not rly, the reason I left tumblr back in 2014 is because I had begun to find it really difficult to cope with social media as a general concept,

like when you think about it it is pretty unsettling that hundreds or even thousands of people are looking at your thoughts and feelings and then deliberating each time on whether not they approve of them, and if they do it’s fed back to you through your notifications. it’s kinda a sweet trap for people with a predilection for social anxiety since it offers a way to communicate without face-to-face interaction but as you become more engrossed in it it begins to pick at your over-awareness like a scab

Does a podcast ever release a take you disagree with so strongly it makes you question everything you heard on it up to that point

#this is so niche and only interesting to other people who spend 10 hours a day listening to podcasts so i'm putting it in the tags #but s1ep3 of invisibilia about the blind guy who learned to echolocate so well he could ride a bike was fucking wild #the take was like. okay okay backing up a bit we all agree disability is socially constructed in some ways right?#ie people treat blind people in certain ways that reinforce an inability to function in society get jobs etc #they have certain expectations of people who are blind that can be limiting. right. so we all agree on that #but that was not the end of the take! the take was that because disability is socially constructed the solution is #to expect the same level of independence from blind people as you do from seeing people #and that also was not the end of the take because the way this man tried to accomplish that was forcing blind children to climb trees #this guy had achieved a high level of independence but in the process of learning to echolocate had knocked out multiple teeth #he was like 'the biggest barrier to blind people's ability to function in society is their parents' love for them'#because parents prevent blind children from exploring getting close to roads etc #and anyway i think that although parents may infantilize blind children more than necessary there is a strong financial incentive to #make sure they do not get hit by a car or break a bone #the solution of just getting blind people to act exactly like seeing people also seems odd #what's wrong with requiring help from others? why have we decided independence is the only way to function in society?#should all disabled people just be willing to injure themselves in order to get as close as possible to independence #in order to hold down a job which we have decided is the only way to earn the right to live #is there only one correct way to live a life?#it truly baffled me. i was sorting that mail going 👀👀🤔#anyway. this has been your podcast take of the day

i do still think datv feels very … disconnected from the previous trilogy, and that parts of it don’t really Feel like dragon age to me. that being said, i’m still having a fun time

#txt #sophie plays datv #datv spoilers #i kind of went into the game expecting this though after reading reviews #i still think BioWare really failed with not having a world state import #datv definitely suffers from not having those little callbacks from previous games that made the others feel connected #i also agree with what a few people have said about the accents being all over the place for each region #i think all the new factions and regions and things aren’t helping either #because they’re new and don’t feel the same as previous games - and there’s no little threads of familiarity to help with that #and a lot of these places have been so hyped for 10+ years that they inevitably probably don’t feel as good as i expected them to #all that being said I am still having fun though #despite the hand-holdy storytelling and disconnectedness #I can just tell that datv won’t be my fave instalment in the series tho rip #oh another gripe i have is that rook really has no personal investment in the main storyline #like??? why should they care???#every previous protag has been intrinsically connected to what’s going on #rook just feels like a random picked off the street to save the world #it all feels a little impersonal to me but whatever

what is it about avenday that makes me snap and go crazy with my art i wonder

#ive drawn way more in volume in the 10 months ive known them #than i have for FOUR YEARS btw 😭😭😭😭😭#four years of SWITCHING FANDOMS AND SHIPS TOO...#one of which is genshin #scratches head like. the closest to this ship wise is thomato #that ive drawn for an extended period #maybe like a year? on and off? bc sumeru distracted me and we got no content of them for a while so ofc #but no i dont think its the content/lack thereof that is a factor......#bc avenday have only met a few times i will say... and sometimes having a lot of screentime has the opposite effect too #where i feel 'satisfied' with the ship in game and in fanworks (see: kavetham+shuake)#i think its a bunch of factors actually....#for example 1) their designs are both smth fun to learn and i like both equally. uncomplicated or at least easy to pinpoint?#for aforementioned thomato i wish Thoma wore something else at times :3 ayato was always the prettier of the two but all good yknow #and 2) not having to switch voiceovers for avenday to parse them helps #i like aven and sunday's voices in ALL languages. i will never tire of hearing them. over and over.#using thomato as an example again. i constantly have to switch to JP to listen to Ayato bc i dislike his EN voice lowkey ahhhghh 😭#and this coming from a guy who loves dimitri EN voice is crazey i know.. i just think the directing for genshin studio is shit sometimes bc #i KNOW chris hackney can do way better. and he has the range. also i realize i'm saying all these noble and beautiful things about the channel from the purest depths of my heart. but actually i'm also just doing this because i fucking love the witcher books and it pisses me off that people don't know about them that much in english and i can only go for so long (seven years) with people not knowing that there are books. or that the witcher is from the 90s. or polish.

The fact that pots and cfs/me is incurable (I'm convinced that that's a lie, just like with "incurable" stuff like cancers, there is possible treatments, but doctors couldn't give less of a fuck about us and thus aren't doing research on what could help us) and this constant song and dance of fighting with parents and doctors to get help or even believed at all and going nowhere. And most importantly, that this is my new forever, and I'll NEVER be able to go back to what i could do only 2 years ago, is finally sinking in

And I'm only fucking 21, 20 when it started

I'm seeing people lamenting about not being able to do what they did in their 20s now, but i haven't even got to try adulthood at all before it got ripped away from me forever

How the fuck am i supposed to keep going knowing that no one will ever understand or give me help, i will constantly get not believed and pushed into crashes by doing the bare minimum, and everything i was planning and excited about doing because of the freedom of adulthood, be it learning new hobbies, travelling somewhere, or just where and how I'd like to move in and live in the future, has to be dumped in the trash

