#I REWATCHED AND I WAS SAVED TWICE AMAZING

His new show is amazing. The fans are not disappointed at all. Countdown is an edge of your seat thrill ride. It isn't just about their race to save LA its more complex than that. Mark Meacham has his own countdown. He is dying from a brain tumor. That's why he is acting out like he is. Each character has their own unique back story that is slowly unfolding as each episode went on. I have rewatched Countdown several times. Your two possibilities don't make any sense. You're just saying the same thing twice and just rewording how you are saying it. All I have seen from Jared stans since Countdown premiered is them bashing the show and making fun of any negative reviews. The few negative fan reviews I saw on places like rotten tomatoes came off as being written by people who never even watched an episode. So there are people out there leaving hate reviews to hurt Jensen's new show. Luckily, there are more good reviews than negative being left from fans. I have never trusted reviews from critics. They are always narrow-minded and miss the bigger picture of what a show is about. Their job is to bash shows that don't fit into their narrow-minded molds of what they think is good. If the show wasn't good, it wouldn't be in the top five shows streaming right now. It's currently the number 2 show streaming in America for Prime. Every day, there are more amazing reviews coming out about Countdown. If Amazon didn't think it was going to be the huge hit that it is, they wouldn't have given them a 13 episode 1st season when all the other shows get 8 episodes a season.

Interesting how AAs and/or hellers increase their bad takes and attacks on Jared and his fans the same week Jensen's new show comes out. There's really only two possible reasons for this. One, the reviewers were right and the show really isn't interesting enough to keep their attention, or two, they're trying to divert attention away from the show because of how bad it is. Or, it's a combination of both reasons, neither of which are a great sign for Countdown.

I was rewatching Influencer Arc Ep 1 because the music slays, and the fight choreography is just awesome.

But then I noticed this;

So, to those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, I noticed that Blue just kind of waits there for a moment before going in to help Red. I wondered why, because throughout the series, these stick figures are shown to have really quick reaction times in these kinds of moments.

But then it hit me; it's about personality.

So then I decided to do a deep analysis of Blue's character, which is probably going to be the first of five parts (maybe even more) where I deep dive into everyone's traits and flaws and whatnot.

Here goes...

So, we've seen Blue as more of the pacifist assistant. He likes plants, netherwart, potions, and cooking. You don't really see him being the first to instigate something, or the star of a fight. Heck, even in the Raid episode, it's more focused on Yellow and the command block staff than him.

But we do see more of an aggressive trait as well, in that sometimes, he acts without thinking.

LIKE THE LAVA. HE DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT AND JUMPED INTO STICKING LAVA. WOW. WOWOWOW. WOWOWOW.

But, what startles me, is that even though he'll self-sacrificially jump to save someone, and follow someone without thinking, and needs someone to ground him (usually Yellow), there are also times where he just freezes. Like in the Influencer Arc. He freezes when Red is getting beat up by the clones, before shooting at them. His brain takes a second (hehe) to catch up.

And here, too. Yellow is making a plan, where Blue's emotions are overriding any sort of thought.

...BUT AT THE SAME TIME, we also see those two things coalesce together for the better. We see him take action instead of freezing, and actually think about what he's doing as well. And this moment in the battle against the King goes kind of unnoticed, in my opinion, since there were so many hard fighting sequences and emotional stakes.

LIKE WHAT THE STICK. HE LED AN ENTIRE VILLAGE INTO WAR, AND THEY WERE ACTUALLY ABLE TO HOLD THEIR OWN AND CAUSE THE PILLAGERS TO RUN AWAY WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CONTEXT OR PRIOR TRAINING (albeit before they came back with the evoker and illusioner)

But we also don't talk about how much he assists everyone else. Like here. Green would have gone flying twice if Blue didn't have the presence of mind to brace him.

I saw a comment under the video calling Blue the MVP of the fight against Greenscreen. And while I do harbor the opinion that everyone contributed a lot to the win (and don't really agree with the comment, as Green, Yellow, Red, and Second contributed so much too), you can't deny that he assisted everyone frequently during the fight, and was a key part of success.

Blue's character arc is something we don't really talk about much as a fandom, but there are truly some moments which are, like, really cool.

And the most important one of all, of course.

There's also something else I noticed. Blue is shown to be able to keep track of a lot of things at the same time as well, like the positioning of his friends in a battle, and enhance them properly. He knows exactly what they need and can deliver it to them.

In the Witch, when he arms himself with potions and starts fighting, he has the presence of mind to turn his friends into animals that can stop the witch. For example, when Red is about to strike, he turns him into a golem for it to pack more punch. It's truly amazing, because he was able to pinpoint that that was about to happen before it did.

And even with himself, when the witch started shapeshifting, he did too. He knew exactly which mob would combat which, and he might have won if he hadn't run out.

ok i'm calmer now. I can't watch episode 1 in the original chinese version on bilibili because it's blocked in my country ARGH. idk if it's on crunchyroll because I don't have crunchyroll. so, I watched episode 1 twice, once in japanese and once in the english dub. I can mostly understand mandarin chinese, but not japanese, just to preface. -I enjoyed the dub more than the sub, actually! the voice actors did a fantastic job. both versions are amazing though.

