This is the longest debate I have seen about spn. So let's talk do you think destiel relationship was a queerbait? I have expanded on the reasoning than just yes or no, because in reality this is a real complex question whether spn fans get it or not. Please feel free to add on to the reasoning what you think about destiel.
The problem is also with people confusing queerbait with queercoded so here is the definition of the two.

MAJOR update.
Yesterday, during our Fund Care Not Billionaires nationwide day of action, hundreds of nurses and activists took action at dozens of Republican House and Senate offices to demand NO cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security.
At the same time, the U.S. Senate voted 50-50, with a tie-breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance, to pass this awful budget reconciliation bill, including more than $1 trillion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
In Maine, nurses and activists were gathered at Senator Susan Collins’ office yesterday morning WHILE she voted ‘no’ on this bill in the Senate. Her ‘no’ vote was only possible BECAUSE of constituents like these organizing in Maine. This action followed after our national phone banks last week, where we talked to 5,830 Maine voters and drove 143 calls to Collins’ office.
We were also out at several district offices of House Republican members who have recently ‘expressed concerns’ about the bill, including:
100+ people at Rep. Ciscomani’s office in Tucson, AZ;
200+ people at Rep. Kim’s office in Anaheim, CA;
100+ people at Rep. Malliotakis’ office in Staten Island, NY.
Together, we showed these members that their constituents are watching how they will vote this week. With the revised bill now headed back to the U.S. House for a final vote, our day of action couldn’t have been better timed. We can still stop this bill, but it could be voted on as soon as today.
This is our very last chance to block massive cuts to our care: Please call your representative (even if you already have) using our hotline at 202-978-5357 and urge them to vote NO on cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security!
Feel free to use or adapt this script:
Hi, my name is _______. I am a constituent and a nurse/other health care worker/patient/Medicaid recipient. I’m calling today to urge you to oppose any cuts to Medicare or Medicaid. Cuts to these vital programs would take away people’s health care and lead to hospital closures, especially in rural areas, hurting entire communities. This is unacceptable and inhumane. I urge you to vote no on the final budget reconciliation bill if it includes any cuts to Medicare or Medicaid.
Let’s make our voices heard one more time to save our care.

