Gonzalo, Lear, and Corrupt Ollie only have about half the apple power that everyone in tier 4 and up has, but Gonzalo has eldritch bullshit on his side that enhances his strength slightly.

Neither Ro nor Melanite are used to fighting, and Ro avoids it at all costs.

Basalt is unpredictable and doesn't fuck around trying to show off or scare his opponents like some of the others (LEAR. GONZALO. Also Obsidian and Biotite but Lear and Gonzalo especially)

Shrike, Manganese, Gonzalo, and Lear will let the others beat the shit out of each other, and intentionally cause them to hit someone else, to save their own energy. Basalt does too, but not to the same extent.

The previous point is why uncorrupted Ollie and Manganese are tied.

Cherry doesn't want to fight. Neither does Melanite, though Melanite can't really fight at all

Shrike relies more on speed and dexterity than most of his alternates do.

Gonzalo's more likely to win if Petruccio is missing or has been injured by one of the others.

Of course, if the ones lower down on the list gang up on some of the ones higher up, that may change. But that's why it's 'most likely' and not an absolute.

Despite his avoidance, Ro's acid is quite potent, and it gets a little boost from surrounding negativity. He could very easily incapacitate or kill the others if they provoke or scare him enough.

For all the corrupts and radiants, their magic gives them a strength boost. Oleander without his corrupt magic is just normal Oleander. Same with Ro

Shrike is faster and trickier, but Obsidian also is still strong enough to bash your skull open given a solid surface to slam your head into. Who wins between the two entirely depends on the setting.

Cherry and Ollie don't particularly want to fight, but Ollie's more practiced so he wins over Cherry

Gonzalo and Lear have knives, and Gonzalo's just as unpredictable as Basalt; especially as he gets more worked up.

ro baby i love you but you can't fight for shit

In both cases, Gonzalo and Lear's chances of winning go up exponentially if Petruccio and Puck are there backing them up. Similarly, Gonzalo and Petruccio are even more likely to win over Lear and Puck than Gonzalo if it's just Gonzalo and Lear. The DU boys pretty much always know exactly what the other's going to do.

note: the jet alts in both theater kid AUs technically aren't their own unique alts. they were just thrown into a different version of JMV. For that reason, I won't differentiate between Jet and Nyx, or Astra and Deimos.

Astra's trickiness and Rayonnant's strong preference for brute force make it hard to tell who'd come out on top. Depends on the setting.

Gecko may know how to fight, but I don't think he'll do great against the four bastards. Fortunately the rest (save alkaline, if they don't already know each other) are probably happy to team up with him and keep him from getting killed.

Sable and Alkaline aren't strangers to fighting, but like with Manganese, Alkaline is a little more used to getting into fights.

Alkaline fights just as dirty as Rayonnant, but he's not quite as strong. Jet could probably take him out if he's careful, but it'd be pretty close.

H!JMV/H!DINTIS plot dump

Curium is 50% of the problem in the manor and is the reason for most of the other’s unusual abilities. At least, ‘unusual’ in the sense of ‘that wasn’t in canon jmv’. 

And when I say ‘Curium is part of the problem’ I mean Basalt literally has to tell newcomers not to go into Curium’s office alone. No one except Basalt is allowed to go in there alone for their own safety. He wouldn’t really care, but he knows Curium isn’t doing this to help him. It’s only a matter of time before it goes badly for Basalt.

Unfortunately, Basalt does allow an exception to this rule. That being, he will make you go in alone if you’re in big trouble. This (as I mentioned in his post) is the reason why Zeolite needed a new eye in the first place, as well as why everyone has so many more scars than normal.

Basalt doesn’t really want to take over the multiverse. He just has plans of omnicide. As in, killing everyone. His ultimate plan is to be the only person alive in the entire multiverse, no matter how long it takes. He’s been quite patient about it so far, but then, it’s only been a hundred years, and he only just got a team together. 