-There's a lot of little bits of humor in it that I'm probably missing from the japanese version because all I can go off of are the subtitles. Which makes me really excited to rewatch once I can get my hands on the mandarin chinese version.

-the first episode is also very fast-paced and being able to process everything in a language I'm fluent in really helped! This is most apparent for me when- (SPOILERS FOR EP 1 BELOW THIS CUT.)

-Lin Ling is asked what happened when Nice jumped off in front of hm. The delivery hit me a lot better than just reading subtitles off the sub and I found it more realistic at the same time. his reaction when Nice dies was basically "wait, he can't be dead, can't he fly??" oh my god. poor guy

-EPISODE RUNDOWN, MORE THOROUGH (HUGE MASSIVE SPOILERS):

-NICE I MISJUDGED YOU MY CUTIE PIE POOKIE. OH MY GOD. I COMPLETELY AUIEHWGHUSHGH. okay, so basically "Nice" is actually office worker Lin Ling, an average joe who is a fan of Nice's girlfriend, Moon (she's like an idol), and write ad proposals for Nice and Moon's marketing team. he is forced to assume the identity of Nice after the original rank 10 hero kills himself by jumping off a building, and Lin Ling is 1. the only witness, and 2. looks exactly like Nice if you style his hair and dye it white. Nice's agency basically fakes Lin Ling's death and covers up the fact the og nice is dead to save their business. the episode consists of this guy truly assuming the identity of Nice. According to the laws of this world, and Trust Value, if people believe he Lin Ling is Nice, then he literally is. he can do everything that Nice can. his voice changes. his eye color changes. his hair is naturally white and his body is stronger and graceful. the episode ends on a cliffhanger when he is driven home to his floor on the Hero Tower. AHSHJHG.

-In this world, ordinary people can become a hero! or at least, that's the dream. most people are still normal.

-Villains are instead created with Fear Value, the opposite of Trust Value

-OH MY GOD I JUST REALIZED. Lin Ling isn't hijacking Nice's trust value but instead raising his own to replace Nice. theory: THAT'S WHY THE TOURNAMENT IS A BIG DEAL, because he doesn't know if it's the same as the OG Nice!!!

-Another theory is that him and X are not the same person, they just have insane parallels. I think it's a red herring. both are white haired, both have black hair in their "original" forms (although Nice's is permanently white now), both are office workers, Nice is the bottom ranked in the top ten being #10 while X is #1, etc.

Top five Fuffy fics (written by authors other than yourself)

Well, I'm not sure the restriction's necessary: I don't think I'm being unduly modest in saying there are a lot more than five Fuffy fics out there that are much better than anything I've ever written (or even come close to writing, frankly).

Uh. Limiting myself to one per author and to completed works only, and not trying to sort the top five in any way, without thinking about it too hard my top five would be:

To Live In The World by IvorySteel92. There are lots of Season 6 Fuffy fics, lots of which are really, really good, but this is the only one that made me cry twice, so it must be the best. Faith comes to Sunnydale after Buffy dies to try to do the right thing and take over as the Slayer, but then Buffy comes back to life. Only this time, unlike in canon, Buffy really does come back wrong...

Je me souviens by zulu. A classic, from all the way back in 2005. Again, there are lots of Season 4 Fuffy fics -- including at least one more that I love and that almost made this list -- but I don't see how I could not include this one. Faith wakes up from her coma, not knowing where she is, struggling to remember the fading details of a dream in which somebody she can't remember is chasing her with a knife. To the extent there is a single Fuffy fic any fan of the ship should be familiar with, I think this must be it.

147 Days by TigerDragon. Another relatively older fic -- this time from 2012 -- but one which doesn't seem to have gotten quite as much recognition as I think it deserves. It's part nine of a fourteen part series (starting all the way back in Season 3 and carrying on well past canon), but you don't really need to know much more than that this is -- technically -- canon-compliant, and that it covers the time Faith spends in prison while Buffy is dead. I think it's amazing and that far more people should read it.

Flowers For A Ghost / The Girl From Away by aliceinwonderbra. I'm cheating a little bit here, as these are technically two separate stories, though you could read them in either order and both have the same starting premise. Buffy wakes up in hospital surrounded by her friends after jumping into Glory's inter-dimensional portal to save Dawn. Only, she isn't waking up surrounded by exactly who she thinks she is. While the main reason I got into Fuffy a few years ago was rewatching Buffy during lockdown and finally having the pieces click, I genuinely think this series runs it a close second. I don't think I would have started writing anything Buffy related myself if -- having finished that rewatch -- I hadn't thought "huh, I wonder if anybody has ever written Faith/Buffy fanfiction?" and eventually stumbled onto these stories.

Body Language by explosionshark. As a rule, and despite my many complaints about Season 7 itself, I think Chosen was pretty close to the perfect way to end the show, which makes me a little wary of post-canon fics. But this one is so good it makes a mockery of any reservations I had: I cannot imagine a happier, more faithful-to-the-characters continuation to Buffy and Faith's story. (Oh, and as the tags make clear -- and as I think Faith would insist my previous description already strongly implies -- Buffy and Faith have a lot of sex in this one.)