As I do when I am hyperfixating on something, I have read a LOT of supernatural fanfiction in the last few months, and I get a lot of the titles I read from other peoples’ recommendations or collections on ao3, so I figured I’d share some of my favorites in case anyone else is looking for recs :)
AUs:
Spirit of the West by teen_dean
This is a shock to literally no one who follows me because I regularly bring it up, but it honestly is one of the best things I’ve ever read. The 90s horse girl AU of your dreams (or, if you haven’t dreamed of one, that you never knew you needed). The storytelling is immaculate, the symbolism rich, and it only improves on re-reading
And this, your living kiss by opal_bullets
Poet Dean AU featuring genuinely beautiful comments on language and writing and how we encounter stories and words and what they can do, and also some honestly incredible poetry
where there is darkness by quiettewandering
Lighthouse keepers AU! this one is a bit mysterious and I did scream into a pillow after finishing it. If you know the story of the Flannan Isles lighthouse keepers, it is loosely inspired by that.
Phantasma by thisisapaige
Messy Dean, my beloved. Messy, Stanford-Era Dean, my beloved. Dean breaks off from John and buys a haunted house, and things sort of escalate.
For All You Young Hockey Players Out There, Pay Attention by thursdaysfallenangel
I don’t even watch hockey, but this AU kind of made me want to start. Rivals to friends to lovers all while dealing with the homophobia in the NHL
time has come today series by teen_dean
Team Free Will brings in teen Dean Winchester to help with a case, parallel worlds come into play; every version of Dean Winchester falls in love with Castiel & all the good stuff like that
What Baking Can Do by cowlovely
Baker & Dad Dean fic and Doctor Cas? What more could you ask for?
Everyone’s a Critic by Englandwouldfall
Food Critic Cas and Chef Dean meet in a truly unfortunate way. This is worth it for Cas’s reviews alone, but also the Dean-Gabriel dynamic
FROTUS by kathscradle
A President Cas, Restaurant Owner Dean romance that was honestly just a good time
Fix-Its:
take the bones, begin anew by JustStandingHere
This was one of the first fics I read and it is sort of peak disaster™ Dean Winchester. I love a good “I fixed up a house for you and didn’t realize it meant I was in love” fic and this one is iconic
i want to do with you (what spring does with cherry trees) by sobsicles
I ugly cry every time I read this fic. It is a run of Cas and Dean’s relationship in seasons 13-15 and has Dean making a friend and it hurts but also it’s so good. Maybe my favorite Sam line of any fic comes from this fic ("If he thinks what you two do is friendship, then I must just be some guy he happens to speak to sometimes.”)
break the skin (to break the barriers) by sobsicles
Dean gets tattoos, and as he does, he tells the tattoo artist his life story. This is a post-15x19 fic told from an outside perspective and it is so well-done
Dumbassery, Denial, Doing by sobsicles
Listen tbh this list could be dominated by sobsicles and so I am showing restraint by only including three of their works. Their Dean characterization is everything to me and this fic really highlights Dean growing to understand himself better when given the freedom to
Revisions by bizarrestars
THEE what if Dean and Cas got together earlier and Chuck just wrote it out? fic.
a turn of the earth by microcomets
I love a work that explores pre-series Dean, and this one is great. Basically, think what-if later seasons Cas and pre-series Dean met (Strandlines by aeli_kindara is another good example of this premise, but in Strandlines, it is pre-series Cas as well as pre-series Dean).
psalm 40:2 by unicornpoe
On a similar note, psalm 40:2 is a great pre-series Dean, future-Cas fic. I am a bi Dean believer but this fic did sway me toward the gay Dean camp because it’s simply so good.
You Belong Among the Wildflowers by ImYourHoneyBee
Dean fixing his relationship with Jack? You got it. Dean trying to work through losing Cas? Yep. Dean getting Cas back by being stubborn? It’s there.
Who You Gonna Call? by saintedcastiel
Dean has a ghost following him around as he tries to start a life post-series, and for a while, he can’t figure out what’s happening. I love nothing more than Dean telling people he and Cas were married because he doesn’t know how else to explain and this fic delivers so hard
quilts by fleeceframe
A “Cas didn’t confess before getting taken to the Empty” fic. Soft things all around
Miscellaneous:
Fathers & Daughters by sinnabonka
On a different note, this is one of my favorite Claire fics. It looks at Claire’s relationship with Cas and the impossibility of it, and it’s so artfully done.
Bus Loop Madness by batz_in_blue
Literally just a “what if everyone lived, Jack was a toddler, and they all picked him up from school?” AU. I audibly laughed while reading this, and it’s an essential pick-me-up from the heavier fics.
More of my favorite sobsicles fics include: gorging myself on you, still can’t get full (insatiable), and he’s back (with a mind of his own), six hundred sundays (and many more), oh sooner or later it all comes down to faith, things happen (they do, they do, and they do), according to all known laws of life, and profoundly bonded (by law)
Also, honorable mentions to Ninety One Whiskey, which is such a good fic, and Make a Believer Outta Me, which is a Hocus Pocus AU that is honestly just a fun time.

Amadeus: A Riddle for Thee ~ Episode 1 ~ Waltz May Devlog
Devlog TL;DR—
BandCamp album updated & discounted!
Embeds with art & story snippets on my website here!
Game 2 scenes away from being built*!
I played through all of it. Very confident in where it's at :)
*with placeholders, but built nonetheless.
Read on for details~
Wishlist on Steam | Follow on Itch | More Links
OST Update
First, SOMETHING FUN. To celebrate Amadeus reaching over 700 outstanding wishlists on Steam (what!!), and also to celebrate the fact that I am almost finished building the whole thing; I've updated the soundtrack album on BandCamp. It now:
Contains every track in the current demo
Preserves tracks from obsolete demos
Costs $5 (but you can listen all you want for totally free)
I have also updated the "thank you for your support" page I built with the soundtrack embed, so it has all of this music with unique track art and overall better reflects what the game is now. If you want a way to experience the music and vibes of Amadeus without playing the game, this is probably the best way to do that! Check it out here: https://arcanaxix.com/PressKit/ost.html

