Oh, the idea that, dialogue that five pebbles is having with gourmand, is not what he said in rl, but, is more like what slugcats are thinking fp was telling gourmand, is like really fun!
Just the idea that all slugs all together think fp is mean, but they like still treat him with respect, is somehow really funny to me :D
Like, if we consider that all gourmand story, is just legeng that slugs telling eachother, fp behaviour is reasonable, like gods in most human myths are usually mean to mortals, but still help them.
Also, when we meet fp,( as a survivor or monk) he still dont really welcoming us, he still pretty mean, if i can say so ( he will kill you, if you return to him, dont forget) and if we consider thet gourman story is very exaggerating, ( like crafting fucking live!!!), idea that fp, is too become more mean, and so different from how we know he is behaving usually, is very likely!
Sorry for babbling, i just read you thought, and start overthinking...this idea can eat me alive fr, i can even start thinking about how slugcats see themselves in rain world, just by consider what abilities gourmand have....
I guess, but I still think that through that lense its still unreasonable since FP wouldn't give a shit if Gourmand was fat. I just hate how in Downpour he like... never does his fucking job with Artificer or Gourmand (trying to guide them towards ascension)
And going by the tall tale lense of gourmand's campaign, I could totally see it going the other way too, Five Pebbles acknowledging Gourmand as successful, and as such suggesting that they lead the Slugcats away from Pebbles (I rewrote FP Gorm dialogue where this is the case) Also, most Slugcats have never interacted with Five Pebbles. They'd find him scary possibly, but a lot of them likely wouldn't even process that's a GUY. To them that's just a really big structure that if you climb you can get enlightenment from.
Five pebbles is never mean to you in Survivor or Monk, I'm really frustrated having to constantly tell people this, but he's just being AUTHORITATIVE and FORMAL with you. He cuts to the chase, telling you the deal and how to fix it, and then sends you off. You re-entering his chamber is interrupting his work and he doesn't have the patience to put up with it. He warns you THREE times to get out, and if you don't listen that's your fault.
I'm so fucking sick of Pebbles being portrayed as this Slugcat-hater asshole when he was never that. Yes he's kind of rude to Monk, but he's annoyed with these rats that keep ending up in his conflux and he has the right to complain about it. Even still, he gives you Free Enlightenment and the same directions. This idea that he's like this always comes from people not fully understanding they're NOT the fucking Main Character and nobody in this world owes you shit, especially not Pebbles
Also the crafting living creatures/food is more a gameplay issue to some degree for me, since the food quest is trivialized by having the wiki page crafting table open, and makes the whole "exploring around" bit not really mean much

Thoughts on The Matchmakers | ep10
Given how underwhelmed I was by ep 8, it was a surprise how much I enjoyed ep 9, and even more so ep 10!! It's not that my good opinion of a drama, once gone, is gone forever... but kinda.
I think it's really hard to come back from a boring (to me) ep. It's usually a sign that the plot's going in the wrong direction. But I guess in this drama's case, what I found dull was all stuff that was supposed to help the plot moving forward. It just felt like the wrong ratio of fun/engaging stuff and politics/side plots I didn't care for.
Anyway ep 10. That fox rain confession. I love that he asked "why did you lie about not liking me" and listed the clues. He was confident but not demanding. Like he just wanted to hear her point of view. And she admitted that she liked him, and told him the truth. That the thought of her late husband was holding her back.
Then we move on to the unexpected tragic gay love story. It honestly makes me wanna watch (utopian) period & happy gay romance (if only). I was pleasantly surprised by the acknowledgement/existence of homosexuality in the drama...but it's also giving "bury your gays" so idk. They share one on-screen hug and get murdered/injured. They're also mostly here to get the main characters to think about their feelings about their dead spouses.
FL's orabeoni is.... he has a charming side when he's with 3rd sister. But he's such a terrible brother, like wow! Not only was he incapable of recognizing her, he also just assumed she was forced into a marriage? Never noticed she loved the man?? And made himself celibate over that lol. And when he admits that to her and she's upset, he looks 100% unable to deal with her sadness.
But I think his future wife will cure him of his patriarchal ways what with her novel writing and cross-dressing. And she proposed first.
