Man, it was great to hang out and make out with a friend last Saturday, but it HAS made me even more aware of how I basically always want to touch and be touched, and now, I know EXACTLY what I'm missing

desperate people find faith
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: your first mission ends with you in Jean's lab and a very worried Logan who's had trouble leaving your side wc: 2.0k a/n: thank you thank you so much for all of your very positive feedback on the previous fics with these two!!! I am really looking forward to writing more for them, so please feel free to send any requests for them my way, or Logan requests in general! And yes, the title is from a Taylor Swift song again. Lots of hurt/comfort in this one, talks of mushy gushy feelings, very worried Logan find the previous part here! all empath!reader fics here!
You took the cold table underneath you as a sign that something had gone wrong. You peaked one eye open before quickly squeezing it closed, the bright florescent lights too much to handle. You took a beat, trying to make sense of your surroundings.
You remembered the jet landing in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, you and Jean searching an abandoned building looking for the young mutant that Charles had promised would be there and coming up empty. The two of you had made your way back to the jet and.. shit. The kid had freaked, and you distinctly remember taking enough damage to warrant a swift retreat back to the school. You must be downstairs, in Jean’s lab. It’s probably a bad sign that the first thing you worry about how much shit Logan is going to give you for this.
You reached out with your power, too cautious of the lights (and the judgment of the rest of the team) to look with your eyes. A few people were mildly worried just across the room, but it was hard not to be distracted by the huge amounts of anger and exhaustion on your left. You debated facing him head on, being a grown up about it and fessing up to the fact that you were wrong. Thankfully, you could be immature when the situation called for it. You attempted to even out your breathing and smooth out the crease between your eyebrows, anything that could give you away.
“Sweetheart?” Logan’s voice is so much softer than you were expecting, based on the waves of pure fury currently radiating off of him.
You shush him, blinking one eye open. “I’m sleeping.” You whisper, letting your eye fall shut again.
You felt his hand gently brush over the top of your head. His voice is closer, air tickling your ear as he leans down beside you. “Been sleeping for three days, bub. Need you to wake up now.”
You turn your head to the side and are treated to Logan dropping a small kiss on your forehead. You can’t help but smile at the affection, eyes half open against the bright lights. After a few moments, they dim. Jean takes her place on the other side of the table, lab coat on and stethoscope in hand. You expected her to shoo Logan away in the name of a more thorough analysis but she doesn’t even attempt it.
Logan’s hand finds your own, gripping tight enough to be just short of uncomfortable. Jean makes quick work of taking your diagnostics, and gently informs you that besides feeling fatigued, you are just fine.
That can’t be right.
You know that you caught the brunt of the impact, it was beginning to come back to you. The young mutant had lashed out, and before you’d had the chance to get close, he’d sent a car flying towards you and Jean. She’d managed to counteract it with her own mutation, firmly shoving you out of the way. But she hadn’t been fast enough to catch the small metal spikes he’d also thrown. There was no way you should be ‘just fine’ by now.
Either Jean was in your head or the confusion was showing clearly on your face. She gave you a tight smile, eyes darting between you and the door. She took a few steps back, clearly intent of making her exit. “Jean, wait, there’s no way-”
She gave you her please stop talking smile. “I think it’s best if this comes from him,” she nodded at Logan, placing her stethoscope and clipboard on the side table. “I’ll be back in a bit to do one final check before we clear you.” She gives you another smile that didn’t meet her eyes, and then she was gone.
You began to sit up slowly, still in shock that there was little to no pain, only stiffness from being immobile for too long. “What is she talking about?” Logan huffed, supporting you with a hand on your back. “What’s going on?”
One hand made long, slow strokes up and down your spine, while the other had not loosened it’s grip on your own since you’d woken up. His eyebrows were scrunched together, the tell tale sign of his thinking face. You tried your best not to rush him, but everything about the situation was so confusing and your mind was racing. You were far too healed, and he was being far too calm for the anger that was rolling off go him, still.
“Didn’t expect me to just sit around when you came back one foot in the grave, did ya?”
“I’m sorry if me coming back banged up gave you extra work, I just don’t understand why you’re so upset with me.”
His eyes went wide, the hand on your back stilling. “I’m not mad at you, sweetheart.” The tremble in his voice almost had you convinced.
“Don’t lie to me about it,” you help up your hand, still firmly entwined with his. “I can tell.”
“I’m notmad at you, bub.” He brought the back of your hand to his lips, peppering it with kisses. “I’m mad at the little fuck who did this to you, I’m mad that they let this happen, and I’m furious with myself that I wasn’t there.”
“He’s just a kid, Logan.”
His shoulders shook with silent laughter, a stark white dancing at the edge of his emotions now. Shock. “You almost died, and your first instinct is to defend the little asshole responsible.”
You leaned forward, bumping your shoulder against his chest in warning. “I feel fine.” He nodded, taking a deep breath in through his nose while his hand not currently locked with yours resumed it’s path up and down your back. You let it go on for a few moments, appreciating the silence and the grounding effect of his touch. “Do you… wanna fill me in on why exactly that is?”
He sucked in a breath, shoulders visibly tense. “We were lucky that Hank was stopping by for a visit.” He played with your fingers, distracting himself. You tilted your head to the side, wondering why that information was important at a time like this. “When they brought you in, god there was so much blood. Jean managed to take care of a lot of it, but she didn’t know when, or uh, if you were going to wake up.” He blew out a breath, steadying himself. “You know that Hank has been asking for a long time-”
Both of your hands gripped his tightly. “Tell me you didn’t.”
Hank had been asking for ages to use some of Logan’s blood to synthesize a more advanced healing serum for the X-Men. It was rare they came back with more than bumps and bruises, but he was a worrier and felt that Logan was the key to making something truly effective. The only problem? Logan hated needles. You’d only gotten bits and pieces from him about why, but you had a hunch that when you were alive for as long as he had been, people were willing to poke and prod for some answers. He’d never admit it, but you had felt how terrified he was the last time he’d been down hard after a mission, and Jean had tried to give him an IV of fluids to speed up the regeneration. It hadn’t ended well, to say the least.
“I should’ve done it sooner. Seeing you like this, knowing I could have done something about it.” He shook his head, clearing his thoughts.
Cautiously, you fit yourself against him, arms tight around his neck and your chest flush with his own. You half expected him to reprimand you, to remind you that you should be careful, not to move too much. Instead, he held you tightly, the side of his face pressed against the top of your head. The two of you stayed like that for a good long while, reveling in the comfort of the other.
“I know you think that you only did it because,” you paused, steeling yourself. “Because it was me.” You can feel him trying to pull away, but you mold yourself to him even more tightly, knowing that if he really wanted to he could break away from you like it was nothing. “You’re wrong. You would have done this for anyone.”
“Except for-”
“Even for Scott.” You were quick to cut him off, unwilling to hear him being so harsh on himself.
You pulled back, just enough so that you were able to meet his eyes. You needed him to know that you are being earnest. “You are a good man, Logan. And before you even try to deny it or say I’m lying I know you can hear my heart beat. And I know you can tell when people are lying. And besides, I’ve never ever lied to you, have I?” He shakes his head slowly, one tear falling, and a few more after that. You reached up, brushing them away. He grabbed your hand, gently placing a kiss on your wrist, and then your palm.
“Y’scared me, sweetheart.” He murmured, voice muffled by your palm still against his lips. “Don’t ever do that again.”
You slide your hand to cup the side of his face, prompting him to meet your gaze. “You know I can’t guarantee that.” His eyes closed for a moment, and you knew he was doing his best not to shout. “I will always be careful, but I can’t stay back and leave the work to everyone else. If I can help, I’m gonna help.”
His eyes narrowed, the tiniest hint of a smirk playing at his lips. “Fine. But we’re getting you trained up and you aren’t going out there without me again for a good long while.”
You rolled your eyes, the both of you well aware there was no ill will behind it. “If you insist.”
“I absolutely do.” He pulled you back into his chest, keeping you there until Jean peaked her head in through the door.
“If you two are done being mushy, there are a few people who have been dying to see you.”
Ororo rushed into the room, playfully shoving Logan away to scoop you into her arms. She gently checked you over, ignoring the fact that you’d already had several medical professionals on the case. Scott clasped you on the shoulder, reassuring you that for a first mission, this was a success. You laughed before shooting Logan a look that begged him to let it pass. He huffed, but nodded all the same.
“Shocked we didn't have to keep him from trying to tear the kid apart, but he refused to leave the lab.” Scott nodded his head at Logan, who was continuing to shuffle closer to the table where you sat.
Well, you would be dutifully ignoring the latter half of Scott's quip, instead choosing to focus on the young mutant. “You mean he's?”
Scott smiled, nodding. “He’s settling in upstairs.”
You grinned, glad to know that it hadn’t all been for nothing. You fixed your gaze on Logan, narrowing your eyes at him. “Don’t even think about failing him out of history as some kind of weird revenge, I’ll know and I will find a way to get back at you for it.”
Your friends laughed around you, let you know that Charles has ordered in your favorite take out for dinner and started to filter out of the room. Eventually, you and Logan are left alone again, sitting side by side on the metal table.
“You still owe me an important conversation, ya know.” You bump your shoulder against his. You stay there, pressed against his side with your head leaning on his shoulders. His hand rests on your shoulder, holding you close.
“Maybe wait until you aren’t in a hospital gown, sweetheart.” You rolled your eyes, clearly aware that he was deflecting, but still content to take in his warmth and quiet support. You were safe, and you were home. Not just at school, but with him.

