*Spoilers for the new How to Train Your Dragon, read at your own risk*
Which okay yes I know how everyone feels about live action remakes. Believe me, I feel the same way. But my sister is a huge HTTYD fan and wanted to see it so we went together. Here is my review:
Overall, this is literally the same movie. Practically shot for shot. I mean the dialogue was the same, the camera angles were the same, the music was the same. It was like 90% How to Train Your Dragon (2010). Didn’t add much, didn’t subtract much, but there were a few differences.
The biggest one, I would say, is that the chief of the tribe is apparently not a dynastic position. There are a couple characters who mention something about wanting to be chief someday, which I think was just inherited originally. Astrid especially is vying to be chief, which is even brought up by Hiccup when he mentions how Stoick would probably be proud to have Astrid as his successor since she’s everything that Hiccup isn’t. Also, in the original, the Viking teens dislike Hiccup because he’s puny and awkward and just Not Like Them, and in this version that’s part of it, but the main reason they don’t like him is essentially because he’s a nepo baby. They point out Hiccup’s privilege as the chief’s son, mentioning how he doesn’t have to work as hard as them, or how if he was anyone else’s son, he would’ve been exiled from Berk by then, but because he’s the chief’s son he gets to stay no matter how many messes he causes, and that he wouldn’t have made it to dragon training without Stoick “pulling some strings”. When Hiccup starts to be the star pupil because of the stuff he’s learning from Toothless, they do level off on this and start clamoring to be his friend just like in the original.
Another pretty key difference is that they cut the scene after Test Drive where Hiccup and Toothless are chilling eating fish and the group of Terrible Terrors flies in and Hiccup feeds them. I don’t know why they cut this scene because it’s pretty important. It’s the scene that establishes the Chekhov’s gun of how dragons aren’t fireproof on the inside. This is a really important detail for Hiccup to learn because it’s how he defeats the Green Death. It also includes the important line “everything we know about you guys is wrong”, which isn’t said here, but Hiccup does remark to Astrid during the scene where they’re reading the dragon training manual something like “maybe we’re wrong about them”, which I suppose is pretty similar. But the not fireproof on the inside thing is pretty important. Hiccup does defeat the Green Death in the exact same way, by having Toothless ignite its fire breath first, but there wasn’t a scene where Hiccup learned that dragons can be defeated that way, so that knowledge just kinda seems to come out of nowhere.
Also, when Hiccup discovers Toothless shot down in the woods and can’t bring himself to kill him, he doesn’t say “I did this” with regret. This means that Stoick also doesn’t say “I did this” when he thinks Hiccup is dead, so we don’t get that bookend of the father and son being the same in that instance. Also, when Stoick apologizes to Toothless, there is like a whole minute of dramatic tension before Toothless opens his wings to reveal that Hiccup is alive, when in the original he opened his wings right after Stoick apologized. But I’m glad to say that they did keep the really important shot at the end where Toothless and Hiccup have matching injuries requiring prosthetics. That was a good detail.
This is the only detail of the movie that I actually do think is weird and kind of unnecessary, and that’s the character of Snotlout. Idk why, but in this version, he’s basically the MCU’s version of Flash Thompson. Like instead of being a physically imposing bully, he’s just kind of a show off. He is bigger than Hiccup, but he doesn’t seem “tough”. And much like the MCU Flash, he has this weird relationship with his dad?? Like there are a surprising number of scenes where he tries to impress his dad and his dad completely brushes him off and barely acknowledges his existence, and he even tells Snotlout not to speak to him in public. It was giving Flash at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home when he gets back to New York to find that his butler/chauffeur came to pick him up but not his parents. Like that exact same vibe. It really didn’t add anything to the movie except to make you feel sympathy towards Snotlout I guess but it honestly wasn’t needed and I thought it was weird. (Full disclosure though, I haven’t seen any of the httyd tv shows so I have no idea how Snotlout’s character is expanded in the franchise, so it’s possible that I just don’t understand the full extent of his character)
Pretty much everything else about the movie is the same as the animated one, and I do mean pretty much everything. Hiccup is his normal awkward self, Astrid is a Cool Girl, Gobber suggests putting Hiccup in dragon training, Fishlegs is a dragon nerd, the twins pick on each other, Stoick and Hiccup’s Viking helmets are halves of Valka’s breastplate, all the same dragon species are mentioned, Hiccup is left-handed, and he even eats the bit of fish that Toothless coughs up.
So since the movie is like 90% the original movie, that means that it’s good, or at least mostly good. There’s nothing offensive about it, very little added, very little subtracted. Being live action it obviously doesn’t have the same visuals or ability to do things that you can only do in animation, but they really do try their best to copy like, all of the important shots. If you love How to Train Your Dragon you’ll probably be okay with it since it’s like basically the same movie, but of course it’s hard to beat the magic of the original. But as far as live action remakes go, since it kept pretty much everything, that means that it’s generally very faithful.
Oh but the part at the end where Hiccup decides to leave Toothless behind so he can go to college in Norway to study aviation (even though he already lives in the dragon flying capital of the world) was pretty weird, idk why they did that

For the next time you feel like yapping: I’m about halfway through the gotg game and I would LOVE to hear your opinions on it
this is a REALLY good prompt and i could be here all fucking day discussing every aspect of it and also that i the studio that made it and thief 4 is NOT as bad as everyone thinks it is and they have every right to be proud of it but thats a massive tangent and i havent even started yet. i love thief. garrett i miss you every day. anyway.
the gotg game actually has my fav interpretations of most of the guardians too which surprised me. im assuming ud wanna mostly hear my thoughts on the story stuff anyway even tho i am umm. an action game snob and i have a lot to say abt that stuff too cz its just a fantastic game and it was on my radar long before i actually got into gotg coz the reviews were like 'yo this is a great action game' and im like oooooohhh wiggles my fingers. anyway.
ok this um. turned out really fucking long coz i got wrapped up talking abt magus meta stuff again so. grins. 3k words long. the magus stuff is past the spoiler break bt its. kind of tied to what i was talking abt w the game version so. shrugs
game mantis is BY FAR my fav version of her its like the perfect fusion of her comic appearances in early gotg and the movie version. i like the comic ver bt she can b a little overly serious and i think the shift to make her more light hearted and fun was a good one. like how they changed peter to be a music guy and a tad sillier. i think it fits. and while i do actually like her mcu version its also like. too silly. mcu forgets that shes also like actually very wise and in tune w emotions and how other ppl think, and also a badass martial artist. right. game mantis gets to be all of those things at once. also shoutout to her voice actor for doing an awesome job.
draxxx.... im honestly still not sure if i prefer alien drax or mr douglas drax. if moondragon is around then i def want mr douglas. bt if shes not then its like... no harm done...? not much to say here other than that i do love tht everyone indulges him. thats like the big thing abt the game for me. the banter is sooo good, they playfully rib each other like friends do but u can tell they genuinely care abt each other just from the way theyre willing to go along w each others weird habits or unfamiliar culture stuff. so from that angle i rly like how they did drax, and his talk w peter in knowhere... ToT a problem w drax is also that i think too many things treat him as a joke to be laughed at for being weird and the game neatly sidesteps that by giving u both but making it clear that hes still a character w depth.
i have no big thoughts on rocket honestly aside from that i dont like the little goatee thing bt im also not a huge rocket fan so my opinion is worth little here lol. i liked him. fr me my big rocket things r like. his relationship w peter and groot and i loved both of those so i have zero complaints. the ongoing 'my ship' thing w peter was so well done compared to when its done in the comics LOL.
groot i just liked a lot its also my fav version of groot i think cz its so obvious how kind and sweet he is. bt so much of groot is like. dependent on rocket to help translate. that SAIDDD i love the convo sm later on when rocket+groot+mantis were all talking together and peter had no idea wht they were laughing at. wish there was a lil more of that bt theres soooooo much dialogue in the game already tht asking for more is so unfair. bt more mantis+groot would be cute. my fav groot is the one whos sooooo sweet bt also says slurs and has rocket being like YOU CANT BE SAYING THAT BUDDY. anyway ik a big part of him is also in the voice acting cz its like the Tone of how he says stuff since u cant understand him and i think the voice actor did soooo good at that. and then the little bits of physical acting too like when hes messing w the controls. i cant say too much coz u havent finished it yet ToT
gamora is where i have some issues bt its mostly coz im married to her old look+personality and dont like the newer depictions as much. in the game she comes off as rly young esp w the dyed hair and it doesnt rly fit my own view of her? as a more mature woman. one tht knows how to have fun and has a confidence tht comes with experience and doesnt rly get embarrassed abt herself or anything. so this gamora is just. different. i dont think its bad bt it doesnt mesh w my own view i guess. despite not being a huge gamora fan i have a lot of thoughts abt her esp w the way it crosses over w the magus stuff. shes a very inch resting char... i wanted to do my own outfit design fr her too bt never got around to it... coz thats my other gripe w game gamora. her outfit is so boring... ik its based on a comic look cz i read that run but i didnt like it there either. i feel like they can never decide on a good look for her at all. they either want her sexed up or not at all to the point that the outfits lose all sense of personality or flair and are just. overly practical and boring. which doesnt fit the her thats confident and likes playing w ppl. so yea. shrug on that one. as an isolated thing i like her but compared to everything else shes ever been, not so much. basically.
i actually wrote the rest of this totally forgetting to talk abt peter. i dont know what to say. abt myself for that. peter quill. i like him. u may have noticed i draw him in his game outfit like a Lot and its bcoz i ADOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it. SOOOO CUTE. i also like his game guns the best! the white+grey+pink just looks soooo good. hes soooo sillycute in the game i luv himmmmmmmm. bt honestly game peter is a lot like other interpretations of him! not a whole lot to say. peter kind of has a pretty locked in characterisation by now right. this is still one of my absolute fav versions tho in design and personality. i think hes had better hair bt the outfit. chef kiss. and im always a sucker for a more immature peter, like the cartoon version too tho that can take it a little too far sometimes bt it meshes well w the baby adam so idm too much bt thats a whole tangent again. peter is good coz hes stupid immature loser idiot but he Cares so genuinely and so much and always tries to do the right thing and it rly rly rly rly shows in this. even when he knows he cant rly affect much or do a whole lot. its abt the Trying. i cant say more coz of spoilers but my god does it show. they did him well. ALSO THE GAME VERSION OF HIS MUM IS BAR NONE THE BEST EVER THEY WILL NEVER TOP THAT VERSION OF HER SHES SO CUTE
man adam is obvi what i wanna talk abt but u havent finished the game... since im putting this under a readmore im just gonna go ahead and say SPOILERS AHEAD!!! OK!! DONT SPOIL URSELF!!! GAMES REALLY GOOD!!!
HERES ARTEMY BURAKH AS A BREAK

