One of the happiest, most exciting things about revisiting trc now is that back when I first read them I wanted to draw every scene but I was lacking the skills to.

And now I’m looking at every dog-eared page, every paragraph I highlighted with a grin on my face, because I can. Cars are no longer a scary thing to draw, I know exactly how I want the characters to look like, and more importantly I know what emotion I want a piece to convey and I feel confident I can convey it.

What a day!! 20 yo me would definitely be gobsmacked and I am living for it

Cause Food stamps should pay to FEED people. Not give them something raw they may not be able to cook. Idgaf if it's "unhealthy". It's better than starving and going without.

My family has to have food stamps to get food reliably because my father doesn't pay a lot of child/spousal support, my mom can't work (at least rn due to disabilities and limitations), and I'm trying to get a CBRS worker to help me transition into adulthood. We also have to save for court so we can ask to move should the opportunity arise.

We have very little income. Only paycheck we are getting is through our grandma (she lives with us).

Are some of the things we buy unhealthy? Yes. Is it a way to get food into our bodies? Also yes. Do we buy healthy things too? Yes.

So shut up and be glad you are financially stable.

(also y'all need to shut up with the "hand outs" thing. It makes you guys sound jealous and bitter. Why are you so upset about people getting help?)

Plant Baby SY AU Info Post

Hello! I realized that I drop a lot of lore of this AU in both the tags and asks that not everyone will see, so to make things easier I've decided to compile info into this post! (as well as some more bonus info that hasn't be talked about yet :3c) This will likely be updated as time goes on, so I will make sure to update the date of update on this post as well! This will probably be quite the ramble, so hope y'all enjoy the infodump <3

Introduction

To those who may be new to this au, plant baby sy au is a qijiu and bingyuan (potentially xiaobingyuan) au in which SJ!SQQ enlists the help of a spiritual peach tree to create Shen Yuan using Yue Qingyuan's blood and SQQ's own qi. Prior to this event, everything had proceeded as in canon (i.e Qiu household, Wu Yanzi, etc.). SY looks more like YQY due to the fact that his blood was used, but SY's spiritual energy is more similar to SQQ's due to his qi being used!

Qijiu will be very slowburn as those two have Many complicated feelings for each other. And lack the communication skills to clear Anything Up Ever <3

Peach blossoms are very much so used to represent SY in this AU as they have the meaning of renewal/rebirth (which relates to him for a multitudes of reasons :3c)

Currently, YQY is unaware that SY is his by blood. While he is not blind to notice how similar SY is to him, he is so deep in the guilt and self-hatred mindset to even consider that SQQ would want him to be apart of his child's creation. His current belief is that SQQ had a baby with someone else, and is saddened that SQQ didn't trust him with that information until he brought the baby to the sect.

MQF is the only one who seems to be very aware of SY's origins, and was a big support for SQQ in SY's early years.

Spiritual Energy (ft. demonic butterflies)

Due to the nature of SY's creation, SY has abundant spiritual energy (similar to that of the sun-dew mushroom bodies!). It has lead to him having excellent healing abilities (If he wasn't SQQ's son and therefore thoroughly claimed for Qing Jing, MQF would have snapped him up for his peak in a heartbeat). However, while SQQ is proud to have a spiritually strong son (even if his combat abilities aren't the best) it has lead to many fears of other cultivators and demons alike trying to capture SY to use as a human cauldron (It's the Wu Yanzi trauma 😔). Therefore he is Very protective of SY and rarely let's him leave the sect on night hunts if he himself is not present.

While SY resents this, he cannot deny that he tends to draw unwanted attention during said hunts. His energy practically being bait for demonic and spiritual beasts to hunt down. This is why SQQ absolutely forbade SY from participating in the Immortal Alliance Conference, not wanting him to be targeted by the vast amounts of beasts released in the gorge.

Speaking of SY attracting demonic creatures, SY primarily has three demonic butterflies that have followed him since childhood. They are harmless, and have sort of formed a symbiotic relationship with him. Their names are as follows (might be subject to change, but I just like the idea of them being named after flowers) :

Yuanweihua (“Iris”)-> ‘Repel evil; Spring’ -> SY’s main and biggest butterfly that can almost always be found on him somewhere. It's colors are purple, red and green.

