I watched the season premiere of The Last of Us last night and it was pretty good (I give it a solid 8/10), but one thing that kinda annoyed me in season one that's annoying me even more this season is people acting like recreating scenes from the source material 1:1 is grounds enough for calling an adaptation objectively good. I've played these games, I know they're good, but what is the show doing that makes the show good? There are many ways to be faithful to a source material without copy and pasting every other scene, just look at Fallout. I'm not trying to be a hater, but saying the show is good just because it's accurate gives me the same vibes as people who say a book is good just because it has gay people in it.
#like the best scene in the first ep by far is the one between Joel and Gail the therapist#it's something completely new that expands on both the world and the characters (and acted superbly I might add)#also spotlighting the relationship between Ellie and Tommy and Joel and Dina was 👌💯#especially with Joel and Dina because now that it's established that they work together and are close and that she looks up to him#it makes even more sense that she'd accompany Ellie to Seattle#on the other hand having Abby explicitly state her intentions within the first 5 minutes of the show was weaksauce#I get it they're trying to soften the blow in a way and maybe minimize the fallout but bro. the shock of that scene was the best part 😭#don't de-fang the story to appeal to a bigger audience you cowards#we'll see how it plays out I guess. sending prayers to that actress tho because I'm pretty sure it's happening next week lol#lucy rants#the last of us#the last of us spoilers#the last of us part 2 spoilers#for the tags dsjkfbkj

I do wonder how if Wendy Calio wasn't cast as Nina, the show would've been quite different. Like, I think they made Nina Hawaiian because her actor is, and it's likely if her actor was a different ethnicity the show would maybe dedicate themes for that culture instead, or maybe not use them at all ? But I doubt they'd touch on different ethnic minorities if none of the people have anything involved with it.
Altho maybe I'm not one to talk about it I don't really know crap I just want to get this thought out my head lol
It is a bit funny since they have no problem acting out stereotypes for bigger nations (?) like playing French and Russian characters (I don't think they have others unless I'm forgetting). I choose to believe Al from "Wishful Thinking" is a play on Disney Aladdin rather than trying to depict West Asian cultures (even if that itself has Orientalist themes, this is made by American production in the 2010s what do we expect lol. even current media still has heavy Orientalist themes, so I don't think there's much point to worry other than be aware of it in this show). Besides I don't think they put in actual harmful stereotypes in that episode, it's very obvious a parody of the genie from the movie.
So to say, they handled the Hawaiian themes respectfully enough in the show (compared to a pretty well-known film around that time *cough* HSM2 *cough* with a removed song/scene that's basically cultural appropriation) and didn't have a "encouraging tourism in Hawaiʻi" aspect considering how big of a problem it is to the native residents. They're doing it way better than current era Disney with the Lilo & Stitch remake, tho I guess that's not much a comparison when the latter is just incredibly bad.

More designs and headcanons for the SUGARCOATED AU!
Big credits to these two awesome people who made the Fount of Knowledge and Pre-corrupted Mystic Flour sprites that I used above!! Their original post is linked along with their @ if you wanna check them out :D!

Similar to Eternal Sugar's post (<- in which you can find a very small breakdown of her outfit design and a few headcanons) Below the cut is a few design details I made for Shmilk (BM) and Mysty (WPF) and a few more ideas for how this crossover AU will go!
The cut may not appear for others so I guess if you're one of them you can try to maybe scroll down really fast if you haven't yet played or watched a playthrough or summary of the game OMORI and don't wanna get spoiled of the game's horrors which for me, is one of its best parts! I would know cuz it took me a week to recover :D. 💯 percent would recommend if you just love to put yourself in undescribable emotional pain ^^💕.
But big chunky trigger warning for those who are sensitive to things like depictions of depression, anxiety, suicide, flashing lights and a bunch of other stuff!— it's pretty expected from a psychological horror game, but please don't be pressured to play or watch it!
Added Eternal Sugar's design thingy along since I wanted to change her weapon. Her U-shaped harp matched her angel form more, so I replaced it with the harp from her legendary costume! Suits her even better since both designs are more fairy like.