Unexpected Surprises
Summary: Logan x Fe!Reader -> Finding out your pregnant is one thing, having Logan know before you is another.
Disclaimer: Mostly fluff, descriptions of giving birth, Logan's senses are at their full power. He's also read the books. One swear word here and there. Not Proof Read.
Tumblr media
If someone had told you, even yesterday, that you would be sitting inside your bathroom with Logan sitting against your sink counter, waiting for a pregnancy test to show you a result he already knew…
You wouldn’t have believed them.
They could have been cursed to tell the truth their entire lives and you still wouldn’t have believed them.
Because it was baffling to you.
And it had all started because Logan - of all people - knew you were pregnant.
It had all started several weeks ago when you had met the team under the school inside Jean Grey’s lab. The others had been talking when you had arrived and slid in to stand beside Logan.
After a moment, he sniffed.
“What is it?”
“Have you changed your shower gel?”
You looked at him with a bewildered look. “No, why?”
“You smell different.”
“I don’t know how comfortable I am knowing you can smell me.” You said, looking up at him. You knew it was a part of his mutation; heightened senses, but it still caught you off guard every now and then.
Logan shrugged. “I can always smell you.”
From there, you both turned to find out why you’d been called down to the lab.
Over the next couple of weeks, Logan noticed a change in you.
You started napping.
For the average person, taking a nap in the middle of the day wasn’t unheard of. But for you, someone who practically lived off four to five hours a night of sleep, constantly running around the place doing things, unable to sit still long enough to even think about taking a nap….
It was unheard of.
First it had been in the living room on the sofa whilst the kids were either out or in their rooms before they’d get called for dinner. Then in the library, the hallway on the window seat bench, the kitchen. And Logan hadn’t been the only one to find you napping.
But he was the only one to move you from where you were and into your bedroom.
And each day your scent was getting stronger.
For the life of him he couldn’t put his finger on it. He had asked Jean about it but since you hadn’t come to her, or hadn’t seemed unlike your normal self, she didn’t see anything to worry about.
Maybe your body was just finally making you listen and telling you to rest.
But as of a week ago, you had been throwing up every meal you had. But you didn’t feel sick. Save for the twenty minutes before and after throwing up. Most of the time you felt hungry and nauseous at the same time.
Except, you’d kept the fact you kept puking to yourself. Until a morning meeting before classes were about to start.
“Excuse me, just a second-”
You just about managed to get out of the door and down the hallway before throwing up the toilet lid and emptying your breakfast back into the water.
Everyone looked around concerned and Jean was about to follow you when Logan caught her by the door. “Let me.”
Logan seemed to know something the others didn’t.
“Is she okay?”
Logan nodded, looking around before finding Charles. “She’s fine,” he replied, turning back to Jean.
“I’ll be back in a minute.”
Closing the door behind him, Logan found you in the staff bathroom, the door unlocked.
Knocking on, he heard you take a breath before flushing the toilet and putting the lid back down. He slowly entered before closing the door behind him and looking at you as you sat on the lid of the toilet seat.
“Here,” Logan grabbed a fresh flannel and ran it under the tap before handing it to you and crouching on the floor so he could see you.
“Thanks.” You took the flannel from him and placed it over your face, wiping it down before folding it over and running it down the back of your neck. “Two weeks. Two weeks and I can’t keep a meal down, but I feel normal.”
“There might be an explanation for that.”
Then you felt yourself starting to cry.
You never cried.
At least, Logan had never seen you cry.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. One minute I’m flushed and wanting to throw up my internal organs, the next I was to sleep for a decade and eat nothing but sugar. Maybe I’m coming onto my period.”
“You’re not.”
You threw the flannel into the sink before looking at Logan. “What?”
“You’re not coming onto your period. You’re pregnant, Y/n.”
“Excuse me?”
Logan sighed. “I can…smell it. Your hormonal changes. And it would explain the tiredness, and the puking your guts up every five seconds. And the emotions.”
You just stared at Logan. “What?”
“If you don’t believe me, take a test. Maybe I’m wrong-”
“You are.” You told him. “I can’t be pregnant. When would I have had-”
Logan raised an eyebrow at you as if to say, “You really don’t remember?”
You looked up, away from him and towards the door, doing the maths in your head.
“I can’t….no. No, I can’t be pregnant.”
“Look,” Logan began. “At least take a test. Just to be sure. I could be wrong…but I don’t think I am.”
The next day Logan drove you into the town and towards the local pharmacy.
Sitting out in the car, you unbuckled your seat belt and looked at the door before turning to Logan. “Will you come in with me?”
And he did. Without question.
Spending a few minutes searching for the tests, Logan found them and handed one over to you. “Can tell as early as…” He read the box. “Five weeks.”
You nodded before looking back at the shelf, grabbing a different box of a different brand, just to be safe. At the counter, the cashier rang up both boxes for you. Neither you or Logan missed the light smile on her face as she looked between the two of you. However, the cashier missed the slightly awkward shift from Logan as he realised what she was doing and he somehow moved both closer to you and away from you at the same time.
“That’ll be seven, ninety five.”
You handed over a ten dollar bill and collected your change. Both yourself and Logan thanked her before shuffling away from the counter, Logan looking behind him as he opened up the door for you, finding the cashier smiling and waving you out.
By the time you both got home, you found a note on the desk in the hallway from Xavier. They had taken the kids out on a school trip to the museum. They should be back by dinner.
So that left you and Logan alone to stand inside your bathroom, avoiding looking at the two tests on the counter.
“I still think it’s weird you can smell the change.” You said out loud, sat on the toilet seat, your hands interlocked with each other. “I mean…what does it even smell like?”
You unlocked your hands and pressed them between your knees, turning to look up at him as he leaned against your sink counter.
Logan seemed a little out of it, his head somewhere else for a moment as his eyes remained fixed on the skirting board whilst he brushed a hand repeatedly across his face.
“Huh?” He snapped out of it, brushing his face one last time before moving his hands so they were against the cold counter before crossing his feet and crossing his arms once more. “Oh, uh, I don’t know, It’s just different.”
“Like a bad different?” You asked.
“Just…stronger, I guess. Why do you even want to know? I thought you found it weird?”
You nodded. “I do. But you can’t tell me you’ve got questions for things you find weird.”
Logan looked at you. “What? Like your ability to watch a serial killer documentary before you go to bed, yet you won’t watch horror movies?”
“I knew you found that weird!”
Logan nodded. “That’s because it is. Scott isn’t allowed near you in the month of October because you said he watches too many scary movies.”
“I can see it in his aura. Being near Scott in the month of October is like putting you next to a magnet and hoping you don’t get stuck to it. Horror movies scare me any time of year, it’s just stronger in October. And Scott watches too many.”
“Who knew the woman who used to work for the FBI, doesn’t like horror movies?”
“Technically, I worked in the labs. Not the field.”
“Still. FBI that’s afraid of a couple jumpscares on a set full of actors. Kind of ironic if you ask me.”
“Oh, please.” You replied, turned back to looking at the door. “You’re just as scared of them. Don’t think I didn’t spot the claw shaped holes in the pillow from last Halloween.”
From the corner of your eye, you saw Logan squirm.
“How long is left on this thing anyway?”
You looked at your phone. “Twenty seconds.”
You both watched as the timer went off before looking at each other. “Ready?”
It took you a second, but you finally nodded and Logan stood back up straight. As did you before pulling the face down tests from the counter.
Logan stood behind you, his hand absentmindedly coming to your hip as he looked over your shoulder. You closed your eyes before turning them round and took another second before finally opening them.
It felt like the wind had been knocked out of you.
Two lines.
Both tests.
Two, vibrant, clear from space, lines.
And despite him being the first to know, everything suddenly felt a lot more real for Logan.
“Oh my god,” you breathed out before you felt yourself starting to cry again. “Oh my god.”
You looked at Logan through the mirror before turning around and his arms wrapped themselves around you as you stood on your tiptoes to bury your face into his neck.
“What do you need? Tell me what you need.”
You set yourself back on your feet, your eyes locked on Logan’s chest. “Sleep? I think.”
Logan smiled a little and brushed the hair out of your face, kissing your forehead. “Okay.”
“Logan?”
“Yeah?”
“Will you…” The question disappeared. “Stay with me.”
With his eyes fixed on yours, Logan nodded.
Laying down beside you, his arms wrapped around you whilst your legs tangled with his. And for a moment, he was transported back almost nine weeks ago when you and him had finally crossed the one line you both swore you’d never cross with each other, in a motel room, just off the highway leading back into New York.
Neither of you woke up until a few hours later where you found yourself lay on your side, Logan’s arm around your middle with his hand gently pressed to your belly, whilst he remained behind you, a little more on his front, his face half buried in his pillow.
Having felt you move, Logan stirred awake for a moment to fully turn onto his side. But you just kept looking at him.
Just like you had done almost ten weeks ago when you watched the sunlight that was beginning to peek through the curtains that never just quite shut all the way, dance across his bed-ridden hair and over the muscles in his back, ghosting over where the sheet was draped over his bottom half.
And just like then, you brushed a few of the stray hairs from his face, watching his too tired muscles unable to fight off the smile on his face whilst his hand came up and held yours against him for a moment before he kissed the centre of your palm.
“What time is it?”
“A little after four…I think. I don’t think the others are back yet.”
“I think we’d know if they were.” Logan joked a little before gazing at you. “How are you feeling?”
“Better, I think. A little less sick.”
“Good.”
You nodded for a moment before looking back at Logan. “I think I want to do this.”
Logan gave you a questioning look for a moment. “Are you sure?”
You nodded. “I’m sure. If you don’t want to-”
“I want to.”
It wasn’t ever a second thought for Logan when he had come to terms with you being pregnant, as well as him being the first to know. He would have supported any decision you made, but he couldn’t help but feel a little more than happy when you confirmed his question.
He had been in love with you ever since you had splattered midnight spaghetti sauce on your face from when you had slurped spaghetti. He had chuckled and wiped a spot from your chin with his thumb.
Of course, he wasn’t blind.
He had always found you attractive since he first met you, but becoming your friend and falling in love with you two years later over a bowl of spaghetti as you graded papers…that was something he could have only ever dreamed of.
That night, he thought about kissing you. But promised himself he wouldn’t. He couldn’t. You were both friends.
And when you both almost kissed after having stepped into him whilst you were both outside looking for logs to put on the fire pit outside, he had a strong feeling you felt what he was feeling, too.
But fear…stopped you both.
And Rogue’s voice from shouting for you both since you’d both been gone ten minutes longer than you had planned.
But that night in the motel room.
Neither of you could deny it anymore. And there was no one around to interrupt.
Maybe both of you wished it had happened a lot more smoothly. But neither of you could deny you weren’t not happy about what had happened.
“You want to?” You rallied his words back to him, trying not to smile too much.
Logan nodded. “I want to.”
“Good.”
“Good.”
“One thing,” you said. “What do we tell the others?”
“You didn’t tell anyone what happened?”
You shook your head. “No. Work kinda got in the way.”
Which it did. A few hours after the motel, you had both gotten a call to get back to the school as quickly as you could. And work got too busy, neither you or Logan had time to talk about what happened and before you both knew it, it got too late to mention it again.
“Did you?”
Logan shook his head. “No.”
“This is gonna be a shock to their system.”
You nodded in agreement. “Maybe we don’t tell them so soon. At least wait until the twelve week scan.”
“Agreed. Accept-”
“Jean’s got to know.”
Logan nodded and clicked his teeth.
“But we can trust her. Maybe we’ll just have to corner her in her lab before she and Scott have lunch together.”
Logan nodded. “Good idea. Does the lab even have a sonogram machine?”
You reeled back a little. “Logan…”
“What? I might have…read…a couple of books.”
You could help but smile. “You read books? On pregnancy?”
Logan shrugged, once again trying to hide his smile. “Had to know if I was right about you being pregnant. And if I was, I wanted to know…what to expect. Just because I’m nearly 200 years old doesn’t mean I know what I’m doing.”
“And the entire world takes a sigh of relief. Even the oldest man in the world doesn't know what he’s doing. Maybe we don’t have to have it all figured out right now.”
Logan smiled, his hand pressing gently against the bottom of your back, pulling you closer to him. “Maybe we don’t.”
“But we’re gonna do this together?”
Logan gave you a nod and smiled. “We’re gonna do this together.”
By the time the others got back, Logan was on cooking duty since the smell of everything was sending you into waves of sickness once again, until Logan handed you a small bag of sweets with a couple of pretzels inside that helped curb your cravings and settled the sickness.
And, just like you had said, you found Jean in her lab just a little after Scott had left and told her what she needed to know.
Within moments she had you lay on the examination table and Logan wheeled a chair over to be by your side whilst she scanned your stomach to find your uterus.
“Have to say, you two took your time.”
“Huh?”
Jean smiled. “Rogue was sure something had happened that night at the firepit when she went to find you two. When she finds out she’s gonna be thrilled something did finally happen.”
You and Logan looked at each other. “Other than Rogue…how many people think that…”
“You two would finally stop being idiots and do something about it?” Jean clicked a couple of buttons on the monitor. “Everyone.”
“Everyone?!”
Jean smiled. “Yep. And now they’re gonna be thrilled. Take a look.”
Jean explained what you were looking at. “See, here their head, and their feet. They look pretty comfortable there, tucked up nice and cosy.”
Jean did a couple other things whilst you and Logan looked at the screen, Logan’s hand taking yours in his before he kissed your palm again.
“Wow…she’s so small.”
You looked at Logan with a smile, and tears in your eyes. “What makes you so certain it's a girl?”
Logan shrugged. “I just do.”
Squeezing his hand, you smiled and looked back at the monitor.
“I’d put you at about a little over nine weeks. We should be able to hear a heartbeat.”
You looked a little shocked, not expecting to hear a heartbeat so soon. But Jean found it and…you breathed. Or maybe you held it. You weren’t quite sure.
“Stay still,” Jean laughed a little.
“Sorry,” you apologised.
Logan held onto your hand, tears forming in his own eyes. But for two reasons. One; finally being close to you, seeing your baby and hearing their heartbeat. And two; the small thumping Logan had heard every time he was around you, almost like an echo of your own – or maybe his – had been your baby.
The baby you were having together.
He had been hearing their heartbeat for almost a week.
“Logan…that’s our baby.”
There was no stopping his smile. “That’s our baby.”
With his other hand at the back of your head, his thumb making familiar strokes back and forth, he kissed you and you squeezed his hand a little tighter, never wanting to let go.
“I’ll set this recording for you and print off a couple of pictures. Congratulations guys. You’ve got a very healthy baby.”
Jean did as she said she would and by the time you were clean of the gel and sat back up with Logan standing by your side, Jean gave you a couple of information booklets.
“I think Logan’s already got most of it covered,” you said with a smile, catching his slightly sheepish look. “But thank you.”
Jean hugged both of you. “Congrats guys, and don’t worry. They won’t hear anything from me.”
You smiled. “Thank you.”
By the time you both got back to your room, you had one picture, as did Logan however the third one, Logan kept looking at.
Without saying anything, you both came to an agreement and it wasn’t long before you found who you were looking for.
Closing the library door, you checked all the spaces before confirming both yourself, Logan and Rogue were alone.
“What’s going on?”
Coming to a stand, Rogue stood in front of Logan and you rounded the table to stand beside him.
He held out the picture. “We wanted to give you this. Figured you should be the first to know…apart from Jean.”
Rogue took the photo in her hands from Logan, it taking a minute before it all finally clicked in her head and confirmed what she was looking at.
Baby Y/L/N HOWLETT printed in bold white ink in the corner.
Rogue burst into a smile and let out a small laugh before hugging both of you quickly. “Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god!”
“But you can’t tell anyone.” Logan told her. “At least not yet.”
Rogue shook her head. “I-I won’t. I promise. Oh my god!”
She hugged you both again before stepping back.
“I knew something was going on between you two! Congrats, guys! Oh, my god! This is just…incredible. Insane.” Then she calmed down for a moment. “Thank you for telling me.”
Logan shrugged. “Figured the kid’s Aunt would want to know first.”
Rogue smiled even brighter and then looked down at the picture lovingly. “When do you find out the gender?”
“In a couple of weeks,” you smiled, holding onto Logan’s hand and arm. “But he thinks it’s a girl.”
“You do?” Rogue asked, with a smile still prominent on her face. “You two are gonna make the best parents.”
“Thank you.”
“Thanks, Kid.”
And she was right.
As was Logan when, only a few weeks later, Jean confirmed that you both were in fact going to be the proud parents of a baby girl.
And by the time it came round to you giving birth, you may have bruised Logan’s hand as well as scared Scott into never watching a horror movie where a woman gives birth, ever again.
Bobby had been the first to find you when you went into labour. You were hunched over the counter in the kitchen, holding onto your belly.
“Y/n, are you okay?”
You managed to shake your head. “No.”
Then your waters broke.
“Oh, uh, okay. Okay. Rogue!”
Practically sliding around the door, Rogue saw what was happening. “Oh, crap. Okay. Bobby, go and find Logan.”
“Do you know where he is?”
“He’s…” you grunted through the pain. Jean had warned you that having a baby with one mutant parent might speed things along, but two?
As you had gathered from Jean’s easy let down…
You were fucked.
“Ugh.” You grunted. “He’s…he’s out in the gardens…they had trouble…ahh…they had trouble moving…”
“Just breathe.” Rogue assured you. “Bobby, go.”
And he did.
“Okay, we’re gonna get you downstairs. I’ll call Jean.”
Twenty minutes later, Jean was back from her store run and rushed inside the school only to nearly collide into Logan.
“Where is she? I can’t find her.”
“Rogue helped her down to the lab.”
When Jean and Logan finally ran inside, they found you bracing yourself on the bed as Rogue rubbed up and down your back and you felt the pain kick up a notch.
“They’re here! They’re here. Logan.”
Logan was already on it, replacing Rogue’s hand with his own in yours. “Where the hell were you?”
“I could ask you the same thing.”
“How’s your pain?” Jean asked, walking back inside in her scrubs.
“Ever been kicked by a horse in your pelvis?”
Another contraction started up and as you held onto Logan’s hand, you braced yourself on his other arm.
Jean gave a hidden laugh from your comment and started setting everything up.
“Just tell me when the pain stops and we can get you moved onto the bed.”
It took a moment but eventually it slowed and, with Logan’s help, you got into the hospital bed and Jean checked you over.
It was a few more hours before you were ready to push.
“No, I can’t. It hurts.”
“Just a few more pushes. Come on, you can do it.”
Logan held onto your hand whilst his other arm supported you around your shoulders and back. “You can do it. Just a couple more and it’ll be over.”
You groaned. “Why can’t we be seahorses? The males have to push and they’re only pregnant for ten days.”
Logan could help but laugh a little. “We can always get Chuck to come down and narrate this. He’s no David Attenbourogh but he is English.”
“Oh, shut up.” You laughed a little. “Don’t make me laugh. I’m in enough pain as it is.”
Another contraction started up and you began to push again.
“That’s it! Good…just a little longer.”
Fifteen minutes later the room was filled with the cries of a newborn baby girl and you felt yourself cry a sigh of relief, joy and worry.
“You did it, honey.” Logan kissed your temple. “You did it.”
“Where is she? Is she okay?”
Jean smiled and nodded. “She’s perfect. Dad? Want to do the honours?”
Logan kissed you and walked over towards Jean, his hands trailing away from yours before reaching for the scissors Jean handed him.
Cutting the cord, Jean hurried to weigh and measure your daughter as quickly as she could before handing her over to you for skin to skin contact.
“Oh my god, she’s beautiful.”
Logan was crying tears of happiness. “She looks just like her Momma.”
“Congrats, you guys.”
“Thank you.”
You couldn’t take your eyes off of her. She was…everything.
Logan sat beside you on the bed, his arm above your head and the other around both of you. He saw you in her, but you saw him.
“You guys picked a name yet?” Jean asked, standing on the other side of the bed, the camera by her side from where she’s taken a couple of photos already.
Both yourself and Logan had been quiet about the names you had picked.
“We haven’t decided yet.” Logan told her, his eyes never leaving his daughter.
“But whatever it is, Marie is going to be her middle name.”
Jean smiled and took yet another picture. Everyone had been waiting years for this moment, for you and Logan to finally get together, for you both finally to realise you were both always meant to be, even before either of you knew it.
They were going to want pictures to keep forever of this moment.
As were you two.
And the ones Jean took were just the first of many to be taken, from everyone holding her beside you and Logan, to the big family photo with her in Logan’s arms, to the one you would always keep by your bedside of Logan holding his daughter for the first time. To birthday’s, Christmases, Easter, family dinners, first steps, first words.
The others that made a small collection in your memory box for her, where she’s learning to walk, holding onto Logan’s fingers, climbing up her dad and going over his shoulder, finding easter eggs with Logan and Rogue, sitting in Xavier’s lap at his desk, learning to bake for the first time – a picture you didn’t know existed until you found it in the small box Logan had been keeping. He had taken the picture of you and her when you weren’t looking and had multiple copies.
There was a picture of every moment and every memory that both of you would always treasure forever.
And even when the sleepless nights felt endless, neither of you wanted to change it for the world.