ADAM WARLOCK GUY OF ALL TIME I LOVE YOU. ONE OF MY FAV INTERPRETATIONS OF MAGUS. WE'RE IN THE FUCKING MONEY.
this version of adam is interesting cz hes not usually depicted as like. old and tired already. since he comes out of his cocoon all shiny new. which i love. btw. i cannot lie to u i Love the versions where hes a baby or just forgets everything and has to relearn, its rly endearing. i wish more stuff Did something with it other than the cartoon. bt anyway. tangent.
i love his cocoon in the game i wish u got to see the inside better lol. its like a little house... and so goopy... its just funny cz the game version seems truer to the comics than any other interpretation of him. bt it also feels so different? i like it a lot either way bt its Interesting to me. and im not sure how to word why. in fact i am not sure what else to add hdsfjknsd. other than that i actually dont like his outfit just coz its the same problem as the mcu one as well where its too overly complex and a muddy mess of colours. the game outfit is WAY better than whatever tf the mcu did but its still like. the same concept. too much detail and not enough broad strokes? idk how to word it. like if u take out the tiny details its just sort of. nothingburger. also no lightning symbol stuff anywhere :(
bt ya i love the way he talks and i love what little stuff he got with peter and god i wish there was MORE its so unfair that whenever adam gets to be in gotg stuff hes always just there at the end and never gets to BE with the guardians outside of gotg v2/2008 comic. and the cartoon. bt even then. and it sucks that we wont get a sequel coz that studio is in hell rn! smiles painfully. i wanted to see him bicker abt nothing w peter more... or how theyd actually become friends...
bt the most i have to say here is obvi abt magus and magus+warlock as a duo. which isssss that ok so i have a Thing where i dont generally rly like magus as an actual alt personality? i like it when hes future adam. coz thats The Point. that adam can be the warlock or the magus and all that changes is a. an internal philosophy. or a worldview. they ARE the same person. theyre not separate people. bt if its done well and theyre still intertwined enough i think i can like it the other way too? coz the point is that they could be each other, right. so warlock has the capacity for everything the magus does. the magus has the capacity for everything the warlock does. there isnt a major dividing line between them. i like how the game does it literally because of the ONE bit adam has where he admits that he misses magus. doesnt feel complete or right without it being there. after peter says 'well ur mostly fine without magus now right and u were with it for ages' and adam basically says 'well i feel empty inside and like im missing something huge and i miss it being there but yeah i guess im "mostly fine"'. i WISH we saw warlock+magus interacting properly, like wht is the actual nature of their relationship. they rly dont go into that stuff at all. so i cant rly say much aside from like 'what ifs' and stuff, u know. i wish we saw more... sigh. but i adore magus' design in it and how they tie it to adams original motifs of. well. metamorphosis. adam is a moth caterpillar. so i love that they make magus look like one too! fluffy fuzzy little caterpillar. and just like a caterpillar, its always hungry. and u cannot blame a caterpillar for being hungry, its trying to grow. bah. tangent. bt who cares. i wanted that. an adam that didnt Hate magus, knows it had to be controlled and kept in line bt not one that hated it. if adam missed it, then they mustve had Some kind of relationship. almost all of magus' problems come from wanting recognition and to exist on its own and i think the game had a setup that couldve allowed for that eventually... i want an adam that understands tht magus is a necessary evil and they can work together. "where else could i go, who else could i love but you?" - line that infects anyone who does the dark knight quests in ffxiv but a lot of ppl ignore the fact that this is specifically talking abt another aspect of urself. its abt self love. i want that for warlock and magus. warlock hates himself soooo much and he hates all of his selves and everything he used to be, bt that makes him so unhappy. he needs to learn to accept himself. and magus is a literal representation of all those things. sitting there WANTING to be loved. sigh. thats a big tangent and i have actual comic stuff in case anyone wants proof and u know what why am i stopping myself. here they are
(from captain marvel v4 i think? v4 or 5 but im pretty sure it was 4)
i have nothing but bad things to say abt the fact that he was in these comics at all but this panel is good. speaks for itself. resentment at being hated for being how he was created to be. and u know what it is fucking unfair and i relate. sorry ill be saying that a lot. magus is right. everyone kill themselves and make me feel better. anywayyy

(from gotg v5)
this one could be up for debate on whether reborn magus is the 'same' as the old one but has warlock ever had that concession? not rly so i dont wanna say its different here either. this is a nature vs nurture thing that i also have some shit to say abt bt if im allowing myself ONE huge tangent here i wont go off on another one in the middle of it. actually fuck that i do what i want. and its relevant. coz there is one difference. and thats the actual original magus from the warlock comics by starlin, so actual future self adam. and then the one that spawned when warlock had the infinity gauntlet and he expelled all good and evil from himself, which is when magus became a separate entity entirely. bt also the thing in gotg v2 where he uses a discarded alt timeline that wasnt meant to happen and THAT was the one where he turns into magus so technically the reborn magus is made from the real first one that got deleted?? man idfk. i think there is a degree of separation from the two just coz its like. i dont think we know if the expelled magus experienced w. ok. im gonna call them magus1 (future adam) and magus2 (expelled evil) ok. we dont know if magus2 has the memories of magus1 or any of the actual lived experience because warlock of the main timeline DID NOT turn into magus. magus1 isnt from 616 or whatever. hes an alt version. magus2 should technically be the 616 version. i think. so magus2 could have been that mad simply out of principle of it, which is based and true and totally fair. anyway tangent over sorta. reborn child magus is magus3 and idfk which magus hes technically reincarnating from, probably magus1 since its the timeline that was destroyed tht adam brought back. REGARDLESS. WE'RE GETTING DEEP INTO THE WEEDS HERE.
SIGH i have so much to say abt gotgv5 and. magus3. lol. reborn magus. bt i wont do it here ive dragged this on way too far and we're not even close to being on topic so ill return to tangent 1.

(also from gotg v5)
loved this one cz its so clear abt it. at the core of adam is this desire to not be alone. every aspect of himself deals w it differently (amassing worshippers. usually. which is ironic because it doesnt rly fix the core issue. ppl can worship u but ull still be alone. very familiar w this sort of feeling myself.) bt warlock himself always isolates and hates himself and is miserable. he NEEDS the guardians.

(from gotg v2)
obviously yes it would be the biggest ego boost ever bt to me it still reeks of 'i dont want to be alone. i want my friends with me here too'. since phylla is the avatar of death, his entire purpose shouldve been to kill her. the ideal deathless world cant exist w her there.
(from uhhh fuck infinity wars iirc. yea.)
ok this ones just funny. but also the fact tht he made a copy of thanos to hang out with/serve him is even funnier and also AGAIN. the way it never lets itself be alone. always either coercing or forcing or creating versions of ppl he knows to be with him.
so yeah. thats my evidence for what is. idk if im reading too hard or if it was intentional ig. bt thats how i see it. so thats why i want magus+warlock to be on ok terms w each other in at least ONE thing. and the game seems perfect for it to eventually happen bt unforch its super unlikely it will get a sequel.
anyway. i also love that it talks in rhymes cz one of my fav things abt magus is how whimsy silly it is. topsy turvy fun. it fits so well. and esp since warlock uses a ton of alliteration and its a contrast between them. bt anyway. man.
ummm. as for the other chars? no strong feelings. lol. im REALLY glad they didnt make peter nikkis actual dad tho. lol @ most of this not even being abt the game. i have worms in my head and theyre shaped like this

