Part of the reason I'm so adamant about encouraging people to get comfortable with bugs, my own interests aside, is because we cannot have a bright, solarpunk future without them.

A green future is not a bugless future. It is, in fact, a fairly bugful future. If you care about ecological stability, then you need to start with bugs, because they're the most at risk with our current use of pesticides.

#solarpunk #I'm sure someone actually working in conservation can chip in with more detail but #I just notice that a lot of these solarpunk aesthetics tend to be full of plants but often bereft of bugs #and people tend to avoid them as a whole out of courtesy for people who might be afraid of so much as an image #but we NEED to get comfortable with them existing and being around us #we need to stop encouraging fearing and hating them as a bonding activity #and to all of you trying to do that right now even though you have a phobia: I'm proud of you.

today's (short) botw session involved investigating an abandoned enemy camp, scouring the teeth of the breach for korok seeds, launching myself in the air three times and then waiting until I could do it again over and over to look at the tops of trees, catching a lot of frogs, putting on my rubber pants, solving a riddle in the middle of a storm, figuring out a shrine and getting a rubber shirt for my trouble, climbing around collecting rushrooms, taking part in a foot race (and winning) and finally wailing on some bokoblins for a nice sword.

#charlie babbles #spoiled forever by revali's gale truly #also I imagine the footrace is harder when you don't have three full wheels of stamina #had to restart the shrine once because I blew up too many blocks but I did feel clever for knocking the chest down with the big metal one #90/120 shrines - only 30 left!#we're also very near 300/900 koroks #I doubt I'll find them all on my own or even want to but I'm amazed I found this many so far #the only region I haven't explored really at all is Eldin #I'm avoiding it for now