Mudan (“Red Peony”)-> ‘Desired, fame wealth’ -> Most commonly following LBH due to both SY’s feelings for him (that he's hella oblivious about) but also his protagonist halo. It's colors are red and blue.

Yingshanhong ("Azalea")-> Longing for home -> Tends to follow those who SY considers family (i.e SQQ, YQY, NYY). It's colors are teal and gold.

Luo Binghe

As in canon, LBH goes to CQ to become a cultivator after his adopted mother's death. However, instead of how LBH was initially chosen in spite by SQQ, SY had accompanied SQQ to the disciple trials and chose LBH himself. Leading the two to become fast friends (much to SQQ's chagrin)

LBH instantly became enamored by SY, and while SY does return his feelings he is so very oblivious to the fact that he's actually in Love with LBH and that his feelings aren't just friendship feelings.

LBH loves everything about SY and can often be found indulging his various infodumps about the latest demonic plant or beast he's read about (which eventually helps LBH in the Abyss!)

By the time of the Immortal Alliance Conference, LBH formally approached SQQ about courting SY. SQQ is of course angered by this idea, but also knows that LBH is both talented and very devoted to his son. So he sets the challenge that LBH must win the conference if he wishes to gain his approval. A challenge LBH accepts readily (until everything goes wrong of course).

Now in the Abyss, LBH is doing everything he can to return to SY and give him a proper explanation of everything, including his feelings and his heritage (but you'll have to wait for future updates to see how that goes! ;p)

Gongyi Xiao

Originally, GYX was meant to have a more minor role in this au until he grabbed me by the throat during the planning process and made me include him more <3

GYX first met SY at the Immortal Alliance Conference. He would have normally been preparing to go inside the gorge with his other martial siblings. But, he was tasked by the Old Palace Master to "make connections" with the elusive son of Peak Lord Shen. GYX accepts this task readily, still being a lil' blind to HHP's corruption at this point.

GYX was Not immune to SY's wifebeam, and developed a bit of a puppy crush on him. Though he does respect that SY seems to already be claimed by LBH. (Most people outside of CQM assume LBH and SY are courting just by the way the interact with each other lmao).

GYX fell into the Abyss alongside LBH, only surviving due to LBH hastily feeding GYX his blood parasites under Meng Mo's instruction. Unfortunately, since this was LBH's first time using them and had to heal himself first, as he took the brunt of the fall, he was unable to heal the eye GYX injured in the fight against MBJ.

Shang Qinghua

Our beloved Airplane is here as well <3 His origins proceed as SVSSS canon but my god is he confused on what is happening anymore. Since when was SQQ supposed to have a child????!!

His System of course won't tell him shit and he's like 70% sure SY is also a transmigrator but so far his tests to see if that's true have failed spectacularly. Unfortunately because of this uncertainty, SQH is unable to tell SY that LBH isn't actually dead in the Abyss :(

To compensate for this, he collected the shards of Zheng Yang and made a pouch necklace for SY, which replaces the sword mound.

Warm Red Pavilion

As in canon, SQQ often visited the WRP in order to sleep peacefully. Once he had SY, this tendency increased as now not only did he feel unsafe, but also worried something would happen to SY as he slept. So since he was very young SY has been very doted upon by his brothel aunties.

They loved to play dress-up with him and have sleepovers. When he was young if SQQ and MQF were unable to look after him SQQ dropped him off with the jiejies. They helped teach him music!

Rumors

There are many rumors circulating both on CQM and off it of who SY's other parent is. Many speculate that SQQ had an illicit affair with a courtesan, due to his reputation. As always, SQQ doesn't do shit to clear up rumors, seeing it as 1. useless as people will choose to believe whatever fits their interests and 2. the less people know about SY's origins the better.

While SQQ won't confirm or deny rumors, SY as he's gotten older has taken a new approach by confirming or saying the wildest theories. Changing it up depending on who asks, equally muddying the waters of the rumor mill lol.
