Season 3 part 2 will be Ass. Let me Tell You Why.
Tumblr media
Cause in the end, Penelope, Lady Whistledown, the one who has left devastation in people’s lives will get all what she wants. The man that she wants, the attention that she wants, the family she always wanted to be(so envious of them she talked shit about them ), will get her best friend back, might have the heir for that dumbass Featherington plot line, might get the Queen’s pardon and above all else, will most likely not give up LW cause they made LW such an integral part of the show.(so in that case, she’ll be even more filthy rich)
And if we go by leaked spoilers, it is said that Colin will be mad at Penelope for like 1 episode until Kanthony talks some “sense” into him. So that just tells me Kanthony will be OOC because there’s no damn way Anthony would let that beast comment about his wife slide.
There are no stakes when it comes to this season cause we all know how it’s finna go down. If Penelope gets any type of consequences, then her very undeserved HEA is doomed so everything is going to have to go her way for the already idiotic plot to make some form of sense. It’s like the love triangle in part 1, what the hell was the point of Lord Debling when everyone and their ancestors knew Colin and Penelope were end game? So we can see Colin’s cringe angst? If we already know the answer to the love triangle, there’s no point. The “find you a husband” plot line was stupid as shit anyway, but it’s whatever now.
Ugh, then we have to sit through more awkward love scenes between asshat 1 and 2
Eloise threatening Penelope with her LW identity is going to amount to nothing cause we know Penelope isn’t gonna receive any comeuppance. Matter of fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they made Eloise apologize to Penelope for…🤷🏾‍♂️🤷(let’s apologize to the toxic friend for not dealing with their toxicity)
For Penelope to have a happy ending, she has to get away scot free and that’s what boils my blood. I hate in media and literature when a character goes around, creates chaos and receives nothing for it or just a slap on a wrist. I’ve noticed an increase in it lately too. Also, I’m tired of writers not severing their bias from their writing. I’ve been encountering many series lately where the writer(s) have favoritism towards a specific character and gives them the easy route, bends the world for them and pull punches just because they like them so much. It’s really aggravating cause you see everyone else getting put through the wringer and then you see the favored character walking through Candyland. It hurts the story, the character, and frankly makes you hate the character.
Everyone around Penelope is gonna act brain dead in order for Penelope to get what she wants and I’m not here for it. Even the general audience ain’t for it. The only people cheering this madness are the asylum patients called Polin fans with delusions that Penelope deserves the world.
I’m not even looking forward to Francesca and John’s story cause of the Poolin fecal matter I’ll have to swim through to get there. At this point, I’m might just watch spoilers of part 2 cause it’s not worth it.
P.S. Watch Cressida get the short end of the stick cause she’s the “bully” of the show and Penelope is the “victim”. Watch them break Creloise because of the “I don’t want you hanging around Eloise” subplot which will ultimately fuel Eloise and Penelope becoming friends again. Also, Penelope and Cressida competed for Lord Debling just for Penelope to go “sike” and marry Colin so she wasted Debling’s time and made Cressida feel like shit because she wasn’t chosen. P.S.S- Polins are huge ass hypocrites cause they ragged on Eloise being privileged and having “everything” but are silent about Penelope being privileged. By the end of this season, Penelope will basically have everything, even more so than Eloise, but sure, Penelope is definitely not privileged 😑. Penelope is privileged inside the world and outside by production, why are we denying this?

Summary: Hotch watched you get treated incorrectly time and time again by your poor choice in men. Over time, he begins to try and show you what you deserve.
Tumblr media
In the cool, dim light of the early morning, Aaron Hotchner walked into the BAU roundtable room, his footsteps quiet against the polished floor.
The team was already there-
Everyone but you gathered around the table, their voices a low murmur of concern. He paused at the door, observing them--
A rare moment of unguarded conversation among the agents.
Your name was circling the room. He knew his team wasn’t one who gossiped, per se. But this was different than workplace chatter; this seemed…this seemed important.
"Did you see her last night?" JJ asked, her voice tinged with worry. "Spencer found her crying in the parking lot.
Across the table, Spencer nodded, his youthful face more solemn than usual. "She was in her car. Just...sitting there. It was late."
Penelope shook her head, her vibrant accessories jangling softly with the movement. "That guy she's been seeing, the one who keeps popping in and out of her life? He stood her up again. I mean, who does that to someone as wonderful as her?"
Derek’s jaw tightened visibly. "We need to tell her to cut him loose. The guy's no good."
Emily leaned back in her chair, her expression thoughtful. "It's not our place to say who she should see, but it's tough watching her go through this."
Rossi, ever the sage, swirled the coffee in his cup before speaking. "The heart has reasons that reason knows nothing of, but it doesn’t make it any easier to watch someone you care about get hurt."
Hotch stepped into the room fully, the conversation pausing as all eyes turned to him. He moved to his usual seat, the chair's soft scrape punctuating the sudden silence.
"How is she this morning?" His voice was calm, but there was an undercurrent of concern that matched his team's.
No one seemed ready to answer. It was a telling silence, one that spoke volumes about their collective unease for your well-being.
Clearing his throat, Hotch folded his hands on the table, his gaze settling on each of his team members.
"We're a team, and we look out for each other. It's not just about being agents; it's about being there for one another as people." His eyes darkened with a quiet intensity. "We need to make sure she knows she's supported, not just as a colleague, but as a friend."
Just then, the door opened again, and you stepped in. There was a slight redness around your eyes, a testament to the previous night's tears, but you masked it well with a brave smile.
"Morning, everyone," you said, your voice steady despite the slight quiver you hoped no one noticed.
The room filled with choruses of "Morning," each agent offering you a smile, but their eyes were too knowing, too filled with empathy.
As the meeting proceeded, Hotch found himself watching you more often than usual.
You were the glue of the team--
Always brightening up the room.
Always making sure everyone else was okay.
It pained him to see that light dimmed, even just a fraction.
He made a mental note to check in with you later, privately, to offer a listening ear if you needed it.
Throughout the briefing, your contributions were as insightful as ever, but Hotch noticed the small things--
The way your smile didn’t quite reach your eyes.
How you were quieter than usual.
Less inclined to join in the lighter moments of banter.
When the meeting broke up, Hotch lingered, watching as you gathered your notes and prepared to head to your office.
He took a deep breath, steeling himself for the conversation ahead. It was not just about being a leader now; it was about being a friend and maybe--
Just maybe, something more.
In that quiet, somber room, as the early rays of sunlight began to filter through the blinds, Hotch realized just how deeply your well-being affected him.
The realization was sudden, like a shift in the air--
A silent acknowledgement of a burgeoning concern that felt a lot like the beginning of something far deeper.
Not even a week later, the office was nearly empty.
The hum of computers and the distant sound of night shift agents were the only accompaniment to the soft clacking of Hotch’s shoes against the polished floor as he prepared to leave for the evening.
It had been a long day, filled with the usual demands and stresses, but none of that seemed to matter now as he rounded the corner and stopped short.
There you were, pacing the bullpen in a dress that took his breath away--
A stunning array of shimmering fabric that cascaded down in elegant folds, catching the dim office light and throwing it back out in soft, glowing ripples.
It was unlike anything he had ever seen you wear; the dress made for a special occasion, its beauty stark against the backdrop of the BAU’s utilitarian surroundings.
Looking at it, it reminded him of your personality. A reflection of light on everyone around you. Made up of so many pieces--beautiful in itself, but for others to appreciate as well.
Your face, however, told a different story.
It was etched with disappointment, the hurt in your eyes stark and unguarded as you moved restlessly across the floor. Hotch’s concern deepened, his initial pause turning into a determined stride towards you.
You didn’t notice him at first, lost in your troubled thoughts. When you finally saw him, the surprise on your face quickly morphed into a strained smile.
"Oh, Hotch, I didn’t see you there."
"Clearly dressed for a special occasion," he commented softly, his voice carrying a note of concern. "You look...beautiful."
He meant it, but the compliment was tinged with…worry as he took in the full picture--
The meticulously done makeup, the curls in your hair falling just so, the perfume that seemed a touch too poignant for the empty office.
You chuckled weakly, the sound hollow.
"Was supposed to be a special night. I had a date, but..." Your voice trailed off, and you shrugged, a brittle edge to your movements. "He cancelled. Less than an hour ago. Guess it wasn't as special to him."
Hotch frowned, noting the weariness that seemed to seep through your attempt at humor.
"You shouldn’t have to feel this way," he said, stepping closer, his voice lowering. "You put so much into this, into everything you do. It's not right, him not seeing that."
Your smile faltered, and you looked away, a self-deprecating laugh escaping you. "Maybe I’m just too much, you know? Maybe it’s just... me--”
"No." Hotch said firmly, cutting through your words. His expression was stern, but his eyes were kind, a rare show of open frustration mixing with something softer. "It’s not you. It’s him. Anyone who fails to see what they have right in front of them doesn’t deserve it."
Your eyes met his, and for a moment, the bullpen seemed to hold its breath. The air between you was charged, filled with the unspoken thoughts and emotions swirling around.
"You deserve someone who sees you," Hotch continued, his voice emphatic--passionate even. "Not just the effort you put into one evening, but every day…the way you look out for everyone here, how you keep us…together. You deserve much more than last-minute cancellations and excuses."
The words seemed to hang in the air, heavy and sincere. You swallowed hard, the impact of his words slowly sinking in. The corners of your mouth twitched, a ghost of a genuine smile beginning to form. "Thank you, Hotch," you murmured, your voice thick with unshed tears. "I...I needed to hear that."
Hotch nodded, his posture relaxing slightly as he sensed the shift in your demeanor. "Anyone would be lucky to have you," he added, the truth of his statement clear in his steady gaze.
As the silence stretched between you, a palpable connection in the quiet of the almost deserted office, it was clear that something had shifted.
Not just in the night. But perhaps, just maybe--in the space that lay between personal heartache and the promise of something deeper, something real that was just beginning to take root in the dim light of the bullpen.
About a month had passed, and Hotch kept a close eye on you. He hated that not much had changed for you. He wanted to see you return to the office with a smile on your face one day.
That you’d share you met someone who charmed you and held space for you in a way you deserved.
Someone that treated you right.
The way he wishes he could tattoo it into your brain all of the ways he knows you should be treated. The way he wishes he could treat you that way--
Just to show you.
Or what he told himself when he began thinking about how he wouldn’t stand you up.
How he’d hold every door open for you.
How he’d be prompt and make sure you knew you could take his word.
Yet here you were.
The local bar was buzzing with the usual Friday night crowd, the atmosphere lively and the lights dimly lit, casting a warm, inviting glow over the small group from the BAU.
Laughter and chatter filled the air as the team, having wrapped up a particularly grueling set of cases, gathered around a large table cluttered with empty glasses and half-eaten appetizers.
Hotch, who usually opted out of such gatherings, found himself not only attending but also genuinely enjoying the camaraderie.
His eyes frequently searched you out, making sure you were handling the evening well.
As the night progressed and the drinks flowed more freely, the conversation deepened into personal territories. You, slightly more uninhibited from the alcohol, began to share more openly about your recent dating woes.
"And then," you laughed, though the humor didn't quite reach your eyes, "he just disappears. Poof! Like magic. One day, it's text after text, and then nothing. Like I made it all up in my head."
You laughed. It echoed. He watched, heart sinking. You were drifting. Away.
The team's laughter quieted down as they listened, their expressions a mixture of sympathy and discomfort. Rossi raised his eyebrows, shooting a look at Hotch, who was watching you intently.
Your smile faded as you continued, the alcohol loosening your tongue further. "I don't know, maybe it's just me. I dunno…Maybe I'm just...unlovable."
A heavy silence fell over the table, the word hanging in the air like a thick cloud.
The team exchanged awkward glances--
Clearly at a loss.
Hotch's jaw tightened as he saw the self-deprecation take a darker turn, his concern deepening.
"That's not true," Hotch finally said, his voice firm and commanding attention. "Being ghosted says more about his character than it does about your worth. You are... incredibly important, not just to anyone you date but to all of us here." His voice softened, "You light up every room you enter, and if someone can't see that, it's their loss, not yours."
The table went quiet, everyone looking between you and Hotch, sensing the weight of his words.
Your eyes welled up with tears--
The kindness in his voice breaking through the veneer of humor you had used as a shield all night.
"Excuse me," you muttered, quickly standing and making your way to the bar without meeting anyone’s eyes.
As you stood and made your way to the bar, the rest of the team exchanged knowing looks, their earlier conversation giving way to a shared understanding of what needed to happen next.
Derek caught Hotch's arm as he started to follow you. "Man, you see the way she lights up around you?" he said in a low voice, his gaze serious. "She deserves someone who's going to show up for her, really show her how she should be treated."
Emily chimed in, her expression earnest. "And not just show up, Hotch. You need to say it, too. She needs to hear how you feel about her. It’s obvious to all of us, and honestly, it’s been a long time coming."
Rossi, ever the sage, gave Hotch a firm pat on the back. "You’re a good man, Aaron. You both deserve a shot at happiness. Don’t let your chance slip by because you’re too cautious to take the next step."
Hotch looked between his friends, their faces reflecting a mix of encouragement and insistence.
The weight of their words settled over him, reinforcing what he already felt in his heart.
 He nodded, a resolve firming in his eyes as he turned to follow you to the bar.
"Thanks," he murmured, grateful for their support.
The team watched for a moment longer, satisfied with their intervention, before they started to gather their things, their subdued waves goodbye mingling with quiet hopes for what might develop between their stoic leader and the woman who had brought a new light to his eyes.
Hotch watched them leave before turning his attention back to you--
Now alone at the bar.
Throwing back another drink.
With a newfound determination, he was ready to take the advice of his team to heart and to make this evening a turning point--
Not just for tonight, but for all the days to come.
He approached quietly, taking the seat next to you. The bartender moved away to give you some privacy, sensing the shift in mood.
"You don’t have to try so hard to be okay all the time," Hotch said gently, his voice barely above the noise of the bar. "It’s alright to not be alright."
You turned to look at him, the dim light of the bar highlighting the vulnerability in your expression. "I just don’t want to be this person, Hotch. This...sad, pathetic person who gets left all the time."
"You are not pathetic," Hotch countered softly, his tone earnest. "You’re human. And being human means you feel things deeply. It’s one of the things...one of the many things that makes you so special."
Your eyes met his.
A mix of gratitude and sadness swirling within.
"Why are you so good to me?" you asked, a small, wistful smile playing on your lips.
"Because you deserve someone to be good to you," Hotch replied, his gaze steady. "And I'm here as long as you need."
The conversation paused as you both sat, the noise around you fading into a background hum.
Hotch’s offer hung in the air.
Sincere and simple.
A promise from a friend that felt like it could be the start of something more, something neither of you had expected but perhaps both needed.
You did not take much convincing to get home. Hotch watched your balance waver. Your eyes glassy. Your yawns. Your red-rimmed eyes.
The silence in the car was thick--
Only occasionally interrupted by the soft hum of the engine and the faint sound of passing traffic.
Hotch kept stealing glances at you. His concern evident in the crease of his brow and the tight set of his jaw.
You stared out the window, your reflection ghosting back at you, tinged with the glow of the streetlights.
Breaking the silence, your voice was soft but filled with a weariness that seemed too heavy for one person to bear.
"There was this guy I really liked," you began, your words slightly slurred from the drinks. "He always kept me on the back burner. I'd wait by the phone. Hoping he’d call. But he never did. I hate that I've turned into the girl I used to judge…the one who cares too much about people who don't care about her at all."
You paused, a bitter laugh escaping your lips as you continued.
"I’d give up anything just to love someone who loves me back. It feels like I've taken a back seat in everyone else's life because they've all found love. And me? I’m just... I'm so alone. It’s like this loneliness follows me into every room, no matter how many people are there."
Hotch listened, his expression somber, the usual reserve slowly melting away under the weight of your heartfelt confession.
After a moment, he spoke.
His voice low and filled with an unexpected vulnerability.
"I understand what you mean," he admitted. "After my marriage ended and Haley...after she died, I was thrown into a kind of loneliness I had never known. When you spend so much of your life with someone, you don’t realize how much of yourself is intertwined with theirs until they're gone."
He paused, choosing his words carefully.
"And you’re right, no matter how full other parts of your life are, nothing can truly fill the void that’s left by a lack of romance or intimacy. It’s a different kind of emptiness, one that seems to echo louder the quieter it gets."
Your head turned slowly to look at him, surprised not only by his openness but also by the resonance of his words with your own feelings.
There was a comfort in knowing you weren’t alone in your loneliness.
That someone as composed and self-assured as Hotch could understand such deep, personal pain.
"The hardest part," Hotch continued, his eyes briefly meeting yours before returning to the road, "is learning how to fill that void in a way that’s healthy, without losing yourself to it. And I see you trying to do that, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now."
The car pulled up to your place, the engine idling as you both sat in silence for a moment, letting the weight of the conversation settle.
"Thank you, Hotch," you finally said, your voice softer, tinged with gratitude and a newfound respect. "For understanding. For being here."
Hotch nodded. A gentle smile touching his lips. "Always," he assured you. "Let me walk you to the door. Just to make sure you're okay."
At your door, you turned to face Hotch--
And without a word, you wrapped your arms around him in a grateful hug.
It was more than a simple gesture of thanks; it was a release of some of the night’s accumulated tension and loneliness.
Hotch, caught slightly off guard, heitated for only a moment before his arms came around you, returning the embrace with a protective warmth
He could smell the faint mix of your perfume, now mingled with the sharp scent of alcohol, and it stirred something in him--
A concern deeper than the usual care he held for his team.
As he held you, his hand gently patting your back in comfort.
Hotch found himself wishing he could do more.
Wishing he could step inside. Make you a cup of coffee. And talk through the night until you felt better.
But he held back, acutely aware of the boundaries that his role as your superior and his professional integrity dictated.
As you finally pulled back, looking up at him with eyes that showed a flicker of something like relief and comfort, Hotch realized that his feelings were perhaps more complicated than he had admitted to himself.
There was something magnetic about you.
Something that drew him in, far beyond the simple need to protect a team member.
It was a pull he hadn’t expected, one he hadn’t felt in a very long time, and it left him momentarily unsure of his next words.
“You’re sure you’ll be okay?” he asked, his voice low, filled with genuine concern.
“Yes, thanks to you,” you replied, managing a small smile that seemed to brighten the dim hallway. “Really, Hotch, I can’t thank you enough for tonight.”
“Just doing my part,” Hotch said, trying to sound more casual than he felt. “But if you need anything, or just want to talk, you have my number.”
You nodded, and there was a lingering look, a silent acknowledgment of the bond that had deepened tonight, before you turned to open your door. “Goodnight, Hotch,” you said, stepping inside.
“Goodnight,” he replied, watching the door close gently behind you.
He stood there for a few more moments, lost in thought.
The night had revealed layers of both your vulnerabilities and strengths, and Hotch felt a renewed commitment to supporting you, not just as a leader but as someone who genuinely cared.
As he walked back to his car, the quiet of the night surrounding him, Hotch felt a mixture of worry and something akin to anticipation. It was clear now that his concern for you went beyond the professional; it was personal, and it was growing.
He hoped that would be the end of it. He wished it would.
He just wanted to see you happy.
Glowing from within like he knew you could and often did.
Hotch approached your desk, his steps deliberate, echoing softly in the nearly empty bullpen.
The rest of the team had already left for the day, leaving behind a quiet that seemed to magnify the frustration evident in your posture.
As he drew closer, he saw your face buried in your hands. Your shoulders tense.
The office was quiet. The clock ticked loud. Each second echoed. You sat, staring. Lost.
"What's wrong?" he asked, his tone laden with concern as he stopped beside your desk.
You lifted your head, your expression a mixture of bitterness and fatigue. "Guess," you said, voice tinged with a harsh laugh.
"A guy?" Hotch guessed, his brow furrowing as he watched your reaction.
"Yup," you replied bitterly. "Got a lovely message today. Apparently, I'm not pretty enough and not compatible enough for him. And oh, he couldn't possibly date someone who works for the FBI." The frustration in your voice grew with each word. "And to top it all off, I'm losing my reservation at this place that took ages to get into."
Hotch's expression shifted from concern to disbelief, then to a visible annoyance. "Where do you find these guys?" he asked, his tone sharp. Boys. He wanted to say. "I'd love to have a chance to talk to them, give them a piece of my mind."
Your eyes widened slightly, taken aback by his intensity.
Hotch's jaw was set, his eyes hard with indignation on your behalf.
After a moment, he softened slightly, gesturing to your things. "Collect your things," he instructed.
You stared at him, confusion etched across your face--
"What?"
"We’re going to that dinner reservation," Hotch stated firmly, as if it were the most natural decision in the world. "It’s important to you, and you deserve at least one night where someone can attempt to live up to what you deserve."
The sudden shift in the evening's plans left you momentarily speechless, your previous frustrations giving way to a surge of something else--
Surprise.
Perhaps tinged with relief.
You slowly began to gather your belongings, still processing his words.
"Hotch, I..." you started, unsure of how to express your gratitude or the flurry of emotions his gesture had sparked.
"No need to thank me," Hotch interrupted gently, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he saw the change in your demeanor. "Let’s just go have a good evening, okay? No expectations, no pressures. Just dinner. As friends."
The word 'friends' hung in the air, safe yet filled with unspoken possibilities.
As you followed him out of the office, your steps matched his in rhythm.
A silent acknowledgment of the shift in your relationship.
As they walked out of the BAU, Hotch's actions spoke volumes about the kind of evening he intended to provide.
He held every door open for you--
His movements graceful.
Assured.
A soft but firm hand on your back guiding you through the thresholds.
At the restaurant, he pulled out your chair, a gesture that might have seemed outdated to some, but from him, it felt respectful.
A nod to a gentler time.
A time he still lived in and was raising his son to live in.
Once seated, the conversation between you flowed effortlessly.
You spoke animatedly about the dishes, your favorites, and the memories associated with them, lighting up as you described the people woven throughout your life.
How highly you spoke of them and how important they were to you.
These memories that made you who you were.
Hotch watched you, a small, genuine smile playing on his lips, captivated by the light in your eyes and the passion in your voice.
As the evening progressed, Hotch found himself offering compliments, each more personal than might be usual for a boss.
“You have an incredible way of seeing beauty in simple things,” he remarked sincerely, watching as a blush crept up your cheeks.
It was cute. He’d never seen your cheeks turn that color pink before.
Sweet, even.
You seemed taken aback, almost shy, under the weight of his words. "I...thank you," you stuttered slightly, your smile bright but your eyes reflecting a hint of disbelief. "I-I’m not used to hearing that kind of thing."
Hotch's expression turned quizzical, his head tilting slightly. “Really? I find it hard to believe no one has ever told you that before. To me, you are so many things…”
Your eyes widened, and a vulnerable honesty shone through as you responded. "I've never been complimented like that. And from someone like you--Hotch,” You laughed, almost at yourself, “you’re... you’re attractive, smart, important. For you to see me like that, it’s... i-it’s everything. And hard to believe."
Hotch paused, the weight of your words settling between them. His brow furrowed slightly, not in frustration, but in a thoughtful reassessment of how he had come to view you--
Not just as a subordinate or a friend, but as someone deeply impressive in your own right.
Someone he cared for more than just a team member or friend.
Something so much more, he’d realized.
“You should believe it because it’s true,” he said earnestly. “And I’d tell you more often if you’d let me.”
The air around you seemed to charge with a new energy, a mixture of surprise, anticipation, and a burgeoning realization of the mutual respect and admiration that might be blossoming into something more.
The way Hotch looked at you in that moment--
With a profound seriousness tinged with warmth.
It made your heart flutter in a way that no hollow compliment from anyone else ever could.
Dinner continued under this new, uncharted atmosphere, each of you navigating this subtle shift in your dynamic, exploring the boundaries of a relationship that was, perhaps, no longer just professional.
As the night drew on, the conversation deepened, not just into personal likes and aspirations but into what made each of you the person sitting at that table.
As Hotch drove you back to the BAU parking lot after what had unexpectedly turned into one of the most memorable evenings of your both of your lives.
The night air felt charged with a new, electric energy.
He had been the perfect gentleman throughout the night, insisting on paying for dinner and ensuring every part of the evening felt speciall.
Standing beside your car under the soft glow of the parking lot lights, you turned to him, your heart full of gratitude. "Thank you, Hotch. This was...this was the best not-date, date ever," you said, the words not quite sufficient to express the depth of your feelings.
Hotch smiled, a hint of something more serious in his gaze. "It can be considered an actual date, if you want...or I could plan one that could be our actual first date, if that would be something you’d be interested in," he proposed, watching your reaction closely.
Your expression shifted to one of disbelief, a mix of joy and astonishment dancing in your eyes. "Y-You...would want to go on a real date with me? But look at you? You're handsome, sexy, smart, experienced... and I'm just me?"