(Disclaimer: it probably looks terrible on super high-res screens, please zoom in if that is the case. Forgive my janky webdev. Thank you in advance)
Development Status
Now—on to progress. As with the last few before it, this past month was spent building out 3 new scenes in the game to a state of "playable." The scripts are in with some revisions, a combination of final and placeholder assets were used to flesh them out, and the scenes exist now. I spent particular attention on the music implementation and timing for these ones (...including fixing a bug with the seamless looping mechanic and how it transitions between tracks) and I think that's feeling really effective.
I'm not saying much more because this is the juiciest part of the game. I don't want to set expectations or give things away in a development update before the game is even out, so I'm really holding back here. But there's nothing quite like finally getting to make the climax of this game after working on it somewhere between 2 and 3 years. It's so exciting!!
Pulling back from last month's specific goals, I also took one day and decided to play all the way through the game that I have built so far, from start-to-finish. I was starting to feel incredibly anxious about whether my "one hour before work each workday" development slots were in fact enough time dedicated to this game to actually finish it. I am very aware of how many placeholders and not-quite-fully-implemented mechanics are in the later scenes, in stark contrast to the early scenes that are fully polished and publicly available. I have been swimming in a sea of "not quite actually there" scenes, so the fear I'm not really making very much progress at all has been eating away at me.
So I decided to play it and know for sure. What state is the game in, really? How unfinished is it still? Is the writing as rough as I feel like it is?
Ohhh, I'm so glad I did this. Playing the game pretty much destroyed these fears. This game is going to be good. It is going to be good for a very particular audience, sure; but for those who are seeking what I am giving, it is going to be really special. It already is good. It already is special.
The music is great. The writing is great. The art is great. The seeds I am sowing for things that will happen much later are delicious. I laughed a couple times. And the combination of everything, in my completely mega-biased opinion, is something of a flavor completely unlike anything else out there. It is certainly inspired by very specific things, but the way they come together here is incredibly unique. I am so excited to share this with the world!
(Playing the game also had other uses. It helped me discover some bugs I didn't catch in some early scenes from edits I made to certain menu prefabs. It gave me a couple ideas on a few thematic items I can tie together a bit neater. The experience just generally gave me a good big-picture perspective that I really needed.)
And funny enough, it is this excitement and confidence, not the anxiety from before, that actually gets me to wake up a little earlier for even more development time on occasion. I started this devlog an hour before my Amadeus Slot(TM) technically began today because I wanted to spend more time on it. Amadeus is very important to me, and dedicating time to it is important to me. Especially since I have a difficult-but-rewarding IRL job that interfaces a lot with trauma and other shit that sucks; Amadeus gives me something meaningful to work hard on that isn't so high-stakes, but is equally rewarding. It's necessary for me to stay sane. I am devoted to seeing it through to its 5-episode completion.
June Goals
For this coming month, my to-do list is very simple. I'm going to "finish" the game. Certainly not to a ready-for-publishing state, not even quite to a ready-for-playtesting state (although that should be coming soon after); but to a "you can technically play it from the very start to the very end and it contains the full experience" state.
What that means in practice is building out one last point-and-click scene, one last VN scene, and the credits. I'm looking forward to posting a devlog at the end of June that just says "WE DID IT GAMERS."
(Short aside - this next month I will also be writing some tracks for a friend working on the Toxic Yuri VN Jam, and said friend has encouraged me to go nuts and do wild shit, so that should be really fun. I will share the fruits of our labor when that is finished too.)
For today, that about wraps things up. Thank you for your continued interest!
...
......
......
..
...Okay, one final aside. It was last June that I wrote a devlog about overcoming a massive internal hurdle by means of playing Sonic Adventure and remembering what matters to me in games, gaining a huge boost in confidence and returning to development with a vigor. This past month, I replayed Sonic Adventure again and overcame a similar hurdle. Coincidence???

