I'm having. So many Uchiha Houhua thoughts. Like I know so much of his existence is geared towards survival but. The hc of Uchiha's use of war fans,I have to wonder if he ever finds him half heartedly fiddling with a delicate seeming Tessen, remebering an old friend now far gone, just as razor edged and yet still missed.

And it may be my own fondness for the concept of a spider summons but so much of spider behavior is "Please Leave Me Alone" which is very on brand for Houhua. Camouflage and careful, delicate and yet still so dangerous, setting invisible webs between leaves and waiting for the worse predators to pass. (Also using spider venom to fuck with his heartrate for the possum jutsu maybe?)

The entire concept is so delightful and I'm very thankful to have seen all your little tidbits on it

I think it's actually especially fun to think ab like. The difference in fighting style between (Japanese) Uchiha styled war fan techniques and (Chinese) Cang Qiong Sect war fan techniques. Not even counting the much more specific Qing Jing Peak style of fan techniques.

That also goes double for sword techniques, especially considering the plans for Houhua to go into sword smithing.

Houhua has literal decades of the Cang Qiong sect sword style engraved into his fucking bones. Into his soul, even, if you consider the whole 'cultivators swords are usually tied to their spirits in some way' thing.

He's going to have the worst time trying to switch to Uchiha sword styles-- though I think the sharingan + the unfamiliar, tiny body without all the muscle memory of his past life will help him at least get his footing

I. I cant lie to u, you are making an amazing argument rn for him having a spider summons. I love the idea sm, I am now faced w the ultimate dilemma of choosing between a spider contract or a rat contract.

On one hand, they both carry undertones of like 'there might be a bit more to see here than just a coward' bc of the associated (mostly negative) connotations of rats and spiders both being like, underhanded, sneaky, that sort of thing. But the spider tho,,, ough,, it also shows a side of implied manipulation that might be fun just from the angle of like.

Yeah you'd expect him to have some sort of rodent contract but hes actually been designated spider coded by the universe, actually.

I forget if I posted this snippet yet or if I only posted it on the discord but take this really quick:

So like. This moment, where Kabuto bets Houhua will get some form of rodent contract (for obvious reasons) while Hana bets he gets a fucking worm. But now make it even funnier bc they're both wrong and he got a spider contract.

This could also maybe play interesting into Houhua and Kabuto's sort of ongoing quiet squinting in eachothers direction as they both go 'this guy isnt as simple as he seems...' as Kabuto mentally recalculates some of Houhua's behavior

This also can just bring out a pretty fun "hey so lets talk about in universe stereotypes and associations when it comes to summoning animals" which I just think is fun. Like, culturally, what does it mean to have a contracted animal? Do some people treat it like they might astrology personality tests? Do some people think its just nonsense and pure luck or not that deep?

For some people it probably isn't that deep, while for others (specifically those who might come from families who always have the same contract, or others who sign blank contracts where they really are sent to an animal that matches them best) it really is a good way to try and analyze them

And like. Where does that leave Houhua?

This could also just be fun for when he interacts w Orochimaru, who fucking hates bugs (insert my own personal favorite hc here that he hates them largely in part due to the many times he was stuck inside his own rotting body, infested with bugs)

And like, Houhua and Orochimaru will inevitably interact, though I'm not 100% sure on how it goes just yet. But like. Houhua having a spider contract and Orochimaru coincidentally hating spiders. Could be funny.

You mentioned you'd like to make a time-travel addition to sgg, what exactly would this entail?

It’s not exactly a sequel to sgg, because I like sgg too much and what the overall stories are doing is just too different for me to make time travel au a direct sequel to sgg. I like sgg to exist as its own independent universe that’s sort of preserved from the events of the time travel au. But I also chronically reuse my backstories so sgg is still the backstory to the time travel au.

They’re alternative universes from each other, effectively. They had the same backstory but they exist independently from one another nevertheless.

Frankly out of all my current story ideas the time travel au or the fake dating au for bnha are my most likely that I’ll actually go through with writing one day. I’m currently not letting myself publish any more fics until I close up some of my ongoing wips. I love the time travel au so much tho that it’s my most likely contender for actually posting one day. So I won’t go into as much detail as I normally would, and warning for spoilers for a fic that I may or may not write one day below the line.

The idea is that Yuuji, Megumi, and Nobara are sent out on a mission one day. Foreign sorcerers are much rarer, Japan truly is the heart of jujutsu sorcery, but they exist, as seen by Miguel, and some British sorcerer nerd just went missing while on a research expedition to some deserted mountain shrine. Honestly borderline to be expected, he apparently had levels of cursed energy that were close to Ijichi’s, and frankly may have just twisted his ankle while walking down the mountain.

And Japan would send their best to go look for him, but honestly, they usually don’t. Haha, short staffed and all. Here, have a crack team of a bunch of fifteen year olds who have a hostile relationship with their own jobs at best.

So Megumi, Nobara, and Yuuji schlep up the side of a humid fucking mountain with rain clouds gathering overhead and mosquitos out in droves, generally discontent with their lives and wishing Ijichi could have somehow parked closer, walk into the shrine, and immediately find a giant pile of skeletons.

Which is. You know. A bit of a red flag.

One skeleton in particular catches their eye. It’s old and dusty as fuck. The skeleton is arranged with a hand outstretched towards words carved into the stone floor, stained with rusted blood. It looks like its last moments were spent carving the words into the ground.

But fuck if they know what they mean. The message is in English. Jujutsu high doesn’t teach English. Nobara’s village didn’t have an English teacher, Yuuji sucked at the topic, and Megumi was actually decently good at it for a time but he was heavily discouraged from having any marketable skills outside of jujutsu sorcery, to further trap him in his magic boy slavery.

It’s also just already hard to figure out what exactly it means. He’s working in a second language he hasn’t really had much practice in more than a year. And it’s in rough, uneven, scratched into the earth by the fingernails of a dying man print. That’s just hard to translate. He can make out some of it. It says something like:

The more ______ the _______ it gets.

Not really sure what the middle parts are. That’s all he’s really got.

The skeleton is also just weird? Its clothes are decayed but in modern style. It’s like find a mummy wearing clothes that’s obviously been down here for a thousand fucking years but is still somehow a North Face jacket.

But what hasn’t decayed is his laminated license that indicates he’s the guy they’re looking for

Megumi: so he’s dead

Yuuji: yeah

Yuuji, considering this all for a moment: we’re probably fucked aren’t we

Megumi, pinching the bridge of his nose: probably

But they’re going to try to survive anyway. They are starting to like how annoyed the higher ups get when they keep all coming back alive. Time to fuck off for the door.

Then Megumi realizes something. The license has his grade on it. And the dead man was not a grade four sorcerer. He was a grade one. The mission report was doctored. They sent them in here knowing that whatever was waiting had managed to overcome a grade one sorcerer. This is just the fucking detention center all over again.

Megumi: this was a set up. Run. Run—

The domain unfurls around them like a bear trap.

The curse of the shrine sits on a throne of bones and joints and twisted remains frozen in agony, and its skeleton smile always grins. It’s powerful, and obviously so—it feels more powerful than that volcano guy that Gojo took Yuuji to see, and more powerful than the curses that attacked their goodwill event.

And like. They are fucked. This is a curse only Gojo could handle. Maybe Yuuta. But them? They are cooked.

But it’s fine. They don’t have to fight it. There’s an alternative, you see.

It would like to play a game.

It was born of regret, of opportunity lost, of the mistake that carves itself into the walls of your mind and torments you with its presence. The truest wish it knows is the wish to change what you cannot. And it likes to give those it meets a chance to do precisely that.

It’s a game. A gamble. Each has something to win. It will send them back to correct one of their regrets. It will even let them pick which one. They will have a limited time to do it with, but they won’t know how much. However long their bodies can hold out beneath the curse.

And the curse is very generous. They’ll have endless chances with which to correct their mistake. If they fail on their first attempt? They can reset it. They can start over from the same moment the curse first dropped them in. They can try again, and again, and again, until the past is exactly how they always wished it was. Their only limit is the total time they have to complete their task with, which will eventually run out.

If they succeed, then they get to correct a past regret, and they win the game. But if they fail? They’ll join the curse’s court, which no one ever leaves. But don’t worry. They’ll have plenty of company.

