Shout out to all my fellow gardeners who have a sloped yard, no heavy machinery, a limited budget, a job that takes up all your time, pets that can’t be trusted, children too curious for their own good, health issues that prevent you from getting out as much as you’d like, soil that seems to have been hit by a nuclear bomb, or any other common gardening problem. Remember, it’s the job of influencers to be constantly creating new garden projects, don’t let it make you feel insecure. If you grow one plant—or if you even try to grow one plant and fail—you’re still gardening. 🌸🌹🌺🌷🌻🌼

Honeysuckle - Would this yandere prefer to “tie-down” their darling through marriage or having/adopting kids? 

Phainon already has name ideas for your grandkids, he's thought that far ahead. His baby fever is without cure. Still, he has his reservations about actually getting married and having kids. The apocalyptic events burdening Amphoreus weigh heavy on his mind. He'd rather wed you and settle down in a safe world, free of the black tide. He wouldn't think of it as tying you down, he believes it's the ultimate expression of love. Another factor behind his hesitation is how heartbroken he'd feel should you deny his proposal. Phainon can explain away most of your antagonistic behavior, yet a flat rejection of that magnitude would undermine everything. He's confident that there'll be a day where you joyfully say yes.

Lime blossom - Does the yandere’s feelings for their darling fall more under “love” or lust? 

He views it as pure love. Sure, there's an element of physical attraction, but he'd never categorize his feelings as lust. Phainon holds you in these grand, abstract terms that he struggles to convey. If he had to describe what you are to him, he'd settle on "his guiding light." You provide him with warmth, motivation, and guidance. He looks to you when the universe's indifference grows suffocating. He believes it's his obligation to protect you, from threats both real and imagined. You might not call his undying devotion love, but he frequently professes that it is.

Pansy - What was it that ultimately sparked their obsession? 

Your smile. He actually gets a bit sheepish admitting this, because even he knows it's cheesy (and that's saying something), but your smile altered his brain chemistry. He legitimately did a double-take. He felt his heart ache in his chest and his knees went weak. For him, it was fate; for you, a curse. Nonetheless, from that point onward, he always sought ways to make your paths intertwine. He became addicted to the kindness you showed others. It reminded him that there is goodness in this world, waiting to be discovered. Phainon forms all the fanciful thoughts on you before you know who he is.

Growing Tip: Marmande Tomatoes

After sucessfully growing Cherry Tomatoes this past couple of years, I've become more ambitious this year and decided to grow bigger tomatoes! Not any bigger tomatoes either, but Marmande Tomatoes, these big, tasty, juicy Beefsteak heritage tomatoes, proudly displayed on many a Provençal market stall!

I sowed my Marmande tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) seedlings, a generous sprinkle over a mixture of good potting soil and a handful of compost in a flat-ish but wide enough pot on the 18th April. I covered the seeds with a light sprinkle of the same mixture, watered, dusted with grated coal to prevent damping off and took the pot upstairs, to the Nursery, just under the window with plenty of light, warmth and regular waterings.

A few days later, they were already sprouting. Quickly, the seedlings started growing proper leaves after their dicot cotyledon. As they grew, I thinned them, pinching off the weaker seedlings so the others had more room to expand.

On the 7th May, I potted two or three seedlings in small pots, filled with garden soil, potting soil and a handful of compost. Watered well and took them back up to the Nursery.

I continued tending to them, much like I did the Garden Cherry Tomatoes, until they started growing proper leaves, and sturdier stalks and reached about 12 centimetres/4.75 inches. I potted these in large pots in the garden filled with a mixture of garden soil, potting soil and a handful of compost a month later.

In late July, the seedlings had grown nicely and started blooming. I used sturdy branches I had cut from the apple and pear trees in the Wintrer to stake them, as they would be heftier once the tomatoes started growing.

And once the flowers were pollinated, it did not take long before tiny tomatoes indeed started growing!

And then, they just kept growing!

And began ripening!

Until I harvested my first Marmande Tomato on! And it was as fragrant and juicy and tasty as a gardener humbly wishes! Simply delicious.

I harvested three more today, and a couple are still ripening on the vine. They might have gotten a bit bigger, but there was plenty of rain by the end of the Summer! And now I know I shall sow them a little earlier next year.

For now, I am thoroughly enjoying these beautiful heritage gems!

✦ GROW A GARDEN

“This is so stupid," Kaiser yawns, looking at his empty garden. “Is this really what's been hogging you from me? Gardening is so boring. It's like watching paint dry.”

“Hush, Micha,” you scold, followed by a quiet: “aw, there's nothing good,” at being disappointed at yet another seed restock. Kaiser frowns at his phone, trying to understand the game mechanics. He was here solely because of the fact he wanted to see the idiotic Roblox game that stole your attention from him.

He was determined to prove that it was nothing that could be better than him. Made an account and all. You think the way he named it "aufdieknielossers" was hilarious. Especially because he made a typo too. He didn't even bother changing his avatar, just friending your account, per your instructions, and joining you in Grow a Garden.

It took about five minutes of you explaining what things do. From the joystick to the experience mechanics. He still thinks this is a game for little kids, with the colorful map and lego-esque graphics. “Is rip underscore luffy 666 seriously begging for a... a candy blossom?” he scoffs, like that probably-eight-year-old was a peasant beneath him.

You laugh at him, staying near his garden while he plants strawberries. “Yeah. People do that sometimes," you explain. Suddenly, a weather event starts, and Kaiser side eyes you as you exclaim in glee. “Fuck yes! I've been waiting for a lightning event since forever!”

He rolls his eyes, grumbling under his breath. “This game isn't even worth shit,” Kaiser gets bored of his empty garden and walks to yours, slightly stunned at the amount of giant, glowing, color-changing plants. “What the fuck?" it was clear that you were very much a try-hard. “... so this is where my money goes?”

Yes. Yes it was. You let out an awkward chuckle. You can't exactly deny that you did use his card— he let’s you to, anyway!— because he could just pull up his bank account records and find logs of money being spent on robux, of all things. Not even expensive meals or new clothes— but on a game currency. The things he tolerates for you...

Before you could reply, a text on the top of your screen leaves you bewildered. “... Did you just steal my rainbow, celestial, shocked, chilled, windstruck, honeyglazed, disco moon melon?” you didn't know how he even found out that you could steal from people, or when he linked up his bank to his Roblox account to buy robux to steal it.

“... No,” a small smirk makes its way to Kaiser’s face at stealing something that looked valuable-enough from your garden. Okay, maybe he can grow to like this game.
