Nico went to a pride parade in NYC for the first time and loved it. He went with the 7 + reyna (all of the roman/California ppl thought it was worth the trip, just to support nico, cause you know... 40s.)

It was a big surprise as nico didn't even know it was on that day or what it even was. All he knew was that will (who planned everything and got everyone together) had surprise for him in the city.

When he got to the area he found everyone and was so shocked and happy. He missed hazel, reyna and everyone so much. When they explained what was happening today and the surprise nico didn't fully understand but was so happy.

Will had to tell him that the city puts it on yearly & stuff and that he wasn't in charge of all of it. Still, nico felt so loved.

He learnt a lot about queer history that he missed when he was in the lotus hotel. For the first time, he didnt feel scared to be himself. He was out & proud. Learnt that a bunch of his friends where also queer (percy & annabeth = bi. Reyna = ace. Piper = lesbian. Leo = pan. Jason [who's alive ok this an au or set before TOA] = gay man/achillian.)

He also talked to an elderly gay man & punk adult trans person. They had a really good heart to heart and he learnt a lot about different people's struggles & identities. It was really nice.

The 7 also had a big sleepover at camp just because if they were all going to make the effort to come here, it might as well be for a long time and not a short time.

Just before nico hits the hay he tells them all (but really will) how much he appreciates what they did for him today. He tells will he loves him before passing out.

He has his usual nightmares but there a lot more manageable with will & all his friends around.

im literally a 29 year old virgin and yet i look at the loud tiny minority of bad opinions on the caitvi sex scene and think at how utterly boring and sexless they are. jesus christ people go read some fanfiction at the very least if you dont know how to find a good erotic comic that will make you cry during a sex scene because it's beautiful. sexual healing is a thing, it's not just a marvin gaye song. you dont even need to cry you can feel joy from a sex scene! wow! did ya know that??? sex doesnt have to be miserable or punished like it's a gritty live action drama or a horror film. alright im being an ass but you get me i dont see people bitch about the jayce and mel sex scene (they shouldnt it was a stunning use of the animated medium using the star imagery from the hexcore, my jaw dropped during my rewatch bc its so well done chefs kiss, but thats a whole other conversation)

the caitvi sex scene is great both narratively and on a technical level, and had a purpose as the culmination of 2 seasons of romance and tension as well as give the characters (and the audience) a much needed moment of happiness and solace. sorry i think the french are right. that sex scene made me realize how utterly afraid american and japanese culture is of sex. jesus. why do you think im a virgin at this age? virtue?