So. Shall they begin the game?

Megumi: Nah, we’re good. Let’s fight.

Yuuji, sweating: hahahah. Can we have a second with him?

Nope. It’s fine. Megumi’s sure. They’re fighting. They’ll pass on the game, thanks. In fact, he’ll even let the curse know his opening move: He is going to kill them both.

Yuuji, sweating harder: can we PLEASE HAVE a SECOND with him

No, really, it’s fine. Megumi’s not doing the game.

He knows something’s fucking up with it. He doesn’t trust this curse.

This isn’t fucking fae rules. Curses can lie. They can break rules. And there is something wrong with this game if no one has ever won it.

There’s next to no chance someone’s ever won this game. Just about anyone would report a curse like this, and there is no way the higher ups knowingly sent the vessel of Sukuna in to deal with a curse that can change the past. The higher ups must have sent them here simply because they knew whatever was waiting had taken down a grade one sorcerer, and they thought maybe it’d kill them, especially if they weren’t expecting something powerful. They definitely didn’t know what this was, which means no one has ever reported it.

Somehow, every single dead body in this room played this game and lost. It won’t be fair. It will be rigged so they’ll fail it. By those terms, he won’t play.

Here is his counteroffer: They’re going to enter into a binding vow, the two of them. He plays its game, but it negotiates the rules and makes them binding. He wants a guarantee that he has a chance to win and a chance to walk out of here if he does. If it won’t agree?

If Megumi’s dying here today, then he’s dying. But he’s taking it down with him.

It knows what he is, doesn’t it?

It knows what he can do.

He will summon Mahoraga, and he will trap them both in its ritual. It will kill them both. Nobara and Yuuji can make a break for it as soon as Mahoraga arrives, and maybe they die, maybe they don’t. But Megumi has spent his whole life playing games that were fucking rigged against him from the start, and he is done. This time, they both get a chance to set the rules.

So. What will it be? Would it like to play? Or would it like to die?

The curse’s grin seems to widen. It seems pleased. It says to him, Zenin Megumi, welcome to the game, and he tells it that that is not his fucking name.

Negotiations are tense. The curse agrees that they must be delivered to a time and location where their task is possible in the given limits. It can’t just send them back to the right day and dump them in the middle of the ocean on the other side of the planet. They have to be within a given radius of their task. They get to have enough information to make their task possible, but it doesn’t have to go past that. And if they win, the curse must free them, but in exchange, they cannot try to exorcise the curse.

The curse refuses to reveal what happens the current timeline if they actually change the past. Does it create a new timeline? Do they write themselves out of existence? Does it destroy the space time continuum?

The curse won’t say. Part of gamble is risk. It’s up to them to decide what prizes are worth the danger.

And Megumi decides the risk isn’t worth it.

He wants to gamble it all. He’s got enough regret in his life to drown in. He’d give anything to make the task going back to save his sister before she was cursed. Or to stop Yuuji from ever eating sukunas finger. But they can’t. He’s so fucking sorry, Itadori, but they can’t. This isn’t just about the risk to themselves. They risk destroying reality just by trying this.

(Yuuji, who wanted to go back and save Junpei, didn’t actually think of going back to stop himself from eating the finger: oh uh right man of course I get it)

They need something small. They need something meaningless. They need something that would make no major changes to the timeline and could feasibly return them to the same world they left. Something that would never actually interfere with their past. Something that would have them ultimately making the same sorry decision to walk up these steps and end up facing off with this curse. That gives them the best odds of avoiding a world ending paradox.

And Megumi thinks he has it. There was some random ramen place that they had been thinking about trying but which closed before they could. They’d been disappointed to realize they’d lost the chance. That’s a regret. And it’s such a minor one that they can achieve it in minutes. They’ll go back in time to before it closed, order quickly, scarf it down, and win the game. It’s perfect.

But before he can say this out loud, Yuuji says, “haha we could always go back and punch fushiguro’s shitty dad in the face.”

THE GAME IS SET, says the curse, quickly, before Megumi can say anything else.

WHY YUUJI JUST SAID THAT:

And Yuuji hates fushiguro’s fucking dad he hates that guy so much and he has vivid fantasies about punching that fucking guy in the face

Okay admittedly he has no idea who fushiguro’s dad is or what he looks like but if he did it would be on sight

Yuuji and Nobara had been trying to unlock Fushiguro’s Tragic Backstory to middling success. You could not waterboard an honest statement out of him. He shared no information about his life. They didn’t even know he had a sister until they went to his old middle school and someone else brought her up and then they found out that, oh yeah, his sister is like, his whole reason for living, he just never mentioned her. So they weren’t all that surprised when they were finishing up a mission and some guy shows up? Who’s from the Zenin clan? And acts like he knows Megumi? And Megumi’s apparently Zenin too? Wow, that sure sounds like another piece of relevant life information that Megumi just never mentioned?

The guys nice enough. He says it’s good to see Megumi. He says he’s certainly grown up. He says that the clan was hoping to see him more. They’d all been so happy to spend this last Christmas with him, and they were hoping he’d make a habit of it. It really was the best Christmas any of them had had in a long time. They all cherished the memory of it, really. He’s always welcome back home, does he know that? They will never stop waiting for him.

Ijichi pulls up. He seems tense. He tells them they have to return to jujutsu tech immediately. It’s urgent. Get in the car.

Megumi doesn’t talk the entire ride back. He goes to his room without looking at either of them. None of this concerns Yuuji or Nobara, because they’re used to him being quiet or needing alone time. It’s pretty normal after missions, really. None of it seems to be all that important.

Everyone else proceeds to lose their entire fucking minds

Ijichi calls Gojo, who abandons all of his duties and comes back to the campus. He disappears into Megumi’s room for a long time, and when he comes out, you could feel his anger from the other side of campus. He goes to Yuuji and Nobara to get what exactly the guy said from them based on their independent recollection. It makes him angrier.

Fucking Nanami comes to the school to talk to Megumi about what happened, and he is visibly pissed. All of the second years are flitting around like a disturbed hive of wasps. None of them will tell Yuuji or Nobara why. And Nobara overhears Maki arguing on the phone with Okkotsu, who is apparently trying to fly back from Africa to kill people over this, which Maki is apparently okay with and supportive of but which Megumi has insisted is not necessary and they don’t want to upset him, especially after everything that happened. What is everything? No one will tell Yuuji or Nobara.

This all seems to be a disproportionate reaction to a family member saying they were glad to see Megumi at Christmas and hope to see him again soon.

Absolutely no one will fess up to what happened. Everyone tells them, for Megumi’s sake, to stop asking and stop trying to find out. He’s private. He’s definitely not thrilled everyone else knows what happened. It would hurt him if Yuuji and Nobara knew too.

It’s an enormously tense time for a bit. All missions get canceled because Gojo isn’t letting anyone off campus until it gets resolved. Megumi gets quieter and quieter the more people spiral over this. He spends a lot of time in his room. Okkotsu Yuuta that boy hogging son of a bitch keeps calling him and talking to him for hours and hours because apparently Megumi can find comfort in him but not in Yuuji but also Yuuji is admittedly more okay with this because he wants Fushiguro to have comfort in someone he just doesn’t see why it has to be Okkotsu that perfect son of a bitch who is living yuuji’s dream life

In the end, Megumi tells them that the Zenin clan aren’t allowed to see him anymore. It’s a very hard rule that they broke by approaching him after the mission. No, he doesn’t want to talk about why. Please don’t go trying to find out why. He doesn’t. He doesn’t like how many people know, okay? He doesn’t. They’re just testing the waters and pissed that Gojo is actually enforcing the ban against them, because, well, he guess it’s because they feel entitled to him. His dad sold him to them when he was a kid, and Gojo interfered before they could take custody of him, and they’d been hacked off ever since. He guesses they can know that, because everyone fucking does. Every single sorcerer in the business knows, because it was a fuck-off big scandal, and one of them is going to tell Yuuji and Nobara sooner rather than later, so he might as well be the one to do it. Can they stop talking about this now?