When did you start watching? What got you into it?: i first started watching in 2013 during s8 because destiel was everywhere on tumblr and i was curious. i started for destiel but i got obsessed because of dean<3

How many times have you seen spn?: i have watched the entire thing start to finish twice. im just about in the middle of my 3rd complete rewatch. but before i watched the entire 15 seasons i had probably watched seasons 1-8 like 3-4 times, seasons 9-11 at least twice, and seasons 12-13 once. i had only watched part of s14 (half or maybe a little less?)

What do you like most about the fandom?: i love all of the people that i've met! i think if you curate your space and if you're kind, spnblr can be such a rewarding experience!! the people in this fandom are what make it so much fun to be a part of! also the fanworks! this fandom is blessed with theee most amazing and talented artists and editors and writers. and i love how the fandom has the most deep and thoughtful understanding and analysis of the characters & themes.

I no longer make YouTube vids discussing Lorcana news (no one watched them and they have zero rewatch value) so now I go to tumblr. We got a new set announcement! AZURITE SEA!

The vibe is PIRATES. So like Into the Inklands, but more so. No new mechanics revealed, though hopefully there will be something. We do have two new franchises, though! Big Hero 6:

Neat! Okay let's get into the cards that may actually see any play.

This may see play in Amber/Amethyst aggro decks, which are already running the Bodyguard Donald with the same ability. The Bodyguard is very useful for protecting high-lore low-stat squishies, but having twice as much of that ability is very very nice.

As we'll see in a bit, this is the first time we're seeing any sort of "milling" (discarding cards from decks) in Lorcana. I like this because it synergizes with Chernabog. I'm wondering if we'll be seeing more cards that jive with this archetype.

We've seen two each of Chip and Dale, and if we get more of them, there might be enough synergy for a "tribal" deck. If that happens, you will definitely want this guy, he's got great stats for his cost, and he's inkable! Unlike last set's Moana.

Not the worst thing. She survives Brawl, which is important. But she's definitely not surviving a challenge. Most Amethyst decks are never going to have fewer than 3 cards in hand, though, they already have so many other card draw tools. Honestly the most likely spot for her might be Amber/Amethyst aggro - drop her turn 4, your opponent is going to be focused on your squishies, and you get to refill your hand on turn 5.

So this is a weird one. There is an existing Emerald/Steel deck that wants to play A Whole New World a lot of times, and technically that's "milling" in that it's forcing your opponent to lose by running out of cards to draw, but now this is actual milling. But... it's only one card. This is going to need a lot more support for this to actually see any play at all.

This seems really good, and a much better payoff than the uninkable Robin Hood from last set ended up being. This could net you a lot of lore, and might be the start of an Emerald burn deck.

Speaking of Emerald burn, this is one of the best 1-drops I've ever seen. I want to combo this with floodborn Kida and some sort of Reckless.

Lorcana has been real hesitant to do tutoring to hand, but even just ensuring you topdeck, say, Lucky Dime, could be very useful.

This just seems like a solid overall card, aside from the Brawl vulnerability. Will we finally see an Inventors deck?

This is amazing. Ruby/Sapphire self-damage/heal deck. This may finally work where Grand Pabbie just didn't.

The card is "okay" at best but I love the flavor/art lol

That is a pretty easy condition to meet, and they don't even need to be exerted. Just have this in an Alien and/or Robot deck and have it passively spit out lore for you, shunting in a new character every turn.

Saving the best for last - JIMBO! Wow, what a card. Immune to Madame Medusa, and can draw you potentially four cards??? I would love to see an Amber Pirates deck (there's already the Piglet), particularly if we can get a cost reducer to get Jim here out earlier.

so i’ve been on my atla bs once again, and while rewatching today i got the lovely thought that azula reminded me of a specific kpop idol and spiraled from there. so. here’s my personal list of kpop idols as atla characters!!

- extremely hard workers who trained for years to get to where they are now

- every sapphic i know who’s seen atla had a crush on suki growing up and every sapphic loona stan i’ve met (which is most loona stans) has had a crush on heejin

- heejin’s lore in loonaverse is basically being a god and i personally equate that to suki

- LITERALLY THE REASON I THOUGHT OF THIS POST (specifically vision era hello???) LOOK AT HER

- siyeon is at the scene of the crime like 90% of the time something chaotic happens in dreamcatcher so i can fully imagine her cosplaying azula and running around with sparklers or something

- she’s also very good at looking evil in mvs so i think she could play azula

- that scene in the deja vu music video right before the last chorus when fire shoots up from behind her? she’s literally a firebender

- i know absolutely NOTHING about ateez aside from a couple of their title tracks but this man looks so much like siyeon i couldn’t resist

- idk i just feel like they’d be good at being the fire disaster siblings

- he also looks like he’d eat up the “the scar is not on the wrong side” line for some reason???