It was fun how Mr Prince turned out to be/ accepted his role as a matchmaker. Saw the officer jump in the river, felt the usual heartache, and thought, ha! So that's what it was. They belong together.
The way he said "Mr Officer will take responsibility" and the man was like "fine, yes, I guess I have no other choice" and his sister stood there like??? I guess they're both blind when it comes to family.
Also how 3rd sister ran the fuck away from him at first, and then ran back!!
Anyway the leads' emotional journey was an interesting one this ep. We start with feelings admitted on both sides but no prospects of a future, since FL feels she must remain single for her husband's sake. They meet the gay monk who's decided to stay close to his lover in whatever small way he could. We get to hear that ML actually did like his wife. Which I wouldn't have guessed!! And he really thinks about it, and decides that neither of them have to forget their first loves. And he says it very eloquently with a promise of a future together.
That being said, are we really setting up the child prince and a grown woman? Please tell me it isn't so. I feel weird about this. I'm fine with all the other pairings but what is this?
Re: political intrigues, I might need to make my own red string conspiracy board. I keep missing and forgetting key plot points. Like oh the dead gay scholar was FL's brother in law!! So the man who murdered him was her father in law!! And her mother in law is attempting to seize power, was she also involved in the princess' death? All of these characters are connected somehow. I hope I get it when they unravel the whole thing.

"No matter what you think, she's probably quicker than you."
Since I already did Maize a while back, let's introduce Konnie!
Tumblr media
This is Konnie Sai, a half-Saiyan living on Earth with her parents. One's a royal scientist and the other is an alien fleeing the turmoil of North Galaxy. They live a peaceful and happy life together, and all seems grand... Except, Konnie's dad refuses to let her train.
Pretty strange, for a Saiyan to outright forbid their child from learning to fight. But her father, Okkoro, has his reasons. For one, Earth is a peaceful place in this AU. As far as Okkoro knows, there's no threat for Konnie to face, so why should she needlessly risk herself? And besides, he doesn't want Konnie to become like the Saiyans he once knew. But thats another story for another time.
The other thing Okkoro refuses to do is tell Konnie anything about Saiyans. He wants her to live a happy, peaceful life as a human. In a way, he wants her to almost forget that she's part Saiyan in the first place. And that, more than anything perhaps, is what gets to Konnie. She wants to know, she wants to learn, and she's stubbornly insistent on it too! And she gets that stubbornness from her father, who is just as unyielding as Konnie. It's an impasse between them and it always has been, despite the fact that they're otherwise a loving duo.
This leads to Konnie becoming a girl of lofty aspirations and pent-up rage. So what does she do? She vents about it on her blog. The Internet exists on this Earth, after all. She's definitely not the only kid venting their frustrations into posts that nobody will ever read. However, one day, she lets something slip...
"I mean does he actually think I'm gonna ignore the fact that I'm a saiyan too or something? Like what the fuck!!!"
Tumblr media
Somehow, gods only know how, Konnie's vent post attracted the attention of the only other Saiyan on Earth: Maize.
Over time, Maize and Konnie become friends. Konnie pesters her constantly about training, but Maize doesn't seem to mind and answers all her questions. In return, Konnie tells Maize about what her own life is like. It seems odd that Maize has no idea what a high school is, but she's nice to talk to. And although Konnie wasn't able to see the World Martial Arts Tournament in person, she still gets to see Maize win twice in a row. What a lucky friend she made!
However, she can't tell her parents. Gods know what her dad would do if he knew she was talking to another Saiyan, right? Nevertheless, the two keep in touch as much as they can.
kawaii-dipshit: so you've never once been to the larger cities? Not even a little bit? I wish I could invite you over! monke: that would be fun kawaii-dipshit: OH YEAH CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AT SCHOOL TODAY monke: yeah kawaii-dipshit: I had detention cause someone called me a fat bitch and I told him to eat shit. I mean he got in trouble too at least but still monke: whats detention
Soon, Konnie's junior year of high school reaches its end. And one day, shortly before the end of the year, she gets detention after school. Again. And detention sucks, since they hold it in a classroom in the basement and it takes forever to get to the exit. However, Konnie serves her time and not a second more.
