Wiem, że miało być dłużej, ale #Hades of @SupergiantGames mnie tak mocno kupiło, że musiałem o tym napisać i przypomnieć wszystkim tę grę, tak w kilku słowach (i linku do ciągle aktualnej recenzji z czasów Early Access). Zapraszam i polecam, wasz grafoman
Nie potrafię pisać chwytliwych tytułów, ale za to bardzo lubię się cieszyć z rzeczy, zarówno malutkich, jak i wielkich.

Could I request Gojo, Nanami, Geto, Toji, and Mahito with their s/o getting injured while fighting alongside them? Who rushes to their side to tend to them and who goes after the attacker?? I'm always a sucker for this hc prompt!!

♡ Gojo is used to carrying a fight on his own. This is not the first time his partner has been injured whilst they are on a mission - but it’s the first time it’s been you, his partner in more than one way, the person he thinks he might want to spend the rest of his life with--. So he ends up amping up the fighting - if this isn’t a special grade curse, it’s suddenly being treated like one, because if there’s one thing Gojo isn’t in control of it’s how much he loves you. He has lost too many people in his life, and this curse has just threatened another one of them, and this isn’t something that he’ll take lightly. If Gojo makes far more of a mess out of the scene of the battle then he needed to in order to take it out and teach the curse a lesson, so be it. He’s quick dispatching it so that he can feel less guilty about rushing over to your side - he’s had the weight of the world on his shoulders for too long to shirk his duty, but that doesn’t mean he’s not thinking about you the whole time. He’s bent over you in an instant, pulling you into him, asking if you’re alright and trying not to let the worry show. If you can talk and still seem at least to be within yourself, he cracks jokes as best he can about how you’ve gotten him worried, and never to do that again even as he tries to get you to Shoko as soon as possible. You’ll find that Gojo’s influence means you’re not asked to go on a mission for a couple of days, despite how short-staffed everyone is - but when you ask him about it, he shrugs it off with a steely look in his eye. “Guess it’s just not that busy, cupcake - more time for you to stay home and eat sweets and recover!”

♡ Nanami thinks that being a jujutsu sorcerer fucking sucks, sometimes. And he has not felt how much it sucks so concretely as when you’re knocked onto your back and he sees an arc of blood, hears a sickening crack. He knows he has a duty, and he’s never been the kind of man who leaves it behind - but, like Gojo, he can’t help but let his frustration and anger show through in the way he wields his weapon and the way his teeth grit. Nanami is a formidable enemy at any time, but he’s practically possessed himself now - if he loses you, he will never forgive himself. He has given up too many parts of himself for this job (for both of the jobs he’s inhabited), and you are a bright spot of sunshine in his life. He can’t lose you. He can’t, he can’t, he can’t. So he hacks and he slashes and the moment the curse is gone he’s lifting you up, checking your pulse, trying to keep himself under control even though his heart is beating erratically and memories of other people he hasn’t saved are flooding his head. He can’t stop thinking about how shit this job is, how bullshit it is that you’re expected to die in the line of duty - and then, your eyes open and you cough, and Nanami feels a heavy weight lift from him as he stares into your eyes. Your wounds are treated by Nanami if he can, or by Shoko if they’re too bad - and when the two of you get home, Nanami begins to flip through property books and magazines as he tells you with a tight jaw that the two of you should really think about retiring in the next few years.

♡ Geto is incredibly loyal to those he cares about - the little family of curse users that he’s built up all around them. And you are no different - as his beloved, you occupy a different plane. Something more important than even he realises. He loves having you beside him, wrapping his arms around you, watching you with Mimiko and Nanako - after becoming a curse user, he didn’t think he’d ever find such pure happiness as he’s found in you. So it’s no surprise that when he watches you get injured in the battle, he’s driven a little bit wild with his rage. 
He comes to you first, because he is lucky enough to have a technique that means he can release curses to fight for him as he checks you over. The sight of you bent and broken, your beautiful face perhaps bruised, your eyes closed, makes him feel like he could tear the world apart for you. If your eyes do open, and he’s able to ascertain that you’ll be safe, his priority is to get you out of harm’s way.
If they don’t, and you’re hurt more than he can help with at that moment . . . whoever did it is going to regret having ever been born.