also that is what i look like irl

I found your twilight post with the Lin Kuei brothers amusing and relatable 🤣
Can you do headcannons on watching marvel movies with the reader? Captain America is my favorite character in the movies lol
The MCU is huge so lmk if there was something specific you wanted to know about
Bi-Han
I don’t see any of them watching a lot of movies so you definitely introduced it to him
He takes the longest time to finish the movies because it’s not on the top of his list when it comes to concerns
He’s one of those overly critical watchers so he’s annoying as fuck to watch movies with
I can see him liking Ultron
Why? I think he’d like the concept of Ultron and understand why he’s thinking the way he is
The type to agree with Thanos until someone points out he could’ve just doubled the resources
His favorite Phase is Phase 3 purely because Hela is his favorite character in the entire MCU
He’s legit upset she was killed off
I’d say which show is his favorite but I only watched Wandavision and TFATWS so moving on-
I don’t know if I see him reading the comics. Maybe if he’s curious enough
The Avengers and The Guardians of The Galaxy are pinned against each other a lot, but what does he think?
I think it changes a lot. Depends on his mood
One thing’s for sure; he prefers the OG Avengers
Not one of those Marvel fans that remembers everything and he doesn’t really stay up to date
Hasn’t even watched any of the shows yet
Please bring Hela back and stop pissing him off. She ain’t do nothing wrong
Quick afterthought
He’s Team Cap
He don’t even wanna listen to Liu Kang. Why the fuck would he agree with the government controlling The Avengers?
Kuai Liang
NOT one of the overly critical watchers so thank fuck
If he spots something that’s off, he’ll call it out but that’s as bad as it gets
He likes a mix of villains and heroes
If the villains got a point, then they got a point. That’s just how it is.
He likes villains that can become better people. The pure evils ones he’s like “yeah you suck” but villains that are actually victims or who have done certain things but try to become better, he likes
Because of that I’d say his favorite villain is The Winter Soldier
He’s done terrible things but Kuai Liang feels pity for him and enjoys his story
I think either Avengers or Civil War is his favorite movie
He prefers the og era of the MCU and I think the Avengers as a whole reminds him of his family (petty as fuck towards each other but there’s ultimately love there) and Civil War was a banger
A situation where there’s technically not a right side is a topic I can see him liking
With that being said, he is both Team Cap and Team Ironman
Since he follows Liu Kang I can see him being like “sometimes teams need to be reined in and need someone to follow”
But in the same breath this is the same government that is corrupt and has proven themselves as not trustworthy
And people could always die before the heroes are able to help
Then there’s Bucky and he once again understands why Steve wouldn’t tell but he also understands Tony’s anger
He stays somewhat up to date when it comes to the new movies and shows
He knows when they come out but he doesn’t see them right away
Tomas
I can see him staying up to date and seeing the movies whenever he could
Has possibly read some comics too?
Prefers Heroes
Do I wanna say his favorite character is Spider-Man because the PS5 Spider-Man voices Tomas?
Yes
So that’s what imma do
Does he have a favorite Spider-Man?
I’m not sure. I can see him seeing the positives and negatives of all the Spidermen
Team Cap for the accords
Team Ironman for the Bucky situation
His parents were killed so are we surprised? No
The type to see the positives of Phase 4 instead of just saying it’s shit
Is it the best? No. But it’s not all ass. Damn.
He prefers the Guardians so when Gamora was killed, his heart was in SHAMBLES
“Maybe Gamora and Peter can fall in love again”
I have bad news
Favorite Phase is always changing. Each Phase has bangers and non bangers so it changes day to day
I know I said he loved all the Spidermen but his favorite movie is probably a Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie
Do not tell him the Avengers are more like coworkers than family. Do not fuck up his day
He likes found family movies so he enjoys the movies that focus on the groups

Hello again, I have another request. This one is about the Ant Man and the Wasp. In this query, Buddy is Scott and Hope's daughter. At first, when Buddy was still very young, she was no different from other kids. And everything seems to be fine, but somewhere from the age of five, it becomes clear that the reader is a complete copy of her grandfather Hank Pym, that is: she is incredibly smart, she loves ants, quantum physics (she can talk about these topics for hours), she also has problems controlling anger (she hit a guy in the face at school for saying that ant-man sucks), thinks that there is no one smarter than her and her grandfather, and she also transferred his sarcastic communication style and views on things and people around, for example, when she first met Tony, she said: “You can never trust Stark.” And don't get me wrong, she has a soft side, but it's only available to her family and very very close friends. And I have one more special request for this request: Please ignore Quantumania completely because even I, being a huge fan of ant-man, dislike this movie very much. And especially what they did to Cassie. In this film, she became rude, smug, mean, disrespectful to her father Scott. So please ignore this movie whenever possible. And I'm sorry if the text is a little crumpled.
Finally! I got to this one before is erased!
Hope you enjoy!
Scott and Hope Pym's 5 year old daughter
SFW, Platonic, Familial, Human reader
MCU
It had just been a week since Scott had proposed to her and now they were finding out she was pregnant.
Bit of an oops on their part, but the news was welcomed with open arms.
Scott and Hope are in front of Janet, Hank and Cassie. Hank: “Well? Why are we here.” Cassie: “Grampa, don’t be mean.” Janet chuckles a bit at Hank’s demeanor changing with his granddaughter. Scott grabs Hope’s hand. Scott: “Cassie, how do you feel about being a big sister?” All three people pause before Cassie stands up screaming and runs to Hope, hugging her. Cassie: “OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! I’M GONNA BE A BIG SISITER!!! THANK YOU HOPE! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!” Janet smiles and hugs her back. Janet unfreezes as she also goes over to Hope to hug her. Janet: “Oh sweetie this is great news!” Scott: “Well, that was—” FWOOSH! BAM! Scott was now underneath a VERY large ant. Scott: “Antony!” Hope: “Dad!” Hank gives Scott a slight glare before going over to congratulate Hope.
Given the initial surprise, everyone takes the news well.
Hank immediately starts busting out Hope’s old baby things and whipping up his machines to make better cribs and baby cameras.
He is going to make sure the newest family member is safe in this house.
Janet helps her daughter to learn what to do when the baby starts to come.
Cassie is practicing how to be a big sister with her stuffed animals and with Anthony when he’s big.
Said ant is in heaven with all the swaddling, feeding and affection.
Scott is right behind Hope, acting like a second shadow.
Makes sure she goes to all her appointments and is almost at her beck and call when it comes to the swelling, cravings and self-esteem issues that arise with her first pregnancy.
Soon enough the happy pair announce the rest of their friends about the pregnancy after the wedding takes place.
Scott swears he saw Sam and Bucky exchanging money at one point.
AS Hope continues her pregnancy, Scott is very much hovering over her and almost begging her to take a break or take the leave already.
He is just scared that his wife is going to give birth on the field.
Hope laughs a bit at this reassuring him that she isn’t…
…
The Avengers are on the Helicarrier heading back to HQ. Hope suddenly stops and feels a contraction. Natasha and Wanda notice. Wanda: “Hope? Are you okay?” Hope I’m okay—” SPLOOSH! All three women look down slowly at the sudden puddle under Hope’s feet. Hope, Natasha, and Wanda: “…Fu—” Scott at the other side of the carrier. Scott: “…Something just happened.” Sam: “What are you talking about Tic Tac?” Scott: “I don’t know how to explain it, but something defiantly just happened.” Bucky and Steve give him a confused look. Peter comes in running and is a bit out of breath. Peter: “MS. HOPE’S WATER JUST BROKE!”
Scott to this day still holds this moment over Hope’s head as an ‘I told you so’ moment.
Thankfully the labor and delivery goes without a hitch.
Enter Scott and Hope’s daughter, Buddy.
The trio are sent home after making sure Hope was okay.
Hank nearly passes out seeing the baby while Janet and Cassie push him out of the way to see them.
Cassie is so happy to meet her new little sister and stays glued by her parent’s side whenever Buddy is with them.
Janet makes it a habit to take care of Buddy when Hope or Scott look particularly overstimulated.
Hank… Hank really doesn’t do too much besides building better baby equipment and occasionally read a bedtime story to Buddy.
Its not like he doesn’t like the kid, its just that he has a bit of trouble connecting to the kid.
He eventually stops reading her the ‘dumb’ baby books and starts reading her some of his own works and showing her some of his inventions.
Hank will never admit how much joy he gets out of seeing his youngest Grandchild’s eyes light up.
Hank is showing Antony to a 3-year-old Buddy. Buddy slightly hides behind her grandpa’s leg. Hank: “His not going to bite you Buddy, he just wants to get to know you.” Buddy looks at him before slowly approaching the large ant. Antony lets Buddy pat his head. Buddy smiles. Buddy: “I’m just like you Grandpa!” Hank pats Buddy’s head. Hank: “Yeah, yeah kiddo.” Buddy: “I’m going to be just like you when I grow up!”
Hank did not take Buddy’s words seriously, figuring out it was a little comment.
It wasn’t until Buddy was 5 that the family started to notice how much Buddy was starting to act like Hank.
It first started with the sarcastic and bold comments.
Scott is trying to get Buddy to finish her dinner. Scott: “C’mon Buddy, just finish the plate and then you’ll have your desert.” Buddy: “Yes, because Mom’s cake is to die for.” Scott is about to reply when he stops. The burning smell of the ‘cake’ still lingered in the kitchen. Scott: “Are—are you—did you just—” Buddy pushes the plate and walks away. Scott blinks twice before standing up. Scott: “Buddy!”
Then it was the quantum physics book the parents found in her book shelf.
And then the ant books…
And the sudden anger flares.
One day during a parent teacher conference. Teacher: “Thank you for joining us today, Ms. And Mr. Pym.” Hope and Scott are sitting in front of the teacher. Teacher: “Buddy has displayed… a bit of anger issues when it comes to some of her peers.” Scott: “Like what?” Teacher: “Just the other day she pushed a boy into an ant pile.” Hope: “She did what!” Scott places a hand on Hope’s hand. Scott: “But why? Did he do something?” Teacher: “According to some of the other children and some of the patrol teachers, the boy was talking about how useless ant were. Then apparently she pushed him into an ant hill.” Hope: “We will talk to her when we get home.” Meanwhile at home… Hank is sharing a pint of ice cream with Buddy and some of the ants. Hank: “Remember what we said Buddy.” Buddy: “Never trust a Stark?” Hank: “No the other thing.” Buddy: “Don’t tell Grandma and Mommy?” Hank ruffles Buddy’s head giving her a bigger scoop of ice cream. Hank: “Exactly.”

