that's it that's the movie

outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative

actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.

but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too

also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain

side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty

i like how the Final Girl and her friend casually smoke weed in her car. yeah she's an honor student and her friend is the sheriff's daughter. yeah they smoke weed. so what it's 1978

Dr. Abbot who has repeatedly seen the worst life has to offer, who has taken to carrying disaster supplies around with him everywhere, who has seen young boys blown to pieces in the name of patriotism, who lost his own leg in the service of others, who has seen senseless death in the emergency room, who has lost his spouse and seen his Person die before their time. Dr. Abbot the widow and veteran who has gone to therapy, who has chosen preparation over fear, who writes letters to patient's family members, who has made himself kind and gentle when many let themselves become bitter and cruel. Dr. Abbot who is putting himself out there, who is flirting, and teaching, and mentoring, and caring, and healing, and loving, despite all the worst of life that he has borne witness to. Dr. Abbot who looked into the abyss, into the darkness and said no, life is still good is still worth saving. When he was talking Robby off the ledge he did not say they were soldiers, he did not say they were fighting, he did not use a violent metaphor for their work. No he said they were worker bees protecting the hive. He said they were a community in service of others, he made it about protection, and sacrifice, and care. Just, Dr. Abbot who gives thumbs up and corrects gently, and gives interns credit even for their crazy ideas, and still wears his wedding ring every day, and feels hopeless sometimes and goes up on the roof, but always comes back down to keep caring keep loving. Dr. Abbot man.

Chapter 11: Coffee, Extra Cream

Description: Claire adds a ~special ingredient~ to her coffee when she wakes up after a night spent at Owen’s bungalow.

Claire felt the bed shift as Owen leaned toward her, and she felt a rough stubbly kiss on her neck as she began to wake. His hand trailed down her side, making her skin tingle as she stretched and pressed herself back into his warm body.

“Mornin’, sleeping beauty.” Owen placed another kiss on her cheek as she smiled. The memory of last night, hot and sweaty, was fresh on her mind as Owen pulled back and climbed out of bed. He was still buck naked as he padded forward into the little kitchenette of his small bungalow. Claire paused, letting her teeth burrow into her lower lip as she watched and enjoyed the view. Her fingers danced idly over the light cotton sheet she held against her body. She was just as naked herself, and began to wonder where her clothing had landed the night before. Claire had to get to work.

Claire was sure Owen was hiding things on her at this point, and she’d learned long ago to bring a change of clothes when she stayed the night because there was no getting out of here with enough time to return to her own apartment before she had to be back at her duties. She did make an effort to hunt down her belongings, but by the time the smell of fresh coffee wafted through the bungalow she was fully dressed with most of her things collected.

She wrapped a hand around Owen’s waist as she approached him in the kitchen, holding a piece of toast, and she reached up to place a kiss on the edge of his jaw.

“Brewin’ a fresh pot for you now,” Owen said, leaning against the counter and placing his free hand around her, “I know you gotta get goin’.”

Claire smirked, breathing in slowly. “I’ve got a few minutes…”

Blink Gone Observations

1. Inconsistencies compared to previous rounds:

In every single one of these above, the image goes out quickly and then the winning contestant moves up the bracket.

Till is the only exception. His image doesn't go out until after Luka's image has moved into the winning spot and it visibly flickers before it does.

After Sua, Ivan, and even background characters died, they all had large pools of blood under them.

Till is the only one who does not.

2. Hiding his status from the audience

His heart-monitoring earpiece falling out which would tell if he is alive or dead as identified by @pixelifiedcation. @tillsfan recognized the teaser emphasized the earpieces are heart monitors, which, among other reasons, could be to direct fans to this detail.

@asteriass realized how the red spray paint at the bottom of Till's pants and the red soles of his shoes creates the illusion he bled out to the segyein audience. The platform is raised and the floor is reflective.

Unlike previous stages, which were surrounded by the audience on all sides, Round 7 can only be viewed from the front.

Till's leg and Mizi's arm obstruct the segyein's view of Till's actual injury.

Combined with the misdirection of Hyuna's presence, and the excitement over Luka's win, the segyein do not notice there is no pool of blood.

3. From a medical standpoint:

There's lots of different claims people have made, so I consulted my friend who is a medical resident. After laying out the details, he concluded Till's wound is most likely a tracheal injury - not arterial. If so, Till is coughing up blood that is draining into his lungs. My friend's main reasoning is the lack of pooling up blood. The wound still needs immediate medical attention though.

Based on the chart provided by @lost-fugue, this would fall into the orange region with a 50-15% chance of survival. It can be lethal but it should be treatable.

@verdantlights explained the animation team has been consistently accurate with portraying gunshot wounds.

That said, humans can survive virtually anything. They can live after being shot in the head, jumping off a high bridge, or skydiving without a working parachute. So there's no scenario in which his wound is "impossible" to survive.

Till's leg would have fallen down due to gravity since he would have no muscle tone (passive muscle contraction).

If his right foot was pinned under his left leg, then his leg could remain up even if he was dead. However, this is visual storytelling and it would be confusing, ineffective, and illogical for that to be the reason for the positioning of his leg.

Wiege Observations

The morse code at the start of the song spells out "ALIVE" as identified by @awaggaa. While this has the thematic meaning of what it means to be alive, it could also serve a literal meaning that Till is still alive.

@honeybeetlejuice informed there is a heartbeat at the end of Wiege. Compared to Cure, in which Till's heartbeat was speeding up while Ivan's was slow and steady, this heartbeat is faint with long pauses between each one.