And so they do. They just don’t talk about it anymore. Something happens that culminates in Yaga yelling at Gojo and Gojo yelling back, and then missions start up again, and none of them ever ask what happened or bring it up again. And Megumi seemed really fucking grateful for that

Anyway Yuuji and Nobara don’t have enough information to know who exactly to hate for whatever happened to Their Boy, so they’ve pinned all their incandescent hatred on megumi’s shitty fucking dad who sold him into boy slavery. Fuck that guy.

They want to kick his ass so so bad. They don’t know who he is or where to find him, because Megumi hasn’t seen him in so long that he doesn’t really remember him. He thinks he fucked off with the money and never checked in again. Sounds like him.

Anyway Yuuji was trying to not think about Junpei and how badly he wants to save him and his mind was sort of wandering and he started thinking about how much he regretted not having a chance to punch Fushiguro’s fuck off shitty awful fuck of a dad before potentially dying at the hands of a time curse and he didn’t think it would lock them in okay it was a joke a joke

But it did. And now. They are in.

Chapter Six

The next morning, you found yourself unusually attached to Wanda, refusing to let her out of your sight. You had always disliked the idea of being clingy with the few friends you had, but with your mind in disarray from the events of the previous night, she was the only bastion of comfort you knew. Playing your games only reminded you of your suspicions, and the fact that you could only watch hard copies of anything had the same effect. Instead, you longed for the witch to hold you, alleviating your treacherous thoughts. Unfortunately, you couldn't express this to her without giving away what you had discovered, so instead you clung to her side whenever possible.

Not that Wanda minded, of course. If anything, she was wondering why she hadn't thought to arrange a little home invasion or something to draw you into her arms sooner. But better late than never, right? The witch cooed and fawned over you in her native Sokovian every time you pulled her back to you when she started to get up or go to her garden. Part of you wanted to ask her for a translation - she always called you some nickname or another - but you never had any idea. Another part just savored the way her language rolled off her tongue. You began to consider that you didn't need to know exactly; you could grasp the gist of it well enough.

Wanda, on her part, began sharing more of her work with you. She didn't reveal everything, of course, but she would show you snippets, especially since you were so intent on being by her side. She wanted to make you more familiar with what she was doing. The witch would demonstrate how she observed the multiverse using one-way portals she would conjure, to ensure your protection from external dangers. Naturally, Wanda made sure to only show you versions of the Avengers who would actually be a threat to you, who were truly evil in their universe. She hoped this would sway you further to her side, seeing the atrocities they would commit, the powers they wielded.

For sure this made you fearful of the Avengers. However, you never forgot what Wanda initially told you about her origins, her experiences with her versions of the Avengers, and your own involvement. The current situation didn't align with what Wanda had previously shared, sowing doubt to further creep into your heart and mind. These individuals were supposed to be heroes, just like Wanda once was. So why were they now posing a threat to you specifically?

That's what you couldn't understand. All Wanda seemed to care about was keeping you by her side, keeping you safe. But why would the "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" have any interest in you? You weren't a villain. Incapable of harming even a fly, you had never harmed anyone in your life, despite times when you should have defended yourself. So if they didn't want you, then who did they want?

Your gaze turned from the portal Wanda was observing to the witch herself. Could they want Wanda? You had witnessed what she had done in Westview, but she had done the right thing in the end. Surely that counted for something, not just in terms of morality but also with these so-called-heroes. Wanda wasn’t a villain.. Was she?

As you looked at her focused figure, you reflected on all the ways she had supported you. Openly confessing to journeying through multiple universes just to locate you; she rescued you from an abusive family, shielded you from the monotonous 9-to-5 existence, and brought you to your new home. Throughout your time together, Wanda had consistently shown nothing but care and affection, fulfilling your every desire. If Wanda was considered a "villain," did that moniker truly matter to you?

Captivating green eyes, flecked with bits of gold, sparkled with intensity as they met yours. In that moment, you made a firm decision: you didn't care if she was a villain. Perhaps you wished she had been more honest about her intentions and actions, but as far as you knew, she hadn't done anything truly villainous. If her "crime" was saving you, she shouldn't be punished for it.

"What is it, lyubov moya?" she asked, amused, having caught you in the middle of your intense gaze. Wanda wasn't sure exactly what you were thinking without reading your mind, but the way you looked at her, as if you had appraised her and found her to be the perfect answer to all you were seeking, made her feel weightless. Warmth bloomed in her chest as she gazed fondly at you.

Caught in your staring, you blushed and shook your head in denial, trying to hide any thoughts you may have had. Instead of responding, you leaned your head on her shoulder and wrapped your arms around her closest arm, indicating to her to continue her work.

Wanda smiled at you briefly before returning to her task. She didn't want to spend too much time observing the multiverse, as she had already set up multiple wards and alerts in case anything significant happened. It seemed that you wanted to cuddle, and she saw no reason to decline. Finished with her goal, arm in arm, Wanda led you to the living room and turned on the TV to watch the Dick Van Dyke show, knowing you enjoyed it almost as much as she did, despite its age. Contentedly, you nestled into her embrace, inhaling the faint scent of vanilla, and settled in comfortably.

Although you had decided to accept Wanda for who she was, you couldn't completely shake the persistent doubts in your mind. Those doubts crept into your dreams, turning them into nightmares.

Unlike most of your dreams, and even nightmares, these were fragmented. They appeared as flashes, resembling memories almost. In some of these fragments, a woman dressed in black and red was chasing after a man in a cape, and a teenage girl, as they hurried through what seemed like a monastery. The same woman in red effortlessly utilized puddles and mirrors to traverse through the monastery, pulling people back through. Although her face remained unseen, the outfit seemed familiar; a feeling of dread and unease overwhelming you whenever you came close to catching a glimpse. 

Unable to do anything, you were a helpless bystander to what was surely a slaughter. You hoped that this woman was just letting these people go, simply getting them out of the way. In your heart somehow you knew that was likely not the case. Suddenly, you had a close-up view from directly behind the woman, as she pulled another unsuspecting victim through a puddle, swiftly snapping his neck.

You woke up to the sound of screaming, and it wasn't until Wanda held you in her arms, turned you to face her, shushing you gently, that you realized the scream was yours.

It took Wanda longer than usual, but eventually she was able to calm you down and get you to go back to sleep next to her. However, you were uncharacteristically stiff and silent, a stark contrast to the affectionate person you had been earlier. Wanda was tempted to read your mind, but she had been making a conscious effort to refrain from doing so. She wanted the connection between you both to be genuine, and invading your privacy by reading your thoughts would not contribute to that. If it were anyone else, she wouldn't hesitate, but you were the one person whose privacy she respected and didn't want to intrude upon if there was any other way.

Night terrors were common for you, which was expected given your level of trauma, and how often you had them in Wanda’s presence. This one felt different to her. You had never recoiled from her touch before, even in the beginning when she first brought you to Wundagore. Wanda's touch had always been a source of comfort, capable of dispelling your fears. So why were you suddenly so tense in her embrace, as if you wished to be anywhere else?

Her heart clenched with fear and hurt that you weren’t comfortable sharing what had upset you. However, she knew that pressuring you would only make you shut down. Instead, the witch took a deep breath through her nose promising herself to be patient. It was incredibly vexing that she always seemed to make one step forward with you, and then two steps back. Wanda believed that you would eventually come to her, if given enough time. She hoped at least.  If Wanda couldn't trust you, then who could she trust? She couldn't bear to entertain that train of thought. 

Gentle rays of sunlight streamed through the curtains into your shared bedroom, rousing you from your restless sleep. The bed felt cold, and the delightful aroma of pancakes filled the air, wafting in from the kitchen down the hall. You concluded that Wanda must be preparing breakfast. Yawning, you got out of bed and padded your way towards the witch and the enticing aromas that made your stomach growl.

An adorable sight greeted you, causing your heart to flutter pleasantly in your chest. Wanda, clad in her favorite blue plaid robe, black pajama top, and dark grey sweatpants, dancing around the kitchen as she cooked for you both, listening to some 90’s pop. What a dork, you thought, affectionately. 

As if sensing your presence, the witch spun around. “Good morning, detka! Breakfast will be ready in just a sec!”

Your lips quirked upwards in a grin. How could this woman be so perfect, you wondered?

“No rush. Is there anything I can help with?”

Viridescent eyes twinkled with appreciation. Her girl always had such good manners, so sweet, so helpful. “No, dorogoya, I have it covered. Sweet of you to offer though.” Wanda walked around with your pancakes and set them on a plate in front of you, before placing a quick, but gentle kiss to the top of your head.