Hotch shook his head, his expression softening with a warmth that made your heart skip a beat. "I can’t believe you don’t see what I see," he said earnestly. "You are incredible, truly. You’re beautiful, smart, and absolutely wonderful. I so lucky if you’d have me."
The words washed over you, stirring a mix of emotions so intense they nearly overwhelmed you. "This feels too good to be true, like a dream," you murmured, the vulnerability in your voice mirrored in your eyes.
Like he said the words you’d been waiting for…for so long.
Hotch stepped closer, his voice dropping to a tender murmur. "Honey, this isn’t a dream. This is real, all of it," he assured you, his call to affection so genuine it carved a warm path straight to your heart.
The air between you had thickened, the kind that could change the course of a life
You felt the intensity of his gaze, the palpable connection sparking between you, and in a moment of need to ensure this wasn't a figment of your imagination, you blurted out, "Pinch me, I must be dreaming."
Hotch chuckled softly, his eyes alight with affection and amusement. "I’ll do you one better," he said, and before you could respond, he leaned in.
His lips met yours in a kiss that sent sparks flying through every nerve in your body.
A kiss so profound and filled with emotion it felt as though everything but the two of you had melted away.
A kiss that put all other attempts from others before to shame.
As you kissed under the soft lights of the BAU parking lot, it was as if the world had come to a standstill, the only sound being your combined breaths and the faint rustle of the night wind.
It was the kind of kiss that marked the beginning of something new and beautiful.
A moment neither of you would ever forget—
The world seemed to realign itself slowly as you both pulled apart.
Breathless.
The air was still thick with the electricity of the moment, and the soft glow of the parking lot lights cast a gentle halo around you.
He gazed down at you, his eyes searching yours for a reaction, a sign of how you felt after such a profound connection.
For a few heartbeats, neither of you spoke.
You were both caught in the gravity of what had just happened.
The kiss lingering like a promise between you.
Finally, Hotch broke the silence, his voice gentle, tinged with hope.
"Was that better than a pinch?" he asked, a tentative smile playing on his lips.
You couldn't help but laugh softly, the sound light and filled with the fluttering of a thousand tiny butterflies in your stomach.
"Much better," you admitted, your voice a whisper as you dared to meet his eyes again. "Hotch, I...I didn't expect this. A-Any of this."
Hotch's smile grew warmer, his hand reaching up to gently tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear, his touch lingering just a moment longer than necessary. "Neither did I," he confessed. "But I'm glad it happened. You're...you're more amazing than you realize. And I want to explore this, explore us, if you're willing."
The sincerity in his voice, the earnestness of his gaze, it all made your heart swell even as a sliver of uncertainty lingered.
"Are you sure? I mean, you're you, and I'm...well, I'm just me. Are we really good for each other?"
Hotch’s expression grew serious, his thumb softly caressing your cheek. "You are not 'just' anything," he said firmly. "You are incredible, and yes, I am sure. More than I've been about anything in a long time. I admire you, respect you, and I am drawn to you. I hope to make up for all those who failed so miserably at trying to hold something as special as you.”
His words, so full of conviction and depth, washed away the last of your doubts.
"O-Okay," you whispered, a smile breaking through your initial apprehension.
As you both lingered by your car, neither of you in a rush to end the night, the conversation drifted to lighter topics--
Plans for your next outing. Favorite movies, books, the comfortable chatter marking the ease that had always existed between you, now deepened by the new, flourishing intimacy.
Finally, with a last, lingering look, Hotch said goodnight, promising to call you tomorrow.
As you watched him walk away, his figure receding into the night, you felt a warmth spreading through you, a mix of excitement and peace, the night’s surprises leaving you eager for what the future might hold.
And for Hotch, he knew he had a 1 in a million chance of a lifetime to prove to you over and over again what you deserved. He never wanted to see the light in you dim again. If anything, he wanted to be the one to help you burn brighter.

Not Of The Imagination
Tumblr media
Summary: Spencer claims he has a girlfriend. Derek does not believe him at all.
Word Count: 1,614
Warnings: fluff, a bit OOC Derek
Derek Morgan is a ladies man. He knows how to talk to women, charm them into a flustered mess and get a number from them with ease. His charm is a weapon, something he knows how to use better than his gun.
Spencer Reid is not a ladies man. He rambles people away and becomes flustered so easily that people think his skin tone is red.
Derek Morgan is a charmer. Spencer Reid is the charmed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday afternoon. Everyone was ready to go home and spend the weekend doing whatever they wanted. Weekend plans were the topic of conversation at the moment with the bullpen attendees.
“So pretty boy, where are you doing this weekend?” Morgan asked. A teasing smile playing on his lips. Derek Morgan wasn’t a bully. He was anything but a bully, however, he was a brother. And brothers are known to tease their little siblings to no end. And Spencer was lucky enough to become Derek’s little brother.
 “There’s this Korean Film festival happening throughout the next week. All foods, music and movies will be played in korean. Which is exciting since my girlfriend had wanted to brush up on her language skills and I thought this would be a great surprise for her.” Spencer missed the look of surprise on his friends faces when the word ‘girlfriend’ had left his mouth. Especially Morgan’s face.
“Girlfriend?” Emily questioned softly. She was still a bit new to the team, but this was the first time a girlfriend was mentioned, especially attached to Spencer’s name.
“Wait what! Spencer, you have a girlfriend?” Derek questioned in disbelief. It’s not like he didn’t think that Spencer couldn’t get a girlfriend, but it’s still a complete shock that the shy, can’t talk to college kids his age, stuttering mess actually has a girlfriend.
“Yeah, Her name’s Y/n. We’ve actually been dating for about 3 years now.” The goofy grin that broke out onto Spencer’s face was convincing enough for the women. But apparently not enough for Derek.
“Really?” Spencer could hear the disbelief in Derek’s voice. He knew that the proclaimed ladies man, didn’t believe that he ‘scored’. But Spencer really didn’t care if he believed him or not.
He still had you at the end of the day, that’s all that mattered to him.
“Okay, what’s her last name?” Morgan asked.
“L/n.” Spencer answered without hesitation. He had a feeling that some of the asked questions are going to be the same that his mother asked him when he confessed that he was seeing someone.
Derek nodded, trying to look convinced. “What’s her-”
Before he even had the chance to finish his next question Spencer beat him to it. “She’s working as a barista at the moment because she’s going back to school to be a teacher. We met when we were 20 and started dating at 22. She’s kind and patient. She also really loves me and we are talking about moving in together after she graduates with her masters.”
The small group was stunned at the flood of information. Emily, JJ and Penelope all began gushing about his girlfriend, happy that their resident genius had found someone that is making him happy.
Derek, happy for his brother, still didn’t believe him. The girl sounded perfect for him, too perfect. Almost like he had conjured her up.
“Do you have a picture of her?” Penelope was the first to ask.
“No, sadly. All the pictures we have together are taken on her phone and they don’t transfer well when she sends them to me.” Spencer explained. The women deflated a bit hearing his explanation.
“How convenient.” Morgan muttered. Penelope was the one who heard him. She snapped her head in his direction, fixing him with a glare. Derek only held his hands up in mock surrender.
The group slowly began to disperse when paperwork began to pile up on each of their respective desks. The new shift of conversation began to fizzle out. Everyone now began to focus on the important work ahead of them before they could go home at 6.
Except for Derek Morgan. The new revelation, still fresh in his brain. The Spencer Reid, the boy genius that stutters when given a simple compliment, has a girlfriend.
He has to see it to believe it at that point.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Derek didn’t get his confirmation until 3 months later. When he had almost forgotten that Spencer had claimed he had a girlfriend.
A beautiful h/c had walked into the bullpen with a visitor badge clipped to her turtleneck sweater. She had a drink carrier in on hand and a plastic bag in the other.
She stood near the glass doors, clearly looking for someone. A small frown appeared on her lips as the object of her delivery seemed to not be in the room.
Morgan saw the contemplation on her face whether she was on the right floor or not. She took a step back towards the double glass doors, before Derek got up to give a helping hand.
He calmly approached the pretty woman before calling out to her, “Excuse me miss, is there something you need help with.”
The h/c turned at his voice, Derek could see slight recognition within her eyes. A small smile graced her lips before she spoke, “You must be Derek Morgan.”
The named man furrowed his eyebrows. He had never met this woman before in his life, even if he had Derek would’ve remembered her face.
The woman saw the confusion on his face as well as the slight guard he put up after she said his name. The h/c’s realization kicked in and her panic set in. “Oh no, I’m not dangerous. My boyfriend had told me a lot about you. Even showed me a photo of you. Well not of you but a group picture and pointed you out. And I’ve always been good at remembering faces. So when I saw you I just knew that you were Derek Morgan. Again I’m not dangerous.”
Her lengthy explanation reminded him of the resident genius that was approaching the two of them.
Spencer was very confused when he saw Derek Morgan speaking with his girlfriend of 3 years. He was even more confused when he saw her panicked expression and the slight wave of her hands as she tried to explain something.
Spencer pulled open the glass doors to the bullpen and turned towards the interesting conversation that was happening. He didn’t get much of it, just the last bit where Y/n said ‘I’m not dangerous’.
“What’s going on here?” The brunette male asked. He looked between his favorite people waiting for one of them to answer.
“Oh, hello love. I was just coming over to see if you wanted to have lunch with me. I had a half day at work for class but then my professor canceled class last minute because he wasn’t feeling well.” Y/n had gestured to the food in her arms at the mention of lunch.
She had swung by their favorite Thai place. Having not been there for a few weeks because of Spencer’s busy schedule and Y/n’s guilt for eating it without him. Spencer smiled widely at the offer of food and his lover for his break.
“I’d love to honey. We can eat at my desk if you’d like.” Spencer offered. Grabbing the drinks from her to make the load easier to carry.
Derek watched the exchange between them. Only putting everything together when you call Spencer ‘love’.
“Holy shit she’s real.” He had meant to say it in his head. But the statement slipped out, causing the two of you to look at him with confusion.
“You didn’t think she was real?” Spencer asked.
“Well, no. Just that she sounded really perfect for you so I had a hard time believing it at first. But then I met her and she literally reminded me of you.” Derek tried to explain but it didn’t sound all too convincing.
Spencer and Y/n looked at each other before laughing. Y/n had just met Derek and he thought she was someone that Spencer made up. Their giggles made Derek feel stupid.
And that’s something he doesn’t feel often (not counting the times Spencer made him feel stupid).
Y/n had calmed down first before holding out her free hand for Derek to shake, “Hi, my name is Y/n L/n. I’m going back to school to be a teacher but currently I’m working as a barista. I’ve been told I’m patient and kind. Spencer and I have been dating since we were 22 but we met when we were 20.”
Y/n then spared a glance at Spencer before asking, “Same intro you gave him right?”
Spencer nodded with a smile before kissing the crown of her head, “Yep same one you gave to my mom.”
Derek looked between the young couple content on the evidence presented to him. Derek took Y/n’s hand and shook it giving a greeting of his own, “It’s nice to meet you Y/n. I’m Derek Morgan and I’ve become Spencer’s big brother. So don’t you go breaking his heart.”
The toothy smile was answer enough, but Y/n couldn’t resist her response, “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
Spencer had excused the two of them to go eat lunch at his desk. Spencer was happy that his lives were starting to blend together.
He’s especially glad that his favorite people were able to meet each other once and for all. Even though one of them thought the other was a figment of his imagination.

Spencer Reid x Reader.
Words: 1182
Warnings: Suggestive. Mentions of Sugar daddy. OOC Reid.
Summary: The team decided to go to Spencer's for take away and find out about his girlfriend.
»»———-  ———-««
The BAU had finished for the week, which means…yep a long Friday full of paperwork from the usual case they had finished yesterday. A normal case, well as normal as a murder case could be. Relatively smooth and simple, bodies in different doll outfits lead to a woman who had a a bad childhood and was using the victims as dolls. So everyone was tired, even Rossi looking worn out.
Spencer Reid, wearing a light grey shirt, top button undone, a black tie with a little embroidery that seemed to be his new favourite and some trousers, grabbing his dark grey jumper was just ready and excited to go home to see her. She was not a secret, but Spencer had also failed to mention his girlfriend of a year and a half..to anyone. He had no reason to. He was ready to leave until Derek came up to him.
“Take away at your house today wonder boy” Derek states, not a question but also not a demand…and as usual Spencer is too awkward to say no, especially when the team seems to perk up at the idea and is excited about it.
Penelope squeals, “Yes! Oh, we haven't been to Spencer’s in aaggeeees. Brilliant idea Chocolate Thunder”.
"I could definitely go for a Chinese," Emily states nodding.
"Wills got the kids so I'm happy to come," JJ adds already grabbing her coat.
That's how the whole BAU team ended up on the sofa and chairs in Spencer's apartment. Hotch and Rossi instantly took the two-seater undoing some shirt buttons to relax. Derek, Penelope and Luke on the three-seater. JJ and Emily sit on the armchairs all chatting and making themselves at home. Spencer stands in the half-joint kitchen, shirt sleeves rolled up and he turns to the cupboard about to get drinks for them as they wait for the takeaway…
But the front door opens, and Y/n walks in from her classes, tired but happy to be home. She takes her shoes off at the door and places her bag on the kitchen counter not looking towards the couches or chairs that joins the kitchen she walks up towards Spencer, oblivious. The now silent BAU team looked confused, Derek slightly amused.
“You” Y/n starts walking towards Spencer with a big grin, “Are a genius”. Her smile is infectious and one Spencer loves. Spencer's focus is on her now and only her as he chuckles slightly, the team are surprised by the look on Spencer's face, affectionate caring and amused. She gains all of his attention, but he forgets to mention they’re not alone as Y/N wraps her wool scarf around his neck.
“Honestly, a Genius,” she smiles, emphasizing the word whilst admiring him.
“I am aware of that, but do care to elaborate love?” Spencer asks amused, his eyes flick down to the scarf about to comment but Y/n does before he can.
“What? I think it suits you” She bites her lip. “Well, okay,  maybe not like this… But if it was in a more Sherlock way…”
She adjusts the scarf, folding it in half then wrapping it around his neck and threading the end through the loop, nodding at her handiwork, proud of herself clearly the two are comfortable around each other it wouldn't take a profiler to notice.
“That's not what I was going to say, '' Spencer commented looking at her, his brain noting her cute expressions.
“Oh right…Well, I got my test results back.”
“Really?” his face lights up, curious, “What did you get?”
Y/n pulls herself up and sits on the kitchen counter, her back facing the on-looking strangers. “On what?” she asks with a teasing smirk.
“Results Y/n, what are your results,”
“Oh see that depends on what you are asking about”
He shakes his head, and a little stern he says “All of them princess”.
With a faint blushing on her cheeks, she pretends to think, “Hmmm let’s see… Practical assessment Distinction, Witten assessment pass, pregnancy negative and the Oral assessment distinction”.
Spencer gives her a look.
“What you said is all of my results, that's all of them.” she chuckles.
“Well good job I'm very proud of you” he says, chuckling, shaking his head a little but is cut off by her stomach growling. His face fills with concern “Did you buy food today?”
“With what money? I'm on my apprenticeship wage, I looked in my account today and I have £32.48. I'm two days away from standing on the corner of my street”
Spence rolls his eyes at her dramatic comments.
“You know what I need..” she asks eyes lighting up a little.
“What?” Spencer asks seriously, missing the playfulness in her tone, removing the scarf from his neck, gently and neatly folding the scarf in his large hands and placing it on the counter by Y/n’s legs.
“A sugar daddy” Her face is relaxed and serious even though she's joking, and she gives a small grin.
He shakes his head chuckling again to himself “You do not need a sugar daddy”
“Oh right because I've already got one” Y/n nods smiling as if it's obvious.
“Hmm, you do, do you?” He raises an eyebrow crossing his arms in front of his chest, his work shirt tightening his body.
“Yeah you,” she states with an unspoken, duh.
Derek has to fight a laugh.
“I'm not your sugar daddy” The sternness in his voice and the towering position over Y/n isn’t supporting his statement.
“Hmmm, are you sure about that?” Y/n has a bratty smile on her face.
“Definitely,” Spencer replies, his tone not showing any amusement.
“Spence, define sugar daddy.”
“Well the Oxford dictionary defines it as a well-to-do usually older man who supports or spends lavishly on a mistress girlfriend or boyfriend,” he states factually not clocking her plan.
Smlining as her plans works, “Exactly, you are even a little older than me”
“I don’t…” Spencer starts but is cut off by the look on Y/n’s face.
“Well technically”
Reid blushes
She giggled as she looked past him to the side, “Oh you got me more sodas?”
“Sure did, oh by the way” he goes to his coat that's hanging on the hook getting a small box from the pocket and tosses it her way. “It's a well done for all your studying and tests and passing your apprenticeship, I saw it and thought you would like it.”
Opening it she sees it's a beautiful ring, her favourite metal and in a tiara shape.
“Spencer, oh wow, I love it…you shouldn't have you are the reason I passed. All those study sessions and notes and prepping”
“I wanted to” he walked over, taking the ring out of the box and sliding it on her pointer finger, perfect fit. “And I knew you would like it”
“Not a sugar daddy my arse” she mumbles.
“Quiet,” he says a little dominance coming out as he kisses her lips, deepening until a certain Aaron Hotchner clears his throat, causing her to freeze and Spencer to pull back, “Oh right, we have guests”
Knowing who it would be she hides her bright red face into Spencer's chest.

What’s Going On Here?
Tumblr media
Pairing: Poly!BAU (Season 1 Team + Emily) x Reader
Summary: You join the BAU and immediately notice something a little…strange.
A/N:Fair warning that this is an extremely self indulgent fic and the characters are a little ooc because of it.I also wrote it in a headcanon format because I didn’t know how to go about it an a regular format…I apologize for this mess in advance.
̽𖧧 ָ࣪ ̽𖧧 ָ࣪ ̽𖧧 ָ࣪ ̽𖧧 ࣪
A new face never goes unnoticed in the BAU for long,especially during a slow period where no new cases are coming in.
You just so happen to join during one of them.The team was grateful for the break,but they were all bored out of their minds and you were the most excitement that they had had all week.
You were greeted very warmly,everyone (except for Reid) offering their hand for a quick shake when Gideon and Hotch first introduced you.You had everyone’s undivided attention and,frankly,it was a little overwhelming.
Not long after you joined,cases started to pile in again.
You immediately proved yourself to be very useful during discussions and on the field,therefore quickly earning respect from your colleagues.
All in all,you were fitting into the team very well…for the most part.
It was obvious that the team had formed a very strong bond and,despite feeling a little left out at times , you understood that it’d take a minute for you to become part of that bond.
However…there was more to it than that.
It was the way they would get so emotional and their decision making would become so irrational when one of the others were compromised.
It was the way any time they would brush past each other,they’d lean into the touch just the slightest bit.
It was the mean and unwelcoming look they gave any intruder that flirted with one of them while working a case or just having a night out.
It was the way they smiled at each other.Sometimes coy sometimes suggestive,but almost always flirtatiously.
You really didn’t mean to jump to any conclusions.Maybe they were just really good friends.Maybe they all were just flirts and physically affectionate by nature.
But if being a behavioral analyst made you good at anything, it was studying people.And your studies show that there was something not entirely platonic going on between these people.
The only exception was Gideon.He didn’t look like an outsider by any means,but you were pretty sure that he wasn’t involved in whatever was going on.
As soon as you came to your conclusion,you tried to push it into the depths of your mind as to not think about it.
Because if they haven’t outright said anything to you about it after over half a year,it obviously wasn’t something they felt comfortable with sharing.
But they were making it so hard!
How were you suppose to ignore the protective,almost possessive hand that Aaron would put on the back of whoever was closest to him when the team would go out for drinks at night?
Or the way Emily would look away annoyed every time Derek would have to flirt with a potential suspect to get something out of them?(At first you thought it was because she thought it was unprofessional,but that was proven to not be the case when Derek would have to subtly comfort her afterwards.)
And were you just suppose to act like you didn’t notice Spencer’s puffy lips and flustered face when he walked out of Penelope’s office in a hurry??
Despite all of this, nothing confirmed your suspicions more than your one year anniversary celebration.
You genuinely didn’t even plan on mentioning it,was completely ready to go about the day like any other day.
Until Penelope and Elle invited you to a little sleepover.Neither of them mentioned the anniversary in the invitation,so you figured that they didn’t know about it and just wanted to hang out.
That is,until you walked into Elle’s house and was met with the entire team.
They yelled out ”Surprise!” with big,excited smiles on their faces and you couldn’t help but tear up at the sentiment.
They teased you lightheartedly,pulled you in for a group hug,and the party officially began.
You were having a great time the entire night and as the night went by…the mood began to shift.
Of course the team would be more comfortable and let loose outside of the office…but this wasn’t how you expected them to do that.
Emily and Aaron were sitting over on the couch talking in hushed voices as Emily softly played with the hair at the nape of his neck.
Derek had his arms wrapped around Penelope’s middle with his head on her shoulder as she put the finishing touches on one of the desserts.
And Elle and JJ sat on either side of Spencer,both with one leg draped over his own as they showed him Tiktoks that he didn’t understand.
You had been talking to Jason when you started to take all of this in and the older man realized you had gone quiet.He waved a hand infront of your face,the sudden movement startling you a bit.
“Y/N,sweetheart,is everything alright?”
You managed to get out an “I just need some fresh air.” before quickly making your way through the front door.
You had your suspicions from the get-go,but having it basically confirmed not verbally but physically right in front of you,it was overwhelming to say the least.
You tried your best to not look like you were freaking out.After a couple minutes outside you smoothed out your clothes,took a deep breath,and headed back inside.
The team asked if you were alright once you made it back in.You dismissed their worries,telling them you had just gotten a little hot,but it was obvious that they weren’t buying it.
The night continued on for an hour or so anyway.You,Penelope,and Elle herded the rest of the team out with goodbye hugs and kisses,throwing in a “drive safely!” for good measure.
The three of you were pooped to say the least,but you cleaned up a bit and put on a random movie anyway.
You all were asleep before the beginning credits could finish.
The next morning, you all headed back to the office.
The morning was going pretty normally,everyone catching up on paperwork in the bullpen as they waited for JJ to get ready to brief them.
JJ was eventually ready for everyone,therefore rounding everyone up into the conference room.
Once everyone was seated, JJ standing at her usual place by the Promethean board,Aaron was the last to join.As he did so,he closed the door and locked it.You found it odd,but otherwise didn’t question it.
What you did question was everyone’s nervous behavior.Spencer was fidgeting more than usual and everyone kept glancing at each other,like they were expecting the other to say something first.
The suspense was killing you.
“Alright guys,what’s going on?You’re making me nervous.” An anxious little giggle slipping out further proving your point.You also took a second to look around and realized Jason wasn’t at the table. “And where’s Jason?”
“Jason is still in his office,he’ll join us when we’re done.” Aaron,always being the man in charge,speaks up.
“With…the briefing?” You asked,genuinely confused about the entire situation.
“With talking to you.” Penelope spoke up next, nervously fidgeting with one of her silly pens.
“To me?What about?” Oh,you had a feeling what is was about.You just needed to hear them say it.
“Y/N,in the past year you have not only proven yourself to be a very valuable part of the team but has also wiggled your way into our little family.We care about you very much and we trust you…which is why we’re comfortable with sharing with you what we’re about to…” Aaron started the explanation,but looked to Derek to say the most crucial part.
“To put it plainly,everyone in this room is in a relationship with each other.Not as an everyone is paired off in couples or we’re a group of swingers-no we’re all in big relationship.”
You couldn’t even began to think of a word that would properly describe how you were feeling in that very moment.
Flabbergasted and discombobulated were both pretty close though.
“…What?!” Was your initial reaction.It must have come off worse than you meant it to because everyone retreated into themselves a bit.
“I’m sorry,I didn’t mean for it to come out that way.I’m just…shocked?Like,I had my suspicions,but being right about them?Woah.”
Your astonishment at the end of your explanation made everyone chuckle,finally relieving the tension in the room.
“Do you…have any questions for us?” Spencer asks,feeling a little more confident now that he knows your opinion on the matter.
“A few.But I think my main one is…how?”
“With lots of confusion,sexual tension,fooling around,and finally confessions.” Elle stated bluntly.
“Elle!” Emily scolded her significant other lightly.
“Well am I wrong?!” This got another laugh from everyone,you included.
“As fun as all of this has been,I do have a case to brief.I’m gonna go ahead and call in Gideon.”

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐌.
in which you and spencer are horny for each other, and in a pool.
request: ummmm i swear that if u don’t write something like this!! i will be very mad at u.
a/n: ooc!spencer because he actually sleeps at night, secretboyfriend!spencer, age gap relationship, smut in a swimming pool and semi-public sex (🤪).
