honestly the amount of issues that can go wrong because you think you know what you are doing are so plentiful. It's easy to do but also easy to over do, or under do. Shame about your PSU though. Hope it didn't cause any other damage?

Extended version of this brotherly jealous Andrew post

It's only been a few days and Andrew has paid a visit to Bee for every single one that's passed. He's not this talkative or much of a complainer, but Bee takes advantage of the situation if it means Andrew is expressing dormant or repressed feelings that most healthy siblings without a complicated relationship should have.

"What's this childhood friend's name again? The one visiting Aaron?"

"Don't remember."

Andrew is on his third cup of hot cocoa, refusing to let Bee end the session until he can use all the synonyms for the word "annoying" to describe this recent invader of the Monsters and Foxes.

"I just call him Aaron's friend." Andrew waves off despite knowing exactly what said friend's name is.

"Andrew." Bee gives him that look that makes Andrew reluctantly strive to be a better person.

"I don't want to say the name, Bee."

"Because then when you finally say it, it'll mean you acknowledge the important bond to Aaron, and that make Aaron's friend real."

Andrew decides not to confirm, but they both know Bee is right. Since Aaron's friend came to town, to campus, Andrew has needed Neil and Renee to hold him back from causing a messy, violent scene. It's worse than the Katelyn or Allison incident. Aaron has no idea Andrew hates Aaron's childhood friend. He just thinks Andrew is disinterested.

"Did it occur to you, that it's a good thing Aaron has another person to rely on? Who can relate to him on certain struggles?"

"I don't like it." Andrew holds out his empty mug for a refill, and Bee takes it from him, handing him water instead.

"Why don't you like it?"

"He never told me about this guy. Not even Nicky knows about him. We only know about the ones in high school when I moved in and when Nicky came to take care of us."

Andrew then says in a small voice. "I thought I knew everything about Aaron."

Bee smiles at Andrew's irritated and betrayed demeanor. "We talked about this. No matter how well you know a person, you won't know everything about them."

"But it's different now." Andrew counters, looking at his hands and then at Bee. "We're talking more. We're... hanging out more. We're being..."

"Brothers? Twins?"

"Close." Andrew answers, clenching his fists, nails digging into his palms. "We're closer than before."

"That's true, but knowing small details or facts takes time. I'm sure he would've eventually told you if it was necessary."

"He wouldn't." Andrew seems resentful about it.

"You don't know if you don't ask." Bee encourages.

He stares at her blankly. "I'm not telling him I'm jealous."

"Ah, so you recognize you're jealous. That's progress. Good job, Andrew." Bee writes in her notepad.

"I'm still not gonna tell him." Andrew childishly defies and Bee lets him.

"Don't be scared. Aaron's proved to us all that he wants you by his side the most, Andrew."

He tries to keep Bee's words in mind whenever the urge to slice and dice compels him. So far, Neil and Renee have been taking shifts in stopping Andrew from carving Aaron's friend like an ice sculpture. This time it's Neil's turn as the Monsters have commandeered Aaron's dorm to observe this newly unknown version of Andrew's twin.

"These notes are insane, Aaron. How do you do it?" Aaron's friend, Andrew's migraine, is still here at PSU.

"S'nothing much." Aaron shrugs at the praise and Andrew is tempted to call bullshit.

This nonchalant Aaron is a phony. It was Andrew who was there watching Aaron panic at the course load and threaten to slit everyone's throat in their sleep if they didn't shut up and let him study. How dare he tell this friend of his that pre-med is "nothing much".

"You really hate this guy." Kevin curls a brow as Andrew watches Aaron laugh at an inside joke from when he was, like, 10 or 11.

"Hate doesn't describe the depths of my rage." Andrew wants to be petty and send Neil over to ruin Aaron's stupidly happy face.

Since when did Aaron smile? Did he smile at the cheerleader like that? Is the cheerleader okay with Aaron being monopolized from this ghost of the past?

"I overhead them earlier making plans," Nicky starts, looking worried and shuddering, anticipating for Andrew's reaction. "Aaron invited his friend back to Columbia this weekend."

"He's not allowed to bring that thing to our home." Andrew seethes, about to grab his knives but Neil halts him with a "What would Bee say?"

Eventually, after who knows how long, Aaron bids his old friend goodbye until next time, going so far as giving a hug that borders on brotherly than friendly. Andrew is livid.

Once Aaron returns from walking his friend to the door, he is confronted by a glaring Andrew.

"What?"

"You bringing your best friend to Columbia?"

"He's not my best friend." Aaron rolls his eyes.

Andrew doesn't find the deflection entertaining. "Answer the question, oh brother of mine."

"Don't make it weird, Andrew."

