What am I to you? (4/2016)

What am I to you? A good laugh? A good hug? A good talk? Someone to fall back on? Someone you know will lift you up and praise you? Someone to love and to touch when no one else will let you?

What am I to you? Because you are everything to me. A warm smile in the coldest nights. A friend who holds me when I can no longer stand. A love that I do not understand. A touch I miss. A boy I want nothing more than to just kiss.

What am I to you? Will you leave when the time comes? Will I never again see your face? Never again feel the warmth of your arms? Or the strength of your chest? Will we actually say goodbye? Will you let me love you one last night?

What am I to you? I often dream of a future for you and I. One filled with laughter and love and lust. But then I wake up to reality. To the reality of us. Where you're floating on a cloud of followers, and I am sitting back in the dust. Just wondering.

In my Mind?

I remember all those times in July, you and me at the park; holding hands, eating fries.

Summer school and sneaking over. Pillow fights in your room led to laying in your bed my head on your shoulder.

Said “you loved me and that I was pretty”.

Was it just in my mind like all of the nights I dreamed about us. In our prime it was finally our time, and you?

You were finally mine.

January, we were making plans with late night rants. Winter formal, prom, and grad night. It had been so long I thought he was going strong.

I still remember that whole night on February 4th. All those tears while telling my friends I wanted to die while screaming why.

To you it was all a lie. Told me that at some point your “love” for me died. You blocked me and never even read my goodbye.

I guess it was all in my mind?

I hate when I say things like "oh I want an ipod classic but with bluetooth so I can use wireless headphones" and some peanut comes in and replies with "so a smartphone with spotify?" No. I want a 160GB+ rectangular monstrosity where I can download every version of every song I want to it and it does nothing except play music and I don't need a data connection and don't have to pay a subscription to not have ads and don't have popups suggesting terrible AI playlists all over the menus.

The fact that people don't think friendship is enough to justify characters doing insane acts of love for each other baffles me. Like have you never loved your friend so so much you want to live in their ribcage. Have you never been really weird about a friend. Have you never wanted to bite your friends parents or shove them down a staircase. Have you never wanted to be buried in the same grave as a friend. Have u never. How do u people live like this.