Anyways NOTES and HEADCANONS:
Really wanna lean in to the way how Sugar seems to slightly not belong with the rest like how Omori is with his monotone expression and colors. I mentioned before in her own design post how she's the only character in some sort of sleep ware, a few other differences I added here is that shes the only one based on her beast form and also the only one named after it, everyone else's design look more, and are named, like their virtues.
Each of them have fantasy-adventure-group-roles! Blueberry Milk being the wizard or mage and Pastry Flour being the healer. Not sure about everyone else's tho.
I really like the idea of Blueberry, being the "Basil" of this AU and giving everyone insects to represent them!! Mentioned how this has definitely been done before (Omoriposa AU by madnopost :D!) But it just suits so well especially since their beta designs are already based on insects so I'm kinda thinking of really adding it
And on the topic of being "Basil", I hc before that Bspice would be the sporty but actually artsy type— which would be a really fun characteristic to give to him but I feel like giving it to Shmilk instead. He would make doodles of their times together to parallel with the way Sunny remembered the truth through Basil's photographs
And speaking of hobbies, in the real world, Sugar loves to bake! Which is why everyone is named after some sort of ingredient (minus Elder Faerie?) and why her happyspace is almost filled to the brim with desserts and sweets. Keyword 'almost' as it seems that if things are not going so well eyes, teeth, and organs seem to be growing more apparent here and there (just like in Sugar's actual garden in game). Also her weapon irl is a cake slicer.
Other than that, Shmilk likes to read and with the new head canon, draw, and is one of those too-smart-kids-for-their-age, meanwhile Mystic loves to embroider and crochet in her free time! Hence why, other than Shmilk's insect assigning, in Sugar's imaginary happyspace she's portrayed as a spider.

a/n: i was so burnt out so lets see what i come up with ….its short ik and yes im cooking up something w cynthia LET ME COOK 🫡🙄🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
the idea of divorce was swimming in the mist of your mind hours before you regained most of the movement in your body. you knew you had to get out of this situation in a peaceful but quick manner. in your mind, leaving saer should have been easy since he hated edina more than the devil himself. he saw her as a shit stain satan left on earth to torture him for all of his days. so why are tears running down his face…thats odd? from all of the tweets, forums, and blogs saer had close to no emotions for edina. he hated her through and through. in the original story, he would’ve cheered of joy if she simply asked to part ways. so why was he sitting in front of you crying? was the bacon too salty? was he remembering the good ol’ times with his late father? ever since you’ve transmigrated into this story, everything has been so weird. aside from you being close to perfectly fine after being fed poison, saer has became more careful.
in the book, saer was close to a bubbling idiot. every single assassination attempt was stopped by a maid because he was stupid. he always played it as cynthia and amanda favoring edina but that wasnt the full truth. he was just too obvious with everything he was doing. you actually kind of felt back for the dummy, no wonder gracie wants nothing to do with him. regardless of any of that, you actually started to feel a bit bad for him. it was obvious saer didnt know why he was crying or how to stop it by the way his face was balled up in red confusion. maybe it was out of guilt or for the plot, either way you wanted to help him. maybe he wanted to kill you but seeing a grown man cry really did break your heart.
“now, saer..”
gently pushing your hand out to cover his larger ones, you put on a voice of concern. you want to help the poor idiot but you also want to get out of this house alive. maybe playing the sweet docile wife could do you some good, maybe—
“ugh, stupid bitch get off of me.”
slapping your hand off of his, saer attempted to keep a face of pure disgust plastered for you to see. why on earth was he crying, and why on earth are you being so off-putting? at first, your new actions didnt really bother him. were they different? yes, but they weren’t unpleasant. but now...it was as if the poison made you utterly indifferent to his presence, which he told himself he loved, but the lord knows thats a lie. you quietly sitting there, dry-face, with a slight frown and uninterested body language, angered him. saer was crying purely for reactions. he thought that crying would help him close this conversation and make you jump up and beg for his forgiveness, but no. all you did was lift your grimly, beastly fingers to ‘comfort’ him. what a joke of a woman.
“im finished with my breakfast”
the scream of the chair was louder than your own thoughts, kicking you out of your own subconscious. what even was that about? you were TRYING to be the version of edina you thought he would like, second from you killing yourself right there and then. so why was he acting like you were trying to jump his bones? he is such a wicked man….such a sad excuse of a person. its such a shame his attitude is so sour, you were going to try to soften his walls to see if he would lighten up on the poisoning situation. how did he get it? who did he get it from?