Anon Advice Asks - May 17
midnights anon, exam results anon (new), skater anon, panromantic anon, catastrophizing anon (new)
midnights anon
Hello! It’s midnights anon. Sorry for another ask, please feel free to ignore it, it’s just my dad being irksome
I was tired after rehearsal and homework so I’ve been kinda mellow, and whenever talking to my dad I’d been saying “okay” a lot? And so when I was sweeping the floors at like, 9pm he said “is everything okay??? I heard noises!!!” And I said “yeah”, since, it was okay, and I figured he’d know that I was just sweeping the floor since, I was on the ground with a dust pan and stuff??? But he started to be annoyed at my “attitude” and in the span of 90 seconds he accused me of “gaslighting”, “pretending not to understand”, “giving this type of attitude” and “being too much” because I kept answering him quietly throughout the day. This rant happened while I was standing still in the bathroom, brush in hand, like this: 🧍
Like, sir? I come out of my room for the first time in like, a while, after being sad and tired, and start sweeping the floors unprompted, and you berate me?
Then he just, left like nothing happened.
I’ve been trying to be more mentally balanced and well, eating more, taking my vitamins, exercising, etc., but I still keep disassociating/derealizing like, so hard where I literally cannot feel any emotions and I just didn’t understand until I remembered who my parents were and that this is how they act
Maybe it’ll be better when I get a job, and when I can drive, and I keep telling myself things will get easier as I get older, but it’s hard
Anyways, I’m sorry for another ask. I hope you’re doing well. Thank you 🫶✨
Hi!
That IS annoying, I'm sorry he acted like that. I am happy to hear that you've been working on eating well and taking your vitamins, though! It sounds like you're doing well with prioritizing your heath! <3
___
exam results anon
hey cas!
I wanted to rant a bit. I got my exam results, this exams are a huge deal as it defines which college I go to. I'm planning on choosing an English major and when I went to gather some info in a college that I have as my first choice. The people at the college said that I needed to score 90 above for 100 in this exam. I didn't worry much about it because I always ace my English exams. I've gotten full marks on several revision exams conducted by my school.
But my results came yesterday and I only scored 88. It completely shook me. I was shaking and crying. My brother tried to console me but my mum didn't care enough to mask her disappointment in me. I got decent marks in other subjects, but my mum's disappointment and my own disappointment in myself is just too much to handle.
My friends had gotten good scores too and when they talked to my mum, she told them that she's proud of them and she expected them to get the scores that they had gotten. She told me that she didn't really expect me to score that well, as I have, in other subjects but she expected me to geet atleast 98 in English. She further went on to talk about how one of my friends had gotten 90+ marks in 4 subjects and how her parents' pressuring her made her get good scores. She mentioned plenty times before, how she thinks her not pressuring me is not a good way to parent a kid. It just makes me sad that nobody including myself is proud of me.
Maybe i had high hopes on myself but I excelled at English. I was known to excelle in English at school. Everyone expected it too. Sometimes I look at my mother and wonder maybe she'd be more happy if she had one of my friends as her kid instead of me.
Hi!
I am so sorry this happened <3 But I do want to remind you that, no matter what your mom says, you are more than just one test score. People have off days all the time, and one number doesn't define who you are. It's not fair to you, to be mad at yourself forever <3
Are you able to maybe retake the test? I'm not sure where you're located, but I'm hoping maybe this test isn't a one-time thing? I know in the US, we can retake the SATs if we suck the first time...
___
skater anon
Hii, skater anon here
I'm gonna tell her I like her on the 31st hopefully it goes well
I'm soooo nervous though
And advice on how to actually calm down and do it
Hi! What if you practice beforehand or write down what you want to say? That way you have your thoughts in order, you know?
Sending luck and keep me updated!
___
panromantic anon
Panromantic anon,
I am ofc still just a friend but at least she says I love you and the moon is beautiful today? I think it's good enough for me? I am still happy,we will go to a holiday together and stay in the same room so-
Hi <3 I'm glad you're doing okay. I hope your holiday goes well! Keep me updated if you want, and I'm sending you all the love <3
___
catastrophizing anon
Hiya Cas, sorry for another ask so soon, I hope you’re having a good day :)
Uhm, I forgot my laptop at school after rehearsal, so I have to get it back tomorrow morning, and my mom’s super disappointed in me. She’s upset and I told her there’s like, an 100% chance I’ll get it back because people leave stuff at school all the time, and that they always get it back, and that I left it in a place where I know exactly where it is, but she says that’s no excuse and the fact that other people leave their stuff at school doesn’t mean I should become careless. What hurt the not is her calling me careless. I mean it’s obviously scary when someone who literally has control over your life is upset with you but I try 24/7 to be the best child I can be but it ends in few (but one sided and explosive) arguments or me not being perfect. I’ve literally never done this before. But still I feel like shit
And my friends still hung up on the same guy, and won’t stop talking about him, and is upset yet still defending him? I don’t really understand romantic relationships all too well but, she’s really hurt by this guy. I want to help her and let her vent but I nearly never get to vent about stuff.
I’m of course speaking in hyperboles but I’m just feeling big stupid painful feelings. It hurts, like, my heart physically hurts.
I’m trying my best. Everyone says “I know you are, I’m proud of you” but I feel like they take it for granted. I’m trying my best at school but no one seems to notice because it’s unfathomable for me not to be excellent. I’m trying my best at home and they take it for granted because it’s not comprehensible that I wouldn’t be their perfect daughter. Same with friendship. I’m starting to doubt that a friendship like the marauders exists, because all of the friendships end up the same. I exist/am for others, and I get the scraps. And again, I know I’m catastrophizing. I know that it’s not always, and I know I have good days (I had a good day today until I realized where my laptop was) but it’s just one thing after the other.
I know mom is allowed to be upset. I know I’m allowed to be upset. I know I can’t fix the pain. I know I have to wait until tomorrow. I know it all but it still hurts. People are “proud” of me but they don’t show it. Like gets “easier” but I’m still feeling pain.
(redacted) I’m just so angry. I can’t even take care or myself because I feel so paralyzed from fear and fatigue and sadness. It’s so hard.
I’m sorry for venting in your inbox again. You’re a lovely person, thank you
Hi hon! I'm sorry, it sounds like you already have an anon name but you didn't say what it was, so I gave you a new one.
Remember, all of these things can be true at the same time. You can be trying your best, things can get easier in the future, people can be proud of you, and things can still just REALLY suck right now. And that's okay to acknowledge<3 your feelings are valid and you're always welcome to vent here.
Sending love!