On contact, your body froze. A furtive glance cast in the witch’s direction but Wanda had already turned her back to you, completely unaware. You didn't understand what had just happened, but when the former avenger had entered your personal space, you felt an unexpected and almost overwhelming urge to run. Even now you were actively resisting it, trying to stay seated. It would look weird if you suddenly fled from the room, and you weren’t sure how to explain to Wanda when she inevitably would ask you why.

 Taking a few moments to breathe through your nose, you swallowed nervously and willed yourself to remain in place. What the fuck? What was wrong with you? This was Wanda, not some stranger out to get you. Gods, how traumatized were you anyway?

Before the witch could notice your discomfort, you quickly devour the breakfast she had prepared for you. With a disarming grin, you tried to regain a sense of normalcy by complimenting the chef. Wanda responded with a brilliant smile and plated her own breakfast before sitting down in the chair next to you. A soft, cool hand gently brushed across your lower back as she passed by.

This time, you shivered pleasantly, grateful that your body had recognized the familiarity that was Wanda, and she posed no threat to you. The anxiety that had been coursing through your veins just moments before began to fade. In an attempt to regain that sense of safety that the witch typically provided, you moved your chair closer to Wanda, earning yourself an affectionate look from the older woman.

Your behavior was a significant departure from the stiff and silent demeanor you had the night before, and Wanda was relieved that you weren't still pushing her away. If you had continued to distance yourself, she had resolved to read your mind without your permission to understand what was troubling you. Understanding that you had trust issues, and some uncertainty was to be anticipated, but Wanda was growing weary of every bit of progress being quickly overshadowed by your own lack of confidence. The witch contemplated how to better help you grow more than she already had been.

Conversation between the two of you flowed easily once again. Wanda had promised herself to be patient with you, although personally she knew patience wasn't her strong suit. For you though, she would try. A breakthrough in your relationship felt imminent. Maybe all you needed was a gentle nudge. Perhaps time for Wanda to stop allowing you to doubt her intentions and take a more direct approach with you. As ideas began forming in her mind, she had to muster her facial expression so as not to inadvertently reveal her plans for you, and how excited she was to surprise you.

2. Were they created for the story, or was the story created for them?

The story was created for them! All three of these guys sort of existed, just vibing in my head, from like age 12 till a couple years ago when I actually started writing their story. I really started going ham about writing their story a couple months ago. And I have sooo much more than Just Vibes for them now. Yay! :3

4. Do they have a best friend? If so, how did they meet? If not, have they ever/why never?

Ashley's best friend is Micah, Isa's older brother. The two of them met on Micah's first day of school. (In my stuff, wolves typically home school their kids until around middle school to give them time to get used to/ learn to control their shifting.) So they meet at like... age 11ish. :)

Isa's best friend is Aaron and Aaron's best friend is Isa. They are inseparable. They met after Isa's oldest brother found a kid in the woods and brought them home because he frankly had no idea what to do but he couldn't just leave a kid crying by itself. (Elijah is my blorbo at the moment and I love him and I think I'm going to make y'all know about him soonish lol.)

6. What catalyzed their introduction to the plot?

Like I said up there ^, Ashley joins the party when he meets Micah. And then he straight up joins the pack after his mother's death. :)

Isa's family split from their old pack due to some Drama Trauma and moved several states away, right into Aaron (and formerly Rayne and Laurent's) backyard. Well, not really. But into the same woods, just a few miles apart.

And finally, Aaron's entire thing really starts when their dads go missing out of the blue. That's what leads Elijah to them and lands them in the wolves' den, where they are loved and doted on by almost everyone there. :)

8. If your character’s financial situation were to suddenly flip (someone poor becoming rich, someone rich becoming poor, etc), how well would they handle it? What would be the first thing they would do?

I would like to say Ash wouldn't be super affected but it would be a lie! He would go insane and accidentally piss most of his money away pretty fast. He's used to his shit being taken away so he's very much of the 'use it while you've got it' mindset. But yeah. He would... He would not handle it well at all.

Isa wouldn't give a fuck either way. His family is decently well off, but if he were suddenly to be poor... He would just carry on as normal as possible. He's not super materialistic and he's the youngest son so most of his shit was handed down. But if worst came to worst, he would just change into a wolf and fuck off into the forest— as long as his family was there too.

Aaron... Well, Aaron is a wildcard. Seeing as they were raised by a pair of eccentric gay vampires, they were used to the nicest shit possible. Things get sort of downgraded a bit when they move in with the wolves. They wouldn't handle wealth or poverty super well. They'd be of the 'I have money so I need to help people with it' mindset if they won the lottery. And if they were suddenly broke, they would probably just resort to Vampire Mind Control to get what they needed. :)

10. Which of your OCs would be most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse? Which would die immediately?

Since all three of these losers are way over-powered (because I say so) they'd probably all survive. Most likely to die would be Aaron, if there were some sort of self-sacrificing-to-save-their-mates situation. :/ Idiot.

12. Has your character committed any crimes (per their universe’s laws)? If not, which crime would your character most likely commit?

Ashley loves shoplifting. :) He will do it whenever he thinks he can get away with it. Half the time he doesn't even need anything, he just thinks it's a fun game. (This exasperates Isa. Aaron encourages him.)

Isa can and will commit murder if he must. (It's usually just rogue vampires and/or so- called "monster hunters", so it doesn't really count if you think about it. Self defense and all...)

Aaron learned to drive from one of Isa's older brothers when they were thirteen. So there's that. And that same brother taught them to pirate movies and shows (because that was his job but then he was going off to college and "My brothers are too stupid to learn, so I'm teaching you. :D")

14. How does your character feel about riding horses (or your world’s closest approximation of a horse if it lacks horses)?

Ashley is not willingly going anywhere near a horse. Those things are scary as fuck and suicide machines as far as he's concerned. Uh uh, no way. Never.

Isa has no problem with riding horses but he'd rather just go wolf and run himself. It's funner that way. And faster.

Aaron has been on horses, prefers riding wolves.

16. What is your character’s favorite leisure activity?

Ashley- used to be skateboarding but the local skate park is fucked. So... it's video games now.

Isa- napping outside. Just straight up sleeping. Let him rest, he's so tired. Please. (He also likes to draw but he is ass at it. TWT)

Aaron- baking and reading. Also just cuddling Isa because a warm sleepy wolf is just the best nap partner okay.

18. If your character were trapped on a deserted island, what three things would they want to have with them? Which person would they absolutely hate to be trapped there with? Which person would they enjoy being trapped there with?

Ashley- just kill him. He ain't fucking with that mess. :') No. Okay. For real: a knife, an inflatable couch, and a Gameboy. Also let him have about a dozen packs of AA batteries. He wouldn't mind terribly if Isa, Aaron, or Micah were there with him. He'd rather be straight up dead than be deserted with anyone else.

Isa- hammock, sun hat, pitcher of lemonade that never empties. :) (Oh. Real things?) An emergency flare then. :/ Isa would share his island with almost anyone he knows. Except his brother Ethan. They would kill each other. Not good.

Aaron- a fully-furnished house with a working telephone :3, a speed boat, an emergency flare. Aaron's like Isa. Just about anyone. Except fucking Ethan.

20. Which of your OCs would you most like to meet in person, if they could become real (or you could visit them) for a day?