♡ Toji is immediately bothered when he hears your soft cry of pain. He will not go to you immediately, because he is a professional and the job has to come first - but you can rest assured that he’s running through every possibility in his head, wondering when he can get to your side the quickest. This is a man whose battle skills are superior to almost anyone’s in the world - it’s not that difficult for him to re-arrange his steps, to goad his victim closer to your body so he can work out what the damage is. If you’re merely unconscious, his victim might get off luckily, and Toji may do his work with one clean, quick slice.
If you’re bleeding, though, or something looks broken, or you’re crying - Toji is not so merciful. If you ever get hurt, he wants it to be because you asked him for it and he wants you to enjoy the process - that this enemy would dare lay a finger on you frustrates him to no end. Toji is rather a possessive man. The victim is going to know exactly how he fucked up as Toji brings a painful end to their life, as Toji explains to them like they’re a child before he watches the light drain from their eyes.
Toji is going to do his best to take care of you until whatever injuries you sustain have healed, but this isn’t necessarily a good thing. Toji isn’t exactly the most ideal of sickroom companions, and his bedside manner can be appalling.

♡ Mahito says that you are an interesting toy, an experiment - that you’re human, and you are expendable, like all of them are. His main goal, he tells himself, is more important than his silly feelings towards a squishy little person who doesn’t matter. He doesn’t care if you get hurt, if you die; if you were to disappear from his life tomorrow, he thinks, it wouldn’t matter. But he is lying to himself, because the minute that you are in the heat of battle and the path of something dangerous, something in him kicks in.
He normally does not pick fights he cannot win - there’s a streak of cowardliness in the middle of him, though he doesn’t often feel it due to knowledge of how powerful he is. But hearing your noise of pain, seeing your body tossed aside like trash awakens something in him. He does care about you, you’re not trash, you might be one of the only good things about the human world that has ever existed--
And Mahito throws himself into fighting with everything he has. When Mahito’s hand touches this poor creature that has had the misfortune to have attacked Mahito’s most beloved little human, they are going to become the guinea pig for some of the more unhinged experimentations with Idle Transfiguration that Mahito can do. And he hopes that they retain their consciousness all the way through it. He wants to make them suffer.

is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?
There's a couple ...
The second chapter of A Perfect Pair was tricky because I had Ed and Stede stuck in a room together for the (second) reunion and it was imperative that Ed not immediately give in and take Stede back - this was tough because I started the whole fic by noting that she was about halfway ready to when Stede wasn't even there, and then she went and rescued her and had all the old protective feelings woken up again. Really had to work to amp up the drama. I had to take out about two pages of dialogue and rewrite, which is not commonplace for me (I edit while I write and so I don't normally do the whole hack-and-slash at a rough draft thing).
Waitin' For My Dearie was also a massive struggle and it's not even 2k! Went through a lot of angst about whether I was projecting too much and if it was all too pathetic.