The sims 4 ("Chikawa Inspired") Short Legacy Challenge!
Hello everyone!~ I was getting kinda bored with the sims 4, so I made a short and sweet legacy challenge (For us all ADHD peeps) inspired by Chiikawa! Your sims name should be up to you! and even though i add some common legacy challenge rules, please feel free to adapt and revise according to your preference! The goal of this challenge is for YOU the players to have fun playings the game again!
Note! Chiikawa characters does not belong to me. Have fun guys!
✨Overall Rules ✨
1. Legacy Style: This is a generational challenge. The heir of each generation must embody the traits, spirit, and career of their assigned character. You can choose any child as the heir.
2. Money: Start with the standard §20,000 or §0 on any residential lot. No money cheats are allowed, but build/buy and CAS cheats are perfectly fine.
3. Aging & Lifespan: Aging must be on. A "Normal" lifespan is recommended to give you enough time for the goals. But you can pick any lifespan you find comfortable in.
4. Packs: Each generation has recommended packs to enhance their story. If you don't own a pack, feel free to substitute goals or careers with something similar in spirit from the packs you do have (or with mods!)
✨Lets Get Started ✨
🍀 Generation 1: Chiikawa - The Timid Sprout You’re a gentle soul with a big, sensitive heart. The world can feel a little overwhelming, so you find comfort in the quiet and familiar. Your other child is your little shadow, sharing a Close bond with you over quiet activities.

Take a family vacation to Granite Falls, stay for at least two days, and successfully identify a new type of insect.