“madam,”
lightly placing her hand on your shoulder, cynthia appeared. scaring you out of your thoughts, you straightened your back and put on the best fake smile you could. you knew cynthia didnt really care for you, as demonstrated by the bath she gave you earlier, but you thought that maybe you could melt this ice queen. her soft ginger coils shaped her face in all the right places, giving her olive skin the type of glow women in the real world would kill for. she had green eyes to match alone with it, making it easy to find yourself lost in them. cynthia was a beautiful woman; just how did she become a maid for this jackass?

Fighting with your boyfriend sucks, but getting caught sobbing at a party sucks even worse. Mainly because you know strangers will see and talk about you as “that one sad girl from last night.”
You only solace is that your best friend spots you crying the moment she enters the room and rushes to your side immediately, eyes wide with worry.
“What’s wrong?” she cries, shoving open a closed bedroom door and ushering you inside and away from the crowds. “Don’t tell me some asshole dared to lay a finger on you—”
Fervently, you shake your head. “No, nothing like that. Don’t worry.”
She frowns. “If it’s not that, then what is it?”
Sighing, you plop down on the edge of the bed, hoping whatever frat guy’s room you’re in has washed his sheets recently. “Rin and I are fighting,” you mope. “And now he’s not talking to me.”
“What a jerk!” your best friend exclaims, always ready to take your side no matter the reason.
You crack a smile at the way she jumps to your defense. “It’s just so frustrating because he never apologizes first after an argument. And this time, I don’t want to be the one to! So now, we’re just in a stalemate because he’s so stubborn.”
“Men are idiots,” she says with an eye roll. “Lucky for you, I know the perfect way to get Rin to cave. He’ll realize just how much he’s missing!”
Eying her warily, you can’t help but ask, “What exactly are you thinking…?”
She grins evilly, taking her purse off her shoulder and pulling out a little makeup pouch. Shuffling through the contents, she makes a noise of satisfaction as she pulls out a mini eyeshadow palette and a reddish purple lipstick.
Confused, you tilt your head to the side. “You’re going to do my makeup?”
“Sure… Something like that.”
You blink.
“Come here and give me your neck!” she says impatiently. “I’m going to give you a fake hickey. We’re going to make Rin so jealous he grovels for just a crumb of your attention.”
“You think that’s a good idea?” you say worriedly, touching your collarbone and glancing at the makeup in your best friend’s hands.
She simply shrugs, as if she put no further thought into this so-called plan. “Not sure. Guess we’ll find out!”
You didn’t drink much tonight (alcohol and sadness would only create even more embarrassing tears), but just the proximity of alcohol must’ve dulled your brain cells even more, since you decided to agree. “Well, okay. Why not?”
With a wide smile, she gets to work, expertly applying eyeshadows and lip gloss until it looks like there’s a fresh new hickey on the side of your neck.
Taking a step back, she admires her work with a proud sniffle. “Wow. Looks better than any of the hickeys I’ve gotten.”
“Maybe you need to make out with better people,” you giggle, thinking about how Rin’s hickeys look much better than this fake one. Feel better, too.
“Ugh, whatever,” she scoffs playfully. “Not everyone can have a hot as shit and slightly psychotic boyfriend who hates everyone except his girlfriend.”
Her description makes you laugh before you remember your fight and how he still isn’t talking to you. Suddenly, your shoulders slump as you pout. “What if he hates me now, too?”
“He doesn’t! He’s so obsessed with you, babe,” she promises sincerely, giving you a hug. “He’s just a little stupid and stubborn! Here, give me your phone.”
You eye her questioningly but oblige nonetheless.
With your phone in hand, your best friend unlocks the screen and calls Rin.
“Hey!” you protest, but she puts her finger to her lips the moment he picks up.
“Hello?” he mumbles, sounding tired. It is almost midnight, after all. Rin was probably trying to sleep.
“Hey, Rin!” your friend sings.
Rin stays silent and you hear shuffling noises coming from his side of the line, likely him realizing he wasn’t on the phone with you. “What do you want?”
