Well, I finally finished Dragon Age: Friendship is Magic and that is *my* biggest regret.

#datv spoilers #great game - nothing but respect for most of the game devs (even if the music was hella bland)#but the writing was atrocious on all fronts imo - plot worldbuilding codices dialogue #and for all this yammering on about “great stories are about change” I'm still 0/2 for the rebellions I wanted to see in this universe #world's been sanitized to hell and back #(and yet funnily enough they still found the time to shit on the Dalish by having them whine about their “responsibility” for the gods)#i did really like all the lore reveals (except the ILLUMINATI) but hated how they factored into the game plot-wise #there were no believable repercussions regarding faith and society which is just a crime #plus the execution via fetch quest was lame imo #current Thedas deserved better #and this was the first Dragon Age game where I just wanted my companions to stfu more #(grown-ass adults telling me *to my face* they won’t focus on stopping the apocalypse unless I fix all of their shit)#(are you so serious right now)#eh well now I'm finally free to mourn properly #I still love the Dragon Age that was #but in the spirit of change I guess I need to accept that my time as a fan of the franchise post Trespasser is done 💔#veilguard critical

i think my favorite part about hating on overwatch as a game is that they still haven't figured out a solid lore reason as to why talon members and overwatch members are fighting on the same team. like in the case of marvel rivals, they're superheroes from comic books; villains and heroes team up all the time. but in overwatch it's just like ehhh. they're hanging out. none of their interactions r canon btw. why the fuck are we pushing this robot

Really wish tloz had hammered in more mythology. Like... have the heroes be representative of a certain thing, and give them all altars or worshippers or just some damn hieroglyphics or statues FOR THE LOVE!!!

For instance, have Sky be a symbol of love like Cupid, maybe. Warriors... war... dur. Maybe magic for the hero of Legend? Though, that one has multiple contenders (hyrule, four).

Wind could be heavily worshipped by islanders and people who live by the ocean in general, and possibly the rito due to his association with wind. So... he's worshipped by islanders, Rito, and Zora.

Time... perhaps youth? His games have childhood and growing up as MAJOR themes, so I'm thinking youth is fitting for him. Hyrule could be like... health...? grasping for straws here, help me. Wild... tough one there. Nature COULD be his thing, but I feel like that's sorta... lazy. Unfortunately, i can't think of anything better for him 💔. Twilight, crops, farming, and such. Four... I know absolutely nothing about his games. Despite reading both mangas, I have no idea, dawg.

wait last post about this but the main reason i shy away from writing a fic set in canon or canon-adjacent (for ANYONE not just mydei or phainon) is that many many mutuals of mine know so much about the universe and the characters and everything and like. the thing is. the hsr lore is very inaccessible to me, someone who never plays the game —

#0 events completed + only ever choosing combat domains in SU/DU (i hate occurrences) + not doing any continuances or catching up with 3.x =#recipe for people correcting me about everything i might possibly write LMFAOAO AND LIKE #also too the wikis are very not filled with canon info #idk how to describe it but they are just quite barebones #and back when i would exclusively write canonverse fics for anime fandoms it was so easy because the wikis were so detailed #you could look up individual EPISODES and get details that way — which made it much easier #hsr wiki is not like that they gatekeep mf everything it’s ridiculous I’M SORRYYYY SOME OF US HATE PLAYING GAMES 😭😭💔💔#m’s thoughts