- was probably an angsty teenager at some point

- nobody can out femme either of these two

- cute extroverts who could also be deadly (like imagine x-file miyeon during boiling rock)

- i feel like ty lee would LOVE doing dance challenges with anyone and everyone

- i am fully aware that bibi isn’t an idol but i couldn’t resist

- she just gives the mai vibes honestly. you know that trope where the guard asks the character to hand over all of their weapons and just stands there and stares as said character pulls out knives from everywhere? that is both bibi and mai

- bibi is also the queen of every concept so i fully believe she could probably play the entire cast of atla in a chaotic one-woman show

Rewatching Ep 1-4 :)

First of all, I'm again amazed and amused by the fact that if they split into 2 groups and guys from one of them walked on their feet and just... didn't stop, they would finally reach civilization and call for help 😂 The road to this house is sentient, I swear, sometimes it's good and passable for a large car, sometimes it turns into some forest path where there is barely room for a scooter, oh, and there is also a conveniently collapsed bridge. Which other people know about, i.e. civilization AND HELP is not THAT FAR. 😭

How Phee gently holds White's hand while preparing for the filming. How does he treat him at all, how kind and caring he is. 🤔

Jin admitting he is a coward. 🤔

I wonder about the divine quality of the murderer(s) 😆 How mobile he is, how he appears often and in different places, twice he appeared in the way of boys running away on a SCOOTER (did he chase them through the forest? or does he just sit in the bushes and jump out when someone appears?), how strong he is - enough to lift Tee, or when he was hit several times in the back and head and it doesn't work on him. Same with his selectivity: he didn't finish off Por, he didn't kill Top even though he had the perfect opportunity, he killed Dang, he tried to kill Jin in the temple. And he never seems to sleep. And the fact that Top arrives on a scooter disguised as a murderer who previously attacked Tee and Tan who was then wearing black shoes and blue pants, while Top has white shoes and pants.

In deleted scene: Por counted 9 people on cctv.

Jin says that Non is alive, he just doesn't want to talk to them. 🤔 Tee and Top immediately assume it's his ghost, meaning that Non may be dead 🤔 Tee: If Non were alive, he would come to visit us, or at least he would come to Jin. Phee keeps insisting that the murderer is human. 🤔

Jin is genuinely worried about Por, he is shown comforting others, a voice of reason, a support for the group.

Phee's strange reactions: when Tee wants to leave Por and save himself, Phee is shown sitting frozen, looking at the floor. (Was that the case with Non? Was he left behind with wounds and maybe the reason he died was because no one helped him?). Or when Phee looks at Fluke strangely when he talks about leaving fingerprints on the dead body and an autopsy, and then he keeps looking at him when Fluke is visibly panicked. 🤔

Tan keeps directing the conversation towards Non, casually trying to bring out from the group what happened 3 years ago, until he loses control towards the end and DEMANDS to tell him what happened. Tan messes with Fluke's head, who only in this one scene with him, acts genuinely terrified of dying throughout the entire series, even his voice is different. Yet Tan also saw someone in the house and fought the murderer, too. What's interesting is that when the injured Tan comes back, he calls only Phee and Jin. 🤔

Now, as the first time, I'm impressed with how Tee treats White. I really can't doubt his feelings for White. His vile character, which we got to know in the flashbacks, came out in two scenes with White, when he scolds White for "not obeying" (although I have the impression that Tee is lashing out because he's panicking about filming a movie that triggers him) and when he runs away with Top (in in this scene he clearly succumbs to fear and peer pressure, they are in a frenzy in this scene. But the moment he sees the masked murderer he realizes that he left White and immediately returns).

It's interesting how Jin and Phee gravitate towards each other. I also think they are more compatible with each other than Phee and Non. And Jin can't lie to Phee and tells him the truth straight to his face, including the unpleasant one, which clearly pleases Phee.

It's also interesting how Phee and Tan often complement each other and "cooperate" wordlessly 🤔

The scooter doesn't start when Phee tries and starts immediately when the murderer sits down 🤔

Fluke is ready to worsen Por's condition, shoot Top and now hold everyone hostage (what's his plan again?), just so the truth about what happened 3 years ago doesn't come to light and just to save his precious reputation. Fluke is willing to do anything to save his bright future as a doctor. (It's very interesting how he looks at his bloody hands.) Just like the first time, I wonder about Fluke's extremely terrible behavior towards White, he is plain nasty, abusing him mentally, verbally and even physically, how often he tells him that Por may die because of him, he acts like a abusive parent with his: "can you do at least one thing right?", "you are so slow." What else struck me was the obvious fact that Fluke hates being a doctor, hates the patients, hates this job, complains when he has two patients, doesn't he know what it's like to work in a hospital? 😆Question: why does Fluke want to become a doctor, because it's definitely not his calling… 🤔 For his mom? For the money?

Jin's arm is dislocated AGAIN? What happened the first time?

Fluke to Tee: you killed a person. Tan immediately at Tee: 👀👀👀 I have the impression that Phee is working with Tan and that they just want to get confirmation of what happened first by scaring the boys. We see, for example, Tan unpacking the costume, which means he has access to it. And that is why the murderer did not kill Top - because he only wanted to freak him out (which worked, also Top's panic was contagious, also Tan is not there). Or maybe there never was a plan? Because actually everything looks quite random and accidental, they couldn't have known that Por would have a disk with the movie lying just there next to the TV (unless they already had this disk and placed it earlier), that he would let them play it, that the rest of the guys would agree to play in the new film. There's just too much randomness, dumb luck and unknowns here and the real (?) murderer is interfering with their plans.