On her way out, something catches her eye: A little golden ball. Taking it, Konnie returns home and does a bit of research. But all she can pull up is an old myth about a wish-granting dragon. But that's ridiculous! No way could something like that be real, right...?
Hey, no matter what position the ball is in, she can always see the stars engraved on its surface. Even just by holding it, it seems to have some kind of deeper power, almost vibrating in her hands. And come to think of it, Konnie's an alien! If those exist, why can't there be wish-granting dragons...?
kawaii-dipshit: MAIZE I HAVE AN IDEA kawaii-dipshit: IF WE COLLECT ALL SEVEN WE CAN GET SOME ANSWERS ABOUT THE SAIYANS monke: wait you want to find the rest? monke: where are the rest? kawaii-dipshit: Idk but WE CAN TRY TO FIND THEM
The way Konnie sees it, if her dad won't tell her what she wants to know, the Eternal Dragon will. And that's why she decides to hunt for the Dragon Balls once school is out! With a little help from her mother, she gets her hands on a prototype radar and arranges to meet up with Maize for the first time, even telling her dad she's going to visit some friends for a day. After all, Maize can fly, so the search shouldn't take more than a day. Right?
Well... It was a very eventful day, let's just put it that way. So eventful in fact, that it sparked a whole chain of events! These ones, actually!
Anyway fun trivia about Konnie:
Aside from the Saiyan stuff, she actually cares a lot about her dad. She doesn't know that he's keeping these secrets out of sheer fucking regret for the things he's done.
Getting dental work done was a nightmare since Konnie inherited the teeth of a Saiyan.
The girl's a pretty decent chef, for a teenager. She's unapologetic about her passion for good food, even showing Maize how to properly gut and fillet fish during Three Musketeers. However, she will say that her mother's fried rice is better than anything she can make.
She thinks her short tail is very cute.
There is literally nothing that can stop Konnie from doing something once she gets the idea that she has to do it.
She's a furry.
Anyway that's enough of her for now-

The Bear and the Nightingale (2017)
Yay first one! (Whether you read the long synopsis or not, the ranking is at the bottom)
Funny story before I get into it: so my boyfriend's brother bought me this book in paperback for Christmas. I had not started reading it yet, but I was checking my Kindle to see how many books I read in 2019 and saw that I had purchased this a while back, never got around to reading it, and forgot I had it. So I'm taking back the paperback as soon as his blizzard is over (which oddly fits the book) and bought the second and third on Kindle. I have another gift card, but I need all three books to be in the same format.
Short synopsis:
Vasya is a young girl in a small village northern Rus' who can see things others can't. Everyone thinks she's a witch. The frost demon Morozko watches and protects her to keep himself strong enough to contain the Bear. An epic story about the clash between the old religions & the domineering Christianity & about the sexism of the time.
Long synopsis:
Moving on. Our story opens in Northern Rus' in the remote village of Lesnaya Zemlya bordering a large forest with the family of Pyotr Vladimirovich, his wife Marina Ivanovna, and their children Kolya (Nikolai Petrovich), Sasha (Aleksandr Petrovich), Olya (Olga Petrovna), Alyosha (Aleksei Petrovich), a bun in the oven, and their nurse, Dunya (Darya Nikolaevna). There's some important backstory though. Marina is the daughter of Ivan I Grand Prince in Moscow and his third wife, a mysterious woman who wandered out of the woods with no family, no history, and many suspected she was a witch. Marina knew it would be her last child and it would be a girl like her mother. This is set during the late 13th century, after Genghis Kahn died while the Tatars were still dominating the area. But Marina was right. She died in childbirth delivering Vasya (Vasilisa Petrovna). Throughout the book, there are hints that everyone but Sasha blames Vasya a little for Marina dying.