imagine tommy getting hurt like by a demodog or something and after that steve and billy NEVER let him fight monsters without one of them firmly by their side bc as much as tom THINKS he can kick ass he is a BABY and also clumsy as shit and his injury was minor but there was A LOT of blood and it’s the first and only time billy’s allowed himself to cry in front of people other than steve and tommy and steve just goes full panic mom just YELLING at jonathan and carol and joyce as they do first aid and panicking abt infections and “is this like a fucking werewolf thing dusty? he’s not gonna turn into a demodog now, right mike? holy shit holy shit he’s gonna die” and mike and lucas end up handing him juice full of nyquil bc he won’t calm down and is making everyone more on edge
Bro why do all my anons today have such fantastic fucking ideas. Literally I love this.
The teens were on the weekly patrol, in the forest this time. Carol, Robin, Nancy, Steve, Tommy, and Billy all piling into one of their cars and heading out to the forest with various weapons of various lethalities. Steve has his trusty naibat, Nancy has her guns, Billy made the genius decision of taking his knives for both throwing and stabbing, Carol borrows the Byers' axe, Robin takes her bow and arrows, and Tommy uses Billy's tire iron. These teenagers basically look like they're ready to fight the apocalypse. Because they are.
This time, they find a gathering of demodogs which isn't unusual at this point, but it's always unnerving. There's enough there for it to be a challenge, but not enough to need backup. They start fighting the second the demodogs notice them. Billy and Nancy make some of the first strikes and that really breaks the ice.
One of the dogs makes a run for Steve and he lets it get just close enough for him to make a solid swing to its head that gets his bat covered in the green substance that they just call blood for simplicity's sake. Nancy shoots one that was trying to come up behind Robin and it falls to its side with the shock, giving Robin an opening to shoot it in the head.
Tommy played baseball with Steve for years so he has a good swing of his own that's amped up by the metal of the tire iron. A demodog jumps up at him and he swings at it before it gets a chance to latch on. Carol hacks at the torso of one while Billy fillets a demodog that's trying to jump over him to get to her, soaking himself in the liquid, green, stench of death. Robin continues shooting them to incapacitate so that the others can finish them off for sure once they're all down.
They spend a few minutes shooting and slashing and swinging at the heads of demodogs until the ground around them is littered with blood and teeth and flesh. They take a couple collective deep breaths to cool their adrenaline, though Billy breathes through his mouth because of the stench he's currently bathed in.
It's at this moment that Steve notices the laceration going from part of his forehead through his eyebrow. He rushes to Tommy and holds his face in both hands.
"Oh my god Tommy! Are you okay?"
Tommy reaches up to feel where Steve is clearly looking and sees that his hand comes back down red and sticky. Billy put a hand on Steve's shoulder, "He's gonna be fine, Stevie. It doesn't look too bad, just a little cut."
The drive back is actually spent mostly comforting Steve, though Billy is making sure Tommy is keeping the wound covered. When they get to the Byers' it takes a couple people to wrestle Steve onto the couch while Tommy sits in the dining room so that Joyce and Jonathan can take a look.
Steve is freaking out to the kids, asking them all kinds of ridiculous questions because he's quite literally freaking out.
"Is this like a werewolf type thing? Is he gonna turn into a demodog now? How long does he have? Holy shit. Oh fuck. He's gonna die. There was so much blood, he's gonna die for sure."
Billy kneels down in front of him so that he can tell Steve that head wounds naturally bleed a lot. He's not gonna die. Of course, he then has to go tell the same thing to Tommy who was also starting to freak out because of Steve's reaction. Mike and Lucas roll their eyes because Steve is still asking all sorts of nonsense. The two of them get up and go to the Byers' fridge and pour Steve a glass of orange juice. Mike runs to the bathroom to get the nyquil from the medicine cabinet, running back to pour a cap full into the orange juice. They give it to Steve and e downs it without much thought.
Tommy is breathing a bit deeper now and has calmed down. His forehead is patched up and now he's going to Steve's side and hugging him, telling him he's alright while Steve slowly falls asleep in his arms.

Despite its title, this game has nothing to do with eating gods at all as that would definitely cause some religious backlash. Story
God Eater refers to the juiced-up monster hunters who fights, well, monsters. It’s anime-inspired narrative means they’ll be three things:
A metric-tonne of fan-service
Waifus & Husbandos
Exaggerated grunts & moans
If you ever watched an anime in your life before, then the narrative is self-explanatory and I’m not gonna go into further details because of the tropes and cliche you’d expect is present here. It is however very well-crafted and compelling, especially for a game of the monster-hunting genre so it’s best you experience it yourself.
Gameplay
Hack & Slash a monster’s body parts then turn them into your own weapons to be used against other monsters. It’s hard to describe it but the game just feels so nice to play due to how fluid the fast-paced combat is. The game is basically that and repeat until you get more aesthetically-pleasing weaponry as you’re gonna get wrecked by even more savage monsters as the game’s difficulty amps up.
Graphics
The Anime-esque art style is fitting for its Anime-esque story. Not to mention, the clean and sleek user interface is a sight for sore eyes, that is unless you happen to find a mess to be more appealing (if you do, please go seek help). There isn’t much to say other than, it’s very pleasing to look at and you’ll only experience such if you personally see the game with your own eyes through a Switch’s screen.
Performance
This is probably the smoothest Switch game I’ve ever experienced. Sure it’s not 60fps but there was not a single slowdown and the load times were nearly non-existent. Despite the hectic action that can take place, there was not a single noticeable frame drop and it’s just very soothing to see how butter smooth the game runs on such a small screen
Play If -
Any fans of Monster Hunter or the genre itself will surely find this refreshing as it less methodological in a way due to its fast paced nature. Even so, quick thinking is still crucial and therefore, this action-oriented challenges your skills in a whole new way
If you’re both a hack n’ slash and anime fan, then this is basically your wet dream in a video game format.
Don’t Play If -
The game does get stressful at times with the grinding and drop chance for weapon upgrades as well as unexpected difficulty spikes, so if you lack patience in reality, then I can only wish you the best in life.