this isn’t really an ask it’s just something i’ve been thinking about and feel the need to say. so, basically, i’m a HUGE black widow fan, and i’ve read pretty much all of her solo comics, so i feel very protective over her. i really loved the way GT started, and i really don’t mind having natasha be a sort of antagonist in gracie’s story, because i DO understand. it makes sense than natasha doesn’t have the bandwidth nor the mental soundness, especially considering that in the mcu timeline she would have taken gracie in as her child pretty early in her career with shield, to take care of such a young and sensitive child. so i do understand how their relationship SHOULD be rocky and imperfect and painful on both of their ends. HOWEVER, i see a lot of people, including yourself, saying that the way natasha treats gracie in GT is a reflection of her comic counterpart, and i just don’t agree. sure, natasha in the comics is damaged and traumatized and vengeful, violent in many ways, it’s fair to say she’s morally gray but i do not agree at all that’s it’s fair to think that she’s be so blatantly cruel at times. sure, she can’t raise gracie as she needs to be raised, she’s got a lot on her plate and a lot going on inside of herself, so i can see natasha’s personal problems would bleed into gracie, and leave her with lifelong wounds, but to think that she wouldn’t have any good intentions taking gracie in seems sort of.. i don’t know, impossible to me. natasha saw that nobody was there for gracie, and—on top of trying to CARVE out a place for herself in the ranks of male-dominated shield—tried to help the little girl who she probably saw so much of yelena in. of course, it makes perfect sense that she would resent gracie and have a lot of mental turmoil surrounding having to parent her, but it’s still a decision she, herself made. i’m just saying that id really love to see their relationship be painted as less black-and-white, natasha can cause gracie trauma and be a major antagonistic figure in her life without being a bad person, without having evil intentions, or thinking of gracie as solely her possession. truly, i don’t think that thing you talk about a lot, how natasha thinks of gracie as something she OWNS, something that is hers, while that is such an interesting trope, is in-character for natasha, nor something she’s capable of. natasha romanoff is hurt and she’s got a dark side, but just like frank castle, i don’t think that means she would inflict such blatant cruelty onto a little girl. i really hope this doesn’t come across as mean, and i love your writing, i just felt like i had to share how i feel about it it.
hello!!
as someone who can get super frustrated over mischaracterization, i can see where you're coming from on this!! ik that when you're very attached to a character, it kinda sucks when you feel like people misrepresent them. however, i think it's a little different when it comes to fanfiction.
while i do often describe gt!nat is resembling comic!nat, i'm realising now that that might not have been quite the right choice of words?? because gt!nat isn't supposed to be a direct reflection of comic!nat!! or mcu!nat, or any other nats at all!! try and think of her as some sort of frankenstein's monster natasha, where i've taken bits and pieces from different versions and stitched them together. while she does often seem out of character, i guess that's because she's never really in character, if that makes sense?? she's become her own division of natasha for me at this point, who just happens to have some comic-like qualities.
i do understand your frustration, though. up until super recently, i took mischaracterization very seriously and it made me mad, but i've tried to change my mindset on that. in fanfiction, every character -- even the canon ones -- is always going to be a touch different from their official selves, but that is ok!! that is good!! fanfiction is a creative outlet and people deserve to be able to express themselves through characters how they want. recent-past-adri should also acknowledge that.
however!! this has been very helpful, actually, as it's now let me know to stop referring to gt!nat as a depiction of comic!nat, so thank you!! i would just like to say that i will not be changing gt!nat, though. i really like how i write gt, especially gracie and nat's dynamic, and at the end of the day, it is my fic that i write for my hobby. i completely see that your intentions weren't to be rude, btw!! but everything i do is both for fun and for free, and a lot of fic writers don't really want constructive criticism unless they ask for it primarily for these reasons. there are a lot of other fics out there that are probably more comic!nat-coded than gt -- though i do apologise for the false advertising!! -- so if you're not really a fan of gt!nat, those would probably be more up your street!!
have a good day :))

In which all of the comics fans who spent this whole episode going “Heal her, dummy! Heal her!” are finally rewarded! What a great reveal this is. I mentioned in an earlier post that this season did not dig very deep into the Iron Fist power-set, but it did give us two key components: the punching and the healing, and since the healing is much less famous than the punching, it was hugely exciting to see it spotlighted in this climactic moment.
In the comics, pre-Immortal Iron Fist Danny was, relatively speaking, an untrained Iron Fist-- which is to say that he didn’t know about a lot of the things that the chi of Shou-Lao could do. This wasn’t really his fault, as his predecessor, Orson Randall (who we will get to next episode!) took with him the source of that knowledge, the Book of the Iron Fist, when he ran away from K’un-Lun. Both 616 and MCU Danny are forced to learn a lot of the business of being the Iron Fist through lived experience, trial-and-error, and sometimes just by accident.
The circumstances in which Danny discovers his healing powers in the comics are different than in the MCU, but equally desperate: he gets caught in a collapsing building and finds himself trapped in the rubble, dying from his injuries. On the edge of unconsciousness and hallucinating, he receives some vital information from the image of his uncle, Nu-An, the Yu-Ti of K’un-Lun:
Nu-An: “Save yourself, young dragon!” Danny: “H-how?!” Nu-An: “The power lies within you, as it always has, nephew. The legacy of Shao-Lao can heal as well as kill... The Iron Fist is not a weapon--it is a force of will...and used properly, it can accomplish...miracles.” Iron Fist vol. 1 #4 by Chris Claremont, John Byrne, Janice Cohen, Frank Chiaramonte, and John Costanza
Danny’s first healing experience is extremely painful and exhausting, but it works. He survives. Over time, he grows more comfortable with using the dragon chi in this way, and after his power-up in Immortal Iron Fist he is able to do so casually, whenever he needs to, for both himself and others.

Lei Kung: “Daniel?” Danny: “Hunh...I healed without even thinking of it. And I don’t feel drained at all.” Immortal Iron Fist #8 by Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction, David Aja, and Matt Hollingsworth
Danny: “Your doctors did most of the hard work weeks ago... All I’m doing...is focusing your chi a bit...” Dakota: “...Whoa...” Danny: “...To speed up your natural healing process.” Daredevil vol. 2 #111 by Ed Brubaker, Clay Mann, Matt Hollingsworth, Stefano Gaudiano, and Chris Eliopoulos
MCU Danny is at much the same state of training as pre-Immortal Iron Fist 616 Danny, and I love that his effort at healing Colleen is clearly painful for both of them, reflecting that early power level and lack of experience. And the fact that Danny just passes the heck out afterward and is unconscious for the rest of the episode means a lot to me.
(There is a great issue of Heroes for Hire volume 1 in which a desperate, pre-Immortal power-level Danny heals Luke from life-threatening injuries and nearly kills himself in the process. Obviously, this is not on the same level as that, but it has a similar flavor.)
While this is all very exciting for geeky reasons, it is also a major plot point. After being teased as Colleen’s mysterious sensei earlier in the season, here Bakuto swoops in to save the day...much to the annoyance of Madame Gao, who is pissed that he’s muscling in on her Iron Fist manipulation efforts. And not only does Bakuto help, he knows about the Iron Fist-- including details that even Danny doesn’t know. That is hugely significant, a mystery that leads us directly into the next episode...
[I’ve been going through and providing in-depth commentary on Iron Fist season 1. Look here for all of the posts so far!]
#MCU#Netflix Iron Fist#Iron Fist#Danny Rand#Netflix IF Analysis#Back at it! I really enjoy writing these and revisiting the season so I'm happy to take it really slow.#At this rate I'll be finished just in time for Season 3.

loki season two is starting to be promoted and here’s your reminder NOT to watch it
the loki show did damage to not only loki’s character as a whole, but to bisexual and genderfluid people as well.
for years, loki has been a comic character that is well known for their bisexuality and genderfluidity. a huge component to this was the ‘loki: agent of asgard’ series written by al ewing (a personal favorite of mine). many queer people opened up their arms to welcome this representation. had i known i was bisexual at the time that mcu loki was my favorite character ever, i just know i would’ve been ecstatic, which i was when the first looks at season one came out.
the first red flag should’ve been when it was revealed that in loki’s tva files, his sex was labeled as “fluid” when it’s actually his gender. i remember people being skeptical and wary about it but continued to hope for the representation that the cast promised in interviews beforehand. (if anyone is able to find which interview this was in, please let me know so i could link it.)
then as the series went on for the next six weeks, hopes of there being representation dwindled. there was the line of “a bit of both” when sylvie asked if loki courted princes or princesses and he assumed it was the same for sylvie, which was SOMETHING at the time! people were happy… for the first few days or so. we quickly realized that this was probably disney’s way of telling but never showing considering their infamous prejudice against lgbt+ rep. it was quite literally the bare minimum — a throwaway line so to say that could easily be forgotten by the average viewer. i recall that lots of people were huge shippers of loki x mobius and thought that maybe, just MAYBE, there would be something more explicitly romantic between them and hey, maybe there will be in season two! but it’s disney. you can understand that there’s not a whole lot of hope.
then comes loki’s genderfluidity. to start off, the whole existence of sylvie is the most damaging. in agent of asgard, loki has confirmed that no matter how she presents, she is always loki. there’s no “female/lady loki”, it’s all JUST loki. so to change up loki’s name, bleach her hair, and contradict whether or not she IS actually loki throughout the show is… questionable.
the line of “have you ever met a woman variant?” was just insane writing. all lokis can identify/present as women if they please!!! their shapeshifting abilities give them an advantage of presentation being easy for them, but all in all, every single loki can canonically identify as a woman. when that line was delivered, all the other loki variants looked confused as if they didn’t know. loki’s genderfluidity was never at the forefront of the writers’ minds, writers that were caught to be fucking weirdos on twitter! you can find what old tweets i’m talking about on twitter… but i digress. why would the loki variants not know such an integral part of their identity?
and the KISS. THE FUCKING KISS. we’re not angry that loki kissed a female-presenting character instead of mobius like many wished, no no no that’s not the big issue because bisexuals should never have to prove their bisexuality to anyone and they can kiss whoever the hell they want. we’re angry because loki kissed a female-presenting variant of HIMSELF. all throughout the first season, the writers went out of their way to try to differentiate sylvie from loki despite sylvie having been born as a loki variant, but there’s literally no way to separate sylvie from their lineage because at the end of the day, that’s who she was born as. no amount of bleach will change that fact. (i hope i made this easy to understand; not a lot of people get why this is an issue.) and regardless of whether or not that kiss was romantic, the fact that it even HAPPENED was a slap in the face to genderfluid fans of loki, and if the leaks for season two are right, that whole thing between the two will be continued since most of the season one writers worked on season two as well.
on top of this awful rep, known abuser jonathan majors will be in season two as another kang variant. i’ve heard that marvel had bigger plans for him, but due to these allegations, they’re limiting his presence as seen in the trailer, obviously meaning that they know.
hence why i ask fans to boycott/simply not tune in for season two if you care about queer people. if you’re desperate to watch, at least don’t use disney+. just because s2d is gone doesn’t mean other websites don’t exist. i also recommend reading ‘agent of asgard’. if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask me and please be respectful; your feelings about the show don’t dictate how hundreds of others feel, especially if their concerns are valid.