But yeah it's all anxiety in my head. Go take walks, loose weight, drink water, play less video games (i play around 6 hours a week) and go play board games at the public library, they say

#usually those kind of vents never leave my drafts #but i'm so fucking done #if i keep getting pushed while refusing to give me the help i need #I'm gonna get stuck in a wheelchair at best. or genuinely bed bound at worst #i know it. i SAW it in cfs and pots spaces while looking for advice and help #it keeps happening. and i can see how the same thing that made them end up like that is happening to me #having to live in and fight this body is already bad enough #why do i have to keep fighting *everyone* around me on top #the more I'm forced to have to interact with government official healthcare like assurance maladie centers or the mdph (disability house)#the worst i get treated #so far. what I've seen is that the best way for me to get help is going to highly specific. rare. and scattered around the country. private #and expensive specialists #it's how i got my autism diagnosis after 15 years of running around therapist to therapist #it's how i (half) got my pots diagnosis after almost 10 years of being told I'm “just fat and don't do sports” (a lie on both front btw)#if i want anything. i need to avoid official infrastructures. save up money. and drive for hours. and hope that i win the coinflip of them #knowing what they're talking about #thought getting a diagnosis still hasn't gotten me any help. but at least i can fill up the official disability paper and wait for an answe #though I'm sure I'll have to fight with them too #cfs/me #pots syndrome #PROBABLY CAN'T DRIVE TOO BECAUSE OF MY DISABILITIES. I am physically incapable of packing my room up at normal hours it's always 1-3am that I'm most productive I swear

Me googling "low blood sugar" only to find out that it is NOT common or normal for non-diabetic people to experience. I experience it somewhat frequently.

#last night had a bit of a scare #took too long to realize how hungry I was #started getting really weak and nauseous #and started sweating so badly. I had been fine 10 minutes before #parents had to get me food because I was too weak to get it myself #dad told me that's what happens to him when his blood sugar is low (he's diabetic)#I'm so confused now why is this happening to me #I mean I always knew I don't do well if I go too long without food but I thought everyone was like that #at least to some extent yk?#apparently not though #apparently fantasy book characters don't have supernatural powers that keep them functioning after skipping two meals #help lol #idk what to do #I'm pretty sure I'm not diabetic because I feel like I would have other symptoms?#and I know that diabetic people usually only have low blood sugar when they take too much insulin #and I don't take insulin because I'm not diabetic #so. idk. what should I do #any advice would be appreciated

Im kinda curious on that offhand mention,,,

Tbf I didn't really do much with the idea now as it is, but it's just one of those fun crack plots that I would like to do if I'm free of the main part of the AU and am still kicking heh. Basically, you are 100% right: everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. We're talking about missed trains, lost in caves, lots of random splitting up (intentionally or unintentionally), getting more lost, trying to stay undercover with random fanclubs, sneaking into places they shouldn't be, more getting lost, and tons of other problems lol.

Totally not a solid 'fic' as it is, but I'm thinking that they went to Unova to just unwind and see another point of view as part of a vacation therapy professional training. They do have outings before but not on this large of a scale, and basically they have to choose replacements before leaving and it's a whole mess back in Kalos as well lol. But even in Unova they do not have peace (not even the plane ride was safe from shenanigans!).

They do meet the Gym Leaders in Unova and have... a relationship (although how good or beneficial it is seems questionable) and the Kalos Gym Leaders are basically just stuck with each other for like a month in a different region. They have to wear different clothes. They sign in the same PokeCentres (because some of them wanted that experience again) (also anonymity). They're all distracted and have to deal with each others shortcomings and while it has a lot of (and I mean a lot) of diffiulties and issues arising, it does bring them more together. And they learn to have fun. And also just learn about each otehr too and how to support each other.

#believe me i have way too many crack ideas as well as just some expanding fic ideas for almost everyone ever #it's a whole thing. it's sad though because they're all so far away from where i am currently writing #and i don't want to lose my train of thought or contradict myself later on #so they're just floating around in my head with strange cutscenes lol #clem is just so fed up with everything at this point. he already journeyed through a region! he's not that close with these guys anyways #viola and grant just having the chespin and pancham dynamic here. yes it was grant who fell off the ferry that one time #but in her defense he said that he could swim the whole way!#you know deep in your heart that korrina will challenge every gym leader there. she won't say anything just show up and battle #and then its just a matter of time until they realise who she is lol. she's going around collecting badges and by the end of it gets seven #all because wulfric couldn't help but run over to brycen before anyone could say anything. cheapskate.#btw yeah that's his only reason for being there. wulfric is just there to see brycen-man and get his autograph #he's chill with everything else though. mostly.#ramos is just inexplicably in the background doing something. no one knows where he goes off to but by the end of it #he has like 10 suitcases full of pokeballs (more grass types) different types of tea gardening tools and other stuff #WAIT i'm just thinking about cynthia's villa lol. imagine the group getting jumpscared by it #valerie is like: yeah elesa said this is where we'll meet someone very good :3 #olympia: don't it's clearly a trap and omg korrina why did you open it #and it's just her garchomp standing there with a bowl of cereal #look i'm getting so many ideas as it is lol maybe i should just do this one #i actually have quite a few fics on the gym leaders doing some crazy stuff so there's that #also if you're wondering about the kalos e4 they're just going through the paperwork #dealing with the replacements and generally wishing that they could have the vacation instead #but they already used all their days and also diantha won't give them more. which is totally unfair but if they want more #they'll have to beat her. ...yeah it's not going to work out #diancie delivers #very crack but also lots of feels and open moments as well so yay