I have a feeling that Non is either dead, missing, in a coma, or in a mental hospital and Phee and Non are trying to get information what happened. Although I wonder why they would wait 3 years for an answer, while being friends with the people who caused Non's downfall. Not to mention that Phee was sleeping with Jin and had quite an intimate and emotional relationship with him, and if he hooked up with him for revenge/spying, that would be quite a new level of sophistication and, well, being fucked up. And bit out of character for Phee, too I think. I have the impression that Phee and Tan are also shocked by what is happening, but I might be wrong.

I would say that Por's death was an accident that no one wanted (Phee, Tan and even the masked killer), if it weren't for that wire that decapitated Dang and the genuine attempt to attack Jin. Is this Non? Hmm, this would mean that Non's alive and in these three years he has either improved a lot and is able to carry out a complicated revenge plan, or his condition has gotten a lot worse and he is on a killing spree - at the same time being sane and balanced enough to carry it out successfully. (friendly reminder, that in slasher films, parents are also often the masked murderers - especially mothers..)

coachella weekend 2 day 2

we still here baby.

okay, the first thing on the list for tonight is ed sheeran. i’m not a regular when it comes to his music, he’s got a few songs that i like though. definitely interested to check out his set. i know he’s covering for fka twigs so the set time and stage had lots of people tripping out.

good thing yo gabba gabba is on the same stage, mojave, so i can stay right here on the stream. because there’s no way i wasn’t going to see yo gabba gabba again. i still had some of the most fun this entire two weekends of streaming watching yo gabba gabba and i stand by that wholeheartedly lmao.

i did realize they didn’t perform try it, you’ll like it and that made me sad. i am glad the mics are working much better this week. and the crowd is into it so that was awesome. thundercat’s song is so good.

rainbow connection was just as trippy as last week. weird al and portugal the man with dj lance, then i saw a carebear and flavor flav with thundercat’s bass and strawberry shortcake

and the fucking teletubbies.

i saw “aww” so loudly at one of the teletubbies hugging flavor flav twice. my heart???

i forgot about ed sheeran being at mojave because i went to the main stage and rewinded. i saw lady gaga and thought to myself im so glad that they kept the stream going pretty much all day so lots of people can enjoy the previous day’s sets much longer than last year.

oh my god at him using a looping machine. and it’s just him on stage! so much talent. especially ed giving a little tutorial lol. that was so cute. such a blast overall, happy bad habit was saved for last. ed did an amazing job.

charli xcx’s set is just as live as it was last week. loved how the message this week ended with it saying how about we give someone else their own shot at their version of brat summer, whatever that may be. as much as i’ll miss it, i respect the message. addison rae though………………………

also why were they showing enhypen during clairo’s set????? she was literally playing and they were showing them? what in the world lmao.

juna sounds just as good as the studio version. but then again clairo may have a hard time topping this song just in general for me personally.

enhypen were a lot of fun this week too. shout out to them for singing live.

it’s the next morning and i’m starting with green day again. i love the fact that flavor flav was on stage in the bunny suit lol. that girl was trying her hardest to get him off the stage lmao. he’s just there having a time and i’m glad he is. billie just knows how to work a crowd and it’s so much fun to see even at home.

i’m also really happy about the girl from the crowd he brought up to play the guitar. billie was fully like “this is your moment, have it” which was so cool for her. and she kept the guitar! what a time this set was.

i jammed to salute again before going to kaskade redux x idris. love idris elba and its the coolest thing to me that he took being a dj very serious. when actors go on side quests sometimes its really nice. jimmy eat world had lots of energy there and i stuck around to rewatch t-pain.

i did peak around at a few more sets before taking a break for tonight. all i know is when still woozy comes on i’m going to be seated. can’t wait.

Well, I have watched the movie twice, so here's my full review of Despicable Me 4!

MAJOR MAJOR SPOILER WARNING!

Man, I can't believe this huge wait is finally over. I'm gonna miss the excitement and anticipation, until something else in this franchise is announced I guess lol.

As for the movie itself, I dunno know where to start

DM4, as a concept, is perfect for this franchise. All the family going undercover and being placed into witness protection right after Gru and Lucy welcome a biological baby, and then taking on new identities? Think of the potential! How can this possibly go wrong!?

Well, when we then start incorporating Mega Minion scenes, and Poppy and her parents, and then following a villain alongside all of that. That's how it goes wrong.

All of the ideas for brilliant scenes following the family, developing the characters and expanding on them as people, are rushed through so fast that it felt like they barely even happened. Margo struggling to fit in? Over in a second. Gru and Lucy starting new jobs? Over in a second. Edith and Agnes causing mayhem in their karate class? Over in a second.

Don't get me wrong, these are all AMAZING scenes, especially that karate class one! But again, the chance to really explore these characters is squandered because it felt like the movie was glossing through all of it as fast as possible, just to fit in all the other aspects of this REALLY bloated plot. I enjoyed myself watching those scenes yes, but when I return to this movie in the future, I'm always gonna be left feeling like I just want MORE of them. I'm gonna wear them all out FAST 😅

I also have to be honest. I didn't like Poppy. I wish Illumination would stop pointlessly introducing new characters like her and instead just focus on the amazing ones they already have, especially when we had the baby introduced too. Why not just age Edith up a bit and then have her go on that school heist with him? Would've been more faithful to the franchise imo.