Also, the manor isn’t just alive, but has a it’s own personality. It’s been very lonely for a long time, and it’s so happy to have people living in it again! It’s actually very friendly, and it likes to help out, but it doesn’t really understand what it’s residents want. Sometimes it locks them in rooms for a few hours and doesn’t let them go, thinking this is Helpful. Or it creates new hallways and rooms for some of them to find the others easier. 

Its favorite two people are Pyrope, who takes such good care of it and the other residents, and Basalt, who found it and has filled it with life once again. It’s not too happy with how he treats the others, but he’s very important to it. 

It would tear itself apart to help it’s residents be happy. Hopefully though it doesn’t come to that, because then they’d be homeless and that’d suck.

Because Basalt is its #1 favorite, it’s given him a special gift. 

He knows everything that goes on inside the manor. You can’t hide anything from him if it happened under its roof. He makes great use of this. Fortunately, this ability is cut off when he leaves. The manor can try to fill him in, but it doesn’t always, if it thinks nothing important happened.

Curium figured out the manor was alive from Pyrope, who’s the manor’s second favorite, and through a bit of fucking around he realized why Basalt is omnipotent. He then decided to see if he could force it to give someone that ability and, failing that, if he could do it himself. Lari, somewhat recently arrived and often unsupervised, was his test subject.

Lari sees everything that the manor shows Basalt, but he can also understand it. He can talk to it, but it doesn’t communicate at all the way humans and monsters do. It scared Lari. Before it fully drove him nuts, he was convinced they were living in an evil demon house that was going to consume them. It is currently unknown whether or not he still thinks the manor is evil.

Pyrope was pissed when he found out, but there was nothing he could do about it, even if he hadn’t been too late. All he can do now is try and make sure Lari stays safe and eats.

The manor is delighted to be able to talk to Lari, but it’s not so thrilled about how this has affected him. It leaves him alone for the most part, but he can still hear it. And it can understand him. 

When Basalt tried to get Curium to see if Ido could be corrupted, Curium decided to fuck with them both. Basalt’s been trying to keep Curium from experimenting on anyone, so he’s gonna make sure Ido can’t be fully corrupted. And while he’s at it, he’d love to experiment on a spirit…

Ido’s soul is now partially separated from his body. As such, he doesn’t have great motor control anymore, and he sometimes goes ghost without realizing it. His body just suddenly collapses to the ground. He’s having lots of fun in ghost form, though!

Unfortunately, his sense of time in ghost form is extremely fucked up. He’ll be running around for hours and hours and think it’s only been like five minutes. So…he’s not taking care of himself hardly at all. He’s having too much fun.

Basalt’s rather invested in Ido being alive, so he tries to get Curium to make Ido eat and stuff. Curium does try, but unfortunately after what Curium did, Ido doesn’t trust him at all. Clearly this doctor doesn’t have his best interests at heart.

He’s at the point where the others sometimes just have to force-feed his unconscious body because they don’t want Basalt to find him dead and go nuclear on all of them. They don’t know what Basalt wants with Ido, but. Yeah, no thanks

Also, regarding Umbra, Ido just…followed him around in ghost form for a while, before he got his physical body and went to say hi. He does admit this, but Umbra doesn't really believe him. He kinda realizes it’s a little stalker-ish, but he told Umbra he does it and Umbra didn’t tell him to stop, so he thinks it’s fine.

Astra, meanwhile, is here to fuck around with Basalt. Which means both "screw with him and piss him off because it's funny" and "we're gonna go commit murders together and it's gonna be so fun." For better or worse, Basalt's decided that he does like him a little. So, occasionally, Astra will see him emote. Just a tiny sadistic smirk, or a mildly irritated look.

Pyrope glanced away. “I-it really isn’t that bad,” he mumbled.

Hacker put his free hand on his hip. “You need to sleep in a bed, Pyrope. Preferably one with back support. And before you say anything about it being too bright, we can make it dark enough to be comfortable. I’ll board up the windows if I have to. I bet Zeolite would help if I asked, too.”