Healing Touch | Chapter 5: Return Home
Tumblr media
Chapter summary: You and Logan travel to Alberta in search for some answers as he slowly regains his memory.
Masterlist
This chapter contains a lot of Logan’s origin story, but it’s more based on the comic than the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
7K words… who am I?
It’s been a few busy weeks to say the least.
After you and Logan agreed on working on his trauma together, you started having small sessions at night where you would use your power on him. In each session you placed your hands on each side of his head while he laid down on the lab’s bed and started healing his amnesia. You worked slowly, not wanting to trigger any bad memory without warning.
There was only so much you could do, and there was no guarantee any of it would work. Your powers only worked on a physical level, meaning you could heal parts of Logan’s brain that didn’t heal on their own, despite his enhanced healing. But Charles saw this as an opportunity to train and even expand your powers, hoping that in time you would be able to heal the emotional type of wounds, or be the one to caused them.
Fragments of Logan’s memories began to resurface, scattered and incomplete, like pieces of a puzzle he wasn’t sure how to assemble. He remembered his parents: his mother, Elizabeth, and the man he believed to be his father, John Howlett. He could recall the house he’d grown up in, the details hazy but still familiar. He even knew his name wasn’t really Logan. But that was where the trail ended.
What had happened to them? How had he discovered his mutation? The answers felt just out of reach, buried beneath layers of fog he couldn’t penetrate, no matter how hard you tried.
In search of more answers, you started planning your trip to his childhood home: Howlett Estate. You would take a flight to Lloydminster and then drive for two hours to Cold Lake. Originally you suggested taking a smaller plane from Lloydminster to Cold Lake’s regional airport, but took pity on Logan’s distaste for flying and decided to rent a car instead.
You knew this would be hard on Logan, facing his memories and old traumas wasn’t easy, so you wanted to make sure this was a pleasant trip.
Coincidently, the trip took place during Jean and Scott’s wedding, so Logan wouldn’t be in the mansion during that time. Hopefully this trip would also help you rebuild your trust in Logan. Despite reassuring him over and over again that you’d forgiven him already, your friendship changed and required a lot of care to go back to how it was before.
The day of the flight you had maps, flyers and all kinds of accessories for your trip, and you had a blast going from one place to the other in the airport, getting lots of snacks and things to pass the time. Logan was never too far behind, following you around and indulging on anything you wanted.
Despite his nervousness, Logan enjoyed seeing you so excited and bubbly, but most importantly, so relaxed around him. He worried your friendship was ruined when he first hurt you but you were slowly building the trust back up.
It was only after you landed at Lloydminster and got in the rental that the real fun started.
“I booked the cutest, cosiest looking Bed & Breakfast I could find, it’s adorable.” You said as you entered the address to the GPS. Logan groaned from the driver’s seat.
“I’m regretting this already.” He joked. “You know what? I take that back, I regretted this the moment you gave me a plane ticket.”
You laughed.
“Oh come on! It wasn’t so bad! I took your nausea away, didn’t I?”
His frown deepened.
“I still don’t like flying. If men were meant to fly, we would be born with wings.”
“Good thing I’m not a man.” You joked. “Be glad I got us a car instead of another flight for this part. Just drive, old man.” You said before opening a bag of snacks.
“Old man? Fuck off.”
You giggled.
“Aren’t you like a thousand years?”
Logan scoffed.
“...No.” He said after an awkward silence. “Your math is off. Also, don’t eat in the car, you’ll leave crumbs all over.”
You giggled again, and despite his grumpiness, Logan smiled.
“Whatever you say, grandpa.”
“Fuck you!” He said, but there was no malice in his voice. You just looked at him and took another bite of your snack.
“I’m hungry!” You said as an excuse. “Do you want some?”
“Nah, I’m fine. I don’t like candy.” He said, throwing you a look.
“Who the hell doesn’t like candy?” You asked dramatically “I think I have some Sour Patch kids around here, you’ll like them.” You said as you looked through your back.
“What makes you say that?”
“Because… your face looks like you’re constantly sucking a lemon.” Logan turned his head to look at you in disbelief. “Hey! Eyes on the road!”
“What do you mean I look like I’m sucking a lemon?” He asked confused.
“You know…” You pursed your lips, frowned your brow and raised your shoulders, trying to give your best impression of Logan. “Like you’re sulking.”
“I don’t sulk.” He said.
“Right… And I don’t cry while watching The Notebook. Are we just telling lies now?”
“Just give me that.” He snatched the bag of sour candy from your hand. “You’re terrible, you know that?”
“Yes, but you love me anyway.” You smiled and Logan just shook his head in defeat before pouring some candy straight into his mouth.
The ride was filled with banter and jokes. Seeing Logan so relaxed and somewhat happy made your heart flutter. You had never seen him like this, and you hoped it would last.
Watching him drive with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a relaxed smile on his face also did things to you. He looked so handsome, you would try to steal glances every once in a while.
When you finally arrived at the B&B you squealed in delight and jumped out of the car. The building had a “cabin in the woods” feel to it, but much bigger in dimensions, and it was surrounded by a large garden.
“It’s perfect! Just like in the photos! Isn’t it lovely?”
“It looks like a flower shop threw up on it.”
“Ew.” Your face quickly dropped. “Just because of that, you’re carrying the suitcases while I check us in.” You said before stomping towards the door.
“I was carrying the suitcases anyway!” Logan grumbled.
He took the suitcases and quickly caught up with you as you made your way to the reception. There you were welcomed by a sweet looking old lady.
“Welcome! You must be the honeymooners, the Wyatts!” She greeted them.
You quickly shook your head, your belly filling with butterflies at the idea of the two of you looking like newlyweds.
“Oh no, we’re not together. I mean, we’re together, but not together-together… We’re not married!” You tried to explain awkwardly while Logan tried not to laugh. “We booked two bedrooms under the name Howlett.” You said, your face growing hot.
“Yeah, we book two rooms in case the first bed breaks.” Logan joked, making you open your eyes so widely he thought they would pop out of your head.
“Logan!” You hissed and slapped his chest. Logan simply smiled and winked at you. Any other time you would be giggling like crazy at the idea of Logan and you breaking a bed, but you weren’t alone. The lady looked back and forth between the two of you before handing you two keys.
“You have room 13 and 14, they’re down that hall, across from each other. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 in the dining room.”
You took the keys and nodded your head.
“Thank you ma’am.” you said before walking away fast, your face warm.
Your room was beautiful. It was tastefully decorated, had flowers on pretty much every surface, and the bed looked very cozy. You jumped on the mattress while Logan put your suitcase down.
“Comfortable?” He asked.
“Mhmmm.” You were barely audible with your face squished against the covers. Logan chuckled.
You felt the bed dip and raised your head to see Logan sitting down on the foot of the bed. He looked like there was something he wanted to say, so you sat up on the bed to give him your full attention.
“So, um… Listen,” He cleared his throat. “I just wanted to say… I appreciate everything you’re doing for me. You didn’t have to do any of this, but you did, and I wanted to say thank you.”
You smiled shyly. Logan wasn’t a man of many words, so when he opened up like this you made sure to appreciate it and soak into the moment.
“Nothing to thank me for. Helping people is what I do, it’s what I love. Maybe I never realized there are other ways I can help other than using my powers.” You shrugged. “I guess I never had a friend that mattered to me as much as you do.” You said with a certain vulnerability in your voice. Of course you left out the part of you being completely, utterly in love with him.
The admission took Logan by surprise. How could you, a sweet, selfless, beautiful woman not be surrounded by people you loved and loved you back.
“Why?” He asked. You tilted your head and frowned.
“Why, what?”
“Why me?” He shook his head, confused. “Not only I didn’t do anything to earn your friendship, but I also hurt you. You could have so many friends, so many people, why did you stick with me?”
You stared at him for a moment in shock.
“What do you mean you didn’t do anything to earn my friendship? You’re the first friend I made at the mansion.”
“That’s it?” Logan scoffed.
“For starters.” You placed your hand on top of his and gave him a reassuring squeeze. “Logan, you earned my friendship with respect and support. Most friendships don’t start with great gestures, they start with kind words, spending time together, showing kindness. My first morning there I was nervous but you told me I would be okay. Words matter, Logan. And I knew I wanted you officially in my life the day you took me to the hospital to help. Remember?”
Logan looked down at your hands together and nodded.
“I remember thinking I had never seen anything like it. Not only you healed those kids, but the relief their parents must’ve felt…” He said softly. “And you never cared about people giving you credit…”
You chuckled.
“It’s better that way.” You shrugged. “I also knew we would be friends when you started training me. You didn’t think I would be useless on the battlefield just because I don’t have fighting skills. I appreciated that, I appreciated you having faith in me.”
Logan rolled his eyes.
“I couldn’t have you running around trying to save everyone but not knowing how to protect yourself.” He said teasingly.
“I would’ve been okay. I can heal, remember?”
“Just because you can heal doesn’t mean you should allow yourself to get hurt in the first place.” Logan whispered.
Those words touched you deeply. Without even thinking you leaned in and kissed his cheek. Logan blinked and looked anywhere but you, the tips of his ear turning red.
“I think that’s the sweetest thing you ever said to me. Thank you.” You whispered.
Logan cleared his throat and got up, dropping your hand in the process.
“Right. Of course. Anyway, we have a big day tomorrow, right?” He rubbed his palms on his jean-clad thighs, looking awkward as hell. You nodded your head.
“Meet me at 9 for breakfast and we’ll head to the Howlett Estate afterwards.” you said.
“Aye Captain!” He picked his suitcase on his way to the door and turned to look at you. He looked like he wanted to say something again, but this time he just pressed his lips into a thin line.
“Good night, Logan.” you said after a moment.
“Good night, sweetheart. I’ll see you in the morning.” he winked at you and walked out.
-
Logan was used to sleepless nights, but tonight felt different. His mind kept drifting to you, no matter how hard he tried to push the thoughts away. At one point, he got up, rummaging through his jacket until he found his lighter. The one you’d given him. He turned it over in his hand, his thumb brushing over the engraving, something he often did when he thought of you.
Yet you managed to get him flustered all over again. The little kiss on the cheek you gave him earlier was driving him mad. It had been so long since he felt anything like this, so kind and gentle, so intimate without being sexual, he didn’t know how to act about it.
There was no way he could keep denying it: he had feelings for you. Could you possibly feel the same way? Your last conversation was about your friendship, how come all the sudden friendship wasn’t enough? Where did all these feelings fit in?
Logan raked a hand through his hair, frustration tugging at him. You were everything he wasn’t: beautiful, sweet, kind. The kind of person who made the world a little brighter just by existing. Surely you didn’t feel the same way about him... right? You were kind to everyone; that was just who you were. It didn’t mean you liked him.
Still, he couldn’t ignore how deeply these feelings had crept up on him. They hadn’t come all at once but had grown slowly, quietly, in the peaceful moments you’d shared: the late-night talks, the easy silences that somehow said more than words ever could. He hadn’t even realized how much you’d come to mean to him, until tonight. Until that kiss.
This would explain why he felt so jealous of Alex Summers, why he was so traumatized by the sight of your blood on his hands. Only you could get him to board a plane willingly, so what else would he do for you?
“Fuck…” he muttered under his breath, his voice heavy with frustration. Things were about to get a lot more complicated. There was no way he could tell you how he felt. You deserve the best: someone kind, someone who could give you everything you deserved. That wasn’t him. Not after everything he’d done. Especially not after that night…
The memory hit him like a punch to the gut. The night he attacked you. The guilt from that moment never left him, gnawing at the edges of his mind. You’d forgiven him, but he hadn’t forgiven himself. He didn’t deserve someone like you, not after that. Not ever.
Logan sat back on the edge of the bed, staring down at the lighter in his hand. His thoughts spiraled, a storm of self-loathing and regret. He convinced himself, as he always did, that he was destined to be alone. No good woman would ever settle for someone like him, let alone you.
-
The next morning arrived with an unexpected cold, so you threw on your warmest clothes and headed to the main hall for breakfast, excitement bubbling inside you at the idea of finding out more about Logan’s past.
But the feeling wouldn’t last. When you got to the dining room you found Logan was already there, looking grumpier than usual. He had a deep frown on his face, and looked at his coffee cup as it had personally offended him.
“Hey, good morning.” You greeted him.
When he looked up at you, his face softened and his shoulders seemed to relax.
“Morning. Slept well?” He asked as you sat down across from him.
“Not really, I guess I was too excited about today to sleep. What about you?”
Logan mulled over it for a moment.
“Same.” He said simply.
“Are you okay?” You asked. “We don’t have to do it today if you’re not ready.” You reassured him. He quickly shook his head.
“No, there’s no point dragging this on any longer.” He ran a hand down his face. Your heart ached for him, he looked tired and angry.
“Logan…” You went to reach his hand, but he quickly pulled it away.
“You should go get some breakfast, we have a long day ahead.”
You got up and headed to the table where the food was served. If Logan wanted to be a grumpy cat, so be it.
He really did look like he was sucking a lemon.
The ride to the Estate was quiet, a big contrats from the ride the day before. There was no banter or jokes, just music playing softly on the radio.
When you finally reached the Estate, you let out a whistle.
“Damn, Logan! I didn’t know you grew up filthy rich.” You joked. The main building, a manor that seemed frozen in time, stud tall and big at the top of a hill, surrounded by a vast land.
“Neither did I.” He said with a somber tone. Being back here after so long made Logan feel uneasy, like he was entering a sacred place that was prohibited to him, while at the same time walking into a dangerous place. Either way, he didn’t want to be there. You could tell this wasn’t easy for him and you wanted to make him feel at ease, but you could only help him as much as he would allow it. And right now he was being too stubborn for that.
When he parked the car you both got out, but as Logan headed to the door he noticed you weren’t following. Instead you stood by the car, arms crossed on your chest and a pout on your face.
“You coming or what?” He asked annoyed.
“No.” You stomped your foot like a child about to throw a tantrum. “Not until you tell me why you’re being such an ass this morning.” You pressed.
Logan glared at you.
“Don’t be ridiculous. Come on.”
You shook your head.
“Nope. Something happened and I wanna know what.”
Logan groaned.
“Coming here was your idea, so come on, let’s get moving.”
But you didn’t budge, shaking your head.
“You’re doing it again!” You said.
“Doing what?” Logan asked confused.
“Pushing me away.” You replied, your voice shaking. It made Logan stop in his tracks. He had sworn he wouldn’t push you away again. With a defeated sigh he ran a hand down his face and walked back towards you.
“I’m sorry sweetheart, I didn’t mean to. I guess I’m really stressed right now, not knowing what we may find there.” He said pointing at the building with his thumb over his shoulder. “I barely got any sleep but I don’t mean to take it out on you.” He reassured you.
Damn, you really had him wrapped around your finger, didn’t you?
“Why didn't you just tell me? You know you can tell me anything.” The sad look on your face, with a little pout on your lips, made Logan’s defense crumble.
“I know, I’m sorry sweetheart. You already did so much for me I didn’t want to burden you with something else.”
You pouted even more.
“After all this time you still haven’t learned that you’re not a burden for me.” You shook your head and stepped closer. “I guess I’ll just have to keep reminding you.” You took his hand and walked towards the door. “Come on!”
Logan smiled softly. Of course you forgave him right away, you just couldn’t stay mad at him.
He was so screwed!
“Is it anything like you remember?” You asked him and he looked around the building.
“Somewhat, yeah. But mostly things look out of place.”
Several families lived there after the Howletts, and in the latest decades functioned as a museum, so changes were to be expected, but at least most of the structure was left the same since the last time Logan was there.
You were spotted by an employee behind a counter.
“Welcome to Howlett Estate! Would you like a guided tour?” He asked.
“No.” Logan said simply. You threw him a look.
“We would like to explore on our own, but we may have questions for later.” You added politely.
“Okie dokie! Here are some flyers and you can use your phones to download more information.”
You took the flyers and smiled.
“Thank you!” You said before taking Logan by the arm and walking away. “I like him, he says okie dokie.” Logan simply rolled his eyes.
Stepping into the museum felt like traveling through a time machine. The furniture, the lamps, the carefully preserved clothes, all of it carried the weight of 200 years of history. You couldn’t help but wish these artifacts could speak, sharing the stories they had witnessed. How many footsteps had echoed through these halls? How many secrets were tucked away within these walls?
With your arm gently hooked around Logan's, you strolled at a leisurely pace, making sure he didn’t rush through the space. You wanted him to take it all in, to truly absorb every detail around him.
In the main room rested an imposing portrait of the Howlett family: John, Elizabeth and little James.
“Is that you?” You whispered pointing at the boy on the painting.
“I think so.”
“Awww you were so cute!” You gushed. Logan blinked and looked away, the tips of his ears turning pink. “Look at those little shorts!”
“I looked ridiculous in those clothes.” He deflected.
“Uh I’m sure they were very fashionable at the time.” You shrugged. “Your mom was very beautiful.”
Logan stared at the woman in the painting with a newfound pain in his chest: he craved for a motherly love he never felt. For someone who lived such a long life, he surely missed out on a lot of things.
“She really was.” He said softly.
You stayed quiet, knowing Logan needed a moment to process everything. There were signs of recognition in his eyes, but you didn’t dare to ask. If he wanted to share a memory with you, he would let you know.
You moved from one room to the other, until you reached a children’s bedroom and Logan stopped in his tracks.
“I remember this place…” He walked in slowly, taking everything in.
“Yeah?” You were curious. “Was this your bedroom?”
“I think so. It looked a bit different then, but yeah…”
“You had a big ass bed.” You pointed out the fancy mahogany bed. “I bet you were very spoiled.” You teased, but you dropped your playfulness when you saw the lost look on Logan’s face.
“I remember spending a lot of time in bed. I was a sickly kid.” He then walked to the bed and stared at it for a moment. You could almost see the wheels turning in his head. Suddenly Logan pushed the bed to the side, as if it weighed nothing.
“Logan!” You chastised. “We’re not supposed to touch anything!”
“Just keep watch.” Logan said before kneeling down and reaching behind the head of the bed.
“What are you doing?” You asked before leaning against the door, watching out for anyone coming your way.
“I left something in here…” he tapped around the wall until he heard a hollow sound. The room had clearly been reformed through the years, but to Logan’s surprise his little hidden spot was untouched. With one of his claws he managed to pull out a piece of skirting board and there it was: his little box of treasures.
He quickly put the board back in its place and then moved the bed.
“What is that?” You asked as you both sat on the bed. Logan opened the tin box, dust flying everywhere, and was met with little pieces of his childhood. There was an uncharacteristic tenderness in the way Logan picked the first item, his movements careful and deliberate, a stark contrast to his usual rough manner.
It was a little lead soldier.
“I remember this, my grandfather got it for me during a business trip.” He said before going for another item, and then another, and another. “He wasn’t very nice, so little things like this meant a lot to me.”
In the box were all kinds of things a boy could treasure: a few colorful marbles, a feather, some coins…
“It’s like a time capsule.” You whispered before reaching in and taking a postcard from the box. It had a beautiful painting of a rose. You turned it around and read outloud “Love you forever, your little flower -Rose.” You smiled softly. “Mmmm who’s Rose?”
Logan took a moment to think before picking the car.
“A childhood friend.” He said. It was a lie, or at least not the whole truth. Logan and Rose’s story was a long and messy one, one that ended in tragedy.
“A childhood friend.” You repeated with a scoff. “I didn’t know you called your friends “little flowers”.” you teased, elbowing him playfully.
Logan rolled his eyes.
“Shut up.” He said before snatching the card from your hand and placing it back in the box. If it wasn’t because of the shy smile on his face you would think he was actually mad.
Then something in the box caught his attention and his smile dropped. You watched as he carefully picked up an old pocket watch from the box.
“This was my father’s.” He said softly. “It was broken, so he didn’t use it anymore. He told me I could keep it and maybe one day I would figure out how to fix it.” He frowned, caressing the watch with his thumb, the same way he did with his lighter. “That day never came.” He said sadly.
You watched him quietly, before placing your hand on his back and rubbing soothing circles on it.
“You just got a piece of him back, that’s something…” You commented.
“Yeah, you’re right.”
“Excuse me?” A voice behind you said. You quickly threw your coat on Logan’s lap, hiding the box, before turning to see a tour guide standing by the door. “You’re not supposed to sit on the bed.” He said, a disapproving look on his face.
“Right! Of course! I’m sorry!” You jumped from the bed and walked towards him. “So, I have some questions, I saw there are a lot of portraits on the staircase, are they members of the Howlett family? Who are they?” You talked fast, pushing the guide out to the hall to give Logan a moment alone. You gave Logan a pointed look over your shoulder before stepping out of the room.
Logan kept looking into the box before finally closing it and putting it in your bag. He would look more into it later, for now he had to make sure you weren’t getting in trouble.
He found you asking all kinds of questions to the poor guide, who looked confused and flustered.
“... so if the mattresses were filled with feathers, how many geese or ducks would they need to fill in a king sized bed?” you asked.
“I wouldn’t know, ma’am.”
“I imagine it would be a lot!”
“Right.”
“And they made their own candles, right? Now, how do you make a candle?” You asked, playing dumb.
“I think that’s enough, sweetheart.” Logan said, stopping by your side. The guide sighed with relief.
“I have one more question!” You said before turning back to the poor guy. “What happened to the Howlett family? Are they still around?”
“I’m afraid the family’s history is a tragic one. For starters John and Elizabeth’s first son, John Jr. passed away when he was a baby. Years later they had their second son, James. There aren’t any actual records, given the time, but for what we could gather James was an illegitimate son Elizabeth had with the groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. Either way John raised James as his own. Not that he had much of a choice, at the time it would’ve been a massive scandal if people knew James was a bastard child.” while the guide talked and pointed out some portraits you glanced at Logan. There was a storm brewing behind his hazel eyes and you worried he would lash out any moment.
“Whether Mr. Howlett knew or not isn’t clear, but we do know he fired Logan. One evenight Thomas returned and the two men fought to death. It’s believed that he came back to take his son away and was killed in the process, not without mortally wounding John first. Still, someone must’ve taken little James, because he went missing after that. People in town searched for him, but he was never found.”
Slowly and very discreetly you stood by Logan and took his hand. With a squeeze to his fingers you told him you were there for him. This couldn’t be easy for him to hear. He squeezed your hand back, your touch grounding him.
“Feeling incapable of carrying on without her husband and her soon,Mrs. Elizabeth Howlett took her own life. The Howlett name remained, thanks to John’s father, who kept the place up and running until his death. He never stopped looking for James.” The guide concluded.
There was an extended silence, as everything seemed to sink in.
“That is very sad.” you said softly after a moment.
“Indeed.” the guide said. “Anything else you’d like to know?”
You looked at Logan and he shook his head.
“No, that would be all, thank you.” You replied.
“Of course, don’t forget to stop by the gift store!” the guide said before retreating away.
You turned to look at Logan fully.
“Are you okay?”
Logan barely nodded his head.
“Enough for today.” He mumbled before walking away.
It wasn’t long before you were both sitting at a table in the far corner of a bar. Logan knocked back drink after drink while you nursed a beer. The tin box laid open on the table while Logan inspected some of his old “treasures”. You were quiet for most of it, but you were worried about him and couldn’t keep silent much longer.
“Are you okay?” You asked. “I know today was intense and a lot happened, but did you at least get some answers? Any memories?”
Logan nodded before downing another drink.
“He was wrong.” He mumbled.
“Who?”
“The tour guide. He got most of the story right, but some details were wrong.” Logan took his father’s watch with a longing look. “My father didn’t kill Thomas Logan, I did.” He confessed. “That night I found out I was a mutant, I killed him with my claws… I was just a child.” He shook his head in shame.
“Oh Logan, I’m so sorry.” you said placing a hand on his arm.
“Thomas Logan was my biological father, but he didn’t mean anything to me. John Howlett didn’t raise me to avoid a scandal. He loved my mother and he loved me. In my heart he will always be my true father.”
“What happened after?” You asked.
“Rose and I ran away with help from my grandfather. The memories get hazy after that, but I do recall…” He took a deep breath. “I recall killing Rose by accident.” He said sadly.
“Oh, Logan…” You didn’t know what to say.
“I hurt everyone I care about, even before I knew I was a mutant I hurt my family.”
“No, Logan, stop. The way you were conceived wasn’t your fault, you didn’t choose to be your father’s son. You didn’t kill your mother, that’s on her.” You shook your head.
“What about Rose, uh? Or the others that came after her? My life is an endless battle, one death after the other.” He shook his head in defeat. “You should go back to the Mansion without me.”
Your heart dropped.
“What?” the question came out in a shaky voice. “I’m not going anywhere without you.”
“Angel…” Logan sounded exhausted. “I’m a bad man. You don’t need a bad man in your life.”
You frowned and felt hot tears threatening to spill out.
“Logan, I need you to listen to me.” You said while taking his hand over the table. “I know you say you’re a bad man because you feel guilty, because you have a conscience that weighs on you. But what if I told you that doesn’t make you a bad man. It does the opposite.” He looked at you confused. “A bad man doesn’t care if he hurts someone else, he only cares about himself. A bad man doesn’t have a conscience. And this, James Logan Howlett, is how I know you’re not a bad man. Because you care, I know you do, you care so much and behind this tough exterior there’s a good man craving forgiveness, companionship and even love.”
Logan looked at you for a moment, his eyes going from one side of your face to the other, as if he was memorizing your face.
“Sweetheart…” He breathed out.
“Please don’t leave me.” you begged, catching him by surprise. “You left once and it nearly killed me, please don’t do it again, don’t push me away.” Without realizing, tears started rolling down your cheeks. Logan reached up to touch your face and your eyelids dropped as he wiped your tears.
Your heart ached for him. You were convinced he would never love you back, not the way he loved Jean, but when he touched you like that you couldn’t help but feel a little bit of hope.
In the meantime Logan wondered how he got someone like you to care for him so much, to see the good in him when he couldn’t see it himself. You were so beautiful and if it was up to him you would never cry tears of sadness ever again.
“It’s been a long day, we both need some rest.” He said, both of you exhausted.
Once back at the B&B Logan walked you to your door.
“Will you be okay tonight?” You asked softly.
“Yeah.” Logan replied without thinking too much, before frowning and rubbing his neck. “I think so...” he added unsure. “...probably not.”
“We can stay up and talk a little bit more, if you want.” You offered.
Talking was the last thing Logan wanted to do.
“Angel…” He stepped closer, something shifting in his eyes. He lifted a hand to your face, so slowly it felt as if he was trying not to scare you, and placed it on your cheek. Your breath hitched and you tilted your head against his hand, seeking his touch. “I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me.” Logan whispered.
As if drawn together by an invisible force, you stepped closer until your chests were nearly brushing. Logan hesitated, his gaze searching yours for any sign to pull away, to stop. But all he found was an invitation: a soft, loving look that made him feel like the only person in the world. It was as if nothing else existed, no one else mattered, and you wanted him just as much as he wanted you.
“I would do anything for you, Logan.” you confessed.
And that was all Logan needed to take the next step. He leaned in and pressed his lips against you in a chaste, tentative kiss. Your hands moved up his chest to rest on each side of his neck, pulling him closer, his free hand resting on your hip.
When Logan pulled back he didn’t go far, he rested his forehead against yours. You opened your eyes slowly and looked at him still trying to wrap your head around the fact that he had kissed you. You dreamed of this moment so many times, you weren’t ready to let go.
You tilted your head up and kissed him again, this time with more enthusiasm as the initial shock washed away.
Logan wrapped his arm around your waist while you ran your hands up his neck and your fingers through his hair. When your tongue slipped past his lips, Logan let out a low growl and pulled you closer.
“Fuck, sweetheart…” He hissed against your lips. “I should’ve kissed sooner.” He said before kissing you again.
“I wish you had.” You whispered.
Logan pressed you against your door, wanting to feel you impossibly close.
“I don’t think I can stop.” Logan admitted.
“I don’t want you to stop. I've wanted this for a long time.” You said, but before he could kiss you again you pulled your face away slightly. “But I need to know…”
Logan pulled back to look at you better and waited.
“Yes?”
Suddenly you felt like you couldn’t speak, no words would come out of your mouth. When Logan saw you struggle, he tilted your chin and made you look at him.
“Hey, it’s okay. I’m sorry if I pushed you too much.”
You quickly shook your head.
“No, it’s not that… It’s just that…” You took his hands, wanting to ground yourself. “If we’re going any further, I need to know it’s not because you can’t be with Jean.” You looked at him shyly. “I don’t want to be your second choice.”
Logan stared at you for a moment in shock. He knew you were aware of his feelings for Jean, you even held him when he cried over her engagement with Scott. So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that you had your doubts. He wanted to shut those doubts down fast.
“You’re not.” He said. “I’m an idiot, this entire time I’ve been pinning after her yet you were here by my side, putting up with my crap.” He shook his head. “All those times I talked about her, did I hurt you?”
You chewed your lower lip as you tried to come up with an answer. But you didn’t need to, Logan saw right through you.
“Oh, sweetheart…” He pulled you closer and kissed your forehead. You instantly clinged onto him. “I’m so sorry.”
“You didn’t know.” you tried to comfort him. “I’m sorry I killed the mood.”
Logan chuckled lightly against your skin.
“You didn’t kill anything. I’m glad we talked about this.” He pulled back and cupped your face. “I don’t want Jean, not anymore. I want you, even though I’m convinced I don’t deserve you.”
You rolled your eyes and gave his shirt a little tug.
“You keep saying that, can I convince you otherwise?” You asked with a flirty tone as you played with his dog tags. Logan smirked.
“Perhaps I can be persuaded.” He flirted back.
You quickly opened your bedroom door and pulled him inside. You couldn’t help but giggle as you pushed his jacket off his shoulders and he kicked the door shut. This was everything you dreamed of! Logan easily picked you up by your thighs and you quickly wrapped your legs around his waist.
“You better not drop me!” You laughed.
“Never!” He chuckled and kissed you again.
Logan set you down carefully on the dresser where he took his time tasting your lips and exploring your mouth. Your hands wandered all over his chest, his broad shoulders, his biceps… you wanted to touch every inch of him. You couldn’t get enough of him.
At one point he pulled back and caressed your cheek.
"You're so beautiful," he murmured, his voice carrying an uncharacteristic softness. His eyes held a rare tenderness, mirrored in the gentle way his fingers brushed against you. It was a good thing you were sitting down because your knees were weak and you felt like melting inside. “My sweet little angel.” Logan added before kissing you again.
Your hands worked on unbuttoning his flannel and quickly pushed it off his shoulder, dropping it on the floor next to his jacket.
“Logan…” You whispered against his lips. “Take me to bed…”
He didn’t need to be told twice.
You spend the rest of the night in Logan’s arms, making love and having all kinds of conversations in between, from deep and revealing to fun and silly. But you only had so much energy, and after the fourth round your eyelids started to drop. Logan watched you as you curled up against him, his fingertips caressing your arm up and down. You were breathtaking and he kicked himself for not realizing sooner.
At one point you felt the sheets rustling and the bed moving. You turned to see Logan sitting on the bed, slowly dressing himself. With your eyes heavy with sleep, you tried to sit up, lifting yourself up with your elbow.
“What are you doing?” You asked softly.
Logan turned to look at you and smiled at the sight: you looked adorable, half asleep, your hair a mess, your lips bruised from all the kisses. and the sheets barely covering your naked body.
“Go back to sleep, baby.” He whispered.
Your heart dropped.
“You’re leaving? Why?”
The worry and sadness in your voice didn’t go unnoticed to Logan.
“It’s not what you think.” He shook his head and leaned to kiss your forehead. “I just can’t fall asleep next to you.”
“Why?” you pouted.
“I’m worried I may hurt you again.” He admitted.
You looked at him for a moment, giving him your best puppy dog eyes.
“I wish you didn’t leave.” You wanted nothing more but to sleep in his arms.
“I know, baby, I know.” He sighed. “I’ll keep working on it, I promise. I just don’t want to hurt you.”
You reached for his hand. What he didn’t know is that this was hurting you too.
“Will I see you in the morning?”
Logan smiled and lifted your hand to his lips, kissing your knuckles softly.
“Darling, after tonight, you won’t ever get rid of me.” He chuckled and leaned to kiss you. “Get some sleep, I’ll bring us breakfast in a few hours.” He promised.
“Mmmokay.” You sighed and nuzzled your pillow. “It better be a good breakfast, with lots of kisses.”
Logan chuckled and got up.
“All the kisses you want, my angel.”