Oh how I wish I had it in me to be excited for Avengers: Doomsday. Once upon a time this would have been all I could have thought about. I at least have been able to reclaim SOME of my old excitement for Marvel projects thanks to Fantastic Four, and I look forward to getting to the new Cap at some point (and probably Thunderbolts just because Bucky), but by and large I’m still so burned out. It’s hard to be hyped about yet another massive team-up movie with massive stakes and the world’s biggest cast that you can hardly keep track of, even if some of them are X-Men (James Marsden, I miss you!).
And despite my knee-jerk excitement back at the original announcement at the idea of RDJ coming back, that’s not ultimately who I want as Doom, so it does feel a bit like being robbed yet again of a proper live action version of him (not you, 1994 Doom, your only flaw is being permanently unreleased). Between casting decisions like that that I don’t know how to feel about and just way too many cooks in the kitchen and the general overall state of the MCU and my relationship with it, I just… I don’t know.
I’m also just so, so very ready for certain characters to be retired from the franchise. Thor has long been unrecognizable to me and I’m tired of him STILL popping up everywhere. As for Loki… I hate to say it but I wish more and more all the time that they had just let him die in Dark World. Maybe that wouldn’t change what we currently have, since this is a Loki from a pre-TDW timeline and they potentially could have done the Endgame-offshoot-Loki anyway, but I think with enough years between TDW and the birth of the MCU streaming shows, there wouldn’t necessarily have been any idea of using him for anything again beyond the Endgame cameo. I wish I lived in that world instead of the one where I see my favorite Marvel character get repeatedly massacred like his brother before him. It truly still feels like watching completely unfamiliar people possess their bodies and ruin their reputations and characterizations while parading around in their corpses. I never thought this would happen but I felt genuine dread when seeing the Doomsday cast announcements and realizing that Tom’s name was there. I hate that I could ever feel anything but happiness to see his name in the cast list but here we are. I wish they would just let Thor and Loki either die or just never come back, with or without explanation. It feels like they’ve been reduced to mere puppets and that the kindest thing would be to just set them free by putting them down. They do not still need to be here.
Other than the dread of what else they’re going to do to those two in particular (and anyone else they might suddenly mess with, because after all, it was sudden for them, too), I kinda just feel… nothing. If you told the me of 10 years ago that I would feel absolutely nothing about a super cool, huge Marvel team-up movie, or that there are several projects that I either haven’t gotten to yet because I haven’t cared enough to prioritize them or outright do not ever want to watch them at all, I would not have believed you. It’s insane what can change without warning. I really do love and miss Marvel, just not the Marvel it’s become, especially as a fan of specific characters whose fans it seems they’re determined to keep spitting in the faces of. It’s nice at least to finally be looking forward to SOMEthing again in the form of Fantastic Four (and the new Daredevil series, but I never did finish the Netflix shows, so that’s waaay on the back burner for now), I just wish it extended to the franchise as a whole. I wish I weren’t so tired.

Stargate rewatch: 1x19 There But For The Grace of God
One of my favourite episodes titles of the series, also kicking off what is essentially a four episode arc to end season 1 and kick off season 2. 90’s tv was the eternal battle between episodic and arc-based storytelling, and I actually think the show threaded the needle quite well.
I do love an alternative universe episode, back in the beforetimes when a multiverse served a story purpose and not just a fodder for fanservice of the “your favourite character, and they’ve got a new hat!” variety.
The story credit for this episode is David Kemper, an Executive Producer for Farscape, but this is his only Stargate contribution. Robert C Cooper wrote the teleplay, and the episode was directed by David Warry-Smith, his first of 11 for the show.
Love that they brought back Catherine, Elizabeth Hoffman is great (RIP). Given that Jack is a general in this timeline, perhaps we can assume he kept her on the project as opposed to the main timeline’s General West shutting things down/sidelining her after Abydos?
But Jack still went on the Abydos (suicide) mission so presumably wasn’t a general at that time. I know we have to be la la la don’t think about it with the alternate timelines but I’m so curious how things went down in this universe!
How long did it take them to work out how to use the gate without Daniel’s help? I guess they couldn’t communicate with the Abydonians without Daniel but they still were able to kill Ra - how? If they never went to Chulak what triggered Apophis’s interest in them to mount an attack on Earth? Why is the attack in this universe before the attack in the prime universe when really the events should be delayed in the AU?
This is a decent wig for Sam. Sadly, the only decent wig she’ll get the entire series.
I also wonder what was the difference in this universe so Sam didn’t join the Airforce.
Daniel guilelessly giving the address for Chulak right after taking about Jack intending to blow up Abydos. He’s so used to his Jack whose come so far since then, never even thinking that alt!Jack may not have, and what they might want the coordinates for.
lol, Daniel walks down the stairs, crosses the room, looks at the map, then puts on his glasses.
“Every one of those red dots is a destroyed city.” Apophis a fan of the United Celtic Nations it seems.
Daniel finally twigs that he might be in an alternate reality (with Sam defining it for him), but we can’t be too harsh, he canonically has zero pop culture game and this was the 90’s. Even in todays over-saturation of multiverse content Daniel would probably still have no clue.
They made a decent attempt at Spader!Daniel with this pic!
Daniel and being dead/missing in alternate realities/timelines, name a better duo.
It is interesting that in a lot of the AUs the show explores, Daniel’s lack of involvement in the Stargate program coincides with that universe being doomed.
I forgot that the 38 minute gate window was first established in this episode! That’s a huge piece of lore originating in an alternate universe.
It wouldn’t be an alternate universe without at least one character with silly hair.
Generally I prefer AUs that explore character rather than ones used to advance plot (or are lazy fanservice looking at you mcu), and while the primary purpose of this episode is to give Daniel forewarning of the Goa’uld attack and the gate address to the source, there is some nice stuff here especially around Jack and Teal’c.
Because at their core alt!Jack and alt!Teal’c are still the same - Teal’c still hates the Goa’uld, Jack is still willing to take big risks on his instincts, and there’s a mirror to Children of the Gods where Jack reaches out to Teal’c, but it’s a dark mirror, and it’s the little differences that matter because Jack isn’t the same person as the one in CotG, who went through the Abydos mission with Daniel and came out a better person, instead he’s the one that sent the bomb that killed Teal’c’s family, and it dooms them both.
Opening credits shot!
“I also wish to blow us all to hell.” Alt!Sam is a badass. No difference to prime!Sam there.
There’s also an interesting moment between Teal’c and Daniel in the gateroom - Teal’c doesn’t shoot straight away when he could have, so maybe Jack telling him of the alternate universe where Teal’c was fighting the Goa’uld got through. He still fires as Daniel runs for the gate, but only hits him in the shoulder - at such close range Teal’c could probably have made the kill shot. His hesitation saved Daniel’s life, and ultimately the life of his other self.
Because Daniel’s presence in the other reality changes nothing for it - alt Jack, Sam, Teal’c and Catherine all still die, the Stargate is destroyed and that would have happened anyway (with maybe the exception of Jack being able to stall Teal’c to set the self destruct).
But Daniel’s changed - there but for the grace of god (or fate) go our team.