Vasya grows up naughty and ugly, with huge green eyes, black hair with a hint of red, a mouth too big for her face, long limbs, and too skinny. Olya calls her "little frog." Vasya does whatever she wants: Dunya is old, Pyotr is a busy man between being the Lord of the area and a farmer, and she has no stepmother. One evening, Vasya gets lost in the forest and sees a one-eyed man sitting against a gnarled black oak tree she had never seen before. He was uber creepy. But then another man shows up on his horse, refers to the one-eyed man as Medved, and tries to talk to Vasya. She gets scared and runs, but neither man pursues her. After she gets home (still freaking out), Pyotr decides it's time to remarry before Vasya gets unmanageable. He takes Kolya and Sasha with him to Moscow to find himself a wife and Olya a husband. It's mentioned several times throughout how a character cleans the ice out of their horse's hooves or mane, which I think is a great addition because it really solidifies the time period by how important horses were to everybody. Once they are settled in Moscow, Sasha spends time with other devout Christians (he prays a lot) and discovers that there is a renowned holy man (Sergei Radoneshsky) at a monastery three days north of Moscow. Pyotr lets him go alone to meet the man. Once Sasha gets there, he decides he wants to be a monk at this monastery and goes back to Moscow to ask his father. Pyotr agrees on two conditions: 1. Sasha cannot join the order or speak to Father Sergei until after the next harvest; 2. Sasha will be disinherited. Which honestly I think is fair.
A minor character that sets a lot of major things in motion is the Metropolitan of Moscow, Aleksei. Took me a minute to figure out that that means he's a bishop. Anyway, basically his job is really to deal with problems that might hurt the future of the current family ruling. Initially, he lines up marriages: Olya to a lesser prince that could have a claim to the throne of he married higher, and Pyotr to the Grand Prince's mad daughter, Anna Ivanovna. She saw demons everywhere except the church, so she wanted to be a nun. Of the two arranged marriages, the latter was less necessary in the initial context but crucial to rest of the plot. On their way back home, they run into a strange man, slight in stature but moves too quickly to see with pale skin, curly black hair, and icy blue eyes. He admires Pyotr's horse and Kolya is a dick to him about it, so the man has a knife to his throat. To save Kolya, Pyotr must give a necklace with a bright sapphire stone in it to Vasya to keep with her always. Kolya forgets the encounter altogether and wonders about the white scars on his neck... Pyotr is nervous about he necklace, so he gives it to Dunya. Dunya doesn't want to spoil her, so she decides to keep it for a while. Then she starts having one of several dreams in which she is confronted about keeping what is not hers.
After Sasha and Olya leave to be a monk and marry, respectively, Vasya spends less time with people. We soon learn that she can see creatures, the spirits from the old fairy tales Dunya told. Except they're real. Vasya is not crazy, and neither is Anna, but Anna is too Christian to be cool about it. Plus, Anna is a mean stepmother, strongly preferring her own daughter, Irina Petrovna. Vasya soon befriends the domovoi who lives in the oven and protects the house. Vasya doesn't realize her family can't see these creatures, so she talks to the vazila, the spirit of the horses who guards the stables. He says that she and Anna are the only people who can see them. Vasya thinks the stables are safer, so she visits the vazila often. He teaches her to speak to horses and understand them.
Then our friend Aleksei the Metropolitan does his last bit of manipulation. There is a priest in Moscow who is very good looking and gifted at painting icons. Aleksei is concerned that this will cause too many disruptions, so when the priest up in Lesnaya Zemlya dies, he sends the pretty priest, Father Konstantin Nikonovich, up there to take his place. I've never hated a fictional character so much in my life. Vasya is talking to the rusalka, a river demon who lives off of consuming the fears and desires of various animals and humans, killing them in the process. She goes for men a lot. Vasya unfortunately stops her from killing Father Konstantin. He immediately dislikes Vasya, thinking her too bold and not pious enough. Anna is obsessed with Konstantin because priests are her favorite and this is a hot one.