Wade Winston Wilson and Tony 'I am Iron man' Stark
I think a lot of people forget just how incredibly smart Deadpool is. This man was in the special forces, You dont get there by being stupid. Now, I know he was discharged but still. It's been proven over and over again that this man can put together an amazing plan and is a very quick thinker- Now: Give me Wade who knows how everyone sees him, Stupid, loud, annoying and lets them think that way. Give me Wade who's scared of showing that he can have a coherent thought even after the mutation and after his brain broke and after he started talking to audience. because he's built this facade and it's easier for everyone to expect nothing from him then for them to expect everything because he's scared. Give me Wade whos scared of rejection from not only his friends and family but his coworkers and those he looks up to so he plays the dumb card and the crazy card and he plays it well Give me Wade who thinks with his hands Give me Wade who has very precise hand signals, Some that came over from his special ops days and some that he's made up for himself, to think because his brain is so loud he has to voice every thought or at least make it physical in some way so he doesnt forget it Give me someone who learns his hand signals and uses that to put his ideas into place (backtracking to my later post about Iron man and Deadpool respecting each other) Give me Tony who notices his hand signals and little drawings on the edge of his notepad and voices them for Wade like their his own ideas, Not out of malice or because he wants to steal them but because he believes in Wade and knows he's a smart man Give me Tony who keeps Deadpool behind in meetings to ask for his opinion on the matter and implements that into his plan as well because you cant tell me Wade doesnt know the best way to infiltrate a highly secured base. Give me Wade who's eyes light up everytime his plan works because he's forgotten how smart he actually is Give me Tony who learns Wades hand signs and uses them in battle, like a secret code to each other Give me the others confused by why Tony and Wade are just staring at each other only for Tony to turn to them and tell them they're changing their entire plan Give me Logan or anyone really walking in on one of Wade and Tonys private chats to see Wade, map out, little marks via figurines that Tony made (They're replicas of everyone on the team to help Deadpool visualize better), giving precise and logical ideas and Tony just nodding along Let it be Tony and Wades secret that he's not stupid. He's a smart guy, smarter than a lot of people but the pressure of being smart never appealed to him Give me Wade who asks questions about Tonys tech and Tony asking questions about Deadpools healing factor Give me Tony who allows Deadpool into his lab and lets the man watch him until he falls asleep and Tony just draps a blanket over him Give me Wade and Tony who are two very intelligent but broken people understanding each other and having the others back when no one else will.

Okay so like,,,,I usually never make requests (I’m a lurker fr fr) but your writing Is god tier, so I gotta ask:
Could you do a fic for Hank/Beast? He’s my personal fave but I never see any content for him ever, like the fic scene for this man is a ghost town. he’s underrated as hell. My man is ripped, highly intelligent and respectful of the arts! Yet he doesn’t get any attention.
I would love to see some general headcanons (SFW & NSFW) if you’re up to it. no problem if you don’t write for him or something, I just thought i would ask.
Thanks!
Tumblr media
SFW!Beast/GN!Reader
To be honest, I actually wasn't really sure about writing for Hank at first because I've never really had a connection to the character, but he grew on me!! Plus, I'm here to serve lolol we've been starved of fics as a Fandom for basically forever and it would be a disservice not to fill the Hank void out there! Hope it's okay that I only wrote Sfw headcannons, I have a separate req for NSFW for him so I decided to split it into two to save my sanity lol. Finals are gonna be hell for me.
-ps- Should I be writing right now? no. Am I doing it anyway? Yurp. Also, I'm basing his history off of the fandom wiki, so I'm sorry if anything is off.
Tws: none that I can think of atm. As always, reader written while picturing fem but no pronouns mentioned.
Tumblr media
Hank, despite what some would think, was most definitely a heartthrob, particularly in his college days!! I mean, a man who's confident, smart, respectful, and also an athlete? Who wouldn't swoon? He was 110% the guy that everyone wanted to take home to their parents.
And He's such a sweet, attentive lover too!! Acts of service almost definitely is a love language for him. He cooks for you, fixes the broken things that you didn't even realize were broken, even organizes your notes before a difficult exam.
He loves to surprise you with flowers, even if it isn't any special occasion, and if you ask, he'll help you preserve them as well!
He loves to kiss your forehead, temples, and hands. On top of that, he's very touchy. The two of you were most definitely seen as the parents of any friend group.
Things changed a little after he took the serum that mutated him further. His confidence had taken a blow, and he just didn't quite know how to approach you anymore.
It took a hot minute to reassure him that you didn't really care if he was blue, or furry, or beastly, he was still Hank Mccoy, wasn't he? He was the man you were in love with, and you certainly weren't going to stop now. Besides, you still thought he was handsome. With the kinds of books he's seen you read, you're a bit surprised that he didn't think you would find him attractive.
Things gradually got back to normal, but for a while, he didn't kiss you as often as he used to. Well, he didn't kiss you period. Even though he knew the incredible extent to which you loved him, the shape of his mouth had changed. Hell, he had fangs that he would rather die than mark you with.
You practically had to tie him down into a contract to get him to kiss you again. He was always one to experiment, why not treat this the same? If you kiss, and it goes well, you do it again. If it goes well a second time and a third, you have a pretty reliable test. Validity shouldn't matter when he knew that you loved him to bits already.
He felt like he was falling in love with you all over again, and yet he still hesitated. It wasn't until you had grabbed him by the collar to drag him into a kiss that he actually relaxed, and what do you know, it was a pretty reliable test after all. A predictive one too, with how often you continued to kiss him afterwards.
Domestic was the best way to describe your relationship with Hank.
You yawned as you made your way down to the lab, still in your pajamas and slippers. Just a few hours previously, after a shower and self-care routine, you had settled into bed with an eyebrow-raising book as you waited for your husband to come to bed. This was a normal routine for the two of you, you immersing yourself into a book to stay awake until Hank entered, kissed your temple sweetly, and began his own nightly routine. It was a set of events you were used to.
Today, however, you felt like you had done a lot more reading than usual. When you finally pulled yourself out of your book and checked the time, the clock by your bed read 11 pm. A rather late time for Hank to be out, but you already knew where he would be. The lower levels of the mansion were extra cold at night, and you find yourself rubbing some warmth into your arms as you approach the lab.
The doors open with a swish, the light of the lab having all been darkened exempt for the lamp on Hank’s desk. He’s so immersed in what he’s doing that he doesn’t even realize when you come in. You walk up behind his chair, running your hands through his hair softly when you reach him.
Hank isn’t surprised, sighing at the pleasant sensation as he tips his head back to encourage you. You giggle a little, leaning down to press a kiss to his head as you begin to massage his scalp.
“It’s late.” You say gently. Hank hums in response, eyes closed as he appreciates your touch.
“I’m sorry, my love. Seems I was a little entranced.” He says. You huff at him playfully.
“You say entranced, I say you’re overworking yourself. You’ve been working on this project all week. Don’t let it cut into your rest time.” Your scolding always sounded too nice, but he knows you mean it. Hank sighs again, this time sounding a little more tired, but he doesn't argue. He rolls around to face you, pulling you into a tired hug from his chair.
“Perhaps it is time I go to bed. What time is it, my dear?”
“Eleven.” Hank lets out a quiet chuckle at your quick reply, finally standing up. He doesn’t let go of you however, choosing to rest his head on your shoulder as he sways the two of you back and forth.
“You’re most certainly right, it is late. Much too late for a man to leave his lovely spouse waiting. Oh, whatever shall I do to make it up to you?.” His words come out as a purr, and you let out a curt laugh at him. You pull away a little, taking his large hands in your own as you lead him to the door. He smiles widely when you stop for a moment, remembering his glasses and placing them on his face before starting to drag him to bed.
“I’ll let you decide that, Love. As long as you make it to bed, that’s apology enough for me.”

A/N: Here comes chapter FOUR! Oh wow. It's easier when I do this for fun. I don't feel that much pressure to write and put it out regularly. I think the pace of releasing new chapters will slow down soon, but I hope to finish this at least the way I want to.

Summary: In Salem, Logan and Y/N have the opportunity to save the boy.
Please, do not read if you are under 18. This story is suitable for mature audience.

