at most she can have up to five; two by her head, two on either side, and the one at top. though since returning to the realm Midna has found she will pick up blankets or other pillows of all sorts of shapes and sizes to further nestle herself against. she has grown accustomed to sleeping alongside or with someone else since her travels in the light realm, and has requested for pillows made in unusual colors in twili terms for her bed now; namely shades of greens, pinks and blues. on truly lonesome nights, she will give into a guilty pleasure of shaping the shadows into the form of a familiar canine, and use that as a pillow to sleep against or cuddle with.
type of clothing. as stated before, cloth of any kind is a difficult commodity to come by in the twilight realm, so clothing is typically kept loose and flowing as to make sure it can be adjusted and worn throughout the years as their wearers grow older. though there are many that have come to find wearing clothing made of cloth is just simply not for them, or too expensive, and instead are able to manipulate shadow to cover their forms as they please. Midna does both of these, though if needed to be seen in an official capacity will wear more elaborate pieces of clothing made from cloth and metal. at her most casual she will simply wear a large cloak that can be fitted comfortably around her shoulders and arms, while at other points a single fabric around her waist will do. she almost always has some form of jewelry around her ankle or forehead.
does it matter where they sleep? sometimes. after her return to the twili realm she has found sleeping outside to be more pleasant, but a good deal of the time she will prefer somewhere she can curl up or lounge comfortably. large windowsills and chairs are her typical spots, especially if she can curl up with a blanket or pillow.
what do they do if they cannot fall asleep? she used to enjoy sneaking out as a child, and still does to some extent, but Zantâs uprising has caused her to become more cautious, and her guards more wary at that. so if she canât move around much sheâll do things around her room, such as trying to practice teleportation magicks or attempt to read up on other realms, but more often than not the words wonât stick and she goes back to pacing. if she can get out for some fresh air, Midna likes to wander, watch others if they are out about, and haunt around the castle. she also might try one of her usual nap spots too to see if theyâre more comfortable than her bed.
frequent dreams, nightmares. her dreams in the light realm typically revolved around Zant -- either in some shape or form exacting her revenge or, in weaker moments, replaying her banishment. later on she found that if her dreams slipped towards nightmares, they would end prematurely or be eased into a soft light. she attributes these moments of peace to her union with Zelda, as no such warmth or kindness has been bestowed to her in slumber before or since. nowadays her dreams involve passing landscapes, of grass underfoot and riding off into the distance on the back of a beast. of towers and skies foreign to the twili realm and the sound of a crackling fire. memories she wishes to hold closer in waking hours, but finds she can only recall them at their best when asleep. nightmares come in the form of her precious ones fading, cracking like a mirror beneath fingertips right before she reaches them, red clouds and deep shadows that lurk in the corners of her hallways.
deep slumber or naps? so. many. NAPS. she isnât particularly picky as to where she naps either, so seeing Midna catch a quick rest somewhere isnât that unusual. she doesnât enjoy having people come across her during these catnaps however, and will try to find places out of the way or in less traveled areas to curl up for slumber. if she finds that her attendants have gotten wise to a certain spot she uses to nap, the monarch will try and find another space to catch a quick snooze in soon after.
when do they sleep? whenever and wherever, especially given how little the light changes in the twili realm. there is little difference in terms of day and night in said realm, save for some temperature change and the clouds growing denser. when Midna was younger she had a tight schedule to keep while learning and training with tutors and such, and while being the queen does have itâs many responsibilities that need to be maintained, she has more power with which to fudge those times with. her time spent rebuilding and healing the realm has taken away much of her free time previously spent napping, along with researching personal things on the side, so if given the opportunity to nap she will, more often than not, take it.
what could wake them up? not much. given how lightly she sleeps even a couple words from a bedmate or someone calling her name is enough to rouse her from slumber. whether she answers or not is another question entirely. often times she will simply roll over and ignore them, or bury herself deeper into blankets. if she needs to be roused again then typically pulling away what she has hidden herself under will work, but it will most definitely result in some choice words.

Maximize Your Cooking Space: Space Saving Ideas for Tiny Kitchens That Make a Big Impact

It is not necessary to live with a painful kitchen experience because, with clever space-saving ideas, you can reinvent your kitchen, no matter how small it is. Even a tiny little kitchen can become a highly efficient and enjoyable cooking space using these space-saving hacks. It may be an apartment, a cozy house, or a studio; optimizing the kitchen layout and storage makes an absolute difference. Here are some of the most amazing space-efficient hacks to help you get the most from your small kitchen.
1. Vertical Storage for Maximum storage space

Take Advantage of Galley Kitchenâs Vertical Storage In a small kitchen, counter space is a precious commodity. So, go vertical. Shelves, hanging racks, or pegboards on walls are great places to store pots and pans and sometimes utensils. A magnetic strip can serve as a good space-efficient tool for putting knives or other metal utensils and freeing up drawer space.
Pro Tip: Nesting bowls and stackable containers are a good source of space savers within the cabinet. The possibilities for storage without messy kitchen chaos are endless.
2. Kitchen Cabinets Optimizer

It prevents small kitchens from getting messy and cluttered with shelf risers, pull-out drawers, and lazy Susans. Simplistic storage tools in terms of increased capacity and accessibility will ensure optimized utilization of your cabinet space.
3. Roll out an Additional Storage Cart

A small rolling cart works well in a small kitchen. It provides extra storage and a counter room where you can use it, but folds or stows away when the room isnât needed. If your countertops are limited, a collapsible piece of furniture is the ideal space-saver.
Use your noggin: Consider a cart whose shelves can be adjusted to suit your needs to maximize the space.
4. Portable Folding Furniture for Flexibility

Folding tables and chairs will be a fantastic space-efficient solution for small kitchens which are also dining rooms. Wall-mounted drop-leaf tables, as well as compact dining sets, work great in giving over the floor space when not being used. Under-counter stools help protect walkways.
Pro Tip: Stackable chairs or folding stools mean that you can entertain comfortably without sacrificing space when youâre not hosting guests.
5. Smart Pantry Storage using an Organizer

The organization is one of the ultimate ideas in the small pantry or cabinet space-saving techniques. Use stackable clear containers in the pantry or cupboard for your dry goods, labeling them easily. Store similar types together in order to identify them faster.