As time goes on, Vasya gets less and less like a lady should be, which infuriates Konstantin, but he's also having impure thoughts about her, which infuriates him in other ways. Anna and Konstantin try to convince everyone that if they continue to leave offerings for the old spirits, they will go to Hell. But shortly after, the village faces all the hardships. Freezing cold. Food shortage. People dying from the temperature. Wolves eating livestock. And then the crops flood. What survives the flood in the spring burns in the summer. Konstantin tells everyone that God is testing their faith, meanwhile Vasya is trying to sneak offerings and keep people alive. She also learns how to ride horses. Pyotr betrothes her to a Lord/horse breeder from a few towns over, Kyril Artamonovich. He's an oblivious ass. When he finds out she can ride, he calls off the wedding and leaves. Konstantin convinces Anna that Vasya somehow will get Irina killed, so when Pyotr leaves town, Anna tries to get rid of Vasya, either by death or by hog-tying her and taking her to a convent. Anna tells Vasya that she can stay if she finds snowdrops (the flower) in the forest (it's midwinter). Vasya takes off to find some, deciding worst case scenario, she would rather die in the forest than in a convent. She ends up at the gnarled black oak from her childhood, and the one-eyed man is still there. He tries to grab her, but the same man on horseback swoops in and saves her. He takes her back to his "house" to rest. She shortly finds out that he is Morozko, the god of winter and death. The one-eyed man is his brother, Medved, the Bear, the god of fear and suffering. Morozko has had him bound for a few hundred years, but with the offerings decreasing, Medved's strength is increasing. Morozko is known to be a trickster and a lavish gift-giver. Among other things, he gives Vasya a horse called Solovey (Russian for Nightingale), a young bay colored stallion who is not quite as mortal as your average horse. He also gives Vasya some snowdrops so that she may go home, but when she arrives, things are not how she left them. This is where we hit the climax, and I'm not giving away the ending. 😉
I'm very into folklore and old religions, I love forests, and Russian history is so long and colorful that it's been a fascination of mine for a while. Plus, ice stories interest me, maybe because my birthday is frequently cold and icy. So this was a great book for me to read. It's also clear how well-researched it is, as well as spelling things so that an English speaker would still be saying it with the Russian pronunciation.
On a scale of 1-5, I give it a 4.5. It would be higher but so many characters were unlikeable.

17 year old british ex-muslim. Here are my reasons for leaving. Potential ex muslims will read for a eureka moment :) via /r/atheism
Submitted June 27, 2017 at 03:57AM by boredashellitsinsane (Via reddit http://ift.tt/2sgpR8V) 17 year old british ex-muslim. Here are my reasons for leaving. Potential ex muslims will read for a eureka moment :)
I’m 17 years old, live in the uk. Born into a muslim family. Thanks to the help of relatives and various others i was able to leave and currently live away from my parents. It’s a crazy world lol
Alright so below is a combination of every possible reason you can think for leaving Islam. Every one of these points combined together to result in my removal from the religion. I hope by this some potentially shaky muslims who read this will wake up, and realise that their doubt is founded upon good reason and that they have every reason to keep looking for the right thing to do. Ex-Muslims are not idiots who know fuck all about their religion. In fact they know so much they begin to hate it. It's often people that start studying the religion seriously having had an open mind prior to doing so that apostate. They realise that shit honestly does not make sense, and regardless of how you look it, continuously explaining stuff away with "god willed it, that's how it is" gets a bit tiring mentally. We are humans. We have reason and we cannot live comfortably knowing that we are hiding things from ourselves in order to remain 'stable'.
Not all of this is my own content. Much was collected from answers around Quora but were written better than I could have so I included them. I did have my own complete stuff written painstakingly by myself. which i posted on Quora. Unfortunately I wasn't anonymous and it went viral and that fucked me over in the real world. Now that I'm away from that shit I thought I'd post again.
why does Allah always threaten us and intimidate us into loving him?
Every Muslim on this planet has one thing in common, the Holy Quran. Regardless of different sects and books of hadith, everyone believes Quran to be the perfect word of God. So after having concerns with Islam in general, I analyzed the Holy Quran. The following are some of my major objections derived from the Quran that made me leave my faith.
Islamic Heaven
The image of heaven is painted like it's a fantasy of a 6th century arab; Lavish silk clothing, jewelery, young boys circulating wine, full breasted, large beautiful eyed virgins, shades of palm and banana tress, rivers of honey and milk, meat of the fowl etc. That heaven is not for anyone else or for all times. And it's not intended to be a metaphor. (the verses are spread out in the Quran).
Murdering a child and Moses
In an event, a man kills a child in front of Moses. Upon inquiring,Moses is told that the child would have grown up to be a non believer and that would burden his Muslim parents (verse 18:74- verse18-82). Implying it's ok to murder a child because he may not grow up to be a Muslim.