A TOUCH OF HOPE MASTERLIST | Chapter Three
Tumblr media
LOGAN HOWLETT - WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY
The sky turned dark blue, and the moon showed high up. Y/N’s eyes were locked on it, watching as it illuminated the whole world. She found nights to be her favourite - calm, peaceful. Everyone’s soul would rest as their heads would travel into the dreamland. Then again, sleeping was difficult and unpleasant when nightmares entered uninvited.
“What happened today?” Logan brought her back to reality with the question. “Why the tears?”
She exhaled, annoyed by that question. “I talked with the Professor,” she said, not looking at him. “He told me about slipping from Cerebro. And I know you know.”
His eyes never left the road. “I know. We all do. He didn’t tell us why it kept happening.”
Y/N turned her head to him and observed his focused face. His hands were resting on the steering wheel. “He discovered the reason.” Logan looked at her for a brief moment. “It has to do with my mutation. In his words, it is all about protection. Somehow, it shields my brain from telepaths or any mind infiltration.”
“I thought he read your mind,” he was confused.
“He did,” she nodded. “Until he couldn’t again. My mind decides for itself, it seems. One moment, you can come in and have a peak, and then, the doors close, and you are left standing outside in the cold.”
“You’ll figure it out.”
“I already figured out other things. I am dumb and naive,” Y/N scoffed. “That realisation hurt like a bitch.”
His eyes were back on her. “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean? You are not any of those things.”
She had to laugh. “Oh, if you only knew how many stupid things I did in the past. You’d then know that I am right.”
“We all make stupid things,” he commented. “I have my own fair share of them.”
Y/N shifted in her seat and turned her body to see him better. “Ah, will I learn something new about you?” she narrowed her eyes.
“Only if you tell me more about your stupidity,” he grimaced at her.
The smile disappeared from her face, and she lowered her eyes. The gear lever became more fascinating than anything else around. “My ex-boyfriend sold me to the lab,” she said timidly.
“What?” his foot pressed on the break, the car coming to a halt. There was a stop sign that he almost didn’t see. “What the fuck?” He turned left on another road and continued driving to Salem.
“I was barely nineteen when he found me and gave me a roof and food. He, Mars, was the leader of the group - Void.” She wasn’t ready to tell the story out loud. The fear of him judging her would be unbearable. Charles was sympathetic. Not a hit of judgement came out of his voice. Maybe Logan would be the same? “I’ve spent there almost four years before it went to shit.”
“Void? It sounds like Magneto’s ‘Brotherhood’,” Logan stated.
“The Void consisted of mutants and humans. It was basically a criminal group. We would steal money, cars and do all sorts of shit,” she shook her head. “I am not proud of that part of  my life.”
“What happened?” he was curious.
Y/N huffed and closed her eyes. “Mars, such a weird name, could hypnotise people, manipulate them as he liked. He was a mutant. I didn’t know about it. Many of us didn’t. He used it to his advantage. He would force people to do things for him, even torture innocent people.
“At this point, I cannot be sure what was my own doing and what was his. All I know is he had me in the palms of his hands. It took some sweet nothings and a little attention, and this bitch,” she pointed at herself,  “fell for him.”
“So, you were in love,” Logan said after a while.
“I think, I don’t know. Let’s say I was, but it was one-sided. Mars used me, used my power to protect him. He gave me some attention and fell for it.” She bit her lower lip, nervousness spreading over her body. “During that time with him, I did unspeakable things.”
Logan noticed it was difficult to talk about that part. She twiddled her thumbs. “Why did he sell you to the lab?”
Y/N scratched her nape. “When I found out that he was a mutant and what was his ability - yes, it took me four years - I wanted to run away and never look back. Of course, being the stupidly brave woman I am, I went to confront him. Mars was one step ahead of me.
“The last thing I remember was hands holding me tight, pulling me away from him. They got me off guard and injected me with a drug. When I gained consciousness, I was locked in a cell. And thus started my five-year life as a lab rat, moved at least seven times around the country.”
“Damn,” said Logan.
“Dumb, blind, naive - that’s all I can say about myself. Lessons were learned. I thought about killing him, you know? A person like him doesn’t deserve to live. Who knows how many girls he had used since he sold me?”
“If you had the chance, would you?” Logan asked, curious to know the answer to that.
It took her a minute to admit it. “Yes. I would.” She reached into the pocket of her jeans and took out a black hair elastic. Her hands worked fast, and she brushed her hair into a bun. Some strands framed her face.  When her eyes found Logan staring at her, she gave him a faint smile. “You must think I’m crazy.”
“Not at all,” he admitted. “I’d do the same thing. Hell, I did it in the past. I killed people who used me and betrayed me. The list of people whose life I ended is long. I promised myself I’d never kill again. I quickly realised that’s not how it works in this world.”
“You’d do anything to survive,” she added after that. “I did. You know the saying - I’d kill for love. And I did. Uh, maybe. I don’t know. Whether I did or didn’t, it doesn’t matter. There is blood on my hands. I have to live with that.”
A gas station came into their view. Logan turned the car and parked on a free spot next to the building. “I’ll fill the tank, and then we can continue.”
Y/N unfastened the seatbelt and stepped outside. She stretched her limbs. She went inside the building and bought two water bottles and a chocolate. As she was walking out, her eyes captured Logan filling the tank. Her eyes travelled over his body, admiring how well-built he was. Out of nowhere, her lips slightly curved up. There was a warm feeling in her lower stomach and even excitement. Where did that come from?
He noticed. Logan saw her standing behind the glass door, holding the bottles and smiling at him. He flared his nostrils and moved his eyes away. Logan moved inside to pay for the gas just as Y/N walked out to the car.
She put the bottles and chocolate on the roof. The smell of gasoline lingered around the place. One cigarette or a match, and the station would explode. Where was her mind going with this?
“Hey there, pretty girl.” Two unknown men approached her. They were tall, one was bold, and the other had short dark hair. “Wanna hang out?”
She hated this. Why did men need to talk to women when they were not interested? She glared at them. “No, thanks.”
“Oh, come on, sweets.”
She squinted at them. “I think you have trouble accepting when someone says no.”
“Mouthy,” one laughed. “I like that.”
“I suggest you leave me alone before-”
“Before what, sugar?”
Logan walked out, and his eyes fell on Y/N and two douchebags talking to her. “What the fuck?” he mumbled and walked straight to her. Instinctively, he stood behind her, giving the men death glares. “Can I help ya, fellas?”
Y/N could feel Logan’s body heat radiating. He stood close to her, his front almost touching her back. She smirked, loving how the men’s faces paled. They stepped back.
“I thought so,” Logan’s hand rubbed Y/N’s right shoulder and then walked around the car.
Y/N winked at the men and stepped inside the car, smiling. She looked at Logan, who already had a cigar in his mouth, lighting it up. “Thanks.”
“Eh, don’t mention it,” he said.
They had another hour and a half before they reached Salem. Either they were silent, or they talked about random things. Y/N could still feel Logan’s touch on her shoulder, lingering there gently.
“Will you tell me something about you?” she asked an hour later. “I told you about my stupidity. I’d like to know more about you. That is if you are willing to share.” He smiled and rolled his eyes. “You’ve said you killed a lot of people. Can you tell me more?”
She noticed how he flinged. She must have hit a tough spot. Y/N wanted to apologise. Logan decided to tell her more. “I’ve seen wars, fought in them even.”
“Wars?”
“First World War, Second World War,” he answered.
Y/N’s mouth almost fell to her lap. “Wait, what do you mean?”
“I was born in 1832,” he announced. Watching Y/N’s face change a few times was amusing.
“No shit,” she didn’t believe him. “You cannot be over 170 years old. You look not older than 35.”
“I ain’t lying, bub,” he grinned at her.
Y/N’s mouth kept moving. No words came out. Many thoughts were running through her mind. Her whole body turned to him. “Okay, it makes sense when I know about your regenerative healing factor. I didn’t think it would make you immortal.”
“I wouldn’t say I am immortal,” he took a drag from the cigar. The air filled with its heavy smell. “I once was a boy who grew up, and then, the ageing slowed down until it stopped, or I think.” When he looked at her, Y/N’s mouth kept hanging open. He put two fingers under her chin and helped her close her mouth. “Careful, or something will fly in there.”
Their eyes met. Logan’s fingers rested under her chin longer than necessary. When he pulled away, she wanted to scream to put them back there.
“So, both wars,” she tried to resume the topic.
He wrinkled his nose. “Civil war, Korean war.”
“Holy shit.”
“Here’s the thing -  I don’t remember much. At some point, before I even came to the school, I lost my memory. Charles helped me restore some. There are big chunks of my past I still don’t know. I have concluded that it’s for the better.”
“I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable,” she said.
“No, it’s fine,” he waved a hand. “If you can share bits and pieces, so can I.”
When they arrived in Salem, it was after midnight. Logan decided to park the car farther away from the lab. It wouldn’t be wise to drive all the way there. Once they left the vehicle, they walked through a calm residential district. The lab was around a ten-minute walk from there.
The air got colder, and the moon got lost behind the clouds. The wind rose. There were signs it was about to rain.
“We’ll keep it simple, Y/N,” Logan started to talk, explaining the plan. “We will look around the perimeter and map the surroundings. We count the guards and the security cameras and then leave.”
“What if-”
“No,” he stopped her. “I will not let you risk your life without a back-up. Last time, the place was packed with armed men. I don’t think that changed since then.”
There was no point in arguing. “Fine.”
When they approached the facility, the place looked almost similar when she left it. There was a part of the building demolished. It used to be her escape window. One of the locked mutants wrecked that side with their ability. And yet, it brought her a lot of unpleasant memories. Her stomach turned upside down.
Together, they moved around the demolished side until they were met with an entrance gate. “What the shit?” Logan mumbled. At the gate were only two men with guns. “Last time, there were twenty of them,” he stated. “The roofs were covered with them. Now nothing.”
Shouting came out of the demesne. Then, there was the sound of an engine. Logan grabbed Y/N’s hand and pulled her to him, making them hide behind a thick tree. He kept her close while they watched a military truck exit the facility.
“The boy is not here,” Logan stated. “This place is not what it used to be a few weeks back. It’s strange. We got satellite pictures a few days ago, and this was still a highly secured facility.”
When the truck was gone, they moved forward. The wall that surrounded the building was destroyed in many places. They would be able to get with ease. Y/N’s eyes travelled around the building. She knew a way in. She could still remember the interior.
“We should go. The boy is not here,” Logan ordered, reaching for her arm.
“No, wait,” Y/N stopped him. “I think this is the perfect opportunity to go inside. So far, there are not many guards. The lab, where they kept us, is underground. At least, that was a month ago. We have the perfect opportunity to look around.”
He gritted his teeth. “I told you I will not risk your life. It is dangerous.”
“Then stay here,” she talked back. “I’m here. I need to know. Even if it is only a little bit.”
Y/N started to run away from him, heading to the fallen wall that was not guarded by the men. Logan cursed under his nose. What was he expecting? That woman was stubborn as hell. Before he lost her, he decided to follow her. His conscience wouldn’t let him let her go alone.
Y/N was careful when she entered the estate and ran to the demolished part of the building. Peeking inside, she saw a destroyed room filled with bricks, wood and damaged furniture. The interior was dark. There was nothing useful for her. Her eyes noticed light coming from the other side. It was a hallway leading further into the compound.
Her feet automatically took her there. She walked over the bricks and stones until she reached the hallway entrance. If she remembered correctly, it led to a security room.
A hand gripped her above her elbow and pulled her back. “What the fuck do you think you are doing?” Her eyes found angry Logan standing close to her.
“There is a security room down the hallway,” she whispered. “We will be able to see more.”
“I am so pissed right now,” he growled. “We had a deal.”
“If I see a chance, I will take it,” she spat back, trying to keep her voice low. “Now let me go. Please. I must know more.”
As much as he hated it, Logan let her go. His claws got out, ready to be used if necessary. Logan walked close behind her, protecting her back. They reached the end of the hallway.
“Shit,” she cursed. There were dead bodies on the floor, covered in blood. It felt like a slaughter room. The scent of copper hit her nose, and she wrinkled it. She observed the dead bodies and discovered they had many bullet wounds on their bodies. It was all fresh. “We’re not alone.”
Logan started to sniff the air, sensing something was off. Y/N approached the screens and looked at all the cameras installed around the place. There was another military vehicle outside that they didn’t notice. More men surrounded it. They wore different uniforms than the dead men in the security room.
“They are here for something,” she commented as her eyes drifted from one screen to another. “They are here for JJ,” she gasped when she found a screen with JJ’s cell.
Logan got to her to see with his own eyes. The eleven-year-old was sitting in the middle of a cage, visibly distressed. He had a white gown on. No other mutants were present. As they watched, they saw men come to him, pointing guns at the innocent child.
Unexpected. That’s how it could be described. How was it possible that the last time Y/N saw him, they wanted to take him away, and now, he was here? None of this made sense.
“Shit,” Logan gasped. He pointed at one of the soldiers who was closest to the camera. “They work for Trask. If they take him, he’ll sure be dead by the end of the week.”
That was the push Y/N needed. Logan didn’t have the chance to react when she ran away from him, heading outside to the other military track. She was sure it was waiting there for JJ.
Anger filled her veins, her whole body. Last time, she couldn’t help him escape. He got her out. She was too weak to return the favour. This time, Y/N was determined to get him out and destroy anyone who would dare to stop her. The deal she made with Logan was out the window.
Y/N ran outside but hid behind the closest corner, watching. She waited for the window of opportunity. At least ten men kept guarding the vehicle. The back door was opened. Her heart was beating rapidly. Adrenaline was high. Fear knocked on the back of her head, telling her to run away and never look back.
She potted JJ coming out of the building with a thick collar around his neck. The boy was almost bald and alarmingly bruised. Two big men guarded him by holding his shoulders from each side. Another three men were walking behind them, guns ready to shoot him in his head.
What can she do with her protective power? It has some offensive moves, Y/N remembered the Professor’s words. They echoed inside her mind. She thought back to when her ability turned deadly.
One last breath, and she ran towards the heavily armed men. The moment they discovered her presence, their guns were up, pointing at her. Y/N wrapped her body into a protective shield and rammed the men with it.
Bullets were pointless. They weren’t able to penetrate the protective veil of blue. Y/N turned on her heel and faced the rest of the men. As much as they tried, no one could get through the forcefield.
Two men grabbed JJ and moved with him away from the fight while the rest of them did everything in their power to kill Y/N. She kept knocking down the men like a house of cards. And then a roaring shout came from the right side. Logan’s claws penetrated the men’s bodies, slicing through them. Some managed to shoot him.
“No,” Y/N shouted. For a moment, he forgot he was indestructible. And yet, she worried about him.
The usage of forcefield was draining her energy fast. The more she held it on, the weaker her body became. She ran towards the men who got JJ. “Let him go!” she screamed at them. “He’s a child!”
They threw the boy on the ground hard, making him cry in pain. That’s when Y/N noticed the colourful bruises around his face, arms and legs. He looked sick and beaten. The gun was now pointed directly at his head. “Make a step, and I will kill him in front of your eyes!”
Y/N didn’t make a move. Her eyes were fixed on the boy. “Let him go,” she said through gritted teeth. “He’s just a child. An innocent child that hasn’t lived enough.”
Once Logan killed the last man, he walked closer to Y/N and the men. His adamantium claws were covered in blood, as were his t-shirt and the unbuttoned flannel shirt. When he discovered how the boy was close to being shot, he stopped in his tracks, breathing heavily.
“Y/N,” JJ whispered her name. Tears gathered in his eyes. “Y-you came for me?”
It broke her heart to see him like this. “Of course,” her voice shook. Her eyes moved back to the soldiers. “Let-him-go. I won’t ask again.”
“No,” the soldier said strictly. “If you want the boy to live, you will let us leave with him.”
The forcefield started to glitch a little. Everyone noticed it. Y/N had to focus harder to keep herself protected. One mistake and she could end dead.
“What do you want with him?” Logan asked instead.
“That’s none of your business, mutant,” he barked.
Y/N thought about her next move. Her head turned to bloodied Logan, who was breathing heavily. His body was ready to fight. The veins popped out of his neck and forearms. She sighed. Y/N got them into this mess, and she didn’t know what to do.
“We need back up to Salem’s lab,” her ears registered one of the men talking to a walkie-talkie. “We have two other mutants on our radar. They are trying to get the boy.
Her eyes blinked a few times. She didn’t have much time left. Y/N kept breathing through her nose. Deep inhale and long exhale.
“Y/N,” she heard Logan’s concerned voice.
Focus on the object you want to wrap in the forcefield and send the energy flying to it. That’s what the Professor told her last week during her training. Picture it. Project the vision onto it.
Her eyes locked on JJ, who was shivering on the cold ground. With that collar around his neck, he looked like a slave. She could feel his fear. All she wanted was to protect him, keep him safe from this fucked up world. Her right hand stretched forward. In her mind, she pictured the boy wrapped around the veil, protecting his soul and body.
That’s when she felt the energy leaving her body and covered the boy in a light blue and silver veil. For the first time, she created a forcefield around another person. When it happened, the man shot a bullet at him. It got absorbed into it.
It was Logan’s cue to bolt out of his place and kill both of those fuckers who dared to hurt Y/N or the boy. Blood splashed around them, covering the grass and Logan. It took him a few slices, and it was over. Every soldier who wanted to kill them was dead.
“Fuck,” Logan cursed and retracted the claws back under the skin. His eyes moved to the forcefield wrapped around the boy and glitching around her. She created two at the same time.
Y/N’s eyes got heavier. Something warm tickled her upper lip. She broke the energy. The veil disappeared from her and from the boy. She exhaled the last breath she held. Her knees gave up, and she fell to the ground. Her head was spinning. She felt this weak before when she escaped the lab.
“Y/N,” Logan called her name when he fell to his knees next to her. He ran to her the moment she went down. He lifted her head and noticed her nose bleeding heavily. His big hands brushed her cheeks. He put a strand of hair behind her ear. “Look at me, bub. Come on, look at me.”
“I’m,” she started to talk but failed. She gulped loudly and took a deep breath. “I’m fine.”
“You’re bleeding,” he wiped the blood with the sleeve of his flannel shirt. It didn’t help much. “Can you walk? We need to move. More will come. We must leave.”
She blinked a few times. “Yeah, I guess. Get JJ, and we can go.”
Logan helped her to her feet and made sure she was stable. He turned to the boy who was kneeling on the ground watching them. “You alright, kid?” he eyed the child, checking if he wasn’t bleeding as well. Fear was evident on his face. “I will not gonna hurt ya,” his voice got softer.
JJ got up on his feet and ran towards Y/N, throwing himself into her weak embrace. “You came for me,” he cried.
“I’m sorry it took me so long,” her voice broke, and she kissed his head. “You are safe now, JJ. Logan and I will take you to a safe place.”
As much as he hated to ruin the moment, Logan stepped to them. His ears registered the sound of helicopters in the air. “We need to move. Now.”
Y/N grabbed the boy’s hand, and they ran away from the facility and into the woods. Logan was two steps behind them, making sure they were moving. His eyes were more fixed on Y/N than on the boy.
Suddenly, her body bumped into a tree. She had to stop and take a few breaths. Everything was shaking, and her vision got blurry. “Shit,” mumbled. She looked at the boy, then at Logan, frowning. Why were there two of each?
The woods spun in front of her eyes. It took her a few seconds before she pushed her body off the tree and moved. Her hand never let go of JJ. This time, Logan’s arm found her waist. He kept it there for support. He didn’t want her to fall or hurt herself anymore. He could smell how drained she was. Logan held her until they reached the residential district.
“You good?” he asked her when they slowed down.
“Just weak,” she replied. “It’s going to be okay. I’ve never held the forcefield for this long.”
“You projected it around the boy, also. That’s a huge step,” he patted her shoulder. “I’m still pissed at ya,” he added.
“Sorry, not sorry.”
Logan turned around, eyes scanning the woods behind them. His instinct told him to move and leave. He smelled more soldiers searching for them. To their luck, the car was closer than anticipated. He unlocked the car and opened the door for the boy. “Get in,” he ordered.
Y/N climbed into the passenger’s seat and closed the door with a loud thud. She moaned. The sound was too painful. Once Logan got in, they were on their way away from Salem and back to the school.
The tension inside the car could be felt until they were far away from the residential district. All of them relaxed when they connected to a main road.
Y/N reached for her backpack and took out her denim jacket. She took off her hoodie and handed it to JJ. “Put this on so you’re not cold.”
“Thanks,” he sniffled a little and grabbed the hoodie. He was only wearing a thin white robe covered in dirt. His legs were exposed, and he was bare feet.
Logan saw what she was doing, so he turned on the heat inside the car. Y/N grabbed a bottle she bought at the gas station and handed it to JJ. Then she gave him a piece of the chocolate. “Here, drink and eat some chocolate. It’s all I have now.”
She watched him from the rear-view mirror, drinking the water and eating the chocolate. Her shoulders relaxed, and she exhaled loudly. As if the stress escaped her body when she saw him alive and well.
“Everyone’s gonna be pissed,” Logan stated after a while. His eyes were on the road, here and there, checking the boy in the mirror.
“I don’t care,” Y/N whispered. Her body rested against the car seat, eyes closed. “We didn’t plan on this.”
“Sure,” he scoffed.
“No, we didn’t,” she opened her eyes and glared at him. “I would have left if it weren’t for the fact that soldiers from Trask came for him. Besides, if I didn’t intervene, we would have lost him forever.”
“You don’t-”
“You said it yourself,” she snapped. “If they took JJ, he’d be dead by the end of the week. This was our chance. I don’t care that you are upset, disappointed or whatever. It had to be done.”
Logan hit the steering wheel out of frustration. “Goddamit, Y/N. It was reckless to head inside without thinking. It could have gone to shits if there were more men.”
“Enough,” she stopped him. “It’s done. We have him. He’s alive, and we made it out of there. End of story.”
Y/n turned her head to the other side. It was a sign that the conversation was over. She noticed a faint reflection of herself in the window. There was dried blood under her nose, lips and chin. She tried to wipe it off with the sleeve of her denim jacket. It didn’t work much.
“W-who are you?” they heard the boy’s soft voice. He was still afraid.
“Logan,” he said.
“Y-you have claws,” JJ stated. “So you are like us, right?” Logan only grunted. “Where are you taking me?”
Y/N turned around and faced the boy. She put a smile on her face. Her hand reached for his cheek and stroked it. “We are taking you to a safe place for people like us. It’s a school for mutants.”
“School?” his eyes sparkled. “There is a school?”
“Yes,” Y/N nodded. “You will be able to live there and learn. Many children are living their lives there. They helped me, too. Logan saved me when I escaped the lab.” Her eyes filled with tears. She tried to hold the cry but couldn’t. “I’m sorry I left you there. I’m so sorry, JJ.”
His smaller hand reached for her hand on his cheek. “It’s okay. You came back.”
“No, no, it’s not,” she cried. “You got us out. I will be forever thankful for that. It upsets me that I couldn’t do the same for you that day. It took me a month.”
Logan felt the pain in Y/N’s voice. He bit his lower lip, trying to hold himself back and not reach for her. The anger he felt was gone. Logan wanted to put her into his arms and protect her whole being from the world. When he saw the tears running down her face, he sighed. His right hand reached for her face, and his thumb wiped off the tears under her left eye.
Her eyes met his. The touch was gentle, filled with something unspoken, new. “He’s fine. We got him out.”
All she managed to do was to nod.
“How long until we are there?” Jerome asked.
“Four hours,” Logan answered when his hand left Y/N’s cheek and turned his attention back to the road. “Rest, kid. We have a long way ahead.”
He wrapped his arms around his body, trying to warm himself faster. Y/N’s hoodie helped. He even put the hood over his head. It yanked the collar around his neck. “What about this thing?”
Y/N observed the device. There was a small green light. It meant it was on. “We’ll figure it out once we are at school. They will get it off you.”
“What does it do again?” Logan asked.
“It suppresses our mutation. JJ cannot use his power while the collar is on,” Y/N explained.
“I can use the claws to slice through it,” he suggested.
Jerome’s eyes widened, and he gasped. “No,” Y/N said, shaking her head. “It’s dangerous. We don’t know what would happen if you’d try to destroy it like that.”
“Okay. We’ll let Hank and Jean have a look at it. They will figure something out.”

