Week 5 Ani
This week’s blog will just be me discussing what’s been going on with our group projects and my personal animation.
This week for our group project I have just been drawing up my ideas for the fear demon which I think is the final one now due to Kiara needing to do other concepts too. Anyways I made it a cloaked figure to allow it’s body to primarily be made of smoke and bone. This was to make it more closely related to death and death is scary and fear is scary so it makes sense. Along with that design, I was also working with smoke effects in primarily After Effects to show what they look like and how we can make it work for certain things. I managed to make a smoke trail go up and a small smoke cloud in the area. This was done using noise maps and adjusting the fine details of it and key framing certain frames to make it actually move. It’s good in After Effects because after we have done the smoke and blocked it out, we can still edit the effect whenever we want to actually make it different depending on time or shot. I feel this will be great for the smoke not directly coming from the demon’s body as we can play around with and change it after rendering to save time and adjust things if necessary.
Now for the Pflow smoke effects. Basically I was following a tutorial but I messed up and got annoyed and only cried like 3 times but knowing what the final product looks like, it’ll be easier to use this for the demon itself because it looks great and we can have it react to wind and all that jazz. Essentially it’s done the same way in looks using a noise effect then just messing around with it.
As for my personal project, I’ve made my character actually act way more feminine which took a while but I just thought of how a drunken female would act when doing certain things then did those actions in my poses to make it more interesting.