"Newsflash, we are weird." He looks Aaron up and down. "And should the cheerleader be concerned? You've never invited her to Columbia, but this random from your past that you haven't talked to since elementary school is granted the privilege. Don't tell me you swing now."

Aaron narrows his eyes. "It's not like that. Katelyn knows I'm hanging out with him and she knows how important it is that we catch up after all these years."

"And how is he important? You never bothered to mention him before."

"I don't have to tell you everything." Aaron doesn't get it. Andrew has a fuck ton of secrets. Why can't Aaron have some as well?

"Okay, but what if I wanna know?" Andrew presses and Aaron is even more confused. Why does his twin care so much?

"What?"

"What if I wanna know more about you?" Andrew scowls at the imaginary angel on his shoulder that resembles a pleased Bee nodding her head. She approves of his honesty.

"Uh... Are we supposed to be witnessing this?" Nicky whispers too loudly, totally in shock, and both the twins shoot daggers at him for ruining an almost moment between them.

"Get out." Andrew and Aaron say at the same time in two different tones laced in deadly.

Nicky whines, getting dragged away from the room by Neil, and Kevin has the nerve to remind Andrew that night practice is in thirty minutes.

The room is clear of all distractions. Andrew and Aaron have a staring contest. Neither talking. Then Aaron breaks.

"You wanna know more about me?" He sounds unsure.

Andrew watches Aaron's cheeks flush in embarrassment.

"Yeah. I do."

Aaron searches Andrew for any lies, but only sees truth.

"Didn't know you gave a damn. I mean, after the letter, I thought that was all I'd get from you."

Understandable. They still have to sort out conflicted feelings in therapy. Andrew takes a deep breath and gets real.

"I never had a childhood friend. I moved around too much. Foster homes and juvie. I thought you were the same as me. Alone until we found each other. Finding out you had a friend, it makes me uncomfortable." Andrew admits.

Aaron grimaces. "Why?"

"Because I don't like it when we're not the same."

Aaron can't believe his ears. Andrew takes this twin thing way more seriously. More than Aaron ever thought.

"But, you have Kevin and Renee as friends. Isn't that a bit hypocritical of you?"

"I know. I'm working on it with Bee."

And that's how it is for now. Andrew battling his possessiveness over his twin finding peace without him and Aaron not telling the others that his childhood friend is also someone he did drugs with.

It's a lil ooc considering Neil isn't insecure about his scars so much as he just doesn't want the attention, but I really want a fic where Neil never joined the Foxes but still had his shit rocked so he has his post TKM scarring, and he still ends up at PSU

and so he covers up his scarring as best he can, covers up most of his physical person really- mask, beanie, long sleeved hoodies. He stops wearing contacts cus Daddy & Co. are dead- thanks Uncle Stuart- but that's it. Just blue eyes and fabric.

He works part time somewhere or another on campus. Makes amiable enough rapport with his co-workers. Co-workers are aware of his Exy obsession. He's cool on Day but he really gets fired up about "the best goalie in collegiate Exy" and co-workers tease him about his "crush"

Foxes post up at the job - I guess it's a restaurant? Idk idc - and co-workers realize Who's Who. They try a roundabout method of teasing Andrew by talking about Neil's "crush"

"So this is the guy!"

It goes on for a little bit. Andrew is reaching for a knife. Foxes try to defuse (except Nicky and Allison, who are trying to escalate- there's gossip to fish for after all)

Enter Smartass Smart Mouth Shit Starter Neil Abram Josten stage left. Dunno what he does or says but yall know him, man that he is. Andrew is intrigued despite himself.

Andrew keeps coming back. They trade cigarettes and insults and obscenities and observations until there's enough truth and trust exchanged between them that Neil removes his mask and beanie one day.

Outwardly Andrew probably just takes a drag of his cigarette. Inwardly he's having his Gay Panic.

Yadda yadda time goes on yadda yadda they start to flirt (Andrew on purpose, Neil by accident, you know, like canon) yadda yadda an exploration in growing closer through the gradual exposure of skin in safe company knowing Show and Tell doesn't equal Invitation but eventually fingers are allowed to trace paths eyes have already memorized-

Andreil becomes canon. Andrew burns Neil's masks. Gifts him arm bands instead.

Partaking in WIP Wednesday!!

I don’t actually know what that means but anyway here are all of my aftg fic ideas that I either have in progress (material document) or in the incubation stage (intangible string of concepts that sometimes flashbang me in the mind while i’m out)

-Seeing Double: Nicky POV with some snippets or stories from when he became the twins’ guardian. this one i have actually posted a chapter of over on ao3 and chapter 2 still in progress but aaron threatens to kill himself to a customer on his first day ever having a job and andrew punches a hole in a load bearing wall so he can use it as a climbing foothold to reach the rum and chocolate nicky keeps on top of the cupboard

-Leave tonight or live and die this way: Mary Hatford story!! so named for tracy chapman fast car because i love tracy chapman fast car. follows mary from about 6 months after she and nathan got married, lore on inner circle, lola malcolm bashing, nathan wesninski playing jump rope with the line between diva and deranged (hints of Lestat if im being quite honest), mary believing herself to be the sole brain cell possessor while in fact having 30% custody of it at best, and french bashing.

