Team Dark Week Day 7 - Live and Learning Experience
If he can pull this off he'll earn himself a wayfinding badge for his scout sash 👌
And that's a wrap on Team Dark week!! Bit quicker with the shading and background this time because 4 panels in this style takes forever actually h a h - that said I'll be touching them up before I post this whole week of panels as a master post soon (which will include some extra little doodles I didn't get to add to the main plotline), so keep an eye out for that!
And for those of you that have been following along daily, I hope you all enjoyed this silly little hiking story!

Danny stared out his window as the cars and buildings passed by. Or more accurately, his house passed by the cars and buildings. Of all the times for his house to be transported into another dimension, it had to be the one time he was left to be home alone for a week.
Once his house was displaced its programming was activated and it was trying to find its way back to the correct coordinates by following roads and interstates back to Amity Park. Danny didn't think it was too much of an issue, sure his house definitely wasn't street legal but he can't exactly stop the house without admin privileges (something only his mom had).
Still, he didn't think a wierd walking building really justified the explosives or what looked like actual superheros and villians trying to destroy his home. Some even tried to kidnap him!
Red Robin had seen a lot of things. A full four story brick building with a very large and precariously attached ufo shapped attic and a large metal basement lump underneath walking around on a bunch of large spindly spiderlike legs was a new one though.
Aka Danny is stuck inside Fentonworks until it gets back to Amity Park, unknowing that hes in another dimension and Amity doesn't exist here. The building is fully capable of defending itself and is beating the crap out of heros and villians alike. Basically whoever attacks it or tries to get inside. Danny is being really casual about the whole thing and everyone believes he is a captive.
Dannys just wondering why the government isn't just sending his parents a ticket like they usually do.

In 2006, Sony released a PSP GPS System that would turn the PSP into a GPS device with offline maps. Although it lacked internet or traffic info, the “PSP-290 Go Explore” still works perfectly as of 2024.

man I love maps I love geography even spatial analysis and shit I think it's neat and can be valuable but sometimes I have sort of a master's tools crisis about it bc like. I'm in this GIS program and oh turns out that classmate's a cop. that other classmate works in national security. that classmate works for the air force. I look for GIS jobs and it's like "would you like to work for the CIA? would you like to work for Homeland Security? how about Consulting Companies A-Z who are also, incidentally, CIA or DHS contractors??" and no, I really would not like that. that's the last thing I would like. is there anyone out there who would pay me to use these skills to not be evil

"What if we call it Akina?"
My parents bought a robotic vacuum cleaner. They're getting on in age, so it's a good addition to the household. It and I met last week, so I asked what its name was. Turned out they'd just named it after our family name. Boring. "It needs a name," I said.
Today my dad says unprompted, "I think we need to give it a different name. Our last name is a bit stupid." My mum says it's fine, but I agree. I'm drawing a blank, though, until my dad suggests the perfect name.
"What if we call it Akina?"
I like to think he's been pondering on this for two weeks.
In the early 2000s, my parents bought a GPS system for the car. I dubbed her 'Akina'. She was named for an AI system in a space ship in the Yoko Tsuno comic album series that I'm still obsessed with twenty years later.
It stuck. When my parents were going anywhere new, we'd say, "Don't forget Akina." "Akina will guide you." "Where is Akina?" I was sad when new cars with built-in GPS systems replaced the old ones. I always kind of felt like she was my baby.
I've missed Akina. I'm glad she's back.