You're a whirlwind of joyful, chaotic energy, making a living by experiencing things and telling the world about them. Your journey is about exploring everything the world has to offer, from city festivals to snowy mountaintops.
• Traits: Erratic, Goofball, Active • Aspiration: City Native • Assigned Career: Critic (Arts or Food Branch) • Children: 3 • Recommended Packs: City Living, Snowy Escape • Family Dynamics: Your constant need for excitement creates a Distant dynamic with your more structured parent (Hachiware). Your own household is a loving, chaotic mess with a Jokesters dynamic between you and your kids.
Life Goals: 1. Master the Snowboarding or Skiing skill. 2. Live in an apartment in San Myshuno; use your "Work from Home" assignments to attend every festival (e.g., Spice Festival, GeekCon) at least once. 3. Achieve level 5 in the Painting skill and level 5 in the Comedy skill to be a well-rounded critic.
🍀 Generation 4: Momonga - The Charming Sweetheart Growing up in a household buzzing with chaotic energy, you learned that being adorable was the best way to get noticed. You crave a life of comfort and admiration, and you've decided to make a career out of being in the spotlight. You're not malicious, just... pampered. Your life is a performance, and you are the star.
• Traits: Self-Absorbed, Childish, High Maintenance • Aspiration: Master Actor • Assigned Career: Actor • Children: 1 • Recommended Packs: Get Famous, Spa Day • Family Dynamics: You find your parent's (Usagi's) chaotic energy a bit tiring, leading to a Difficult but low-stakes dynamic. You absolutely adore your only child, seeing them as a reflection of your own wonderful self and creating a Close bond.

🍀 Generation 5: Rakko - The Quiet Guardian Your parent lived their life in the spotlight, but you find comfort in the shadows. You are strong, disciplined, and a person of few words, choosing a career where you can protect others. You show your love through quiet, dependable actions and feel a deep need to stand up for those who can't protect themselves.
• Traits: Loner, Self-Assured, Adventurous • Aspiration: Jungle Explorer • Assigned Career: Detective • Children: 2 • Recommended Packs: Get to Work, Jungle Adventure • Family Dynamics: Your reserved nature clashes with your parent's (Momonga's) need for attention, creating a respectful but Distant relationship. With your own family, you are a rock, building a Supportive and secure home.
Life Goals: 1. Master the Selvadoradian Culture skill and successfully navigate the jungle temple three times. 2. Complete the "Purveyor of Potions" aspiration as a secondary aspiration, using your logic skill for both police work and potion-making. 3. Mentor both of your children to max out a positive Character Value of your choice.
🍀 Generation 6: Kurimanju - The Connoisseur of Comfort You are the culmination of a long and varied family history. You've decided that the ultimate goal is simply to enjoy life's pleasures. You make a living surrounded by the finest food and drink. You're a connoisseur of comfort, with a sophisticated palate and an appreciation for luxury. Your life is about perfecting the art of cozy, self-satisfied indulgence.
• Traits: Snob, Foodie, Lazy • Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy • Assigned Career: Culinary (Chef Branch) • Children: Player's Choice (0 or 1) • Recommended Packs: Dine Out, Vintage Glamour Stuff • Family Dynamics: You hold a quiet respect for your disciplined parent (Rakko), but you have no desire to live such a strenuous life, maintaining a polite, Distant dynamic. Your focus is on yourself and your small, curated circle of sophisticated friends.
Life Goals: 1. Own and operate a 5-star restaurant that serves your own exquisite recipes. 2. Master the Gourmet Cooking and Mixology skills. 3. Hire a Butler and keep them employed for the remainder of your Sim's life, ending the legacy in ultimate comfort.

