Sometimes I remember that Lucifer literally told MC he was glad their parents bred instead of beong normal and wishing them a happy birthday…

I think about that call so often it’s stupid- like the fact it’s Lucifer’s FIRST birthday call to MC too 😭

Lucifer has absolutely no clue how to act normal and while he’s being genuine and simply trying to convey how much MC means to him, (even tho he’s only known MC for a short time at that point.) it sounds so- weird.

today is the first night of hannukah and it has just occurred to me that moony spends every first seder in wolf form (because the jewish calendar is lunar.)

Really weird seeing photos of my pre-transition self and thinking “yup, that’s me” and not feeling insecure about it. Like my hair is almost the exact style and length it was RIGHT before I came out. I’m older now, and I’ve got a full beard, but otherwise I look pretty much the same.

And I think a year ago that would have made me really self conscious. Part of the reason I used to shave my head is I ALWAYS had my hair long as a kid, so having it GONE made me look like a totally different person. And for a while, I wanted that. I wanted distance from the insecure, scared kid I used to be.

But now I look in the mirror, and I see the same shoulder length hair I had back then. And I think about the moment I decided to finally come out, when I looked in the mirror late one night and saw a reflection a lot like this one. I looked in my own eyes and saw something so tired, so lonely there, and after years of feeling out of place I finally decided I have to do something about this.

And I look in the mirror today and I just think: There she is. There’s that girl I used to be. There’s that girl I worried about leaving behind, that girl who always felt so out of placing being a girl, but felt too scared to do anything about it.

I spent so long running from that girl. I spent years thinking I’d killed her to become the man I am today. But I didn’t. She’s right here.

I have the same shoulder length hair she does. I’m wearing her favorite pair of earrings, the ones she got at a craft fair years and years ago. But I also have a beard, and I’m wearing a men’s flannel from the thrift shop downtown, and I have a healthy weight on my bones.

I look in the mirror and I see that girl, and I also see a man, I see me, and I feel so indescribably, overwhelmingly happy.

Because I didn’t leave her behind. I didn’t bury her to become who she always wanted to be. I tucked her away, deep inside me until it was safe for her to come out. I am not her, but I was her, and I love her. And I am so happy she can finally know what it feels like to not have to pretend. I am so glad that after an entire childhood in the dark, that little girl gets to feel the sun on her face.

My answer: I’ve been watching The Great Gatsby (movie) lately and I think the depiction of Nick Carraway by Tobey Maguire is kind of aroace-coded? But just specifically in the movie. Idk, It’s canon in my head :).