The Mega Minions were also COMPLETELY pointless. Why not just make an entire spin-off movie surrounding this concept? Then, it won't interfere with the pacing of a movie that's also trying to follow the family, a new villain, AND Poppy!

Then, there's the ending. Once again, the concept is AWESOME, the idea of all the past villains coming back that is. But the execution is just...what? Why the heck is Gru singing and being all buddy-buddy with the guy who just stole his baby and turned him into a human-cockroach hybrid, before trying to kill Gru and raise his child as his own? Like, that JUST happened? Excuse me!?

The final fight was also SUCH a mixed bag. In comparison to the past movies, this one doesn't even come close. Gru Junior revolting against Maxime after his dad says he loves him is adorable and a strong moment, but a lot of what leads up to and then follows that is kinda stupid. Didn't really get the same level of anxiety as I did watching DM1 or DM2, or even DM3 for that matter. I guess I just don't buy Maxime as a villain AT ALL.

All I'll say is, that karate class scene and the supermarket scene and the parts where the family are being moved into their new home are the true redeeming moments that save this movie. They're the only parts I'm excited to rewatch again and again and again. The karate scene especially, which reminds me...

Edith getting her own little subplot and attention put a gigantic smile on my face. This movie deserves MASSIVE credit for that, and I don't wanna understate how much I appreciated it! She's SUCH a fantastic character, and when she's given a chance to shine, she definitely✨SHINES✨!! It makes me crave a mini-movie centered around her even more. Out of the gorls, she's been the most ignored in recent times, and this one was an improvement from the last two movies in that regard, even if the gorls in general were still somewhat sidelined.

Speaking of those three, this movie completely neglected the idea of them being concerned that Gru and Lucy would start favoring Gru Jr. as their biological child, and then them both reassuring them otherwise and displaying how much they truly love them. It's a perfect idea that's RIGHT THERE.

This franchise desperately needs a TV series following the family. Like, DESPERATELY!!!

My favorite parts are Dennis being all feeble (the basketball scene! Curled up on the couch!).and Mac poisoning him 😭 it was such a perfect direction to take them in. I'm obsessed! Also ofc Mac carrying Dennis is top tier, esp when it's revealed he dropped him twice.

Not to mention how amazing all of their faces were when Frank choked 😭

SILENT HILL (2006) REWATCH

It has its good parts but it is also overall not very good. It is fun for what it is and worth watching at least once or twice in my case. Glad they made a movie of this amazing game franchise but wish they did a better job with it I guess we will have to see about the sequel...

Trigger warning bug like creatures, barbed wire assault

Our film starts out with screaming and running (we love a hectic beginning). Our little girl named Sharon has night terrors about a place called Silent Hill so her adoptive mother decides to take her there against her adoptive fathers will. The girls get into the worst fake car accident I've ever seen. Just a thud and the mom, Rose, is out cold. She wakes up and we are now in the fog and fallen ash that is indicative of Silent Hill and Sharon is nowhere to be seen. The first creatures Rose encounters are these little goblin children who are burning from the inside out, and oh, these things were a special kind of Hell. She tries to leave but there is a literal cliff edge on the end of town (talk about your video games with invisible walls). Silent Hill is closed down due to the coal fire still burning underground, the fumes would kill you (the online websites failed to mention that), this is all what the husband Chris finds out back in town. Though none of it matters because Rose needs to stay to find Sharon.

There is trouble with law enforcement so Rose is getting arrested in Silent Hill which is Goddamn hilarious when you think about it. Rose is handcuffed which is not great for her. Now, back in the real world Chris is looking for them and the police have found the empty car and know they are missing along with a deputy, what they don't know is that the folks they are looking for are right under their noses just in a different dimension kinda thing. Silent Hill, baby! Where sinners go to repent! They just don't know it yet! The cop tries to take Rose away but the road crumbles into another cliff. Shocked, the officer still refuses to remove Rose's cuffs. Then something terrifying that resembles a human being crossed with a straight jacket that spits acid comes around and Rose uses that distraction as an opportunity to run. She is still cuffed though so that sucks.

The alarm goes off and suddenly the decayed world around her finds a way to become even more decayed, like flesh peeling off the walls, it is pretty gross but also very obvious CGI. Rose has to run to get away from her violently changing environment and we finally meet the infamous Pyramid Head who is a buff, sword-swinging, delight. (Also, Chris can feel her even though he isn't on the same plane as her.) The cop comes and saves Rose, now the girls are in it together which is good because Pyramid Head is still there fucking with them and making things worse. He nearly knifes them with his big-ass knife and his little creepy crawlers are all around. He leaves for no apparent reason other than luck for the girls and Rose lies to the cop telling her that everything is going to be okay. They follow Sharon's clues from the school to the hotel then to the church.

Pyramid head appears again not much later and rips the skin off of a lady which was gnarly and awesome but somehow it makes the church super suspicious of Rose and the cop (yeah, like it's their fault). “I will pray for you, Rose, but I won't expect you and your friend to return. Bye. 👋” Also our cop friend's name is Cybil, not sure how I missed that. We love Cybil. Anyway, Cybil totally saves Rose's ass again because the church fanatics were gonna kill her but then Cybil gets her ass kicked in a big way. Rose makes it down to the basement to do her big basement quest and she meets up with the nurses who look so spooky and hot because that is the whole point of the nurses, they were made like that because the main bad bitch envied the beauty of her nurses but never got to know them, it's part of why they don't even get to have a faces. God, I love Silent Hill lore. Anyway, Rose barely escapes the nurses after having to crawl under them, it got intense but it was really cool.