Tumblr media
“i want all of you to take a good night sleep” emily ordered, handing out the room keys to pairs of two. tara and jj, luke and simmons, rossi and spencer, emily and me.
an hour time skip and you were laying on your bed, eyes wide open. you turned on your side, using your pillow to cover your ears from emily’s light snoring.
in that istant you gave up on a night of dreams. you got up, put on a random pair of trousers and tied a sweater around your hips. you took the keys and closed the door as slowly and soundlessly as possible.
for a second you considered knocking lightly at spencer’s door, but rossi still being possibly up could have been a problem. and everyone know the love he had for gossip — a subtler penelope garcia, basically.
so you headed to the elevator and even before you could call it, the doors opened to reveal the person you were thinking about.
“what are you doing still up?” spencer asked, walking towards you to cup your cheeks. you felt your muscle relax, melting under his touch.
“couldn’t sleep”.
he pulled you closer, one hand over your lower back and the other one in your hair. you hugged him tight, sinking in his chest.
“wanna take a bath with me?” he whispered over your hair. you frown.
“im pretty sure one of our roomie could and will wake up”.
“there’s a swimming pool” you look up, mildly surprise “i was surprised too, this hotel must have costed quite a bit to the bureau”.
you didn’t have a bikini in your go-to bag, but you didn’t care much. you and spencer had already been physical for a few months, therefore showing skin wouldn’t be a problem, the opposite of it, actually.
you knew he didn’t pack a costume either.
so, five minutes later, you were both sitting on the edge of the pool, ready to get in.
“should we take our clothes off?” he asked, scratching his neck. you giggled at the controversy of the scene: a nearly forty years old men getting shy on a mid twenties girl. instead of answering you just took your shirt off, reviling the green bra you were wearing — extremely lacy and see-through, except for the nipples that were covered by a thicker pattern.
spencer was quick to follow you and after taking off his shirt, he unbuckle his belt and your eyes immediately shot up to look at his underwear, under which he was visibile already getting hard. you pressed your lips together to hide a smile.
you looked at his face. the only light source were the few garden lamps scattered on the perimeter of the pool making a calming penumbra all over you, in which you could see his eyes glossing at the image of his lips on every centimeter of your body, now and then focusing alone on your breast, almost drooling from foretaste. goosebumps covered your body.
now just with your panties and bra on, you closed the few inches between the two of you, longing for each other. the kiss — all the once that had been before and the once that were yet to happen — was the remembrance of the seal of loyalty, empathy and affection confesses by each touch, each staring, each laugh that they shared.
step by step you got closer to the stairs that lead to the pool. the water was soothing your mind and soul, each wave created by your moving bodies hugged you.
the hotel was dead silent, so when a door was heavily closed both of you heard it. you moved away from each other, panic written on both of your faces. the steps were coming closer and closer, so you had to act fast in case it was not an old lady with some sleep disorder taking a night walk and you dove in the water, back touching the edge of the pool, while your nose was basically touching his groin.
he was hard as a rock.
he moved closer, probably to look like he was actually just chilling near the edge of the swimming pool, but he acted so quickly that you hadn't had the time to turn your head, which caused your lips to touch him.
he instinctively tried to move away, but the twitch of his dick had been so visible that you felt the most primal need to do something about it.
still completely underwater, you started touching him, firstly just with your hands to caress him and secondly with your mouth, to leave a trace of kisses from the base to the tip, then switch to the tongue.
the combination of lack of inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide was staring to make you fell dizzy. your vision was starting to blur when spencer took you by the hips and helped you came up from the water.
you held tight to his shoulders, but before you could have filled your lungs with air, he placed an hand over your month and slid into you, without a single word or a warning.
“is this what you want, little temptress” he groaned in your ear “to be fucked were everyone could see us?”. you closed your eyes, taken aback by this sudden pleasure spreading over your body.
as he moved you felt the edge of the pool scratch your back and to held back your moans you had to bit his hand, which only made him move harder inside you in complete ecstasy.
you felt your body burning like the nucleus of a star, ready to orgasm. when you did, your body tensed up so tightly that spencer came into you, biting your neck to stop himself from waking up the whole hotel.
energy-drained, spencer collapsed on you.

This is a mess
I wrote a fic about Percy Weasley coming out and like I said above, it’s kinda a mess.......👉🏼👈🏼 it’s really chaotic but lots of people like chaotic stuff right?! let’s just hope
anyway, do whatever u want with this and yeah!
warning: percy became a bit ooc and charlie became trans so she is now charlise <3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Percy Weasley was very nervous. Very nervous indeed. He was going to be coming out to his family. His loving but super chaotic family.
“W-What if they think I’m a-abnormal Ollie? Or w-worse than t-that?” Percy stutters out to his boyfriend, Oliver Wood, otherwise known as the keeper of Puddlemere United.
“They won’t darling. They love you,” comforted Oliver, “Besides, hasn’t Ron come out as bisexual, and isn’t Charlie, Charlise now?”
“B-but, I wasn’t there for them,” replies Percy ashamedly, “I left them when they needed me the most, and Fred died. I don’t deserve it!”
“Percival Ignatius Weasley, you are a beautiful, kind, smart person and you, like everyone else, deserve to be happy. Everyone makes mistakes! The thing that matters is you apologized! You came back!” Oliver reassures.
“Sorry, I’m just freaking out, Oll,” Percy apologizes.
“It’s ok, love. No need to worry,” says Oliver, “How about a kiss for good luck?”
“Seriously, Ollie?” replies Percy with a fond smile.
“Yes seriously!” Oliver chuckles.
“Fine!” Percy gives him a short but loving kiss, “Now let’s go over the plan one more time.”
“Percy, I love you, but if you make me recite that one more time, I’m going to flip. Besides, I remember,” Oliver said.
“Ok, ok. Love you, too! Bye,” replied Percy as he headed through the floo.
As he entered the Burrow various shouts of hellos greeted Percy.
“Hello Mother and Father,” Percy said primly.
“Oh, Percy, darling! You’re home!” Mrs. Weasley replied.
“Yes, indeed, Mother!” Percy responded, trying to stop his nerves and muster a smile.
“Oi! What about us?” Bill laughed.
“Hello to you too, siblings,” replied Percy.
“You say siblings like it's a bad thing,” Ginny replied.
“It is,” smiled Percy.
“No, this cannot be. Percy just made a joke,” said George, shocked.
“Hey, I make jokes. I’m plenty good at it!” Percy replied.
“Yeah, sure. Tell me one person who thinks your jokes are funny!” Charlise asked.
“My boyfriend!” shouted Percy, forgetting his plan, “Uh, I mean girlfriend.”
“Percy, do you have something to tell us?” Mr. Weasley asked.
“Um, yes father. I have a boyfriend,” Percy replied anxiously.
“Great, we were wondering why you were single for so long, Perce!” Fred laughed.
“Hey!” yelled Percy, “He’s been my boyfriend for 2 years!”
“That was the wrong thing to say, Percy,” giggled Ginny.
“Percival Ignatius Weasley, why haven’t you told us about your boyfriend of 2 years? When is he coming for Sunday dinner? I need to make a sweater for him!” Mrs. Weasley fretted.
“Um, well actually, I was going to tell you and then ask him to come,” Percy nervously replied.
“Ok, dear. How about you go call him?” Mrs. Weasley smiled.
“Wait. Wait!” Bill shouted.
“What?” George and Ron asked simultaneously.
“Can we guess who your boyfriend is first?” Bill questioned.
“Fine,” replied Percy looking at his watch, “My boyfriend is running late anyway.”
“So, what house is he in?” asked Fred.
“I won’t tell you! You have to guess!” chuckled Percy.
“Maybe, Slytherin?” asked Charlise.
“No, Charlise. Not Slytherin,” replied Percy.
“How about Ravenclaw then?” inquired Ron.
“Nope,” said Percy.
“You probably won’t date a Hufflepuff so Gryffindor?” asked Bill.
“Correct. He is in Gryffindor,” Percy smiled.
“Um, do we know him?” asked Ron.
“Yes, you know him,” replied Percy.
“Ok,” Fred says, “This is hard.”
“Because you haven’t even properly guessed!” Percy shouts.
“Fine, fine. Does he like quidditch?” asks Ginny.
“Yes, he does,” Percy replies.
“Oh, thank Merlins. If he didn’t, I don’t know what I would do!” George laughs.
“Ha, ha. Very mature, George,” Percy replied dryly.
“I give up! Can Percy’s boyfriend come so we can eat?” asked Ron.
“I will if there is an overall decision,” says Percy.
“One last question?” asks Bill hopefully.
“Ok, what’s your question?” Percy asks.
“How many siblings does he have?” asks Bill.
“None,” said Percy.
“Well he’s going to be in for a chaotic surprise,” laughs Charlise.
“Anyway, you can bring him now, Percy!” Mrs. Weasley replies.
“That would be good. I’ll bring him from the floo,” replies Percy as he steps into the floo, “Home!”
“Perce!” Oliver shouts anxiously, “What took you so long, love?”
“Sorry, darling,” replies Percy, “They wanted to try to guess who my boyfriend was!”
“Did they guess it right?” chuckles Oliver.
“They didn’t even guess! They just asked silly questions,” said Percy as he rolled his eyes.
“I figured. Anyway, ready?” asked Oliver.
“Yeah, I’m ready, Oll,” replies Percy.
“Great! Let’s go then!” Oliver says.
“No, wait!” Percy stutters.
“Mhm, what?” asks Oliver.
“Maybe, I could come in first, and then I could prank them! Maybe say he can’t come/he broke up with me or some shit and then floo to the Burrow?” laughs Percy.
“Hearing you swear never fails to make me wonder. And yeah, I love it. But it’s your idea, if they ask, which they will!” Oliver smiles.
“Come when I ping you on your watch, ok?” asks Percy.
“Sure, muffin. Love ya!” said Oliver, his scottish twang prominently arising in his voice
“Ok then. Bye Ollie. Love you,” kisses Percy as he floo’s to the Burrow.
“Hey, Percy!!” says Ron.
“Wait, where is he?” asks Charlise.
“H-he b-broke up with me….” stutters Percy trying to sound devastated. It wasn’t too hard considering he had done acting at Hogwarts. Not many people knew though. Only Neville, Hannah, Penelope, Susan, and Luna.
“Oh no, Percy, dear. Would you like some tea?” says Molly trying to comfort him.
“Yes please, mum,” Percy (fake) sniffles.
The other Weasleys were shocked…..they had never seen Percy act this way…..before they knew it, they were all starting to curse his heartless ex-boyfriend.
“I’m going to kill him,” screeched George.
“Me too!” replied Fred.
“Me three!” Ginny replied.
“Me fucking four!” growled Bill.
“I’m here too!” Ron yells.
“And me!” replies Charlise.
“W-wait guys,” Percy stammers.
“Excuse me?” glares Ginny.
“Oh, guys and gals,” says Percy, covering up his mistake.
“Yes, Percy?” asks his father.
Percy cracks a huge grin as he laughs, “It’s a prankkkk!”
“Fuck you, Percy. Fuck you,” growls Fred.
“Seriously, what the hell?” Bill yelled.
“And why did you do this?” asked Ron.
“I could answer that, or Charlise might know,” smirked Percy.
“Sorry, Perce. It’s just you never make jokes or pranks, or whatever,” replied Charlise.
“Never mind that, how’re you so good at acting?” asked George.
“Because I was in acting for 4 years, George!” shouted Percy, “How come you don’t remember?”
“To be honest Perce, I don’t remember,” replied Ginny.
Shouts of ‘nor do I’ came chorusing through the Burrow.
“Seriously?” Percy sighed.
“Percy, so is your boyfriend still there?” asked Mrs. Weasley trying to change the topic.
Percy instantly brightened up and he replied, “Yeah, he is. And before I get him, don’t scream, don’t yell, don’t do anything that would embarrass me, and the prank was my idea so don’t blame him. Got it?”
“Got it!” replied the Weasley Family.
“Ok then,” said Percy as he tapped his watch, turning it the color of his bright blue eyes.
“Hey, how did you do that, Percy?” asked his Father.
“Just some simple charms and transfigurations which allow me to ask my boyfriend to come where I need him to be,” Percy replied, “It also kinda works like a patronus but instead of sending one, I can just call him and he can talk to me!”
“Woah, cool!” replied the twins simultaneously, “Can you make a prototype for our shop?”
Flustered at the praise, Percy just nodded as he waited for Ollie.
A familiar voice was heard, “Hiya Perce! Oh and hello Mr & Mrs. Weasley.” said Oliver, “-and hi fellow Weasley siblings!
“No freaking way!” yelled Ron.
“Oliver Wood, keeper of Puddlemere United!!” screeched Ginny.
“Calm down! I told y’all to keep it down and not to embarrass me, it hasn’t worked so far,” glared Percy.
“Y’all? Who says y’all?” shudders George, “Oliver’s rubbing up on you, Perce!”
“Oi! Shut it! I think saying y’all is cute! Don’t you, pumpkin?” says Oliver, “Oh, and aren’t you cold, muffin? You’re only wearing a sweater, dear.”
Embarrassed, Percy replied, “I’m fine, love. Now let’s go to eat!”
“Wait a minute, did everyone else hear Oliver saying pumpkin, muffin, and dear in the span of 2 minutes?” Bill chuckled as he asked.
“No more questions,” Percy shouted as he blushed, “Now time for dinner.”
Penelope Garcia can sniff out secrets like a cute security dog can sniff out drugs.
It's a well-known fact that if you want to keep something hidden, one, you don't tell Garcia because she's incapable of keeping anything secret and two, don't breathe near her because she will be able to figure out that you're hiding something, and she will know which buttons to push to get you to spill everything.
Penelope likes to think that in another life, she would've made a great interrogator. In this life though, she uses her powers to get what she wants out of her friends.
This was one of the first things y/n found out when she joined the BAU. Derek spoke about the tech goddess' powers with reverence while the rest of them spoke of it with fear. Even Hotch seemed a little disconcerted by the whole thing.
y/n had been amused but had brushed off the warning.
That had been her first mistake.
***
Paperwork days were the worst.
y/n should probably love them more because if she's stuck behind her desk, it means that no one is out there getting brutally murdered. Still, it's a lot less exciting. It doesn't help that the bullpen is oddly quiet, everyone focused on their files. Spencer is going through his about a mile a minute, stopping from time to time to rewrite something or to look up some kind of information. Derek is slower and y/n can almost see the boredom oozing out of him. Yet, he doesn't look up when she looks over at him and keeps diligently going through his notes.
Finally, her eyes land on Emily. Her head is propped up on her left hand as she writes with the right. Occasionally, she will bite her nails as she focuses hard on part of her notes. y/n thinks she looks extra cute when she frowns, trying to understand her own writing. It makes y/n smile before refocusing on her own work.
y/n is almost done with one of her reports when she notices some missing information. She could easily look it up herself, but she's bored and this is the perfect excuse to get away from her desk for a bit. So she stands up, gathers her papers and walks to her favourite tech genius' lair.
y/n opens the door and sees Penelope's back turned to her. Before she can say anything, Garcia's voice rings out.
"Well if it isn't my favourite ray of sunshine, what can I do for you, y/n?"
y/n smiles at the blonde's greeting, as she sits down next to her, "Are you busy?"
"Not at all!"
"Great, I'm missing some information on this file, but most importantly, I'm in dire need of entertainment."
Garcia happily grabs the file from y/n and starts tapping away at her computer, putting up the information she needs on her screen in no time. She prints it all out and hands it to y/n with a flourish.
"Here's the info you need," She starts, but her eyes quickly turn regretful, "Sadly, I have no recent office gossip to entertain you with."
y/n pouts at that, "Damn, not even from Slutty David?"
Penelope shakes her head and opens her mouth to speak when she suddenly frowns at y/n. She pulls back slightly and y/n wonders if she'd forgotten to put on deodorant that morning. Penelope says nothing, just watches her.
"What?" y/n finally asks, unnerved by the staring.
"What are you not telling me?" Garcia asks simply and it's y/n's turn to frown. She can't think of anything that she might be hiding from her friend.
"Nothing?"
y/n is pretty sure that's the wrong answer and that Penelope is going to keep asking her questions until she confesses to something she didn't even know she was hiding. To her surprise though, Garcia only stares at her for a few more seconds before dropping it. As quick as it disappeared, her bright smile is back on her face and she goes back to telling a story.
It turns out that yes, she did have something to tell y/n about Slutty David.
y/n leaves Penelope about twenty minutes later with a refreshed brain, ready to get back to work. When she gets back to her desk, Emily looks up to give her a smile. y/n smiles back and winks at her as she sits down. Emily's smile broadens before she turns her focus back to the file in front of her.
y/n does the same, her smile staying even while going through an autopsy report. It's only hours later when y/n is almost done with paperwork that she freezes. She looks up at Emily and realizes.
That's what she's been hiding.
She frowns. There's no way Garcia knows that though, she and Emily have made sure, they've been careful.
Yeah, it was probably a fluke.
***
Mornings where she gets to wake up next to Emily are y/n's favourites. Even the early ones, when they get called in for a case, having Emily next to her makes it all easier.
That's what happens that morning, both of their phones going off at 5:45 am. Emily is the one to reach for her phone while y/n latches onto her and drops a kiss on her girlfriend's shoulder.
"It's JJ. We have to go in."
y/n nods and painstakingly opens her eyes. She drops another kiss on Emily's shoulder and turns away from her to get up, but before she can go too far, Emily reaches for her and kisses her. y/n scrunches up her nose even though she's smiling into the kiss.
"Morning breath. Gross," She manages to mutter against Emily's lips.
"Don't care."
y/n had wondered when they started dating if it would get to a point where it'd be too much to be together and then work together as well. Now, six months into their relationship, y/n knows she had worried over nothing. They have a system and boundaries. They keep the PDA to a minimum at work, which isn't a problem considering they had decided to keep their relationship a secret from the team. It's not that Prentiss and y/l/n don't trust their coworkers, it's more than they don't want to screw up the group's dynamics.
And it's also ridiculously funny to see how long it's taking a whole group of profilers to figure out that two members of their team are dating.
After getting dressed, y/n starts packing a new bag, taking clothes from the one drawer Emily had emptied out and gifted to her on their 2 months anniversary. Emily had a similar one at y/n's place. Considering their jobs and the amount of time they spent at each other's place, they figured it was smart to always have enough clothes at each other's place for instances like these.
Not even 10 minutes later, they're out of the door. They kiss one last time before Emily gets into her car and y/n gets into hers. As usual, y/n takes the long way to work, her place being famously further away than Emily's. So when she finally gets to the conference room, everyone is already there and waiting for Hotch.
y/n sits in between Derek and Spencer, "Good morning, my people!"
"It certainly is not," Hotch deadpans as he enters the room. y/n closes her mouth and nods to herself. She should've seen that one coming.
The others chuckle quietly, but the laughter quickly dies. Hotch was right. This is far from a good morning.
The murders are gruesome, the victims are all women which bear a striking resemblance to Emily. y/n doesn't bring attention to it, it wouldn't bring anything to the case except worry over a detail that isn't of much importance, at least not right now. Instead, she watches her girlfriend look at the pictures, and by the way her jaw clenches and unclenches repeatedly, she's come to the same realization.
"Alright everyone, wheels up in 20." Hotch dismisses them, and almost everyone rushes out of the room to get their bags. Garcia stays behind though, and so does Emily. y/n gathers her stuff slowly then, waiting for Garcia to leave the room so she can have a moment alone with her girlfriend.
Garcia doesn't leave, though.
She's staring at y/n ominously. She's missing a furry cat to be petting and she'd look like a supervillain from a cheesy action movie. y/n tries smiling at her, but the blonde doesn't respond in the slightest.
y/n leaves the room. She'll check up on Emily before take-off. She is big enough to admit that she was a little freaked out by Garcia.
She thinks nothing of it until hours later, when she's setting up their evidence board in a small town in buttfuck, Texas. JJ is standing next to her, writing the name of the second victim.
"Garcia has been asking about you."
It's such a weird thing to say that y/n is a bit taken aback. She pauses and slowly turns to look at JJ, "Uhm… Okay?"
JJ puts the cap on the pen and turns to y/n, her face probably too serious for whatever this is about.
"Remember when we told you about Garcia's weird ability to tell when someone is hiding something juicy?" y/n nods, still confused as to where this is going, "Well, she's smelt whatever it is that you're hiding."
y/n briefly wonders if no one is bothered by the constant comparison of Garcia to a literal hound dog, but apparently not. She lets out a small chuckle and nods at JJ, clearly not believing the warning tone the blonde had used, "Yeah, okay, I'll sleep with one eye open."
"y/n, I'm serious," JJ lowers her voice and looks around before confiding, "Penelope is the reason the whole team knows I had a one night stand with Slutty David."
"You had sex with Slutty David?"
JJ shudders, "Everybody makes mistakes."
***
y/n tells Emily about JJ's warning as they cuddle into bed that same night, exhausted from a day of leads getting them nowhere. To her surprise, Emily agrees with JJ.
"Garcia has a way of getting you to admit to things you thought you'd never say out loud."
The way she talks about it has y/n looking up from her very comfortable spot on Emily's shoulder to her girlfriend's face. She's staring off in the distance as if haunted by whatever it is that Garcia had dug up on her.
"What the hell did she find out about you?"
"I don't wanna talk about it."
***
"So, are you seeing anyone?"
It's Saturday night and they're out at a club for a Girl's night. After the case they'd had, they deserved a night to unwind. They've chosen a bar where the music is loud, but not loud enough to drown out Penelope's question. JJ and Emily are gone, lost somewhere in the crowd fighting for the bartender's attention, in search of more drinks. As y/n's brain finally processes what Garcia has just asked, she fights the urge to smile and look for Emily.
y/n has drunk enough to be on the dumb side of gay.
"Why do you ask?"
"Answering a question with another question, very telling," Garcia smirks.
Penelope seems oddly composed for someone who is two cocktails and three shots deep into the party. Usually, a drunk Garcia means sloppy kisses on the cheek and getting her away from attractive strangers before she can say anything overtly sexual or inappropriate. So something doesn't add up. y/n squints her eyes at the blonde in front of her, like that will somehow help her see things clearer.
It doesn't. Everything looks fuzzy and she probably should stop drinking.
"I'm not."
The lie tastes gross in y/n's mouth and if there's one thing that could make her feel better, it would be kissing Emily. Before she can stop it, a smitten smile makes its way onto her face. Garcia slams a hand on the table, making y/n jump. She focuses her eyes on Penelope who's pointing an accusing finger at her.
"There! Who did you just think about?"
y/n sputters, racking her brain for a more convincing lie but she can't stop smiling so she gives in. Damn her inability to lie when she's drunk.
"Okay, fine" y/n amends, "I am seeing someone, but please keep it quiet."
Penelope obviously does not keep quiet. Instead, she squeals loud enough that she startles a few people passing by their table. Of course, that's also the moment JJ and Emily pick to come back.
So when Garcia basically yells, "I knew it!" for the whole bar to hear, there's no way y/n is getting out of this one.
"Knew what?" Emily asks with a smile as she puts down a drink in front of y/n. She immediately grabs it, thinking that maybe if she blacks out, this conversation will also be erased from the history of the universe.
"y/n is seeing someone!" Penelope happily informs the two recently arrived. JJ whips her head, excitement filling her eyes, about a million questions fighting to be asked first. Emily, for her part, chokes on her drink.
"Why haven't you told us anything?" JJ says, her blue eyes even more glassy than usual, "Who is it?"
y/n shrugs, going for a nonchalant vibe. She goes with something vague.
"You don't know her."
Penelope's smile widens, "Oh, so it's a her."
Shit. Not vague enough.
What follows are a series of questions that y/n refuses to answer and thankfully, with Emily there to mediate, they manage to change the subject. Seriously, y/n could kiss her right then and there. Instead, she takes a sip of her drink and glances towards Emily. They decide to leave less than an hour later. JJ is about one sip away from taking her top off while y/n is just about ready to throw caution to the wind and start making out with Emily. To hell with consequences.
Penelope is still suspiciously acting sane.
"Oh, Pen, be careful, someone dropped their drinks right behind your chair."
JJ's heads up makes y/n glare at Garcia who looks a little too guilty.
***
When they get back to Emily's place, y/n barely waits until the front door is closed before kissing Emily. Emily welcomes it, blindly throwing away the keys to wrap both hands around her girlfriend's neck. The kissing is sweet, the taste of their last drinks still sticking to their mouths. It's a little messy due to the fact they're both smiling like two goddamn idiots in love. When they stop, Emily grabs y/n by the hand and drags her to the kitchen so they can both drink water to make their hangovers hopefully less painful in the morning.
They're almost done when Emily speaks.
"We have a problem."
y/n stops moving. She should've known this moment would come.
"Listen, if this is about the burnt toaster, I've already ordered a new one."
"Garcia- What?" Emily turns around to look at the spot where her toaster usually rests, "What happened?"