Pyrope’s eyes widened. He stammered something about not wanting to bother Zeolite, and being afraid of Basalt getting mad.

“What’s Basalt gonna do, kill me?” Hacker scoffed. “He’s certainly not going to kill *you* for it; you do too much around the manor. And it likes you. It would probably be pissed if he hurt you.”

Pyrope’s eyes widened.

“H-Hacker, don’t just- don’t say things like that! He’s going to take that as a *challenge!*”

Hacker raised an eyebrow. “I’ll have you know—*both of you*-“ he raised his voice slightly, glancing at the ceiling, “-that I’ve been shot, crushed, eviscerated, and beheaded. And I’m still kicking. Metaphorically, anyway.”

Hacker was a bad liar to everyone who knew him, but he was confident no one in the manor knew him well enough to be able to see through him. And some of that *was* true! He was damn near indestructible!

“That doesn’t-” Pyrope paused, and furrowed his brow. “Wait, would the *house* be mad if you…? Even if it can’t seriously hurt you, it might be able to get the boards off.”

Hacker blinked.

“...Oh. Okay, yeah, that… That might be a problem.”

Pyrope snorted and started laughing.

Basalt

Your local (half-orc) necromancer. He live on the outskirts of a small town, so people don’t bother him too much, but there's a few people from town that he tolerates. He's also housemates with Ido, Curium, and a fuck-ton of ghosts

He’s not much more expensive than his original iteration, but he does care about the others. Lots.

Idocrase

Ido here is half water elemental. He ended up with frog feet. He can theoretically breathe underwater and in air, but he sometimes has problems with both so he got runes tattooed on him so that doesn't kill him.

he's a water wizard and he has an 'evil' duck familiar and keeps befriending frogs even when they're nowhere near a place that's a suitable frog habitat.

the duck is only 'evil' because it it wants to wear a hat and be called evil. it doesn't do much else. it's more a pet than anything. its name is undecided.

Curium

Curium is a 3’ tall goblin scientist. He’s still kind of a mad scientist, but since this is a Nice AU he’s genuinely trying to help. He still does experiments, but he actually asks for volunteers and is completely up front with what he’s trying to do. While there's a 'proper' doctor in town, a lot of people come to Curium because his rates are lower. even if he does commit a wee bit of medical malpractice (helping with problems that the patient did not know about while they’re under anesthesia. Which is. Uh. Not great. Like yes very nice of him but bro you gotta talk to them first).

Everything in his office is human height, so he has an enchanted step stool that follows him around so he can reach all the shit on the tables with no problem. Sometimes he hops off of it in a huff when he’s bickering with Basalt

He's still the reason Ido is half-dead, but in this case it's because he kept Ido from dying.

The House

The house is alive, and also haunted as fuck. They're all pretty sure those two things aren't related. "all" includes the ghosts btw

The house also can talk, but at a frequency that only ghosts (including Ido) can hear. No one understands it for a while, until Idocrase learns some eldritch languages. and it's very excited to talk to him!! The other ghosts learn too, and they and Ido translate for their living housemates. Usually the house just says ‘hello’ and ‘I love you’. Sometimes it freaks about people leaving. Yes, their house has severe separation anxiety. No, they haven’t found a therapist for it yet.

Curium actually got there first, though he didn't realize Basalt had moved in for a while because he was too busy with his experiments to notice, and Basalt wasn't ready to see what the weird noises in the lower levels were coming from. He was a bit more concerned with the ghosts and Ido, anyways.

most of the ghosts were too excited to meet a necromancer to be like 'oh yeah there's a guy living here already. just btw.'

They bicker a lot nowadays but they also share a room. It may not be official, but they do sleep together (literal) more often than not. So.

The Horror of Pyrope and Zeolite

This section is for...clarification, I guess

The horror is not ‘oh no, they’re grotesque and disabled now’

The horror is ‘They were hurt, horribly, and someone used this as an opportunity to further their own goals, hurting them even more.’