Miracles
The many fables about miracles. Moon splitting in two, fish swallowing a prophet, miracles of Moses and Jesus etc. People who wrote the book didn't believe them to be metaphors. They believe it literally happened. How's that any different from myths found in other religions?
Adam and Eve
The story of Adam and Eve as the initiation of creation on earth. It doesn't relate with evolution, which makes sense. There are many holes in the story. Are we then the product of incest? One couple can't populate the earth. Why would God create his own game set the rules, watch as Satan tells them about the tree and then freaks out afterwards. Unless that too is somehow a metaphor.
6 days of Creation
At one point it states , God says be and it happens. But then He needs 6 days to create the universe. Theists say, the time is different for us. For us it's 6 days, for Him it's a moment. But that's only speculation and an excuse for this inconsistency. (verses : 32:4, 50:38, 7:54, 57:4, 25:59)
Allah controls everything
Allah chooses not to interfere, hence our free will. But Quran has inconsistencies on the matter. At several points it says Allah guides those whom He wills, He controls who becomes a Muslim. If I'm searching for Him and He decides that He doesn't want me as a Muslim, i can't do anything about it. Also He says that family and children are less important than him, which doesn't sit will with me. A religious person can leave his family if God tells them too, can murder his child, can do anything if God tells them to. And how does one know that the voices or dreams they're having are a mere product of their mind and not some universal celestial being sending vague signals?
Expressing loudly is frowned upon
Verse 31:19 indicates that if you speak or laugh loudly you sound like a donkey. This expression, one would expect from a child, not from an All knowing God. He created the donkey to be ridiculed? And to use this analogy, a celestial being can do better.
Christians and Jews
Earlier on Quran says they are both allies, people of the book. When they don't acknowledge the prophet or Islam and keep their faith, Quran curses them. The Jews were cursed first, when their relationship got bitter with Muslims, during the battle of trench. Quran said Christians are nice as they have monks and priests who are truthful. Then they were cursed too. It said not to take either of them as allies and may Allah destroy them. And then Jews are prohibited fat of animals. This sounds more like the intentions of the prophet rather than inconsistent commands of Allah. But you can marry their women to spread Islam, in hopes that they'd convert. (verses : 5:51, 5:82, 9:30, 6:146)
Context based signs
Allah talks about signs in the universe for His existence. But all these signs were observable in the 6th century desert. Ships, seas, childbirth, moon, sky without pillars like a plane, rain, sun, palm trees, pomegranates, grapevines, creation from sperm, rivers, earth laid out, mountains, having sons as wealth, hunting and tents from hides etc. Nothing even outside of the context. Elm and oak trees provide a greater shade than palm trees. They're never mentioned. The evidence of signs is not convincing to a person looking for God in modern times.
Battles
Violent verses during battles aren't really objectionable. Except a few. For example the verse 8:67 says to not have slaves unless you spread massacre across the land. But the tone of the verses is barbaric. Striking necks, fingertips, slaughter etc. The same message could be delivered in a much better way if the said God is humble, kind and hates unnecessary violence
God, punishments and genocide
One can't really judge God on the scale of human morality. But His kill count is much higher. He admits He kills nations in their sleep at night or noon. He's no divine, humble, mature celestial being. He's jealous and vindictive. He creates pigs and monkeys as symbols of insult and mockery, then turns humans into those animals. He says when you're in power, do not show mercy. But then the prophet showed mercy at conquest of Mecca. Maybe that's another inconsistency. Cursing an ancient Arab like Abu Lahab in the divine Book of guidance seems trivial and petty for a God. He says don't attend the funerals of your non Muslim friends. And there's even a verse (22:15) that says if you don't believe in the prophet, try and hang yourself with a rope from the ceiling and see if that changes anything. That's an All wise God’s message. And He says if you're told to kill yourself for God, that is better for you .Verse 59:5 justifies the cutting down of trees in a desert. It's all a game, He creates and destroys. (verse: 32:26, 5:60, 7:4, 66:9, 111:1, 5:33, 4:65)
Rulings
Marrying your adopted son's wife is totally fine. You can never call him your true son. The person you see as your daughter in law can be your wife. This would only induce feelings of hatred between the son and his father. 100 lashes to a couple who consensually has premarital sex. Why? You don't know them, they're not hurting you, no one's being raped. You barge into their lives, lash them in front of an audience, humiliate them and be pleased with yourself of having done a noble deed. If you want to educate people about sex, it's their parents job. It's their families concern. It's not Allah's concern. It's not your job to lash anyone. Cursing gays when it's not a choice and God made them that way.