Oh god. Out of these three I have to say Isa simply because I've caused him the least trauma and he would be less likely to crazy murder me than the other two. (lol) They have really fucked up sad stories. But Isa's is pretty decent all things considered. And I gave him two mates who love him a lot so he can't be that mad at me. XD

Hiiiiiii mutual!! First of all I’ve said this before but I love being known as the Aoinene Expert™️, so happy that’s my reputation lol

Headcanons are my specialty so I’m glad you asked this!! I will gladly convince you into the Aoinene lore/hj. They’ve been rotting away my brain all day so I’m gonna take this opportunity to ramble abt them and explain how I see the ship

• So as far as canon goes I wouldn’t change either of the canon pairings for them, shipping for me sort of exists in a multiversal vacuum where I can imagine alternatives for who the characters end up with and how they end up with those ppl via fan content

• I do, however, love the idea of them having mutual crushes on each other in canon. I think Nene plays hers off as just admiring Aoi but deep down she feels the same way abt her that she does Teru and Fuji (or maybe a little bit more serious since they’re best friends). And while I think Akane is Aoi’s ultimate soulmate in canon I can see her having feelings for Nene as well, though I think they’d start to fade once Nene began to pull away from her

• As for fanon tho…

• In my head there’s an alternate universe where these two end up together after everything. This usually involves lesbian Aoi bcuz I do adore that headcanon in anything that’s not the actual manga. I like to think they both developed mutual crushes on each other in middle school and Aoi was very internally angsty and aware of her’s whereas Nene was very repressed abt her feelings for girls in general

• They totally have sleepovers every week, on Fridays specifically. They do typical things like watching movies and painting each other’s nails but they’re teenage girls so they’d also probably try to summon demons. And since this is tbhk they’d probably succeed a few times (now I need an au where Nene summons Bloody Mary instead of Hanako)

• Since it’s Aoinene ofc there’s gotta be a moment when Aoi finally opens up to Nene about everything, but I don’t think that would come without difficulty. Lots of avoiding each other and being super distant bcuz neither of them want to be the first to bring it up, then maybe a dramatic fight or two before they come back together on calmer terms and have a long conversation at one of their sleepovers about everything. Whether platonic or romantic that's usually how I envision their resolution

• I think it would also have to come after Aoi's taken some time to work through her mental health problems, she's made progress but she still has a long way to go and that stuff isn't easy to talk about, especially when she knows Nene's view of her will change

• I don't think Nene ever intends to hurt Aoi though, she's more-so negligent and a bit self-centered. And she seems to know something is off with Aoi never talking abt herself but she can't take that further step into understanding WHY she acts the way that she does

• To be honest I see Nene as stressing a lot when she realizes something's going on because she doesn't want to lose their friendship, and I do think she would embrace the real Aoi with open arms if she ever were to meet her

• Then I think they'd have some struggles of adjusting to their new dynamic and figuring out how they work with Aoi being herself + Aoi would instinctively try to pull away a bit, but I think they'd find a way to make it work

• They would constantly be going on dates, wanting to try new places together. They've probably tried every cafe in their town, I could also see them being the type of couple to have each other's orders memorized

• A lot of fics tend to pull them away from their canon love interests in one way or another but not me, Hanako and Akane automatically become wingmen. Those girls are a mess and they need all the advice they can get, even if their makeshift relationship counsellors are far from qualified

• They match their outfits whenever they go out, and they're also 100% the type to do matching Halloween costumes

• Nene has a houseplant in her room that's a gift from Aoi

• Nene calls Aoi every time she has to run errands but doesn't want to do it alone. They end up at the pet store a lot

• Their moms are both convinced they're secretly dating and place bets on when they'll announce it

• They both get easily flustered around each other when they first start dating but in different ways; Nene is a very loud and dramatic type of flustered, very shoujo protagonist core. And Aoi is more the quiet, tsundere genre of flustered

• In the future I picture Nene as a successful writer and Aoi as a flower shop owner and they have a house by the beach. And a hamster, of course

• I also choose to believe they were girlfriends in the Ghost Hotel au before Aoi passed, then they got reunited when Nene arrived at the hotel

• Nene cries very easily and Aoi is a good fake-crier

• Aoi is a little spoon, pass it on

this is just a thought, not an actual theory or smth, but (spoilers for 3.2 under the cut)

so like. correct me if i'm getting any details here wrong (i went looking for some of them but a lot of transcripts are missing from the wiki even in older patches, sorry 🥺) but i'm gonna lay things out from memory and then say what i think

flame reaver was there when aedes elysiae was destroyed. he killed cyrene right in front of phainon's eyes

in phainon's recounting of the event in his speech in 3.2, he mentions mostly the black tide overtaking things and corrupting people, and him having to take some of them out of their misery

flame reaver is most likely phainon from a different timeline

it seems like new "runs" of amphoreus are in part shaped by whoever inherits the coreflame of kephale. in the current "run" we're observing, it'll probably be phainon, so it's safe to assume that was the case for this other phainon too

memories are uh. not quite the most accurate thing. especially when you're traumatized, which phainon absolutely is. he even says to anaxa that he worries his memory won't be good enough

this is string theory bs but like, afaik, there's this idea that if you manage to switch into another universe where you once existed, the memories of who you were in that universe will also be your own to balance things out somewhat

so. idk which direction this goes in. but my thought is either

1. phainon didn't actually kill his friends, he watched flame reaver do it, but through a mix of guilt over not saving them and overflowing emotions messing up his memory in addition to string theory stuff, he remembers the event as if seeing it through his own eyes (angsty, sad, though not very spicy)

2. he actually killed cyrene himself - either because she also turned into a monster, or in a panic not knowing who's friend and who's foe, or targeting someone else and her getting in the crossfire, and in order for him to not like, explode from guilt even more, his brain shifted the blame to the flame reaver

in which case, for all we know, the flame reaver may have never even been there, and phainon's memory simply filled up that gap when he saw him in the present. it does seem a bit weird that this guy went back in time to destroy phainon's village, then stayed silent/moved forward a few years to only now start his own flame reaving? why not do it before the flame chase kicks into full power like it is now? wouldn't it have been easier? if he was indeed in aedes elysiae in the past then why not go from there to go hunt some coreflame?

so, the idea is, in order to handle the guilt of killing his best friend, phainon's brain left a hole there, sorta. that then got filled when he saw flame reaver in the present for the first time. them being in the same place at the same time may have mixed things up even more, the reason flame reaver was the one to fill that hole specifically is because he IS phainon, but removed enough from himself that he doesn't know it yet and is thus safer, in a way

[also hi3's story is hellish to figure out from reading things online so i'm not 100% on this at all but 😭 ik kevin killed elysia too. idk what the context was tho. if he wasn't going sicko mode (yet?) at the time of said killing then this does contribute to the possible parallel in hsr where regular phainon is the one who killed cyrene]

3?. we are currently in a memory of another phainon - possibly flame reaver himself - who also killed his cyrene, and his memories got mixed with our phainon's memories, in which case the flame reaver did technically kill her but he was actually regular ol phainon back then so there's at least that layer of angst 😩 but then rather than this memory being shown in first person to our phainon, he sees the flame reaver there. who knows, maybe their meeting in the present overwrote some of his memories to align with flame reaver's, which is why he even saw him in his past in the first place

I don’t think people on this app (the nice ones) realise what they do for other people. This is a safe place for so many people and also an escape.

I honestly am obsessed with your writing and it’s so hard seeing you and other writers so sad. It’s a weird one really because of the sort of platform it is on here that realistically we’re all anonymous even with usernames but in a way I like that? You can talk to people and be yourself without having the judgement of them already knowing you.

I know I’m always like “can we have the next chapter” but it’s because I love getting into bed and having a 10k+ word story to read and just shut off from the world.

Your mine and Ours will always always always be my favourite, and I will forever go back to them for a reread. In my head that’s the perfect life really isn’t it? And the perfect T.

We all know what COULD be happening in a few months time but I’m such a believer in why worry now when it’s not happening yet? It breaks my heart at what the outcome would be but let me tell you, I’ll provide you all with the photos and videos of the last game because I myself have tickets to go 🫣🫣 and I guess I just don’t like talking about it, I’d rather live in a fairytale and pretend it’s not happening than deal with all the whispers because truth be told. None of us know what’s happening and we won’t until announcements are mad.

‘Aperture’ is incredible hunni!! You don’t give yourself enough credit. The fact you’ve bashed out 5 whole books 🤩🤩🤩 like wow!!! You should be so proud of yourself, and never talk negatively of that because it really is an achievement. You have brought so many people’s ideas to life.

You’re right—this space has always been an escape, a little corner of the internet where we can just exist without the weight of everything else. Yes, its about him- but at the same time it isn't? And hearing that my writing has been a part of that for you? It genuinely means the world.

I love that you get so excited for new chapters (even if my 10k+ word-count habits have probably aged us all at this point). Knowing that my stories have given you something to look forward to, a little bit of escapism, that’s what makes all the time and effort worth it.