The horror of Pyrope isn’t “Poor man, he’s a horrid monster now and no one loves him.”

The horror is “He thinks he’s a disgusting beast that needs to stay away from everyone, and the only person he feels he can talk to is the man who caused him to view himself that way. He can’t live the same way he had before and he’s in pain, because of someone who was supposed to make him better.”

…he can also talk to the guy in the basement, but he’s gone completely mad and doesn’t really hold a conversation well anyways, so. 

The horror of Zeolite isn’t “He’s only got one eye now!!! He’s a scary cyborg!”

It’s “What was phrased as an offer to help with a disability was actually a way of spying on everyone around Zeolite, and he is entirely unaware of this.”

The horror of their situations is “They were experimented on by someone who claimed to, and was meant to, help them. And now they’re isolating themselves or at risk of hurting others, because of that person using them to further their own agenda.” 

Zeolite’s eye is meant to look fucking dope. Because frankly the fact that its a functional eye IS dope. It’s so cool. 

Pyrope would also probably get lots of people simping over him if I could do him justice. He’s ace, but people liking his appearance? He can’t imagine it. And I’d give him a hug and kiss his face but that’s just me.

Unfortunately, how they ended up like that is horrible

Petalite

I am considering that Petalite's little parasitic buddy is made of corruption from Basalt

It's a very concentrated form of it, and Curium was intending to see if he could 'cure' them and 'give them their voice back' (not the right terms at all but my brain isn't working). Instead, though, his experiments brought the corruption to life, quite literally. It's probably quite content helping Basalt, except maybe it's not happy about being a minion and not partially in charge. On the other hand, it came from Basalt, so it might be perfectly fine with following his orders. Either way, it wants to make people suffer for no reason other than its own amusement. Also it's a dramatic bitch. 

This would make Petalite register as a corrupt to other spirits. The corruption seems to be concentrated in one specific part of her body, which is weird, but the only explanation is that she’s a corrupt. Right…?

If basalt said he’d decided to let astra live but still kill everyone else in the multiverse so it could just be the two of them, astra would find it so romantic and hot. I think he needs therapy. …who am i kidding of course he needs therapy

I don’t know if anyone was actually going to ask but yes, we pushed Curium and Basalt together. Not for the main canon timeline, just a side timeline. Curium is such a little shit and Basalt refuses to let him think he even kind of likes him in any way, shape, or form. But it’s not working. They’re so dysfunctional and Curium is having SO much fun tormenting him and teasing him and Basalt is SO mad but he can’t do anything about it. Because he does like Curium’s sadistic bitch ass.

We also pushed Curium and Gouge together. They’re so sadistic and fucked up i think that if Toasty happened with H!DS and H!JMV/DINTIS, Gouge would actually help Curium out sometimes. And curium thinks she’s soooooo cool. They’ll never talk about feelings but he respects and admires her so much and she’s actually kinda impressed that the doctor man is such a sadistic bastard. He’s so much fun to hang out with.

Umbra

Umbra is rather quiet. He also has magic related to light, but in his case it’s the absence of light. He seems to absorb any light around him, whereas Astra seems to almost glow. He disappears in dark places without even trying. 

He’s determined to find out what the fuck is happening in the manor, and why Ido seems to know so much about him even though they just met. He also really. Wants to get Astra away from Basalt. Astra what are you DOING

if we really want to talk about original versions then his original version is sans undertale himself but we don't have to think about that. canon undertale seems so far away now

Astra is a little shit. Personality-wise, he’s not terribly different from normal Jet, but there’s something wrong with him. more so than with jet. He very much has a thing for sadistic, crazy bastards. Also he’s more than a little obsessive with people he decides he really likes, which presently just includes Umbra and Basalt.

He has, on at least one occasion, followed Basalt around while trying not to look like that’s what he’s doing. Basalt almost certainly noticed, but he’s kind of flattered. they’re perfect for each other <33

He’s able to manipulate light, though, and can turn himself invisible by bending the light so it doesn’t reflect off of him. He can even hide other people and objects, though this has a very limited range. Hypothetically, he could also reveal Ido in his ghost form, but he’ll have to know where Ido is to do that.