Slavery
Yes, Islam liberated slaves of the 6th century. They were treated as daughters, sons, sisters, brothers. They were fed and clothed like their masters. They could demand freedom. But God knows better that in the modern world, good treatment of a slave is no excuse to own a human being. Slavery wasn't banned by Allah like wine or pork was. There was a contract that stated this man or woman is your property. Owning a human being is wrong. If God could add a clear verse about not consuming pork, what prevented him to add a clear verse about not owning human beings? Why leave that to vague examples and Muslims doing mental gymnastics trying to somehow make it sound reasonable?
Sexual slavery being allowed in Islam. Now that is absurd. How can that be allowed in Islam, that would be hypocrisy. So u mean premarital sex is totally a "No-No" but having sex with your slaves, even if they if are married is absolutely fine?
Women
Woman were given many rights and they too were liberated in Islam. But then it stopped. It's clear from reading the Quran that it's from a male's perspective in which woman at times are treated as inferiors. She can't divorce in the same way a man can There has to be two female witnesses for one man, so if one female forgets the other can remind her Marrying any four women and amongst your many many concubines, but women don't have the same choices If a woman is raped and can't produce four witnesses. She might even get punished herself. She wouldn't get justice Verse 24:31 says “…. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment…” Meaning, a woman should not move in a way that reveals her body. It restricts you in illogical ways. You play sports, you're sinning. You can't dance, get excited and express it. One can beat women if she cheats (yes I've heard the miswaq example) the woman can't beat a man.
Outside of the Quran, there are many other problems with the mere idea of God. One look at innocent children dying of horrible diseases, being tortured in pain, may make a logical believer question the idea of a merciful loving God.
Or if one digs deep into history and looks at the religion's role models, they're found to have done some questionable things. They were people of their time. Who did some good and some bad things. Definitely not the perfect examples of character.
And if one does a philosophical analysis of religion. It's about getting rid of your own individuality to serve men in power who claim to talk to God. To obsessively idolize a man, called the perfect human being. If you're born different in this religion, you're labeled a sinner. Organized religion suffocates dreamers and free thinkers. It makes them guilty of their ability to fly and many cut of their wings to fit in. I for one am glad I took the leap of faith away from my indoctrination.
1) According to Quran mountains prevent earthquake or the shaking of the earth. in Sura Al-Anbiyaa (Chapter 21 verse# 31) It says " And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them”
If Mountains are there to stop the earth from shaking, then why do we see so many earthquakes in mountainous regions?. For example, Japan is a mountainous zone but it has 1500 earthquakes every year.'Shaking of the earth' and earth quakes mean the same thing right? Mountains are created because of the movement of tectonic plates. They do not stablize the earth or prevent shaking of the earth. This verse is clearly in error
2) The Quran In Sura Al Mulk (Chapter 67) Ayaat # 5 it says
"And We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and we have made such (Lamps as) missiles to drive away Satans, ... "
So the stars were created by Allah as missiles to throw at the devils? In order to not let them eavesdrop on the heavenly council?
The first ayaat says stars are lamps that is fine but lamps (stars) are not thrown at devils
3) Why does the Quran say Allah prevents the sky from falling into the earth? The Holy Quran in Sura Al Hajj ( chapter 22 verse# 65) says
Pickthall:He holdeth back the heaven from falling on the earth unless by His leave. Lo! Allah is, for mankind, Full of Pity, Merciful.
As we know the sky is vast. So how can it fall into the earth? This sounds absurd.
4) According to the Quran honey comes from the body of the bee. In Sura an Nahl An Nahl (chapter 16 verse # 69) says
YUSUFALI: Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men.
A bee makes honey from the collected then chewed up pollen from plants. The bee never actually swallows and or digests the pollen. Honey does not come from the bodyof the bee. The bees chew their nectar through their mouth. After that nectar is dried out in the honeycomb and honey is formed. The verse in Quran is scientifically incorrect.