“Y/N’s, like, sooo tipsy right now,” she says, pretending to slur her words as well. “We’re at a party because, you know, you made her all depressed after your fight, but I think you need to come pick her up now…”
You hear the sound of a door opening and a car unlocking.
“I’m on my way,” he says as the engine revs in the background. “Please watch her until I get there.”
The phone beeps as the call ends and your best friend looks at you smugly.
“What?” you ask her, raising your brow.
“Told you he loves you. He even answered on the first ring!”
Your cheeks heat up as you look to the floor, shrugging. “Yeah,” you say quietly.
“But, you can’t forgive him just yet!” she scolds. “You have to pretend you're drunk and then he’ll see your hickey and get super jealous and regret what he did even more.”
“Or he could get mad and think I cheated and break up with me,” you try to reason.
She shakes her head. “Nah. He wouldn’t…” she trails off, suddenly unsure. “Well, maybe taking a few shots first would help?”
Your brain is, once again, telling you this is not a great idea. But, once again, you choose to ignore it. “Yeah, probably.”
With a grin, she leads you out of the room and back to the party where the two of you begin to take shot after shot. Not enough to get too fucked up, of course, but enough to think maybe your best friend’s idea is amazing after all.
But the time Rin arrives, the statement that you’re “sooo tipsy right now” is no longer a lie. In fact, as Rin’s car pulls up into the driveway, you all but stumble into his arms while your best friend winks goodbye.
“Hey, Rinnie,” you drawl, a careless grin on your face.
“Hey,” he replies quietly, looking you up and down with concern in his eyes. “Are you okay?”
“Just peachy!” you chirp as you enter the passenger seat of his car. “Just a little dizzy. And I want fries…”
He exhales through his nose before getting into the driver’s seat and starting his car. “Okay, we can stop by somewhere before heading to my place. How much did you drink?”
“Not too much,” you promise, leaning sideways against the car window and closing your eyes at the lightheaded feeling that rushes through you. “Just…enough.”
“Enough?” repeats Rin with a snort, glancing over at you for a brief second.
In that one moment, you notice his mood change as he abruptly pulls the car over to the side of the road.
You open your eyes at the jolt of inertia and your confused gaze meets Rin’s pissed off face. And by pissed off, you really do mean angry as shit.
“What is that?” he asks, barely able to control the tone of his voice.
You bolt upright with worry, not yet realizing what he’s talking about. “What?” you ask with wide eyes.
His eyes darken and his glare zeroes in on your collarbone. “That thing on your neck,” he spits. “Is that a fucking hickey?”
Realization crashes over you like a wave and you temporarily feel the alcohol evaporate from your body. What the hell were you and your best friend thinking again? “Oh, shit.”
“That’s all you have to say for yourself?” he asks incredulously.
You shake your head. “No! Well, I mean, it’s just…” as you begin to explain yourself, you hear your friend's voice in the back of your head telling you this is the best way to make Rin grovel after your fight. Pushing aside your guilty conscience (and your last thread of logic and rationality), you bite your tongue and nod. “Yeah. I didn’t think you would care. It’s not like you’ve even talked to me the last two days.”
Rin grits his teeth and unbuckles his seatbelt to face you fully, leaning over to your side of the car with an annoyed expression. “Didn’t think I care?”
You shrug, trying not to give in.
“You know damn well I care,” he barks out, reaching out to brush the side of your neck, his touch is gentle but his fingers tremble, as if he’s holding himself back from snapping by a single thread. “Just because we’re in the middle of a fight doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
Biting the corner of your lower lip, you swallow and remain silent.
“It doesn’t matter how bad our fight is. No one is allowed to touch you like that,” Rin warns, placing his large hand on the nape of your neck and guiding you towards him. “If I ever see someone else’s mark on you again, I won’t be so patient next time.”
Your stomach churns with a mixture of dread and excitement. “What will you do?” you prompt, voice catching in your throat.
“Murder them,” he says simply. “And punish you.”
With a sharp inhale, you make a mental note to send your best friend a giant thank you basket for the fake hickey.
Before you can open your mouth to reply, Rin’s patience snaps as he grabs your chin and lifts it up until your lips clash against his. Your eyes widen in surprise at the sudden movement before your shoulders relax as the familiar scent of Rin fills your senses.