Larimar

Larimar is officially having The Worst time. Thanks to Curium, he shares an ability with Basalt, but his case is much more potent, and it drove him insane. 

He’s the only one who’s seen Pyrope lately. The others know this, and wonder if that has something to do with what happened to him. but nope! curium

Lari spends most of his time sitting on the floor in his cell and muttering incoherently under his breath, staring at things on the ceiling that aren’t there, and occasionally yelling at Curium and Basalt like they can hear him. Curium can’t, but it gives Basalt as much of a headache as if Lari was screaming in his ear. Lari only stops when Basalt threatens to come down there.

Frankly, Basalt doesn’t know why he keeps Lari around. Ido’s clearly too busy being half dead to hang out with his ‘friend’, and it’s not like Basalt couldn’t make an excuse as to why Lari can’t visit anymore.

He’s fucked up literally everyone except Basalt and it’s only a matter of time before he figures out how to get Basalt under his control <333 

I’m not kidding he might actually figure it out and then they’ll all be fucked. 

Curium doesn’t have any big grand ‘world domination’ ambitions, he just wants to be allowed to do all the unethical experiments that he wants. He’s never used any sort of painkiller on anyone; not for any ‘i don’t want you to get addicted’ reasons, just pure sadism. He wants to see you suffer for his own amusement. 

Btw did you guys know that the real-world element ‘curium’ is highly radioactive :D

Pyrope

I did make a thing for Pyrope, buuuuuuuuuut it’s not anything like how i actually want him to look, so it’s available only by request. He’s supposed to be a big bulky Creature-lookin guy, but i can’t really do that in heroforge so i went the opposite way. Made him reeealllly skinny. But as i said; not what i want him to look like

Pyrope was Curium’s first victim. Zeolite and Basalt are the only other ones who saw Pyrope before that, but now no one ever sees him. 

The others know Pyrope exists and cooks and cleans for them, but he never seems to be around during the day. The only signs of his presence are the occasional grocery lists left out, full meals for everyone, and the fact that everything is always clean, despite most of them hardly having any time to do such things. Sometimes there are weird things on the grocery lists, though.

He’s been largely disfigured from Curium’s experiments. 

Before this, they didn’t realize just how crazy Curium was. Basalt found him a bit odd, but he didn’t pay it any mind. Zeolite and Pyrope always got a really bad vibe from him, but tried not to hold that against him.

But when Pyrope got sick, Basalt found out quite fast what Curium was like. He didn’t exactly get a front row seat, but he did get to sit in the living room and ‘watch’ it happen. 

Zeolite took a bit longer. Basalt didn’t tell him anything that he saw, he just said that he wasn’t allowed to see Curium on his own anymore. ‘Just in case.’ It took until someone else became his test subject for Zeolite to realize why, and only now does he suspect what happened to Pyrope.

Before all of this, Pyrope was pretty much the exact same as Jasper. He was a little on the sickly side, but nothing too serious until that day. 

Nowadays he’s much, much larger, with various deformities that he wouldn’t have had without Curium’s intervention. He considers himself a monster (derogatory), and is sure that everyone else would too if they saw him. 

He’s very hard to hurt, and even harder to kill, but the disease still fucked up his lungs. Also, due to Curium’s procedure, his eyes are much more sensitive to light. As such, he’s taken to a more nocturnal sleep pattern. None of the rooms have decent blackout curtains, though, so he usually finds a closet to sleep in.

If he asked for really good ones they’d probably be happy to get him some. but he's too scared to try to talk to them.

Because Curium still technically saved his life, Pyrope is in Curium’s debt. He helps Curium acquire various materials, though oftentimes that just means asking the others to get it from the outside world for them. Pyrope tries to make sure Curium can’t hurt anyone else with his experiments, but he sleeps when Curium’s awake and doing things, so…

But he tries. And he’s doing what he can to help Lari, even if Lari seems to be beyond help.