“Dark Water”
Chapter one: Darkness at the Door
The Bad Batch x Reader
Summary: Before they were the Bad Batch, they were just four misfits bred in a lab and deemed too defective to succeed. Five years before the Clone Wars, a Mandalorian warrior—one of many brought in by Jango Fett to train the Republic’s growing clone army—is assigned an unusual task: shape Clone Force 99 into something useful. But what begins as an assignment slowly unearths moral fault lines, personal connections, and the uncomfortable truth that these ‘defects’ are still just children with no say in the war they were born for.
The descent into Kamino’s atmosphere was like sinking into a living bruise. Stormclouds churned in every direction, and rain lashed the transport’s hull with relentless force, a rhythmic hiss that reminded you more of hydraulic steam than water.
You’d flown through worse. But it still felt unnatural.
As the pilot aligned for docking with Tipoca City’s landing ring, you stood at the rear of the shuttle, arms crossed, your beskar damp with condensation. Mandalorian armor always ran hot under pressure, but here, it simply felt heavy—suffocating in the artificial chill.
You didn’t bother to remove your helmet until the hiss of the airlock seal released. When you stepped into the sterile white hangar, you were met with the smooth gliding gait of the Kaminoan attendants, their dark eyes unblinking, their movements too fluid to be comfortable. One looked at you with a curious tilt of the head, as if studying a museum relic.
Behind them stood a man you hadn’t seen in years.
Jango Fett.
Still armored, still coiled like a spring, still unreadable beneath the edge of his Mandalorian visor. He stepped forward and gave a nod that passed for welcome.
“Glad you came.”
“I owed you,” you replied, your voice flat through the vocoder. “And I’m curious.”
He gestured for you to walk with him, away from the docking pad and into the bowels of the facility.
“Curiosity’ll get you far here,” he said. “Just keep your mouth shut in front of the whitecoats.”
You snorted. “That’s never been my strength.”
“Wasn’t mine either. That’s why you’re here.”
You followed him deeper into the labyrinth of white corridors—cold, gleaming, and lifeless. Kamino didn’t bother with aesthetics or morale. Efficiency ruled. There were no colors beyond white and grey. The silence was heavy, broken only by the occasional hiss of automated doors or the soft clatter of clone cadets moving between drills. Identical boys. Identical voices.
But you hadn’t come for the standard ones.
“You brought in others,” you said, eyes scanning the clinical halls. “Mandalorians. Mercs. Old friends.”
“Most of them washed out,” he replied. “Or couldn’t handle the Kaminoans breathing down their necks. They’re not looking for heart out here. They’re building weapons.”
“And what am I training?”
Jango stopped before a sealed blast door. He keyed in a command, but didn’t enter.
“A squad,” he said. “Small unit. Four of them. Different from the regs. Genetically modified.”
Your head turned slightly. “More than the standard acceleration?”
He gave a tight nod. “Each one has a unique mutation. Done by design. Kaminoans call them Clone Force 99. Prototypes. Failed in their eyes.”
“But not in yours.”
“They’re effective. Unpredictable. Problem is—they don’t take well to regulation. Or… routine discipline.”
“So you want me to break them.”
He looked at you for a long moment. “No. I want you to shape them.”
You said nothing for a moment, then glanced toward the observation window beside the door. The interior room was empty now, but you could see the faint burn marks on the walls. Scorch marks. Impact dents. A combat simulation room, not built to simulate standard infantry.
“Where are they?”
“Rest cycle,” Jango answered. “And you won’t meet them today. First, you need to understand what they are.”
He turned and gestured for you to follow again. You passed a long chamber where cadets—young, probably six or seven in standard years—stood at attention before a drill instructor barking orders. Uniform in posture. Identical in voice.
“Not like them,” Jango said, nodding toward the clones. “Clone Force 99’s mutations go beyond just strength or speed. They were given autonomy. Traits you can’t program.”
You said nothing. You didn’t need to. Jango knew you understood—because you were the same. You’d fought in chaos. Led irregulars. Survived under no banner but your own.
Eventually, you arrived in the laboratory wing. Inside waited Chief Scientist Nala Se, her towering frame bent slightly forward, hands folded in front of her.
“Fett,” she greeted him first. Then her dark eyes shifted to you. “And this is the Mandalorian instructor?”
You removed your helmet and tucked it under your arm.
“I don’t do ranks,” you said plainly. “Call me what you like.”
Nala Se blinked slowly, her tone even. “Jango Fett has recommended you to oversee the combat conditioning of Clone Force 99. Your assignment begins with an observational phase.”
She gestured toward a nearby monitor. With a flick of her hand, four holo-displays lit up—each tied to a different clone.
“CT-9901,” she began, “possesses heightened spatial awareness, sensory enhancement, and reflexes. We believe this is due to a mutation in his neural mapping. He calls himself Hunter.”
The feed showed a dark-haired clone moving through a jungle course simulation, almost too fast to follow. He paused behind a holographic tree and lifted his hand slightly—feeling something. The feed’s bio-data confirmed heightened EM sensitivity.
“CT-9904,” she continued, “is a sniper-class clone with extreme visual acuity, skeletal modifications for stability, and a behavioral profile marked by cold efficiency. He refers to himself as Crosshair.”
That feed showed a leaner clone with a perpetual scowl, taking perfect shots mid-sprint, never missing a beat. The rifle was almost an extension of his arm.
“CT-9902 is known as Tech. Enhanced cognitive function, accelerated pattern recognition, and reflexive calculation ability. He is… uniquely articulate.”
That was an understatement. The feed showed the pale clone dismantling a live blaster in under ten seconds, rewiring it, and using it to hack a control panel.
“And CT-9903…” Nala Se paused for a half-second. “His physical strength exceeds all clone parameters. He is… emotionally unique. Calls himself Wrecker.”
The last feed nearly overloaded its frame as the large clone lifted a heavy training sled and hurled it across the sim yard, laughing.
You frowned slightly.
“They’re not just enhanced,” you said. “They’re completely divergent. This isn’t evolution—it’s experimentation.”
“Indeed,” Nala Se replied, her expression unreadable. “Your job is to test whether such deviation can be… weaponized.”
You crossed your arms. “You’re not just asking me to train soldiers. You’re asking me to civilize a storm.”
“They don’t need civility,” Jango said beside you. “They need control. Focus. Discipline from someone who understands what it means to be different.”
You stared at the frozen frames of the four misfit clones.
They didn’t need a handler. They needed a warhound.
You turned to Jango. “When do I start?”
The observation deck was cold.
Not just in temperature, but in design—glossy white walls, bright overhead lights, and a reinforced transparisteel viewport that stretched from floor to ceiling, allowing an unobstructed view into the combat simulation chamber below.
You stood with your arms crossed, helmet tucked under one arm, and your gaze fixed on the chaos unfolding beneath you.
“Simulation 04A: Urban siege conditions,” came Nala Se’s cool voice from the comm station behind you. “Objective: breach, secure, and hold all four zones. Timer: three minutes.”
A sharp tone echoed in the room below.
And then they moved.
Hunter was the first to sprint ahead, motioning silently to the others, a vibroknife already drawn. His black headband clung tightly to his brow, strands of unruly hair bouncing as he dropped into a low crouch and vanished behind cover.
Crosshair hung back, perched in a high corner of the sim room, balancing a training rifle almost too large for his frame. One eye closed. One held open. He didn’t speak.
Tech darted in the opposite direction, mumbling rapid-fire calculations under his breath, adjusting the scanner in his glove mid-run while slicing a fake terminal on the fly.
Wrecker? He just charged forward through a barricade, roaring with laughter as faux-debris scattered in his wake like leaves in a storm.
You blinked slowly. They were… coordinated. Sloppy in some ways—Hunter’s knife was over-extended, Crosshair’s shoulders were too tense, Wrecker didn’t check his corners—but still, for ten-year-olds?
Damn.
Jango stood to your right, arms folded over his chest, watching silently as his “projects” swept through the simulated zone.
“They move like they’ve done this a hundred times,” you murmured, eyes still locked on the viewport.
“They have,” Jango replied. “Twice a day. Every day. Since they could walk.”
You didn’t respond immediately. Below, Wrecker took a simulated hit to the shoulder. He laughed it off, grabbed a nearby training droid, and hurled it across the chamber. It shattered against the far wall.
Ten years old.
“It’s easy to forget what they are when you watch them like this,” you said quietly. “But they’re still just boys.”
Jango’s jaw shifted slightly. “They’re soldiers.”
“They’re children,” you shot back, turning to face him. “You can train them to kill. Train them to obey. But that doesn’t change what they are.”
His gaze was flat, unreadable. “By Mandalorian tradition, you were what—eight? Nine? When you started?”
You didn’t answer right away. The memory came unbidden: the biting cold of Concordia’s air, the sting of practice blades on bare arms, the weight of your father’s armor strapped to your back for the first time.
Finally, you said, “The difference is, I had a choice.”
Jango didn’t flinch. But something subtle shifted behind his eyes.
“You think I didn’t?” he asked after a pause.
You looked away, back toward the viewport.
Below, Crosshair dropped a final target with a clean shot between the eyes. Tech shouted something, gesturing toward a timer that had just run out.
Hunter stood, breathing heavily, a little scratched but alive. Wrecker lifted both fists in the air, victorious. Like it was a game.
You exhaled slowly. “They’re good. Raw, but good.”
“They’re better than good,” Jango said. “They’re alive. And in this war, that’s going to matter more than anything else.”
You glanced sideways at him.
“There is no war,” you said. “Not yet.”
Jango didn’t smile. “There will be.”

The next day you wait till around dinner time to head to the bar, you put on a fancy dress and some low heels, throw on some makeup and sigh. You stare at your reflection poking your stomach, hips and waist, you had put on one of those slender shapewear things too. You rolled your eyes opened the bathroom door a little harshly and grabbed your small purse.
“Let’s go” you grumbled hating this plan already.
“Actually, no, why the hell am I here?” You turn making Logan almost run into you.
“Never been on a mission before?” He asks.
“No?” You say frowning and he falters.
“You’ve been itching to get out the school” he says.
“How do you know that?” You ask, you’d only just gone to speak with Jean about it when you walked in on them both in her lab.
“Because-“ he growls a little pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Stay here” he says moving out the way.
“No, you said to come, so I will go” his lips curls up showing the two fangs he has.
“Omega” he grumbles as you walk out the motel door and to the car.
You had thrown on some perfume to go over your dulled scent, like hell you could flirt your way into a secret fighting ring. Better off getting your ass caught and thrown in there. You stare out the window till you arrive. When you enter you already hate it, your whole body tenses and you feel eyes. You forced Logan to wait at least ten minutes before coming in. You sit in a small booth finding yourself ready to flee and your hands overly hot. Logan walks in, cigar in his mouth, leather jacket over his shoulders. You take a small breath as he heads over to the bar. You didn’t look at him properly when you left the motel, jeans, plain white shirt and a leather brown jacket with boots. He orders so naturally and you wish you took the keys for yourself. You know he’s appealing, the few other women in the bar getting an eye full. You don’t blame them but the heat dancing on your palm says otherwise.
“Can I get ya something doll?” A older woman asks.
“Just a smoothie?” You ask and she smiles and nods. It was a bar cross restaurant you think from the dining tables to one side with the register and small display of foods and the bar and pool table on the other side. Logan starts talking around, grabs a pool cue and joins the game. You were truely going to hell for your thoughts as he bent over the table and striked the ball. The waitress comes with your juice and you thank her. You relax a bit, nobody’s on this side of the restaurant, the smoothie is nice and cold too though your head feels a little funny. You look out the window to the dusty car park figuring Logan could handle majority of this mission. You sigh a bit glancing back to Logan seeing a brunette woman by his side. She’s gorgeous, slim waist and body, nice sized boobs and ass, the dress complimenting her every curve and just the right amount of makeup on her face. She’s faking not knowing how to play, or she genuinely doesn’t know how to play as Logan shows her. He doesn’t do the whole get behind her thing and lean with her though, which makes her disappointed even if she gets one of the pool balls in the shoot.
Logan hates himself, he hadn’t realised you had never been on a mission and Charles sure as hell didn’t ask you and him to go. It was supposed to be Jean and him, but when you walked in shoulders tense and looking ready to burst again he decided you and him needed to get out. You’re quiet the whole ride, awkwardly trying to act normal as he forces himself not to smile at it. You don’t know how to act around him, he doesn’t blame you, he’s always been a cold hard bastard. When you have a shower he stares at the door wondering if you’d let him join you, he wants to fell your body so bad, feel those thighs around his head, sink his teeth into your flesh while you moan his name. He’s worked up even more now he swears, you’re too shy and kind for someone like him. Once the shower stops he sighs a little missing his opportunity, he frowns though when you take a long time in there and your anxiety peeks. It’s like he’s in tune with you and he gets up and knocks. Your response has him on edge and opening the door without permission. Seeing you in a towel, flushed and fresh out the shower has his dick hardening. Fuck he wants to smell you, breathe in that sweet scent he knows you have. He sees the syringes in the counter though and his face turns hard. It looks like something Hank cooked up which probably means it’s for your mutation. He gets snappy for no reason and growls when he does leaving you confused. He smokes even though it does nothing before going back inside and seeing you already tucked in your bed. He slides his shirt off and kicks off his shoes before he’s in bed too.
He lays awake, one hand above his head one resting on his chest, he hears you whimper a few times and frowns before you start to mumble panicked and your scent spikes. He’s up quickly and sitting on the edge of your bed, your over heating, he sees small flames dance on your face as it squints. He shakes you gently and you’re up quickly hands out. You burn his chest and he hisses. He hates how you instantly worry and sadden tears in your eyes. He heals easily though, he’d get burnt a thousand times if it meant to be this close. He curses your scent blocker, wants to set it on fire and throw the ashes far away from your reach. He wants to lean forward feel your lips against his, feel your heated body against his.
Watching you now sip whatever the hell that was in your cup and look outside a little calmed in that perfect black dress. He forgot breathing was a thing till his lungs demanded air. Your hips looked so grabable, the way your hair sat was perfect. You were safer over there than here while he talked and tried to gather information. A beta woman came up to him though, flirted with big brown eyes and innocence. He played along for a bit hoping to gather information, but he doubted she’d know, she wasn’t a mutant, nor did she smell like anything related to violence. He showed her how to shoot properly and she lost interest thankfully. He looked back to you, your eyes hard on the woman and pride swelled up in him. He saw small flickers of flame along your skin as you caught his eyes and looked away with red cheeks. He walks over, he doesn’t think anyone here has information. Slides in the booth while you frown a little still blushing.
“Come play” he cocks his head a small smirk on his lip’s and you choke a little on your drink.
“No thank you, I’m happy here with my smoothie, pretty sure the blonde wants a go” you gesture vaguely to the other side.
“Come on” he’s teasing, seeing if you’ll break as his nose flares a little catching something sweet that isn’t your perfume.
“Fine” you sigh.
This was a bad idea, agreeing to whatever evil plan the alpha conspired. You hate the looks the women give and think about going back.
“Logan-“ you say hesitantly but he’s already grabbed two pool cues and set up the table.
“Do you know how to play?” He asks.
“Vaguely, whoever shoots first, if they get a high or low in that’s their numbers, first one to get all there numbers in and then the eight wins” you shrug and see him with a small look of awe on his face.
“You shoot” he cocks his head to the table as stands casually.
“I’m not good at this” you grumble. You lean down and aim, hitting the ball harshly, too harshly, it ends up bouncing and you wish the earth would swallow you up.
“Too much force” Logan says.
“You go first” you get embarrassed and hurry away feeling your head spin a little again.
“Hey” the alpha holds your arm and you jolt a bit. You gulp a little feeling like everyone’s watching you with hatred that this handsome alpha is focused on you.
“Logan-“ you sigh looking to his face. He’s got some puppy dog look going on and you almost choke again. You take a small breath a small frown on your face, you could pick up more of his scent now.
“Just- you go first” you say quietly and he nods. He rearranges the balls and hits them easily, a high going in first.
“Guess I’m highs” he’s says and you nod going around the table. You lean down a little thankful this dress is below knee high. You aim a bit till Logan’s voice makes you jump.
“You won’t hit there” he says and you huff turning to him a small smile playing at his lips. He walks to you and your heart rate picks up as he slides his body easily around yours. Your cheeks flush instantly and realise he’s going to really show you how to shoot. Your mind kicks into override and you scramble out of his hold breathing quickly and he frowns.
“This was a bad idea, keys? Keys where’s the keys” you say rushed body hot as he hands you the keys. You rush outside letting the cool air calm your body and small flames flickering on your arms. You feel like crying and curse softly as you hang your head.
“You ok there doll face?” You frown looking to your left seeing an alpha leaning against the wall smoking.
“Yes, sorry” you say shuffling away a bit as you catch his scent with a small frown. Why was everyone’s scents stronger? You think back to last night body going ridged as you remember in your hastiness to put the serum away you forgot your anti-heat and scent blockers. Panic rises up in you, sure you’ve forgotten them before at the safety of the school where you had access to your room and a locked door.
“Logan” you mumble needing to get inside till the alpha nearby blocks it. You frown not use to this kind of treatment as he a smirk plays at his face. He looks ok you guess, bear a little messy, teeth a bit too yellow for your liking. You feel your hands shake and feel the heat of your flames along your skin.
“Sir I need to get back to my alpha” you lie and he glances to your neck scoffing.
“What alpha?” He leans closer as you back away, but he follows.
“This one” Logan growls behind him, pulling the man away from you and punching him. The man’s knocked out instantly and you take a small shaky breath.
“You ok?” He asks a frown on his face as you shake your head. Gods his scent, it flares with worry as he comes closer nose flaring, eyes narrowing.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t take-“ you take a small breath hugging your body, flames dancing across your arms.
“Hey, hey it’s ok” Logan comes closer large hands on your heated skin.
“You barged in and I panicked with the serum I forgot to take them” you feel tears in your eyes, you feel stupid. Logan has a frown on his face but he tugs you to him, arms going around your shoulders, a hand cradling your head. You shudder forced to breathe him in a small noise leaving your throat. You can’t help your arms going around him and nuzzling closed, wanting his scent all over you. You feel something prick your neck then and jolt.
“Logan” you slur as your body goes limp.