Realizing her mistake, y/n puts her empty glass of water down and wraps her arms around Emily's waist, "Nothing you need to worry about," Emily looks back at her girlfriend who looks too innocent, "What were you going to say?"
"Garcia knows you're with someone."
y/n nods slowly, wondering where Emily is going with this. She doesn't see any problems. Sure, Penelope knows that she might be sort of taken by a woman, but that's it. Even in her drunken state, she'd managed to keep any other incriminating details to herself.
"Garcia has a way of finding things out, it's only a matter of time until she puts two and two together."
Emily looks genuinely fearful and y/n wonders again, what kind of dirt Penelope had gotten Emily to disclose. She thinks back to JJ's warning as well. y/n turns it over in her head, but in the end, she scoffs and leans up to kiss Emily.
"Don't worry, babe. I'll make up a fake break up or something and we'll be fine."
Thinking she could fool Penelope Garcia so easily was y/n's second mistake.
***
Derek is getting himself coffee when y/n swiftly approaches him from the side.
"What secret did Garcia get out of Emily?"
"Which time?"
"There's more than one?"
"Oh yeah."
***
The whole thing with Garcia does make y/n and Emily reconsider telling the team, or at the very least, Hotch and HR.
They hadn't at first because of team dynamics, but mostly because they themselves were figuring out how they worked as a couple. It turns out they worked great, and hiding each other from their coworkers and best friends was getting a bit much for the both of them.
They wanted to show up at Rossi's dinner parties together without worrying about what their friends would think. y/n wanted to hold Emily's hand after a rough case on the jet without it being questioned, just as much as Emily wanted to drive with y/n to work every morning and walk into the building together.
So the next morning, Emily and y/n get to work before anyone else and walk into Hotch's office.
He doesn't have much of a reaction, not that they were expecting anything more.
What does surprise them is that, after giving them the whole speech about professionalism and whatnot, he smiles at them and says, "I'm happy for you both."
Aaron Hotchner smiles at them and y/n feels like her relationship has just been blessed by the angels from above.
***
"Hey, Spence? Do you know what Garcia dug up on Emily?"
"Emily sprained her wrist a few years back and told us that it had happened at the range. It turns out that she'd sprained it falling from her skateboard."
"Her skate- What?"
***
When y/n had told Emily they'd be fine, she wasn't being cocky, but she just knew that there was no way Garcia would suspect something with how careful they had been.
They never showed up together at work. At first, they always timed their arrivals carefully, until it became second nature. They were never overly affectionate with each other. If they needed to be comforted during a particularly hard case, they'd wait to be behind the closed doors of the hotel room they shared on most trips. As much as y/n wanted to, she never showed up to work wearing one of her girlfriend's sweaters, no matter how warm and comfortable they were.
Bottom line was, there was no reason for Garcia to suspect anything when their teammates who were literal profilers hadn't caught onto anything.
No one except Hotch knew. And only because they'd told him, so.
y/n should've known though, from being a profiler herself, that being too confident meant she was bound to slip up and make a mistake sooner rather than later.
It all happens very quickly.
JJ asks y/n if she can grab a couple of files she had left with Garcia and bring them back to her because she was waiting for someone to call and she couldn't go too far. y/n, of course, accepts, always happy to get away from her desk and the paperwork begging for her attention. She quickly knocks on Garcia's door before entering and the tech doesn't turn around as she greets her.
"Bonjour, Emily, what brings you to Casa Garcia today?"
y/n chuckles at the blonde's eccentricities, "Sorry, but you got it wrong, it's me."
Penelope rolls her chair around to face her and she looks truly distraught to have gotten it wrong, "But I always get it right. I'm the all-knowing Penelope Garcia."
y/n gently pats her shoulder as she reaches past her to some files she sees on the desk, "Are these JJ's? She asked me to get them for her."
Garcia nods, but she still looks defeated at having failed to guess her visitor's identity, so y/n tells her she'll come by later with some coffee for a chat. Penelope nods and turns her attention back to her computer and so she leaves.
It's funny, y/n thinks, that of all the people Penelope could have confused her with, it was Emily. Maybe some of Emily's fears had planted themselves into her brain unbeknownst to her because y/n suddenly feels very uneasy. Why did Pen think it was Emily walking in? Had she unconsciously started walking like her girlfriend? No, no, that was ridiculous. Emily had a very distinctive gate that was very different from y/n's.
Still, something is off. y/n trusts her gut, it has never failed her, and her gut is telling her something is off.
She doesn't know what though. She had woken up with Emily that morning and they'd actually had time to enjoy a nice breakfast together and had plenty of time to get ready together. In fact, they had even gotten to enjoy a very pleasant shower together. y/n smiles at that particularly good memory until she realizes.
"Shit," she mutters, but not quietly enough. She's standing in the middle of the bullpen, her coworkers' eyes on her. Before she can tell herself that it's fine, that she was just paranoid and that there was no way Penelope had noticed, she hears a familiar but hurried clicking of heels approach the bullpen. y/n turns around to see Penelope standing on the other side of the glass window and one look at her is all y/n needs.
She knows.
Before Garcia can make her way inside the bullpen and bring mayhem with her, y/n hastily makes her way to her. She drops JJ's files on her desk haphazardly under Derek, Emily and Spencer's bewildered eyes. When she gets to Penelope, she gently grabs her by the arm and urgently leads her away.
"You smell like lavender!" Penelope exclaims with no preamble, "You usually don't smell like lavender, you smell of honey and coconut, but never lavender and that's why I got confused!"
y/n confidently nods in greeting at an agent passing by Garcia's office as y/n shoves her inside. He looks unsettled but only smiles in return, preferring to ignore whatever is going on. Smart man.
"That's why I thought you were Emily! Because Emily is the one who smells of lavender!" Penelope is pacing while y/n stands with her back to the door.
"Okay, Pen, I need you to breathe," She says when the techie is still going on about lavender, honey and coconut.
"Breathe? How can I breathe when you and Emily are dating."
y/n thinks that's a bit dramatic, but Garcia has finally stopped pacing and talking. y/n slowly steps towards the blonde and puts both of her hands on her shoulders. She debates for a few seconds, wonders if she'd get away with a lie but at this point, y/n's pretty sure the cat is out of the bag.
"Yeah, Emily and I are together."
y/n should've been prepared for it, but when Garcia lets out a high pitched squeal, it still gets her by surprise. Her pained grimace is quickly chased away by laughter when Penelope hugs her with all the strength and excitement caffeine was providing her.
"This is so great, I'm so happy for you two!" She lets you go long enough to see the smile that's made its way onto her face. It's the same smitten smile she always gets whenever she thinks about Emily and Garcia honest to god pinches her cheeks, "Aww, look at that smile!"
y/n laughs and tries to get her cheeks away from anymore pinching. That's when the door opens enough for Emily to sneak her head in, "Hey you two, is everything okay?"
She looks at Penelope first, but her eyes end on y/n. Before she can say anything though, Penelope smirks, "Why yes, lover, everything is just fine."
At that, Emily gets in and closes the door behind her. She looks at y/n for confirmation.
y/n just nods, "Yeah, she knows."
"You bet your sweet ass I know!"
And with no further warning, Penelope tackles Emily in a hug much as she'd done with y/n minutes prior. When she lets her go, Emily steps closer to y/n, and with a hand on her lower back, she says, "I told you she'd find out."
y/n ignores the I told you so her girlfriend apparently couldn't wait to give her, but yeah, she's not wrong.
It'll teach her to ever doubt the abilities of the all-knowing Penelope Garcia.
***
Months and months later, y/n meets up with Penelope for brunch on a Sunday morning. Before she can even greet her, the blonde fixes her with a stare that is both strange but oh so very familiar.
"What are you planning?"
This time, y/n grins and tells Garcia not to worry, that she'll know in due time. After all, she can only hide the little velvet box in her coat pocket and its content for so long.
Little Morgan
Tumblr media
Ooc Spencer Reid.
Wordcount : 2727
After filming her latest movie After, overseas for the last year 26 year old Yn Morgan was seen headed to Virginia
I hold my phone in my hand as I pose for pictures with the fans I ran into at the airport even though I look like a literal pile of shit. I work with what I have which is filters and when they are done taking photos on their phone I pull out my phone and I go to my Snapchat and I use my phone to take selfies with fans and I take like 8 before adding them to my Instagram story, getting all of their instagrams so that I can tag them.
"Arrived home to so much love. I love you all 😘💕" I add to my Instagram story as well.
"Thank you so much Yn" one of them says.
"Of course no problem" I say hugging them again before my phone starts going off.
"It was nice meeting you all, I'll follow you when I get home" I say walking off and picking up my phone.
"Hey dad" I say as soon as I pick up.
"Hey baby did you land?" He asks.
"Yeah, are you here?" I ask looking around as I grab my suitcase.
"Yeah, I'm walking up right now. I had to park pretty far" he says.
"Okay, I'm making my way to the entrance" I say putting my suitcase down and wheeling it behind me and when I see him, I run over to him and he catches he, pulling me into a hug and I hug him back.
"Hi daddy" I say kissing his head.
"Hey baby. How was the flight?" He asks and I smile at him.
"To be honest I don't know. I was so excited to see Hank that I slept the whole time because if I didn't I would have exploded" I say and he laughs.
"How long has it been?" He asks.
"I only seen him when he was in the hospital and then I was filming supernatural and then when that wrapped I had to fly out from Canada to London to start filming After" I say.
"It's going to be so good to see him in person and not just over FaceTime" I say and he grabs my suitcase.
"Well he's waiting so let's go" he says leading the way.
"Are you okay?" He asks as he gets in after putting my suitcases in the trunk and I nod.
"Yeah, it's just a little weird if I'm being honest" I say buckling up.
"I haven't seen Savannah in so long and I don't want to feel like I'm intruding" I say and he quickly shakes his head.
"I understand, it's a new place. But take your time it's no rush to get use to things. And it's only two weeks but if it was longer you wouldn't be intruding. She's waiting to get some girl time in with you" he says smiling at me before he drives off.
"A few of my former colleagues are coming over for dinner tonight. So I'm just letting you know so you have time to shower and get ready" he says.
"Thank you for the warning. I need time to get presentable" I say smiling at him.
"Welcome home" he says opening the door and I walk inside happy to finally be here instead of living out of a hotel for the past year and a half.
"You did such a good job with the house, it looks nothing like how it use to look" I say looking around.
"Hey sweetie" I hear and Savannah walks around the corner.
"Hey" I say and she hugs me and I hug her back.
"I just started dinner, so you have time to get ready" she says and I nod and Hank runs around the corner.
"Ynn" he says running over to me hugging me.
"Hi Bubba" I say picking him up.
"You've gotten some big and cute. How old are you now?" I ask kissing his head.
"I'm three" he says holding up four fingers and I put one down, smiling at him.
"That's so crazy. I remember seeing you in the hospital as a little baby" I say.
"You seen me in the hospital?" He asks and I nod.
"Yeah, I was one of the first people to hold you" I say brushing his hair out his face.
"Hank, let Yn go shower" Savannah says.
"We'll finish this conversation later" I say putting him down and holding out my fist and he fist bumps me before running off into the kitchen.
"Everything is pretty much exactly where it was it's just updated so you should have no problem finding your way" my dad says and I turn to him nodding.
"Okay" I say going up the stairs to shower and get ready.
I walk down the stairs and I hear a lot of talking and laughing and I tug on my dress before walking around the corner "hey Yn come here" my dad says opening his arms and I walk over and he hugs me, wrapping one arm around my shoulder.
"This is my best friend Penelope, Penelope this is my daughter Yn" he says introducing me to the first person I see.
"You didn't tell me your daughter was the Yn Morgan" she says and I smile at her.
"Well I feel like I'm the only one" I say laughing.
"But it's nice to meet you" I say going to shake her hand but she pulls me into a hug.
"You are so beautiful" she says and I hug her back.
"Thank you" I say smiling at her.
"This is Matt and his wife Kristy, Hotch and his wife Renae, Luke, Tara, Rossi, JJ and her husband Will, Emily and Spencer" he says introducing me to everyone and I shake all of their hands.
"It's really good to meet you all" I say smiling at them.
"I'm with Penelope here. You didn't tell us who your daughter actually was" Luke says and I turn to my dad.
"It never came up" he says and Renae laughs.
"Never came up? We've known you for like 17 years" she says.
"Geez it's almost like you're embarrassed of me" I joke and he laughs rolling his eyes.
"How long are you with your dad?" Matt asks.
"Two weeks, I'm off from filming for a while so I decided to visit them" I say and he smiles at me and I smile back and Savannah hands me a glass of wine and I sip on it.
"You're an actress right?" Kristy asks and I nod.
"Yeah I am" I say smiling at her.
"What's that like?" She asks.
"When I was younger it was a really hard time for me, I started out on a show and then my mom made me join another cast at the same time and I was doing two shows at once and I wasn't use to it so I was very moody and always tired and then after that I did a season of a show and I was quickly done with that because it sucked so I moved on to movies to let myself relax" I say taking a sip of my wine.
"And you do both now right?" JJ asks.
"Yeah, recently I started doing tv again" I say.
"You were in the Netflix series. I think it was called a Time" Will says and I nod.
"Yeah, that's what made me want to start tv again and then I did a show called euphoria with one of my best friends who is like a little sister to me and then I did supernatural and went to work on a movie" I say.
"My girlfriend and I watched Euphoria" Tara says.
"What did you think?" I ask.
"You were so good. We talked about how you and Zendaya played the roles you got so good that it seemed so real" she says and I laugh awkwardly because for me it is very real.
"She told me the day she started filming that Savannah and I weren't allowed to watch it" my dad says wrapping his arm around Savannah.
"Her parts in the show weren't as bad as others but yeah as her parents I wouldn't watch it" she says and everyone laughs.
"What else are you in?" Spencer asks.
"Im in a new series called the umbrella academy. It came out earlier this year and I occasionally do a show called 9-1-1" I say.
"So you've been busy?" Renae asked and I nod.
"Extremely, but I like it. It helps me stay active so I don’t have rid to start thinking" I say drinking the last of my wine.
"I'm going to get a refill. Does anyone need anything?" I ask and they all shake their head continuing on the conversation and I go into the kitchen and I go to the wine and I pour me a glass and I take the plastic baggie out my bra and I put a little on my finger and I stick the bag back in my bra and I hear the door open so I brush it off and I look up to see Spencer and he smiles at me and I smile back.
"Hey" I say.
"Hi, can you top me off?" He asks setting his cup on the island and I nod pouring him a glass and I sit on the cabinet refilling mine.
"So Spencer" I say smiling at him.
"Yeah?" He asks, awkwardly smiling back.
"What do you like to do in your free time?" I ask.
"I don't really get free time but I guess I would have to say I like to read" he says.
"Oh yeah I can see that" I say and I grab my purse that’s on the far end of the cabinet, pulling the book out.
"You've probably read this but if you haven't you should give it a read and let me know what you thought about it. I just finished reading it on the flight here" I say handing it to him.
"How am I going to do that?" He asks and I pull a pen out and I open the front of the book, quickly writing my number in the top of the front cover.
"There you go. I don't know how fast you read but it took me three days so I'll be waiting on the call" I say.
"It's actually not going to take me that long" he says opening the front page again and he reads the first and second page in like 30 seconds.
"Oh my god I totally forgot you're like a genius" I say and he laughs.
"I'm not a genius" he says.
"Something only a genius would say" I say laughing and he looks up as I'm drinking my wine.
"Are you sure you want to give this to me?" He asks and I nod.
"I mean it's a bit too late, I was trying to be cute and write my number down" I say and he blushes a little.
"Yeah, you're right" he says quietly and I giggle.
"Hey, nothing to be embarrassed about" I say holding up my wine glass and I nod to him and he holds his up.
"Here's to fast friend outside of our careers and good books" I say and he taps his glass against mine at the same time I go to tap mine against his and I fall forward applying too much pressure and I catch myself but I break both glasses and the wine falls out and I instantly start laughing.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry" I say and he laughs with me and I jump down to grab some paper towels so I can clean up and he helps me and I hear the door open and I look up.
"Everything okay in here?" Savannah asks and I look up quickly over the island.
"Mhm" I say.
"All is good" Spencer says and she raises a brow.
"Whatever you heard nothing is broke" I say and she laughs.
"If you need another glass they are in the cabinet beside the stove" she says and the door closes and I finish cleaning and I sit back on the floor, with my back pressed against the island and Spencer grabs us more glasses and refills them and sits beside me handing me one.
"Thank you" I say and he smiles at me.
"Here's to fast friends outside of our careers, good books and extra wine glasses" he says and I snort laughing.
"Here here" I say gently tapping his glass and we both drink at the same time.
"Anyone ever tell you how easy it is to get along with you?" I ask and he quickly shakes his head laughing.
"Never and you only say that because I've had to stop myself from pulling out all the ramblings and unwanted facts" he says and I laugh.
"Don't let me stop you, I'd love to hear some of your best facts" I say and he smiles at me and I smile back and I start to lean in and the door opens and we both quickly pull away.
"And that's when I walked out of the Emmy's" I say and my dad clears his throat and I stand up.
"What's going on in here?" He asks.
"Well I was coming in here to refill my glass" I say.
"20 minutes ago" he says.
"And Spencer came in and we started talking and I gave him a book and then I went to cheers his glass and I broke both of ours and had to clean it up and then savannah came in and told us where the spare glasses were and then we refilled our glasses" I say and Spencer stands up.
"Leave them alone" Savannah says coming in to check dinner and I laugh at my dads face and Spencer's phone goes and he looks at it and he sighs.
"I have to go" he says and my dad nods.
"I'll walk you out" I say.
"You don't have to" he says.
"I know but I want to" I say.
"Be careful and I'll see you Sunday" my dad says hugging Spencer who hugs him back and then he hugs savannah as I walk into the living room.
"There you are Yn" Penelope says and I smile.
"I'll be right back to talk, I'm going to walk Spencer out" I say and she nods and Spencer comes to say bye to everyone and I walk him out.
"It was nice getting to meet you, you are way cooler than what I've heard" I say laughing and he laughs and it dies down and it gets awkward.
"Okay I'm just going to come out and say it because I've learned my whole life to just be bold but I like you, like really like you and the time I've talked to you has been the most fun I've had in like the past year and I know it might be weird because our age gap and the fact that I'm Derek's daughter and you're probably taken because only an idiot would ever turn you down and now I'm regretting even saying anything about liking you but it's true and I'm sorry if things are weird between us now but I thought we were having a moment in the kitchen earlier but I'm an idiot and I don't actually know if it was what I-" he cuts my endless rambling off with a kiss and I kiss him back before he pulls away.
"I'm sorry I don't know why I did that" he says.
"It's okay, I don't mind" I say smiling at him.
"I wouldn't normally do that but there's just something about you" he says and I push his hair out of his face, my smile growing bigger and I clear my throat.
"I should head back inside before they get suspicious but call me when you finish the book" I say and he squeezes my hand and I smile at him running back inside and when I get into the house I watch him pull off and I shut the door.
Imagine: JJ and Emily at their wedding and someone plays this song and JJ cries because she’s so happy~
((People may be OOC and I apologize for absolutely nothing. Please be nice to me))
((Written for @emily-fucking-prentiss ))
The BAU was currently at Rossi’s getting dressed. The day was here. JJ and Emily were finally getting married after YEARS.
Amy smiles as she stands besides Spencer Reid who was her date. She was new to the BAU and mostly helped the team from home base. She and Spencer were set up by their best friends and they got along really well. She shakes her head as she ties Spencer’s tie humming. “3 years. 3 years together and you STILL can’t tie a tie, can you?” She shook her head. Spencer could only laugh and smile at his girlfriend. “I can you just like it doing for me.” He laughed when Amy hit his arms. “Shut up Reid!” She kissed his cheek. “I’m only helping because I was sick of JJ and Emily asking me to describe them to each other!” Morgan and Rossi shake their heads while Aaron tried not to sob. He was just so happy for his team. And very rarely do they get to have a special day that ISN’T ruined by murder. Amy smiles and had set up a surprise for the girls at the reception. Soon it was time to start and Amy and Spencer were the last to walk down the aisle. Rossi and Aaron each had a beautiful bride to walks down. Aaron took Emily down the aisle and kissed her cheek. “I’m so happy.” He goes to stand beside Henry and Jack.
Rossi smiles at JJ. “Nervous?” He asked the blonde seeing her freak a little. “Hey it’s just Emily. Don’t even think about anyone but the team who just want you both happy.” JJ nodded and smiles. She walks down the aisle to Emily tears in her eyes. Of course every little girl plans her wedding but no one plans it for two girls. JJ wouldn’t have it any other way. She smiles and stands with Emily. She smiles at their son. “I’m ready.” She whispered handing Amy her red roses with white tulips. She holds Emily’s hands and soon the wedding starts. JJ and Emily only focusing on themselves. And before you know it? Soon it was time. Penelope smiles. “Emily Prentiss, do you take Jennifer Jareau to be your lawfully wedded wife?” Emily smiles brightly. “I Do.” Penelope smiles tearing up. “Jennifer Jareau, do you take Emily Prentiss to be your lawfully wedded wife?” JJ gets this big grin. “I Do!” Penelope smiles. “Then by the power invested by me, by the state of Virginia, I now pronounce you Mrs. And Mrs. Prentiss. You may kiss your bride.” Emily pulled JJ close for a kiss. Everyone cheering loudly.
Everyone was having fun at the reception and dancing. JJ and Emily having a grand time together. “I love you, my silly girl.” Emily says to JJ holding her close. Soon the music stopped and both blushing brides look confused. Amy stood at the mic and smiles. “Ok so I planned a surprise with Penelope’s help. Since it’s Christmas and we are having a literal white wedding I thought we throw a traditional first dance out the window. So if both Mrs will come to the floor!” She announced. JJ and Emily shrug and get on the dance floor. Soon Sia’s “Snowman” played and it was a remix and it was beautiful. It was them. It was slow and powerful just like Emily and JJ. JJ laughed when Emily twirled her around. “As Sia says, JJ, I want you to know I’m never leaving and you are my home, my home for all seasons.” Emily says. JJ smiles at her wife kissing her after the last twirl. This was everything she dreamed off. Being Mrs. Prentiss. A Snowy Christmas Wedding. And a perfect slow song surrounded by family. She couldn’t ask for anything more. She noticed a shooting star but she didn’t need to make a wish. She had everything she ever wanted. And she couldn’t be happier.
Friends with Kids.
A/N  I re-watched Friends with Kids for the firs time in years and I came up with this, if you, like me, love rom-coms I highly recommend it, therefore if you don't want spoilers for the movie, go watch it and then come back here to read this! For the sake of the story there might be some OOC moments, don't kill me. Also there are many time-jumps so I hope it’s not too confusing. English is not my first language so bear with me, I try my best, I'm still working on it. I enjoyed writing this so much! I started last month and it was a blast so hopefully you enjoyed it as well, if you did, let me know! Thank you for reading this super long oneshot. P.S. This is the first work of the Movie AU series that I've been planning (if you pay close attention, without intending to I wrote a couple clues about others stories I'm working on (Movie AU's as well) 👀
P.S. 2 You should go and check this post and this post and help if you can ❤
ALSO this is another entry for my @cmbingo card, the square is Friends to Lovers.
Summary: After seeing all of their friends having kids, Penelope and Luke decide that since none of them seem to have found their person, they agree to have a child of their own. Having a kid with your best friend can't be that bad, right? (Movie AU: Friends with Kids)
Pairing: Penelope Garcia x Luke Alvez (with a little bit of Jemily 🤭)
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of sex, bad jokes, SLOWBURN, some angst I guess, some grammar mistakes.
Word count: 15410 (y’all told me to post it as a one instalment lmao 🤯🤯🤯)
Masterlist (You can also find this and other fanfics in my AO3 acc )
Luke didn’t need to look up to know that Penelope was finally down in the lobby, the sound of her high heels gave it away, he pocketed his phone and got up, ready to go and meet their friends.
“Hello chica” He kissed her cheek and she returned the gesture.
“Hi newbie, I’m sorry it’s so late, I got caught up at work, let’s go”
“After you” Once they were outside their apartment building, they called a cab, eager to get to the restaurant and catch up with their friends.
“How was work?” Penelope asked him as she put on lipstick.
Luke shrugged “Same as usual, nothing exciting happens, what about you?”
“Terrible day, I can’t wait to drink a couple glasses of wine” Luke snorted and raised an eyebrow “Or five”
“It’s Friday so I’m also thinking about getting a little tipsy” She placed her lipstick in her purse and rested her hands in her lap with a smile on her face.
“It’s been so long since the eight of us have gone out to dinner, I miss everyone”
“I know, I don’t think I’ll recognize their faces anymore” Penelope rolled her eyes instead of going along with it.
