I had to ask customer support about Grima in CYL after making the top 20 but not being ranked and shockingly they responded to me (and some others on Reddit I saw) so here! Outright confirmation Grima doesn't fit into the male or female catergory

while i appreciate the sentiment behind "nonbinary people don't owe you androgyny" posts, the next level up from that is the understanding that androgyny as such doesn't exist in western society. the things that we associate with androgyny are almost uniformly masculine, but treated as neutral because under cissexism and patriarchy, masculinity is neutral. it isn't enough to assert that nonbinary people can dress however we want and still be nonbinary, if that assertion is still framed around the false dichotomy of femininity and masculinity. what we understand to be feminine or masculine is entirely socially constructed, and we have to train ourselves out of the impulse to neatly sort any individual's personal presentation into a box if we want to eventually loosen the grip that gender essentialism has on all of us.

There's something that sucks so badly about a nonbinary wrestler's contract running out in June and not getting renewed, I know it'll be a coincidence but I'm sure AEW is gonna have some pride month stuff lined up and it will suck not seeing Abadon be a part of that

The thing that sucks sometimes about transition envy is that, I guess you almost expect yourself to "grow out" of it the more you transition. I used to feel so much envy, and it was something I hoped would stop once I transitioned medically, and while it's absolutely less frequent... man, when I experience transition envy, it's still just as bitter a cocktail as I remember. It can be hard to move past that, and almost... resent the other person/s, but what helped me is knowing that the person you're envying isn't specifically trying to make you, personally, feel like absolute shit. Just as you can't always help what you are envious about in other trans people, they can't help that they have traits or transition experiences or opportunities you do not have, you know? And absolutely, it sucks. But it's something that helped me because then it's a reminder that the world isn't Out To Get Me, you feel?
I think a lot of us can relate to the experience of transition envy, and it's shameful to admit to it, I suppose. It's hard to admit to envy in general, but it's important to not be judgemental about yourself. Your transition is as unique and beautiful and worthy as literally everyone else's and I hope you remember that forever

ive been a vaguely transmasc version of genderqueer for almost four years now but after employing a few changes to what i can control about the way people refer to me as well as certain stuff in the way i think about myself then living with it for a while, i think i like the idea of agenderism
#it's hard to explain‚ like when if gender ever not#but i think ive completely sapped the idea of gender out of everything for me generally#at my last psychiatrist appointment‚ i referenced the idea that i don't meet a lot of standards of femininity across the board socially#and she said‚ “i would've never guessed that‚” and sort of gestured to what i was wearing (i posted a photo a few days ago) and i came home#and realised that yeah it's an objectively feminine presentation from a binary pov but i didn't think of it as feminine#and i get the same way when i dress more 'masculinely' too. as in‚ i'll get comments about being a lesbian or whatever#(indicative that the person perceiving you is seeing you as crossing the line Too Much) and i'd have never thought of it that way lol#it's like yeah i do purposely attempt to be perceived as more masculine sometimes but mostly i just don't care!#im not a woman‚ im not a man‚ im not nonbinary‚ and i don't think of myself as crossing boundaries specifically!#it's so hard to get across what i'm thinking. but one of my favourite tiktokers is called 'special jenny :D'#and she's autistic. whenever she's asked about how she'd like to be referred to it's usually 'just jenny!' and it's literally exactly that!#i think the way she presents. as like obviously presenting one way but you can tell they're sno intent to be#indicative of Anything at all is exactly what i identity with too#and like this alone is intentionally subversion yes and i like that as a purposeful part of my identity but i mean#that the natural feeling of Being isn't specifically to do so. kind like how sam winchester going to college was a genuine#and earnest want of his but it became an act of rebellion due to its perception and what it awarded him over time#he/they in a bottle...#&

my mother (cis) was telling me (trans) today that all her friends (cis) are accepting of me being trans (nonbinary), but one friend who is a gay man (also cis, just to be really clear on the matter) said he has trans friends who would say i'm not trans for not specifically Changing One Gender To Another (whichever that may be),
and i'm sitting there having briefly forgotten the word for transmedicalism, fully remembering truscum but not wanting to use that word because it's unkind and requires extra explanation whereas transmed feels easier for outsiders to swallow, nodding and saying "yeah mum not everyone is in agreement about these things."

hi pia!! I was wondering, is it possible for Faber to take larentin hormones? Or are betas unable to take hormones to change their bodies in this way? <3
Hi anon,
The presence of botewalogen (the beta hormone) actually suppresses/neutralises the effectiveness of larentin (and sometimes ardolphogen).
This is actually mentioned in Underline the Black and is thought to be one of the reasons Efnisien was given it by Crielle:
‘I did some research and found a few papers which covered the basics, you know, botewalogen being produced by all foetuses in the womb, and then production stops when an offspring differentiates into alpha or omega. But there was a suggestion in the paper that botewalogen might be a universal neutralising hormone.’
Outside of that, betas do not produce larentin (not even in tiny amounts) and do not have ways to really metabolise it or "use" it, so currently no, we can't just give Faber a shot of larentin (or shots) and make him have omega biological responses, his body isn't really going to know what to do with it, and the presence of botewalogen will suppress its effects even if that was possible.
That doesn't mean that the science won't change in the future! But it's more complicated than just introducing omega hormones into a beta's body (because larentin also doesn't include sub-larentins, which we know are important enough that they can - on their own - create heats and other omega physiological responses in Efnisien even in the complete absence of the larentin-producing glands).
So unfortunately it's not like primary sex hormones, in terms of how it works!
