y’all seemed to like the last one of these… so-

Soda making it a part of his nightly routine to check for Johnny in the lot, making sure he has a place to sleep every night and a person who cares about him.

Soda giving Darry back rubs and helps cool him down before he loses his head in yet another argument with Pony.

Soda being the only person who can see the emotional burden Steve is carrying, can see how he silently cares for everyone else in the gang.

Soda, waking up at any hour of the night to check up on Pony, makes sure he’s okay after every nightmare. Not caring about how much sleep he loses, only paying attention to giving the comfort his baby brother needs in the moment.

Soda letting Dally find comfort in the presence of the former, no talking necessary. A simple “I’m here if you ever need me.” Dally won’t ever let his walls down, so he builds a ladder to get through them.

Soda looking past the alcoholic in Two-bit. Seeing the scared kid who doesn’t know how to quit but so desperately wants to, helping the kid come out again. One less bottle at a time.

Soda who held Johnny in the lot

Soda who lightens the burden Darry is constantly carrying

Soda who knows there’s more to Steve than he lets on

Soda who has held Pony in his arms more times than he can count

Soda who doesn’t pry into Dally’s life but still comforts him anyways

Soda who trades the bottles of beer for water

Soda who will put everyone else before him, and even then. Still won’t make a peep about his problems.

Soda who cares for everyone else’s emotions while his are overlooked.

Just, Soda.