They remained in a comfortable silence the rest of the time, saving everything else they had to say until they were with the rest. Penelope and Luke saw each other much more often than the others, mostly because they lived in the same building, just an elevator ride apart, Penelope’s place was on the third floor while Luke’s was on the seventh. Another reason as to why they didn’t see each other that much was because half of the gang, Matt, Kristy, Derek and Savannah were now parents and they didn’t have as much free time time as before.
Once in the restaurant, Penelope walked as quickly as she could, Luke following close behind careful to act if she tripped or something. Penelope’s smile fell just a little when she only saw Emily and JJ sitting at the table.
“Hey, you guys are here” Emily and JJ quickly rushed to them, and after a round of greetings and hugs, the four sat down.
“Where's the rest of the gang?” Luke asked, looking around to see if they were by the bar or coming from the bathroom.
“Yeah, we can’t be the awesome eight when there are only four of us here” Penelope stated as she nicely signaled the waiter to come over.
Emily bit her lip and looked at JJ “They called to inform us they can’t make it tonight” The blonde woman informed them.
“Kristy’s not feeling well and Matt has to be there to take care of the kids and Derek and Savannah couldn’t find a sitter” Emily added carefully watching Penelope, they all knew she had been looking forward to this dinner for a few weeks now.
“Oh” Penelope forced a smile “It’s ok, I get it, things happen” Under the table, Luke took her hand and squeezed it, she looked at him and smiled a little less forced this time.
“We’ll be the fabulous four tonight” JJ raised her glass and Penelope remembered she hadn’t seen them in a few months so it was still exciting getting the chance to see them.
“I’ll drink to that” They all proceeded to order their drinks and dinner, ready to make the most of the evening.
They spent the next hour and a half talking about how life was, JJ and Emily told them about the trip they made to Italy to celebrate their three years of marriage, Penelope told them a funny story about a blind date gone wrong, Luke shared he was getting promoted at work, overall life was good for all of them and it made the evening much more pleasant even though four of their best friends weren’t there.
“There’s this guy at work who I think would be great for you” JJ commented while eating her dessert.
“I don’t know if I should trust you to set me up anymore, last time was horrible” Penelope replied remembering the last date she had with one of JJ’s prospects for her.
“No, this time it’ll be better, I promise”
“I think you’d like this guy, Pen” Emily said while sipping on her glass of wine.
Luke nudged her with his elbow “Come on, chica, let JJ set you up, it can’t be worse than the time the guy bursted into tears when you told him you were a Libra”
They all laughed, followed by a loud sigh from Penelope “God, I missed this so much, being with you, laughing at my terrible luck when it comes to dating”
“I missed it too” Emily interjected “Being together not laughing about your love life”
“I gotta say it” Luke started “I love our friends’ kids so much but I miss the times when it was just the eight of us, you know?”
Before JJ or Emily said anything Penelope spoke “I know, I mean I’m also super grateful those little sweethearts joined the fam but on nights like these I get all nostalgic reminiscing the pre-babies era”
JJ and Emily shared a look and both Penelope and Luke knew something was up “What’s that?” Luke wondered.
Emily took JJ’s hand “Well, one of the news we wanted to share tonight was that JJ and I are adopting” Penelope and Luke were wide eyed “We actually started the process a few months ago but didn’t know when we were going to be matched and we didn’t expect it to happen soon but we’ve been matched, it’s sweet one year old girl” JJ finished telling their news to their friends.
“Her name is Emerson and she’s coming home with us in a couple weeks” Emily waited anxiously to see their reactions.
Penelope was the first one to speak “Oh my God, you guys, congratulations, a new addition to the fam” She was genuinely excited with her news and so was Luke.
“It’s great to hear this, you’ll be amazing moms” He turned to Penelope “We’re getting a new niece”
“I know, I know, look about what we said earlier-” JJ cut her off.
“Oh, it’s ok, we know kids aren’t really your thing so it’s alright” Luke was the only one who noticed how Penelope’s face changed for one second, she quickly smiled again, hoping no one noticed the flash of disappointment in her face at JJ’s words.
After saying their goodbyes and promising to reunite once Emerson was settled with JJ and Em, Luke and Penelope took another cab to go back to their apartments. She was silent and Luke didn’t know if it was a good idea to ask what was on her mind, he debated whether or not to start a conversation.
Before thinking it twice he started “So was it true?” Luke questioned and Penelope tilted her head.
“What do you mean?” Luke licked his lips.
“What JJ said about kids not being your thing” Penelope sighed and bit her lip, of course Luke had noticed her expression when she heard their friend saying this.
“She was referring to both of us, Luke” She tried to avoid answering his question.
“I know but in my case she’s wrong I would like kids” She looked at him with raised eyebrows and a smirk in her face.
“I didn’t know that, newbie” Luke shrugged “I honestly assumed you were the no kids kind of guy”
“Are you kidding me? My mom would never forgive me if I never gave her grandchildren” Penelope laughed imagining Elena, Luke’s mom, lecturing him to give her grandchildren.
“So you’re doing it for your mom then?”
“No, I really wanna be a dad, someday, a tiny human that’s half me, that would be great” She patted his shoulder.
“You’re right, that would be great” He looked at her expectantly “What?”
“What about you, Penelope? Would you like to have kids?” She pressed her lips together.
“Yes, I would love that” She admitted after a few seconds of being silent “The thing is I have no one, sometimes I think I should’ve said yes to Kevin when he proposed, I’d have children by now”
“You’re gonna find someone” She rolled her eyes “You will, you are gorgeous and an amazing woman”
“Have you ever wondered if you’ve already met your person? You know, the one you’re gonna end up with?” Penelope questioned.
“No, I haven’t met my person, I know that much, but I will and so will you, Pen, you’ll see” He put his arm around her and she rested her head on his shoulder, starting to feel sleepy, they remained like that until they got home, said goodnight and went to sleep to their apartments.
Almost four months later, Luke and Penelope were hosting a baby shower for Matt and Kristy, it turned out that time they had cancelled dinner with them was because Kristy was having a hard time during the pregnancy.
Everyone was there, including friends they hadn’t seen in a while, all of them with their significant others: Spencer, Tara, Alex, Kate, David, Aaron and Elle.
At one point of the party, Penelope escaped from the conversations about marriage and kids, and she stood in a corner trying to go unnoticed, during the entire gathering Luke had kept an eye on her, since they were planning the party, he noticed the subject was still a sensitive for her.
“We did good” He said as he leaned against the wall.
Penelope looked around his place, everyone seemed to be having a good time “Yeah, I think it turned out pretty well” He offered his glass of wine, it was almost full “Thank you”
“I’ve always known we were a dynamic duo” This earned him an eye roll from Penelope, he expected her to say something else but she remained quiet and so did he.
She took in the scene of her friends with their children, the look on their eyes were like nothing she had ever seen before, she knew these people from a very long time and there was always a huge difference between the before and after having kids.
“I want this” Penelope said out of the blue.
“Ok” Luke said unsure as to what she was referring, he thought about it for a second “I can plan a birthday party for you next year, Pen”
“Not a party, I want to have a baby” He didn’t know what to say to that but just in that moment JJ walked over to them with Emerson in her arms.
“This little one is looking for her fairy godmother” Emerson reached her arms to Penelope and she happily took the one year old in her arms.
“Did you, little Em?” She kissed her goddaughter’s head “I was missing you too” The baby babbled, content to be with her auntie.
“I’ll go grab some cake” JJ turned around and walked towards the kitchen and Kristy came to join the three of them.
“Thank you guys so much for this” She offered a warm smile “I promise you we’re done after this one” She announced while she rubbed her round belly.
“Oh don’t mind us, you have as many babies as you guys like” Luke joked and when they laughed, little Emerson joined them with a giggle.
“No, we’re definitely done, it’s your turn to find someone and start giving us nieces and nephews, right, Emerson?”
“I think this one will get a little sister or brother before we know it, Em and JJ are over the moon being moms” Penelope stated.
“I know” Kristy agreed “It’s been really touching seeing them in this new phase”
“I hope someday you guys get to see me being a mom” The nostalgia was obvious in her voice.
“It’s gonna happen” Kristy assured her “And I can’t wait, Penelope” She smiled to her and then proceeded to go with her husband.
Seeing Penelope with Emerson and the rest of their friends’ children left him thinking, after the baby shower was over Penelope stayed to help him clean even when he told her to call it a night and go to  get some rest, but she refused, they spent the next couple hours tidying up the place, once they were done Luke offered to order takeout but she didn’t accept and went to her apartment.
Luke tried to get some sleep but he kept turning and tossing in his bed, his thoughts not letting him rest, he tried everything but ultimately failed, he looked at his alarm clock, it was almost 2:00 AM. Unable to get his idea out of his mind, he got up and walked towards the elevator, he needed to tell Penelope what was happening on his mind.
Once he got down to her floor, he stood outside her door for a few minutes thinking maybe it was too out of line to make her the proposition he was thinking about. He pressed his lips together and rubbed his palms in his pajama pants, trying to muster enough confidence to knock on her door.
  He sighed and knocked a couple times.
Luke tried a few more times, wanting to tell Penelope what he was thinking about, after all it was his best friend, if she didn’t accept, they could laugh it up and continue as if nothing happened.
Penelope opened the door “What’s up, Luke?” She put on her glasses as her eyes adjusted to the light.
“Can I come in?”
“Yeah, what’s wrong?” Penelope yawned.
He stared at her and took a deep breath “I want a baby” Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Are you… Drunk?” She questioned and he shook his head.
“I want to be a dad” He blurted.
“Ok? Well I know everyone calls me the fairy godmother but it’s not like I can make a baby appear and give it to you”
“What if you could?” Luke objected.
Penelope let out a frustrated sigh “Are you high?”
“No, Penelope, you want to be a mom and I want to be a dad, we haven’t found our person but we’re best friends I thought maybe we could try this”
“How would that even work? Luke, what the fuck?”
“Look, there are different types of families, two best friends having a kid and then finding their person doesn’t sound too crazy to me” He insisted.
“Are you being serious right now?” Penelope wondered, trying to examine his face to see if he was messing with her.
“I am” He walked to her and took her hand “Think about it, we’re best friends, we have a baby and we split everything 50/50 costs, responsibilities, and it will be good because we’re not attracted to each other, we won’t get to have married couple fights and all the complicated part” He offered a small smile to his friend who looked at him open-mouthed trying to process everything he was saying.
“I need some time to think about it” Luke smiled when he heard those words and let go of her hand.
“Alright, that’s ok” He walked towards the door “Let me know what you decide on, you know where to find me” As he was about to leave, he turned around and quickly walked to her to hug her.
“Go to sleep, Alvez”
“Garcia-Alvez has a nice ring to it” He whispered in her ear before she swatted at his chest, he rushed to the door and closed it behind him, leaving Penelope standing there, shocked at his proposition but also thoughtful, she walked to her bedroom and snuggled once again in her bed, trying to regain her sleep before Luke came to disrupt her mind.
Penelope and Luke were busy with work for the next couple weeks, until one night she texted him if she could come up to see him, he instantly replied with a yes and Penelope was on her way with an answer to his proposition. She let herself in and walked to his living room, he was watching TV.
“Hello stranger” He patted the couch, inviting her to sit beside him.
She plopped next to him and Luke put his arm around her without taking his eyes from the screen “How’s… life?”
“Good I guess?” He quickly shot her a look with an eyebrow raised “How about you?”
Penelope played with her hands “Did you mean what you said that other night?” Luke turned to her and took the remote control turning the TV off and giving her his undivided attention.
“About having a baby with you? Absolutely” His voice was firm and his face was serious.
“I’ve thought about it” She looked at him and he was waiting for an answer.
“And?” He questioned with raised eyebrows.
“Ok” Penelope stated in a whisper.
Luke smiled “Ok?”
“Ok” She returned the smile “You are right, there are different type of families and two friends having a kid doesn’t sound like the worst idea”
He leaned forward to her “Should we get to it? Like now?” Penelope jumped.
“No, not now but soon I guess, I’m not sure” She was suddenly self conscious, thinking that in an attempt to have a baby together, they’d need to have sex.
“We could do those fertility tests to know when you’re ovulating” Penelope looked surprised.
“How do you know about those?” She asked with amusement.
“What? Because I’m a guy I can’t know? Come on, Pen, I’m a modern men” She chuckled and looked at him waiting for the truth.
“Ok I saw it on a movie but I do want to know more about this, I plan on being there for you during the pregnancy, Lamaze classes and all”
“Alright, we can talk about all of that later, I’ll just go have dinner now” As she was about to get up, Luke took her hand.
“Don’t go, we can order something or I could cook something for you”
“Didn’t you already had dinner?” He nodded
“But you can have dinner here, you don’t need to eat all by yourself”
“Alright I’ll go check your fridge, I’m sure there’s some leftover takeout I can eat” Penelope went to the kitchen and Luke started to look for something she could also enjoy on the TV, this was their routine, having dinner at each other’s apartments whenever they could, talking about life, family, dates they’ve been, adding a baby to their dynamic didn’t sound like the worst idea.
“We are having a baby” Penelope announced to their friends, Luke was a little bit terrified of Derek’s reaction to the news, Penelope and him were very close.
“So you’re finally together?” Savannah said with a smile on her face.
Derek who was sitting beside his wife started grinning, he knew this day would come “I’m happy for the both of you”
“Uhm, no, we’re not together, we’re just having a kid” Savannah’s and Derek’s face changed into frowns.
“Oh” Savannah said smiling again, trying not to show her confusion, she wanted to be supportive of her friends, especially Penelope, she was Derek’s best friend.
“So how far along are you, baby girl?” Derek wondered with a more serious expression.
“I’m not pregnant yet, we just decided to have a baby”
“It’s because we both want to be parents so w-we came up with this idea” Luke added.
“Well, that’s great, isn’t it, babe?” Savannah squeezed Derek’s knee for him to say something supportive.
“Yeah, yeah, it is” He tried his best to offer an honest smile “Hank would love to have another cousin, especially coming from his fairy godmother”
Penelope smiled at Luke reassuring him that everything was ok, he had expressed his concerns over Derek’s reaction but as close as Penelope and Derek were, this was her decision.
Later that evening Penelope offered to help Derek to do the dishes and he was glad he would have a moment alone with her.
“Are you sure about this, baby girl? The whole having a baby with Luke thing?” She noted the worry in his voice, she finished drying the last plate.
“I am, it’s not like we are getting any younger” She shrugged and leaned on the kitchen counter, he shot her a concerned look “Hey, if you weren’t married I’d go to you for this” She joked nudging him with her elbow “Just imagine your DNA and mine, that kid would be something else” They both laughed.
“I can only imagine how that’d conversation would go” Derek commented while drying his hands.
“I actually can’t, I mean Luke was really the one that came up with the subject”
“Was he now?” He asked with an arched brow
“Stop it, it’s not like that” She rolled her eyes “We’re friends, that’s all we are and all we’re going to be”
Derek shook his head and let out a sigh “Alright, if you’re sure then just know you have us for support, questions, help, anything you need, sweetness, and I better be godfather”
Penelope got teary eyed, it was really important to her to count on Derek for this new adventure, he was her most precious friendship, so listening to him saying those words made her feel more at ease, she was sure of her decision but that didn’t mean she wasn’t terrified of the changes coming up.
Soon all of their friends heard the news from Penelope and Luke, Matt and Kristy were very supportive, mostly because in their eyes those two belonged together, they thought that maybe for them the baby had to come first then they’d realize how perfect they were for each other despite their differences. A contrast from Emily’s and JJ’s reaction, JJ had always been super protective of Penelope, and she thought this was a terrible idea where Penelope would end up being hurt, Luke was her friend as well and knew he wasn’t a bad guy but raising a kid with someone was complicated even when you were in a serious relationship with someone you were in love with, Emily wasn’t a fan of the idea either, someone was bound to get hurt and no matter who, their kid would have to pay the consequences, they didn’t explicitly voiced their concerns but neither did they applaud their decision.
Kirsty, JJ brought their kids at Savannah and Derek’s for a playdate, and it was only a matter of time before the subject was brought up.
“So what do you guys think about Pen and Luke’s plan?” JJ asked watching Hank helping Emerson to get the toys she wanted.
“Well I hope she gets pregnant soon, so their baby can be close to this little one in age” Kristy replied while rubbing her stomach.
“It’s gonna be interesting” Added Savannah while taking a sip of wine.
JJ squinted and looked at them “Don’t you think it’s crazy for them to go through it? Penelope is too sensitive, I’m not even sure she’s not feeling something for him already, what if she gets her heart broken?”
“It may not be ideal but…” Savannah shrugged her shoulder and pressed her lips “It’s their decision and I don’t think anything we say will change their minds”
“They want to be parents, they are planning this and seemed excited, I don’t think it’s the worst thing”
The blonde woman remained silent, she was still unsure it was the right choice but everyone seemed to be on board so she tried to be supportive of Luke and Penelope, hoping with all her heart they they’d prove her worries were silly and that they would make it work.
The day had finally come, they were trying tonight and Penelope was a bundle of nerves, Luke on the other hand was excited, lately his desire to be a father was getting stronger, all of his co-workers talked about their experiences in fatherhood and even though they shared both, the good and the bad, he was anxious to experience it firsthand.
“Alright I’m ready” Penelope announced as she entered his apartment in her mermaid nightie and fluffy robe with unicorn slippers, Luke smiled at the sight of her, soon with all the confidence she had mustered, Penelope straddled his waist.
“A ‘hello, how are you?’ would be nice” He joked and she lost all confidence, the blood traveled to her face and she stepped away from him but Luke took her hand and pulled her so she was sitting next to him “I’m kidding, it’s j-just I don’t know, I’m using humor to lighten up the mood”
“I’m mortified, Luke” She admitted with closed eyes “We’re having sex”
“It can’t be that bad, I know it won’t be bad” Penelope opened one eye.
“How could you know?” Luke shot her a smirk and a wink.
“If we’re comfortable enough to have a baby together then I’m comfortable enough to confess I’ve had some dreams”
Her eyes shot open “LUKE!” Penelope’s voice raised with surprise.
“That’s exactly how it sounded” He joked and if Penelope wasn’t red before she was now.
“Oh my God, stop, I don’t know if that makes me feel better or not” Luke laughed, not really understanding why she was so worried.
“Come on, chica, it’s gonna be alright” He placed a strand of her out of her face.
She sighed and sat up straighter “Ok, let’s do it”
Luke caressed her cheek “Are you sure?”
Penelope swallowed and nodded, he went on to kiss her and after a few seconds she started laughing.
“Pen, this is not helping my confidence” He commented as he pulled away, Penelope rested her forehead on his.
“I’m sorry, it’s just, you know I laugh when I feel awkward” Luke softly placed his hands on her shoulders and got up.
He extended out his hand to her “Let’s go to the bedroom” Penelope looked hesitant “If you don’t feel like doing this today, we can do it some other day, it’s ok”
“No, I want to, it’s just… Weird”
“So I shouldn’t have lit the candles or put a million rose petals on the bed then?” Penelope rolled her eyes, he was teasing her to that one time a guy had done that and it was a huge turn off for her.
“Shut up, shut up, shut up, I hate your mouth so much”
Luke loved to mess with her “I bet you a hundred bucks you won’t be saying that in a few”
“Fuck you, newbie” Penelope spat.
HIs hands signaled to himself “Be my guest” This time he saw the eye roll on her face accompanied with annoyment and he decided to stop his teasing “Alright, alright, look, I know you like fresh sheets and I even used that softener you like, let’s go to bed and… Do this”
“I need a minute” She went to the bathroom and Luke sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for her, he licked his lips, hoping she wasn’t regretting everything, soon Penelope came back and stood between his legs.
“Ok, shut up for real this time and let’s do this” She placed her hands on each side of his face.
“One baby coming up” Penelope facepalmed “... In nine months, th-” She kissed him in an attempt to shut him up for good, Luke immediately responded and placed his hands on her hips.
Once they were done, they remained on his bed, both were hopeful that everything was on their side so within the next couple months they could see a positive pregnancy test, Penelope’s awkwardness was all gone, she figured she was making a big deal of the whole thing, having sex with Luke wasn’t bad and she actually had enjoyed it more than she thought she would.
“Shouldn’t you lift your legs up or something?” Luke suggested.
He didn’t see her rolling her eyes “Is this another thing you saw in a movie?”
Luke turned to her “Maybe”
“Let’s go to sleep Luke” She turned to the other side and fell asleep easily.
That night Luke had another dream with Penelope, except this time, in his dream they were a family, they were even married and had twins, he woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it, he remembered the joy he felt in his dream and allowed himself to imagine how life would be if that scenario became a reality, after a few minutes he shook his head, Penelope was just his friend, there was no interest in being more than that from either side.
They decided to give it a few tries, to increase the chance for them to get pregnant, the next times weren’t awkward except for one time where Luke came in unannounced.
“Pen” He called for her entering her apartment “Chica, let’s get to baby making, there’s a game I really want to catch later” As he finished his sentence he reached Penelope’s living room only to find her sitting there having dinner with a guy, Luke’s eyes widened, she was going to kill him probably.
“Uhm, I think you already have plans for tonight” The guy said while getting to his feet.
“Wait, Joe, it’s-” Penelope didn’t know exactly what to say.
“No, no, it’s ok, I’ll go, it was nice meeting you” He hurriedly got his messenger bag and walked out of the apartment.
Luke immediately apologized “I should’ve knocked, sorry, I’m really sorry” Penelope waved him off.
“A mutual friend set us up, she insisted a lot and I ended up saying yes” She sighed “But right now, I’m not interested in dating, not when I’m trying to have a baby with my friend, so it’s ok” He still felt terrible so he decided to skip the game and stayed to have dinner with her.
“Pen” Luke squeezed her hand “Are you actually gonna take the tests or are you just gonna stare at them?” She looked at him.
“Maybe if I stare them long enough they’ll get some sort of vibes from me and show us if that week of trying worked or not” He smiled sympathetically, six weeks had passed since that week and Penelope avoided taking the pregnancy tests, even though her period had been late, she was scared of seeing the results, Luke was understanding and supportive, he had a good feeling but he put himself in Penelope’s shoes.
“Come on, let’s go” He took the bag of pregnancy tests he had bought and tried to guide her to the bathroom but she didn’t move an inch “It’ll all be ok”
“What if it’s not?” Penelope asked in a whisper.
“Then we’ll get through it, together” She felt tears coming to her eyes, she was terrified of the results, whatever they may be, she knew they would have an impact to her.
Luke was open to keep trying if the results were negative but he didn’t know what Penelope wanted so he wanted to know what the tests actually ended up showing before bringing up the conversation. A few minutes later, he was waiting outside the bathroom for her, he was starting to get worried, she was silent.
“Penelope, can I come in?” No response, that didn’t help his nerves “Ok, I’m coming in” When he entered, he saw her face filled with what he believed to be surprise.
She barely smiled “It’s positive, all of them are actually” Luke’s lips spread into a wide smile.
“I knew I had a good feeling about this” He hugged her and kissed her hair, they were going to be parents.
The next few months flew by, soon they were getting ready to welcome the little one, true to his word Luke had been with Penelope as much as he could, whenever he wasn’t at work he was beside her learning together, reading books, attending classes, building baby furniture, reading Penelope’s favorite children’s books to the baby, feeling the baby kick for the first time, discussing names, imagining how life would be once the baby arrived.
None of them had been really interested in meeting new people during the pregnancy, until Phil, Luke’s friend insisted on setting him up with a doctor, after much insistence Luke accepted, not without asking first Penelope for advice on whether he should go out with her or not.
“She sounds great, you should do it, it’s been an eternity since you’ve gone on a date” Penelope mentioned rubbing her belly “I miss listening to your disastrous dates stories, they are quite entertaining” Luke glared at her and handed her the ice cream pint she had asked for.
“Ha-ha, you’re very funny” He pursed his lips together “I think I’m gonna tell Phil yes”
Penelope winked at him while licking ice cream off her spoon “Great, I’ll help you choose a nice outfit”
A week later Luke was out with Lisa, Phil’s friend, she was really nice, easy to talk with and gorgeous, she didn’t seem to freak out entirely when he brought up that he was about to be a dad, he was actually enjoying the night, for a second he saw that she seemed distracted and looking behind him.
“I’m sorry, Luke” She cut him off “I think there’s someone trying to get your attention” His brows furrowed as he turned around to find Penelope carrying her hospital bag, this immediately made him panic as he rushed to her.
“Are you in labor?” He took her by the shoulders and examined her.
“Yes, my water broke” Luke was in shock for a second “An hour ago but it is until now that the contractions are getting frequent and…” She placed her hands on her shirt and clutched the fabric  “...Stronger”
“Oh my God, you should’ve called me the minute it happened, let’s go” He tried to take her hand but she managed to remind him to give an explanation to the nice woman that looked at them with empathy in her eyes.
Soon they were settled in the hospital room, Penelope wasn’t ready to push yet but both her and the baby were doing fine.