Curium claims that he ‘created’ Pyrope, and if he finds it necessary he knows how to ‘get rid of him.’ Pyrope doesn’t believe him, but he’s pretty sure Basalt will protect him anyways. He cooks and cleans for the entire manor, and he knows Basalt isn’t very happy with Curium’s bullshit. And if Basalt won’t protect him, the manor will. The manor always tries to make him comfortable when he needs to sleep. He trusts it. 

And a good thing, too, because if Curium really wanted Pyrope gone he could probably find a way to get Basalt on board with the idea

Petalite

Petalite can’t open their mouth. I mean, they can. But they really don’t like to. Fortunately it’s easier for them to remember not to do that than it is for Celestite, seeing as how they were already mute. 

Curium wanted to see if he could ‘give them their voice back’. Or, like, make their vocal chords actually usable. the exact phrasing depends on whether they've been mute their whole life or if it happened later on. Instead, he managed to create a magical parasite that lives in their voice box and can’t be removed. Partially because it’ll tear your head off if you try.

It doesn’t really want to be stuck with Petalite, but it doesn’t think it can survive being removed, and can you really blame it for not wanting to die?

It doesn’t like anyone though. It will kill you. Unless you’re Celestite or Basalt. In Celestite’s case, no one’s sure if it actually likes her or if her voice affects it.

It’s extremely violent. When it comes out to play, it comes out through Petalite’s mouth, and they can no longer control it or themselves. It basically just drags their body along as it attacks anyone in its line of sight. It takes great pleasure in hurting others, and has nearly killed Zeolite and Ametrine before.

The parasite has a humanoid upper torso, but everything under that is just. noodle. They're entirely pitch black in color. It can just sit in Petalite's actual mouth, if it wants to hang out and talk, but when it comes out of her mouth it grows. Just how much it grows depends on how far out it goes, but it can get about as big as Petalite.

It wants to be free, but is paranoid that trying to separate itself from Petalite will kill it, so it silently plots and tries to find a way to get 'unstuck' and leave. Petalite often experiences extreme discomfort (if not outright pain) from it trying to free itself from where it's tethered in their neck.

The Creature seems to like Celestite pretty well, though, which is good, because Petalite doesn’t think she could deal with this totally alone. They can ‘talk’, but it’s not really them. Celestite’s the only one who can tell the difference between the two voices, but it’s not hard to tell who’s talking since Petalite normally can’t form a whole word, and when they do seem to they don’t even move their mouth.

Petalite has scars on their hands and lower forearms where they were forced to wear metal gloves when they ‘said’ something they weren’t supposed to.

They also have scars around their mouth from their parasite ‘friend’ coming out to play.

Celestite

She is also selectively mute, but for very different reasons than Zeolite.

Celestite got a pretty nasty cough around when she first got to the manor, and Curium’s experiments have given her a hypnotic voice. The longer you listen to her, the more you fall under her sway. 

She can’t exactly turn it off, either. She tries to keep quiet so she doesn’t hypnotize everyone. As a result of having two people who speak (almost) exclusively in ASL, though, the whole team is very fluent. So is Curium, though Pyrope and Ido probably don’t know much. 

She’s is an interesting case of ‘would be talkative but is terrified to talk’. She keeps slipping up, too. She’s still not used to her siren voice. Petalite seems to be the only one immune. Celestite also knows when you’re lying or hiding something, and how to get the truth out of you. She’s the only one that Petalite’s ‘friend’ will listen to.

Some time after being experimented on, she used her power on Basalt. She claims it was an accident. Basalt didn’t believe her. He sent her to Curium on her own.

Her mouth was sewn shut for quite a while. We didn’t figure out how long exactly, but it was long enough that Curium had to make sure she could push a straw into her mouth to drink and, to a certain extent, eat. It was painful.