New laws coming into effect as of the New Year!
In Idaho and Louisiana, bans on gender affirming care for minors will come into effect. West Virginia also has a ban, but it allows access with parental consent and a medical diagnosis. Meanwhile, in Maryland, gender affirming care will be covered by Medicaid and Hawaii is requiring that new marriage certificates be issued on request to people who change their gender and is replacing "mother" and "father" with "birthing parent" and "non-birthing parent" in state law. In Colorado, buildings that are at least partly owned by government entities will be required to have at least one gender-neutral bathroom on any floor that has public restrooms.
Washington state will make new or renewing insurance plans will no longer be allowed to charge deductibles or copays for abortions. California will protect both abortion and gender affirming care from out-of-state litigation.
Indiana will make it easier for parents to challenge books in school libraries while Illinois will block state funding to public libraries that ban or restrict books.
In Illinois, police will no longer be able to pull over drivers because of something hanging from their rear-view mirrors (this is jokingly being referred to as the "fuzzy dice" law). Also, Illinois will be banning high-powered rifles and high-capacity magazines. It is also allowing victims of deepfake pornography to sue.
Minnesota has a new Red Flag law that will allow police to take guns away from people deemed to be an imminent threat. Colorado is banning ghost guns. Connecticut is requiring online dating operators to adopt policies to prevent harassment. North Carolina is requiring porn sites to confirm that users are 18 years old by using commercial databases and allows parents to sue if their kids access porn.
Twenty-two states will increase their minimum wage. If you live in AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IL, ME, ML, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NJ, NY, OH, RI, SD, VT, WA, or DC, minimum wage will be going up. In addition to these, NV and OR will increase the minimum wage in July and FL will see an increase at the end of September.
In federal news, as of the New Year, your employer may be able to make a matching contribution into your 401(k) retirement account when you make student loan payments.
Finally, the FAFSA is getting shorter and easier to fill out. This should mean a lot more low-income borrowers getting federal assistance.
Here's my sources which have more details on all of these if you're interested in checking them out:

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) oversees this stage, which connects the Foundation and Final levels. A seamless transition to the December 2025 exam is ensured by being aware of the registration procedure, due dates, and eligibility.
The Significance of Early Registration

Applicants should register as soon as possible if they intend to take the exam in December 2025. The deadline for registering for the June 2026 term is January 31, 2026. Early application minimizes technical obstacles, expedites document submission, and gives students enough time to study for the test.
Furthermore, coordinating your study schedule with the CMA Intermediate Registration for December 2025 schedule allows for efficient revision techniques, which boosts exam confidence.
Qualifications for Registration
Candidates must verify they meet ICMAI's eligibility requirements prior to applying. You may sign up if you:

How to Register: Online and Offline Methods
ICMAI offers two easy ways to register:

I was so sick yesterday that I made the worst coffee I wish I could have rested but sleeping in the car makes me nervous! Plus, any other time I drive with a headache, I become a triumphant hero whose pain has been instantly blurred by time. I kept telling myself, I won’t remember this, this part, but I will remember if I buy a motel. Plus, I would have to wake up at 4 to get through the gate since I don’t have a sticker since my car isn’t registered to me. I just had to drive 3 or 4 hours, park, and get to bed. I could go to bed at 11! Parking at a gas station to rest my eyes, I saw one sign said 15 minute parking customers only (spoiling my nap plan) and the other said (clearly revised) 30 minute, then finally I went in and wondered around they were cleaning the bathroom outside attached in front of my eyes. I wanted coffee with water in it because even though I’d had 1.5 glasses of water I still had had 2 wine(well it was good) while I had the headache (well whiskey can cure wound pain, so wine should cure headaches, I mean it did get me to the beach to lay in the sand and think about Jim Nabors singing career. I was walking super slow. One time (extended beeeep as I tell a shortened story) still awake at 4am after not eating and I wobbled seasickly into a gas station and the clerk looked at me and I knew by recognition that I looked undead. The coffee had 3 prices: drip, cappuccino, and frozen. It said do not mix cappuccino, cappuccino is a different price from drip! I didn’t want to fuss with the tiny cups of cream even though famously I drink it black with a third cup of milk. That’s how sick I was, I didn’t want to bother. I was going to get cinnamon flavored drip, thinking maybe this time it would be actual flavor not just aroma, as if sugar (or cinnamon) can cut bitterness, but it was Out and only a dribble went into my cup, a small cup (at this point the coffee would have been 1/1/1 coffee water and cream, not enough coffee to keep my eyes from blurring and swimming I was ping ponging around in my lane it was bad) so I put 2 pumps of regular which was ice cold. So I put hot water. Then it was too hot. They didn’t have a soda machine! It’s against CA law not to have free water. I put some frozen mocha in. Immediately it was too cold. I put 3 cream in but didn’t stir. I threw the cream cups away after looking carefully for the trash I had to look for it I was so sick I didn’t inately know. I trudged to the cashier. Did you get a cappuccino? He said. You can just charge me whatever, I said, which is rude because it implies he’s a crook, but I did mix frozen and drip after all, but it would take too long to explain it. I said sorry in the same breath. Said sorry too, looking at me. They say I get pale when I’m this way. He charged me $1.94. And I was so sick that I had only filled the cup 3/4 and didn’t put a lid. I took a sip on my way out and if there was ever a doubt that I would not under any circumstances drink this it was cemented. The bathroom outside stank of chemical cleaner. I was sensitive because 20 minutes later I would have to turn off the highway, put the car behind a white truck in a convient turnout, open the door and bend out, and let my car move up 3 feet while not moving anything out of me. I feel very mature for pulling off to get sick, as old as 22 I would try to hold it or fight it, failing to get a second option like a bucket, and make a mess. I put the car in park and tried again, very impressively. My third go at it, I got it on the door, so I ringed it with the ginger ale which I’d opened during the movie date to make sure that running hadn’t shaken it up. Then I realized I had ginger ale and drank some!
I put the small cup on top of my car to unlock it. Last time I stopped in Gilroy my credit card disappeared, so I’m lucky to have everything together, my keys are attached to my wallet so that if I ever lose them I will actionable threat, I guess, I can’t imagine a good reason to attach them. My Gucci wallet was big enough to put my phone in, I got them on the same day so it was cute to have everything together. If I lost that it’s my whole life, that’s how it feels to not have an ID Card. Anyways it’s bulky and I needed two hands. I sat in the car again. Five minutes later I realized I had forgotten my coffee up there. Five more minutes and I opened the door and tried to reach the cup while sitting, I tried my other arm too. A clerk at the dumpster saw me and smiling widely tried to signal to me that the cup were further back and I just waved at him like I could play off what I was doing. He gestured more instistqntly but it was gibberish until I got out and saw it was further back. I think he was smiling because I didn’t just drive off and spill it in his parking lot, or maybe just the customer service smile, or he’d seen me walking slow. I left, using the coffee to rinse my mouth the 3 times I got sick, forgetting the ginger ale or finding the lidless cup more inviting. I puppy guarded the coffee knowing I only didn’t want it because I was sick. The next gas station I stopped at, was the cheapest gas on the 140, Marathon, which closes at 10, and I rolled up at 9:02 hoping, hoping. It has a cruel advert poster, 24/7 Marlboro $6.99 cheapest price in this store, morning or night, the price is right!” I filled my tank for $12 and went inside to get water because when I got home I wouldn’t have any fresh water, only blueberry water which much like the wine would not help me. I’d given my other cup to my roommate when she was freaking about our evil neighbor, and she returned it instead of losing it in her messy room, empty, but I hadn’t found the time to go to the water fountain. I also bought a sugar flavored beef stick. It had been 2 or 3 hours and I actually felt fine, but the singular bite of grease I had rattled around in my stomach. But it inspired my hunger which is of course a great sign, so I had a small bite every 42 minutes (3 times). The clerk here was very handsome.
In the morning I took my coffee. It tasted like a bottled Starbucks latte!! 👍
#This is the only thing I know about personal essay (yeah right) writing is the conclusion and introduction have to match!#Emeto

Cas, hey! it's student anon. ok so i should tell you something about myself, so that u get a better idea of my life situation I'm ASIAN, idk if u hv seen the stereotype videos on the internet but they're mostly true, so dropping my extra classes is not on the table, bcoz well *awkwardly laughs in asian*.
also a little clarification abt my schedule: my evenings after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and, Fridays are free. i do not have classes then but at the same time, my evenings after school on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are NOT.
They're jam-packed, i wake up from my afternoon nap at 5 and i have my viola classes from 5:30-6:30, then i hv an hour break in between which usually goes into getting something to eat and going to this place where i take extra maths classes (coz i suck ass in maths). (i know I'm an asian who sucks at maths, LMAO) and then from 7:45-8:45, i do maths. then i come back home. and after im home, it's a whole night of revision, revision, revision, oh and did i mention 2 hrs of viola?
yeah that's it!
thank you sm for taking out time to help me !
Hi!
My god, that sounds...overwhelming.
Would it be possible to take a shorter nap and revise before viola? Then you can go to sleep earlier?
I'm so sorry, I'm struggling to think of a good solution. But really, I'm here to vent if you need to <3