And Ours and You’re Mine forever being your faves? Stop, I might cry 🥹 That’s the highest compliment ever. The perfect life, the perfect T—honestly, sometimes I live in that universe more than I do the real one. I miss them. I miss Teddy girl tbf.

As for what could be happening in a few months... I feel you. I don’t even like thinking about it, let alone talking about it. The uncertainty, the whispers, the what-ifs—it’s all too much. Well, more like ask questions, but not important.

First, I'm currently writing a fic based on it (not finished, but ~3.7k words rn and not much left), starting with the 2nd adventure because it's fun and I wasn't in the mood to write Warriors suffering THAT much (he still is tho, but less, kinda)

Second, as I'm directly writing in your AU—and not just inspired or based on—I like to keep things as close to what you've said as possible, at least in the beggining.

...So, questions! No need to answer if you don't want to, or even just do a few of them, I was just wondering. I'll still be releasing the fic and @ you anyways, I just like to hear your opinion.

1. I made Four (called Minish early on in the fic) have changing eye color based on his mood, but the colors (characters) aren't present when merged. What do you think of them appearing? Are they all in Four's head? Take turns? Do they only exist when split? Are they sometimes there and sometimes not? Something else?

2. Four and Shadow relationship. Has Shadow existed? Is he dead? Alive? They dating/engaged/married/exes? If <-, is it only Vidow or Fourdow? Is he their housecat?

3. Any change of appearances outside of obvious height? I imagine then to look pretty close/the same to their original, especially those who's ages are close to or are often headcanoned to be close to their age in the comics.

Also if there's something special you want to mention for their 1 adv./2 adv. Say it under this question?

Also if Shadow how do you imagine he looks like?

4. Thoughts on Warriors ship? I usually don't really ship him with anyone, I sometimes put him with Artemis but mostly just so he's taken...Or go all out with Warrahim, but that needs more explaining than I usually bother with. Honestly, him dating a (male) OC had gone to mind a bit whilst writing, but I think I'm making it into another seperate fic than this one.

Either way, I was wondering if you had any ships of him in mind? Ofc it wouldn't be there immideatly, but something that could be built up when/if I—or others—decide to write in this AU.

Totally not because I was planning on writing Artemis x Impa in this AU. Nope. Not at all.

I probably have more questions that I've forgotten about, but I can leave that to another day.

And I’d like you to know that I am perfectly okay with you adapting my AU in any way you wish. I appreciate you giving me credit but I’d never post something without fully intending on sharing it! So please do whatever you wish! Don’t let me hold you back!

That being said though, I’m also really really excited to talk more about this AU! 

In the second half of the journey I think the colors appearing are fair game! I personally think that when they’re merged as Four they’re generally one person again. Like, they’re Four now. I kind of follow Steven Universe rules when it comes to Four for myself if you’ve ever watched the show 😭 but basically, when the colors merge as Four, they are a separate person while being a combination of theirselves if that makes sense? I think they still kind of have some kind of autonomy, like if Four were to pass a bookstore he might get a very sharp urge to go there that he might not normally have. In stressful situations I think his thoughts would fragment more. I like all different writings of Four though! Honestly, him going down more of the taking turns path might be more interesting in this story but I’d have to play with different ideas. 

As for Shadow… I forgot to think about him 😭 I think it depends on your opinion if he’s dead or alive… for a timeline, my headcanons teehee, Four went through his Four Sword Quest when he was somewhere between 14-16? I’m not entirely sure which age but teenager. Four reunites with the chain when he’s like… we can say 28? I believe Four would appreciate Shadow enough to want to bring him back or resurrect him. To save him from that fate. Whether or not 10 years is enough time for Four to save him is your judgement 👀. I think Vidow is real 😭 like it doesn’t even matter whether I ship it or not. I read the manga and those boys had something going on. I think when Four remerges the rest of the colors, and Four himself might love Shadow or at least really understand why Shadow does. Maybe it’s more complicated than just a matter of romantic love, duty, or respect. Maybe Shadow and Four has something weird… (but yea, I ship it. I’ll ship anything with a good enough plot)

Honestly for change in appearance, I don’t think much would change. Least of all for Twilight and Sky who don’t have any more quests. Hyrule might be a bit surprising, during his second quest he learns magic so maybe that does something to him. He also might be better fed by now, better at coping with the cult. Wild would be pretty drastic actually, he has scars now and a wild look to him. If you think he’s gone through totk maybe he’s missing an arm? As for Shadow, I think it’s funny when people keep his manga emo boy look, but that’s just me 🙂‍↕️

For Wars, I didn’t have a ship for him in mind, I honestly think he’d be a bit busy for anything like that, but at the same time if it works for him it works! I personally headcanon him as gay, I have nothing to base this off of. I think it’s the scarf. It whispers to me… but that being said, I’d never slander anybody’s ship or opinion. But also CRAAZZZY that you mention Impa x Artemis bc I love that ship. I think Artemis is also gay. WLW and MLM solidarity.

I'm currently developing a part 3 oc inspired on the Fem!MC for 7th Stand User (a rly cool fangame that you should DEFINITELY check out if you haven't btw).

I haven't decided on a name for her yet, but I'm calling her "Vivi" for now. It's based on the Billy Joel song "Vienna" that inspired her character! She's an 18 year old highschool student who can't wait to graduate and be more independent. She hates being talked down to and can't stand it when people assume that she's incapable of doing certain things because of her age/gender/stature.

Her Stand is named Tears for Fears. It has the ability to create illusions over a 20m radius based on the user's emotions. I originally wanted the name to be "Mad World" but I thought that it would be too similar to "The World."

Then I actually had a bit of dilemma, because I thought that the name would be "too modern of a music reference" BUT THEN I remembered that VANILLA ICE EXISTS and if he can be named after an artist that, within the JoJo universe, hasn't achieved mainstream success in the current timeline, then I can do whatever I want forever >:3

ough the modern music references,,, i get that! iirc mariah's in the same boat since her debut album came out in 1990, same year as to the extreme (vanilla ice's debut), and i'm sure there's more characters too, but i wouldn't worry too much about that! i have a few references in shay's backstory (~1986-1987) that were years before the artists had made their debuts, so no shame in that! if it fits and you like it, i think you should use it!! 💗

this came to my mind several anti batman and superman as fathers posts, it's fashionable to say they are bad fathers and that Jon DC is indirectly killing it, i know what i just said about john has nothing to do with it, but in if it's the same fans that refuse a new generation of heroes sons :(

in Young Justice Dark (starring Damian and Nika) I would have donated a kidney to have Zatara ii :/ it's boring that they propose things like absolute, and not an alternate universe with more children (like in earth-22, there is wasted potential).

this comes to me because several users are resuming to create AU with children, and many of them have already proposed to make comics.

to be honest the point that he is afraid that he will turn out like his father makes sense. and even if someone can't see having kids in the future...it might change with a certain person. and ofc... not wanting to become a parent is something else than becoming one on accident.

To your question:

I love the idea. Maybe because i love the yj show and they deal with next generations and ofc have timeskips that allow them to let a 15 year old (as of s1) have a child by the second season of the series. I do get peoples concerns that they want more of the original character and not their legacy character. and especially with Zatanna as example, who already is a legacy character of the original character. They might be afraid that Zatara II could become more famous than Zee. IDK if that would be a bad thing tho. Since I do believe thats not happening from one moment to another and would happen over a decade or more. and probably when everyone of us is closer to death anyways. It would be cool if characters like Damian, Jon, the tornado twins, and wally/lindas kids could continue to exist and dc finally deciding to move on and stop resetting the timeline.

And ofc since I also love ZII ... I'd like them to add him to the main timeline. To continue the Zatara line. And ofc lateron his twins as well.

Would be cool to see the DC world actually evolve over time.

YOOO THIS IS SO COOL

A few questions- which of these characters are PCs and which are NPCs? I got a bit confused at times. Oh also I was a bit confused about the hags reproducing part

BUT IZUMI GETTING HYPNOTIZED OOO. I love that that's so cool. One time I would love to play a character who gets possessed, even though it's probably not happening any time soon in this campaign. Another one of our PCs might tho bc there's something weird going on with him 👀

Me, playing a dwarf monk named Sully

Blue @blue-rhapsody playing a rouge tiefling named Anawrete

A barbarian half-orc named Mal (she's a sweetie I promise)

An elf ranger named Silen (he. He gets into situations)

A "human" sorcerer named Alloces (chaotic evil)

An actually human wizard named Hans (addicted to gambling)

And, finally, a new addition who's joining TODAY: a human warlock named Paul (a divorced single dad). Why so many humans? Idk. Paul's actor wouldn't have chosen human but Paul is a reoccurring character who Mal's actor used to play bc we got to make gambling ocs every time Hans went gambling.