Homosexual men are to be killed. Homosexual women however, are subject only to lashes.
Wasn’t Quran supposed to be a book that is “The Guidance for All Mankind”? Then why is it written in words so difficult that they are beyond the comprehension of normal people and even majority of the so called scholars. Literally no one understands it properly with everyone having their own interpretation of it’s words.
The Quran assumes a flat earth which has physical places into which the sun sets and rises from. Since the earth is a rotating sphere, the sun does not set in any particular place and you can never travel to "the spot" where the sun sets nor a place where it rises.
Till, when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout. We said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Either punish or show them kindness. - Quran 18:86
Till, when he reached the rising-place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter therefrom. - Quran 18:90
We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us. - Quran 50:38
The earth first formed around 9 billion years after the Big Bang. The Quran, however, repeats the prevailing middle eastern myth that the earth and universe were formed in six days.
This minute fact that the prophet had a desire to marry his adopted son's ex wife and suddenly a verse in the quran states that its a command by allah and its perfectly fine to do so. What it seems to me that Mohammed just made up a verse to suit his own desires
There’s a story in the Kuran about a king called Dhul’Qarnain (he of the two horns) who conquered the world of his time from east to west. a devoted king who feared god, was just, and fought Gog and Magog(another Sci-FI version of old aliens) , but it turns out that this was an ancient myth about Alexander the great, who was a polytheist (not monotheist), tyrant, a mass murder, and who loves men in his bed rather than woman (not being homophobic here but just to prove that Mohamed got his fairy tail completely wrong.
The christian king who wanted to destroy the Kaaba, he brought his elephants, he set off from Yemen, crossed the whole Arabian desert, but was defeated in Mecca by firing birds (from Allah). An elephant who needs at least 200 litres of water daily and a 3 tons of herbs/vegetation to eat could survive a journey of nearly a month in one of the driest deserts on earth. Go figure.
Even if warned, disbelievers will disbelieve. Allah has placed seal on their heart and hearing, and they are closed from accepting Allah’s guidance.
Thoughts - Really, this is the all merciful, all powerful Allah who prevents people from accepting guidance, brands them as disbelievers and then says its okay to kill them? And if Allah places a seal on the heart of disbelievers, then where is the glory in killing them, or preaching to them in an attempt to convert?
Allah mocks them(the hypocrites) and increases their wrong doings.
Thoughts - If Allah can increase the wrong doings, then why can’t he decrease them? Isn’t he all powerful? He increases the fallacies of the disbelievers, places a seal on their heart, prevents them from accepting guidance, and then throws them to hell fire. Sadist much?
Doubters will go to hell.
Thoughts - Wow, what an way to prevent logical questioning! What kind of power does Allah have if he cant even clear doubts.
Echoes the above sentiment. Basically says that no questioning/curiosity is allowed. Questioners are sinners, disbelievers and will be condemned to hell.
Thoughts - Hello, hell.
There is no compulsion in religion.
Thoughts - Finally! A joke in this book. LOL!!!
And we shall cast terror into the heart of disbelievers.
Thoughts - Why? They have been made disbelievers by the will of Allah. Allah increases their fallacies and throws them into hell. And even then, that much of sadism isn’t enough? Right now, I need to read the “No compulsion in religion” line again. I need a good laugh.
6:14 - Muhammad said that he is the first to be commanded among those who submit themselves to Allah as Muslims.
Thoughts - This screams contradiction and cooked up theories. What was all that stuff about Jesus being sent by Allah and that he had declared that he was a Muslim. This verse contradicts directly with - 5:111, 5:112, 3:67.
Mostly from what I observed that muslims don’t tend to question their own religion which contradicts the basic logical reasoning to everything that’s happening around them and just act blindly to everything that has been proved scientifically.
"Also I think if it happened and there is a GOD out there, he will forgive our disbelieving. If he created our mind to think at everything, so it’s nature to think that religions doesn’t make sense. I don’t believe in him because I’m some bad guy, but because I have no clue of his existence."
People need to open their eyes and see the reality of the hate-obsessed cult that is Islam.
Hoped this helped out some you :)