“You were supposed to go into labor in two weeks” Luke was scared this was a sign something was wrong but after some tests, doctors and nurses assured them everything looked normal.
“I guess we already know newbie junior is antsy like daddy”
“We don’t even know if the baby’s a boy”
“Oh newbie is gender neutral, I’ve been calling them this without actually thinking it’s a boy or a girl”
Luke smiled and started to push some strands of hair out of her face “You’re being a champion, Pen, you’re handling everything amazingly”
Penelope laughed as she took deep breaths “Oh, don’t be fooled newbie, I’m freaking out and I might pull one of those ‘what have you done to me? I hate you’ lines just like in the movies”
“I’ll take it, chica, you can even punch me if you want, so I can experience at least a little bit of pain with you”
“I’ll keep that in mind” She joked.
Soon Penelope started to push and not even once she cursed at Luke, he held her hand, cleaned the sweat off her forehead and kept encouraging her to trust her body, Penelope was exhausted and sometimes she felt like she couldn’t go through it but then she remembered that after all the pain she would finally look her baby in the eyes and fall in love like she had never done before, she tried to remember everything she had learned from her doula, and within the hour she heard her baby’s cries.
Luke swore it was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard, while Penelope’s eyes focused on the baby who was being all cleaned up.
“Congratulations, it’s a boy” Doctor Kim said as she placed the newborn on his mother’s chest.
“Hello you” Penelope whispered with tears on her eyes, and Luke stood over her head watching his son “You couldn’t wait to meet us, little one” The small baby fuzzed.
“It’s alright, we couldn’t wait to meet you either” Luke said while seeing him open his eyes for a brief moment before he closed them and nuzzled to her mom’s chest.
“He’s here, Luke” She stated without taking her eyes off her boy “We did it”
The following morning, the new parents were still living in their own bubble with their son, he was healthy and so was Penelope.
“Ok so we agreed on Bowie, right?” Penelope tried to see if Luke would budge.
“No, sorry chica, we didn’t”
“Alright, Ziggy then” Luke laughed softly, she kept suggesting those ever since she got pregnant.
“Nope”
“Ok…” She tapped the baby’s little nose “David it is”
“What about Julian?” He suggested and Penelope felt in her heart that was perfect for him.
“Julian” She bit back the smile and thought about messing with him for a little “I guess we’ll go with your suggestion”
“Hey, I’m trying to-” Penelope finally looked up to him and smiled widely.
“I’m kidding, I love it, he looks like a Julian” His tiny lips turned up in what looked like a tiny smile “See? Jules agrees” She passed the tiny bundle to Luke and he happily held his son.
“Hello young Julian Garcia-Alvez, we love you more than you could ever imagine”
Later that day Derek and Savannah came to visit, they couldn’t wait one minute more to meet the new addition to their lives.
“Hello, hello” Savannah announced as she carefully opened the door and peeked her head “We’re here to meet the handsome boy”
“Ah! We were waiting to see you” Penelope was beaming at the thought of her found family meeting her boy “Come on in”
Derek entered eyeing the three of them, he was glad for her best friend, she had always wanted to be a mom and now she had finally become one.
“Look at that, my baby girl had a baby boy” Derek saw the tiny baby in Luke’s arms, he was familiar with the look on Luke’s face, it was one of pure love and adoration, the one he had for Hank when he had been born.
“Let me present to you to Julian Garcia”
Derek raised an eyebrow at Penelope “It’s Julian Garcia-Alvez but I guess Luke’s too lazy to say the full name”
Luke didn’t even seem to hear them mention his name, he was to absorbed in his son “I love the name, he’s gorgeous, congratulations guys” Savannah squeezed Penelope’s shoulder.
After a conversation about how Penelope had to interrupt Luke’s date and how was Julian’s birth, all while his auntie held little Jules, Savannah suggested Luke to go and get some tea and muffins, she wanted to give Derek and Penelope a moment so they could have a conversation of their own, ever since she had started dating Derek she knew him and Penelope shared a really special friendship and that sometimes they needed a moment just them alone to talk about life.
“We’ll be right back” Luke glanced at Penelope and Julian and smiled at them before closing the door behind him.
They remained silent for a few minutes as they only focused on Julian who was now wide awake.
“How are you feeling?” Derek asked softly.
“I feel like I’m in a dream” She admitted “I can’t believe this sweet little boy was given to me”
He placed his hand in the side of her face “I already know you’re gonna be the most amazing mom to Julian” Penelope leaned into his touch.
“Thank you for being there, both you and Savannah were the two people that were the most supportive, I’m still not sure JJ and Em are totally on board with this and Matt and Kristy they have five kids now so we don’t get to see them much but you and Savannah were always there for us”
“And we plan on continue being there for the three of you” Penelope couldn’t hold back her tears “May I?” She carefully handed Julian over to him.
“Can I confess something? I’m scared about how this is gonna go, I mean with Luke, how we’re gonna make this dynamic work”
“Baby girl, are you sure you don’t have feelings for him?” Penelope smiled.
“I love the guy, I mean he’s the father of my baby but no, there’s no feelings there” She was being honest but still Derek felt uneasy, thinking the situation could change and Penelope would end with a broken heart.
“Ok, well I’m sure you will make it work, maybe it won’t be easy but both of you are very determined and at the end of the day it’s this little guy you’ll be doing everything for so I’m sure you’ll be ok”
“Oh, chocolate thunder, you always know what to say” Penelope stated seeing Derek smiling at Julian “I wanted to ask you something, well, Luke and I did”
“Anything”
“We were wondering if Savannah and you would like to be Jules’ godparents?”
“Oh, Penelope, I would’ve disowned you if you hadn’t asked, of course, we would be honored to be his godparents”
“I love you, Derek Morgan” She reached out for his hand.
He looked at her and squeezed her hand “And I love you Penelope Garcia” He looked down at his new godson “I love you too Julian”
That day after Derek and Savannah, Luke’s family, and the rest of their friends had visited them to meet Julian.
Penelope came out of Julian’s room, she had put him down to sleep, already knowing he was going to wake up in a few hours, three months had already come and gone, neither could believe how fast time was passing by, they had adjusted quite nicely.
“Ok, I have some more things I need you to store in your apartment” She signaled some things next to the door, they were some coats, a pair of skis, shoe boxes, even her ukulele was being forgotten at the moment and since it was taking space it had to be stored on Luke’s place, they had been doing that ever since they’ve brought Julian home.
“Have I ever told you you own way to many shoes?” Luke commented rubbing his eyes.
“All the time” She smiled “I still don’t care”
“Alright, I’ll take them now and don’t worry about waking up later, I’ll come down to feed him” She raised an eyebrow.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course, it’s around 2 when he wakes up, right?” Luckily for them, Julian was the greatest baby, he easily fell into routine, he woke up around the same time each night, so Luke had alarms and he came down so it wasn’t only Penelope waking up at night.
“Yeah”
“Ok, goodnight”
For Luke it felt as if he had just closed his eyes when the alarm went off, he quickly got up and went to Penelope’s place, he opened the fridge to find the different bottles, each of them were labeled:
One glass of wine.
Couple of Margaritas.
Pure.
Stressful day.
Pure.
He snorted and grabbed one of the bottles labeled as ‘pure’ and proceeded to warm it, he didn’t hear any crying when he came in so he assumed Julian had yet to wake up demanding to be fed, a few minutes later the three month old woke up and Luke was ready to feed him, he sat in the rocking chair with the baby to his chest, once Julian was done with the bottle, he burped him and sat a little bit more with him, he loved those moments were he could hold his son and sing the lullabies his mom and grandma used to sing to him when he was a kid.
He was loving being a dad and co-parenting with Penelope, he practically lived there, he would leave only at night but even then, he’d come back and sometimes would end up crashing at the couch waking up at Penelope’s. Luke placed Julian on his crib and left the room, as he walked out of the room he saw a photo of the three of them in the hallway and smiled, everything felt right.
Luke hurried through the stairs, he was coming home from work and Penelope was calling him nonstop to get home, he didn’t wait for the elevator and took the stairs, once he opened the door, he was met by a crying Julian and a crying Penelope.
“I’ve done everything and he won’t stop crying, he hates me, Luke” She said through her sobs.
Luke felt bad for Penelope, she was more sensitive than usual, the hormones were to blame, he went to them and took Julian in his arms.
“I’m his mom and he already hates me” She cleaned her tears off her face.
Luke started to sway him from side to side “He can’t hate you now, wait until he’s sixteen”
“LUKE!” Soon Julian stopped crying in Luke’s arms “How the fuck did you do that?” She asked in surprise.
“Oh, I don’t know I guess he loves me but he hates you” He saw the tears on her eyes “I’m kidding, I’m kidding”
Penelope sighed and sat on the couch “I’m returning to work soon and we don’t have a nanny yet”
“I know, I asked around some of my coworkers and they recommended me some agency” She smiled.
“That’s great, but we need to be clear on something” He looked at her with a frown “You can’t fuck the nanny”
“Penelope! I wasn’t planning on doing that”
“Ok, just saying, newbie”
By the end of the week they had hired Max to be Julian’s nanny, Penelope was faced with another challenge, learning how to manage going to work and being a mom, soon she discovered it was hard but she could handle it, she missed going to work, seeing her co-workers and having an excuse to actually put on some decent clothes and makeup.
 Matt, Kristy, JJ, Emily and their six children were visiting Luke, Penelope and Julian, they hadn’t seen them since the hospital, they were curious to see how ‘the experiment’ as Emily called it was going.
“I’m not gonna lie, I think the reason they didn’t invite us over sooner it’s because they’re having a hard time adjusting” Emily spoke up.
“You think? I don’t know” Matt replied.
“I mean it wouldn’t be a surprise, becoming a parent it’s not easy” Kristy added to Emily’s comment.
“We’re about to see” JJ said as they all stepped out of the elevator, it took five seconds for Penelope and Luke receive them, he had Julian on a baby carrier close to his chest.
“Hello!” They said in unison, after a round of hugs and greetings, they went to the living room.
“Please, get yourselves some drinks, I made some tapas, I’ll go get them” Penelope announced and JJ joined her in the kitchen.
“Hey, everything looks great” She meant it.
“Thanks, we manage to keep everything in place but Jules is about to start crawling so next time you won’t find a tidy place” Penelope laughed.
JJ frowned “Is Luke living here?”
“No, well, kind of, he spends a lot of time with Jules” She shrugged it off, it wasn’t a big deal for them.
“Penelope…” JJ sighed “What’s this that you have going on?” Penelope rolled her eyes at her words, it wasn’t the first time she questioned it and certainly wouldn’t be the last.
“We’re raising a baby, he stays over, sue me” JJ’s eyes widened “No, he stays over but nothing happens, I’m not attracted to him and he’s not attracted to me, it’s all fine”
“Ok, then it’s time for you to get yourself out there again”
“Actually I’ve been thinking about it”
“Say no more” Her friend winked at her and Penelope just went long with it, JJ said about a co-worker of hers that sounded dreamy. Once they returned with some appetizers, everyone was settled, Luke had taken the older kids to the other room where they put on a movie for them and gave them some sandwiches and toys so they could be entertained.
“It looks like you’re doing amazing, man” Matt said as he placed Rose on the ground, she was eager to follow Emerson,
“Yeah, it is, Pen and I are convinced we got very lucky with Julian, he’s great”
“Wait until he starts walking” Emily commented while she watched Emerson closely, she was walking around the adults, observing what she could grab, unfortunately for her, the apartment was childproof so there was nothing she could really play with other than Julian’s toys and her own.
“I know I told Luke that by then I’m sure I’ll have to give up my high heels” Penelope said while sitting down next to him and absentmindedly resting her hand in Luke’s thigh “Can you imagine me running around a kid in five inch heels?” They all laughed and Luke placed an arm around her, everyone could see the look on his face as Penelope continued talking, Matt and Kristy shared a knowing look and JJ was just starting to think Penelope was lying about “nothing going on”.
The rest of their visit went by quite quickly, all of them enjoying their time together, at some point, Penelope realizes it’s their first time her and Luke can relate to the parenting experiences and struggles, even though Derek, Savannah and Hank couldn’t make it, her heart fills with joys as she sees most of her found family together.
“You’re almost there, buddy” Luke was sitting on the floor, multitasking, he folded laundry and watched Julian as he tried to stand using Luke’s arm as support.
“Breakfast is ready for my favorite guys” Penelope announced carrying two plates “Here, put these on the coffee table, I’ll go get Jules’ plate” She leaned down to carry him “Come on little guy, let’s get those hands clean”
While Luke and Penelope both sat on the floor, Julian used the coffee table for support and finally managed to stand up and grab some of his breakfast, he was a good eater, they stared at him, amazed by the little boy who owned their hearts.
“Can you believe he’s almost nine months? He’s getting so big” She sighed nostalgically.
“I know, I feel like in no time he’ll be going to preschool” Luke added as he took a bite of his own breakfast.
“Don’t even start” Jules looked up to his mom “Yeah, baby, what if we slow down a little with this whole growing up so fast? Can you do that for mommy?” Luke was also looking at Penelope, he was thinking about how wonderful the last year and a half of his life had been, since finding out about the pregnancy to that very moment, he felt extremely content to have Julian and Penelope in his life.
“Ma!” He exclaimed and went back to grab a fistful of scrambled eggs.
Luke smiled at his son then he turned to Penelope “You know? I don’t think it’s been that hard, all of this”
“Right?” She took a sip of juice “I feel the same, we make a good team, newbie”  Just as Luke was about to say something else, Penelope’s phone dinged, she quickly took it and smiled at the screen, he remained silent and took Julian and sat him between his legs and put his plate in front of him so he could continue eating his breakfast.
“You’re done, Julian” He said to his son as the baby looked up to him with wide eyes “Yeah, it’s gone, it’s all in your tummy now, come on, let’s get you changed”
“Oh, I can change him, don’t worry” Penelope took her eyes off her phone.
“Alright, I’ll go wash these” He said as he took the dishes into the kitchen, trying to think who was Penelope texting.
A very happy Penelope entered the kitchen carrying a very happy Julian, they went to stand beside Luke as he finished drying the plates.
“You’re in a good mood” Luke stated trying to seem nonchalant.
Penelope couldn’t hold back the smirk “I am, I need to tell you something” She sat Julian in the kitchen counter “I’m going out with someone tonight”
Luke wasn’t sure why he felt a stinging sensation in his heart “Oh” He couldn’t think of something else to say.
Her smile soon changed into a frown “Is that ok? I thought this was my free night, but if you’ve got plans I can- “ Luke interrupted her.
“No, no, no, no plans at all” He tried his best to fake smile “It’s great, I’m happy for you, who’s the lucky guy?”
“His name is Sam, JJ set us up, we’ve been texting these past couple weeks and we decided to go out today”
“Great” Luke said without looking at her nor sounding very cheerful but Penelope failed to notice that.
Later that evening Penelope was a nervous wreck, she had facetimed JJ and Emily to voice her concerns about going on a date, she felt like she didn’t even remembered how to go on a first date, she remained sat on her bed, with her robe on, looking at the outfit her friends had helped her choosing, she thought about calling Derek, he was great at helping her when she wasn’t feeling her best self, as Luke passed her bedroom after putting Julian to bed, he stopped and saw that she didn’t have the happy look she had that morning.
He opened the door a little bit more and peeked at her “Hey, how is getting ready going? Everything good? Did he cancel?”
Penelope quickly looked up “No, it’s just that I’m nervous” As soon as she said she felt a little embarrassed “That’s stupid, isn’t it? Oh God” Luke entered and sat beside her and took her hand.
“Not at all, it’s normal to be nervous before going on a first date, but I’m sure you’ll be fine, from what I gathered he’s a great guy”
Her eyebrows raised “Did you eavesdropped my conversation with the girls?”
“Pen, you were literally sitting across Julian and I”
“Oh, that’s true, sorry, I was a little distracted then” She confessed running her hands through her hair.
“Should I prepare some tea for you and your nerves?” He suggested, not liking to see her stressed and thinking she shouldn’t be worrying, it was impossible she wouldn’t blow the guy’s mind, she was a catch.
Penelope placed one hand on the side of his face “Luke, that would be wonderful, you are a gift”
“Alright, you continue getting ready and I’ll bring your tea in a moment” Just as he was about to leave, Penelope called him “Yeah?”
“Nevermind” She sighed and stood up to start doing her hair.
“Penelope? Come on, you can tell me anything” He leaned in the door frame, waiting for her to say something, instead she turned around and opened her robe, she was in her underwear.
“Do you think my body is ready to, you know, get out there?” Luke ignored the sensations the image in front of him caused to his body and walked to her, putting his hands on either side of her face.
“You are beautiful, Penelope, don’t ever think you’re not, you could’ve gone out on a date the next month after having Julian for all I know” She blushed and looked down “I mean it, you are the whole package, you’re smart, kind, witty, and sexy as hell so stop doubting yourself and if for some reason this guy doesn’t seem to be into you, then we’ll tell JJ, her friend is out of his mind” He kissed her hair.
“You really have a way with words, Alvez” She managed to look up and smiled “We need to find you someone as well” He pressed his lips together and that’s when he knew he didn’t want someone else, he wanted Penelope.
As he prepared her tea, he sat on a stool and tried to think when his feelings for her had changed, he was sure he didn’t feel that way before, or maybe he was but didn’t realize? He was so deep in his thoughts he didn’t listen the kettle whistling, he rushed to it so it wouldn’t wake Julian up but he was late, he went to get him and later appeared in Penelope’s room with Jules attached to his hip and nuzzled in his neck in one arm and a mug in the other.
“Here you go” He said placing it on her vanity.
“Oh thanks” She glanced at him through the mirror “And thanks for getting him, I can’t exactly stand up fast and move freely with these attached to my boobs” She laughed.
“It’s ok”
“Isn’t this sexy?” She joked “Hair curlers on my head, makeup half done and pumping breast milk” Penelope laughed, she felt much more relaxed after Luke’s words.
He managed to smirk, it was an amusing image but in that moment it was also a beautiful one to him, even though in some part of his heart he felt it was wrong seeing her getting ready to go out with someone else.
“Your mom doesn’t believe what I tell her, Jules, please don’t be like her when you grow up” Penelope swatted his stomach.
“Hey! Don’t put my baby against me” She reached to Julian and Luke got him closer to Pen “Go to sleep, my sweet boy, I love you” The sleepy baby barely registered his mom kissing his forehead.
Luke put Julian to sleep and half an hour later saw Penelope walk out the door, he tried to watch TV but got distracted every few minutes by his thoughts who were set on Penelope and how her date was going, he glanced at the clock every frequently and even at the door, hoping to see her come in and say she wasn’t going out anymore because she had realized it was him she wanted to be with.
He leaned back on the couch “Stop, Alvez” He said to himself, he thought about calling Matt but it was kinda late, so he decided against it, after what it seemed like an eternity, Penelope walked through the door, she quickly took off her shoes and coat, she didn’t see Luke until he spoke.
“Hey, how was it?” He said rubbing his eyes.
“Oh, sorry I didn’t mean to wake you”
 “It’s ok, I wasn’t sleeping well anyway, so did you have a good time?” Penelope smiled widely and nodded.
“JJ was right, he’s amazing, I-I think he could be the one, and I know it sounds precipitated to say that but...” Luke felt his heart break and couldn’t even focus on what she was saying, he felt his world starting to crumble down “Luke? Are you hearing what I’m saying?”
He snapped out of it “Yeah, yeah, I’m glad, Pen, uhm I guess we won’t have to complain to JJ about it” He rubbed his palms against his jeans and got up “I’m gonna call it a night, I’m gonna go up, ok? I’ll see you guys tomorrow”
“Ok, have a good night” She replied with the smile that had never left her lips since her date started, she really felt a connection with Sam.
A few weeks passed by and Luke called Matt to ask him if he wanted to go shoot some hoops with him, Matt found the urgency in his voice odd and was sure it was a bad sign, he agreed and met him at the basketball courts they frequented. As they started, Luke tried to tell him how he had felt ever since Penelope had started seeing Sam, he was going around about other things without saying what he actually meant.
At one moment when Luke tried to take the ball from Matt, he abruptly stopped and went to the bench signaling Luke to go with him.
“So you have feelings for Penelope” It was a statement not a question.
“That’s not what I-” Matt rolled his eyes.
“Cut the bullshit, Luke, I wasn’t asking, I know for a fact you do, it was bound to happen and that time we all went to your house, you looked at her the way I look at Kristy, the way Derek looks at Savannah”
“You should’ve told me then, maybe then she wouldn’t have gone out with mr. Wonderful”
“Hey, it wasn’t up to me to get your stubborn ass to come to terms with your feelings, it was something you had to figure out on your own, unfortunately you did until you saw her with someone else” He drank water as Luke sat beside him running his hands through his hair.
“Should I talk to Derek? Ask him some advice?” Matt snapped his head at him.
“About what? Winning her over? I hate to say this but if she’s happy with this Sam guy, you shouldn’t interfere” Luke looked at him feeling almost betrayed “Dude, I know she’s feeling very happy, she’s talked to Kristy and she seems hopeful to see where it leads”
Luke sat with his head in his hands, not liking what he was hearing but knowing Matt was right, Luke himself had witnessed Penelope’s new happiness and excitement over the relationship “Why do I have to be so fucking stupid? Imagine if I had known before, maybe it would’ve been us in a relationship” Matt patted his shoulder.
“Hey, their relationship is fairly new, no one knows, maybe they’ll be done in a few months and you’ll have your chance, don’t lose all hope but don’t interfere”
He sit up “I guess you’re right”
“You should try and find someone as well, give it a try and see where it goes”
“Yeah, maybe I will, I don’t know” Matt got up.
“Alright, let’s resume the game ‘cause I’m beating your ass, Alvez” Luke rolled his eyes and followed his friend.
A few days later, after getting some groceries Luke had encountered with Lisa, the woman he was on a date with the day Penelope had gone into labor, he remembered how nice she was and they agreed on meeting again sometime, soon after that they were dating and although he knew he still had feelings for Penelope, she was very happy with Sam, he had met him and he hated the fact that there wasn’t much to dislike about him. He was amazing to Penelope and Julian, he was attentive, very respectful, kind, and the list went on, Luke was starting to come to terms that maybe Penelope and Sam were going to become permanent at some point and it did hurt him to think about it, but then he remembered he had Lisa, who was also an incredible person that was very understanding of his co-parenting situation.
It was almost New Year’s and the entire gang were going to a cabin to spend it together, it was the first trip since Julian was born and Penelope and Luke brought significant others, everyone was excited to spend the holiday together.
Penelope was packing her suitcase for the trip, Luke had packed Julian’s the day before so she only had to worry about her stuff, she remembered Luke had her skis and went up to ask him if he could take them in his car. As the door opened she was met with a smiling Lisa, the one year old in Penelope’s arms squealed happily.
“Isa!” He extended his arms to her and Lisa looked at Penelope to which the blonde nodded and allowed Julian to go with her before asking to be down.
“Pen! You’re here, are you ready?” Luke greeted her.
Penelope swallowed unable to get her eyes off Lisa who was helping Julian to walk “Uhm yeah, almost ready, I was wondering if you could take my skis?”
“Sure thing, I already loaded them in the car”
“Alright, we’ll get going” Penelope announced wanting to have his son back in her arms.
“Hey, if you want we can take Jules” Luke suggested and before Penelope could say anything Lisa spoke.
“Oh, absolutely, we could do that” Penelope gave them a tight lipped smile and clasped her hands together.
“Alright if you want to, it’s alright, I mean, if you’re sure”
“Of course, he’s the sweetest boy, aren’t you Jules?” Julian hugged Lisa’s leg and Penelope felt something she didn’t know how to label.
“Ok then, I’ll see you guys later”
“Wait Pen, I’ll go down with you to get Jules’ stuff” Luke walked with her to the elevator and for the first time in years, there was an awkward silence, at least that’s how it felt to Penelope whereas to Luke was just a normal silence.
“Is it okay that Julian goes with us, right?” He turned to her.
“Oh, yeah, totally” She mirrored his actions.
“I’m really looking forward to this trip, it’s the first time JJ, Em, Derek and Savannah are gonna meet Lisa” Penelope shot him her best forced smile and nodded.
Luke was in fact, telling the truth, his relationship was in a good place, he felt hopeful about a future with Lisa, she was very clear by telling him that she was looking for something serious and it came as a surprise to him when he found himself telling Lisa, he was also expecting to be with someone for the long run and that they should work towards a relationship of that kind, he was finally moving on from Penelope.
Or so he thought.
The cabin they rented was beautiful, it was big but cozy at the same time, everyone, adults and kids, were excited to be spending the next few days there, getting to know Sam and Lisa a little bit more since everything indicated they could eventually be more present in their lives. Matt and Kristy entered carrying, what it seemed like twenty bags, followed by their five kids, David holding little Rose’s hand who was excited to be walking in the house.
“The Simmonses have arrived” Derek yelled as he walked over to them to help with their stuff.
