3D-Model of Johnny 13, his motorcycle and Shadow

For some reason I struggled to capture the likeness of his face, but after 3 days of trying and failing I settled with this model.

Because of Shadows amourphous shape and how he transforms from 2d ( hiding in Johnnys shadow) into a 3d form ( his real form) I'm actually still not sure how to translate him into an animation-ready 3d model. I used Blenders Greasepencil and drew him behind Johnny in this showcase as a placeholder.

And while modelling Johnnys motorbike I have noticed that the rear wheel is not connected to anything. In most of the reference images it is covered by Johnnys long coat or the perspective makes it hard to see. So how does this thing work?

Have you ever tried to animate? If so how good/bad did it go? Did it make you feel like a Goddess of Artistic Creativity that you stopped to preserve your mortal flesh? Or did it make you go full Artificer and slaughter a shit ton of scavs instead?

i animate sometimes, very rarely though. i'm still learning and honestly i wish i had more time to practice... they usually tend to be things like this though.

Except the character, everything else in this one is my own, nothing taken from movies so yeah I feel like a little movie director XD I made another track for it but it is not the animation that I am working on that I mentioned a couple weeks ago. That one will take a longer while, and I wanted to have something smaller finished before I go back to college.

Last quick scribble before bed. This one was a joy to do. 💙 I love the dramatic angle. I’m also starting to notice a pattern with my work process when I’m trying new characters etc—first animation will look like blobs, the second one, well it all starts coming together—

Sometimes I’ve wondered what it’d be like to see these KH guys done in hand-drawn animation, with a more naturalistic acting style. Anyway, they’re in love your honor. Or something—! I was watching compilations of scenes of these two, and I was… flabbergasted by some of the choices made. I mean, the literal tears and falling to their knees at an emotional reunion, seeing each other’s true hearts kind of choices. What is going on here, kind of choices.