Who are your top ten favorite Thor characters? Why are they your faves?
Hello 👋🏼😄 and wow what an interesting question! I’m going to based the Thor characters based on the comics and the movies as well!
1. Jane Foster -When I first was in middle school, my school had a book about all the comic heroes and she was on there. And something about her story really stuck with me. I thought “wow this character is so cool! I think she’s my favorite superhero” Then of course I watched Thor and I figured out that Jane Foster was played by none other than the fantastic Natalie Portman who I knew because before being a Marvel fan I was a huge Star Wars fan and I thought Padmé was so cool. And over time as I started watching more movies with Jane and finally last year getting most of the Mighty Thor comics, she is by far my favorite superhero and character in Marvel. She represents what a hero should be in my opinion.
2. Thor - Now when I watched Thor I was really fond of him. I loved how he saved the people of Jane’s town despite knowing them for about a couple days. I really loved MCU Thor mostly. Chris Hensworth did a fantastic job as Thor. No one could have done it better. I love Thors kind and compassionate heart and his need to help others. His backstory as well is so interesting! To this day, Thor remains one me of my favorite Avenger!
3. Darcy - I know she’s not part of the comics but one of the best parts of the first and second Thor movies for me was Darcy’s humor and how sassy she was. And I love how she became a doctor like Jane in Wandavision. Overall she was such a fun and relatable character that kept me laughing!
4. Freya/Frigga - One of the things I loved about reading the Thor comics was whenever Thors mother Freya was on. She is such a fascinating character. She’s intelligent, a good queen and mother and overall a badass! I always loved her relationship with Thor and I feel like we never got enough of that in the Thor franchise. And side note I also loved her friendship with jane and how they are always there for each other! I really wished we had more of Freya in the movies because she’s just so amazing
5. Heimdall - I love Heimdall in the movies and in the comics. I loved the bond that he and Thor shared throughout the movies and comics. And I love how he was sort of like a second father to Thor and Loki. What makes me sad is that both versions end up dying (rip Heimdall) I hope we do see more of him though!
6. Roz Solomon - Roz Solomon is so underrated in the comics! She’s an amazing SHIELD agent who’s such a badass! I loved the relationship she and Jane had especially! It just felt so natural and they greatly respected each other! One of my favorite parts in the comics is when Jane tells her she’s Thor showing how she trusts her and Roz goes “can everyone stop turning into things now” Overall such a sassy, awesome character! I was sad when we didn’t see much of her in the Valkyrie series!
7. Fandral - I remember reading both the comics and watching the first Thor I never really payed attention to the warrior three. But recently I watched the dark world thanks to @beheworthy 😄 and Fandral kept making me laugh the whole time. And I love Zachary Levi too so that made it even better! And then I reread some of my thor comics he was briefly in and he was great in that too. He’s just an overall funny character!
8. Volstagg - Out of all the warriors three, in my opinion, Volstagg had the kindest heart. He would help Jane being senator in the Congress of Worlds as well as just being a good friend! The saddest moment he had is when he picked up the War Hammer and was becoming rage full. It made me so sad that kind Volstagg was the War Thor. And he was great in the movies too! Rest in peace Ray Stevenson
9. Sif - I’ve recently been loving Sif! She’s such an amazing warrior as well as protective of Asgard in the movies and in the comics. I love how in the comics they made her the new gatekeeper to replace heimdall. I thought that greatly suited her. She’s truly a fierce fighter!
10. Valkyrie (Brunhilde) - Valkyrie’s death killed me in war of the realms. I was not expecting her to die so horribly in War of the Realms. I also really enjoyed Valkyrie in the Marvels! She was really funny and her dynamic with Carol was adorable!
Those are all my favorite characters in the Thor franchise. I also decided to make a list of characters I liked the least in the Thor franchise
1. Odin - I HATE HIM SO MUCH! I am not even kidding you I despise Odin I could write a whole essay on why I hate him (perhaps another time) but my blog is an Odin hate blog. He’s at the top of the list for a variety of reasons I won’t list right now.
2. Loki - I’m only putting Loki on here because I love to hate him. Loki was never really one of my favorites when I first became a marvel fan but I just love to hate him. That’s the only reason why im putting him on here.
But thank you so much @zndr315-blog for asking me this! I’ve never really gotten to list my favorite Thor characters so thank you! 😄🙌🏼

Okay I’m sure I’m not the only one who has caught on to this but the MCU has literally shaped modern media. As a huge Marvel fan I think this is so cool-
Like, since NWH and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness how many times have we seen the multiverse in media now? We can trace that back to Into the Spider-Verse too. (Across the Spider-Verse tied it even more together which was epic-)
But also, how many times have you stayed in a movie theater after the credits, when it wasn’t even a Marvel movie? It’s just expected now!
It’s all fabulous, I’m off my soap box.

Confession for Sunday:
Not to be negative, but I can't stand some solo Tom fans on this website and on Twitter being so negative. Twitter, I've not gonna comment on because it's so deranged, so I've left it, but solo Tom blogs on here are so damn negative. I can understand their frustration being a fan of someone whose career it seems to always be tested by the critics and online public perception, but acting like his is in a bigger disadvantage than most actors, especially dei when his biggest roles are in Marvel, Uncharted and Cherry is crazy I'm sorry. My irritation is becaue I can tell one blog is run by a black woman its giving CC vibes no shade, and it's embarassing and sad to get angry or annoyed if he posts his Z on his ig account as opposed to his work. His play is in a few days, trust me he's more than fine!!!!
Like, he's been doing this for years, sorry. He was posting her even when they were just "mates," lol. Or get angry when fans of both post about him getting jacked and calling it "icky." When has it been icky to thirst over beefy Tom??? Do you understand this behaviour isn't exclusively to Tom. All yt celebs men get thirst after on even if they are very slim or super thick I'm sorry. Gatekeeping a public figure is crazy I'm sorry.
Like I understand being a Tom stan ain't for the weaK. Like, we've been through it, lol. The future castings he passed on, the wish for more career opportunities, stans of yt male celebs picking on him, especially ones who have been Z's costars, reading puff pieces against him in service of other actors have been rough, but I recently read that Tom doesn't care about articles about him much on Doms patreon, so I stopped caring tbh. English celebs generally go by the never complain, never explain motto when it comes to the media. Harry Styles uses it, too. I only care about what he tells us, not the other way round.
Like you guys want him to be something that he's not, and it's so tiring going round in circles. It's a silly comparison, but Tom Cruise is a questionable person who I feel is private despite knowing a lot him. Most ppl who work 9 to 5 don't care to read blogs or information about him. They see him in a good movie, they watch and have fun and go home. That's it. Tom isn't Cruise, thank god, but he mentions Christian Bale and Cillian Murphy as actors whose careers he wants to have, which is to do the work and retreat to his personal life. A lot of young actors want to do that now cause as a society, we know too much of each other.
Him not posting R+J was a bummer, but strategically, it's very smart because in this digital age, ppl want everything immediately.
Mystery builds hype. 101 marketing.
Anyways, that's my two cents.
Whew, okay…. Obviously something is going on in the fandom rn which I am not privy to, because I’m currently at work lol, because you’re like the second Anon that I’ve had in my inbox complaining about this today.
Is this all because Tom posted Z on his Instagram?? Geez people (antis) smh lol…. Get a grip! 🙄 Deal with it! Tom has a right to post his gf to his Instagram if that’s what he wants to do.
First of all, Twitter can be such a cesspool. ☹ I highly recommend not even paying much attention to what’s being said on Twitter, or, at the very least, not taking it SERIOUSLY.
Second…. I will have to agree with you somewhat on the topic of how some fans in Tom’s fandom behave. I almost feel like fans in Tom’s fandom don’t just allow him to just be? It really is sad imo. I actually have a bit of a theory as to why this is the case. This is just my personal theory, so of course, take this with a huge grain of salt… But I kind of feel like the reason why Tom is held at such a high standard (in his OWN fandom) is because most of his fans only became his fans due to Spiderman/Marvel/MCU hype. My guess is that not a lot of current Tom stans today knew or paid much attention to him PRIOR to Spiderman. So, a lot of Hollanders (Tom stans) probably were used to Tom “winning” right from the beginning right out of the gate.
Whereas, some of the stans of other popular wm fandoms (i.e. JE, Timothee Chalamet, Zac Efron, Dylan O’Brien, Ryan Gosling, Austin Butler, Bill Skarsgard, even Mike Faist, etc.) were probably fans of these guys back when they were not as well known, or when their careers weren’t as “hot” as they are currently. So, their fans are used to them being in a “struggle” position and have been patient, understanding, and open to a wider variety of “wins” and even “fails” for their male faves. They love them regardless….no matter what is going on.
But with Tom, because he gained most of his fans probably more so due to Spiderman/Marvel/MCU, I feel like his fans are/were used to him being the hot new “It Guy” right off the bat, and his stardom went CRAZY overnight, so they haven’t been there in the trenches when Tom was just an “unknown” actor. They didn’t love him before he was super hot and everywhere like he is today. So I think they don’t allow him the grace and understanding that a lot of other fandoms usually give their own faves.
Don’t get me wrong, some other fandoms do clown their faves too ROTFL! 🤣(Make no mistake about that lol) But I think Tom is held to such a higher standard because he started off as the “It Guy” , and so now, when his fans see other actors getting some addicted, or maybe “taking his spot” (maybe in their minds?) they get upset/angry/jealous/negative etc.
Idk, that’s my theory?🤷🏾♀️
For me, I’m the type of fan that’s just like how you described most people are with actors such as say Tom Cruise. While I always wish the best for my actor faves, at the end of the day, I know it’s not MY life, and I just want them to be happy. I go see a Tom Cruise movie, and I’m good! 😃 I’m not worrying about his career in the meantime, or worried if he hasn’t made a film in 3 years or whatever lol. I just take things as they come!
I think part of the reason why Tom’s fandom is so hard on him is because they have these crazy expectations on him because they see it as some type of “competition”, instead of just letting Tom BE.
I think that if you’re a TRUE fan of someone, you love them when they’re “down” and when they’re up. Don’t be a “fair-weather” fan in other words. It’s okay for an actor to have a “Down” period. This industry is very transient and challenging. It’s okay for an actor to “take a break”. It’s okay for an actor to have some hits and even some misses in their career! That’s NORMAL! Fans are way too hard on Tom imo.
I already gave my theory as to why that might be the case, but if you all have any other ideas/theories, by all means, let me know!
Re: Your Last Part about R&J…
Tom has posted about R&J a couple of times, no?? I’m sure he will post even MORE as the play gets underway. I even expect him to MAYBE do a video collage at some point showing the process. That would be super cool. 😊