And of course we got our lovely dm! He makes me go insane <3

A couple of silly things about our campaign: first one is that our group meets every other week, right? Well turns out there's a WHOLE DIFFERENT GROUP which meets on the other weeks- and exists in the same universe as our group, where their actions can influence stuff that happens for us. We have No idea what they're up to, because we don't even know the members personally and have no way of contacting them. Our dm is being very mysterious about it. Additionally, our campaign is set up in a way where each of our PCs have a weird amount of information that only they and the dm know. Our characters are mostly assholes because it's funny, so they are not telling each other. So we know our backstories and anything that those influence about the world, and also anything our dm decides to direct message us during the session, which is sometimes a lot lol. Lots of information, and a fair bit of deception between players. Blue in particular has some crazy thing she's planning, and I'm absolutely not ready for it.

How do I explain the plot? No fucking clue at this point, but I'll give a broaaaadd overview:

We've had 6 4-hour long sessions and I like to split them into 2-session long chunks:

-The Atticus Meyers arc

-The Murder Mystery arc

-The Invasion of the Order of the Five arc

I'm just gonna explain the first arc rn bc SO MUCH has happened. Sully doesn't do much crazy this arc because I'm busy establishing her as being asocial and grumpy asf :)

In the first arc, we were told by the Priori of the Shipbuilder's Guild Alora Windshear (Priori is like leader, and each Priori is in an oligarchy of guilds that lead Tirazia, the city-state we all live in) to figure out what happened to her informant Atticus Meyers- because last time she met up with him, she secretly did a divination spell on him and it was actually someone else in disguise. We all went to this bar where they usually met up, and with enough charm spells, alcohol, and convincing we figured out where this imposter came from- the Leatherworker's Guild.

At the same time, a different group of the party was distracting this elf named Marcus who seemed to be listening in, while Anawrete was getting drunk bc she felt like it. We also did Operation: Bottle Liberation in which Anawrete and Hans stole a very expensive bottle of absinthe because Anawrete wanted it lol. After a detour where half the party led Marcus around town, we all met up (minus Marcus and the fake Atticus) to go to the Leatherworker's Guild.

At the Leatherworker's Guild, we were absolutely not subtle and a fight rang out as we searched for the info we wanted. Sully and Hans found damning notes of schemes against Alora in an office, and we successfully defeated the guards!

After that, we did a lot of miscellaneous things. Hans decided to go gambling, and we all made gambling OCs (ft. PAUL!!!!). And he won big with a mechanic which he hid from the dm and totally took him by surprise. Meanwhile, Alloces decided to summon his shadow familiar, but he needed money to do so and Hans had taken his while he was sleeping, so he asked Silen for a loan in exchange for a favor. Silen agreed, and the two summoned his shadow. At the same time, Anawrete was getting information from resident criminal associations of Tirazia, which I honestly forgot what info she got. Alloces's shadow followed her, and watched the interaction. Sully was busy doing work and being asocial, and Mal was just vibing mostly with Anawrete (other than when she briefly left).

But back to Silen and Alloces for a second, because Silen immediately decides to cash in his favor, and asks Alloces on a date (????????). Alloces for some reason agrees, even though he's an absolute edgelord and does not like Silen at all. They ask Sully for good restaurants near here while she's working, and she is so confused but gives him one. And then comes the worst date in the history of dates! Absolutely horrific, they are so awkward around each other and absolutely horrible for each other. Silen accidentally asks for a table for one. Alloces orders raw octopus tentacles for the both of them. Silent thinks the date is going GREAT. Alloces is in his own personal hell. They start talking about their backstories and it's just. Pix it's so awkward you don't understand, we're all fucking DYING LAUGHING, absolutely props to both of their players because HELPPP.

Anyways. After the date, a tiefling-dwarf named Sten approaches them because they look like mercenaries, asking if they want to help solve murders which occurred at his church for a reward. They (or mostly Silen) agree, and the group meets back up.

In the off-time, Mal has found picture books, and sat down to Sully, who was reading her prayer book. She is very excitedly telling me all about The Rainbow Fish, and then Silen and Alloces arrive to explain that they've volunteered us for a murder mystery.

So that's it for the first arc! I also got some stuff I am hiding which I cannot say bc Blue is here reading this (hi Blue. Hiii) but most of Sully-specific stuff happens in the later arcs (mostly session 6, absolutely insane).

Yesyesyesyesyes you can!!!! I can't share too much behind the scenes (as much as I'd love to) BC Alien will most likely see this n Munts may see it too- Putting this under a cut purely BC this is so long bc ive ended up infodump sm-

So, it started w each character getting a letter from someone they know, an old friend for Hecate and Nivaira, and Izumi's half sibling, called Ammon. (All 3 letters were from Ammon just to be clear-) Ammon invited them to his house, as well as 3 others. Eventually, Ammon made it clear that she wanted the group (all 6) to locate an amulet, but that they couldnt SAY where it was bc. Evil can hear. BC you see, Ammon, who is a divination wizard/wild magic sorcerer had been studying the amulet, and got a dream that a great evil was looking for her and got scared. So ran away. The other 2 NPCs also left. There's a lot of plot holes but shhhh-

Anyway the party found the amulet, and the party discovered that Relania, one of the others summoned by Ammon, decided to try and take the amulet, resulting in a big battle which ended with Relania tied up and. Somehow escaping. She's still loose to this day.

The second adventure had the party meet a little girl called Ruby, and her mum. Ruby's mum was exhausted from lack of sleep so told Ruby to go to her granny's house in the woods (no this isn't a werewolf adventure). The party were asked to accompany Ruby, to ensure she got to her granny's safely. The party decided that because this nice little old lady lived in a SCARY part of the woods, she was evil. So stalked Ruby's granny, Winnie. They went down a whole rabbit hole of nettle/false nettle like plants n then decided Winnie was a night hag. And then Ruby's mum died. And so Hecate (the group's researcher), decided to see if there's any way of discovering if someone was killed by a night hag post death. There is! They just needed truesight. Noone had truesight. So, they put up a notice on the community board and hoped someone followed it.

Meanwhile, the Banducci Carnival was coming to town, and the group went to the carnival that night while waiting for the post to be found. While visiting Madame Banducci, the fortune teller (and owner of the carnival), Izumi got a lil. Hypnotised. Although he acted as normal until later :)

The next day, a cloaked figure with a kitsune mask appeared to use truesight as per the notice. They called themselves "Bob" and had an awful deep southern American Etomian (the name of the country "Bob" is from) accent. "Bob" did cast truesight on the body of Ruby's mum, and yeah, it was from a hag. And then "Bob" revealed herself to be Bella Banducci, daughter of Madame Banducci. Who then got Hypnotised!Izumi to steal the amulet for her, and give it to her. The rest of the party didn't notice.

The party went back to Winnie's house, to confront her, but. Ruby and Winnie were gone. They party then discovered how hags reproduce and then went "oh shi-" as they realised exactly what had happened.

Eventually, Hecate, who was in charge of the amulet, realised it was gone, and something happened that I don't remember and eventually Bella appeared like "heyyy I've got the amulet you idiots and I'm gonna sell it BC my mom wants me to but idc who to, so you guys give me 500gp and you can have it <3" the party managed to persuade Bella to join them (she hates the carnival), as they do a 500gp bounty (to retrieve an object)

THE CURRENT ADVENTURE!

The party follow the bounty to Sirraux', an expensive artifacts shop, ran by Monsieur Sirraux, a tiefling. It had the object the party needed to retrieve - a dwarf's magic pickaxe - buutt Sirraux didn't wanna give it up. In exchange, it asked the party to collect a sample of an interesting flora on an island far away. It got it's dwarf assistant to bring the party to the island. It was an island that Nivaira knew very well :). It was also infested with mushrooms. Currently they just got to Nivairas hometown, where all the people have been turned into evil myconids (evil mushroom ppl). Fun times!