-kevin post psu fic where he moves to boston for his pro team and doesn’t know anyone, gets hammered at the first bar he finds and it turns out to be a college bar near harvard and there’s a trivia night going on. even face down on the bar kevin still grumbles corrections and someone there is highly amused by this so insists he join their team. and they like him so he’s invited to their library study session that week too. and kevin likes them so he goes along to it and realises they’re all harvard nerds and don’t have a clue who he is. and he makes actual friends based on something other than exy, but they all think he’s also a student and he doesn’t correct them. eventually they’re at a bar for a trivia night kevin couldn’t make and see a tv on and an interview of some sports thing and one of them squints and is like holdup. is that KEVIN?? scared of mice, sends emails to authors about typos in their books, probably needs glasses, drinks milk by itself KEVIN? anyway yeah don’t know what to call that one or do with it but i will get to it

-another kevin post psu idea, this time by a few years. again it’s just me inventing friends for kevin. so this one is he gets traded across pro teams (as happens) and it wasn’t that he particularly likes where he was before or who he was with, but he knew the city and he knew the deal, even if his teammates didn’t really like him. anyway, he gets traded across the country and swapped with another player, maybe a USC graduate or at least someone who would have fit in there. and that person reaches out to him to see how he’s settling in or adjusting or any of that, which is very nice but kevin would usually give the fine thanks 👍 or ignore, but he’s drunk and alone enough that he responds and calls them back. and they end up on the phone for hours. that seems to be the last of it and kevin is like ok one (1) person knows i am Cringe and i Feel but we’ll never speak again it’s fine it’s fine until the person checks in again the next week and kevin finds that it’s actually quite nice to have someone know you a little bit and genuinely care how you are, and they talk more about the transfer and kevin tries to impart wisdom about the city he was in (bookstores here and here, gyms here and here but don’t go to that one it’s shit, they sell good smoothies on fifth but don’t walk back down west ave. or you end up in a sea of high schoolers ditching and they are so so mean). and maybe eventually there’s some kind of pro exy event they’re both at and they get to hang out? epilogue where they’re traded to the same team? idk this is again just indulgent that i want kevin to have a friend

-Renee fic! untitled but it’ll probably be an ethel cain lyric when i find one suitable. one of the people incarcerated following the trial against the gang she grew up in is released on parole, disappears, and suddenly three little girls turn up dead. and she knows it’s him, of course it is, but nobody seems to be doing anything. and he’ll be working his way over to her, she’s part of the reason he went to prison, but he’ll kill a path there. so renee sets aside her crucifix necklace and decides to kill him first. god’s sword arm? or a matter of hunting? she doesn’t like to think of it as either, but she leaves palmetto with her knives and a look on her face nobody but andrew has seen before, calmly assures them she’ll be back in a few weeks at most, and dives headfirst. it’s like one of those moments where you hit the water so hard you think you’ll never breathe again, and it slows down a bit, and something changes. after grappling with the ‘healed way to kill someone’, renee gives herself more and more permissions to shift back into natalie shields behaviours, but catches herself before she catches the guy. she recognises that she’s doing that formulaically, but that ultimately what she’s trying to achieve here doesn’t actually conflict with any one of her values, and when she kills him it’s with a bible in her rucksack and a sparkly purple cat charm on her keys. idk a lot of the specifics of that might change but i chew on renee a lot and i think we all should.

-aforementioned jerejean au where jean is a firefighter and jeremy is at the seminary training to be a priest. not quite fleabag shit because i could never do that to jean, but very unlikely and somehow working. jeremy im giving you religious problems because i think they would suit you. jean im giving you being hot and sweaty and saving people because im a pervert. also something i like there about first responder/last responder. and how that’s kind of what each of them need? jeremy is the final breath and the calm reassurance, but there’s something in him that wants to run and scream and yell and have the stakes be as high as they can, be able to do something with an instant material result. jean is always under the most pressure he possibly can be, trying to keep everyone alive, and sometimes secretly wants a moment of quiet that he doesn’t think he deserves and would feel horribly guilty if he got. anyway jean being vaguely amused by closet adrenaline junkie trainee priest and jeremy fascinated by the tall french firefighter who refuses to forgive himself for being alive.

and i think that’s all of them for now!! my notes app is just this with various scenes and lines that i want to put in each one but would need to write 6 chapters to get to. bummer ANYWAY if you made it this far i am sorry and ily and i hope u have a great day <3