Oh sorry I for the back to back
Actually tv was airing reruns of good times once so my mom put it on and I watch a couple of episodes. I mentally went OH NOOOOOOOO halfway through the trailer when realizing what it was sequel about
THERE A FUCKING REASON IM MORE EXCITED ABOUT PLAYING AS YASUKE IN A HISTORICAL FICTION THAT CENTER AROUND A ILLUMINATI WAR AND MOST GODS ARE ACTUALLY MISREMEMBERING OF A HIGHLY ADVANCED CIVILIANIZATION THAT CREATED HUMANITY FOR SLAVE LABOR 75,000 YEARS AGO
Ugh sorry for the detour, but for why Ghettos now means bad neighborhoods. I remember something
So in 7th grade , a daughter of two holocaust survivors told her parents stories. She mentioned that they immigrant to Chicago
So my theory is that when holocaust survivors was telling how they were treated prior to the Final Solution. That people especially black Americans might have started to see parallels to how African Americans were treated in America
Of course not 1:1 but we all know how Jim crows America was
Oh and that pos racist urban planner Robert Moses that lead to the huge race issues of neighborhoods
And the projects, yeah the crime ridden place that was intentionally there to keep my community as animals
Of course not every black person live in it. But there a reason why a lot of black Americans including the lunatic Kanye in his songs, reference Chicago as Chiraq
Oh sorry detour, but remember the OG candyman? I seen people ask why it focus on a white woman…holy fuuuuuuuck
🤔
Could been that a lot of middle classic Americans especially fans of the horror genre wouldn’t know about the terrible situations of the Chicago projects so they made a stand in for the majority white consumers?
Ugh don’t get me started on the remake…where they tackle police brutality… in Chicago… a Democrat and heavily black politicians voted city.
Source: I live in the Chicago area and one it suburbs. I can see the Sears tower (I will call its Willis when I’m dead) in the distance when I use the backroads
Sorry now it remind the issues with the black panther movies. Yeah it was made by race obsessed people but also it was written as a Black ™️ movie
A prime example is Killmonger backstory, yeah it was wrong for the wakandans to abandoned to the streets of Oakland….
But the problem is the vast majority of MCU consumers were white middle class people and even I had to explain some shit to a Indian mutual
Coogler forgot that media intentionally turns a blind eye to black on black crime now and how horrific black inner cities still are. So most people wouldn’t know how crime ridden Oakland was. Okay okay they would, but a lot of the intentionally markers wouldn’t
But they sure as hell remember how evil the cia iiiiis!
Tangent, but why are black creators acting like the shitty made, poorly run projects integral to our communities?
They forced upon to use when we had very limited access to jobs and such. The whole guns, crack, and welfare system was created by racist politicians to ensure we ran back to arms for votes.
Shiiit, now I’m think about, the projects should been seen as modern plantations. Made to keep us away from the others. And so many black kids who could have been doctors, lawyers, and more. All gun down in crossfires or force to join gangs in order to survive….
Oh sorry I for the back to back Actually tv was airing reruns of good times once so my mom put it on and I watch a couple of episodes. I mentally went OH NOOOOOOOO halfway through the trailer when realizing what it was sequel about
Ya, Jeffersons, Good Times, and 227 were all great shows that need to be left alone, Sanford and Son too, they're trading on the name without actually honoring the place it came from, it's a shame.
You're sort of right on Ghetto
How America's Ugly History of Segregation Changed the Meaning of the Word 'Ghetto'
Short short version is the black community adopted the term since it matched up well enough to their circumstances with forced segregation looks like as early as 1910
Oh sorry detour, but remember the OG candyman? I seen people ask why it focus on a white woman…holy fuuuuuuuck
Never saw it, but I will take your word for it on all that stuff
Sorry now it remind the issues with the black panther movies. Yeah it was made by race obsessed people but also it was written as a Black ™️ movie A prime example is Killmonger backstory, yeah it was wrong for the wakandans to abandoned to the streets of Oakland…. But the problem is the vast majority of MCU consumers were white middle class people and even I had to explain some shit to a Indian mutual
Didn't see that one either, but I did gather that it was not quite what it should have been, unfortunately there is only so much time in a movie so gotta leave it up to the viewers in places I guess, also I imagine there were plenty of people that didn't care anyhow they just wanted to see the people fighting and all the cool gadgets and such.
Coogler forgot that media intentionally turns a blind eye to black on black crime now and how horrific black inner cities still are. So most people wouldn’t know how crime ridden Oakland was. Okay okay they would, but a lot of the intentionally markers wouldn’t
You should look up the angry reviews about that one episode of Family Guy, lot of people upset at the 'family guy 'nobody cares about black on black crime' line at the end.
Tangent, but why are black creators acting like the shitty made, poorly run projects integral to our communities? They forced upon to use when we had very limited access to jobs and such. The whole guns, crack, and welfare system was created by racist politicians to ensure we ran back to arms for votes.
because people continue to consume it so there's not much motivation to change the formula, need to bring back George and Weezie, Jefferson's was a good show, Sinbad was a good show, hell even Martin wasn't half bad.
They'd hate The Jefferson's now because meritocracy is bad somehow, but how else are you supposed to move on up to the east side, to a deluxe apartment in the sky, at least most people have to work for it, especially if they started at the bottom.
Can't tell people that they have some responsibility for where they land in life now it would seem.
Shiiit, now I’m think about, the projects should been seen as modern plantations. Made to keep us away from the others. And so many black kids who could have been doctors, lawyers, and more. All gun down in crossfires or force to join gangs in order to survive….
See above about The Jefferson's and previous comments about 'crab in a bucket/work 3 times as hard'
You want a media conspiracy there you go.