“We have and we are ready for the kids to be with their uncles and aunts while mom and dad rest” Kristy joked placing the bags on the floor.
“You definitely deserve some relax time, you guys are saints” JJ said hugging the kids.
“Where are the others?” Mat asked.
“We’re here!” Penelope announced appearing from the kitchen walking hand in hand with Sam “I’d like you to meet Sam”
“Oh we’ve heard great things about you, it’s great to finally meet you, I’m Matt, this is Kristy, and these are Jake, David, Lily, Chloe and Rose” Sam shook hands with the married couple and high fived the kids.
“Nice to meet you all, I was looking forward to finally see you, I have two boys myself that are actually your age I think” He said to Jake and David “So if you want to play something maybe I can join you” Both kids eagerly nodded.
The next couple days, almost everyone seemed to be having a great time, except for Emily and JJ, they seemed a little bit off but no one dared to ask why, it was only at moments they would be quiet than usual and seemed to be a little bit out of it, they tried to put pieces together but no one seemed to have a clear idea of what was going on, they didn’t look distanced from each other nor from Emerson, so they tried to not interfere.
“Oh, I’m happy to see you’re feeling better, babe, are you joining us for breakfast?” Penelope said to Savannah who had missed previous breakfasts.
“Yes, I’ll be down in a minute” She replied while tapping Julian’s nose.
Penelope went down and found Sam helping the kids with their breakfasts, it was a funny and sweet sight, Jake, David, Chloe, Lily and Hank gathered around him as he placed pancakes on all of their plates.
“Look at you JJ, you finally got it right with Sam” Kristy teased her, JJ had the worst record setting up Penelope and it was a never ending joke between the group of friends.
The blonde woman rolled her eyes and smirked “If you ever decide to have a kid, Pen, I must be the godmother” She half joked.
“I don’t know, maybe eventually” Both Kristy and JJ snapped their heads at her “What? I think this is going somewhere, he has two kids, I have one but I don’t know”
“I can’t believe there’s something you don’t know, Pen” Luke’s voice made them turn around to see him walking from the hallway, having listened only the last part of what Penelope was saying “Good morning ladies, I made some coffee if you want”
“Thanks Luke, where’s Lisa?” Kristy questioned.
“Oh, she’s getting ready for the day, she’ll be out in a few”
Once they were all sitting in the large dining table, Derek called their attention, both him and Savannah had big smiles on their faces.
“We would like to tell you that next year we’ll need a bigger cabin” Savannah taking her husband’s hand.
Derek continued “There’s going to be not one, but two new Morgans causing trouble” The entire group erupted in cheers and congratulations, JJ’s eyes went immediately to her wife, she knew her and knew that it took everything in Emily to smile, they were going through some stuff.
Part of the group had decided to go skiing while the others preferred to stay at the cabin and drink some hot chocolate, Matt, Derek and Luke walked a few feet behind Sam, Lisa and JJ.
“So Morgan’s party of five? How are you holding up?” Matt asked Derek, he remembered the surprise, nervousness and excitement that came when receiving the news he was going to have twins.
“Oh man, I can’t believe it, I still am processing all of it, Hank’s four so I’m not even sure I remember exactly how life with a newborn is, let alone two” All along Luke and Matt noticed how his features softened.
“I bet you and Savannah will get the hang of it” Luke assured him.
“You know we got you guys, so anything we can help with, I’m sure there’s some stuff we have that we don’t use anymore but it’s in great shape that you could use” Matt added and Derek felt thankful for them, all of them.
“Now that I have a son maybe you’ll finally trust me to babysit”
“I’m not sure, we’ll see, we’ll see” Derek teased him and Luke scoffed.
“I vouch for him, Derek, I’m actually sort of proud of you, dude” Matt turned to Luke “It’s really warming to see you with Julian”
“I gotta agree with that, I was just messing with you Luke, what Matt is saying it’s true, I’ve loved to witness both you and baby girl, as parents to Jules”
“Thanks guys, it means a lot to have your support and to have you as a part of Julian’s life” Luke spoke from his heart but he also needed to point something out “Not to end the soft moment here, but did you see Sam’s face the other night when you called Penelope ‘baby girl’?”
“Oh I did, it took everything in me not to burst into laughter, Kristy actually kicked me in the shin beneath the table” Luke laughed.
“Honestly I’m so used to it that I didn’t notice but Savannah did and she told me to do something about it but Penelope assured me that she had explained everything to him and that he seemed fine with it, but I’ve toned it down a lot, I don’t know, I think this could be it for Penelope you know?” Luke swallowed, he had thought about it but wasn’t sure what to make of it.
Matt spoke up “They seem to be very serious, I like him”
“I guess I do too?” Derek shrugged, his mind remembering how just a few months ago he was convinced Luke was the one for Penelope, Luke and Matt eyed him curiously and that made him rephrase his words “I-I do like him, it’s just I’m super protective of her but he makes her happy so yeah” Luke refrained from offering his thoughts on Penelope’s relationship, he wasn’t sure what he made of it, how he felt, just then Lisa called out for him and he remembered he had an amazing woman in his life.
It was finally New Year’s Eve, the kids were all asleep and the adults were planning on enjoying dinner and drinks together, they were halfway through their dinner when Sam brought up an interesting subject.
“I have to say, I’ve been curious how did you come up with the idea of having a child together? Whose idea was it?” He wondered genuinely interested in listening the story.
“I… Don’t remember” Penelope tried to shrug it off, not wanting to discuss that in front of everyone.
“It was me actually, I had the idea, she had talked to me about wanting to be a mom and I wanted to be a dad and next thing we know we had Jules” Luke replied nonchalantly.
“The truth is he wanted this genepool for his kid, I mean, can you blame him?” Penelope joked while signaling herself.
“And have you thought what exactly are you gonna tell him when he’s older? About his parents being with other people” Lisa inquiried, her tone wasn’t rude at all.
The rest listened and focused on their plates, that was until a tipsy Emily decided to jump in the conversation.
“Oh, I want to listen to this, I bet they didn’t think about it”
“Well we might have talked about it once or twice but didn’t came up with a plan exactly” Penelope replied nervously, thinking it wasn’t any of their business, except Luke and hers.
“I’m sure you’ll do great, at least you were always aware that you were going to have the conversation, I never believed I had to until I got divorced” Sam interjected, regretting bringing up the subject.
“No, but that actually makes more sense to me, I mean why you decide that you’ll bring a child into a world with someone you don’t love” The alcohol started to make Emily talk way more than she intended to
JJ tried to stop her, she took her hand “Babe, stop” Emily shook her hand and ignored her suggestion.
“You were in love with your wife I assume, I understand shit happens, people get divorced all the time and have to talk about this with their kids but doing it deliberately? I can’t fucking understand it”
Luke cleared his throat “Em, with all due respect, that’s how you think but-” Emily cut him off.
“No, not only me, everyone on this table believed you were crazy for doing this” She slurred “We all thought having a kid with someone you don’t love wasn’t the brightest idea”
Penelope who had remained silent, couldn’t hold it anymore and started to speak “Ok Emily but how are you so sure we don’t love each other? I’ve known Luke for more than half of my life, he’s one of my closest friends” She took a deep breath trying not to raise her voice and continued “He has been there through the good and the bad more than any of you have, sure it’s because we’ve been practically neighbors for years but that doesn’t make it less valid, I know pretty much anything there is to know about him and I love him for who he is, I know why when we first met him he was kind of a loner, I know he’s not a great cook but he does a mean lasagna, I know he’s loyal and honest and has one of the kindest hearts ever, we have the same values, we have the same sense of humor, I know his position on just about everything and I wholeheartedly agree with him, what better man could I have possibly chose to be the father of my son? Huh? So please refrain from giving your opinion on something that’s not your business at all, Em” Luke seemed to be at loss of words, many different emotions were going through his heart, for a second he forgot why was Penelope telling all of this, because of Emily, and everyone else seemed to fade into the background, he wasn’t moving on with his life, he was deeply in love with Penelope Garcia.
“Well-” Penelope cut Savannah off
“And I know, I just know that no matter what happens in a year or two or ten, we’ll be fine, because we love each other” She finished feeling how her pulse had quickened.
Emily snorted “Alright if you say so, but let me tell you something, you seem fine now but life gets complicated, friends” She addressed the entire gang “You don’t know it yet but it does” She rushed to their bedroom and JJ goes after her not before muttering apologies to Penelope, Luke and the rest of their friends, everyone is uncomfortable and confused by Emily’s outburst.
Penelope is excited to see everyone and celebrate Luke’s birthday together, she’s rushes out of the cab to the restaurant, only to find Luke in the waiting area of the restaurant.
“Hi, happy birthday” Luke hugged her “Where’s everybody? I thought I was going to be the last one here?” She breathed out.
“Oh, it’s just us tonight” Penelope frowned but didn’t say a thing “Julian seemed really happy to be with his grandma” Luke tried to change the subject so she wouldn’t question him.
“Aw, he does love her, how’s your mom?” He took the chair out for her and then proceeded to take his sit.
“She’s doing alright, she asked me to say hi to you” He passed the message, knowing his mom wouldn’t forgive him if he forgot to do so.
“I should go and visit Elena one of these days, talking to her always lifts my spirits”
“Yeah, I’m sure she’d be thrilled to see you, she loves you, Pen” He leaned against the table and took her hand in his.
“She’s the sweetest, really” She adjusted her glasses and opened the menu “And where’s Lisa?”
“No Lisa tonight, she’s on duty” He lied, rubbing his beard.
Penelope pouted “Oh, I’m sorry, Luke” When he saw her sympathetic look he decided to cut the act.
“Don’t be, because it’s actually not true” Her face filled with confusion.
“Oh no, what happened?”
“Nothing, everything was great, she’s great” Luke looked down and felt it coming.
“Then what’s wrong?” Penelope asked with a furrowed eyebrows.
“Nothing’s wrong, I’m sure my mom would’ve loved her but…” He looked in her eyes and once again grabbed her hand “All I do when I’m with her is think about you and only you” Penelope mouth fell open, she felt the air removed from her lungs “I didn’t want her here tonight nor anyone really, I broke things off with her, I wanted my family with me and I realized you are my family” His voice broke “You and Julian are everything I need to get through life” The moment Penelope realized there were tears on his eyes, her own vision became blurry, she moved her chair to be next to him and leaned her head in his shoulder.
Next thing she knew Luke was lifting her chin and searching for her lips, she pulled away even before their lips touched “Luke, I’m with Sam”
“Oh, yeah, sorry I should allow you to talk to him before-” Penelope closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
“We’re moving in together” Luke forgot how to breathe for a moment “I met his kids a few months ago and we’ve been talking about taking the next step ever since and we found a great place, I’m sorry, Luke”
He looked confused “But what about all you said that time Emily questioned us?”
Penelope look dumbfounded “I-I, it wasn’t a lie, I meant everything that I said, I love you but I-I’m not-” She took the hair out of her face “I love you so much as a friend, I thought we were on the same page, I don’t know what-” Luke let her go and got up, he needed to get out of there “Luke, wait” Before Penelope could walk to him, he was gone, and she was left there not knowing what to do of his confession.
The truth was her and Sam were in a great place, they were looking forward to start a life together, they had even discussed marriage, Julian loved him, she loved Taylor and Benji, Sam’s kids, everything seemed to fall into place with him.
The next months after that, Luke and Penelope barely spoke unless it was regarding Julian, the times where they would just spend weekends together with their son were long gone, Julian still spent a lot of time with his parents just separately, Penelope was starting to pack their stuff, she felt terrible and she wanted Luke to lash out at her, to tell her off, yell at her for taking Julian to another house, instead all Luke ever did was remain distant, she couldn’t blame him but she missed her best friend.
Penelope sighed “What’s going on in that beautiful mind of yours?” Derek said, he had offered to help her packing the last stuff before she was out of the apartment.
“Do you think I’m making a mistake by moving in with Sam?” He frowned, not knowing exactly where that was coming from, she had seemed when she told him and Savannah the news.
“I think you should do what makes you happy, if-” Penelope didn’t let him finish his sentence.
“Do you think I should’ve given Luke and I a chance?” Derek’s eyebrows raised, he was surprised at her question.
“Why are you asking this?” Penelope bit her lip and then sat down on the floor, since there was no couch or chairs left, and proceeded to tell him what had happened a few months ago, as Derek listened he didn’t have it in him to be surprised by Luke’s feelings nor Penelope’s second guessing her decision.
“Look, baby girl” He started as he cleaned the tears falling on her cheeks “I still think you should do what makes you happy, and follow your heart, you shouldn’t do something because you feel obligated to, you know? Moving in with Sam because you already leased the house or give Luke a chance because he’s the father of your son” Derek wrapped an arm around her “There’s nothing more I want than to see you happy, whether is with Sam, Luke, only you and Jules, look, even if you wanna go back to what’s-his-name let’s go live in a farm guy?” She laughed through the tears “I want you to be happy and I’ll be there for you, ok?”
“Ok” She managed to say “Kevin, he was the one that wanted me us to go and live in a farm”
“Alright, well if you wanna go live in a farm I’m sure Julian will love all the free space to run around” They laughed and Derek kissed her forehead, hoping she’d follow his advice and go with whatever made her truly happy.
Penelope was meeting Emily for drinks, she entered the bar to see Emily already sitting there, she greeted her and they started to catch up, it had been a really long time since they last saw each other, once again, life making it complicated to hang out more often.
“So” Emily started “I don’t think I ever actually apologized about that one time” She felt embarrassed reminiscing her behaviour during that New Year’s.
“Come on, Em” Penelope waved her off “It’s ok, you don’t have to say anything”
“No, but I do, I was- we were going through a difficult time, JJ and I were going through the adoption process for Nick and we weren’t getting matched and there were a lot of setbacks, that’s why we didn’t tell any of you at the time but it was difficult for us and of course, JJ was way better than at handling everything and I just let out my frustration that time when it wasn’t my place to say anything, I was an asshole to you” Penelope placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Don’t say that, Emily, we all snap sometimes, I’m sorry you were going through that but now you have Nick and he’s a great kid” Penelope smiled remembering the curly boy.
“I didn’t mean anything that I said, I mean, we did have our doubts but you proved it was possible to do what you did”
“Oh no, I actually think you were right, it’s a bit of a mess right now” Penelope looked away.
“I... Know, and even though the situation is not great right now, I’m sure you’ll get through it” Emily gave her a sympathetic smile and Penelope nodded “I gotta say one more thing though, I’ll never understand why you guys didn’t even try”
The blonde woman just shrugged, at that point neither did she “It’s just, we’ve been friends for half of our lives, it would’ve been, I don’t know, weird? We’ve seen each other at our worse and our best, he’s like always been there” As much as Penelope tried to convince herself it wouldn’t have worked out, she never actually did it.
“Babe, I don’t see how that’s bad” Emily commented taking a sip of her drink, her words echoed in Penelope’s head.
Luke opened the door and Julian immediately launched himself at him.
“Daddy!” He clung onto Luke’s neck while Penelope awkwardly stood there.
“Sorry I couldn’t pick him up tonight” Luke said, looking at Julian instead of her, he was still hurt but really trying to move on this time.
“Don’t worry, it’s ok” Luke expected to see her turn around and go back to her place but she remained there “I found this at my place, it’s your birthday present from last year, you never actually got it so I thought I should bring it” He saw the bag in her hands and it just reminded him of the day he had gotten his heart broken.
“Oh, Penelope, I appreciate it but I’m fine, I don’t need anything”
“Please, I insist” She offered it to him and Julian was fast take it.
“Open it, daddy!” He started to kick his legs so Luke would put him down.
“I’ll open it tomorrow, bud, it’s time for bed now” He could see Julian was not happy about it.
“NO!” Julian dropped to the floor “Open it! Open it!” The terrible twos were not a joke, he started to throw kicks and Luke kneeled to his level.
“Jules, it’s time to go to bed, come on” He grabbed him in his arms.
“Open the pwesent” Luke sighed.
“I’ll make you a deal, we open it and then you go to bed” Julian seemed to calm.
“I’m gonna get going now, good night Jules, have sweet dreams, my love” She took a step to them and leaned to kiss Julian’s head, when she was about to step away she grabbed her sweater.
“Stay!” Penelope softly took his little hand and let herself free from his grasp.
“I can’t, I gotta go, baby” Julian started to cry.
“Maybe you can stay and help us with bedtime” Luke suggested, Penelope silently agreed.
They walked towards Julian’s bedroom and Penelope felt like an outsider, it had been a long time since she had walked inside Luke’s home, once they got there, she helped Julian to put on his PJ’s while Luke watched them and untuck his bed covers.
“Pwesent!” Julian said once he was underneath his blankets, each of his parents sat on either side of the bed next to him.
Luke opened the bag and put out something that look like a binder? Photo album? ‘Luke + Jules + Pen’ was engraved on the cover, when he opened it, he saw it was a scrapbook, it had photos of him and Penelope when they first met back in college, ticket stubs of that time when Penelope was in different plays, from when all of the gang had gone to see the Yankees, Luke’s favorite baseball team, photos of them with their friends and then it was Julian’s first sonogram, photos of Penelope pregnant, photos of their baby shower, their first picture the three of them that Savannah had taken at the hospital, all of it was filled with memories.
Luke closed it abruptly, it was all too much for him “Alright, bud, it’s time for you to sleep, we’re picking up Roxy from the shelter tomorrow, remember?” A sleepy boy nodded and just when Penelope and Luke thought they had won, Julian spoke again.
“Mommy, stay!” Penelope tried her best to smile.
“I have to go to your other home, remember?” Luke noticed how Penelope’s voice faltered and decided to back her up.
“Julian, remember what I told you about your two houses? That only the most special little boys get two, so Mommy needs to go and take care of your other house”
“I want Mommy to stay!” He demanded, starting to cry again.
It took everything in Penelope not to tell him that he wanted to stay as well so she just held him and sang the lullaby Luke used to sing to him when he was a baby, it didn’t take long until he fell asleep, Penelope kissed his forehead and silently left the room with Luke behind her.
Before she could speak Luke beat her to it “Drive safe, I’ll take him to you on Sunday” He said and Penelope could only nod as she walked out of the door an to her car.
She sat there for a few minutes, not realizing tears were rolling down her cheeks, when she calmed down she started to drive home, it took her ten minutes to decide she was not going home, she made an u-turn to go back to Luke’s place.
She knocked, unsure what she was going to say but trusting it would be the right thing.
“Penelope? Did you forget something?” Luke asked, confused as to why she was back.
She walked right past him into his apartment “Remember when I asked you if you had met your person?” She said with tears in her eyes.
“Yes” He breathed out.
“We both said no” Penelope stated “Can you ask me if I’ve met my person, please?” Luke felt some sort of anger form in his chest.
“Why? So you can tell me it’s perfect Sam? I don’t under-”
“Please” She interrupted him “Please ask me”
“Have you met your person?”
“Yeah, I have, for a long time now, but I was an idiot and I didn’t realize it until just recently” She said through her sobs, Luke forgot how to breathe, playing her words over and over again “When I found your present and looked through it I realized it’s you, it has been you all along, Luke, you’re my person”
Luke didn’t waste no time and kissed her, feeling his heart being mend with every second that passed, when they pulled away, he asked “What about Sam?”
“He’s been out of the picture for months” She admitted and Luke resumed their kiss only to pull apart immediately.
“You’re my person, Penelope, always have, always will” He choked out.
“I love you, Luke” She caressed his face in her hands.
Luke closed her eyes, her words giving him a joy he didn’t knew existed “I love you too, Penelope”
“So… Can I stay?” She chuckled through her tears.
“Only if you stay forever” Luke answered and took her in his arms, planning to make up for all the lost time where he wasn’t able to show her how much he loved her.
“Home, let me come home, home is wherever I’m with you”
6. Which scenes did you cut, and which were added in Gentle Rain?  (for @janetm74 )
Okay, I can cheat somewhat with this one as I routinely keep a file for chunks of text I cut out of fics while writing. So I actually have a few of the scenes this question asks about (probably a good thing since my memory is useless).
One thing I must say is that the clincher scene where Virgil collapses in Thunderbird Two in Chapter Twelve didn’t originally happen there. I knew he was going to collapse from about Chapter Two or Three onwards, it was a target scene I was writing towards. However, he was originally supposed to collapse in Two’s hangar and be found later. The problem with that was the condition he developed (which evolved as I wrote) would have killed him if that happened. He needed someone there to save his life (sorry, Gords). So he didn’t make it back to Tracy Island before he found he couldn’t breathe.
As for scenes cut out, there were several, most of which don’t make much sense reading them now and some are just lines, but here are a few.
One of the initial challenges was finding a way to get Em and Scott to actually meet beyond the initial incident. Initially, I had Scott eager to meet her, but realised pretty quickly that the eldest Tracy wasn’t going to be that easy.
Scene: Em’s hospital room shortly when Kayo initially introduces herself.
The woman opened her mouth to answer, but was interrupted by a beep. She sighed. “Yes, I am Kayo. Please excuse me.” And she turned away, holding her wrist up.
There was a flicker of light and a familiar voice spoke. “Kayo, have you found her yet?”
“Scott, have patience.”
“Kayo-“
“You are aware that she can hear everything you are saying?”
Em had to smirk.
“I would be if you had told me.”
“I would have told you if you hadn’t interrupted me before I could say anything. And no I haven’t asked her yet.”
“Kayo-“
“Patience, Scott.” And there was the click of an ended transmission. Kayo turned to face Em again. “My apologies. As you can hear, he is recovering well.”
“Still an argumentative brat apparently.”
“It’s one of his strengths.” She took a step back towards the bed. “He was wondering if you would be willing to meet with him. He wants to thank you for everything you did.”
Em blinked. “What?” She shifted her shoulders. “Um, er, okay.” Oh so confident and professional of you there, Emaline. She kicked herself internally.
But then she realised exactly what she now looked like. She bit her lip.
-o-o-o-
Em initially reacted completely differently to Kip’s sudden presence in the Tracy’s living room.
“What you be doin’ here, honey.”
“It’s Em, as you well know. And I’m here as a guest. What are you doing here?”
“Same.”
And the conversation ended there.
The silence was ominous. The Tracys in the room stared at each other.
Alan arrived on the scene a few moments later having secured Tracy Two. He stared at the tableau. “Okay.” He held up his hands. “I’m just going to back away quietly.”
Penny stepped around Em. “Crispin, dear, have a seat. Emaline, I advise you to do the same.” The aristocrat walked calmly into the sunken lounge and took her own chair. “Alan, do be a dear and find us some tea. I am absolutely parched.”
Alan appeared quite happy to play Parker if it would get him out of the room. Grandma and Kip took a seat together almost directly opposite from where Em came to a halt inside the circle.
Scott made a note to create a space in the lounge for ease of access, for either TB imPatient or Em’s hoverscoot. He himself pulled up beside Em and reached once again for her hand.
She responded and shot him a worried smile, her fingers curling around his.
The motion did not go unnoticed, but frankly Scott didn’t care.
Penelope, of course, was a picture of respectability.
-o-o-o-
At some point Gordon was appreciating his brother, but I’m not sure exactly what scene this was cut from. has some good lines though.
Virgil was the kind of guy you could tell your deepest problems to and he would simply listen, no judgement, no censure. Sure, get him before his coffee and you may leave minus a body part, but the man would sew it back on for you later.
Gordon and Virgil were so different, yet it was what made it work.
Of course, everyone raved about the ‘bond’ Virgil had with his older brother, sure. But Gordon liked to think that he had something with the Tracy bear, too. Something a little different, a little unique. And he knew Virgil trusted him, despite the pranks and the jokes and snide remarks. They were brothers and it went beyond all that.
So when Virgil sat down beside him at the helm looking like death that hadn’t been warmed up...
-o-o-o-
Originally, when Kay left Virgil’s hospital room when she told him she couldn’t handle him giving his life to IR, Virgil lost it and had to be sedated. This proved to be completely ridiculous and OOC and was dumped (I think one of my beta readers nabbed me on that one). The scene I have has been partially rewritten, but the remnants are there.
“What the hell was I supposed to do? If Brains dies, International Rescue dies with him!”
Kayo had tears in her eyes. “And what do you think would happen to International Rescue without you?”
His heart stuttered and it had nothing to do with his injury. He reached out to touch her but she stepped away. That hurt even more. “Kay? Please?”
“No, Virgil, you have to understand this.” A tear rolled down her cheek. “Without you, there is no International Rescue.” She swallowed and another tear drifted across her beautiful skin. He so wanted to touch her. “It shouldn’t be that way. I can’t share you that much. I want to share your life, you...you can’t give it all to iR. Please, Virgil.”
He reached for her again, desperate to touch her. “Kay!” She took another step back. Her head was shaking ‘no’, tears running freely. “Kay, no, don’t, please don’t!”
