trækin are based off of monkeys and tree-dwelling creatures. They are the “humans” of this world. They are good at climbing, and often switch from being upright and being on all fours- their legs are shorter. Their feet can function similarly to hands. They live to about 50-70 years old.

elves are very long-living, from 1,000-10,000 years old. It is said (?) that they are loosely related to the fae, such as dragons and faeries and pixies. There are about 15 families of elves in the world. They commonly keep their hair very long.

d’shallei are a race derived from a type of cattle, known for living in the tundra and the high mountains, built for the cold. They are one of the taller races. They live from 100-200 years old. They are very community orientated. They don’t need or understand the need for strict rules unless in one’s own home.

gnomes are related to trækin, though live in the deep shrub of the forest, and in burrows- a bit like rodents. They are very familial, and gnomes tend to adopt any stray creature they find. Can live from 50-90 years.

All of the original levels from the NES version are now in the gameboy game, I worked on a few songs and sound effects and story scenes as well and colored the stages for GBC, nice productive night.

M'ascot, the pet ferret-chameleon of New Chicago's Captain. With the ability to change colors and wrap around things like a snake, he is often found around the Captain's neck like an ascot, and visitors are often befuddled by how the ascot changes color every time the Captain turns around.

ShiKādo (死カード)

A solitaire murder mystery card game that uses a standard 52 card deck, no Jokers, and 2 d6. Rules under the cut.

You are a detective in the city of Zetsuichi. Murders happen every day, despair running rampant. Cases need to be closed almost as fast as they open, and you're already trying to solve multiple cases. Even still, your heart drops when a new file gets dropped on your desk. Another day, another victim, you sigh to yourself. You have twelve days to figure out the murderer, weapon, and what lead you have to chase.

"This one's tough. Toryu Ouji is the victim, but everyone in the city knows him... Think it might've been someone else at the Diamond Corporation?" -Sergeant Jotaro

Setup

Take the Faces(Kings, Queens, etc.), Aces, and Number cards out of the deck, and sort them into three face down piles. The piles are shuffled, one card drawn from each pile face down. These three cards make up the Truth File, and will determine the Killer(Face), Weapon(Ace), and Lead, not to be revealed until the end. One more face card is drawn, and this is the Victim. Place them face up in the play area.

The remaining cards are shuffled together, then dealt out into a faceup 4x3 grid. This makes up the map of Zetsuichi, and will include the Victim card that was dealt earlier. Once you have the deck on your left, the Map in the center, Truth File above, and dice to your right, you're ready to begin your investigation.

Example play area. Above example, the King of Diamonds is the victim. The Truth File sits above the map of Zetsuichi, and the deck sits to the left. The dice are the dice.

The Day Begins

Days are made of three phases. Rolling to determine how many hours you can spend on this case, Spending the hours to complete actions, and Drawing new cards to fill the empty spaces of the map.

Roll 2 d6. This determines how many Hours you have to work with that day, to devote to the investigation. Why can't you always use your 12 hour shift to spend on this case? The reason is that the rest of your day is devoted to other cases, so if you're lucky, you'll have a light enough load to spend more time on this murder file.

2. Spend Hours to remove cards from the grid. Cards that are removed go into your hand. These make up your Notebook, which you can look at whenever you want. The length of time it takes to complete actions is below:

Investigate(2 Hours): Remove 1 card from the grid. You checked out the city block and were able to rule out a Suspect(face card), Weapon(ace), or Lead. After all, if they're not in the Truth File, they're circumstantial and can be counted out.

Gamble on a Lead(5 Hours): Draw 1 card. Remove all cards on the Map that match the card you drew. For example, if you drew a 5, and there are two other 5's on the map, you can remove them. If you'd drawn a 3, and there aren't any on the map, the gamble didn't pay off.

Coffee Break(1 Hour): You might have an hour left after you've spent your hours investigating. If so, that last hour was spent with a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop, reviewing the facts of the case.

3. Draw new cards to fill in the empty spaces on the grid. The city of Zetsuichi never sleeps. There's always a new Lead to chase, or Suspect to question.

In this example, the deck on the left is much smaller now, as most of the suspects and leads have been whittled down. Your Notebook, on the right, will be very handy.

The End

You have 12 days to solve this crime. At the end of the 12th day, you must make your Accusation. Review the map, and look through your Notebook. Use your deduction and make your case. Now you may review the Truth File. If you were correct, you have given Zetsuichi a moment of hope. But if you were wrong, the cycle of despair continues, as the killer goes free.

"Upon questioning the witness, Shinzō Juuko, it was determined that Haato Kisaki used a knife to do Toryu-san in. I guess you do need to be ruthless to run the Heart Club in this city... Even with all those pretty faces around." -Sergeant Jotaro

In the above example, the Truth File indicates that the Queen of Hearts used a knife to murder the King of Diamonds. The key witness in this case was the Ten of Hearts.