It could be... worse, you've decided. You could've ended up in much worse conditions-- for starters, you could've ended up dead, or mutated beyond recognition. Apparently, you're the only one in that facility to have considered anywhere near a success.
Still, your life was far from good-- if it could even be called that at this point. It was far from what the life of a normal person your age should be experiencing. You should be outside, sitting under a big tree and reading a book (like they do in movies), or staying inside and playing on your family's SNES (like you realistically know teenagers do).
But here you were, stuck in yet another facility. You'll at least admit that this was a massive upgrade from where you'd previously been, sure,
Deep down, you knew that-- no matter how pretty the cage is, even if it's covered in jewels and gilded gold; even if it sparkled in the sun and let you have a view of the outside world...
It was still a cage. Even if the sterile white tiles of the lab were replaced with lacquered hardwood floors, and the madness-inducingly white walls at every turn were replaced with different wallpapers and paint colors from room to room.
There were no other kids here-- you never saw anyone except the man who'd... rescued you. Even if it doesn't seem like much of an improvement, going from captivity in one place to the other, this was living like royalty compared to what you'd experienced prior.
Cramped bunkrooms, guns pressed to your back at any chance-- kids coming in and out, making friends only to never see them again; or witness them transform into something entirely unlike themselves. For their bodies to tear and morph, until they no longer looked like your friends.
Until they no longer looked human.
...And you guess, in the end, you don't like quite human either. You're much better off then any of the other kids, and on the surface you could almost pass as entirely human--
Except for your eyes.
They were reflective, like a nocturnal animal's were. Like the critters that sometimes rifled through your trashcans, and you mom would hand you a broom and tell them to get out of there.
But for a placed called Raccoon City, there was a hell of lot more opossums then there every were raccoons. You'd only every shooed away raccoons a couple of times-- hardly saw them for the most part, actually.

Pleasure of Your Company | Silco x Reader

Chapter 2 | The Cave
Summary: You are Singed’s child. It was with the death of his grandchild, that he became the man the Undercity knows. The man Silco hired. With the explosion of the lab leaving your father injured, you took his role until he could fill it himself once more.
“Uh, right there is fine, thank you.”
A box was placed on the cave floor. Glass inside of it tinged as it hit one another. The worker had choppy black hair. She was fairly broad and set the box down with ease.
She walked back outside to the cave where a car was. A man was in the back, skinny and lanky, handing her the boxes with a bit of struggle.
Beside the car, was Silco. He was overseeing as he was ought to do. His hands were tucked behind his back as he watched his henchmen unload the boxes.
You noticed a new addition though, one you had never seen before. A small girl, perhaps around the age of ten or eleven, with powder blue hair, holding onto her torso. Her eyes were wide as she looked around.
When she met your eyes, her brows spaced apart and pulled her eyes open wider. You waved at her. She looked around and hesitantly waved back. Her hand immediately tucked back into the safe embrace of her arm.
Silco tapped her shoulder as he began to walk past her. She immediately scrambled to keep up with his wide strides.
“Will this be adequate?” he asked.
You watched as the woman stacked boxes upon one another. “For the time being,” you answered. “Although, I am beginning to run low on ingredients.”
“What do you require?” he asked.
You simply handed him a premade list. Once it was in his hands you squatted down to the girl’s level. You took off your glove and stuck out your hand. You have her your name and asked for her own.
“Um,” she bit her bottom lip as she slowly took your hand, “it’s Jinx.”
“What a unique name for such a beautiful young lady,” you said.
Her face slipped into a look of surprise. Then for a brief moment, the sadness in her eyes lessened. She smiled, small and shy.
“These ingredients,” Silco said, “they’re not easy to come buy nor are they cheap.”
You tilted your head up. Your hand went slack and dangled between your knees as you rested your arm atop your thigh.
“What do you think I do when I’m not in the lab?” you asked. “With my father the more expensive route is the quickest to be taken.”
“I see,” he said to himself more so than anyone else.
With some tension broken, the girl, Jinx, seemed to let herself relax a bit. She walked away from you and away from Silco. She hoisted herself up onto the stool you used for work and began looking through your notes.
Your brows furrowed as you watched her. She used the tips of her shoes to swirl the stool from side to side. Evidently, she found nothing of interest.
She hopped off the stool. Her eyes wondered the walls. She spun in a circle to do so.
“What’s that?” she asked you, pointing toward the largest vessel in the room.
“That,” you said as you approached her, “is Rio. She is a rare mutation. It’s through her digestive process that I’m able to make what I do for. . .”
Your voice trailed off. You didn’t know how to refer to Silco in context to this child. Was she his daughter, his niece, was he a temporary or permanent caretaker? All questions you didn’t have an answer to.
“Cool.”
Her fingertips touched the glass. It was a careful, barely there caress.
“Neat.”
She hopped down, skipping the steps. She continued looking at things, asking questions with unfiltered curiosity. You answered every single one of them.
Silently, Silco watched how you interacted with her. When she was standing on the tips of her toes, you placed a hand on her torso to steady her without thought. Your answers weren’t simple and quick to get her to quiet. No, they were elaborate and, from what he could understand, truthful but not so complex she couldn’t understand. Your eyes didn’t leave her but it didn’t seem because you had distrust or disdain.
Interesting.
“Jinx,” he said sharply but not cruelly.
Her head swirled around to him after a moment’s delay. He tilted his head towards the car, now empty. She shook her own.
“Bye,” she said with a wave.
You waved back to her. “It was a pleasure to meet you,” and you meant it.
It had been a nice. . . Well, not trip through memories but it had been nice to have a child in your presence again.
Silco let Jinx into the car first. He allowed his eyes to soften a fraction as she scrambled to sit upright in the middle seat. It almost scared him how quickly he’d begun to care for this girl.
The door closed as he sat.
“I liked them,” Jinx said simply. “They were nice.”
“Yes, indeed so, it seems.”
There was more to you than he knew. He had never pried before because he simply had no reason nor care to.
The way you interacted with her though? That spoke to something. It wasn’t the way others had because others had simply not said anything or had some form of judgement.
“Who’s their dad? Why isn’t he doing things?” she asked.
“The Doctor,” he answered, “also known as Singed. He’s suffered from severe burns within the recent weeks.”
He felt Jinx still beside him.
“What happened?” her voice was small.
Silco looked down at her. Her bright blue eyes stared up at him. Her head was rested on his shoulder. She was so frail but he knew she was not weak.
“Experiment went wrong,” he said.
It was a small lie but worth the way she slumped in relief.
“I hope he gets better soon,” she said with the care for others only children truly held. It was pure and selfless.
When the car came to a halt, Jinx was on the way to nodding off. Silco brushed her bangs out of her face and patted her cheek. Her eyes opened, slightly unfocused.
“Come on,” he told her.
He let her take hold of his hand as he opened the door. She held it as the bell to the Last Drop rang and they ascended up the stairs.
She didn’t like to be downstairs. The beds that had been there when they’d arrived and the drawings pinned on the wall pointed to why. So, upstairs with what was taking change to become his office and one for his bedroom, Jinx was getting a place of her own.
For now though, he brought her into the office and placed her on the couch. He grabbed the blanket thrown over the back and pulled it atop her. She cuddled into it immediately, kicking off her boots as she did so.
Silco sat in a wooden chair that had been in the building when he took control of it. It was a bit short for his liking. He felt like he was sitting curled up in some child’s play set.
He’d need to fix that soon.
In the meantime, he pulled out the list of ingredients you’d given him. Plants that were near the edges of the Undercity, bottles of chemicals he’d probably send someone to Topside to get, extracts with little notes that you could extract it yourself from certain ingredients but it’d take longer. None of it inexpensive.
He sucked in a breath.
At the bottom, in smaller print, was a list of equipment lost to the explosion. Vials, measuring cups, syringes, storage holders, and much more.
He took an educated guess though, looking around your home laboratory, that you didn’t need it immediately. That and the fact you hadn’t mentioned anything yourself.
This was more so for his own personal benefit. A list of things to prepare for how much this loss would effect him.
He tapped the back of his knuckles. It would be a while before he was gaining instead of losing money for this.
It was alright though. It was for the cause.
A check in on Jinx (fully and completely asleep) before he slipped from the room.
He walked down the stairs and strode through the bar with purpose. Another flight taken, a descent into the place Jinx hated so dearly.
“How is she doing?” Silco asked.
“She should wake in a few hours.”
It’s not that he particularly cared for any sentimental purpose, anyhow. It would be a different type of loss to lose this one.
She’d jumped head first into his plans once she realized he had them and they were within reach. With her she brought others. He believed they’d stay whether she lived or died though.
She was devoted to the cause as he was. Ready to do whatever it took to secure it’s place in the future.
The loss of her arm would be a hurtle, certainly, but it was one he believed she could overcome.
“The others?”
“Are looking less lucky.”
“Hm. A shame.”