I'm convinced Reign of Winter is cursed. I've been in two groups that ran it and both ended early. Neither got past book 3
Well, it would be fitting that an adventure path that’s all about Baba Yaga would be cursed. Right up @wearehag ‘s alley.
That’s not why it doesn’t tend to last, I don’t think. There are a few major problems with an otherwise brilliantly designed adventure.
Arctic Survival Simulation
I ran it for total newbs and, before character creation, realized that they would have an especially hard time of it because of the weather rules. With winter, you have to deal with water freezing (affecting your rations), maintaining body heat (cold damage and hypothermia rules), difficult terrain (snow slowing movement, ice requiring Acrobatics/Balance checks), and low visibility.
And that’s constant.
If you’re in the sort of group that likes simulating the adventure aspect, that could be a lot of fun. However, for a lot of people, that’s mostly just hassle. The Player’s Guide has a trait that grants Cold Resistance (I think it was like 2) and there’s a cloak in the first adventure that gives something like that, so pretty quickly the basic survival aspect goes out the window...except for having drinking water, for which you have fire spells. The spark cantrip works really well here.
But again, here we are at the problem with at-will cantrips applied to what cantrips we get. Create water negates a big problem with desert campaigns and breeze makes them much easier. Suddenly, what was a problem of survival becomes a problem of movement and visibility, which is just annoying. For the simulationists, magic has ruined the fun; for everyone else, magic isn’t doing enough.
Rails + No Down Time
Once you get your TARDIS Dancing Hut, you’d think you’d have access to literally anywhere in the cosmos. Even if you were wanting to stick to the campaign, that should mean that you could go back to town whenever you want (so long as you can get back to the Dancing Hut).
...but no.
There is only one point at which the party can easily back out of matters: before they walk through the portal from Taldor to Irrisen. After that, they’re pretty much stuck going through the adventure as it wants them to, especially once they get to the Hut. Instead of a TARDIS, it works more like a train going from one station to the next, only they have to buy a ticket (find special objects in the hut) to get to the next station.
The plot does not let up, either. Given that you’re going from 1st level at the very beginning to 17th level (or so) by the end of the AP but you never have time to craft, buy or sell items, or really decompress, it’s like half of what you might want to do as a character is forbidden.
There’s very little player agency with this one. It’s an epic-enough path that it needs to be a full AP, but it plays like an overextended single adventure.
Russian Folklore
Without getting into the frequent Tumblr posts about whether not to draw from cultures outside the norm in fantasy, you have to play to your audience. Chances are, you’re not going to have a group that is big on Slavic mythology. I was unfortunate to have a group that didn’t know anything about Rasputin, the Romanovs, or the Russian Revolution -- topics I thought were covered in high school and were interesting enough that everyone knew a teeny bit about.
When you’re running an adventure that takes away a lot of player agency, it usually does so (as indeed is the case here) because it wants to treat them as audience members and delight them with references. If they don’t get the references, they’re not going to be entertained, which ruins the adventure.
Hack and Slash
What agency players do have is in how they approach combat. There’s not a lot they can do, however: most everything they find is hostile due to being a fey bound to winter (mechanically via a template that makes them evil; I think the justification is that it’s part of Baba Yaga et al’s rule). 90% of your interactions are just fights. Sure, the encounter design (from what I’ve read and run) is fantastic, but many a group will grow tired of only getting to run around killing things.

As to watching movies with bad special effects? Sure. You don't need a big budget to entertain me. I'm not a fan of horror flicks especially hack and slash, but low budget movies? I'm always game!
So some recent horror movie experiences?
I would not consciously seek out and watch such a movie. . . though I would also not go out of my way to not be present when friends and family are enjoying such a flick. Actually DDBot and I watched the original 'IT' about 2 months ago. Um, but I fell asleep before the end, so. . .
DDBot and I recently watched the new 'IT' and 'IT 2' at her behest. I fell asleep for 'IT 2' and she turned it off so we could finish it a couple of nights later because she knows I'm a total fangirl for James McAvoy and would want to finish it out.
I am super interested in seeing the Quiet Place. This might be because of my mild obsessions with Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. But I also think the premise is amazing.