So, the story of the little girl and who-birthed-who was a little convoluted but basically the little girl who everyone decided was a witch and burned became a witch because she was vulnerable to possession after being burned up badly. Now Sharon is at risk of possession because she is related to the original witch somehow. Then we have Cybil burning above the fire which was brutal and awful. What a way to go. Finally Rose arrives and brings with her “the darkness” which is really sort of the light, the main bad bitch destroys the church and those who had hurt her in the first place. Then she allows Rose and Sharon to leave the location but not Silent Hill, if you catch my drift. Rose is making her way home but they are still in the Silent Hill dimension, what with the fog and the ash. Chris waits for them on the correct side of things and can sense Rose is near but cannot see her. Credits.

My friend was pushing me to watch it for a while but I just couldn't find the time to watch it. And I was a bit apprehensive at the first episode but then- but then, they showed how he liked her firsttttt!!!!!!! And then it just kept getting better and better!!! Sun jae was just such a cutie and an absolute loserrr (affectionate) and then threw in some good angst 🥹😭😭 it was just amazing!!

ugh yes that scene!!!! byeon woo-seok did such a good job at portraying so much just through his eyes!! it’s years and decades and timelines of memories just fully pouring in all at once — all the feelings he couldn’t explain and the weird scenes he kept seeing and the dreams!! all of them finally making sense! every puzzle piece falling into place

and then he gets hit with the emotions - falling for sol for the first time, witnessing the first timeline where he doesn’t save her on time, where she hates him and doesn’t want to live

to then jumping to the next timeline where she’s hugging him out of nowhere and knows his name- to falling for her even more and more. to more timelines and more precious moments with his sol; to confessing once twice three times and finally getting that reciprocated. it’s just-

he’s been living his entire life (4th timeline) walking this earth not realising this precious thing he’s been missing out on…even tho deep down he’s known. something was missing, was somehow longing for something but he just didn’t know what

and suddenly it all makes sense!! because of course it’s sol!!! ofc it’s her. she’s the reason. she’s what’s been missing

and he’s happy he’s remembering and devastated he ever forgot and lived 34 years without her without her memories or presence or existence. he’s so conflicted and everything is a mess but all he does know is he needs to go to her immediately. he needs to find her and hold her and never let her go.

no but honestly this show has grabbed me like no other show has in a looooong time- i know what you mean by the rewatch hahah! i tried to delay it as much as possible (i lied to myself) thinking it would feel more like watching it for the first time..but i caved so quickly

So Fun fact the first iteration I watched was the 90s turtles on vhs, I rewatched them so many times on my mom's vhs tv. Alongside the 2007 movie on my tiny CD player (til my cousin broke it) I sadly lost the vhs tapes I had and I bought this at a swapmeet! the 3rd movie was my least favorite and I only watched it like once or twice. 1. Loki (Marvel)

My poor little meow meow. My silly rabbit. My sweet darling babygirl. Picking 9 other characters was honestly hard because there's few I truly consider a favourite like Loki. Between his 2011-2013 appearances in the MCU, the comics, and the pre-Thor high-fantasy-novel-esque fics on AO3, the ideal version of this character lives in my head rent free, and has done since 2012. I picked this gif from The Avengers because it was the moment that made me want to see the film again just for his scenes, and it remains the only film I've seen in cinemas twice. He's quite literally the reason I got Tumblr, for The Avengers fanart, and my very first post was some (bad) fanart of my own haha. While the rest of this list is in no particular order, Loki is absolutely my number one, for all time, always. I could talk about him forever.

2. Evy Carnahan (The Mummy)

I had to choose the scene I got my blog title from. While Loki might be my favourite character, The Mummy is my favourite film. I think I saw it at the exact right time of life when I was a kid in my Ancient Egypt phase, but also far younger than the recommended viewing age the film suggests lol. Ever since then I've rewatched this and the sequel (yes, sequel, singular. I said what I said) more times than I can count and further developed my interest in actual Egyptology. Evy is intelligent and an academic, kindhearted, a little bit clumsy, but uses her knowledge and quick thinking to be an absolute badass and save the day multiple times. I've always wanted to be at least half as cool as her and also marry Rick O'Connell.

3. L (Death Note)

Everyone here is lucky that I got Tumblr after the height of my weeb phase that started in 2008. Death Note was the first manga I ever read and I expected to enjoy it and move on, but as soon as I got to the Lind. L. Taylor event in volume 2 my young mind was blown and I was obsessed. One scene of L outsmarting Light kept me reading manga, got me into anime, introduced me to fanart, was the first fanart I ever drew, introduced me to fanfiction, and years later I would take Japanese classes at uni. L is an amazing example of a morally grey character, wanting justice to prevail but perhaps not for the right reasons, and no matter what it takes to get there.

4. Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil 4 Remake)

Okay I'll admit Leon is the first babygirl on the list who is mainly here for aesthetic reasons. I had a passing knowledge of the Resident Evil franchise but never took an interest because military-gun-shooting-series are boring as hell... Until RE4R came out last year and I saw this scene in a playthrough. Where do I sign up for him to do this to my neck. Then I learned Leon's backstory and actually appreciated his character too. He hates and distrusts the US government, he was blackmailed into service for them at 21, he's haunted by being used as their weapon, and he's the most cringe fail man who thinks he's suave when he says "Nighty night, knights" as he's killing sentient suits of armour. I need him.

5. Astarion Ancunín (Baldur's Gate 3)

Ah, a non-human in a high fantasy world, using knife skills and sharp wit to protect himself from a deeply traumatic past, but still good at heart and willing to open up to those who appreciate him for who he is, rather than living up to someone else's standards. Now where have I seen a similar character type before... When the game came out it shouldn't have been a surprise who my favourite would be lol. The whole cast does an amazing job, but the real draw of Astarion is the phenomenal work put in by Neil Newborn to really bring this character to life, and I don't think Astarion would be the same without him.

6. Kagome Higurashi (Inuyasha)

Inuyasha is one of my all time favourite anime/manga. It's got time travel, a historic setting, magic, action and adventure, and romance between a human girl and a supernatural being who's down bad. Basically all of the tropes I adore and still look for in new favourite series haha. And Kagome has been That Bitch from the start; arriving in a village that fears a half dog-demon, freeing him from his imprisonment to help her, and then ordering him to sit when he pisses her off, knowing he's wearing a magic necklace that forces him to obey. No one is doing it like her.

7. Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen)

Yes this is a basic bitch pick, I'm well aware. But no matter if it's the book by Jane Austen, the 1995 BBC production, or the 2005 film by Joe Wright, I love this story so much! There's just something so romantic about it that no modern romance book can capture, and that's not without my trying to find one (just follow my trail of 1 star ratings on Goodreads). Elizabeth and Mr Darcy just read as complete and real characters, and I love how much Elizabeth cares for her family, refusing Darcy's first proposal in part because he insulted them and tried to separate Jane from Mr Bingley.

8. Lin Sukai (The Drowning Empire Trilogy by Andrea Stewart)

Now we're getting into the realm of books without adaptations so I cant use gifs anymore, and I honestly couldn't find any fanart of Lin either. Which is a crime! My girl is out here being extremely intelligent and driven (and badass in some of the later scenes), using her familial magic as daughter of the Emperor to try and dismantle his tyranny despite craving his approval, and trying her best to gain allies even though she was raised within the walls of the palace and is slightly out of touch, and she doesn't have a fandom here on Tumblr? And that's only in book one of the trilogy!

9. FitzChivalry Farseer (The Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb)

I haven't even finished The Realm of the Elderlings yet (16 thick ass books, nay, tomes) but I already know this is my favourite fantasy series of all time, and Robin Hobb is beyond doubt a master of her craft. One of her main talents is writing the ultimate poor little meow meow because good lord, Fitz just cannot catch a break no matter what he does or who he's trying to benefit. The pacing of these books can be quite slow but I promise it's always worth the emotionally devastating pay off. (It's also a tough call between Fitz and The Fool on who my favourite Hobb character is!)

10. Sancia Grado (The Founders Trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett)

The final one is also my most recent addition to this list, seeing as I'm only just starting book two after finishing Foundryside late last year. While that shows how much I loved Sancia after just one book of her, I also hope the rest of the trilogy delivers! So often books will state characters are masters of their craft and just expect readers to take their word for it, but Sancia gets to show off her skills multiple times on page, so you get the impression she really exists and belongs in this world rather than just being a set piece for it. Not only that, she defies the usual lone-wolf-asshole stereotype that's so common in these gritty fantasy books, and it's heartwarming to see the found family she's gathered by the end of the story compared to where she began.

barcelonian grand prix ✩ 04.06.2023

so... i can't lie. there are a few races this season that just didn't stick around in my mind like many others, and this is the first one i unfortuntately don't have many personal memories with, except one or two. however, rewatching the race and quali highlights: this was NOT a boring race as many people say it is‼️‼️‼️ not the best race of the season by far, BUT, george russell saves the day by trying to be insane 😁😁😁💥💥 and if i dig deep enough, i will find some memories, rest assured!

this race week was the first one i watched while not being in uni 💕💕💕 i mean, i'm still enrolled, but summer break BABEY 🌞🌞🌞😁😁😁✨✨✨ which was incredibly perfect and fun!! i think i vaguely remember being quite hungover while watching this race... which LMAO of course i was. i was practically always tipsy during may-june (NOT in a toxic way in a very girl slay way actually 🍷🍷🍎🍎🌞🌞🌞👍👍👍) so that's good‼️‼️🥰🥰 i was also very very into fic-writing back then, i wrote my infamous p19 fic in this very race weekend (jeez i wonder why 😵😵😵😵💥💥💥)

all in all not a race i'd go back to to watch often, but with it being one of max's amazing grand slams, and with the mercs bringing some entertainment (though i am ALWAYS entertained enough by watching max's gap grow), it's definetely one i enjoyed revisiting 🌷🌷🌷 i feel like this race also represents me getting into the flow of race weekends, if that makes sense!! the novelty had worn off, the love had (and has) not 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕 that's how i know this is REALLY special 🥺🥺🥺