"Spider-Man 4: New Home, New Life" MCU movie idea
While "Spider-Man Homecoming 4" is already in development, I have a couple of good ideas for what can be done, even if some of my ideas from this concept do find its way into the film, or in its 5th and/or 6th entry.
TITLE
"Spider-Man 4: New Home, New Life"
PRODUCTION COMPANIES
Columbia Pictures
Marvel Studios
Pascal Pictures
DISTRIBUTOR
Sony Pictures Releasing
RATING
Obviously, PG-13, moving on.
ROUGH STORY IDEA
(Some parts of this story may not be perfect, but this is all I got. If anyone has additional suggestions, feel free to comment.)
PROLOGUE
After the Columbia Pictures logo, we see Mac Gargan released from prison as he plots his revenge against Spider-Man for the ferry incident from the first movie.
OPENING TITLES
"Columbia Pictures presents"
"A Pascal Pictures Production"
"A Marvel Studios Production"
"Spider-Man 4: New Home, New Life"
MAIN STORY
After the title is revealed, we see Peter fighting crime in his new homemade suit from the end of "Spider-Man 3: No Way Home". As Peter restarts his life over as Spider-Man, he’s also struggling to keep up with his rent following his decision to let go of Aunt May, MJ, and Ned. The next morning, Peter starts his new college life at Empire State University. During his orientation, Peter would get a new set of friends like Johnny Storm (who would later go on to be The Human Torch), Felicia Hardy, and the MCU version of Eddie Brock. Peter and Johnny end up becoming roommates, Felicia attends the same science classes as Peter, and we also learn that Peter takes digital photography classes with Eddie. The whole class is given a project which will be due at a certain date, and whoever's project ends up in the Top 5 (or 10) will be displayed for future generations of students who walk down the halls (This will also play an important part in this story).
After J. Jonah Jameson finishes his latest video blog for TheDailyBugle.net, Mac Gargan steps in asking for a proposal to hunt down Spider-Man. JJJ hires Gargan, and they go to a lab run by Dr. Farley Stillwell. Stillwell shows Mac the Scorpion armor he’s been working on and uses Mac as a test subject. The only thing he overlooked is being able to take the suit off. Once Mac Gargan is fused into his Scorpion suit, Gargan goes on a violent rampage through New York, with Jameson fearing how he created a monster.
That night, Peter suits up and tries to take on the Scorpion, but the Scorpion is beating him to a pulp. What makes things more interesting is the fact that Scorpion's suit is bulletproof. Peter could end up getting impaled by Scorpion's tail, and Mac would have Peter pinned in a tight spot where he could kill Peter, but Spidey would be rescued by a woman with silver hair, a black mask, and a black jumpsuit with long white gloves and boots. This is Black Cat. She uses her whip on Scorpion's tail and could defeat him. Spidey would thank Black Cat for saving his life, and we learn that Black Cat knows Peter's identity. She introduces herself as Felicia Hardy, and we learn that sometime either before or after the events of “Spider-Man 3: No Way Home, Felicia is a huge fan of Spider-Man (making her one of the few people to not be affected by Doctor Strange's spell). While Peter questions the get-up, Black Cat gives Peter her contact information, reminding Peter she's a few dorms away (reference to Bo Peep’s line, “I’m just a couple of blocks away” from “Toy Story”).
When Peter gets back to his apartment, Peter gets a nightmare from the poison Scorpion gave him. In it, the dream could have something like MJ being taken from him by someone else. And Ned Leeds being the Hobgoblin, who doesn’t show mercy to Peter. As Peter tries to chase after Ned, Peter's feet are stuck in some big giant tar pit. Peter would slowly sink into the tar like he's standing in quicksand, and Peter wakes up horrified, only to see his homemade suit is now black. Peter would start to hear Venom’s voice and would introduce himself to Peter. Peter learns from the symbiote what abilities he didn’t know that symbiote had like unlimited webbing and the ability to instantly heal Peter whenever he’s scarred and bruised (basically, whatever powers the SSU Venom was capable of to begin with). Over time, Peter starts to become more and more attached to the symbiote, to the point where he merges into Peter's clothes so he'll always have it on him.
(I haven't thought up much here, but I figured I could just skip to the climax.)
On the day digital photography projects are due for the judges and professors to see, the judges and professors observe each digital photography project like panoramas, collages, and even a group of images that make the late Stan Lee’s head. Eddie’s project seems to gain a following among the observers and feel they have a winner on their hands for the #1 spot. However, before the judges make their final decision, Peter speaks up and exposes Eddie’s project for false information about Spider-Man, leaving the judges and digital photography professor mortified. Eddie's project is disqualified, and Eddie fails the semester, forcing him to clean out his dorm room and never return to ESU.
With Scorpion still running amok on the streets, and J. Jonah blaming himself for creating Scorpion, Peter decides to fight Scorpion with his symbiote suit. Peter learned from Scorpion’s last encounter, and thanks to the symbiote, he’s able to overthrow Scorpion, with Scorpion now in Peter’s place. With Peter holding Scorpion’s tail and preparing to kill him with it, the symbiote suddenly shows Peter a memory. Peter can hear (or see, depending on your view) a flashback of Tony Stark telling Peter, “If you’re nothing without this suit, then you shouldn’t have it. What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right? Because that’s on you!”. Then another flashback would show Aunt May saying “You have a gift. You have power. And with great power, there must also come great responsibility”. Then another flashback where Andrew Garfield's Peter saying "At some point, I just... I stopped pulling my punches. I got rageful. I got bitter. I just don't want you... to end up like... like me.". Depending on the number flashbacks that would be shown, Peter would come around by impaling Scorpion's tail into the ground, leaving him for the police and sparing his life.
As Peter reflects on the selfish choices he made by wearing that symbiote, and the fact that he almost was about to kill Scorpion, Peter decides he needs to take the symbiote off. Instead of the normal route where Peter uses a church's bell tower, I was thinking that instead, Peter could enter a science lab and try mixing random chemicals to get the symbiote off him. Nothing works until Peter accidentally creates a fiery explosion, which scares the symbiote and melts off of Peter. Luckily, Peter was able to remove the symbiote before the sprinklers went off. The symbiote escapes through air vent and Peter makes it back to his dorm room before getting caught by security.
To properly end the movie, Peter would be able to attend Johnny's graduation, with Peter introduced to Johnny's sister, Susan. Susan would give Peter Reed Richards' contact information, as it would be hinted that Reed is Susan's fiancee. As for Peter and Felicia's relationship, now that Peter had learned to let go of the past, Peter would now be dating Felicia.
POST CREDITS SCENE(s)
The first post credits scene would have the symbiote fall through an air duct that leads to MCU Eddie's dorm room. The symbiote would land on MCU Eddie, and we would get a proper MCU introduction to Venom.
Another post credits scene would reveal the establishment of the Fantastic Four before they got their powers. And depending on which sequel for "Spider-Man Homecoming" or "The Fantastic Four" happens, Spider-Man should make an appearance as an additional ally.
CASTING CHOICES
As far as the new characters, I imagined that for Felicia Hardy, Sabrina Carpenter could portray her as herself and as Black Cat. As far as Venom is concerned, Tom Hardy would be able to reprise his voice role given his appearance as SSU Eddie Brock and Venom appear in the first post-credits scene for "Spider-Man 3: No Way Home".

2023 Movie Journey #7: Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania

ant-man and the wasp: quantumania. wow, these titles just keep getting longer, huh. pretty soon they’re going to be listing every character in the name.
i saw this one in the theater, and saved the following as a note while i was waiting for it to start:
omg, i wondered why they recast cassie in the third movie with an actress that's much more prominent, featured in everything from big little lies to detective pikachu. and then very helpfully, while i'm waiting here, one of their pre-movie features was a game with the actress who will be starring soon in are you there god, it's me margaret...and she is the same actress who originally played cassie!! i didn't know that. so now I wonder if she had a scheduling conflict, rather than just getting replaced. that would be better imo since the actress who took over the role is great but i liked the original too and i don’t like when an actress is dumped from the role she originated for reasons like ‘we need somebody more well-known now that the role is more important’
gosh, i have a lot to say about this one i think. i always intended to watch the ant-man movies because they seemed fun, but it was the release of this one that got me to finally, actually do so. by the time it was coming out and jonathan majors was going to be the new antagonist and i was a huge fan of his (all things that weren’t true a couple of years ago) i was really happy to be able to catch up on the others and then see this one in the theater. and it was a great time. spoilers ahead.
ETA: i wrote this whole review, and saw this movie twice in theaters, only days before the news broke about jonathan majors being arrested. i have big, complicated feelings now about what he’s accused of and the consequences he’s faced versus how so many white men have been treated when they face similar accusations; about how it changed my opinion of him and destroyed my desire to see him in creed iii; about how talented an actor i still think he is and how much it sucks that people can be both talented and behave in ways that horrify me when i don’t even know them; how he was the beating heart of lovecraft country and i’d never seen a black man in a TV drama get to be that before, especially when surrounded by such a scene-stealing, strong cast; and how i may never be able to watch that series again, the same way i doubt i’ll ever rewatch this movie. but i reviewed this movie not knowing any of that yet, so my thoughts about him were true for that moment, and i’m leaving them in like a time capsule for my own experience.
it was NOT what i was expecting, though, so that made the first part of the movie really hard for me to get through--i was probably at least a third of the way in before i started enjoying it. there was just a ton of worldbuilding and what felt like a huge genre shift, from the action-comedy (with a hint of scifi) of the first two to suddenly a lot of scifi-fantasy. i couldn’t help being reminded of star wars, and how much the details of the whole ‘alien world’ part of it bore me, when i just want to watch carrie fisher exist. here, i was thrilled to see michelle pfeiffer have a much bigger role, but i didn’t need it to be happening inside a world we didn’t previously know existed in the ant-man universe, one where even the ants that had originally been the point were absent during all that worldbuilding.
however, i felt like the setup did pay off enough in the end that i enjoyed it, and i don’t think it would bother me so much in a rewatch. part of what had me so off-balance in the beginning is that each movie occurs inside the larger mcu with a huge time gap between ant-man installments, so they expect you to know what happened offscreen (they include minimal descriptions, but it can still be confusing as a standalone viewer) and the offscreen happenings create real effects on the story you’re jumping into. for example, knowing that the snap happened at the end of the last movie (and even knowing vaguely what the snap was) didn’t stop me from wondering what cassie’s life was like while the others were gone. was she raised by her mom, or were all the adults in her life vanished? if so, what happened then? i know i could try to look that up with mcu research but i wish instead it had been more directly a part of the movie since she was a more central character this time--or that there had been an ant-man movie that fit between this one and ant-man and the wasp, somehow.
but anyway, this movie was very clearly setting up a new antagonist, which they did by further developing the backstory of michelle pfeiffer’s time in the quantum realm. once i got into it, i enjoyed it a ton, because it meant a ton of screentime where she was working opposite jonathan majors, and all of those scenes felt like gifts just for me--they’re both so unbelievably talented and they’re also actors who can do such great dramatic work, it was hard for me to wrap my mind around them being in this marvel movie with all its action and cgi and creatures.
the family dynamics in this one were also important, and we got great interactions between the two couples, but it really did feel quite different than the first two movies, and i think that’s why--the ultimate focus of the story was kang, the new villain, even when it came to how scott’s burglar talents would be called into action. his sudden existence drove the action. i feel like my opinion was backed up by the very end of the movie, too, when the movie flashed a closing card like the first two had. that was one of my favorite little parts of the sequel, when the closing card added a question mark because the snap had left scott stranded and we would have to wait to see if he returned. but whereas the other ones ended with ‘ant-man will return’...this one ended with ‘kang will return.’
and i can understand why, since scott was left feeling uneasy about kang’s death but otherwise his life--and therefore his story--was neatly tied up. even if they bring him back for other mcu appearances, there’s no part of this movie that requires a next ant-man installment. which further points to how much of this film was an extended setup for kang to move on to other mcu battles, even though i think they fit it all into scott and hope’s families and lives and overall development well enough.
there is one question i found myself left with after seeing this, that may have been explained in the movie--it was such a long movie with so much happening, i might have just forgot that they addressed it. but scott was stranded in the quantum realm for years after the snap. even though he was stranded for less years than michelle pfeiffer, i wonder why he never discovered any hint of the other worlds she roamed through? was it just that his suit tech kept him in one layer of that space, and she had moved through so many of them, she ended up in a place he couldn’t get to? did he just stay put and try not to move for five years and thus wouldn’t have seen anything? another thing i could probably research but won’t, lol.
overall, i don’t think the ant-man world was necessarily improved by being moved to space (even if they call it the quantum realm)--but for me personally, that was heavily outweighed by my enjoyment of michelle pfeiffer and jonathan majors getting to fill the spaces they were in like the talents they are, and the rest of the characters and cast being just as great as always. living so intensely in this world for a couple of days really left an impression on me, but it was a super fun impression and i’m glad i visited.