He presses himself deeper into the kiss, nipping roughly at your plush bottom lip as his hand trails down from your chin to your neck. His warm, calloused hand lingers at the base of your neck for a few seconds too long before he lazily trails down your breasts and stomach, stopping only to grab at your waist and pull you tight against his body.
You arch your back as his grip on you tightens, urging your body to feel every inch of Rin that you possibly can. Your hands find their way around his neck, intertwining your fingers through his hair.
“Mmm,” you moan when you feel the teasing wetness of his tongue lick the spot he just bit. “Is this supposed to be a punishment?”
“No,” he murmurs in between kisses, slowly pulling away from your lips to trail his hot, wet mouth against your jaw and down to the spot on your neck behind your ear. “This is just to show you how much better it is with me.”
You feel a shiver shoot down your spine as Rin begins to toy with the most sensitive spot of your neck, nipping and sucking and licking until you’re a squirming mess on his passenger seat.
“That dumbass didn’t even give you a hickey in your favorite place,” he says mockingly, teasingly biting the lobe of your ear once he was satisfied with the mark he made. “How embarrassing.”
You whine as he caresses your ear so gently, it tickles.
“You’re mine,” growls Rin under his breath. “No one can make you feel as good as I do. Isn’t that right, baby?”
The hairs on the back of your neck stand up as you make a pathetic noise of agreement.
You feel Rin smirk against your skin before he pulls away and lets you catch your breath. At this distance, he manages to take a look at your so-called hickey, brows furrowing when he notices how smudged it’s become.
“What—?” his words break off, taking a look at his fingertips that now had purple and red eyeshadow and lipgloss on it. “Y/N… What the hell is this?”
At his confused and helpless expression, you can’t help but stifle the giggle that escapes you.
His crease between his brows crinkle even more at your lack of explanation.

You nod sheepishly. “Makeup…” you repeat, showing him the eyeshadow smeared on you. “No matter how bad of a fight we’re in, I would never do that to you, Rin.”
He notices your tone switch from playful to genuine and he looks up at you with a serious expression on his face. “Good. I can’t play soccer professionally if I get arrested for murdering the person who gives you a hickey.”
“The only person that would be is yourself,” you promise with a grin, fingers instrinctly grazing the sensitive love bite he just made. “You’re the only person I want kissing my neck, anyway.”
“The smartest thing you’ve said all day,” says Rin dryly, placing another kiss on your jaw. “Still, your punishment for that stupid prank isn’t over.”
“It’s not?”
He shakes his head slowly, darkened eyes trained on you with a half-lidded gaze. “Hasn’t even started.”
Suddenly, you’re hyper-aware of the heat between the two of you fogging up his car windows. With the heavy breathing and hot touches, it’s no wonder the temperature around you rose. Add in the alcohol that is still lingering in your system, and it’s a recipe for a volcanic eruption.
His fingers cup your cheek and they brush sensually against your soft skin. You lean in, anticipating another kiss when he pulls away with a laugh.
You whine and pout, but it only adds fuel to Rin’s cruel satisfaction.

BUMBLEBEE
In the beginning he was kind of confused but never gave it too much thought before you two became a couple.
There were a few times you would arrive to the base and have those little outburts with the kids - it was always hugs and gentle cheek-to-cheek snuggles (specially with Miko and Raff). Bee always associated it to when a Carrier or Sire are with their sparkling. Which is good! It means you care for them! And that makes Bee beep happily.
But when you two became a couple? Bee was actually scared! At least the first times.
"My precious Bee!" your shout is followed by Bee's surprised beep, but when he sees it's just you, he sighs in relief as you hug his peds.
Remember how Bee's face looks whenever someone in the movies touches his cheek? Yeah, that's how he looks at you - with pure love and adoration as he melts while you are hugging his faceplate and gently rubbing your face against his.
Would gently snuzzle his faceplate against you whenever you are cuddling - making you giggle cuz I imagine his faceplate would nearly always be against your torso.
He beeps-chuckles at anytime you hug his pedes or legplates and loudly make 'mwah' noises.
Bee does get shy when anyone mentions how fuzzy and flusttered he looks after getting a kiss or cuddle from you, but the shyness becomes enamoured sighs as he counts the kliks until you have another affection burst on him.