There's also Eiwin Tamiel, an important NPC who hasn't been adventure relevant yet but will be! Just you wait for the Christmas special!!! He's a human cleric (???) and works in a small artifact / trinket shop. They're also definitely crushing on Ammon <3 Who is definitely not crushing on him back <3 I ship them sm- they write notes to each other in celestial and arghkejrjfkwf i cant share all the cute info bout them bc. Spoilers.

ANYWAY if you read all that well done, I'm impressed-

SVSSS AU - The demonic realm’s human tactician.

so - PIDW isn't a book that  Shen Yuan could have read - it didn't exist in his world. instead he read a novel about - and from the perspective of - Mobei-jun, second in command of the demonic army, and the book was about their campaign against the cultivators

the leader of the army and emperor of the demon realm, Luo Binghe, was a really mysterious figure - probably the most powerful demon living, but not outstandingly so. he is, however, completely unkillable, so it doesn't really matter than 10 lesser demons could probably beat him if death doesn't stick

the book is a mix of fantasy war drama, palace intrigue and presents the demon army as 'the bad guys' because they're killing humans, so obviously they must be in the wrong

(they dont touch noncombatants, but the same can not be said for the cultivators. neither do they take prisoners or attempt to use the magic of cultivators to fuel strange metal abominations of war. but like. demon bad)

 anyway, shen yuan, avid reader and proud Luo Binghe simp and stan, dies young, furious that the book ends with Luo Binghe being betrayed and the demon army loosing

anyway  Shen Yuan transmigrates - the system tried to shove him into a human cultivator general but it didn't work, so they shoved him into the (previously dead) body of his little brother, aged it up a bit, slapped a golden core inside and sent him on his way

 so  Shen Yuan is in the world of his favourite book, knowing his favourite character is going to lose the war that honestly saw the humans being shitty?

 fuck that!!

 so. he may or may not disguse himself as a demon and join the war effort. hes aware this is a stupid idea but hes fueled by the rage and that shitty ending

 anyway, hes a great tactician and moves his way up the ranks

 until. a certain emperor notices him.

 PLOT TWIST

the reason Luo Binghe's past is so unexplained in the novel?? hes not a native of this universe - hes from PIWD, post ‘bing-ge visiting svsss canon’ event

 he's without xin mo at the moment, and in this world he lacks a protagonist halo and is therefore much less overpowered

  He takes one look at Shen Yuan and is like "this is similar to that wimps Shizun. Coincidence I think not"

 And, seeing the visual similarity between this soft face version of his dear shizun, he sees a chance to hurt Shen Jiu. (Wonder where system found that dead body to give to Shen Yuan?) 

He’s like "oh i should let you keep working until you inevitably betray me, then i'll murder you infront of ur brother" because Shen Yuan hasn't technically done anything wrong yet, so he cant like. just murder the guy. Yet.

hes expecting  Shen Yuan to be a traitor but like. no hes actually shockingly helpful. and really good at his job.

 anyway it takes Luo Binghe a few weeks to notice that hes,,, started cooking Shen Yuan food. 

he didnt mean to!! but Shen Yuan is just. very cunning. yes that must be it. pouting at the bland army food is skilled manipulation.

Obviously

 Shen Yuan was scared shitless he'd been caught but he started to relax when Luo Binghe didn't murder him. now he's just assuming the guy must be lonely 

Simp and Stan be like "anyone gonna keep him company" and not wait for an answer

  Shen Yuan isn't nearly as scared of Luo Binghe as SVSSS  Shen Yuan is, because the book didn't really focus on the guy so you missed a lot of his inherent cunning and ruthless streak

hes also blissfully unaware hes gay fyi. he accepts the label simp, but hes like "in a straight way tho"

 Simps just another word for Stan, obviously

No thirst at all

 to add a little bit of humour - the spy for the demon army,  Shang Qinghua (who is. also the author. oops) and Shen Yuan clock eachother as humans and transmigrators almost instantly, and start scheming together about how to win this fucking war

Mobei-jun and Luo Binghe see this and are like "... my human Better Not be fucking the other human or i swear to god"

so now Luo Binghe is like "keep your spy on a leash" and Mobei-jun is contemplating throwing  Shen Yuan into a pit, meanwhile half of the scheming time is taken up by arguing over whose king is the best

two simps go to war

Mini war in the larger war - the large war is going outstandingly well. the mini war is. not.

The mini war has large casualties.  

Such as pride

 fun part of the story probably sees Shen Jiu dragged in front of Luo Binghe to be executed - Luo Binghe didn't want this to happen! Shen Yuan doesn't need to see him brutally murdering people. Shen Yuan is soft and sweet and maybe too sweet to be in a war but still!

 and then  Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu both go pale

 "ayuan?" "...jiu-ge?"

 HA so. Shen Jiu may have been  Shen Yuan 's brother in his original world too.

 so then Luo Binghe, who at this point has been tenderized by love, is now feeling emotions about this

 there was no Luo Binghe in this world, this Shen Jiu never hurt him.

 But - also. its shen qingqiu - he could murder thousands of the man and never feel like he'd gotten his just revenge

 Shang Qinghua is also like. Aware of PIDW. he didn't wanna bring it up! it was a book concept he came up with in uni! it shouldn't be relevant! but um. he. he thinks it might be

"I thought I scrapped the whole book!"

Summary: Mummymon and Arukenimon are reborn in the Ghost Game Universe, with no memories of their previous lives as Oikawa’s underlings. Following different paths of life Mummymon becomes a doctor and Arukenimon an explorer (no she’s not the unhinged one we see in episode 21), both having no idea the other exists- until the pair find themselves in the Human World at the same time. Suffering from simultaneous visions and an overpowering sense of déjà-vu, they decide to work together to find out more about their previous lives- and why they had to come to an end.

Summary: Following a sudden and brutal accident, Arukenimon’s data is heavily damaged and begins to deteriorate rapidly. In order to stop this process and help her recover, Jyou Kido determines that she needs to intake new data to repair her system. Unfortunately, pure data seems to conflict with her own and regular human DNA simply won’t do the trick. The only solution is for her to intake a mixture of both- and there is only one other person who can provide her with it. (a.k.a a Vampire AU with no actual vampires)

i recently saw art of the demon slayer characters playing musical instruments and was wondering what instrument you think the characters would play

ooh very good question! music is not my field of expertise but i can try to organize my few thoughts - also if i mention an instrument that didnʼt exist during that time in that area (which i will) just imagine it's a modern au ^^'

also: i did include canon musical skills but only those i could think of off the top of my head so there might be some stuff missing or just plain ignored lol

okay so we know that zenitsu plays the shamisen and the koto (which apparently originates from the chinese guzheng even tho my former japanese neighbors have been trying to tell me otherwise but what do i know lol i just thought it was funny) and i think his talent would expand to other string instruments as well, he could probably learn how to play the guitar, bass guitar, maybe even violin etc very easily

i can also picture sanemi with a guitar because @trans-ace-lee established that in the modern au and also i think it would be really sexy 😌 which is why i declare it canon

genya would try and copy his brother but he'd be really bad at it and switch to another instrument that's more his style, i'm thinking maybe drums. at first he does it to look cool and then actually having fun is a nice bonus lol

tengen "canonically" plays the harmonica, tho i can see him being a natural at most instruments he picks up. in the au he's been playing piano since he was a child because his dad wanted him to but he actually ended up loving it, he also had to learn hichiriki (a type of flute) and also i made him a music major so he probably plays a ton of instruments a little bit

speaking of flutes, we know that gyomei plays the shakuhachi. given his supreme hearing i'm sure he could learn to play other instruments as well but i don't really see him doing that tbh? like he has his flute and he's very contempt with his flute, the same applies to yoriichi

and nakime obviously plays the biwa in every universe, nakime and her biwa are inseparable

ideas for which i don't have any reason and which are solely based on vibes: giyuu - violin, sabito - e-guitar, kanao - piano, kanae - harp, douma - something unnerving, like an organ, akaza - drums, senjuro - kokyu, daki - goto

and honorable mentions of characters who i think have beautiful singing voices: kanae, tengen, kokushibo, sanemi, nezuko, aoi, kagaya, makomo, urokodaki