Unprofessional Necking
Peter Maximoff x Reader
Word count: 3.5k
Summary: You didn’t think being Hank’s assistant came with another perk, you were supposed to help advance the makings of medicine but there was a certain someone with prying eyes that couldn’t take them off you.
Warning;
Overall: Miscommunication in work place, idiots in love, goofy yet mature Peter, Peter being a hopeless idiot yearning for you, fear of being late, bookshelf nearly falling, Hank not having any fucks to give. Also there is a part in the story where there is a note from me if you are new to me!
AFAB Version: Unprotected p in v, praise, body worship, creampie
AMAB Version: Unprotected anal, praise, bodyworship creampie
Don't be stupid and use protection in real life to prevent std or unwanted pregnancies!
At first it didn’t bother you, those dark brown eyes following every movement of your but soon enough, your heart raced every time he was around. His charm and silly personality getting to you, he made it obvious that he liked you too. Calling you nicknames and trying to ask you out on dates, but to you it felt wrong. Peter was the Quicksilver, Hank’s kinda work friend.
Pushing around the beakers of chemicals and agar plates around is what you were doing, you had to work on finding new ways to advance medicine for certain students who have special ailments caused by their mutations. You felt it again, you were hunched over your desk writing down observations of the molds growing on plates and you could just feel his presence behind you. The feeling of his gaze roaming along your lab coated body.
“You know Mr. Maximoff it is quite rude to just stare at someone and not say anything,” You mumbled, the noise of the pencil of the room was finally companies by Peter chuckling, he was leaning against the doorway while looking at your back. He finally responds with his usual cheeky tone, “Why can’t I just watch the blue furry’s assistant? Also why with the formality? Just call me Peter, we aren’t coworkers or anything.”
“You are my boss’s work friend, there for I have to be professional with you Mr. Maximoff,” You muttered annoyed at how Peter always seemed to be in this flirtatious mood whenever he sees you. He loved pestering you, wiggling into your spaces and your thoughts. He watched you spun around in the desk chair to face him, he was wearing the blue and yellow uniform. He looked so different when you first met him, you were Hank’s assistant for 15 years, starting as an intern then after the apocalypse one of the newest x-men had eyes on you, Peter Maximoff, the Quicksilver. You both were in your early 20’s when you first met now, 10 years later and now both of you are in your early 30’s. Peter adopted a more mature look yet he still had his goofy dork charm.
His silver hair more tussled today as his goggles hung loosely around his neck, he put on the stupid pout and sighed dramatically, “I guess we have to be professional…”
The pout cracked into that smirk as he sauntered over, the sassy walk then he stopped in front of you.
“No one has to know about a little unprofessional loving, Hank most certainly doesn’t need to know about you are necking with. C’mon just one chance sweetheart.” His index finger lifted up, he gave you this look that made you contemplate on letting go of this professionalism and the other part made you want to slap the shit of him. He lowered his hands grabbing the arms of your desk chair giving you a crooked playful grin, to his disappointment though you gave the answer.
“No Mr. Maximoff.”
Peter hesitated before letting go of the chair and stood up straight, rubbing the back of his neck. The smirk was gone momentarily but was replaced with a small smile as he responded, “Yeah knew you would say that but I guess I will try next week. Have a good day sweet cheeks.”
He respected your answer, like the week before, like the week before that week and went on. You did like him back but he knew that maybe one day you will finally let go of the professionalism. He still felt disappointed every time but he knew that one day will be the day.
Hank was sick so you were left to manage the lab by yourself completely, you were going to lock the place up for the night. The soft hum of the lights, the clean white tiles, and the smell of cleaning agents all around you. You noticed that you forget to put one of the beakers away, it was one of the stubborn ones because Hank liked placing them on the very top shelf if the glass was clean.
“Just my fucking luck,” You mumbled under your breath, the glass was spotless meaning you had to somehow put it up on the top shelf. You always made Hank put these beakers away but he seemed to leave this one out by accident the day before. You were up on your tip toes, trying to place it up on the shelf. You almost got it up and the entire shelf began to wobble threatening to fall because how you were grabbing onto it. The sound of rattling and you almost dropped the beaker as the shelf began to tilt and began to fall towards you.
It was one of those moments where you didn’t know you messed up till shit goes down south. You opened your mouth to scream but then all the sudden you were sat on a chair across the room away from the shelf. The shelf rattled a bit but nothing feel over. A small gust of wind made your hair fly up, there was Peter. A concerned look on his face as he was also holding a now soiled bouquet of flowers, he was just planning to give you the flowers but he came right on time to use his speedster abilities to prevent the shelf from falling over and put the beaker away on the top shelf for you.
“Are you okay? I just came in here and the shelf was going to fall on you,” Peter began rambling as he set the messed up flowers down on the desk behind you. His hands then went your shoulders, checking for any injuries as if he was worried he was too late and maybe something had injured you. “Peter I am fine-”
“I just I-” Peter kept on going, he never felt the true fear of being late till now, what happened if he was only a few seconds late. That scenario began playing in his mind over and over again like a form of torture but then his thoughts were cut by you grabbing his hands, gently prying them off your shoulders. You made a firm contact and then reassured him, “Peter thank you.”
A few seconds past by and it was clear how much the speedster cared about you but then something came across his mind as a cheeky smile came across his face.
“You called me Peter instead of Mr. Maximoff. Does that mean you are no longer gonna be professional with me?” He cooed as he hoped maybe his good deed can score him that date, you gave him an confused smile and chuckle as you truly didn’t know how to react to his logic. It was so stupid, so idiotic, somehow so cute that he thought that the one deed can change the dynamic. It was so hard not to just say yes.
“C’mon sweet cheeks, pretty please?” He begged playful as he squeezed your hands in his, changing the positioning of both of his and your hands so his was a more romantic grasp. His hair was originally in a neat comb over but now it was in this messier version. (Dark Phoenix version if you can’t visualize it but make it slightly messy.)
“Peter I can’t just-” You began to chuckle and trying to find a way to convince them why they couldn’t pursue anything romantic due to professionalism. He obviously didn’t care, professional was definitely not his style. He lived on chaos so rules rarely went into consideration.
“Why not, please?” He cooed as he brought your hands up to his lips, kissing your knuckles with a sly smirk on his face. Somethings never change about him, convincing this man would take years or centuries. Your heart pumping faster and face was getting a whole lot warmer as you began to just crack. “I uh…”
Peter noticed this, he gently opened your hand and kissed every finger tip then your palm while maintaining this somewhat serious yet suave eye contact. He wanted you, craved you. He thought your eyes were stunning and the way you laugh made his heart beat like a hummingbird. He was whipped and sure it wasn’t the most obvious but in this moment it became clear as day that none of the times of him flirting was ever a joke.
He soon decided to try something more bold, he began kissing up your arm as you struggled to force yourself to stop him. You had to be professional not fall to the temptation, this was like a forbidden fruit you weren’t supposed to take but why does it have to feel so good. His lips met your shoulder before he whispered softly wanting more, “Please, no one has to know.”
You shouldn’t have because you had this feeling that maybe it wouldn’t be a one time thing, you allowed Peter into your home. The rush to the bedroom, hands roaming everywhere and the sound of Peter’s soft chuckles. He enjoyed finally getting what he so heavily craved. His hands stopped at your hips and he pulled his lips away from yours, his thumb caressing you, threatening to go under your shirt as he asked, “Do I have your permission to go further sweetheart? I am fine with just cuddling.”
Your voice caught in your throat as this was the moment, what if you lose your job by doing this but hey you were just kissing him so if you lose your job, lose it in lust.
“You have my permission Peter,” You answered finally, the corners of his eyes crinkled up as he smiled. The floorboards creaked and the sound of shoes shuffling around as they were getting kicked off. Peter’s hands on your body with murmured praises, he wasn’t letting his chance go down badly for you, he wanted it to benefit both you and him. His hands slipping the lab coat off, letting it spill onto the floor. Your body bumping onto the ledge of your mattress, your hands cautiously moved along his body, allowing yourself to succumb to your needs.
Passion and romance in the air, Peter was helping you unzip his uniform. The yellow and blue suit being thrown onto the floor with your coat, then joining was your shirt and pants.
Okay quick interruption for my freaky individuals. I will write two parts since I am aware that not everyone has the same parts. I will write one where the reader insert has le coin slot and the other has a joystick. The pronouns will stay gender neutral and the body type i will try staying as neutral as possible, look for a massive paragraph breaks. If I mess up about anything regarding about the female anatomy please tell me, I would rather someone tell me than just let me sit in ignorance. There is an ending to this whole thing fyi so you may have to skip over a bit if you aren’t into f/m or m/m sex or just sex in general, okay resuming back to the story
AFAB version
Peter’s hands roamed along your stomach, his mouth traveling along you neck, his touch practically worshiping every inch of skin he could access. The two of you get into the bed, under the covers as the last few articles of clothing come off. Peter was definitely visibly excited, his cock ready for what Peter called ‘Necking’
It started off slowly, surprisingly coming from Peter but he didn’t just do what every idiotic man driven by lust does and just shoves it all in, he instead starts slowly with just a little bit of foreplay and more praises.
“You look atomic sweetheart,” Peter whispered as his hands caress your thighs, parting them so he could be between them. His eyes wandering around just admiring what he thought was a master piece. The soft vibration coming from his finger tips as they traveled down between your legs to your clit, he wanted you to feel good first. Leaning down to bury his face in your neck as he planted kisses. Your eyelashes began to flutter and everything work related finally left you alone as you allowed yourself to stop stressing.
“Peter…” Soft shaky exhales as your hands went to Peter’s back, nails pressing into his skin with subtle rocking of your hips trying to urge more friction. Your body creating it’s natural lubricant for his waiting cock, he mumbled sweet nothings under his breath or questions; ‘That’s it sweetheart’, ‘Do you like this?’, and ‘You look heavenly.’
The bed creaked under the shifting weight of the two of you as Peter moved himself closer to you, he craved you in so many ways that words and actions could never bring enough justice.
“Peter I am ready for you now,” You murmured as one of your hands ran through his silvery locks, he takes this as a cue to just shift himself closer. His hand stopped vibrating and he used it to guide himself in, easing in with the pair of moan and hushed whispers. Hugging your waist while slowly thrusting, refraining from just going to town on your pussy.
“Fuck mmm- sweetheart you feel so good,” Peter groaned, sounding a little whiny. He loved how you squirmed under him, he made sure to do whatever you needed. Those moans of his name drove him insane.
“Just like that Peter,” You mewled between thrusts, you bet that Peter didn’t change a single thing even when he had the urge to go faster or harder. He adored how you looked in his arms under him, his eyebrows knitted in concentration. The room felt like it was getting hotter by the second, the room being filled with the sounds of sex. Kissing your jawline before kissing you to swallow all those moans made the experience better.
He could feel your body tensing up, on the verge of going over the edge. He loved how you were getting more vocal and how your nails dug into his back. He was going to check out the evidence on his back later, he focused on every little thing about you. Then he stilled after one last thrust, deep in you with a loud groan. Coming down from the joined high, the room was filled with pants. Peter chuckled softly, his dark eyes looking down at you. He had this stupid whipped and dorky smile on his face, there was no way that he was treating this as mere casual one time sex. He was definitely head over heels.
“You are so damn hot and sexy,” He mumbles as he just rests his face into your shoulder, softly kissing your skin. You were just processing the fact you had some ‘necking’. It was definitely mind blowing and you were most likely going to come back for more.
AMAB version
Peter’s ran his hands along your sides before scooping you up by your thighs, his lips meeting yours in a passionate kiss. A messy passionate series of kisses that soon went to your neck and collarbone, his silver hair falling before his eyes. Carrying you over to the bed, getting in and dropping you so you were under him, with him being positioned between your legs.
“You are so atomic sweetheart,” He mumbled between kisses, he could feel the tent in your undergarments and enjoying your body’s reaction to his touch. His hands fondling your thighs, calloused fingers running down your skin. The bed creaked as the two shifted around and you were under the sheets and covers of your bed. The way his hand went to your undergarment, sticking two fingers under the elastic band of the clothing as he gently tugged them off with a little maneuvering around. His boxers also came off as well, you could feel him against you but before he did anything to please himself, you were the number one priority.
He first began by testing out the waters as he used his own saliva as makeshift lubricant since he doubt you had any on stand by for this occasion. It was slow easing two fingers in, the mild discomfort on your face made him pause momentarily to check if you were okay.
“Hey tell me if it ever gets uncomfortable, I wouldn’t want you getting the idea I don’t care about you,” Peter speaks up as he had loving expression on his face, his messy silver hair making him look more softer. His free hand goes to one of your hands, interlocking fingers giving your hand a reassuring squeeze. First it hurt to have his fingers in you but then soon he knew how to work those fingers. Loving how you mewled his name and squirmed just from his touch.
He was worshiping your body, bring the hand he was holding to kiss your knuckles, whispering against your skin praise or asking you simple questions; ‘That’s it sweetheart’, ‘Do you like this?’, and ‘You look heavenly.’
He massaged your prostate with his fingers, his body having the natural reaction to arousal. His waiting cock waiting for a little bit of ‘necking’ then you finally gave him the go sign that you were ready by mewling, “I am ready Peter, please…”
Peter just did what you asked of him, sheathing himself deep inside, every inch filling you to the absolute brim. He started slow but each time it just send waves of pleasure within you because he knew where it felt good. His self control was being tested, he knew that he had to be gentle and needed to be gentle but there was a part of him that just wanted to take you and just go to absolute town on your ass like there was no tomorrow.
Hushed whispers of encouragement and noises of pleasure filled up the room. It just felt so right and nothing could stop Peter, he wants you and he wants you to like him back openly. His eyebrows knitted in concentration, one hand on your hip and the other holding your hand tightly, squeezing it with each thrust.
He loved watching your face contorting with pleasure, he was going to treat you like a god. His lips pressed against your jaw and he hears you whine after a specific deep thrust, “Peter keep doing that…”
He does what you say, it doesn’t take that long till he notices that you are on the brink of going over the edge. His kisses peppering every part of your skin and he practically melts at the sounds you make as you topple over the edge, crying out his name in a way that makes him feel like he wants only more of you.
His thrusts getting sloppy as he witnesses your cock spurt ropes on his stomach and he just stiffens up with a soft grunt. His eyes fluttering as he finishes, there was a standstill where the room was filled with pants. You knew that you didn’t just want a one night stand like Peter, this necking and all the flirting just made it feel like something else had to happen. Losing your job or not.
End part
You were strolling to work extremely nervous and paranoid, you felt like everyone knew who you did all weekend long. Entering the cold lab felt like a practical sign that you were going to lose your job.
Hank was working at his desk and just mutters a small ‘hi’, he of course doesn’t know jackshit but it’s the overthinking that makes you walk up to him and start apologising profusely, “Hank I’m really sorry I did something incredibly unprofessional and I just really want to keep my job but I know you want to keep the work place built with honesty!”
Hank was startled and just listened to your rant, he thinks you have lost your marbles and he doesn’t understand why you are apologising. He doesn’t know you slept with Peter, he stops you with a quick wave with his hand and asks, “Please explain what you did, depending on what it is, I can decided on a punishment whether it be having you work more hours.”
“I want to start a relationship with Peter but I know that it’s unprofessional of me,” You blurt out with cheeks flushed red with embarrassment, the blue man just stares at you blankly. Hank quite literally gives zero shits with who you spend time with or sleep with at all, he can’t talk because he has dated a few of his coworkers before too. Peter wasn’t even your coworker.
“I don’t really care, get to work on cleaning the glass slides,” Hank told you as he just gets back to work writing down the data tables for the medicine reports and evidence.

Chapter 1 — Beneath the Surface
Resident Evil: Sable Dawn
“Sometimes the only way out is through…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
12:46 AM
As the dust settled, Y/n let out a grunt and shoved a broken support beam off her shoulder. Her headlamp flickered, casting uneven light as she coughed into her arm and looked back at the wreckage.
The corridor behind them had collapsed—steel and concrete sealing them in like caged beasts.
“We’re trapped,” she said, her voice quiet.
Leon brushed gravel off his shoulder and sighed, “Looks like it.”
Y/n’s gaze fell on him—watchful and calculating. His face was composed, but she noticed the tension in his jaw was back and how his eyes roved their surroundings.
He didn’t panic, but she could tell he was worried.
She pulled a flashlight from her belt and held it out to him, “The battery’s good,” she began, tapping her headlamp with her finger, “Mine’s acting up.”
He nodded silently, and their fingers touched briefly as he took the small light. It was nothing—barely a moment—but her heart skipped a beat.
Stupid, Y/n…Stay focused.
“You okay?” he asked, not as small talk, but with a deeper meaning. With Leon, it always held more significance. He studied her face, as if he already knew the answer, as if he had memorized every time she hadn’t been fine.
Y/n straightened, her ribs flaring in protest, “Nothing feels broken.”
“Good,” He paused, then added, “We should move. If that was a prototype, there could be others.”
Stepping into a narrow maintenance tunnel, Y/n and Leon found themselves in a tight, damp, and condensation-coated space. The air reeked of decay and rusted metal, and as they moved, Y/n’s eyes followed Leon’s silhouette ahead.
He was methodical, alert and familiar.
Too familiar.
Three Years Ago – Siberia, B.S.A.A. Blacksite E-47
Snow had been falling the first time she met him.
The mission had gone south when a convoy was lost in a blizzard. She was left for dead, crushed under a flipped truck, bleeding and freezing, until a lone figure emerged from the white and hauled her out.
He had said, “You’re not dying here. Not like this.”
Later, when the B.O.W.s attacked, they fought side by side for two days straight.
With no sleep and no backup, they were left with each other, fighting for their lives.
She never told him, but near the end, she began hallucinating—seeing fire dancing in the snow. He grabbed her hand, pressed a comm into it, and said, “Hold the line, Ivy. I’ll get us out.”
And he did.
She owed him her life…
What terrified her more was the extent to which she was willing to give it in return.
Present – Geneva Underground
The tunnel led into an old bay, filled with rusted scaffolding, rotting electronics, and documents partially dissolved by mold.
Y/n’s eyes roamed the room, but then stopped, “Leon, over here.” She waved him over.
He crouched beside a wall streaked in blood, joining her.
Above them, a message smeared in crimson read:
WE ARE NOT HUMAN ANYMORE
Beneath it, several photographs were pinned—of scientists, soldiers, and even children—all labeled with codes and timestamps.
Some were crossed out and others weren’t.
“This was a lab,” she whispered, “They were tracking mutations—survivors.”
Leon’s face turned grim, “Someone was recording their progress.”
“Not just B.O.W.s… These were volunteers, or used to be,” Y/n frowned, looking at the pictures, but then her attention was quickly averted to the static that crackled in her comm.
“…-Vy. Ivy. If you’re hearing this—don’t trust—”
The message cut out and Y/n froze again.
“Replay that,” Leon said, looking down at her.
She tapped her wrist comm, “Leon, I can’t… it wasn’t on a recorded channel.”
Leon’s eyes locked onto hers, “Who was it?”
Y/n’s voice dropped, “My sister.”
_
Y/n “Ivy” Cross, formerly a field scientist, had a life-changing event two years ago, during a UN-sanctioned biotech mission under Umbrella Europe, her sister, Dr. Margot Cross, vanished.
Official reports claimed that Margot had died in a lab fire at their Montreux facility.
Y/n never bought it, not one bit.
The mission after—that’s when she met Leon, an unauthorized pursuit of a lead she shouldn’t have chased.
She had been searching in secret ever since.
Until now.
Leon stepped closer, “If Margot’s alive, we’ll find her. Together.”
She didn’t answer, but her eyes shone with emotion.
“I mean it, Ivy,” he said softly, “You’re not alone.”
His words pierced through the emotional armour she had crafted over the years. Their eyes met, and something shifted. There had always been tension between them—lingering glances, heavy silences, jokes with meaning, and many unspoken things passed between them.
Though, down here, with blood-streaked walls and monsters lurking just beyond the light, the tension was electric.
Y/n took a step forward, “Leon…”
But a sound had snapped the moment in half like a piece of plywood breaking over someone’s head.
Click-click…
The lights went out.
Silence.
Then—a scream.
It was inhuman and near.
Just in time, they turned to see a massive creature slam through the ceiling vent—faster and larger than the last one.
Leon shoved Y/n back and fired upward, “Move!” he yelled, retreating toward an access door.
She rolled, drawing both of her pistols, and fired into the creature’s torso.
It didn’t drop, it didn’t even flinch.
“We’ve got a hybrid,” she gasped, “No decay—it’s fresh.”
The monster lunged and Leon tackled Y/n, crashing them into a splintered crate as claws ripped the space where she had just been.
They scrambled to their feet, shaken and scared, “We can’t fight this here,” Y/n shouted, “We need height!”
Leon nodded, “There’s a ladder, back left.”
The creature followed on all fours, its rusted saliva falling from its jowls as they ran towards their only escape.
They climbed, hand over hand into the dark unknown, adrenaline surged—but so did something deeper.
Death was hot on their heels, and something far more dangerous was brewing between them—a bond that transcended mere survival and loyalty.
Something undeniable, something real.

Logan headcanons u say...
I think Logan is such a big animal lover and animals love him.
Also im psyched about my spider girl reader fic with Logan so ive been doing research in his relationship with spidey and omg its so cute they're such a good pair.
This is relevant bc theres actually a story with them where they team up and Logan is there to stop hunters from killing these animals while spidey is solving a series of murders and Logan is super protective of the animal that everyone thinks is killing ppl
ugh i love this man sm
HI ROSE!!!
NO I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!
Also Im excited as well!!! They sound like an adorable pairing- I actually saw smth once where one of the spidey people said that he is hell of a kisser LMAO. You come up with the best stuff so I know you're going to do great with this fic!!!!
Logan with Animals
Tumblr media
a natural instinct comes to logan to protect the innocent i think
and that DEFINITELY includes animals!!!
I believe he has a natural connection to them due to his mutation!!!
dogs, cats, deer, rabbit, mammals are probably the ones he likes the most BUT he'd definitely protect a fish too!!!
Good luck to any asshole that tries to be mean to an animal in front of him. he WILL kick their asses
he isn't OBVIOUS about his care for them. He'll still have that "We dont need a cat" attitude, but of course be besties with said cat lol
ocassionally you'll catch his soft spot. clicking his tongue at the feral alley cat so he could pet them. talking to a little squirrel thats sitting nearby. maybe whistle back to that little songbird
animals are relaxed with him too. They know the good vibes.
he talks to them like people sometimes! hes talking to a dog and hes like "Cmon bub, you absolutely know better than that." (snatched his sandwich off his plate)
fun fact about me- i am SUCH an animal lover. and so is my family. My mom used to work at a local petstore, and she'd bring home pretty much the loners!
rabbits, frogs, cats, birds, chinchillas
i had mice, bunnies, and hermit crabs growing up!
of course we have cats and dogs too
if thats you (i actually have an ask buried about a reader who brings pets home all the time to logan!) logan would be SO exsperated but then is like "okay but i guess they're cute"
he's not afraid of them either
will yoink a snake (Gently)
will get extremely close to an alligator
doesnt get offended when attacked by random chance. he just heals and was like "well now you feel stupid don't you."
but he doesn't get angry because he knows what its like to be scared and alone
anyhoo like I said he would be so protective of animals!!!!
obviously wolverines are predators but i think he has a soft spot for prey animals!!!
imagine him with a little bunny !!!!!!!!!
Bottle feeding newborn kittens you found in the alleyway, you brought mom in too- but you got kitten milk to help keep the babies healthy!!!!
he is on it every 2 hours. weighs them and everything. so gentle and careful and he reassures momma cat that he'll return her baby promptly
and yes, he has NO patience for any type of abusers or any kind of cruelty towards animals!!! he will hunt them down
imagine a mission involving a lab that was using animal testing, he'd get SO ANGRY. of course you all set them free, get them to the proper places to fix them up and find them good homes/habitats but lord he'd still be so livid. will beat the shit out of those responsible!!!!
man he just does have a soft spot for the cute fuzzy babies. hes on the floor on his belly with those newborn babies from earlier, they're opened their eyes and ears and starting to walk again and they're climbing over his arms and hands
based on a true story with me : one of them gets extremely attached to logan and SCREAMS everytime they see him because they want his attention!
of course you guys kept that one
your pets are allowed on the couch and bed of course. why wouldn't they be?
they only get the best food too btw. none of this cheap dollar store crap
animals just make him happier. they accept him more easily than people do!!!