"Beep..."
"Oh, come on, Bee - she just left. And she gave you your daily dosis of cuddles! Don't be sad!" Raff says back, smiling at his guardian.
Come back and give him love, S/O. *(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*ଘ
SMOKESCREEN
This mech looking at his S/O like (❤ ω ❤) 24/7 all year around.
The very 1st time he saw you have that platonic-affection outburst with any of the kids he was curious... aaand lowkey hopeful he would get one too.
"I wish S/O would hug me too..." / "Beep-wee?" / "N-nothing!"
When you two became a couple there are affection bursts from both of you, nearly every day.
You two become Ratchet's worst nightmare - Ratchet was already starting to accept your affection outburts. But now having Smokescreen not shut up about you? And also always shout "My precious star!" whenever he sees you, followed by "Smokyyy!" from your part? "Primus, end me."
Smokescreen loves to hold you carefully on his servos and lift you to his helm level so you can hug him and press kisses all over his faceplate.
And he always kisses the top of your head, imitating your loud 'mwah!' sounds.
"Isn't my sparkmate the best? And the most beautiful girl of them all? If I could I would always carry her and kiss her and - !"
Your relationship with Smokescreen would be:
"I am a serious and cold-calculated autobot!" / "Who is my beloved Smoky?" / "Meee :3"
He holds you so dearly while you hug his chestplate, and he can't help but feel like his spark is vibrating in pure happiness. His precious little star.
SOUNDWAVE
Well... this is new.
Soundwave is always on alert, after all, he was to keep an optic on anyone and anything inside and outside of the Nemesis.
How did he not notice you arrive to his area and hug one of his tentacles?
He actually flinched and slowly looked down at you.
You just laughed awkwardly as you let go of his tentacle. "Sorry, Soundwave - wanted to, uh, give you a hug... have a nice day!" and you leave quickly.
Soundwave never takes off his optics from you until you finally disappear from his sight, to then look down at his hugged tentacle. It felt... nice.
From that day, whenever you two are in the same place, he slowly moves one of his tentacles towards you. And when you finally catch on that you can hug him again, you swear you saw the smiling face emoji on his faceplate.
It takes time to let you hug more than his tentacle - starts to let you hug his pedes or legplates. Then when he finally lets you get on his servo, he only lets you hug or rest against his chestplate.
But when he allows you to hug his faceplate?
The panel on his faceplate only showed kiss and enamoured emojis when you kissed it.
Of course, only when you two are all alone! But won't stop you if you have your affection outburst while others watch. They know better than to judge or laugh at the sight.
"My scary and big Soundwave." /affectionate.
" (❤´艸｀❤) "
He will now always try to have you on his servos or carry you around. And loooves when you snuggle aggressively your cheek against his armplates or servos.
Will do the same with either his own faceplate or use one of his tentacles to playfully snuggle your face.
Becomes really silly with you.

Totally agree 💯 with your thoughts on Sanji as a romantic partner (he's my favourite 🥰). What is your opinion on him as a sexual partner? Okay, buckle up, folks—I've put some serious thought into this, and here comes a full-blown essay.
First off, I’m convinced Sanji is a virgin. Hear me out. I think even Oda might’ve hinted at this somewhere? The guy’s all about the romance of the relationship, not the deed itself. His intensity about love probably scares off anyone looking for casual fun. Add to that his chronic nosebleeds at even the hint of affection or attraction—it’s safe to say it takes someone very special to get over him losing his entire supply of blood through his nose to get to that level.
But let’s talk about Sanji as a lover. The man is a giver, full stop. His happiness comes from making you happy, no matter the lengths he has to go to. Sanji’s the kind of guy who could literally lose himself in your pleasure—like, "Oh, you’re enjoying this? Great, I’m done!" He’s probably the type to cum in his pants while he’s focusing on you.
In the early stages of your relationship, Sanji would be laser-focused on perfecting his technique. Picture him pouring over every guide, every book, every questionable magazine he can find to up his game. And don’t think he’d stop there—oh no, this man would shamelessly eavesdrop on his fellow crew members for tips. And yes, I absolutely believe he’d practice on a half-eaten peach in the privacy of his room. (RIP peaches, forever ruined for him he can't go near them without his pants tightening .)