“It has to change. Things have to change. I can’t...I can’t...” Whatever she was trying to say dissolved into a sob and she turned away. “I can’t.” She ran from the room.
“Kay, no!” The machinery monitoring him screamed as he tried to get out of bed. A mob of nurses came running and he was buried under a sea of medical white.
“Mr Tracy, calm down!”
“Kay!” His face was wet. He struggled against hands. “Kay!”
“Mr Tracy!”
“Kay, please!” But his heart was hammering in his chest and he was gasping for breath. Spots danced in his vision. He couldn’t.
Please, Kay, I’ll do anything...anything...
“Mr Tracy, if you don’t calm down, I will be forced to sedate you.”
He stared at the blonde haired nurse so opposite from his Kay.
He let all his muscles go, falling slack back against the bed. A sound far too much like a whimper passed his lips.
Kay?
God.
Anything for Kay.
-o-o-o-
Words passed over his head, he ignored them, he needed to get to Kay.
But something flooded his system, a calming, sleep inducing cold. It wrapped around his mind and pulled him down. “No! Kay!” His voice was fading. He had to get to Kay. Please, Kay, I’ll do anything...anything...
But the cold seeped into his mind and took it away.
-o-o-o-
The Epilogue was rewritten a couple of times. I had an argument with it. In the process I killed off an entire original character, Frederico. Poor Frederico. I should revive him in another fic.
“Virgil’s a target?” Scott’s whisper was fierce. They were standing outside a meeting with the Colonel Casey, Lauren Davis and a representative of both the Western Australian Police and ASIO.
John bit the inside of his lip. “Kayo tagged Em with one of Virgil’s trackers. The timing was just too perfect, too coincidental. Either the bombers were after Em or Virgil. Probability puts Virgil at the top of the list.”
“How did they get the frequency?”
“Unknown.”
“Re-scramble everything. I want everything changed. Start with the frequencies, but speak to Brains, I want everything upgraded, even the subcutaneous.”
John gave him a single nod. That was going to hurt. “Already in progress.”
“Have you told Kayo?”
“No, but I have no doubt she is fully capable of putting the pieces together.”
Scott nodded, but his expression changed, even more concern deepening his frown. “If they wanted Em or Virgil, why bomb a bridge?” He swallowed. “Why not just kill or capture? And it would have been obvious it was coming from Em not Virgil.”
The knot in John’s gut only twisted tighter, his brother was thinking out loud. “Perhaps they wanted to see how we would react? How important Em is to the organisation?”
There was so much anger in Scott’s stance, John fought the urge to take a step back. “Goddamnit.” He clenched a fist. “I want to know who, how and why. Full resources, John. Get Kayo and Penny on this. I want it fixed and I want them found.”
“FAB.”
-o-o-o-
Virgil found her in her office, hissing at one of their agents. “Frederico, so help me, if you don’t take this seriously, I’ll strip you of your IR credentials and throw you in the Atlantic.”
“Is that a death threat?” Virgil couldn’t help but smile. Frederico never took anything seriously, much less a death threat from his boss. He did, however, do an exemplary job at finding information to not be serious about.
-o-o-o-
But one of the scenes I had to cut quite hard was the scene where Em and Scott woke up in the same bed. Apparently, they were ready to take their relationship much further than I was and I had to draw their amour to an abrupt halt before it got entirely out of hand.
God, she was beautiful. Breaking off, he kissed her jawline, tracing it around to her ear and nibbling on her lobe.
Her fingers teased the hair on the nape of his neck, while her other hand slipped under his jacket, brushing across his shirt, around his ribcage to his back, fingertips digging in at his ministrations.
“Scott Tracy, you know how to drive a girl wild.” Her voice was rough and he took it as permission to continue a trail of kisses down her neck, nuzzling her collarbone.
His reward was a gasp at his touch. His left hand had found the bare skin of her back once more and was denting that softness enough to hold her close. His other hand was at her waist, satin between his fingers.
“You are one gorgeous man.” And her tongue was in his mouth again, urgent against his.
-o-o-o-
Please keep in mind these are all trash can scenes and were cut for good reasons.
I hope they provide a little amusement.
As for what was added to the fic...I write very haphazardly and by the seat of my pants most of the time. The whole fic was added after the first chapter really :D
Thanks for asking and for reading all that :D
About that Carry On Prinxiety AU
For now I laid out a bit of the plot, if you want to share some ideas just hit me up~
This is going to be a LOT to take on my shoulders but I will try and probably fail BUT TRYING IS KEYWORD (i really do believe in myself don't I? Everything under the cut!)
Since they all have their peculiarities, I'm gonna say that yes Virgil might be the Baz and Roman could be the Simon of this story, but I think either would fit for different reasons so they just have the same energy and will keep their own characterization. (If I'm able to not go ooc on this one wish me luck)
If I'm creative enough I'll try making an American school that is located in Florida, so that the characters know nothing much about what's happening in Watford and I can still make references without chronological contradictions.
Thomas could probably be the head mage too. I'm imagining him being very interested in the Normal culture and dressing like a Normal adult instead of the head of a great magical school, his "obsession" (kind of like Arthur Weasley's, if you will) is not really well-liked by most of the mages (especially the Old Fams), some believe that the students should have a better example instead of a man that always seems on the verge of leaving the magic world behind. The students, on the other hand, love him very much thank you. (yes even the ones whose parents insult him)
Oh my god I just had an epiphany: imagine Thomas obviously being in love with Disney and maybe Roman is very close to him so like he's talking about Virgil and Thomas just STRAIGHT UP STARTS SINGING SMTH LIKE THE MUSES' PARTS IN WON'T SAY IM IN LOVE OR LIKE THAT LION KING ONE AAAAAAAA and Roman is like ssss t o p but in the end joins in because he's w e a k (same)
Anyway for the main bois what I was thinking was that, with the prophecies about the Chosen One being there for a long time and them not knowing about Simon or anything, (this is becoming like Skam, there are many Snowbaz in the world) they just so happen to find in Roman an extraordinary amount of magic
Everybody is convinced Roman might be the Greatest Mage, the info flies out into the magical world of America but they decide to not share the info with other states. Roman gets very excited about this and works hard and trains himself in preparation for the big moment where he was going to have his big fight.
Virgil is his roommate (oh my god they were roommates), and of course, they can't stand each other at all. Virgil is definitely fed up with this story about the Chosen One, which Roman brings out in any possible conversation, so he uses it against him to tease him. Just imagine Roman bragging about something and Virgil being like "yeah but for a Greatest Mage you still haven't done anything so Great", or like Roman is having trouble with a spell or a subject? "Aren't you the chosen one?", Virgil only brings it up to make him mad and loves his flustered face. (keyword "loves" *wink*)
As much as I'm hopelessly in love with the idea of Vamp!Virgil (which would fit if he had Baz's role), I just had an angsty idea so I'm saving it for later c:
Hey how about a half-elf Virgil??? Anyone? Sorry I love elves
As for the time they spend together, they do the same thing as Simon and Baz, they avoid each other, spend time out of their room if the other's in there, make up different routines so they don't have to share anything and only really stay in the same room if they have to sleep. (idk why i said "if" like they don't need sleep)
Let me remind you that the beds are very close.
One time Roman woke up in the middle of the night and screamed in fear upon seeing a figure on the window.
It was just Virgil and he almost fell out, he would have probably smacked his head if it wasn't for the roommates' anathema or whatever it is called in english.
Virgil said he just couldn't sleep but he will never admit it was because of a pretty violent nightmare.
Roman does really think that he doesn't sleep at all and just uses his magic to stay awake judging by the dark circles under his eyes.
idk about you but I like the idea of Logan being something similar to Penelope, so Logan is Roman's best friend, they had met in the first year and Logan seemed one of the only ones who didn't approach Roman only because of his fame about being the Chosen One. Logan is simply amazing and brilliant at all subjects and surprises everyone since he's said to come from a family with weak powers.
Roman finds in him a very valid studying companion and he has to admit a lot of his best spells come from practicing/learning them from Logan. Also Logan loves explaining the stuff he's learnt, while Roman has this insatiable will to know everything to be able to defeat whatever bad guy will present in front of him. They basically become inseparable, despite having some friendly fights that are always solved with a snack break.
They !! deeply !! care !! for !! each other !!
Out of the other characters idk if Patton would fit anybody entirely, but I'm going to keep the 3v3 groups, so Pat will most likely be hanging out with Roman and Logan, he's actually very good friends with Virgil (none can escape Patton's friendliness) and tries to reason with Roman when he's mad about something Virge might have said. He's probably the reason why he hasn't killed Virgil yet. Patton doesn't come from a big family and lives with his grandmother when he's out of school. (I still have to develop this)
Forget about Dev and Niall and get ready for Deceit and Remus. I don't wanna give a headcanon name to Deceit bc I don't have one so he's gonna be a mysterious boy and everyone will call him Dee since it's the nickname I use for him. Both of them are two chaotic messes in their own ways. Dee, despite still being composed most of the times, is VERY fixated on his society discourses and arguments, he could come up to you one day out of the blue being like "so about the plan to overthrow the government" and you probably never even heard of it in the first place
JUST GIVE ME PASSIONATE DECEIT
Remus, on the other hand, messes a LOT with spells and you can see him traveling to the weirdest places. One day he was found trying to make the water creatures do a circus bit for him. People don't know how he's able to make his way through tests, but it's actually because he loves bugging Dee since he doesn't give the slightest shit about the weird things he suggests and they often end up studying together.
(I had the wildest thought thinking about Remus as Trixie)
Virgil, Deceit and Remus are what people call the "Untouchable trio", only because they come from the highest and oldest of the Old Families. They had been friends ever since kids since their Families met quite often, they never really fell apart despite being very different from one another. They're actually pretty chill people, it is only their surnames that make some people wary of them. They're not generally approached by anyone.
Idk if I wanna bring Emile and Remy in this, but I am tempted™, I'll think about it
So, Roman, am I right? Forgot to say he comes from a pretty big fam of hunters, they're the types of people that are lovable but won't hesitate to kill a bitch if needed.
But Purp, where's our creativitwins content? Thing is, yes they're actually brothers, but they were separated ever since kids for reasons none really knows? They never talk about it, even if asked to. They were given to two different families. They're aware of each other, but none has ever seen them interact. (I might find some angsty backstory on this just you wait)
Up until here Roman has always believed himself to be destined to the greater good, he's the chosen one, his destiny is the one to be the protagonist of the magic world and its hero.
At least that's what he thought until the fifth year.
One day during the fifth year, Virgil was doing homework on his room's table when Roman bursts in, louder than usual, and throws himself face-first on the bed, uncaring about ruining his hair or his clothes. That was an unusual sight since he never came into the room before evening or even before dinner. Virgil immediately knew something was wrong, but he didn't realize how serious the thing was.
So of course, he teases him a bit trying to get some info from him but only makes the situation worse. When Virgil calls him Greatest Mage as a joke, that's when Roman finally snaps at him in a way that Virge would have never expected. Roman really is enraged, yells at him and throws his pillow across the room since he can't hit him. He storms out of the room when he feels tears forming in his eyes, but can't really hide his sobbing as he goes away.
Virgil is just standing there, aware that he had just made Roman cry for the first time in his life and hated the sight with his whole being.
Roman had just learnt that he wasn't, in fact, the Chosen One, nor the Greatest Mage. Just an ordinary mage, like anybody else, who, in his opinion, had no other destiny than to finish school, find a job and just ... live?
So he's destroyed, all those dreams revealed themselves to be castles built in the air.
School is ending and Roman is just a bit numb, he's not really failing his classes but he's not as bright as ever. He barely leaves his room and doesn't talk to his friends as often, who are very concerned. Even Virgil tries to talk to him at some point. Thomas visits him when he has time and tries to work through the issue with him, but for the rest of the fifth year, there's nothing much to do to cheer him up.
Things seem to go back to normal as years pass and he's not in the spotlight anymore, none really talks about the Greatest Mage anymore and mages just carry on with their studies as they've always done. Everything's fine and normal.
And Roman hates it. But he's working in the shadow, so none notices his discomfort.
It only happens when he reaches the eighth year. It's impossible for Virgil to not recognize that Roman is slipping away at night and only comes back after some hours, either with dirty clothes or things tangled in his hair, he always came back different from when he left, meaning he definitely was wandering off outside.
One night he really can't stop thinking about how worried he is that Roman might get in trouble by himself, while he could probably prevent that, so he decides to follow him. Apparently, Roman is trying to find some kind of important and scary adventure to prove to himself that he's not as useless as he thinks himself to be, but Virgil still doesn't know this.
Virgil doesn't know what to do about the situation and decides to talk to Patton about it, in the end, the two of them decide to make a plan to talk to Roman with Logan, too.
On the other hand, Roman had been seen hanging out with Deceit or Remus, or both at the same time, trying to pry out information from them about how to get to certain forbidden spots of the school if he ever needed to. Surprisingly they don't ask many questions.
Chaos ensues when one night everything goes horribly wrong.
SO YEAH these are a bunch of things that I got right off the bat, I still have to think about the entire plot but don't want to spoil anything, basically the story would begin on the eighth year, just like Carry On, when Roman starts sneaking out. There might be things I need to fix but still I repeat that this is just a draft or a bunch of ideas that I got together somehow.
[ based on this post ]: the truman high school reunion took place at a decent hotel, organized by a group of former students who used to be one of the popular kids back in the day.  they waited for 20 years to track down and find as many of the classmates from truman high as they could and send out invitations to their reunion party.  a fair amount of those responded and attended the reunion, and many had a relatively good time sharing their stories.  it was a night they would keep forever in their memory, but their high school experience wasn’t over just yet.  the next day, when all these former students woke up  ( some by the sound of their alarm, others by the shouting of their parents  )  they realized they were younger, that they were teenagers who had to get ready and go to school.  however, their memories, are still those of their late thirty-year-old selves.
ESTEEMED GUESTS, YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE MADDOX’S ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S EVE MASQUERADE BALL AT THE NEW YORK ROMANO HOTEL.
Ringing in the New Year for the residents of the Upper East Side always meant one thing: the Maddox’s incredibly luxurious, over-paid, private masquerade ball held in the rooftop lounge of The New York Romano Hotel. Endless champagne flutes, snacks flown in from every corner of the earth, and some of the finest jazz musicians in the city were only a few of the spectacles of the evening. Not only did the Maddox’s boast a plethora of wealth and luxuries at this party, but guests were ensured to be entertained by the most heart-stopping of surprises: and not just the good kind.
One year, it was the revelation of the adultery of Penelope Lauder, the next the storming out of Oscar Macy after realizing his partner wasn’t who he thought he was. When the alcohol flows and the air is tense and full of people wanting to turn over new leaves, there is bound to be some sort of secret revealed, especially for the lives of the oh-so-prim-and-proper Upper East Siders. Find a date, an outfit, and most importantly, a mask, and get ready to take on the night–it’s bount to be eventful.
OOC DETAILS
WHEN: OOC: January 2, 3PM EST – January 6, MIDNIGHT              IC: December 31st, 10 PM - January 1, 2 AM WHERE: The New York Romano of ROMANO WORLDWIDE, Rooftop Lounge
INVITATIONS: Invitations are sent to most of the families residing in the Upper East Side and other acquaintances of the Maddox Family. Characters who are not directly in this group of people could either have also be sent a personal invitation (due to their relationship with Stella), or through a catering, art, or music service. Alternatively, you could have your muse choose to sneak into the party (no one would notice, as everyone is wearing masks anyway!), or come as the date of one of those invited.
INTERACTIONS: All interactions will be held on the dashboard, as we do not want to complicate the state of roleplay so early by using third-party sites or different outlets just yet. Please pause all current threads so that we can focus on the event threads.
GOSSIP GIRL / STELLA: Gossip Girl and Stella will have their eyes on you at all times, and may post updates about you or ask something of you during the event. Please message the main if you are uncomfortable with such tasks, and we will accommodate accordingly!
REMEMBER: to have fun and to keep our roleplaying environment as safe as possible! Of course, we’d love all the IC drama we can get, but please help us all out by communicating with your fellow members to make sure everyone is comfortable with the plotlines progressing during the event (arguments, revelations, etc.). If you have any concerns at all throughout the course of the event, please message the main and we will do our best to help resolve the situation.
TAG: Please tag anything related to the event (starters, outfits, self-paras, social media graphics, etc.) as reputable:event1.
Love Bleeds Red
Pairing: Lin-Manuel Miranda x Fem!Reader
Crossover: Criminal Minds
AN: Part 1 of my new series! And just a random title ig it kinda fits and I’m sorry if any characters sound ooc. Plus this will mostly be based on memory with what they would say in the show.
Summary: Reader is part of the BAU and comes to NYC for a case where her boyfriend Lin lives. The more the reader learns about this case the more she fears for Lin’s life as the unsubs victims matches Lin’s description.
Words: 1768
Warnings: crime scenes and everything in between with that; mentions of murder; angst
Reader’s POV
“Yeah, I miss you too.” I smiled like an idiot.
“Princess, we’re about to go over the debriefing for the new case.” Morgan leaned against the small wall separating my desk space from the others. I placed my hand over my phone pulling it away from my ear.
“Okay give me a sec.” I told him before putting the phone to my ear as Lin began talking. “No Lin, it was just Morgan relax. I have to go.
“Stay safe please.” He begged me. I smiled softly. “I love you Y/N.”
“I love you too and I’ll be fine. Okay? Yeah. Bye.” Ending the call I put my cell in the front pocket of my blazer. Pushing myself out of my chair I made my way to the debriefing room where my team was.
I made my way into the room and found a seat besides Spencer. On the screen showed shots from the crime scene.
“Last night a body was found in a dumpster in an abandoned alleyway. The victim was identified as Anthony Gonzalez.” JJ pressed a button showing the next photo a family picture of Anthony and his family.
“Cause of death?” Morgan asks, leaning back in his chair.
“He was stabbed to death, over 20 times, but the victim showed signs of strangulation as well.
"Wouldn’t that make the killing personal to the unsub?” I asked as I analyzed the photos of the crime scene.
“It’s not definite if it was personal to the unsub but to the person the message was aimed at.” She stated.
“There’s a message?” JJ nodded before clicking to the next slide.
“The stabbing and the strangulation, its most probable to say that the unsub did it out of anger. You see with how tight the neck was squeezed it seems to be close to the point of fracture, the unsub wanted to be up close and personal, wanting to feel the victim struggling wanting to be in control to showing dominance and the stabbing to the chest, very close to the heart it leaves us to believe for him it’s a sign to his own broken heart because look at the message.” Reed rambled on pointing the the next picture with words painted in blood on the brick wall.
'You broke my heart so I'll break yours.'" Emily read aloud.
"So that leaves us that the unsub is a male in his mid 20's to early, to late 30's." JJ concluded.
"Everyone get what you need and meet at the jet in 30." Hotchner dismissed us. I stood up from my seat and walked out with the team. I pulled out my phone sending a quick text to Lin.
"So how are you and Lin?" Derek casually asks as he leans against your chair as you get what you need.
"Everything is great." You smiled towards him. "And I feel kind of jittery right now." I told him truthfully as I slung my bag over my shoulder. He looked at me confused before arching his left brow.
"Why?" I smiled slightly.
"Because this case is in NYC where Lin lives and I haven't seen him in a few months....I miss him and when we're there if we even have the time during or after the case I want to go see him." I explained to him. He nodded in understanding.
"Yeah I get that." I raised and eyebrow at him, looking at him in disbelief.
"You sure about that Mr. Playboy?" I said teasingly, walking past Derek as he mockingly laughed. I grinned, walking up the few stairs, through the glass doors and to the elevator.
-
“There’s been another murder.” JJ told the team, she made her way down into a seat besides me.
“Was there another message?” I asked as she opened her laptop.
“Yes, the NYPD sent me these.” She showed the team the pictures. “Luis Montoya.” A picture showed the body.
“Same memo, strangulation and what? 20 stab wounds?” JJ nodded. Looking at the man I felt a queasy. It’s not because of the body, I’ve seen plenty of crime scenes and photos but it looks like there’s a type the unsub goes for. Black hair, brown eyes, goatee, latino.
“It seems to be this guy is going after Mexicans, that’s the only connection I see.” Derek commented.
“No, it’s more than that, I’ll call Garcia and ask her if the two victims has any connections other then their ethnicity.” Reed stated, pulling out his phone.
“This is the ever so wonderful Penelope Garcia how can I be of assistance?” I cracked a smile.
“Hey baby girl we need you to work your magic and find a connection between the two victims.”
“Wait two? I thought there was only one victim.” I could hear her tapping away at her computer, probably looking up the recent murder. “Luis Montoya.” She then said. “Age 35, about 5′9, no children and no family.” She stated.
“Yeah, that’s the one.”
“I will see what I can find.”
“Thanks Garcia.” Hotch says before Reed hangs up the phone.
“What was the message?” I asked. JJ clicked something and another image came up.
‘Why him?’ It read in the victim’s blood.
“He’s definitely doing this out of rage and heartbreak, hell even jealousy from the looks of it.” I say, leaning back in my seat.
“When we land, Reed, JJ you’ll be coming with me to the NYPD. Morgan I want you and Prentiss at the first crime scene. And Rossi you take Y/N to the more recent one see what else you can find.”
-
“You’re awfully quiet.” Rossi commented as we rode in the black SUV on our way to the most recent crime scene. I brushed a strand hair out of my face.
“This case worries me.” He glanced at me before looking back at the busy streets of New York.
“Why? We’ve dealt with worse unsubs then this.”
“I know that!” I growled in frustration. Lifting my hands I raked them through my hair. “It’s just the unsub’s victim type...he’s going after men with some sort of latino, Latin American descent, and what if Lin becomes the next victim? He fits the bill so far. And it can’t be a coincidence-” I was cut off when I heard Lin’s all too familiar voice rapping. “There’s a reason why I keep my phone on vibrate.” I mumbled to myself as Rossi chuckled.
“Lin hey is everything all right?” I could hear Chris talking in the background.
“Are you here in New York?” Was what he asked me. I could hear the excitement in his voice. He was such a dork but he’s my dork.
“Yes I am, for work. I’m heading to one of the crime scene’s now.”
“Well I was wondering whenever you’re not super busy being a sexy badass that we can see each other? I don’t care where or when I just have to see you.” Looking out the window, my eyes narrowed at the light in my eyes.
“Yeah, I know. I’ll see what I can do but I promise you that I’ll see you before I leave. Okay?” I asked. Lin sighed on the other line but it wasn’t an irritated one it was a sigh in content kind of way.
“Okay. Stay safe.” I smiled.
“Always am. I love you.”
“I love you too princessa.” A blush crept up my face.
“Bye.”
“Bye.” He said in his adorable dorky way before hanging up.
“I’m sure Lin will be fine. There’s thousand’s of people in the city, the chance of him being the unsub’s next victim is very slim.” Rossi told me as he parked by the scene where the second murder took place.”
“Thank you Rossi.” I told him gratefully. He smiled as we got out of the car.
-
It’s been a long day. From what we learned today the connection made between the victims were their looks, their ethnicity being Puerto Rican, age and height and that they’re both single but the funny think is they both had a connection to some kind of art.
I opened the door to my hotel, ready the crash at any second. Dropping my bag at the foot of the bed I kicked my shoes off, shrugging my blazer off I through it on the table nearby and crawled on top of the bed. My eyes closed, I felt myself being lulled into a deep sleep.
“What the heck I gotta doooo for you to answer meee.” Lin’s voice attempt to sing his song ‘What the heck I gotta do’ with his own twist, blared from across the room on the table. I groan into my pillow making no move to move from my spot. It was so comfortable. The singing stopped before it started back up again. Cursing under my breath I trudged my way out of the comfort of the hotel bed and dug my phone out of my blazer pocket sliding the green button on the screen to the side.
“What is it Lin?” My voice sounded groggy as if I was asleep, I wish.
“Y/N.” I perked up when I noticed how nervous his voice sounded.
“Lin what’s wrong?” I ask him.
“I got back from walking Tobillo and I found a package in front of my door and when I opened it...” He trailed off.
“Lin what was in it?”
“It was pictures of me. And not the pictures you would have someone take of you like this guys whoever he was, was like stalking me and he left a note.” His voice was higher.
“What did it say?” I asked.
“You took her away.” I heard him gag. “He also left a photo of someone’s body.” His voice sounded strained. “Oh god how can anyone do this to someone.” My eyes widened in horror. Ripping my phone away from my ear I sent two photos of the victims of when they were alive to Lin before pressing the phone to my ear again.
“Lin listen to me carefully I sent you two pictures can you tell me if it was either of those men?”
“It was the second one.” He told me.
“Oh my god.” I felt my stomach drop. “Lin get inside lock all the doors and windows.” I told him as I ran out of my room and to Hotch’s.
I banged my fist against the door until he answered it.
“What is it?” At this time the rest of the team were out of their rooms lookin gat us.
“We have a problem.”
